My friends and I were having a girl’s weekend in Dallas and decided we needed to get tattoos while there. We were able to book our appointments online. When we arrived we immediately felt like we were with friends! Everyone was super welcoming and we laughed the entire time we were there. All of our tattoos came out great! I will definitely be back for more tattoos! I’m sure Josh is always going to remember his new bestie ride or die from Kansas, especially since the yellow ink he was using for my touch up got splattered across the store!

I was on the ole google generator and came across this cool lookin little shop in Dallas. The reviews were great, and my interest was peaked after seeing the pics of work done and the of the shop on Google. So I drove the 2 hrs south to check it out, and I was blown away!!! This shop is in no way a street shop by any means, but its not one of those fancy tv show shops. It is the best of both worlds!! Josh, Jake, Bob and Miss Chloe are some of the nicest and most talented artists I have ever been around!! To date I have had 7 pieces done by Jake (Im currently working on a leg sleeve of all the get what you get tatoos) and my wife has had5 done by a combination of Josh, Jake and Bob. I recommend them to everyone!!! So if you are looking for some amazing art, besure to check out Lamar Street Tattoo Club and let them make a believer out of you!!

What a great place! Very friendly and helpful.Josh, the owner greeted us when we walked in. He was funny, friendly and put us at ease quickly.Jake did my tattoo. He did an amazing job. Went in with my friend whos been looking for a talented tattoo artist & Josh was friendly & attentive, even though he was in the middle of a tattoo. Waited for Jake, who consulted quickly, drew out the design, and completed the tattoo with precision & accuracy in amazing time. We are some cool cats and we had a cat-tat-trophy day, HA! What a great group of artists at Lamar Street Tattoo Club. We all celebrated milestones this year and thought it would be fun to honor that. My son got his first tattoo and my daughter got a really cute one with Chloe. She was awesome! I had mine done by Jake and my wife got hers with Bob. In all we had a fantastic time!

My friends and I had come down here for vacation and we all wanted a different tattoo done. I emailed this place seeing if they had any availability and within 5 min I received a call from them. Jake had offered what availability there was and was so helpful. We get there the next day and the shop and everyone in it was so welcoming, clean and professional. Bob had done 3 of our tattoos and Jake and done the other. They were both so kind and wanted to give us the best tattoo possible for each of us. I wish we lived in Texas just so we can keep coming back to them for more tattoos! Thank you guys so much for everything!

Jake brought my dagger tattoo to life! We collaborated together on how exactly I wanted it to look and he did it in red ink beautifully. His work is very clean, and he works gently. I was worried about it hurting, but it was very tolerable and Im just really happy with my tattoo.

First, I want to start out by saying I do very few reviews, so for me to put this up should say how satisfied I am. This place is top notch! I went in with an idea for a traditional style zodiac sleeve (Not the most traditional idea). With very rough ideas and little guidance from me, Josh nailed it! I really couldn’t be more happy with the piece! The experience was great! The shop is super clean and Josh is a great artist and a great guy! This was my first Tattoo.I had been visiting shops all over Texas, talking to friends about where they had gone and their likes and dislikes about the shops and artists. I just never had the courage to get one. Mostly it was being picky about styles or the artist was self centered or I had a problem with cleanliness of the shop. Something always stopped me.J. Hall Tattooers is Voted the Number One Tattoo shop according to the Dallas Observer speaks for itself. Their work is outstanding, the shop is clean and bold as Mr. Hall himself. Lets just say, walking in it only took a minute to decide J. Hall Gentlemen Tattooers was defiantly the place I wanted to be.I called Josh and told him I wanted a Masonic themed Tattoo and it just so happened his day was open. I made the drive and by the time I got there the design was ready and in a half hour he was laying down Ink. I was thinking stick figures and he was thinking of a piece of art.I’ll let the photos speak for themselves, it’s a clean, classy, old school shop with a Pulse. MUST SEE TATTOO SHOP IN DALLAS!! First off, the service is impeccable. You will be ushered into the building with prompt assistance and have a hand drawn sketch ready for you upon the start of your appointment. The atmosphere is welcoming and genuinely artistic. You understand these people know what theyre doing and LOVE it. Josh is an incredible tattoo artist. He was funny, incredibly kind and warm, and did my whole tattoo in an hour. He was honest and fair with his pricing and exceeded my expectations. Not only does he own the place, his daughter works at the shop with him. They have a beautiful relationship and it’s wonderful to see talent passed down in a family. And lets be honest, it can be scary trying a new artist. But he put my mind at ease from the second I sat down. He has a light hand and gave me ample breaks in between shading which was a blessing. Me and my partner will be going back for many tattoos. It has been over a year since I got my first tattoo here from Josh Hall. In that year, I managed to get 3 tattoos all within the span of 3 months! If I had more money to spend, I would have gotten more!It was very easy to schedule an appointment with Josh and he was able to take what I envisioned and create a design very quickly, ready to go, as soon as I arrived for my appointments. Originally, I was nervous as my tattoo was much bigger than a small one I had on my wrist. Josh made me feel comfortable as he answered all of my questions, concerns, and treated me with respect. He was very considerate and always checked in with me to make sure I was okay. He was quick, efficient, but also provided high quality work with great attention to detail.I love my tattoos so much, and I already know what I will be getting next. I am thankful to have found a wonderful artist who is passionate about the work he does and is a over all generous and kind human being.

I found about this shop from a flash event & got 3 tattoos on my thigh in one day. Not only impeccable service, these tattoos are amazing. Due to this service and craftsmanship, I decided to come back to Josh and finish my leg sleeve. Although my knee wasn’t the most pleasant, Josh made it as painless as possible without compromising the integrity of the tattoo. Will definitely be a regular at this tattoo shop.Just really wanted to reiterate how much the shop is amazing. They continuously run phenomenal deals with great customer service.

Went in for a cover up this evening and based on the five minute conversation Josh and I had last week, he had an awesome design ready to go when I walked in. Two hours later, my previous bad decision was gone and my new Cap Coleman inspired dragon was in it’s place. Totally awesome, totally professional and friendly as hell. I look forward to returning for more work. Justin is a pretty damn good dude as well. Thanks guys for making the whole experience so great.Update: Brought my son down to be tattooed and we both had such a great time, we ended up at J. I took my daughter here for her first tattoo. Her artist was Jake, he was super helpful and courteous with her. He made sure she was comfortable throughout the appointment and thoroughly explained after care to keep her new ink looking its best! She is very happy with how it turned out and cant wait to get back on Jakes schedule. I would highly recommend this shop if you are looking.

