Tooth & Nail Tattoo & Piercing

Jenna killed my tattoo! I had a cover up that was about 10 years old on my forearm and I wanted to do a bundle of strawberries. She worked with me on drawing out the tattoo for what I had in mind. Originally I was going to just have black and grey but her and Tom suggested that I do color and it was a great idea! If I did color I wanted a pop art type coloring. The red and green from the strawberries are saturated and vibrant just like I wanted. Jenna took her time to make sure I left with an awesome tattoo and she did a great job!The tattoo shop and the rest of the employees all had great vibes. Id recommend Jenna and the shop any day! Thanks for the great experience guys!

Manda was the absolute BEST! Professional, clearly stated, and very helpful . The process of the piercings was quick and easy, my piercing looks amazing. Will definitely be coming back in the future. Atmosphere was clean and The staff was very friendly!! Absolutely loved the experience!

I went in to get my snake bites changed about 3 days ago as the ones I initially got pierced with (at a different piercer) were cheap painted metal. Chad was very nice and I expected to pay the price I paid seeing as I needed to buy entire new jewelry and get them changed. They were a bit snug but hed swapped bars maybe twice while replacing them so I just assumed theyd be fine. They were not, they were too small to account for my swelling.I went today to get a bigger size because they were super painful and enough google searching confirmed to me that my bar was too short. My left side definitely was digging into my lip. I went in and asked if they could look at it and they replaced it with a longer bar and charged me close to $35 for 2 posts which at the time seemed killer to me. I will say that upon looking at my receipt and from their response to a different review, i was given a discount and i hadnt seen that at first. Just keep in mind that youre going to spend a bit but the quality is definitely worth it.Other than the price of that jewelry, i have nothing terrible to say. I sincerely will be returning. The atmosphere was great, and again, Chad was very informative on aftercare and i really enjoyed how quick and easy it all was, im a busy mom so I appreciate that more than I can say.I should have asked before they replaced them if I needed to pay for the change but I was more focused on the pain. They also said nothing about how much itd be before which just sucks but I understand and Im not really blaming them for it (if I wasnt a newbie to shops and pricing Im certain I wouldnt have been surprised by the charge.)The relief I felt after the longer bars were put in was astronomical. I sincerely wish i had asked for longer posts at my first walk-in. These piercings have been a JOURNEY and im grateful i found this place to help me through it!

We called to see if they do walk ins at 11 and they said yes they aren’t busy. Told them we will be there around 5-6. Show up and the doors are locked. We wait for 5 min and some guy shows up and says all of the tattoo artist left for the day. Online it says you’re open until 8 and it was 6 when we got there. If you’re not gonna stay open until the time on Google then change how late you stay open. Tried going here maybe a year ago to get a tattoo and some girl said she’d be right with us and we waited for at least 30 min. In between us waiting artists were having smoke breaks and talking to each other but the only communication between staff and I were “we will be with you in a minute” walked out after waiting and already wrote a review for that. I can’t believe something like this happened twice and it’s been over a year. I just can’t believe how bad everyone is at communicating here…

Tom tattooed me on Friday the 13th. He did an amazing job talking me through the pain. Chadillac pierced my ear and was super nice. The customer service here was great. I would definitely return!

Very informative. Explained everything to us and our daughter amazingly. Our daughter is 8 and she felt so comfortable and prepared. They pierced her ears tandem which made it so quick. We are extremely happy with our experience.

Called at 11 to see if we could walk in around six to get a tattoo, they said yes and then we get there and the door is locked so we try calling and no one responds. Eventually a guy comes back and said all of the tattoo artists left early…disappointed honestly

This place is a complete joke. I paid almost $200 8 weeks ago to get my 10 year old daughter’s ears pierced ($90 for the earrings!!! 😳). They told us to come back 8 weeks later to “get the backs shortened” on the earrings after initial swelling went down. We came back today and they actually charged me another $22 to “shorten the backs” which apparently is a 50% discount!!! Are you kidding me?!? Nothing was well communicated to us throughout the entire process. If I had known they were going to charge us today to “shorten the backs” after the astronomical amount that we already paid 8 weeks ago for the piercing, I would have laughed and never came back! Save your money and go somewhere else with better customer service!

I would recommend Tom for any tattoo. His attention to detail in my opinion is 2nd to none. He took his time and was full of conversation to make the day pass quickly for a 7 hour tattoo session. I gave him the different pieces I wanted combined and he put it all together perfectly! To top it all off his price was very reasonable! Highly impressed

My husband and I came in on a whim to get tattoos for our 12 year wedding anniversary. They were SO accommodating. The facility was clean. Tom was a DELIGHT, very kind and skilled. They got us in, did exactly what we wanted and got us out in time for our son’s soccer game. HIGHLY recommend!

