If i could give this place zero stars i would. two of my friends went there and got completely scammed. both paid $300 for their tattoos, one of them is in so much pain and bruised and scarred horribly. the other friend is fine but paid WAYYY too much for her tattoo. the floral tattoo looks beautiful 24 hours later but not $300 worth. artists did decent work but quoted both of them around $150 prior and then after everything was said and done they both got charged $300.

Specifically, Zoe was a great help to me. They went through septum jewelry for me on two occasions to help me find the right one despite them knowin they had very few options. They always make me feel welcomed!

Disappointed with my experience here highly unsatisfactory . Relies to up charge their customers . 2 piercings that cost roughly $186+... Draining!Informing those to Travel to Richmond (Lucky 13) for better service & professionalism.

I go to the Southpark Mall location for Ear Piercings. Lynn is my piercer. I absolutely love her & partially addicted. She is very precise, quick & accurate. Very knowledgeable & gives great advice. I have gotten on both ears: conch, rook & tragus. I also have a flat on the left. Visiting again soon for more piercings 😂

Came from California to visit my sister so we went to go get tattoos and I am absolutely in love with mine!! Ive gotten tattoos from all sorts of places but this was one of the better ones they deserve a lot of credit! So much love from California 💜💜💜💜

My daughter got her nose pierced here and they were great. The whole process was explained before getting started including after care and when she can change the jewelry. No hidden cost - we were aware of prices of jewelry and service minus tax before we went back. We will definitely be back!

I’ve gotten tattoos and piercings from here and haven’t been disappointed. My tattoos are always done well (I usually go to Pat) and the piercer is so kind and talks me through the whole process. They took their time to do the placement and I love my piercings!

Got my ear lobes pierced at RCT. The techs were super helpful and professional. The tech made sure to check with me that I was happy with the placement before piecing and it was done in less than 10 minutes. Definitely recommend them for piercings!!

Got there and was immediately helped. I went there to get my 7year old son ears peirce. The lady who peirce my sons ears was cool AF. Made my son feel comfortable and made sure that I was satisfied with the piercing. Hope she got the tip I left.Definitely would recommend.

Laura pierced my septum and it was amazing! They have a great jewelry selection and the guy at the front was nice! The piercing it self took less than 10 minutes to do and Laura was very good at explaining all that was going to happen. The jewelry fits perfectly and its healing super well.

I stopped by pretty late in the evening in hopes of getting either a conch or helix piercing. The front desk assistant provided excellent service, suggestions, and advice and was very friendly. Lyn also offered excellent service and advice and did an excellent job with the conch piercing, as usual. (I have gotten my nostril, eyebrow, and septum pierced by Lyn, and every piercing/piercing experience has been excellent.) Other than waiting in line, it only took about 10 minutes to fill out the paperwork and get pierced. I highly recommend this establishment and Lyn specifically for all your piercing needs.

Lyn did a fantastic job with my little girls ears! She was so nice and communicated well with us (parents) and my daughter. She gave my daughter this cute certificate and included a couple other little cute goodies as well as your typical educational pamphlet for keeping it all clean, absolutely made my daughter’s experience a great one to remember! She was so excited to see the extra goodies and her shiny new earrings! Definitely recommend, and will keep this place in mind for any other piercing needs!

The wait was hours long...which was expected as a walk-in. However when the time came to get the tattoo, the artist took over 45 minutes to transfer the design to the traceable paper (it was a 5 lube quote, 4 small shapes and 4 music notes) then said it would be another 10 minutes to go in the back. Whatever,.....waited then he came back in from being outside smoking to then say he didnt have time to do it...after waiting hoursss!!

The receptionist and the piercer today for a triple helix piercing. They were absolutely amazing and professional. The receptionist was so caring and thorough and helped me make my decision quick and promptly. The piercer was so friendly and detailed and really made sure they did it right. I should have gotten their names. Will upload a picture when it’s done healing. Thanks so much for a great experience. You guys rock. I’m truly amazed. Of all pericing shops I’ve been to, this was the best experience I’ve had.