I came in the week before last after having emailed Josh about what I wanted done so that we could talk about pricing and sizing. I wanted something smaller when I walked into the door and still was very hesitant the days leading up to the appointment that the size of the tattoo would be huge. Oh how I was wrong! The size ended up being perfect to fill the space.Not only did Josh lead me in the right direction for the size of the piece, but for the color as well. I wanted white highlights which he advised against for ink aging purposes. I also thought I wanted less black, but the wash around the edge was exactly what this piece needed.I also am impressed with the hours and cleanliness of the shop. I asked about the hours the first time Josh and I met, and this was a carefully thought out process so that customers and his tattoo artists are giving and receiving the best work possible. The cleanliness is top notch as well since I have been in other tattoo shops in Dallas where smoking was allowed and encouraged-not at J. Hall & Co!Most tattooers want their customers out of the door as soon as the piece is done. What you will notice is that this is not the case at this tattoo shop. All of the tattooers give the client time to relax after the tattoo is done due to the adrenaline rush from the pain. This too is a carefully thought out decision because the tattooers want the clients to fully grasp the cleaning and healing process procedures.I could keep going on and on, but I am going no where else to get work done but here. It truly was the best tattoo experience ever!

This is a great shop! These guys are pros! They are down to earth and tell it like it is. The shop is super cool and the American Traditional spirit in this place is evident on the walls, no gross 90s flash here. I got tattooed by Mike and you can tell speaking with him he understands the ins and outs of science of tattooing just as much as the artistry and technique. Josh is nice as all get out and has such a fun personality. As a matter of fact they all had us laughing at one point or another. My friend and i were both tattooed and our work turned out lovely, just what we wanted. A nice touch is the paperless forms, its nice to know my information is not going to get lost in the back of a filing cabinet. All in all 10/10 experience! I will be back, no doubt.

Josh is an amazing artist that will listen and do whatever the customer ask. He will give you his honest and professional opinion on certain aspects. Hes been tattooing for over 20 years so he knows a thing or two. Ive gone there 2x now and have received a total of 4 tattoos from Josh. I have been very satisfied from his professionalism and talent. He will be the only artist I go to from now on.This shop was the cleanesr Ive ever been to.

Took the family from Illinois to Fort Worth-Dallas area for Spring Break back in April. Researched several tattoo shops, found J Hall and Co to be the best choice. Contacted J Hall several times, asking questions, then set appointment with Michael. Michael looked at my design, altered it some, came out great. Thanks to Michael for my first tattoo experience, explained everything he was doing and extremely entertaining. Thanks to J Hall and the others for the hospitality it was awesome and fun. Shop is fantastic and clean, well kept. If I get the opportunity to get back to Dallas, no doubt, I will stop in to chat or get another tattoo. Once again Thanks Michael.

Updated Review:Went back to have some additional work done, and the shop, Josh and team are still amazing as before! If you need any tattoo or laser work, Josh is your guy!I started my journey with Josh Hall about two years ago when I finally decided to begin laser treatment to remove a half sleeve on my arm and get a new tattoo. I knew this would be a long, expensive process to get what I wanted and Josh was professional and honest, outlining exactly how long would be up front and did not try to create any unrealistic expectations. When it got time to finally begin my new tattoos, Josh was very honest about what will work and look good. Besides the outstanding quality of tattoos that Josh and the other artists at the shop provide, the fact that they will tell you what will work (from a design perspective) and look good 5, 10, 20 years, is the main reason I will continue to go back. Trust your artists people, they push back because they know what will work.

Absolute peach of an establishment, food was great , loved the naan & the new chef makes me want more, just the right amount of spice and everything nice. 10/10 would CUM again. Laughs all around, never felt more at home. Love yall.

I went last Sunday for my first tattoo. Josh listened to my questions, gave me explanations for his answers and never got frustrated with me as a first-timer. My tattoo isnt extravagant, but its exactly what I envisioned. Therefore, I am really happy about it.

This was my first tattoo. We walked in & Josh immediately greeted us. I showed him the idea of what I wanted. He directed me to Justin. Justin saw my idea, of incorporating my two favorite teams KC Chiefs & Royals. We looked thru some pics online & decided where it should go. He said give me 20 minutes to draw it & well go from there. When I saw his design it was 1000 times better than my idea. Ive had numerous compliments on the tattoo. Everyone was very friendly at the shop. The place was clean, even the restroom is clean & the music was great. Thanks Justin! If I ever find the nerves to get another one lol Ill go back to Justin!

Great experience! I was able to do a walk-in appointment in which the paperwork, tattooing, and payment was done in about 30 minutes! My travel time to and from the place technically took longer than the actual time spent in the shop! I will note that I got a small tattoo (likely less than 3 inches in height), so that plays a role in how swift this was. Chloe was very sweet and personable. Pricing was quite reasonable. I plan to come back later this week for a bigger tat!

Cannot recommended this tattoo shop enough - I would give it 10 stars if I could. We walked in with 7 people wanting tattoos and they accommodated all of us perfectly. It is clean and some of the nicest people I’ve ever met work here. I absolutely love the tattoo jake did for me. My friends who got theirs done from Bob absolutely loved theirs too. Been here only once. My very first tattoo. $200 for writing on my inner bicep area. Which I find not too expensive. You get what you pay for. They know they work, you feel very comfortable. Once you are done, you will have to just sit down for 5 minutes, get some rest. They also give aftercare supplies for FREE.For those who wonder how does it feel-->It feels like a cut is scratching your sunburned skin.

I am visiting Dallas for a couple of weeks to help out a family member, and decided on a whim to get a tattoo when I had some free time. Chose LSTC because of their focus on Traditional Style, and because they welcome walk-ins, and could not be happier. Bob Lawson did a fantastic job on the tattoo, and was super patient and accommodating while we figured out exactly what we were gonna do.The shop is clean and inviting, if you like tattoo parlors, and there is a great atmosphere. Everyone was super chill and it all made for a super positive experience. If youre looking to get some traditional work done, definitely go to Lamar Street Tattoo Club.

I had a great experience from the beginning with Lamar Street Tattoo Club! To start, I accidentally scheduled the incorrect appointment time when I made it online. I sent an email on a Monday (they were closed) and asked someone to please call me back so I could get the correct appointment time. Jake called me back promptly the next day when they were opened again and easily corrected my appointment time no big deal.When I went in for my tattoo, all the guys in there were nice and friendly and I got a good vibe all around. The place was clean, the decor was cool and fitting and Jake got right to work talking me through exactly what I wanted and offered some good advice about not just the inking itself but the future look of my tattoo for years to come.He was very friendly, efficient and professional the whole time; communicating with me, answering questions and just making good conversation in general. I even enjoyed the custom Spotify station they had playing.I would 100% recommend Lamar Street Tattoo Club to anyone who wants a reputable, clean, professional and cool place to get your ink.Id also like to give a personal shoutout to Jake for the overall wonderful experience. Where do I start!? First the shop is always super clean! Extremely well kept you can say spotless! Now as for my experience has been nothing but amazing at Lamar st tattoo club! I was told by a few friends that these guys do good work and take care of their clients well! And they werent wrong! The first time I walked in I was openly greeted. I knew exactly what I had in mind and was introduced to Scott! Hes been my guy since..! Ive done over six sessions with him now and my experience gets better every time! I get exactly what I want and how I want his work is awesome every time! comfortability is huge in places like this and I feel comfortable getting my tattoos every time Im there. All I can say is WOW, what a great experience. Josh is an amazing artist and great guy. I went to him for my first tattoo after being referred by a close friend. I was super nervous but that quickly went away, because he had me laughing from the moment I stepped into the shop. The shop is very clean, well decorated and not your average tattoo shop. The tattoo is AMAZING! All my friends love it. Even my mom loved it! Ive definitely already recommended him to some coworkers and friends. Ill be going back for any future pieces, no doubt.