I had a great experience getting tattooed at Tooth and Nail! The shop was clean and professional, with COVID measures in effect. The staff was friendly and helpful getting me checked in.Lee designed this rad custom piece based on reference images of green herbs from Resident Evil. Im super pleased with the work! Its new in the picture, and currently healing well. I was given Saniderm film, which is making the healing process way easier and less itchy.Good vibes all around, check em out!

Getting my daughters ears pierced at Tooth and Nail was the best experience. No tears no worries from my little one! I also love that they asked HER conset and treated her as an autonomous being. 10 out of 10 highly recommend!

Came in at 6pm to participate in the Friday the thirteenth (13) with my spouse as it is a family tradition to get tattoos to celebrate with our son a tradition that we have done for 4 years now. We both got Tom for our new art, he did a great job in the prep work, his lines where excellent and the small detail work was superb. Definitely would suggest to use the artists for any of your future artwork.

Manda Rexx did my nose piercing today, it was my first one so I was extremely nervous but as soon as I walked in she walked me through all the steps and tips of having a nose piercing, she also helped me pick out a beautiful blue opal stud! When I was about to get it done she made small talk with me which was very comforting. She had an extremely calming aura and definitely will be coming back for the next piercing!!

Fortunately, they sell the only type of material I can wear and have soooo many options to chose from and high quality. Always available for questions and great people 💗

I had my ears re-pierced recently. Steven was my piercer and I was really impressed with him. He did a great job of making sure everything was clean and uncompromised on his tray. He put on sterile gloves as well as any nurse I know. He talked me through the entire procedure, gave suggestions for managing the pain, and made sure he had consent from me before he did each piercing. It was a great experience and I will definitely refer friends to him. I do wish the front desk had been more upfront about pricing on the jewelry and explained that the backs are separate before I had my piercings done. I would still have gone through with the purchase and piercings, but the numbers jumped up fast without much explanation. Nothing was labeled in the display, and I would have appreciated at least a range by each set of jewerly.

I got my nose pierced here a few months ago. Steven did my piercing. I am 16 and this is my first piercing besides my ears which almost every teenage girl has gotten. He was very nice and talked me through what he was gonna do. He thoroughly explained how to take care of it and keep it from getting infected. It hasn’t been the full 8 months, but if i didn’t know i had to wait that long i’d say it looks healed. Highly recommend!

Ive been coming to Tooth and Nail for several years and just got my 8th and 9th piercings from them today! Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful; atmosphere is fun and interesting, and equipment is always clean/sterile/new. Steven has pierced me several times and always puts me at ease while doing a fantastic job; I have minimal discomfort/irritation and am definitely coming back for more!

I came here with my grandma to get my nostril piercing removed after having it pierced in Chicago, because my lifeguard job doesn’t allow us to have any jewelry of any kind out of fear it would be ripped out. It was removed simply, easily, and without charge. A few days later, my grandma and I went back because I couldn’t get the jewelry back in, and we were helped again, quickly and easily. The staff is so nice, and very helpful. Even my grandma didn’t mind it there, and she tends to be a little anxious around tattoos and piercings. Overall, I have had a wonderful experience here, and plan to go back with my dad to get my septum pierced in a few months.

I have used them for piercings, Sam was so amazing and answered all my questions. I also had Lee and Ben for a couple tattoos they both rocked with doing what I wanted! They have a wonderful selection of top of the line jewelry too that makes your selection that much easier. I will continue to go to them for all future work! I’ve had a few piercings done here now and every time has been amazing! The atmosphere is dark but inviting, with lots of cool jewelry and art to see. The piercer Steve is probably one of the coolest people I’ve ever met, and he was so calming during the whole experience. Explaining everything step by step, offering a break at any point you need it, breathing with you, reminding you about how cool it’ll look, etc. and being 100% nonjudgmental for the whole process. I am a very anxious person and had him explain the process a few times per piercing, lol, but he was so sweet and genuine that I felt like I could make him stand there for an hour and HE’d apologize? Not to mention the extensive knowledge of the anatomy of piercings and different jewelry options, etc. I left the shop with 0 questions and awesome piercings. Anyway, if you’re looking for somebody to stab you I would highly recommend Steve and the team at Tooth and Nail! :)

I spent a couple of hours yesterday with Steve and Ben. Steve pierced my nose and Ben did some tats on my arm. I am very impressed with both of these young men. They explained everything in detail, made sure I didn’t have any questions, and that I was very comfortable. I have other piercings and other tattoos. This is the first time I’ve been toTooth and Nail and I will definitely go back. The guys are funny, caring, and very professional. I very highly recommend them. I would give them 10 stars if I could!

