The staff at Rowan is excellent- very gentle, kind, and friendly toward their adult and little customers. They take their time placing the piercing, measuring and confirm before doing your piercing. Earring replacement and follow up check up was a breeze. They thoughtfully answered all of our questions and helped us choose our replacement earrings. They were patient and careful, the vibe in the chair is unhurried. Highly recommend as the atmosphere is calm in the piercing chair even when the store is busy. The vibe is bright, friendly, kind and gentle.

Ive been twice to Rowan in Kenwood and got my second piercing from Nurse Amanda. Im so happy with how my piercings turned out! She did a phenomenal job. My first one healed so fast! Also both weirdly didnt hurt! I feel very safe knowing a nurse is doing my piercings. She followed all the proper safety and the store was very clean. I have alot of old piercings that need reopened. Ill definitely be going in again to have Nurse Amanda reopen them and to get some new ones. Im addicted at this point.

Jen was wonderful. Although I do think it was a bit overpriced, my child was thrilled. They got us in quickly. Was very friendly and educational. My daughter is beaming from ear to ear, no pun intended. I was worried she would have thought it was too painful but it was quick and she tolerated the pain very well!

I went in to check out the place and left with two piercings!The place looks clean, and staff were friendly and knowledgeable.You sign the waiver all online while making the appointment or walking in form online.The process was quick and simple.They do provide aftercare kit/cleaner after the service ($20 a bottle). But so far it does help with redness and pains I have noticed it after second day.Jen and Amanda were both patience when I was browsing around and deciding on the earrings and where exactly I would like to get my ears pierced.It can be a bit pricey, but I personally think it’s worth it because they have actual license nurses do the actual piercings (either needle or use the device with soft part only of your ear).I’m not an expert, but I know that these methods are better than others and to avoid infections and scarring.The price is about the same or a bit cheaper compared to the professional tattoo/piercing parlors. (Which I had my other piercings from).

I got a lobe piercing here today and the nurse who pierced me was absolutely amazing! I didn’t get her name but she was so patient and kind. Her colleague was also incredible as she pierced scared children’s ears in the next room. She truly made them feel comfortable. The only negative was that there was a creepy dude hovering around while I got my piercing— I’m not sure if he worked there or not, but it was a bit strange.

I made an appointment to have my second lobe piercings done at this Rowan location. The employees were very friendly and welcoming. But unfortunately the nurse giving the piercings did not do a great job making sure that my new piercings were even or far enough away from my first lobe piercing. I had mentioned to the nurse that I didn’t think they were even and she said she would not draw new dots, but instead she would aim the piercing gun higher. It wasn’t until I got home and put earrings into my first lobe piercings that I noticed they were touching my new earrings.

Everyone in there was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!Took my 1yr old for her piercings and I loved that they had a private section in the back where they were able to close the door and give my baby more of a private moment! I can’t believe I didn’t get the lady that helped us name (I was nervous for my baby) but she was so gentle and kind. I just love my experience in there.

Fremina did an incredible job with piercing my conch! I was so nervous but she helped me pick the right jewelry including style for my specific ear. She walked me through the whole process and eased my nerves. The piercing turned out so beautiful ❤️

I went to get my ears double pierced. Nurse Amanda did an Amazing job on them! The store was very clean and more affordable than other places I’ve looked! I got my ears pierced with the device and it didn’t hurt for more than a few seconds. I absolutely love the way my piercings look and I will definitely recommend Rowan!

I took my 5 year old to get her ears pierced for her birthday and we had a stellar experience from start to finish. Online booking was a breeze, and nurse Amanda made us feel welcome and comfortable the whole time. She was so kind and patient with my daughter and did an absolutely meticulous job of making sure the dots on her ears were in a good place. Her ears have healed so well in the weeks following her piercing. Highly recommend!

I was treated by Amanda today. She was very professional and friendly, and made sure I was feeling comfortable. The process of piercing was very quick, mostly painless, and the explanation of aftercare was thorough and informative. 100% would recommend and will be returning.

I dropped by last week to obtain information on piercings, prices, etc. Fremina was so helpful and explained everything to me. That made me feel so comfortable to get piercings done. I booked my appointment for a week later (which was literally yesterday). I got both ears pierced on the lobe (by needle) by Fremina. I definitely recommend her!Only one star less because its very expensive service and jewelry. I got the needle done, bought cleaning spray, and 2x 14k CZ flat back earrings. I left paying $310 (includes tax but not including tip). I definitely felt happy with the service and may come back again for future piercings.