I had the best experience possible at J Hall and Co Gentleman Tattooers back in November. I knew I was coming to Dallas and wanted to get a tattoo while I was here, so after doing some research I decided to book an appointment with Josh. He didnt disappoint at all, as I had the best experience possible with him.When I walked in I had a rough idea of what I wanted, but Josh was patient and really helped to make what I was thinking and visualizing in my head a reality. I got my first tattoo from Josh at the end of May this year, and I was so satisfied that I decided to get my second tattoo from him as well. I am so satisfied with both of my tattoos, that I already have plans to get a third one. I will never let anyone but Josh near me with a tattoo needle. After making an appointment and sending in the reference image, Josh took the time to explain how tattoos age and that the design that I had might not look so good in a few years. He made a few adjustments to my design, and I couldn’t be happier to know that I now have a tattoo that will look good for years to come. Thank you Josh hall for two exceptional tattoos.

Had a great experience with these guys. Scheduled a consultation with Jake. My tattoo is a half sleeve on the lower part of my arm. Showed Jake some artwork with the three elements I wanted in my tattoo. He drew up it and incorporated all of them magnificently. Took three sessions to complete. This place is amazing! Extremely clean interior, friendly staff, and unique aesthetic. Josh did my first tattoo during my visit and I am beyond impressed with the final product! Moreover, Josh took the time to guide me through the process, discussing the optimal size and location for my tattoo, as well as having great bedside manner through the inking itself! Joshs clear, and seriously humorous, communication made the entire visit a breeze! I waited until I was in my 50’s before getting my first tattoo. Did a lot of research before choosing Lamar Street Tattoo Club, the reason being their emphasis on quality. I’m deaf and I needed to feel that there wouldn’t be any issues with communication. Went for a consultation and any concerns I had were eliminated. The shop is very clean, professional and classy. Josh Hall and all the artists were very welcoming. I chose Cameron Gamel and I absolutely love my tattoo! If you want quality, that’s the place to go to. Highly recommend them!

I’ve seen Josh Hall at Lamar Street Tattoo Club for two tattoos so far and I definitely plan on coming back for more! Not only is he an incredibly talented artist, but he’s super friendly, professional and the shop is kept clean. My knowledge has also grown in the art of tattooing thanks to Josh, he’s the best!

I went in for the flash event they were doing for the summer & I had an amazing experience! The shop owner Josh was very kind and hilarious! Bob did my tattoo & I love it! Will definitely be a long time returning customer. Their dedication & craft is unparalleled.

This review is long over due. I did my research and chose Josh Hall at Lamar Street Tattoo Club. I went in about 6 months ago and showed Josh what I wanted, he explained what I wanted would have to be much bigger to get all of the detail to look right. I am very particular so we went another direction and met again a few weeks later and a new idea I loved what he came up with. I got a half sleeve with a big cross and a Celtic Knot. After 2 two hour sessions and a lot of banter it came out beautiful! I could not be happier with how it turned out. My friends and family could not believe I got a tattoo, one of my sons said he would have no problem getting the same tattoo, pretty cool complement. My wife and sons really like it and said it looks like it belongs. I forgot to say that I am 62 years old and it is my first tattoo. Josh said once you get one you will want another one. I dont think so, but if I do I will go right back to Josh! I cant say enough how he helped me through the process to the very end and it was for sure worth it. I gotta go get more short sleeve shirts!

Of the 30+ hours Ive spent in the chair getting tattooed by a number of different artists, my experiences at Josh Halls shop have been the best by far. I really have never been to another shop like it.For example, most shops (especially around Dallas) tend to have a very impersonal feel, where youre just another client going through the assembly line of shop managers and multiple artists with rock star attitudes who really couldnt care less. Definitely NOT the case here. Josh is essentially a one man show. So, hes able to provide a much better, more personal experience. Hes a great guy and really goes above and beyond to make people feel comfortable and welcome as soon as they walk in the shop. You can tell he really has a passion for the work he does. Of course, hes also an excellent tattooer who puts out beautiful, clean, solid pieces. UPDATE: Im back again! Josh has done an amazing job on a tribute to my late grandmother. I love the time I spend there and the work he does. I had the most fun getting my armpit tattooed than I could imagine. Josh provides a great tattoo and experience. He also does the fastest work I have ever had done. I booked my appointment with Josh a few weeks in advance. On the day of the appointment I arrived early and he got right to work. He explained his concerns with my idea and gave me options for making my tattoo long lasting and better quality. (Always trust the artist!) He hand drew the tattoo on my arm before he started. I liked this because it is original from the artist and not just a stencil. The shop was very welcoming and I didnt feel nervous or intimidated at all. Josh did a great job explaining everything and he made the experience a positive one. I have a great tattoo and I will be back again. I highly recommend this shop!

Me and my best friend had such a good experience here! Josh was great and created the perfect tattoo that exceeded my expectations. Everyone in the shop was so nice and made us feel comfortable as soon as we walked in. We called the day of and he fit us into his schedule!

Josh is a good dude. The atmosphere of the shop is very laid back and they do a great job with their artwork. This being my first tattoo, and it being a simple one at that (I got a constellation, so basically 22 dots), I ran into some flack from other shops (*cough* Elm Street Tattoo *cough*) who painted me a novice and therefore not worthy of their time. Josh was the complete opposite, he actually thanked me for being able to provide me my first tat.Great guy, great tattoo. 5 stars.

I have a gotten a 6 tattoos prior to the one I received today from Josh at Lamar Street Tattoo club and I can say without hesitation this was the best tattooing experience and final product that I have ever received. I drove from Houston to get my tattoo done by Josh. After looking at his work and reading his reviews, I decided it was worth the drive. The tattoo shop is awesome, and I loved the ambiance. Josh was very personable, and easy to talk to. I gave him a general idea of what I wanted, and he put together an amazing tattoo. I couldnt have been happier with the final result. Josh is extremely fast at tattooing. I came in expecting to spend 5 hours at his shop getting tattooed, and I was done within 2.5 hours. When I tell people how long it took him to do my tattoo, they cant believe it. I was very pleased with how smoothly everything went. I have received so many compliments on my tattoo already, and I will def. be coming back to Josh again in the future. Thank you Josh, its awesome!

I cant thank Michael Ghert enough for doing such a great job. He simplified the design I wanted to make it work as a tattoo. The process was way more comfortable than I expected, and its clear he really cares about the artistry of what he is doing.

This was my first visit to this tattoo shop, but it certainly wont be the last! The shop is very clean and just has such an openness to it, it feels comfortable and friendly. This shop was recommended by a few friends so I made an appointment with Jake Johnson, who was friendly and very talented! I had a difficult tattoo that I wanted and Jake did an amazing job bringing it to life. Im not completely sure what my next tattoo will be, but I will definitely be back!!

