Kappa Tattoo

The whole experience was amazing!!! I went with both my daughters to get matching tattoos from the min we got there until the min we left I felt comfortable and the staff made sure we were happy and that everything went smoothly. The tattoos were great and was very satisfied all the way around.

Only came in to buy gift certificates for my wife. Everyone there was kind and polite. Ive heard they are fantastic, and I will update my review after wife gets her tattoo. Im sure everything will be great as I know they have a good reputation.

Let me start off by saying i will never come here again :) my experience there was definitely not what i expected. my friend and I go in the i believe on a tuesday and ask for the soonest appointment, which happened to be friday. i feel like in the span of time you would be able to come up with stencil, especially considering both of our tattoos were quotes down our spine and the one with some flowers on it. Instead we get there on friday.... mind you at 12pm and when we got there he seemed somewhat friendly so nothing wrong with that. but in between asking us to pick a font and getting our ids and everything checked probably took an hour due to him sitting in the back talking to the other artist while we waited for him to come back. after that since mine was simple he had started stenciling my friends which again was a quote down the back and some flowers, and then 2 dates. for him to stencil that it took AN HOUR AND A HALF. so we finally get doneprepping everything and we are now at 3:30mind you. when we were quoted we should both be done around 5-6pm. thankfully we didnt have any plans after this cause we wouldnt have made it to them. once he starts with my friend through out this he says he was about to reschedule us because he did something to his arm, at first we felt bad but he had already started and we also had already put a deposit down. at the end of this we wish he wouldve just rescheduled. while doing her tattoo tho he take at least 3 breaks in between which are probably 15-20 long each. AND he told her that he isnt going to do the dates she wanted on there cause he needed to get started with me.6:30-7pm come around and it was finally my turn. before he starts he really asked if i would like to reschedule cause he doesnt want us being here this late, and that his arm hurts. im sorry but thats not my fault. i proceeded to say i dont really know the next time id be able to get in due to my work schedule. he continues to in due to my work schedule. he continues to keep asking me and i finally just said no i want it done today sorry. again while doing my tattoo he take multiple breaks 15-20 minutes long. (i did get light headed before the tattoo from not drinking water, so not counting that break just to be clear). Lastly i am totally aware tattoo shops are not for kids or anything like that but to be talking to a 18 and 20 year old about sending your part to your friends is just nasty and very unprofessional, uncomfortable, and overall gross. AFTER ALL OF THAT we end up getting out at 10:30pm. we were there for 10 and a half hours. before we left he had told my friend she was able to come back for free touch up and free shading. he said he was going to send us a message but never did so i messaged him and have got no response!! i advise no one to go here. And after looking at how the owner responds to his low ratings is also unprofessional, but please explain this one to me.

I cannot say enough what an amazing experience I had the other day while Tyler gave me a tattoo. The atmosphere of the shop is comfortable and I loved how everyone that works there gets along and were very professional, well educated and great at what they do! I had fun. Thanks I will spread the word and be back for more!

Definitely a great experience with Half, round one down , round 2 coming soon.. The stencil was more beautiful than what I had put together in my head, and i wasnt rushed to decide on the little details he left up to me to make or any changes if there were any needed. Half made sure I was comfortable the whole time and didnt hesitate to check in with me especially through out some of the more tough spots. not to mention great conversation which always makes for a great time. 10/10 recommend.

Josh Rish is the best tattoo artist I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and received a tattoo from. Never did I think a tattoo could make me feel beautiful again after some not so fun life events i experienced that left me feeling very down and unattractive but it has truly helped change the way I look at myself. His work is amazing, never seen such perfect shading ever and I get so many compliments on my tattoo that I Highly recommend kappa Tattoo to any and everyone I know! Phenomenal pricing and unbeatable work I won’t go anywhere else and you shouldn’t either, he’s the best of the best and I guarantee you won’t be as satisfied with another’s work as you will be with his!