Lynn pierced my nose & my sons nose. She did an amazing job. It was very quick and she explained everything about the piercing and aftercare. Very clean technique. Got the most beautiful tattoos done here by one of the artists there. I hate that I forgot his name... Dan maybe 🤷🏾‍♀️. All I remember is that we have the same birthday and was vibing. His professionalism was impeccable and the guys in front were dope.

We took our granddaughter to get her nose pierced. She had been waiting months and was so excited. Well, the man who greeted us was so rude. He couldnt even say hello, how are you, welcome...nothing. Told him what we wanted, filled out the paperwork. Granddaughter was taken back and her nose was pierced. When time to pay, that same man said Dont you want to leave a $10.00 tip? When we replied no, he snatched the bill out of my husbands hand. He turned what should have been a happy time into a terrible experience. I would not recommend Colonial Heights location. Hope that man enjoyed ruining my granddaughter excitement.

I got shark bites by Lynn this afternoon. This involves four separate piercings in the lip. She took her time making sure all four were perfectly symmetrical and used two types of jewelry for the different positions. She is very skilled and professional. They came out great and would 10/10 recommend anyone considering a piercing to ask for her by name.

We received matching cousins tattoos.I thoroughly enjoyed my conversation and interaction with the tattoo artist John. And he made quick work of the tattoos.Would highly recommend!

I got my nose pierced for the first time here today.The staff and the piercer was super nice! It was really quick, in & out. My nose piercing is beautiful, no complications. The swelling & redness went away less than a hour.

Whomever answered the phone today just lost yall a lot of business. Im coming from Maryland trying to spend money and the guy was very condescending and didnt even know where to find Nigel. Then laughed as if he was doing something. Needless to say Ill use Lucky 13 or City Limits. These people are unprofessional and Ill take my money/business else where.

I came here to change up the norm and got a belly ring. Well the lady who pierced me had such a foul attitude about me being nervous that it made the thrilling impalement quite disappointing. On top of that she went crooked so now my jewel sits slightly to the left. Thanks for the quality.

I love this place. got my tongue pierced here about a month or 2 ago and recently got my belly button pierced here. the piercers are all chill as hell and talk you through it to distract you. if you dont have to wait on a piercer, youre in and out in less than 10 minutes. definitely coming here for more piercings/tats in the future.

My husband took our 7 year old to get her ears pierced. Excellent piercer! No tears and she wasn’t afriad. I highly recommend parents to consider tattoos shops for ear piercings. Their equipment is sterile and the technique is not as terrifying as a piercing gun. Thank you River City!

I got a tattoo from Shorty and it was awesome! Great detail, color was brilliant, listen to everything that I wanted and he deffinetly delivered! A 5 hour tattoo cost me only 250.00! Again a great value! Will definitely will be coming back for my husbands tattoo for his birthday!

Ignore the terrible customer service reviews. Artists arent psychic and if you dont know what you want, they cant choose for you so if youre unprepared its gonna be a little irritating to try to get out what you want and draw the stensils 3 different times (like what I did... Sorry) The artist was very helpful and gave me great instructions on how to treat my new tattoo. It was my first time, and I plan to see them again for my second.

I went during the month of January and got my surface tragus and nose piercing and literally a month after my nose ring started to get a keloid which I didn’t know why because I was cleaning it how I was supposed to then, a couple weeks later my surface tragus started to get a keloid, I don’t know if it’s the piercings they use but I wouldn’t recommend here. I have another nose ring I got years ago and it hasn’t got infected a keloid or anything and I’ve knocked that piercing out and everything, nothing had happened to that but for some reason these two piercings were not going so well. They didn’t discuss with me anything about different piercing jewelry’s either and my friend went and her nose ring also gotten an bump on it I WOULDNT RECEIVED HERE.