I am working on a sleeve with Jake. Man is an artist, he says he has been doing this for 27+ years. You can tell from his work that he will put every second of those 27 + years in your tattoo. I came to him with so many ideas, he does not just take your money and give you whatever you want. He will flat out reject your crazy ideas. Remember Folks, what looks good on a picture will not necessarily look good on your skin, but once he likes your ideas, he will give his 100% and give you a piece of art that anybody who sees it will inquire you about. I just have black and white tattoos, his special talent and artistry can bring the best out of anything though. The place is amazing, other artists are really good too. I was looking to have an existing tattoo covered up, and was referred to Josh Hall at J. Hall and Co. Gentlemen Tattooers. I did some research and was very impressed. A very close friend of mine took me as surprise to Josh Hall. Not only did he do a fantastic job on the cover up, he was very professional and a super nice guy. My experience at this tattoo shop was second to none. Everything from appointment making to arrival to completion was absolutely professional, friendly, clean and worth every penny spent. Mike did my tattoos and he was so helpful and patient with me. Steve and Josh were also there and very courteous. The sanitation is superior. The shop is gorgeous. We even got some excellent dining recommendations since we are from out of state. I would make the trip back to Dallas just to visit this shop and have Mike do more work for me.

I had a great experience tonight! I found out about Josh online when I knew I was going to be in Dallas for the weekend and was about to come as a walk-in. By far the best tattoo experience Ive ever had. This was not my first tattoo, but it was my first tattoo here and with Josh. I wish that I had got all of my tattoos here! Came in today to rehab a fairly large 4 year old tattoo that I was never very happy with and Josh did a great job fixing it up for me! Im much happier with the way it looks now and he worked so quickly, which was great because who wants to be in that chair forever? Quality was definitely not replaced with speed. Hilarious guy, kept me distracted as I was laying through the pain- although if you prefer silence, Im sure he wouldnt mind either way! Awesome artist, cool shop, great experience.

I had looked for a week to find a tattoo shop that was clean, professional, and had really good work and this place was it! The moment we walked in everyone was so nice and right away Josh had told me his ideas for what would work, I had an idea but he completely made my family coats of arms into something more meaningful and beautiful! Well he was working he was very friendly and talked! This was only my second tattoo but he made it feel like a whole different experience, I couldnt image what my beautiful tattoo would be if I didnt go see Josh. Phenomenal! Highly, highly recommend. I came to this shop on Christmas Eve with my daughter, who did some very thorough and impressive research. First off, the venue is excellent - felt at home immediately and everyone felt like an old friend right off the bat. She had her small custom tattoo done by proprietor Josh Hall (in record time, literally 30 seconds) and it was flawless. I had Pappy McCall do a small custom piece on my wrist as well, which was also fantastic, perfect work. This was far and away the best tattoo experience Ive ever had (and Ive had many) and I will never, ever take any friend or family (or myself) anywhere else. I cant say enough about the experience - and it WAS an experience, not merely just, Oh, I got a tattoo here. A life-altering event, top notch - this shop goes to 11. A+. Me and my girlfriend were visiting from out of state and decided to get Texas type cliche tattoos and were closest to this tattoo shop so we said let’s give it a shot. Best decision we ever made, upon walking through the door we were greeted comfortably and weren’t rushed or intimidated. We each said our ideas and the excitement in the artists eyes was enough to know they really care about their work and their customers. After a quick sketch and a quick set up we were off. Josh did my tattoo and it was actually better then I had in my mind. He was a really humble and professional guy and had my best interest in hand. 10/10 would recommend and would return.

I went into Josh Halls shop to hand my inspired idea over to a stranger and hoped not to be completely shot down. As expected, he explained that what Id had in mind would need to be tweaked. He listened to what was most important to me and brainstormed a bit. He then created an absolutely beautiful custom tattoo for me, complete with every symbolic element Id wanted. I walked out of the comfortable, very clean shop smiling and more than satisfied. For a clean, comfortable, fully attentive tattoo experience, I highly recommend Josh Hall. If I had the money I would be here everyday getting a new tattoo until I ran out of room. Sadly, my landlord would come for me if I stopped paying rent so I have to control myself. Not only is the work I have gotten done amazing but the staff are some of the funniest people I have met. The lines of my tattoos are clean and steady, the shading is beautiful, and the color is vibrant. The shop is kept clean and the artwork on the walls is awesome. They are all very friendly but will tell you how it is if you need it. 10/10 will spend my tax return here.

The only I get my tattoos - I did my research back in 2018 when I was looking at getting some traditional navy tattoos done, as I never did get any when I did serve in the Navy. Joshs name kept coming up while I was looking. Meet with him, went over what I wanted, and he did a FANTASTIC JOB! I have gone back since and had another one done. Place is clean, he has the artwork done in advance, and it is very very well done! Josh values my time and his, I have not used anyone since, nor do I plan on using anyone else.

I don’t do many reviews. Only when I’m blown away. I did my research and found that Josh Hall has one of the best reps in Central US and now I understand. This was my 4th tat, 1st by Josh. I love all my ink, but Josh and his team made this a memorable experience. The ambience is great here. Like an old barber shop. Classy and welcoming. Josh took my feedback and gave me what I was seeking but even better. His attention to shading and solid line work give the tattoo great dimension and depth. The placement was perfect as it wraps around my tricep to give it REAL dimension. 4th tattoo but this is the only one I got that wasn’t somewhat painful. I don’t mind the pain, but it’s even better when there isn’t any! I was impressed by the whole team at Gentlemen tattoo. The experience has been top notch from start to finish. I will be back!

Very clean and friendly staff! Really appreciated how knowledgeable and professional everyone was. The counter girl (Alexa/Google/Homegirl) was so sweet and made us feel welcomed. Justin did the tattoos for me and my friend and was honest about sizing and placement. Also was good at distracting you by keeping the conversation going. He did a great job and we couldnt be happier. Definitely going back here for my next one! We did make an appointment but a girl walked in while we were finishing up and she waited no longer than 20 minutes before he was helping her!

Im from New York. The only reason I can see myself returning to Dallas would be to pay a visit to Josh Hall and get another tattoo. In the few months I have been here Josh has done two works of art on me and I am completely in love with them. I have never met a tattoo artist who takes such pride in their work like Josh does. He was very professional yet personable and made me feel very comfortable. The design was perfect and his execution flawless. Josh Hall reworked a piece that I had done by a less-than-perfect artist, and I couldnt be happier. I highly recommend him. I have had two custom tattoos done here by Josh Hall. He did an amazing job on both tattoos. He was able to draw up exactly what I wanted with just a couple of pictures and discriptions in an email. Also, if he knows the tattoo isnt going to look the way you are wanting, he tells you straight up. Gives great advice. Clean shop, friendly staff. Well worth the price.

The shop and the guys are awesome!! Theyre professional and extremely entertaining, to say the least!! The ambiance was VERY clean, warm and welcoming. My tattooer was Big Mike and he was awesome! We discussed what I wanted and he stenciled out exactly what i asked for, which was a beautiful feather for my inner arm; the process took about 30 mins. This place is the anti-tattoo shop. Usually when I walk into a tattoo shop I am attacked by fluorescent lighting and death metal. There is a row of barely legal girls flipping through books of flash so they can choose the perfect butterfly for their first tattoo. Not here! I walked in and was able to shake off the stress of the outside world. Catchy classics playing on the stereo. I was immediately greeted and treated like a customer! If you have been to any other shops, you know this is a big deal because I’m usually ignored when I walk in for an appointment at most shops. Josh Hall was friendly and took the time to make sure my new art was perfect. He’s also super fast! This is now my favorite shop.