Its a very nice place in a very nice town and from the artwork that Ive seen that they can do in this tattoo parlor shop is most beautiful and they work off the peace theres a base price on the hour but they work off the piece that cannot detail to Pieces but when youre good at what you do then you can do that so somethings might cost more than others or might be a little pricey but when you see what someone can do when youre willing to pay for it Im a firm believer in that you pay for what you get when it comes quality... you cant go cheap with everything and this is one of those places. The owner Josh is such coolness him and his wife even met the kids and a tour of the place look at all the photos that I have out of all the reviews that I have done this has the most photos and I feel most at home there and I am like in Paradise there because most of the things that he have in there are collectible item and its like being a kid in a candy store because I fit right in line with what he has and all that stuff that he has in there is worth a lot of money I know because Im a big collector of a lot of things and boy he is the stuff so I tell you what you better get on over there if you dont get a tattoo going to check out his stuff and make sure you drop a tip because when you see what he has an are you going to want to spend some money with on a tattoo or buy something that he has laying around her up on a wall or going to ceiling somewhere but he wont sell that hes a collector like me hahaha but yes check him out hes cool people and one of the most spacious and coolest place Ive ever been in my life asked for a tour today!... and tell him O. Julie was such an amazing piercer for my younger sister! She was super talkative and explained everything very well and calmed my sister down. She was extremely sanitary and respectful. My Tattoo artist was quite nice they even took my payment in a different way simply because I didn’t have normal payment methods at the time.But honestly I don’t think I’ll go back. I told my Artist about what I wanted at the deposit, but they didn’t start putting effort into the art until the day of the tattoo, they had a good couple of weeks between deposit and Appointment. They were just pulling images off of google and putting them into a photoshop equivalent and tracing in-front of me. I’m aware a tattoo artist can do things like that for some stuff, but if I may say this as an artist myself, it was just mush.They even said to me that if I was a regular and it wasn’t my first tattoo they would have potentially put more time into it and drawn up some more things. I ended up a bit panicked and agreed to something that just doesn’t feel quite right because it felt more like I was just something that was taking up their time instead of a Client.I ended up being there until very late in the night simply because they spend a good few hours messing with the designs on the computer. It was not ideal.I’m currently looking into tattoo removal so I can have the image of what I wanted on my arm originally redone by someone who has imagination and a clear set Artistic Style.I was dumb and had never gotten a tattoo at that point. Hindsight is 20/20 and I now see some red Flags. Unfortunately I didn’t know better.

I had a blast with Julie as she was piercing my nose. I felt like I was just chatting with a friend. I felt so comfortable as she has years of experience. Go to Julie, you will be happy with whatever you get.

Love this shop. They have an excellent selection of jewelry (specifically for healed piercings). Julie was fun to chat with while she pierced me. My first experience was my nose piercing with Julie, two years ago now.. She was able to get me in quick, was super friendly, and its greatly priced! Yesterday, i went for my first tattoo. Nelly and her apprentice were all super helpful (especially helping my friend who was overheating and light headed because of that 😌) They made for another great experience and i will not hesitate to schedule here! Got my cartilage piercing done by Julie, and not only was she super friendly but the piercing was done exactly how I wanted and it stayed clean. (Also she gave me a juice box bc I almost passed out) (update) went back to get a couple of tattoos done and they outperformed anything Ive ever seen. With very little direction both the piercer and tattoo artists were able to do exactly what I had pictured. The shop is super clean and the staff is incredibly friendly.

Emailed to set up a session they asked what I wanted when I told them I got 0 response. Must only be interested in large projects. I wanted the words stay hard on my hand or wrist which is a david goggins saying that means to stay tough during hard times...the declined and I need a better idea? Great customer service!

Not great on the administrative side (I don’t think they track appointments and double booked when I was there.)Other than that it’s a great place especially for your first tattoo. Josh is a professional and does good work that lasts the test of time and wear. Post tattoo care is superb as well.

