Absolutely WONDERFUL!! I came in to the shop asking for a cover-up. It was a 20 year old mistake that I was ready to part ways with. Steve planned out the floral piece, making certain I was happy with all aspects. Customer service was phenomenal! My last session, I added a bumble bee friend.My daughter also got her ears pierced by Killian. She was very nervous about the piecing, so they were kind enough to do a tandem piecing. They had an excellent selection of jewelry also.HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I have been tattooed at least 10 times by Alex in the last year and everything has came out amazing. Great line work, color, and always comes up with designs I love. She has also reworked a dragon ball on my elbow and colored a beetle I had gotten elsewhere, both came out amazing. I have also gotten three tattoos from Steve, one being a family crest that is going to be 10 years old in April and has definitely held up over the years. I highly recommend this shop!

Booking was super easy, I spoke with Killian on the phone and booked with her the next day! She was super sweet and talked me through everything and how she would do my piercing, after she explained how to clean them and take care of them properly. Prices where reasonable and jewelry was included! I had a great experience here and look forward to coming back in the future!!

Inkwell was such a great experience! My family was able to get 2 members tatted, one being his very first tattoo. Kat was so nice to him while her letters and line work on point! I have gone to Alex countless times for tattoos. Her style is adorable and her tattoos always get so many compliments. She does incredible color work and her tattoos heal and age phenomenally. Apart from her fantastic work, she is so friendly and easy to talk to. She explains the process thoroughly every time, she’s super understanding, and it is always a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere in the shop. I can’t recommend Alex enough to anyone looking to get a tattoo.

I’ve known Kat for a long time - She is one amazing and kind individual. I have multiple tattoos from her , and I’m lucky to have been one of her first guinea pigs way back when she started tattooing. She has grown so much as an artist and I’m so excited to see how far she will go! I highly recommend getting a tattoo from her, you will not be disappointed! Her lines are smooth and CLEAN and her designs are absolutely STUNNING! My favorite tattoo by her is lock shock and barrel from NBC! Thank you KaT!

My brother, sister, and I wanted a sibling tattoo that also honored our grandmother who just passed away. She loved dogs and the halo above it represents which sibling/grandchild we are. Kat did an amazing job, it might be small, but there is so much love in this little tattoo.

Dan is always so pleasant, personable, knowledgeable and really works to make sure youre happy with his work! Hes now done 4 of my tattoos and each experience has been great!

I was last here five years ago when Steve did a tattoo for both myself and my wife. We went back again today because my wife wanted to add to the work Steve started and once again he knocked it out of the park. I cannot recommend Inkwell Tattoos enough. Great work performed by great people.

I had the pleasure of working with Veronica for my first tattoo ever, and she was wonderful! She designed my tattoo for me based on my description/inspiration photos, and was very calm and reassuring the entire time. She made sure I was comfortable, chatted with me and the friend I had brought, explained aftercare, and I left with a gorgeous tattoo done in an hour for a good price. It healed beautifully with no issues. 10/10, will DEFINITELY go back.

This is NOT a review of the work done by the artists, nor is it a review of the environment. By all observations those are satisfactory to above average. This review is of business practices.I heavily researched my next tattoo, reviewing all shops in about a 20 mile radius. Landed on this shop for proximity and skill. Determined which artist I wanted. Came in for a visit. Discussed my tattoo briefly with the owner (my preferred artist). Couldnt find any time where availability overlapped. Went to my 2nd choice, still a skilled artist. Found a time that worked, mentioned I would need to get off work early.Arrive 5 mins early for my appointment, and Im told the artist I selected was running 1 to 1.5 hours behind. Was offered by another artist to hop in the chair right then. While this artist does good work, she is not who I selected and the style she specializes in was not what I was looking for.The two star rating is for asking me to settle and compromise my choices for artist to do a permanent addition/modification to my body, and to compromise my time, neither of which are satisfactory.Ill also add it felt just a little bait-and-switchy.Good artists, good environment, but not for me.

PIERCING WAS AMAZING! I got my belly button done and the girl is fabulous! I definitely recommend, super hygienic, professional, nice, and funny! It was an awesome experience!!

