Gold Rush Tattoo

Got a tattoo from Travis. It is my worst tattoo yet. Paid $350 for it and it is sloppy and the worst Tattoo I’ve ever received. Go somewhere else. I would never go spend money here again. Everything about this seems sloppy. Through the whole process I asked Travis if he thought he could do it and he said yes. I walked away with a tattoo that needs covering.Update: I got it covered up! Best decision I ever made!Side note: I tip because I’m a decent human being that respects someone’s time, not because the work is amazing.

Mike was awesome! I walked in and got a little tribute for my grandmother, who recently passed away.

Great experience. Joel Bones is highly skilled and very friendly atmosphere unlike many other shops I have been too. This is where to go for quality work and people.

Came here to get a tattoo in 2020 didn’t realise tattoos aren’t supposed to feel like huge scars until a tattoo artist I went to recently for a new tattoo told me it is not supposed to feel like this and that the artist went way too deep and it’s blown out. If you’re not comfortable with fine line or lettering you shouldn’t accept the job. If I ever wanted to get this removed i couldn’t since it’s an elevated scar. Sad to see after all this time but glad to know not to come back to this shop!

Got my first real (machine) tattoo here and Im in love. Came in as a walk-in today (Friday) and they were able to get me in on the spot. Super friendly and welcoming atmosphere and the woman who helped me at the front was very knowledgeable and helpful. My artist was @onelungjustin and he made the entire experience as painless as a tattoo can be. Incredibly professional, great attitude, and an even better artist. He talked me through the whole process ahead of time and made sure I knew exactly what I was getting before getting to work. Felt super comfortable and relaxed the entire time and the end result is amazing. Highly recommend this place and will be back very soon.

Justin has done 3 tattoos so far for me (he is actually the only artist I went to again because I had such a great experience) and I have loved every one. He can take an idea and completely run with it, making it even better (for example, the cowboy frog came from this very basic outline of a frog wearing a western hat). He also has a great, easy-going personality and can make people feel assured they are in good hands as well as making sure you are doing good throughout.That all being said, the shop itself has a great vibe and all the artists seem to be great and extremely likable. They can joke around, talk about whatever and involve their customers/clients making you feel at ease and like youre just around your friends, but at the same time are true professionals and are serious and focused when it comes to the artwork. One of the things that always turned me off shops in the past is when you walk in and have those artists and such that try way too hard to be tough and masculine to clients as if they have to prove something, but Gold Rush and its artists are in no way like that, which is something I can really appreciate.I have only had great experiences and highly recommend the shop to anyone looking to get some tattoo work. Whether it is your first tattoo or an addition to many more, Gold Rush is your place!

Gold Rush was great! The people were nice, the artists really listened, and their hours are super convenient. I was in SoCal for just a week’s vacation and my guy worked me in twice!

Pass by shop every day so decided to check it out and see if I can add another spot to my collection. I describe what I wanted and the receptionist goes back and forth and tells me the price will be $150! I was shocked and I asked again if she said $150 and she confirmed and that I had to put a deposit towards it to book my appointment and to note that if I miss it and/or not call to advise I am arriving little late I will forfeit it. I am cool with that and wait for the day.I get there, the guy that does the tattoo seems chill and gets to work. A lot of beautiful pain to get something I wish I had the balls to do in my early years. After the job was done I was ready to pay but he gives me a different number. He comes to $375!!!! I was not happy and struggled a bit but just decided to just pay (since I didnt bring the paper that said the price I basically screwed myself there or else I could get arrested. I liked the artwork but not for that price. This is why I asked.Lesson of the story, take a picture of the quote you were given and when your appointment comes, double check the price that you agreed. If they come back saying differently, dispute it and dont be afraid to stand your ground. You can say no thats not what you agreed and they may threaten that youll lose your deposit but you have documentation that the price was quoted differently (Hate being a Karen/Kevin but video record the conversation and have them repeat the new price they are giving you and take them to court.I know I should have done these steps but my phone was dead by middle of job, I didnt have my paperwork and I was not expecting to be ripped off in the last minute so hope that this works as a PSA.

Was so happy to see that they had moved downstairs and expanded their shop. My daughter and I went in for a small rose on both our wrists. It was my first tattoo. Travis was so patient and kind, answering all questions and redesigning mine due to the difference in our skin (age). Im so happy with the results, and will definitely be going back. Highly recommend this place.

My first experience at Gold Rush was awesome! Brynne designed and tattooed me last month after I reached out to her with a few ideas that I had for my 2nd tattoo. She was AMAZING throughout the entire experience. Shes an incredible artist, fun, patient, very cool to chat with during the 2 hours I was there. Her design was more than I imagined and everything that I loved. It was perfectly thought out.The shop is very clean, and all who work there were very professional and nice. This is the place to go for your tattoo artist.