I went there last night to get my industrial piercing done and she was nothing but amazing! Im so happy with my new piercing and 100% plan on coming back for my next ones!! She was friendly and professional at the same time it was overall a great experience.

I’ve never gotten a tattoo here but I’ve gotten all 5 of my piercings (all facial) done by Julie. Julie is an absolutely fantastic and kind piercer! She is so kind and helpful, I am nervous nelly when it comes to my piercings but I was able to text her and get answers whenever needed!

Kappa Tattoo is the best shop in the county. all of the artists are fun friendly and incredible at their job. i’ve been tattooed by both tyler and rish & I would suggest going there to anyone. it’s a fun environment & they make sure you feel comfortable. if I could rate higher than a 5 I would!

I enjoyed my experiences. The first time I walked in I felt like Rish was kind of a rude fella but at the same time he was cool. My kinda people I guess. Pretty black and white. Hard to explain but obviously it didnt put me off.Ive gotten 2 tattoos here for about 10ish hours of work give or take. Staff were friendly and chatty. Theyre very transparent. They dont give you that customer service voice which I really appreciate. I know that rubs some people wrong but I prefer people who are themselves instead of fake.Theyve been respectful and understanding. They offer me free pop or water everytime Im there. The artwork and decor is interesting and fun. Keeps me busy as its always getting added to or rearranged.I usually show up for my appointments pretty early and we never start on time. But that doesnt really bother me. I schedule a tattoo appointment on days I dont have anything else going on. They do take breaks to smoke, talk to other customers, help each other with perfecting a design, banter with each other and have a good time. But they dont charge me for that. If I scheduled 3 1/2 hours of work and Im there for 4-5 hours because we started late or they did some other stuff they dont charge me for the extra time.Rish did a 40 minute touch up on my first tattoo for free one time before we started on another tattoo. Both of my tattoos have turned out pretty good. The lettering on my back Rish free handed for the most part and it turned out really awesome. Hes a talented dude.I will say they do seem to forget youre coming or not always seem to be prepared. This didnt bother me though. Its all a part of the laid back atmosphere. Im comfortable there.Theyre provide a very genunine, reasonable experience. Theres no judgement and theyre a good group of people worth respecting. Ill plan to keep going to them for more work.

I recently got a tattoo from this place and I absolutely loved the professionalism from Heels. I remember i was halfway through the tattoo and someone who worked there noticed how anxious I was, so she began a conversation with me to distract me. We talked about my tattoo, astrology and how close together our birthdays are. I wish I got her name.I loved Heelss humor, really got my mind off the pain.Will definitely be coming back!

My sisters and I got sister tattoos and LOVE them. By far the best place Ive ever got a tattoo. This was my 4th one and it was the least painful and didnt bleed like the others did. He did awesome my sister was nervous it was her first and she even said she will be back for more.