I have gotten 2 tattoos so far from Inkwell Tattoos and their work is phenomenal! Both times Ive gone in showing them exactly what I want, and have come out with a tattoo of exactly what I want. Theyre professional, but the place also has a very chill vibe. If youre thinking of getting a tattoo, this is the place to go!

Incredible experience. As a tattoo virgin, didnt know what expect. Artist was hysterical, professional & tattoos were beautifully done. Made it a family affair & four of us participated. Would return in a heartbeat!!!!

I got a daith piercing and went back for my first tattoo. Killian and Kat were both great. Killian explained the entire piercing process beforehand and as she was doing it. Kat listened to my ideas for my tattoo, designed it and she nailed it. She was so kind and explained everything and made sure I was OK through the whole process!

My wife and I both have multiple tattoos from Alexandria here (building a leg and an arm sleeve). Great clean environment, everyone is super nice. Awesome place to go with more than fair pricing.

Killian did a fantastic job piercing my daughters helix and nostril. She does a great job at explaining everything as she goes, her room/ station is very clean & sanitized and her knowledge of care for what my daughter needed for healing was wonderful. We will absolutely be going back to see her

Daniel did an excellent job! My best friend recently passed from pancreatic cancer and I wanted a purple ribbon with a red heart on my wrist in remembrance of him. I cried when I saw the finished tattoo because it was just SO perfect!!! Thank you Daniel!

This place is awesome. I was trying to get my nose pierced by another shop for a few weeks and I finally decided to look elsewhere so called here and I got it pierced day of. Samantha did mine and she was so nice!

I got my septum pierced by Killian. It didn’t even hurt that bad! She did an amazing job and made me feel so comfortable. She explained everything thoroughly and made sure I understood what was going on. I appreciated her checking in regularly to make sure I was okay during the process. I’ll definitely be going back for more piercings soon!!!

Love and recommend kat she was super kind and cool. she did a very good job on my tattoo, she took her time and put in a lot of effort. super good work hope to see more of it!

Recently had 2 helix piercings done by Killian. She was so nice to work with. Very professional. Killian explained everything that she was doing and even what to expect after receiving the piercing. Thank you for a great experience.

Samantha was more than welcoming and got us in before they closed. they could have turned us away but she didnt. she took us as clients(there were 3 of us) and was very cool and great about everything. she was very professional and helped us all out tremendously. she truly cared about our piercings and if they looked good on us and didnt try to rush. she was more than accommodating and was very friendly. I absolutely loved her, I cant thank her enough and will definitely recommend her to anyone.

Went for friday the 13th deal. Got only part of an offering tattoo cause thats what i wanted. Warned about fading from where i wanted (side of finger). What i didnt expect was that it was not to have been deep enough or clean lines. She had needle issues with the gun of needle out too far when started happen to be at top of the tattoo. All I wanted was tattoo and already overpaid. I now have to pay another to fix

I was hesitating getting a Michael myers tattoo, but I finally did and Steve here did an AMAZING job. Inkwell for the win

Walked in to get new earrings for my cartilage piercing. They were super helpful and put them in for me and very well priced. Great experience!

My girlfriend and I got pierced by Killian, she did my belly button and my friend got her conch. We’re in Ann Arbor and will continue to drive to Brighton for Killian!!! She was so sweet and did SUCH a great job. We will definitely be back 🥰 highly recommend

The staff was very nice. I got my not piercing there and it turned out great. But sad to say that the tattoo I got from there was not very good. I got a suicide awareness tattoo (a semicolon) on my wrist. I followed everything I should do to take care of a tattoo to heal properly as I have done in the past. This one for some reason is so spotty and faded. It’s been like this almost since I’ve gotten it. I love the atmosphere and the people but I probably wont be coming back.

As a nurse I have high standards on processes. Samantha was amazing! She practices good hygiene, is informative, and comforting. Prices are also good. I got my nose pierced and my 2 teenagers got belly buttons pierced. It was super quick too!!

Got this tattoo in November of 2021. I follow tattoo after care perfectly, and this is how it healed, very disappointed. I have had family member here who have received beautiful tattoos. I’ve received two piercing here and the atmosphere is amazing but extremely disappointed with this tattoo. Some of the outline isn’t there at all and the shading is extremely patchy

Heard from a friend that this place did really good work, so I came here for my first tattoo. Kat did an amazing job and I cant wait for my next tats!