I’ve never had someone pierce me that was as knowledgeable, considerate, and wonderful all around as Steven! He did a fantastic job on my paired eyebrow piercings. He made sure I was comfortable and knew exactly what was happening. He knows so much about what he does — everything from the anatomy of piercing to the standards for cleanliness to how to be gentle as can be while piercing. I’d highly recommend him to anyone wanting a piercing.

We took our daughter here to get her ears pierced. They were wonderful! We had a consultation and then came back the next day for a piercing. They were patient and allowed our daughter to ask a million questions. She keeps telling us they are professionals and very helpful, we couldnt agree more!

The piercer was fairly new, her hands were shaky, so it only made things more tense, but was very professional on her technique. Oh, heads up on using their bathroom, i killed 2 roaches!

Im sure most people know me Ive been with tooth and nail Many years as a groupy. I definitely wouldnt go to this sho0 for any medical implants They do all of their operations during non business hours. I had my thumb implants done by manda and chad and had to get surgery cause the Implants they did caused my hands to have carpal tunnel. I had egk done Several times they caused severe nerve damage in both my thumbs. Ive heard another horror story from other people with the same story . They also stole money from a benefit .they were having for a artist. this multiple times with multiple artists.

Have been here for a tattoo and a piercing. All the employees are so kind and really make you feel comfortable. if you go here you will definitely be in good hands. :)

I got my cartilage pierced a few weeks ago, I had a terrific experience. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting. The couple who own the shop were very knowledgeable about piercings and jewelry. Chad did my piercing, was very clean and quick! Its basically all healed. I have no complaints. Im sensitive to cheaper metals and usually my piercings bleed or become sore after wearing jewelry! This stud has healed up wonderfully and I havnt had any problems so I know the jewelry is quality. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

This studio is clean, professional, friendly, and helpful. My piercer (Steven, if Im remembering correctly) was very clear with his process, very easy to work with, and explained the aftercare process thoroughly. Prices for piercing services are reasonable. My one complaint is for the price of the jewelry used. It is very expensive, especially for a college student. I wish there were cheaper jewelry available. Theres a place I go to in my college town with similar quality jewelry for much less. If I had gone there, I would have saved over $100. But if you can afford the hefty price, this is a good place to go to.

Wonderful place. The guy who pierced my right side of the nose was very helpful and the woman who helped me today for the other side was also very helpful and nice

I will attach a picture, but I came in today for a snake tattoo on the back of my neck. I am extremely disappointed. The lines are not straight on its head and some of the belly scales aren’t even connected. Not to mention, you can see where the artist picked up and put the gun back down. I do not recommend this place for line work. I over paid for this piece in my opinion as well. $125 plus a tip that I wouldn’t have given if I saw the work more close up. It was on my back so I couldn’t inspect it well at first. Only reason they get 2 stars is because they got me in quick after I wanted an appointment, and he did my tattoo in probably 30 minutes. Cool to be fast, but not when the work is rushed and poorly done. I’m very upset. Do not go here for dainty tattoos or line work.

The owners are very nice and were very nice to our kids who wanted their ears pierced. However they are seriously over priced. What would have cost me $80 a kid somewhere else was $387. My fault for paying this outrageous amount I just couldn’t disappoint my kids and was put on the spot.

I recommend this place so, so much! The people working here are so extremely nice and when I got my first tattoo here about a year ago, so comforting! Theyre definitely the type of people that are easy going and easy to talk to, and I think thats beyond important in an environment like this one. Plus, the other most important part, theyre professional and skilled with what theyre doing.

Super disappointed with my overall experience, there was a lot of unprofessionalism that occurred with my appointment. I got there before 4, apparently Lindsey, the person doing my tattoo was running behind, I thought ok no problem I’ll wait, when she arrived she told me that she still had work to do and wouldn’t be finished for another hour and then proceeds to tell me to come back around 6, (though that was weird since she said an hr). I said how late are you open til and she said 8pm, I was thinking to myself maybe will just do the line work and do another session of color on another date. I ask to see what she had drawn up and it was so cringey to see that it wasn’t anything I asked for in the initial consultation, just some girly type drawing that didn’t sit well with me so i immediately asked for my deposit back. They obliged and gave it back. Now I understand things happen but I’ve been to several PROFESSIONAL tattoo shops that sessions don’t overlap and have the common curtesy to get you started once set time for client has arrived. 1. That’s not fair to your new clients especially if I traveled almost an hour to get there on time after work 2. You have to be able to either let clients know beforehand that you are gonna run late or are not finished with your other sessions before I even drive all the way to your parlor and waste gas. 3. You need to have better communication about the certain piece a client wants and if unsure contact them about it. I was pretty specific of what I wanted from them only to be disappointed with what I was looking at. Conclusion: You guys run a business that should meet the needs of your customers and that’s should be #1 priority for a shop or artist to become successful.