This was resolved amicably. Read my edit at the end. Sad experience with this place. Got double booked and embarrassed in the lobby on my wifes birthday. Asked us who we booked with, i say the receptionist. The other party says the artist. After they decided they could rush my wifes tattoo before the other person my wife was like no thanks, keep your rushed tattoo. Was made to pay a deposit for my appointment the other party did not have to. I asked for my deposit back since we kept our appointment and the store screwed up but they still havent returned it despite me calling and leaving a message for the artist. Dont book your appointment with anyone other than the artist. People at front answering phones are obviously incompetent. Give me a call if you want to make it right. Im open to it. You should have my number, you had no problem charging my credit card. Update- we finally got in contact with the owner who was very gracious about returning our deposit after hearing out story. I received 100% of my deposit back. What happened could not be changed but I feel like the owner made it as right as it could be made. Even offering to do the tattoo himself. Kudos to you as a stand up business owner. Changed my star rating from a 1 to 3 for his efforts.

Great staff and very friendly was a little nervous because it was my first time but justin did a awesome job definitely will be back for other tattoos oh and the place was clean and sterile.

I was looking for a good tattoo shop in Orange County. A few people recommended I go to Gold Rush Tattoo and see Colin Dowling. I went to the website, looked at his profile and really liked what I saw. I met him for a consultation and the shop was rad, super clean and everyone there was really helpful. I showed Colin the tattoo I wanted to fix up and bring to life. He had a lot of great ideas cause I went in clueless on what to do with it. I loved his thoughts on it, he seemed to really know what I was going for. Booked my appointment, got my tattoo today! He changed a tattoo I was tired of and brought it back to life by adding in some vibrant colors and detailed line work. He’s the dude I’m going to for all of my tattoos! Stoked!

Travis was my tattoo artist, my mom and I went in together. Amazing job and super welcoming atmosphere, got 3 minimal design tattoos. Very reasonably priced and just overall an amazing experience to have had with my mom. She got 2 tattoos and a touch up from Justin. Amazing work from both

This is the ONLY shop I go to when I want a piece done. Everyone that works here is extremely professional, talented, and kind. My first piece was a monster and took 7 hours to complete; Colin was my artist and I asked him to make the concept idea I had his own, and he blew it out of the park! Wonderful artist. I had Joel do a small rib piece for me, and Brynn recently did a forearm floral walk-in tat for me. Everyone Ive worked with has been unbelievably wonderful to me. The facility is super clean too. A good tattoo doesnt come cheap, no matter how small, but the pricing here is super fair! Not exactly cheap, but youre not being insanely overcharged. If you go to any shop expecting super cheap prices, then youll end up with a super cheap tattoo. I recommend this place to anyone that asks for a tat shop!

Justin was awesome! I rolled in there 30 minutes before they closed and he banged out a sweet tattoo for me. He was very talkative and we had a great time just chatting. Everyone there was super nice and professional and the place was really clean. I just moved here from South Carolina and will definitely be back. So happy its so close to my new place!

I have had several pieces done by Brynne dating back to 2014. She always listens to exactly what I want, and tells me if something wont work. Shes a master of her craft. Creates beautiful forever art and is a cool person to hang with!Side note. Gold Rushs new location is beautiful, spacious and nicely decorated with the best AC.

Got tattooed by Brynne a couple of weeks ago and had such a great experience! Brynne was able to work with my idea, and the tattoo design came out WAY BETTER than I could have dreamt. I felt super comfortable and taken care of in the shop. Didn’t catch her name but the front desk/apprentice gal was super nice. Brynne was absolutely amazing to work with, and I hope to get more work done by her in the future. Lots and lots of talented folks here. Highly recommend!

Brynne is great. Ive got 8 tattoos from her and every single one is well done, beautiful, and she has a light hand compared to other artists Ive been to. Shes also super sweet and fun to talk to, which can make the whole process a LOT easier to sit through.Gold Rush is very clean and well-kept. Ive heard great things about the other artists, too. Well worth the cost!

My sister and I went in and was met by Brynne who was super nice from start to finish. My sister had found her on IG and wanted to meet with her. She was professional yet easy to talk to and gave her professional opinion without shooting down ideas rudely which you get sometimes other places. She ended up working on my sister and it turned out amazing. (No pic sorry) simply to save on time I asked if someone else was available to work on mine since it was just some text and thankfully Marc was available. He was equally kind and professional. He drew up exactly the font I wanted, we were done pretty quickly and I turned out perfect. I got my first shop tattoo at Gold Rush 10 years ago when I was 18 and have been impressed yet again after all this time. Thank you Brynne and Marc. I will definitely send friends and family and will surely be back myself.

Booked a two day appointment with Gabe. Flying from Mass to Houston. Last minute gifted second day to my assistant, Gabe was so accommodating. Thus, couldn’t get my full half sleeve done. Asked Gabe, recommend anyone to wrap me up?! My first experience here was with Brynne. She did a cover up for me and exceeded my expectations. She was really gentle. I was so nervous initially because my original tattoo hurt really bad when I first got it and there was so much scarring over it. But coming here and having Brynne cover it up, it didn’t hurt as much- even on my scars! The quality of the tattoo is really great too. I’m so happy with the outcome. I’ll definitely be coming back for more tattoos.