I got a helix piercing done back in November customer service was great and shop was clean. BUT from the first day nothing but issues. The next night the gem unscrewed from the bar without me even touching it. Also the bar was way to short for swelling and my ear started to almost swell over the jewelry. I followed the proper aftercare and have other piercings where I haven’t had issues unlike this piercing. Now after months of trying to save the piercing I decided to take it out because I was still having issues and pain. The piercing was done at a horrible angle, I have a bump on the back of my ear, and my ear is still thick from the build up of scar tissue. Will not be going here for any future piercings.

I scheduled my appointment through Facebook (which was great!!) and Allison was extremely efficient, responded right away, and scheduled my appointment within 15 minutes. Lauren did my tattoo and she was amazing! Personable and extremely skilled. The atmosphere was welcoming and everyone was very friendly. I would highly recommend Inkwell Tattoos to everyone. Thank you ladies!

I just got my first tattoo today and from the moment I met the staff, I knew this was the place that I felt most comfortable. I booked my appointment with Madi and she was truly the sweetest thing. I went in a few days before my appointment to drop off some toys for the toy drive and Samantha was very welcoming as well. Madi did an absolutely amazing job on both of my tattoos. I instantly fell in love with them. The entire staff was so welcoming and truly made this experience a lot better. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting a tattoo, especially a first one.

Have been coming to this place since it opened as Sin 2 Skin a few years back. The shop has come a long way and its was definitely for the better. Inkwell is very professional, very clean and incredibly friendly!! Ive seen some of the most talented artists at that shop and was tattooed twice by one of them. Steve is an incredible artist and Im very pleased with how each of my tattoos have turned out. Im sure Thad and Billy are just as good! Ive seen their work, definitely go and check all of their portfolios out if youre planning on getting a tattoo. They are a great shop and have very good pricing on either tattoos or piercings. Again, very very friendly, Ive gotten hugs after tattoos and you cant get that anywhere else. I recommend it to all of my friends and I believe everyone should at least stop by and check it out!

I got a tattoo there yesterday; I would highly recommend this studio! While the tattoo is awesome, it was the whole experience that made it 5 star. It was a very fun atmosphere, and the owners and employees are great. Even if theyre scheduled out a while, its worth the wait.Very talented and professional, I will be back.

I went to Inkwell to get a memorial tattoo for family that had passed. Steve did an amazing job. I had decided on an anklet with charms to represent individual family members that had died. Steve went above & beyond what I had expected. I had the anklet & 1 charm completed my first visit & 3 charms added the second visit. I will be coming back in to add more charms to it as well. Great work!

One of the best tattoo shops I have ever been too!! Great staff who have amazing talent! Have had all my tattoos done here and they have never let me down! Today being my 18th birthday I decided to get a nostril piercing as one of my presents. I HIGHLY recommend Allison. She was extremely sweet and made sure I understood everything and made sure I was comfortable. Very easy to talk to and a great experience overall. I plan to get pierced by her for my other nostril once this one is healed.

The only shop I have ever used. I have three different tattoos all in different styles, and they were all done incredibly well. Lauren did a photo realistic large snake and skull on my bicep in black and gray with a pop of color that I get complimented on all the time. It took two sessions and was done really well, the whole thing healed up without a problem.Lauren also did my first tattoo, which was a couple of lines of a script. It was a great first experience. It was less than a month before I was back getting my snake and skull started.I have only had one piece done by Madi but it is perfect. A comic book symbol with a lot of linework that she had no problem with. It also healed up great and without issue.I definitely plan to keep coming to Inkwell for all of my future pieces. They are friendly, professional, and stocked with a super talented staff. I recommend them for your first or fifteenth piece.

Besides the beautiful artwork done by my artist on both my two small tattoos, I was extremely impressed with his extreme detail sanitation! Ive been to other tattoo shops with friends when they got inked and was not as impressed!