I had an amazing experience getting my nose pierced. I felt welcome the moment I stepped in the door. Staff is SUPER friendly and patient. I was nervous, but the guy explained everything and made me feel more at ease. I would 100% recommend this place to anyone.. Ive very pleased :)

I got my eyebrow pierced by Steven, he did very well and got it done really quick! Amazing customer service by all staff wiIl definitely be coming back for future piercings/tattoos. Didnt have to wait very long either

I had an infected piercing that Tooth and Nail did not pierce. They got me in right away, helped clean it, and recommended a new earring.

Im only in the Quad Cities for a short time, and I decided to find a local shop for my second tattoo. Im happy I found Tooth And Nail! Experiences like these will definitely push me to keep getting more tattoos. I believe my artists name was Aaron, and he was fantastic. Im leaving in February, but theres a very good chance Ill get another piece done before then!

Came here to get my very first piercings (both ear lobes) and had a perfect experience! Steven was very helpful in explaining everything to me before, during, and after the piercing. He also helped me pick a good size earring for me and thoroughly explained the aftercare instructions and got me set up with the sea salt solution to keep my piercings clean. I’ve always worried about the pain, but honestly it was a very pain-free experience. It hurt LESS than the covid vaccine during the piercing, and has not caused me any pain at ALL since I got my piercings. I highly recommend this place and wish I wanted more piercings so I could return, but this will be the only place I recommend to friends and family, and hopefully I can bring my sister in soon to get her ears redone!

The piercer Chad (Chadillac) was phenomenal! I went for a piercing in a more sensitive area and he was extremely professional and kind. Chad made me feel extremely comfortable and I he took great care in his workshop ensuring it was perfect. Five stars! Definitely recommend for anything you need. The entire shop is extremely clean, inviting, warm, and professional! I will definitely be returning!

My best friend and I went in for a walk-in appointment and Steven was our piercer and the service from start to finish was AMAZING!!! The process itself was so sterile and quick! I will be returning for more piercings and tattoos in the future for sure

Everything about my experience was amazing. The owner had direct contact with me through messages despite being out of town, and dhe and the staff were all very welcoming and accommodating. My piercer, Steven, was very knowledgeable and explained everything he was doing and why he was doing it in detail, which made me feel very comfortable with the whole proceas. I was pleased with How he handled a mistake that another piercer had made Without having to talk bad about or downgrade the other piercer..overall very professional.

In the last year i’ve spent well over 1300 dollars here, these are just a few of my complaints; i’ve been pierced incorrectly and needed it removed after spending 200 dollars on it and needed it re-pierced, spent 90 dollars on a piece of jewelry that fell out while not doing an activity, and most recently went in for a tattoo. i had work done by another artist and wasn’t a fan and went in here after seeing good reviews; i didn’t receive anything that looked like what i had asked for which were very simple flowers and some sparkles. i was expecting good work after looking at the artists pro folio and instagram and i got nothing close to it. i left the shop happy but after going home and looking at it closer i’m not happy with the work at all. i’m extremely disappointed and plan to get the entire tattoo removed- no longer will be giving my business as the only person i’ve had a good encounter with is steven.

Steven and Amy were both very nice and professional and answered all of my questions. They both made me feel very safe and comfortable instead of uncomfortable and worried. They kept me laughing and not anxious the whole time and I’m very satisfied and impressed with the business they served us.

Got my nostril and septum pierced during the anniversary walk in event. I have had no issues at all with the healing process. I was very anxious, but the process was so quick and easy. I will definitely be coming back for more piercings and hopefully tattoos!

I hardly ever post bad reviews but after my tattoo experience today I just have to get this out there. My tattoo itself looks great. Happy with that. The customer service on the other hand, not so much. I got tattooed by Josh and when he showed me my tattoo I was getting I had some changes I wanted to make. It wasnt the right design for the arrow and when I wanted him to change some things he would huff and puff about it and get mad. This happened several times because its something permanent so I wanted it to be what I had pictured in my head. Then we get tattooed and I go to sit up but felt dizzy so I waited. He was tearing down his stuff but I wanted a line shaded in more so he got super mad about that. I get you need to get a new needle and I apologized and said he didnt need to but whatever. He did. So it was fixed. Then I go to pay and he originally quoted me $80 when I scheduled the appointment and it ended up being $150. Big jump from $80 especially since I wasnt aware of the price increase. So I paid without hassle because I didnt want to make a scene but just overall bad experience. Im sorry but I wont be coming back anytime soon...