I came in on Tuesday to talk to Jake about a tattoo that I’ve been wanting to get. First of all, both Jake and Michael were welcoming when I came in. Not only did I get to consult about what I was wanting done, I also got the tattoo at the same time. I was really pleased with it and I’m definitely coming back for my next tattoo. First of all, hands down the BEST customer service ever! Setting up the appointment online at the J. Hall & Co. website and paying the deposit was extremely easy. Josh and I communicated via email before the appointment so I was already feeling more at ease. This was my first tattoo and I was having it done on my birthday. The minute my husband and I walked in to the shop we felt at ease. The atmosphere was really relaxed and it felt like we had known Josh forever.I brought in a custom calligraphy design for the tattoo and Josh and I sat on the couch and talked about it for a while. I was very nervous and worried about the pain. He calmed my nerves and reassured me I would be fine. We talked about the placement of the tattoo and he had great insight. You could tell he truly wanted this to be done right and in the perfect place where it would look great.Once the work began, it did hurt, but he completed the work so quickly! Before we got started he even offered me some guided meditation tips to calm me down! In a matter of minutes, the tattoo was done and I absolutely LOVED it! The placement was perfect, the work was as painless as possible (considering ;)), and the tattoo is EXACTLY what I wanted. So far, the aftercare has been easy and I have to believe if you follow his instructions your tattoo will heal up beautifully and look great for a long time.Josh was amazing and has an energetic personality. He runs his shop professionally, theres a great atmosphere there, wonderful customer service and it is worth every dime you spend to have your tattoo done right by J. Hall & Co.

This was my first tattoo experience. I was a little nervous but Josh put me at ease right away. He showed me my design before getting started, discussed placement and gave great suggestions for enhancing the details of the design with color. He was very funny and cracked me up by talking to me in a variety of accents while working. Josh Hall was available to do my tattoo which was a skull on the front of my arm and a gramophone on the back. I was hesitant on which colors would show up on my complexion (almond brown), but Josh is a pro and both turned out stunning and are healing nicely thanks to him. The shop has a mellow, inviting vibe to it as well as everyone that works there. Ill definitely be going back for any tattoos I need in the future and recommend anyone looking for new art to do the same!

Went in this week for my first tattoo. I selected Josh after reading all the great reviews online. Id emailed my design (a sea turtle with a circular ocean wave design around the turtle) to Josh in advance. When I got to the shop - he walked me through the step by step process. He printed out the stencil and at first I was surprised at how large it was. Josh explained that any smaller and it wouldnt look right. He placed the stencil perfectly on my upper chest and proceeded with the tattoo. He worked quickly and made the entire process as smooth as possible. He did an absolutely fantastic job. It has been only 48 hours and my tattoo feels as if it is fully healed. I am not bleeding at all - nor is my skin at all sore or tender. It looks and feels as if Ive had this tattoo forever. I could not be happier. The shop is super clean and Josh and his team is super friendly. Im already planning my 2nd tattoo.

This establishment is the ultimate in tattoo artistry. I had the fantastic privilege of having my first tattoo done here. Michael G. is the REAL deal. From the moment you walk in, you can tell this is a shop that has class, a true artists den. I was impressed with how clean and well kept each area was. As my wife and I waited for Michael to finish up with another customer, the owner Josh walked in. He began testing a new air freshener he had picked up at Bishops Arts and asked us what we thought about it. He didnt have to do that, he coulda just done his thing and left, but he took the time to interact with us, which goes a long way with us. And yes it did smell good!Now, Michael sat down with me to consult on the design that I brought in. He was upfront about what he could/couldnt do and set expectations. As we began, he applied the stencil to my forearm, took a second to examine it then removed it because he wanted to position it better. I really appreciated the TLC he was taking in getting my design done right. He was accurate, fast and positive the whole time. I couldnt have asked for a better experience! He talked me through the whole process and gave expert after care instructions. This is now my place to go to for future tattoos. Highly recommended!

Working with Josh was great - really professional in all aspects and a great guy to talk to which made the 3 hour session fly by. I just got my first tattoo yesterday and I definitely made the right decision by having Josh do it. I researched several artists and had intentions to visit with each one of them. However, Josh was the first that I visited and I left knowing there was no reason to go anywhere else. I told Josh what I wanted in my tattoo and provided him with some examples. He custom-designed a tattoo for me that was beyond my expectations. I am getting compliments on it everywhere I go. His shop is super cool and he makes you feel right at home and as comfortable as possible when getting the tattoo. I would not recommend any one else to do your tattoo. If you are looking to get your first tattoo, go to Josh so that its done right the first time!

Josh is an amazing artist and all around great guy. He takes the time to listen to your ideas and translate them into what will work well for tattooing. Unfortunately, not every idea works as a tattoo, but Joshs experience lets him guide you to what will look good on your body forever. You know, because tattoos are only permanent. Josh has been tattooing me for years and the colors are just as vibrant today as the day I got them. Lines are crisp, healing is fast and without issue. On top of that, hes a really nice guy.

My husband and I went in for a couples (matching) tattoo. After discussing our idea with Josh, he provided his professional opinion regarding our initial idea and suggested against it due to the area we were considering and how the tattoo would eventually look over time. It was refreshing to know that he didnt just simply take our money without consideration for our long term happiness with the tattoo. We ended up getting our tattoos by Mike (who is new to the shop but not a new artist). Mike freehand drew our design and did a fantastic job! We will definitely be revisiting this shop.

I waited until my tattoo was healed to write this review. My fiancé and I had wanted to get individual tattoos at the same time and had been searching for a shop and artist that we seemed to like and would feel comfortable with. We ended up booking an appointment with Josh the beginning of August 15. Our tattoos were simple. Mine took 15 minutes and hers took about 5 or so. Despite the lack of intricacies, Josh still took time to talk them out with us ahead of time and make recommendations. He actually talked me out of my initial design, and after speaking with other artists and friends about it, Im glad he did. His advice was very helpful.The shop is very clean, open, and comfortable. Unlike many shops, there is a fair amount of seating and its not cramped. All of this added to making the experience very comfortable. His aftercare system is amazing and much cleaner, safer, and protective than others setups. That was a huge plus.Definitely not the lowest cost shop out there. However, Im of the mind that if Im putting something permanent on me, I want it done right the first time and dont mind paying for it.Overall, I cant recommend Josh and his shop enough. He also has two other great guys working in there which Ive also heard nothing but positive things about. Every artist has their own styles, but if the art that you see done previous is of a style you, then you would be a fool to not at least go by and visit. Thanks Josh!

Josh accepted a walk in request for 2 tattoos via phone an hour before the shop was supposed to close. He consulted with us both once we got there and once final design was chosen, the tattoo was clean and sharp.He did our tattoos on the underside of the finer, something not many artists are willing to do...mainly because they dont have the confidence to do it.His shop is clean and unique and has an awesome vibe to it...down to the Sinatra playing in the background.