I went here to get a nose piercing and the lady that did it was very rude and accused my friend of recording when she didn’t. Then the piercing came out because the lady pierced my nose all the way to the side and it looked very unflattering. I went back the next day to get it re done and the lady had a nasty atttidude basically blaming it all on me and re did the piercing for free which was nice. But she re-pierced it very rough to the point my nose was dripping blood. Then as she walked towards the other people working there, they made smart comments to eachother about them re-piercing my nose because i was dissatisfied. They are lucky that i did not stoop down to their level, and that i didn’t get very disrespectful because i kept it very professional. I’m disgusted with their customer service skills and i will never come here again.

I got my belly button pierced here today and they did amazing. She talked to me the entire time to distract me. Its a clean place. Watched her take the needle out and sterilize it and everything. most definitely coming back

We went during a busy time with on a Saturday. Madison the receptionist was amazing and made sure every person was greeted and taken care of without missing a beat. Piercing area was clean and tech was professional

Me and my husband got our tattoos here and I love how they turned out it’s been over a year and my color is still the same like I just got it done the first day my husbands looks good to still

I used to love this place and went there for years. Got my PA done in January 2020, had to go back and get it redone a few months later because it was done incorrectly. I go back every few months to try and get the jewelry replaced, and EVERY TIME they tell me to comeback tomorrow, but i guess tomorrow never comes because when i go back the next day, guess what they say? Come back tomorrow. Im NEVER going back

Rude as hell. Fat dude at the front has a attitude problem and dont know how to talk to customers. And the lady who did my piercing was a sweetheart until she got paid. I called this morning because my ball fell out of my piercing and she was very nonchalant about the situation. F this place. I wont return there are plenty of other people friendly tattoos and piercing shops around. But maybe this was jus my experience...idk but either way they wont receive another penny out of my pockets.

Piercer was very nice and did a great job. Love her! But the cashier wasn’t friendly at all and was very rude from when I walked to when I left. Wish the customer service was better because they did a great job. :(

Went to get a gift certificate for my daughter for Christmas was told she needed to come in and pick it out first. ( its Christmas what kind of surprise is that ) The girl at the front desk could have told me 300 and that’s what I would have gotten. Just wanted to be in a mile stone hundred five or take since I would be with her when she got it if it cost more. I said I needed a little scorpion very basic it’s her birth sign and not a lot of detail (black ) since it’s her first tattoo. Showed her the size it would be. So instead of making a sell that could have been even more later I just needed a basic amount to get. Lost a costumer for sure she was a really rude person to talk to. Every time I tried to speak she over spoke me as if she didn’t want to deal with me at all. I have 26 myself and just because mine were all hidden at the point I know what I can and can not usually get at a shop. Sad part is my friends warned me about a shop inside a mall to begin with but we r now on a new base in a new town hope to find some better people to work with....however isn’t that the artist money that just walked out the door.

Walked into river city tattoo looking to get a piercing and the man up front was very rude as soon as we walked in. Continued to have us repeat what we wanted to get pierced and told me the price. He then asked for my id, walked to the back and brought out a sheet of paper and told me “fill this out”. I ended up backing out of the process because I felt uncomfortable and awkward and let him know I was no longer interested. He then proceeds aggressively take the paper out of my hand and says “i don’t care, whatever”. It was very disappointing because my friend recommended this place for piercings and the brief experience I had was extremely discouraging. I have also heard they over price for tattoos, especially if you’re military.

Went with a friend to get a tattoo and was told I couldnt go in the back with them. When inquired about why I couldnt go in the back to see my friend get the tattoo, we were informed no one was allowed in the room other than the tattoo artist and the customer because that was the shops rules. Mind you, the room across from where my friend was there was a customer getting a tattoo with someone in there. To make matters worst as I was waiting for my friend to get her tattoo, another lady was getting one and asked if her friend could come with her and the other employee allowed it.With that said, It was confusing because which one is it? Do you allow other people to in the back to be with their friends and family or not. If its a shop rule than all employees should be on one accord. I know a few people who would love to make a discrimination case out of it. All im saying is that if youre going to allow people to go back with their friends or family than all employees should be on one accord.Other than that my friends tattoo was nice.