First time tattoo for me. I found something I truly loved and had a lot of meaning behind it for me. Steve took his time and was absolutely understanding of my nerves and just my story. I got to meet his wife and Allison, they were both incredible. I would never, ever want to go anywhere else. (Now of course I want so many more, lol 😁😁😁)

Ive followed Inkwell for quite a bit now and heard nothing but great things about them and their artists. I decided for my 41st birthday to treat myself to a piercing. I was very nervous as it was my first non ear piercing. I was immediately set at ease by Allisons demeanor and professionalism. She explained everything before we began and during. I am very happy and will recommend Allison and Inkwell to anyone looking for a tattoo or piercing.

I had a great experience here! One of my earrings from a cartilage piercing came out and got lost, and I needed a replacement. I didnt have the piercing done at Inkwell, but I stopped in today just to buy a new labret stud. They ended up putting it in for me even though its not easy to get in and had started to close up and didnt even charge me. Super nice and helpful! I will definitely go back in the future!

I called this shop last minute to ask about getting tattoos for my daughters after they lost their brother tragically a week ago and the man in the shop (sorry forgot his name) was so empathetic and great about its coming there before they closed for the night. Both their tattoos look amazing. He did one of my daughters and a young lady with beautiful green hair did my other daughters tattoo. Both are beautiful and it gave them a smile on their faces we havent seen since our familys tragedy!Will definitely be back and do that drive from Birmingham just bc their work was not just amazing but because they understood how important it was for our girls!Everyone I come in contact will know about this little gem in Brighton! I came in wanting to pierce my navel and my upper ear. I was super nervous (the shop was a little intimidating), but Allison (and everyone else) was super friendly and welcoming. If I ever get another piercing, Ill be sure to come here. 10/10. I never felt pressured or uncomfortable; Inkwell had a nice atmosphere and for sure everything is super sterile.

Madilynn worked with me on a design that I had been dreaming up. She came up with exactly what I imagined! It was my first tattoo and she made sure I was completely happy with the design, size, placement and color. Highly recommend!

So. I had an urgent need for a nose ring removal. I was headed to Ann Arbor for an MRI and for some reason I could not get my most recent nose ring out! After several tries (and a couple reflexive slaps from me--sorry!), STEVE came to my rescue and got it out with a pair of pliers. He worked hard and fast for me and he had never met me before. On top of that, he was going to do it for free but I insisted. After all, it was a very stressful 15 minutes--for BOTH of us!I highly recommend this place. Very clean and GREAT owner / staff. 👍👍

Got my tattoo done by steve, he did an absolutely amazing job! did exactly what i envisioned. everything healed super quick too! the piercer allison is also an angel. i will always come back here and recommend to everyone i know! :)

I came in to get my ear lobe piercings from over 20 years ago resized and one of them repierced straight as well as a new forward helix piercing. I did the paperwork for all three and initially it seemed to go well the re-piercing was done very well and is healing nicely.The piercer then had trouble getting the end screwed on the resized left lobe and tried another end cap. As she was doing it two other customers had come in and where waiting. She hurriedly finished screwing it on and despite having 28 minutes before I needed to leave and all the paperwork all done already I was told there was not enough time to do my forward helix.Hours after I left I looked in a mirror to see the troublesome end cap had fallen off they were however closed for the night. I called the next day and was told no one could do anything for me with the piercer not in, not even give me a new earring please come in the next day. I wore a Band-Aid over the stud to keep it in at work/bed and waited. Went in the next day after working again and it was a mistake the piercer was also not in that day. Rather than just giving me a non defective earring to put in myself at very least I was told they would only sell me one, again to reinsert myself.Id like to reiterate that the piercer seems to have done a great job re piercing my right lobe. That is the only thing Im satisfied with I feel like I was rushed out with a faulty stud and unsatisfied with the facilitys ability to rectify what should have been a minor follow-up situation.P.S. American Graffiti down the road was able to immediately replace the earring and did a great forward helix piercing as well!

Got my first big tatoo here from Steve. It turned out great, it was a portrait of my grandpa and I must admit I was quite nervous as something like this is either done well or not. He did a marvelous job capturing him and I coudlnt be happier. Love this shop. It was also quite affordable for the amount of work he did.

My friend got a butterfly that was very well done for a really good price, loved the atmosphere and loved our tatto artist( Daniel)

Recently got a piece done by Steve. Absolutely amazing experience. Every employee was friendly and talkative and Steve did a great job on my tattoo. The place is clean and everything is sterile. I was very impressed.