I went there with my girlfriend recently for my first tattoo (her 3rd.) Josh was awesome! The atmosphere was unique, not at all what I would have expected from your typical shop. The place was very inviting, and Josh was a great guy. You can tell he takes a lot of pride in his work. On top of being an amazing artist, he has 15 years of tattooing experience and 8 years in EMS as a paramedic. A freaking paramedic! Worried about clean shop/needles/etc.? Paramedic. This guy knows his stuff. From the people I know who have used him in the past, the healing time on his work is usually about half that of anyone else. And speaking of speed, he completed my tattoo and my girlfriends in about an hour each. Both are roughly 5 x 5. He is quick, but not sloppy, and we could not be happier with our tattoos. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great experience!

Out of all the tattoo shops Ive been to, this by far has been the best. The artist, Josh, is so awesome and super friendly. Leave all your worries behind--he will treat you right! The shop itself is very immaculate and cozy. The atmosphere is so soothing, too! Im so glad I found this place because this is the only place where Ill be getting all my tattoo needs. I’ve wanted to start my big tattoos for a while now and haven’t found the right tattoo artist. I went out on a limb and listen to a friend and called Josh. I initially looked up Mr. Hall on the internet and after reading all of his reviews, decided to give him a call to set up an appointment. He was very easy to talk to and even explained why what I wanted may not be a good idea (not in a bad way, but a coaching way.) The shop is very clean and has a laid back atmosphere. I enjoyed my time with both Josh and Pappy, and Josh has gained a new, loyal client. I would definitely recommend Josh to anyone wanting a unique and beautiful piece.

To put it simply, Ill never go anywhere but J. Hall & Co. for a tattoo. Ever. I came in with a poorly done Friday the 13 tattoo I was wanting covered. I gave Josh a few elements that i wanted in the tattoo, and what he drew knocked my socks off. It was absolutely gorgeous. Im so proud to have his work on my body, and so grateful that he took my ugly tattoo and made my arm look beautiful. It was such a pleasant experience sitting in his chair. I went in to get a coverup after reading many reviews. From the moment we walked in, we felt very welcome in this shop. I showed Justin what I needed to cover and brought in some references to work from. He helped guide me toward what would work best to cover the existing. Came back two days later and he had a drawing I liked, and it fit perfect. The shop is very clean and well kept. The end result turned out great, and perfectly covered the original. I definitely recommend this shop for anyone looking for a custom piece. It’s a very laid back place, and I got the impression customer satisfaction is their ultimate goal. I personally witnessed a guy come in wanting a tattoo that had some things technically wrong with it. Rather than just take his money, Josh explained the issues he had with it. He drew the guy something that was better, and he got it.Update: there were a few small touch ups that I needed done. I made my appt, and went in yesterday. Justin was happy to fix it at no charge. This is a great place, with great people. I am 100% satisfied with my experience as well as my tattoo!!

Walked in with a friend on Sunday to get a small tattoo (my first, her second). Chose the shop because another friend had gotten a much larger and more intricate piece done there and it looks fantastic. Both artists there were working with other clients but agreed to see us when finished. I would recommend making an appointment because it just seems more polite in retrospect but they were very accommodating and kind with us. Josh asked what we had in mind and then basically told us we ought to rethink a number of things- placement, size, etc. I appreciated having an honest conversation about it- his expertise is clear, genuine, and common sense. He drew something up for us quickly, made a small change and got us in the chair. He completely puts you at ease- has great stories and sense of humor. When it was my friends turn, he was really awesome in talking the nerves away with her. I love what we both walked out the door with. We had a great time at the shop and will be back. I recently got a tattoo at Lamar Street and was 100% satisfied with both the tattoo and the process. Been wanting to get a tattoo for years, but being a big baby when it comes to pain I kept procrastinating. I explained this to the folks there and they really worked with me and made me feel comfortable about the process. The artist who did my tattoo was Jake who was phenomenal. He came up with a better design than the one I provided him. I plan on getting a few more and will definitely have them done at Lamar Street.

This shop is amazing! I came in and got a Daisy tattooed on my wrist and from the very first second I stepped into the shop I was greeted and and felt welcomed. Everyone here is super friendly and enjoyable to talk to. It was clean, and the artist were very knowledgeable about their art. After getting the tattoo my Artist Michael went through the procedures of making sure the tattoo is staralized and clean and he did an absolutely amazing job on my tattoo. Thank you!!!!

Just finished with my first tattoo, and I love it. Josh did mine himself, hes a very popular guy and has about a three-four week wait so if you want the best of the best call ahead and make the apointment. A friend of mine found him and I loved how clean the shop was and his personality, pretty cool guy, isnt afraid to speak his mind and tell you how it is or just plain laugh in your face. Overall I will be going back for my next. I mean hey hes so good I got on google and wrote a review. That says something right.

Using Joshs easy to use website I was able to setup an appointment and attach images for the basic design I wanted. He emailed me back before the business day was over and we, via email, discussed some of the details. When it was time for my appointment, I drove down to the studio which is easy to find. I really like the cleanliness and low key atmosphere of the studio. With some Sinatra and Elvis playing in the background, hospital grade cleanliness, and general gentlemen professionalism, this tattoo was the easiest and best one yet.

I worked with Josh to get my first tattoo and I honestly couldnt be happier with how it turned out! The whole experience overall, from setting up an appointment for a consultation to walking out of the shop with a beautiful piece of art on my chest, was super easy, smooth, and pleasant.Josh is a great, no BS, straight forward kind of guy who takes great pride in his work and his reputation. He actually wont even give you a tattoo if he thinks it will turn out bad or it wont be good for you personally; therefore, his pride in his work means more to him than just taking someones money which should mean a lot when it comes to something you want to put on your body permanently.I initially walked in wanting to get a quote with a few significant numbers, but after talking with Josh he talked me into getting something else, which in the end, Im extremely happy he did. He just politely told me, Try not to be offended or hurt by this, but no one wants to read your quote and after 10 years or so the lettering is going to be twice as big and will look like s**t. So he suggested getting a picture instead. I found a picture of a plane that meant a lot to me (Im a pilot), forwarded it to him, and shortly thereafter he had drawn up a badass design with the numbers on ribbons as the plane was flying through the clouds. It was EXACTLY how I pictured it turning out in my head when I sent him the picture of the plane. Hes truly an amazing artist. As far as the shop, its super clean, big, and laid back. All of the aftercare items were provided to me there at the shop and Josh was careful to explain everything to me in detail to make sure my tattoo healed properly. Again, Im extremely happy with the tattoo and have already recommended Josh and his shop to several friends and will continue to do so! No need to go anywhere else!