Disappointed with the customer service. As a business that markets piercing by nurses, I felt comfortable going into ask questions regarding my piercings and possibly get a piercing. After explaining to 2 staff members that I recently had a medical procedure and had to take my jewelry out, I proceeded to ask what they would recommend as far as if I needed it repierced, if it had closed up or if they could look at it and see if it was still open. The immediate response was “Wow, that sucks”. To me, that is extremely unprofessional and honestly not too helpful. I was assuming that nurses would have some insight into this. I left with no answers after I repeated my questions and getting dirty looks. If you have any questions about your piercings I do not recommend asking employees. Piercings were very cute, but disappointed because I would never go back due to the level of care, knowledge, customer service and the high level of discomfort I felt. Google seemed to be more helpful.

We came to Rowan to get my daughter’s ears re-pierced. The first time they were pierced at Claire’s and the holes were not even. The staff at Rowan was very knowledgeable and awesome.

I am blown away by this place!! I brought my 4.5 year old daughter here tonight to check the place out. She has been begging to get her ears pierced, and decided she was feeling brave. They made her feel so comfortable and she decided to get her ears pierced! They had such adorable earrings to pick from. There was only 1 nurse working tonight, but they did let her know that if she preferred to have both ears pierced at once, then they could book that for another day. My daughter was comfortable enough that she wanted to go ahead and do them tonight and just do 1 ear at a time. Alyssa was the nurse who pierced and she was so great! She made sure my daughter was comfortable every step of the way, and always reminded her that she did not have to do it if she was uncomfortable. My daughter is SO happy with her pierced ears - was a 10/10 experience!

Super awesome spot — clean, efficient and licensed nurses do the piercings! Jen was great!! Cost is at or less than other spots we’ve gone for piercings. Highly recommended!

CHECK THE STUDS BEFORE THE PIERCING.If you visit the Kenwood store make sure you verify the studs are correct! Never once did anyone verify , check or show me what studs were picked… I was left with paying $288 for REAL DIMOND in my 4 month olds ears. After contacting support I’m being told I requested them! Awaiting camera footage and audio. Customer service is saying they are unable ti help. Leaving me to pay for someone else’s mistake! BEWARE!!!!!

Their use of piercing guns is dangerous, unsanitary, and trashy, and their jewelry quality is questionable at best. The bottom line, nurses arent piercers and this isnt a piercing shop. Go to a nurse when youre sick, but go to a real piercer (at a quality shop, with quality jewelry) when you want a piercing. Rowan is a glorified claires, designed to take money from uneducated Hyde Park moms.

This review would have been wayyyyy different if not for Jen! I was referred here by a friend and was so excited. I immediately found a cute pair of earrings and wanted to make an appointment. After paying I found out that the earrings I bought were unable to be used for piercing and I would have to buy another pair because they have a no refund or exchange policy??! Everything was very poorly explained and I was trying my best to not be upset. Jen saved the day by being so caring, taking time to listen to the miscommunication, and try to come up with a solution. In the end, I got my doubles pierced and Jen did a great job! I’m so appreciative of the way she heard me out and wanted to come up with a solution (:

Liz helped me, and it was quick, mostly pain-free, and fun. She listened to what I wanted and even a little extra backstory, walked me through each step, and gave me different options for placement. I left with clear care instructions and some Rowan swag to celebrate the new store and my new look! The staff seems to be enjoying their work, and they trust each others skills enough to get piercings from each other at the shop, too (right before I arrived!).Tips:-If your heart is set on a specific piece of jewelry, call ahead to double check its in stock.-If youre a grown up, this is not like where you got your childhood piercing, but there are also lots of kids and teens around. Its all ages!-Dont forget tax, tip, and any cleaning products, etc., if youre trying to price things out before you go.

They use a gun piercer for cartilage and my cartilage piercing that i just got jewelry change to their hoops, the hoops turned black and hurt! My piercings there were healed and fine before they put jewelry in (fake stuff)

Do NOT go here!!!! Their marketing is awesome and makes them seem so appealing, but they do not offer what they advertise. Their posters advertise several types of earring piercing (conch, tragus, forward helix) and when we asked they said they don’t have anyone trained to do those piercings and won’t for the next 6 months. They only offer lobe and helix. They also didn’t have a piercer trained with a standard needle on a Saturday? They only had someone who knew how to use the piercing gun. We scheduled a “needle appointment”, if you don’t have someone there to do needle piercings why have it as an option when scheduling?You have to schedule an appointment so we had a 7:30PM appointment and didn’t get pierced until 8:40PM. Waited over an hour, half of which was spent waiting for them to pierce a baby. The experience could have been easier Claire’s!My friend was the one who got pierced and the nurse, Amanda, said she didn’t know where to mark the piercing due to where my friend’s first holes were so I showed her where to put it.As someone who has been to several piercing shops by legit piercers, I would STRONGLY recommend just going to a certified tattoo/piercing parlor instead. Any place that offers “device” piercings is a red flag.

By far the worst customer service ever. Earrings are horribly cheap, cause infections, way overpriced. Ears get infected and then you try to get a resolution and they try to push you to a 1800 number160.00 down the drain. Stay clear from this place