Ive been to inkwell for all 4 of my tattoos and 3 of my piercings, Steve did a great job with each tattoo and he was very friendly. The shop is amazing and so is the staff, I highly recommend coming here.

Very unprofessional staff, possibly racist. My best friend called around 12:30 p.m. today (Sunday March 17th) to ask if they accept walk ins. She was told yes, to come on in and if they werent busy we could be serviced. Allison asked my friend what she was thinking about getting and my friend told her an infinity symbol. Allison said okay come on in. She never said An infinity symbol could take an hour or more, so come in by 5 if you want something like that.So anyway, we show up to the shop around 4:30. They close at 6 so we figured thats enough time to get something. They werent busy at all. The lady (I think it was Lauren but Im not certain) asked us what we were getting and my friend showed her a picture of an infinity symbol. It wasnt large at all. The woman IMMEDIATELY said No we definitely couldnt do that. It would take about an hour to an hour and a half. This confused us because if it was 4:30 and it could take an hour, that means it could be done by 530 maybe 6 at the LATEST. I dont understand why if we were there by 4:30, we couldnt get a tattoo that would take an hour and a half. I was under the understanding that if we were in BEFORE closing, we could be serviced. If this isnt the case, they should specify on the website that the last walk in is accepted ________ before closing. We were willing to spend a great deal of money and also refer others but now Ill warn others to stay away. The artist we spoke to was either lazy or didnt want to service minorities. We were torn between this place and Eternal Tattoo in Livonia so thank you Inkwell for making the decision for us. We will never return.

I love how clean , affordable and professional they are. They make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in the door. I have both tattoos and piercings done from the wonderful artist from inkwell and both experances were great. I wouldnt go anywhere else ♡ i recommend Inkwell to all my famliy and friends.

Worst place to get a piercing!!If I could put zero stars I would!The same day the ball fell off of my piercing and the bar was to short. I went to a different piercer to get it changed and was told it was crooked(pierced at an angle).I had to remove it also because it was hurting my gums do to the disk on the labret not being flat and hurting my gums.

Good prices and friendly service. Allison pierced my nose today and it went very smoothly! Ive gotten 3 tattoos there from multiple artists and always had a good experience! Always reccomend Inkwell 💚

Got a tattoo of my dog today, couldn’t be more happy with how it turned out and my artist Daniel was on top of everything I was picturing it to look, very light handed and super nice too! Coming back in two weeks and couldn’t be more excited to get more work done by him!

Staff is great, tattoos are mediocre.I had a small venus sign tattooed by Thadeus on my wrist. It was quite spotty so I went back for a touch-up once it healed. Unfortunately, it is still very spotty a while it is only about a year old, it looks much older. While Thadeus was great and very friendly, I wont be returning to this shop in the future.

I got my first tattoo here last month. I was a little nervous but Steve, the artist I got, did a really good job making me feel comfortable and he did a fantastic job on my tattoo. I will definitely come back for my next tattoo.

I went there with my mom on Friday to get my upper helix pierced. Samantha was really nice and it was super quick. I recommend this place, it was my first time getting anything but my ear lobe pierced.☺️

Great artists and atmosphere... I wont mention pricing, since you should be looking for quality work; if youre looking for a bargain when looking for a tattoo artist, you should stick with temporary tattoos from a vending machine or go to prison for a prison tattoo (since thats what a bargain tattoo is going to look like, anyway).

I came in after researching all over. I wanted a small star by my ear before letting me even finish. The girl cut me of and said we only do those for people that are covered how biased. I highly dont recommend a place thats going to tell you what you do and dont need... Im looking for professional work not your opinion.

When I asked information and appointment times they rudely told me that they won’t do business with me. It was super unacceptable. They were completely rude and disrespectful staff. All I did was ask a simple question and they shame me. They are foolish and I will make rather take me business somewhere else where I’m respected as a customer. They didn’t need to have a tone and get all “sassy.” JUST AWFUL EMPLOYEES!!!

I had a great experience overall with the staff when I was getting my septum pierced but when I went to another shop to look at some septum jewelry they said to me that it was pierced too low and that they should have pierced it farther up