I visited J Hall with my mom and sister for our first tattoos. We got small simple pieces that could have easily been breezed over and finished quickly. However, Pappy was so patient with us. He offered his expert advice and gave us some much needed guidance on placement. My idea needed to be tweaked a bit, and he was respectful of my wishes and helped steer me towards a final product that I love. He answered all questions thoroughly and made us all feel at ease. One of my co-workers highly recommended this shop and Im so glad I went. It was very clean and I loved the Rat Pack style music that was playing. Justin Gorbey did a great job! He was very easy to talk to and very professional. I brought in a simple sketch of the sparrow I wanted one my side/ribs and he immediately started talking it over with me and elaborating on it. The final design came out better than expected!! Thank you Justin! I have been telling all my friends about how great you guys are. This was my first tattoo and I love it! I will definitely be going back there next time.

I went in about a month ago to get my first tattoo, Im an artist so I drew the design I wanted and Josh made it look perfect. He worked really quickly and cleanly and finished in 30 minutes a tattoo that other artists said would take hours. The finished product was flawless and it healed perfectly. Ill definitely be going in again very soon for my next tattoo.

From the ease of setting up the appointment online and filling out an electronic waiver that Mr. Hall will be able to refer to for future appointments, all the way through the aftercare discussion, this was by far my most pleasant tattoo experience of all. I have three medium-sized (2-3 hour) pieces, and this was my first at J. Hall & Co. The online presence and facilitation is incredibly user-friendly, so already I was excited. I had been in the shop before, and while the shop is very inviting, you dont necessarily realize upon casual glance that it is carefully designed to make the customer feel totally comfortable and relaxed. The colors and furniture used are warm and the music in the shop (he was playing 1940s music while I was there) gave the shop a terrific nostalgic vibe. The decor - local art and tattoo art - is great to focus on if you need to try and minimize the possible intensity of getting tattooed. Im not a person who experiences much pain from a tattoo, so the whole process for me was amazingly comforting and soothing. Josh is precise, works at a great pace, is incredibly detail-oriented and made the day (my birthday) very special for me by paying close attention to what we both thought would make a great design. I could not be happier with the entire session - complete professionalism, a great atmosphere, and a beautiful tattoo made my birthday the best one ever.

MAN! We had a great time last night. I really have to give kudos to the entire team. We walked in and were immediately greeted by everyone. My wife had an appointment and I was a walk-in. Justin Underwood was our artist and as soon as he heard that my wife was there he shared his excitement to do her design. I asked if anyone would be able to fit me in, but they appear to be a very busy shop and informed me that chances would be slim. After my wife got settled in the chair a number of conversations developed and the good times got better. During our time there we developed a good relationship with the artists and they found a way to squeeze me in for a session. Justin is an awesome guy and we hope to visit with him again. He has a great attitude/work ethic and does artwork we love. @Josh Hall - Dont loose this guy ;)

Coming to J. Hall & Co was the best choice that I could have made to get my first tattoo. Joshs personality is very welcoming and instead of feeling like ho hum, Im getting a tattoo, he makes you feel like you are just chillin with friends. I love that he uses high quality tools and inks and it really shows in the final product. I have been referring everyone that compliments me on my tattoo to him. This is hands down the best tattoo experience Ive ever had. My fiancé and I walked in one day, after looking at some reviews and hearing great things from friends, and we were greeted by a pleasant, relaxed, yet professional environment. We had some vague ideas about what we wanted done, and spent a good hour or so discussing the possible directions our tattoos could go in. We deferred to their opinions as professional artists, and I couldnt be happier with the quality and outcome. The price was very fair for the very high quality of the work, and aftercare was meticulously explained. Our tattoo artist was Big Mike, and he was extremely fun to work with and a consummate professional. I will DEFINITELY be going back to this awesome parlor for my next piece. I highly recommend J. hall Gentleman Tattooers!

Hector did amazing work on both of my tattoos. Everyone compliments the shading and the lining. I probably will get all my tattoos done by him. This place is a bit pricey but remember you get what you pay for. They provide all the after care products to make sure your tattoo heals correctly and speedy. Would definitely recommend to anyone not sure on who they would like to do their tattoo.

I am writing this review from the perspective of a guest in the shop as I did not get a tattoo, but my husband did. All in all, we were in the shop for about 5 hours. Mike did my husbands tattoo( a cover up) and he couldnt be more pleased! The work was phenomenal! So much so, that Im pretty sure we are going back this coming weekend. Even more impressive was the professionalism all these men demonstrated during our visit. I witnessed many consultations and at times recommendations to NOT get requested tattoos. In Fact I witnessed one of the artists explain why a guest should not get a fad tattoo( which I have and regret), and then make recommendations on what she should get based on the purpose of the tattoo.These guys, while I assume make a killing, do not appear to be in the business for a quick buck, but rather for their love of the artwork and the desire to make their customers happy. In my book, these guys are top notch, and the best of the best!!!!

I researched tattoos & tattooers for 6 months. I tried to go to Paris for the tattoo I wanted. I was given two word of mouth referrals for the Dallas area of which neither panned out. I walked into Josh Halls business as it was near my office and because it looked classy. Josh was enthusiastic about my tattoo. I scheduled an appointment. Josh made me feel at ease and my experience was outstanding. I got the exact image I wanted and have no issues with the healing process. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND him. I have no regrets and am very pleased with my whole tattoo experience.

I could go on for days about Josh Hall but I am going to try and keep it short and sweet. I have just completed a half sleeve cover-up tattoo with Josh and I am utterly delighted with my experience with him. Not only are these guys hilarious and entertaining but they all do amazing work. My friend and I were going to roam the city of Dallas but instead we stayed and hung out with these guys before they finished drawing up our tattoos. Im a long-time customer of Bobs but yesterday was my first visit to Lamar Street Tattoo Club; terrific work with fair pricing - loved the feel of the shop and we have already started working my next piece - cannot recommend Lamar Street and any of its artists highly enough - too bad there are only 5 start available; cant wait to get back.

I will honestly /never/ go anywhere else for a tattoo. I came in to this shop to get my first tattoo after hopping off a plane at Love Field and I wasnt sure what to expect, other than from what I gathered off of the reviews I had read on here. I made a call to ask if there was time for a walk-in before an appointment and Josh told me to come on in at about two. I told Josh what it was that I was wanting and he told me quite frankly, You dont want this tattoo. He sat me down and explained to me that what I was originally wanting was going to be a huge ass chunk of text that wasnt going to be anything special, and suggested that he help me turn the lyrics I wanted into a picture. We did a little brainstorming and then I sat back and let him do his work...And he came up with the most beautiful design I had ever seen. There was no way that I was going to leave that shop without it. And it looks even more beautiful on my arm than it did in the sketch. I was so pleased with his job well done that I had to hug him afterward. Josh was amazingly friendly and I am so glad that I chose this place to get my tattoo done (even though now whenever I want one Im going to have to fly all the way from Missouri to get a tattoo). We talked and laughed and joked around-- he even offered to spray some alcohol on my tattoo after I complained that it didnt hurt as bad as I thought it was going to.Overall, I was genuinely pleased with my experience here and Ive already started making arrangements to get another one when I come back to Dallas in October. There are many reasons to give him your patronage, but here are a few:- This shop is amazing and unlike any other shop I have been in - super clean, classy, comfortable and an intimate experience.- Experience is a great word to use, because Mr. Hall uses it as well. He is fully invested in the experience you have getting a tattoo in his shop. He is knowledgeable the art and the health/medical concerns that go into the whole process. Mr. Hall is very interesting to converse with and he made the hours fly - sort of. :) Plus, the guy does this wearing shirtsleeves and a tie! Need I say more?- Both of our tattoos are amazing.My husband got his first tattoo at this shop, he healed really well and was ready for more before it was done peeling. I have been tattoo at a few different shops and this was really the best place. The whole process from start to finish was the best experience I have ever had being tattooed. He paused while doing my tattoo to answer a question and then re-bandage someone that needed his help. Working with Josh was about as easy as things get when it comes to tattoos. He takes great pride in his work, and has a passion for tattooing that his hard to come by in the era of the rockstar tattoo artist. The shop was immaculate, and the rest of the crew seemed to share the same no BS attitude. I came in expecting a 4-5 hour session or the typical lets finish it in 2 weeks routine. Was blown away when we were done (with a quality tattoo) right around 2 hrs.For the sake of full disclosure, this is not the kind of place where you make an appointment and get an hourly quote. Come in expecting to spend some money. You will not be disappointed. By no means are you going to get gouged when it comes to price, but this isnt a chop shop making money on volume business. Youre paying for a very personalized craft, and you get exactly that.