I want to start out by saying that I don’t think this is a usual occurrence. I’ve been watching Kappa for a while now and they seem to have built a great little community in Cambridge and have excellent rapport with clients - as far as I’ve seen.As such, I was super excited to stop in and get a Star Wars themed tattoo before Episode 9 is released. I scheduled my appointment on Sunday via their website and put down the $50 deposit to reserve a time slot.I enjoyed that I could schedule this online and that I received reminder text messages before my appointment.However, I am disappointed with the rest of my experience. I arrived 5-10 minutes before my scheduled appointment time. Julie, the piercer, greeted me when no one else came from the back (I’ve been pierced by Julie and think she’s excellent- my review for her specifically is at the bottom). Eventually, I was pointed towards the paperwork to fill out, and Rish went about getting my tattoo sorted and sized. I finished my end of paperwork, but he had disappeared to the back.This is where things took a turn. My guest and I could hear a private argument between Rish and a woman in the back. I tried to drown it out as I have terrible anxiety and didn’t want it to ruin my second tattoo experience - but wasn’t very successful as their voices could be heard clearly over the music and Julie answering the phones. It went on - for the next 20+ minutes. Around 4:25, Rish came back to the front and said he was going to smoke before we started. Came back in, mopped the floor, went to the bathroom. I’m guessing he was trying to cool down? I don’t know, I can’t assume his intentions as I haven’t asked him. My guest explained to him that I have severe anxiety and PTSD - both of which were triggered to the point of me needing to leave and being unable to explain why.Now, before I go further, I have to note - I don’t expect people to adjust their lives because of my own mental health. If a situation is uncomfortable for me, I will remove myself from the situation - that is my responsibility.According to my guest who was speaking on my behalf, Rish explained that I could reschedule, that they don’t do refunds, and that disputing the charge with my credit card company wouldn’t work - apologizing only that I couldn’t get money back. Disclaimer: I wasn’t in the area at the time so I can’t speak for how the interaction went down aside from what my guest told me.In all, it’s just really unfortunate. I recognize that I paid a deposit. I recognize that I can reschedule. However, I will not be getting a tattoo from someone who made me feel so uncomfortable and invisible - getting a tattoo should be a safe, comfortable experience (at least in atmosphere... the tattoo might hurt a bit). If I could give some unsolicited advice then go back to before this mess - it would be to communicate with your clients. Saying “Sorry, something has come up and I need to reschedule you” would have been much more appreciated than ignoring what was going on and that everyone in the unit could hear it.Review for specifically the piercing/Julie:Great experience for a piercing! Managed to get in same day (they do online booking for tattoos and you can text piercer for availability) and are SO affordable. My last piercing of the same type was almost 3x the price. Definitely recommend.

Edit response for owner: 10000% positive I got my piercings at kappa tattoo, I got them done by Julie. I added photos of me getting my piercings done at kappa tattoo (one of which includes a nose ring getting put into my nostril after getting pierced)As I said, I was younger unaware of what proper and safe piercings looked like at the time, and I thought the troubles I had were normal, which is why I went again. I have since realized the troubles I had were not normal, they were from a not properly trained/negligent piercer at your studio.I got pierced a while ago and I’ve since been informed on the proper way to be pierced. My first nose piercing was done with a hoop rather than a stud and at the time I was unaware piercings should be done with studs at first. I’m still having troubles with that piercing to this day. My tongue piercing was done incorrectly. My tongue, septum, and lip piercings were all done with cheap, externally threaded jewelry /: wouldn’t recommend going here for piercings.

I would love to give this place a 5 star but I just cannot. I went in to have my nose pierced but the whole experience was just aweful. The piercer couldnt get the ring in, I ended up being pierced twice, it took forever to heal and her solution to the bump that came on the side of it was to just press it, extremely hard and flatten it. It literally caused me to be in pain double time. I ended up going to a professional place and they helped me to correct it. Not a fan!

My son and I came in 1st Tattoo and he was treated with great service and care,it turned outgreat. I also had work done by Jeff on a tribute tattoo for my brother who just went to haven.We will both be back for more and my daughter is thinking about it now. Thanks again to everyone at Kappa.

I was hoping to walk in and be greeted with at least a smile. I walked in and josh at the front desk starred at me and waited, I said hi and told him what I was thinking. He had no emotion and didn’t make me feel that special feeling telling someone a tattoo idea. He said how much... that’s it. Not impressed. I told him why I wanted what I wanted because the story is heartbreaking and impossibly sentimental for me. Josh didn’t even tell me what it could look like or other ideas, no interest at all, literally didn’t even pick up a pencil to make an effort. No matter how big or small, it’s huge to the customer. Make them feel that way the second they walk in or you will have a person like me walking out feeling 2 inches tall and insecure.

Hands down the BEST tattoo place in the world. Rish and Nelly are a perfect team and no tattoo is too big or too small for them. Rishs shading ability is out of this world, he can make any tattoo look like a 3D art piece on your body. Him and Nelly have gentle hands which really decrease the pain in all their tattoos. Honestly you are fool if you go anywhere else. They have done better work than I have seen some stars on T.V. do. If you want the best, go to the best.