Walked upstairs to Gold Rush Tattoo and was really impressed from the get go. This shop really understands how to craft a whole experience and keep a clean shop. Their artists are all top notch with strengths in different styles of tattoo work and the entire place has a fun and professional environment. Other shops Ive been to have that were just starting out vibe or that shop on the corner vibe and Gold Rush definitely looks like its been Established Since 2006. I got work done by Colin who is at the top of his game yet he remains friendly and approachable. I looked through everyones books in the waiting area and truly was blown away by what each tattooer had to offer. Will definitely be back to Gold Rush.

I got a tattoo done by Brynne today and it is AMAZING. Like the exact thing I wanted was what I got. She works clean and fast and shes super nice. I wish I was rich so I could just keep getting tatted by her. Its my first color piece and the colors look so pretty and the linework and shading is on point.A side note about the shop. While I was getting my tattoo, I was one of four people in the shop that I could see and three were women. I just thought that was cool. Unlike some other shops, everyone is nice, respectful, and friendly. No creepy weirdos here!Thank you Brynne for an awesome tattoo and thank you Gold Rush for being good people!

Just turned 70 and gave myself a BD present. My first tattoo. Got an appointment with Marc Jackson. He was ready for me with my art work when I arrived.It was exactly what I wanted. ( a dragon with a small wizard. ) He was very professional and made sure I was comfortable with the procedure. Did an awesome job. Ive been wanting to get another tattoo for a while so a few years ago I spent a lot of time researching the best shop and artist in OC. Gold Rush Tattoo and Joel were at the top of my list. At the time I was unable to get a tattoo for personal reasons. A few years later I did extensive research again and came to the same conclusion. I finally got my tattoo at Gold Rush Tattoo with Joel and I LOVE IT! The staff at the shop is very friendly and knowledgeable. It was easy to make an appointment and they answered all of my questions. Joel is the best tattoo artist I’ve come across. He has many years of experience and knows his craft. He loves what he does. My tattoo took about five to six hours and I was watching him work the entire time. This was my first color tattoo and I was fascinated about the process and color application. My tattoo healed really well and its amazing. I wont go to any other artist and Ive already recommended Joel to my family and friends. I constantly get compliments on my tattoo; and even people who dont like any tattoos said that its beautiful. I cant wait to get another tattoo done by Joel. I highly recommend Gold Rush Tattoo, especially Joel.

My overall interaction was great...until it came time to pay. I was more than happy to pay the ATM fee but the atm was out of cash...I included the tip with my card and they still charged me extra.

I needed color added to an old tattoo. Brynne did an amazing job. The color is gorgeous, plus she added a little extra to make it pop even more. The shop was clean, I felt comfortable and I was in and out efficiently.I would highly recommend Brynne and Goldrush Tattoo.

First time coming here at Good Rush Tattoo and boy was i amazed the place is nice the waiting room is Small but thats alright. I got 2 tattoos one on each arm of some Anime Characters. The tattooing area is filled with Nice vibes all of sort. The smell of The place does smell like Marijuana but theres a smoke shop rigjt underneath the place and i gave that a plus i love the smell sort of a Calming smell in my opinion. Got my Art work Done by the one and only (Nick) he did a very outstanding performance with the Art he was very professional at all times got the Job done and I couldnt be any more happy with it. Aaron was my artist and i wished he lived near me so he could be my go to guy. i was visiting from washington and decided to get a tattoo to remember my trip. i just wanted a lil elephant on my finger but instead Aaron drew an awesome elephant head to be placed on my arm. not only was i happy with my tattoo but with the experience the guys there definitely made me comfortable and were very welcoming! if your in the costa mesa area and need some ink done. Got a piece on my ribs by Brynne. Looks amazing, the shop costs a little more than normal places but the quality shows well worth the extra spent. If your looking to get some work done Gold Rush is a good spot, give the artist some creative license and you wont regret it.

Pretty sseedYstaff ended upnnot getting my first tattoo because of walking into rhiabplace and SRILL am afraid to get one. Honestly I think they should have their hygiene checked big time I was quite worried about Contracting some kind of disease even being in the building and I want to get a tattoo this would have been my first one sending me so nervous about it that now I still dont have one in this was like a month ago!

Asked if they could tattoo me and guy said yes and that he was gonna tattoo someone really quick. I came back 15 mins later and they locked me out. Could have just have said no. Duche!

I called to ask about prices and what time they closed and whoever answered the phone hung up on me? I guess my normal questions were offensive or something. I obviously will not be getting anything done at this shop. Why would I want someone with an attitude problem tattooing my body?

Me and my wife just got a tattoo done here just sper the moment their services was great the only down side was that we did not get tattoo from the same artis but over it was great.