Josh did an amazing job on my tattoo. I went in with a basic idea of what I wanted to cover a surgical scar across my belly. He gave my some better ideas and we decided to do my tattoo in steps to make sure there wasnt any trouble with the scar tissue. Josh was very patient with me and the ending result is absolutely amazing! I am planning to get more added to it very soon.

This is the best tattoo parlor to go to in Dallas. Ive had 3 of my tattoos done here by Michael, and I couldnt be more happy with them. The atmosphere is super friendly and chill, and all the artist are very welcoming. The price for tattoos is exactly what youll get, extremely well done pieces. I have gone to 3 other tattoo parlors in the Dallas area and this one is by far the best!

This was by far the most unique tattoo experience I have had. There was no foot traffic in the shop, no distractions, nobody hanging around or being obnoxious. It was a professional experience, thats the only way I can describe it. Josh is warm and funny and he actually loves what he does. Its not about making a dollar because he spares no expence to make sure his customers are comfortable. This should be what every person experiences when they get a tattoo.a year layer and this is still my favorite place to get a tattoo !

My experience at Gentleman Tattooer was awesome. Sir Josh was very professional and honest. You wont find many tattoo artists that are straight shooters. The shop 8s clean and stylish. My bf and I walked in and Mike totally took care of us. Discussed our needs and created a design perfectly suited for what we wanted. The staff here are professional and courteous. They take the time to explain to clients about tattooing and ensure that every customer understands rhw process..from choosing a design to what to expect during and amazing instruction for after care. They are personable and funny and make the whole experience awesome.If u have never been tattooed or are old hat at body art this is the place to go.

Josh Hall always does such great work, I’ve had 3 tattoos from him and they’re all amazing. The shop is always super clean and everyone is so friendly.

I had an appointment with Mr. Hall last evening and it lived up to everything I had heard about and my expectations were exceeded. Josh had a very nice studio and we got to business shortly after I arrived. I had to take a stretch break or two during our session, during which I felt super compelled to check out his progress, but he told me it would be that much better if I waited until he was finished...BOY! Was he right! I am more than pleased with the work he did and plan to refer anyone I hear speaking getting ink done his way. Strongly reccomend this shop/artist to anybody!

Since Ive found this shop I havent been anywhere else. Not only are they AMAZING at their art , but professional, and the shop is so clean. Ive had the privilege of having a tattoo done by Pappy. He is very detailed in his tattooing ,listens to what you want and makes it happen. He makes you feel comfy and its an over all great experience. I highly recommend him and his work. I am super glad I made an appointment to meet Josh and have him touch up my Tigger tattoo. He is the true definition of a people person. He made me feel at ease and comfortable from the beginning. Josh is not only a great artist but fantastic visionary in presenting ideas and options for his clients. For the work I had in mind, I went in with a very simple concept and Josh was able to take it and develop something unique to me while still capturing what I wanted as the centerpiece of the work. It went from a marking to a story. Joshs parlor is not like any that Ive seen before in that it is a very relaxed atmosphere and not just working people through the line with limited thought. His partner-in-crime Pappy put it best, if you were to combine an old-school barbershop, speak-easy, and tattoo parlor, this is Joshs shop. Highly recommended and the only place Id consider going.

J. Hall & Co Gentlemen Tattooers did an awesome job on my memorial tattoo. I had been looking at using Josh for a little while and once I saw the LivingSocial deal, that solidified my decision. I had an idea in mind but Josh helped me realize it and changed it up just enough to ensure a long-lasting design. He also had great insight on memorial tattoos that helped me take it from something that could have been a depressing reminder to something that Ill always remember with joy. Josh is a character and he definitely made me feel at ease. The shop is very cool and super-clean. I was constantly hydrated with FIJI Water and there was a Keurig machine had I wanted some coffee. Nothing but the best for his clients. Josh also seemed to carry a wealth of knowledge re: his craft and I enjoyed learning as I had my work done.My only issue now, I want more work done. Time to start saving up because Ill be back again for sure. Thanks, Josh!

Got my first tat here recently from Justin.I was looking for a vegan shop, but Koneko is insanely expensive, and weirdly hostile to potential customers, so I found J. Hall. Theyre vegan friendly and 1/3 the cost of the shop minimum from Koneko.Justin was really cool and relaxed. He listened to what I wanted, but also stopped me when I wanted something that would have turned out poorly.I was really nervous... turns out tats hurt like hell, but he was awesome and kept me relaxed and laughing.Everyone here just seems really upbeat and friendly. Its like a barber shop with everyone just hanging out, talking and getting great tats. Really relaxed vibe while also being professional.Will definitely be getting my next tat here.

Went over the weekend after searching for vegan places. The owner Josh is a vegan of 9 years and most of the stuff used is vegan. The reviews were a welcome relief compared to other places like Koneko. I saw Justin (who isnt vegan himself but I am more concerned about a well done tattoo than the eating habits of my artist). He knew exactly what would work and wouldnt with my idea. We had to tweak it a little but I still ended up with a beautiful scorpion on my forearm. I loved that they give me what I need for aftercare so I am not making my own stupid decisions on aftercare as I did with my first tats a decade ago. I am looking forward to this one healing well, and coming back to start on a cover up and sleeve.

I went into this shop with a bunch of my friends and family, and we had a great experience here! My tattoo turned out amazing.. These guys know what theyre doing, but the hospitality was awesome! Aside from a little bit of a language, it was the best experience! This is a super clean place with a pleasing atmosphere. They were so good to us and I will for sure be returning.

I got my first tattoo with Josh, and only my 2nd overall, just before Christmas 2012. I am so happy with the work he did and the communication that we had before sitting down in the chair. I got my tattoo with Josh Hall and he is so badass! He took my design and added his own twist to it. It looks amazing and he was so kind, I felt as if I knew him all my life. Plus hes vegetarian, which was awesome. He was even polite enough to walk my friend and I out to the car afterwards. Highly recommend! :)