I got my nose pierced here, and I appreciated how honest the staff was. My piercer was upfront about the cost and potential pain associated with my piercing. Also, when I said I did not want it as high on my nose as he originally marked, he helped me find where the piercing would look best and be low enough for my taste. Overall, it was a great experience.

Had my nose stud downsized by Emi the piercing apprentice and she did an amazing job! She was so calm and well spoken throughout the experience, explaining the steps and making sure that she had me comfortable with everything through the process!

The piercer Steven was super nice. I called ahead to stop by and grab a new piece. When I got there, Steven offered to change it for me! Would definitely go back/recommend, jewelry selection was great.

Lindsey was absolutely amazing!! She gave me the back tattoo of my dreams! Better than I ever even imagined:) Pain levels stayed tolerable all 7 and a half hours through, she really is an amazing person and artist! Highly recommend!

Overpriced and very pushy, received a piercing that Im satisfied with, but the cheapest stud they could offer was $60(or I was lied to) and they charge $30 for a 2 minute piercing job. While the job done was quality, I would not go back because it sort of felt like they were trying to get a copious amount of money for a very, very simple job and basic stud.

This place was awesome they fixed an irritated piercing I had from a different shop. Great tattoo and piercing experience :)

I was so scared to get my nose pierced, but they made me feel so safe. I went to get my septum pierced- but they told me my septum was a little crooked. However my piercing came out perfect! My piercer did an amazing job. I would definitely go back!

Went to Tooth and Nail for my daughter’s 18th birthday so she could get a tattoo. The place was very clean and friendly. Halfway through the tattoo she started to feel light headed and the other artists and staff ran to get her water, a fan, some candy, they all were genuinely concerned about her and it warmed my heart to see so many concerned for my baby. Plus, their work is AMAZING! I went 2 weeks later to get a coverup tattoo of a very poor decision I made when I was 17 and the design process that happened in front of me to create my tattoo was fascinating to watch. The idea I came in with and what they turned it into was nothing short of phenomenal! When I left the tattoo Shop to go to the mall afterwards, an employee at the store I went to asked me to take a picture of my new tattoo because she liked it so much. If you are considering getting a tattoo or piercing, look no further and go here.

Ive had ink done by Chris as well as a touch up and he is such a great artist and guy! Very comfortable to be around! This new shop is amazing too-super clean, beautiful interior, and great tools etc. I was super bummed I moved out of state, I would go here for all my tattoos!

Back in 2013 I had lost my eyebrows due to a wood burning stove incident... therefore had been drawing them on for 6 years! I had decided enough was enough and started looking into cosmetic tattooing.. and came across Manda at Tooth and Nail Tattooing! I called and scheduled my appointment which was surprisingly only 2 months out! In October of 2019 Manda tattooed my eyebrows and they look amazing! She was very professional and explained everything in detail! I couldnt be happier about the decision to go threw this whole process and person I picked to do them! Aint gonna lie it hurt like a b***h but totally worth it!

2 friends and I got tattoos and it was very overpriced for the work we got done. 2 of the tattoos were small line work but have many blow outs or not straight lines. Dude was also very heavy handed which I guess explains the blowouts. Have heard similar from other friends who went.

The people were all very nice and helpful, piercer was kind and talked through everything. I got my septum done about a week ago and it is crooked... so beware. For the price I paid I thought I would get a straight piercing.

I was there with my son we both had got the same tattoo done. I had mine done after my son got his done. I felt that the artist was being rushed by his girlfriend that kept passing back and forth by the door. At 1 point she came in and said (jeez just gonna take your time and get all the detail) well Id hope so! Needles to say my tattoo looks like it was way overworked and scared. My sons tattoo looks nice.I dont have Facebook, Im not downing your shop in anyway. I know the guy that did it isnt a normal artist there.

First time here. Walked in and someone announces they’ll be with us in a minute. Stood there nearly 10 min. a worker walked by us and went outside to have a cigarette. Waited a couple more minutes and left. Almost felt because we were females, with no tattoos visible, we were disrespected. Will never give them my business. First impression is everything.

Clean and great quality items. Higher priced pieces have a warranty which is great. One worker made me very awkward and was kind of rude but he was professional. Probably wont go back.EDIT: Considering that one of the main owners at this business contacted me to make sure I was okay and reassure me that everything was okay made everything a lot better 100%