Love my new tattoo! I was in and out in under an hour. My tattoo artist was great and fast! He has great prices and does a good job at that Im very satisfied with his work and will continue to come back for any tattoo.

Received a belly button piercing. I was scared that it would hurt, she soothed me, and the next thing I know she had it done ✔️. She should go to college and major in psychology, she really was great at calming nervous people.

They pierce great but they tattoo really bad! literally looks like a stick and poke tattoo.. some parts are like missing it’s just truly god awful and the person who did this does not need to pick up another tattoo needle

Came in to get a new horseshoe for my septum and had it put in for me, and ended up paying almost $30, but when i went to lucky 13 in richmond i got 2 new pieces of nose jewelry and had them both put in for only $20.. other than it being expensive the customer service was decent UPDATE: the owner reached out personally, which most shops wouldn’t do, so i appreciate that!

Im 13 and today i got a bellybutton piercing (ofc my mom needed her id) and I loved it. It didnt really hurt but other than that the service was great and I would definitely recommend getting a piercing here

Went there and the tattoo guy was so rude. Rude to adults and rude to the child that was with us. People go to these places because they want something that this business offers, not going there to get your unsolicited opinion or you telling us how someone will act as you do not know what someone has been through. Terrible for business!!

I told them I wanted a lip ring, as in a hoop. They told me they wouldnt pierce it that way, that theyd pierce me with a post. Then, the WAY they pierced me, I cannot have a hoop AND I cant even have a normal length post, I have to have the length of the initial piercing post. I found that out after they switched posts on me and it tore up my lip and I had to go somewhere else who had to use pliers to get the short piercing unscrewes. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND RIVER CITY TO ANYONE!

After going to several different shops trying to find someone to do a cover up tattoo that wasnt a flower I came to river city. I met with Dave and after speaking with him for 20 or 30 mins he gave me insight and other options to cover the tattoo up. We decided on an owl as a covet up over a hidious star. He kept in contact with me all week leading up to the tattoo and sent me his sketch as well. He was very nice and informative. Just got back ftom getting the tattoo which took 5 hrs. He did AMAZING work. So much more then I could have hoped for. I am no longer ashamed of my tattoo and ready to show this off on my wedding day. For being a big guy he was very easy handed. He was amazing in every way from start to finish. Thank you Dave :)

I got my tongue pierced here. The staff is rude, and they messed up to where a piece of my tongue was hanging around the piercing. It ended up being swollen again even when I did clean it properly on a daily basis.

Very racist, very disrespectful, and completely unprofessional! I went there twice and both artists were rednecks and gave the run around about simple tattoos as if my money wasnt good enough!! I wouldnt recommend to anyone that isnt white!!!

I went into River City for a piercing at the recommendation of a tattoo artist at Tantrum’s. The customer service was excellent. I had numerous questions and all of my questions were answered to my satisfaction. I would highly recommend River City.

LOVED this place lynn has been giving me piercings for 5 years but today i went in for a tattoo waited two and a half hours only for them to switch my artist twice put a couple before me and then tell me they were too close to closing so they couldn’t anymore so that’s the end of that’s the end of me ever supporting this shop

I have one tattoo from them and I hate it. I have to get it fixed, the rest of my tattoos (17) were not done here. Way better price and places then here. But the reason they are getting is a 3 star is because they do my pieces, they have done all of mine (9).

The owner beat me up and slammed me into pillars when I asked to apply for a job there. Also the owner is gang affiliated. He destroyed my iPad and stuff and threw it in the road. I’m suing City limits. Unless you want to be killed or serverely injured by them, then proceed to their shop. They never paid for my iPad and Colonial Heights Police are corrupt. They did nothing

About two monthes ago i got my nose rip there and they were really safe and sanitized there and I havent gotten any infections and today I got a tattoo they were so polite and very clean and careful with there equipment i recommend them

My husband got a tattoo there and it looks awful. A very simple tattoo. We had to go somewhere else for a touch up because they went crazy when he told them it looked bad.
