Gold Snake Tattoo

Could not speak more highly of this place and my go-to tattoo artist, Aaron. The environment is always welcoming from the first step in the door and I have always felt very comfortable here. Aaron is so wonderful to work with, he always brings my vision to life and is very flexible during the process. I’ve gotten 3 large pieces done by him, all including little elements of myself that he puts together beautifully. More than his artwork, he’s just an awesome, genuine dude and we have great conversations when I’m getting tattooed. 10/10.

Aaron did one of my tattoos a couple months ago and I couldn’t be happier with my experience. He was very professional, very kind, and gave me an amazing tattoo. I would definitely suggest getting a tattoo from him.

Have gotten a couple of tattoos done there by Aaron and I couldnt be happier with the work he has done! Aaron does beautiful work and is so chill. The most recent piece he did is probably one of my favorites! Overall great place, great people, and clean and comforting environment!

Garrett was recommended by a friend, and is outstanding. We’re two appointments into a full sleeve. He’s professional, efficient, diligently clean, clear communicator, and an excellent listener. He took my general idea and a few provided reference photos, and RAN with it. Crazy talented. I’m so happy with the design, the line work and dot shading. Already planning more pieces with him. Garrett is incredible, you will not be disappointed!

New building and shop is awesome. Clean and very open. Duff did 2 tattoos for me 6 yrs ago. I was flabbergasted at the finished product. Was to have an anchor w hat incorporating a very small cover up of words. My finished product is a foot full of blue “water” and an anchor. Didn’t know I was getting all the blue!!! It wasn’t on the drawing he was working from and was not talked about! I didn’t look during the process, I wish I had. Today I visited Duff to see if he could help enhance the anchor to make it stand out more and make the tattoo look less like a bruise. He told me he could do a couple of highlights in the anchor but that is about all he could do. I was so disappointed in his lack of interest in his desire to help. Guess he can’t enhance his own work? He gave me the impression he really had no interest. Unfortunate.My second tattoo by Duff is words along my foot. He didn’t tell me the words would run together……6 yrs later they have and he tells me that’s the way it goes.Lots of “should haves”in this lesson.

I hate to leave a crummy review & I’m happy with the very small piece I got here but I will not be returning. The artist had the “holier than thou” attitude I specifically try to AVOID in the tattoo industry. When I asked for a small adjustment to the teeny piece, it was as if I insulted their entire life work. I’m hoping for their sake it was just a bad day & their attitude isn’t always that bad.The shop itself was very clean & professional.

Never ever get a tattoo from Ty. He seem like a good guy with the nice talk but turned out he is very bad and extremely rude on customers service with 3 years old of skill. Luckily hes working in a small town like EU.Got my tattoo from Ty on January 30, 2024. He did a ok job that why I came back on January 24, 2024, for another one. I trusted him I didnt bring my glasses with me. Unlike the first time, he was in a hurry (I found out later that he had another appointment) and when I got home and took the wrap off, I saw that there were two small lines that he hadnt done. It looked like a three-year-old had drawn them, so I called and texted him to ask for a quick touch-up, but there was no answer. I had to go back to work and will be out of town for the next couple of months, so I went back the next day to ask if one of the guys there could just fix the two small lines for me. Luckily, one of them agreed to do it, but after three or four minutes of work, he said I had to pay $100. $100 for three or four minutes! I paid without saying anything because money is not an issue for me, but its ridiculous for some young kid.Finally, five days later, I got a message from Ty telling me to be patient. Hey, I dont have time and dont need to be patient if you can manage your time and book your appointments properly. I own a business in town also have another job too but I never did anything like you did, i always try to do a good job to make my customers happy and if they dont, I will try my best to fix it till they are satisfied.

Took my daughter to get our first tattoos together for her 23rd birthday. I called to make an appt, and though I got voicemail, I left a message and my call was returned promptly and I was able to schedule an appointment. They were very accommodating of our scheduling needs. Aaron was our tattoer and he was fantastic. We went in a few weeks prior for a consult, and he really listened to us. He called me the night before to confirm details and be sure he had the right reference materials. When we arrived, we were shown a few different designs that he worked up, taking into consideration all the things we wanted, and incorporating some great ideas we didnt think of and we were able to choose what we liked best- they were all great! He was very good about explaining what to expect, since it was our first, and very mindful of our comfort. We had pleasant conversation, and when we were done he gave good after care instructions. We love the design and application and think he did a fantastic job. Exceeded our expectations! I highly recommend Aaron, and we will no doubt return!!

Called for walk-in tats for my wife and her friend from out of town. Texted reference pics and able to set up both in about an hour and a half on a Saturday! Exceptionally clean and well lit. A+ there!! I like the layout of the shop. Well set up lobby area with couches & windows to the workstations. I spoke to a few artists between their appointments. Everyone was very friendly. The work I saw was excellent. My only 2 faults were the music (hipity-hop, not a fan) was a bit loud, making it more difficult to communicate, and the shop minimum is a little steep for the basic flash the girls wanted. Having said that, I would consider going back for a consult on a bigger piece.

I went to Gold Snake for my first tattoo since moving to Eau Claire, and I will definitely go back! Aaron did an awesome job, and my tattoo looks even better than I was imagining. Seriously, I cannot say enough good things about this place.

I was recommended Matt Duff by a family member because of his skill in solid black. I can say with full confidence In regards to his solid black; its amazing. The environment was very friendly and no-hassle. Matt was amazing to have as an artist and wasnt afraid to talk. Without a doubt I will come back here for another tattoo eventually. Thank you guys for the amazing experience.

My husband and I got our very first tattoos at Gold Snake. We are in our 60s. I had breast cancer earlier this year and we wanted tattoos to honor me being cancer free and honoring the battle we went through. Aaron did both of our tattoosSo impressed with this delightful, talented young man. He was so nice, so professional. It was a great experience for both of us. Nothing but beyond positive experience. Eau Claire has become elevated with their newest addition of tattoo shops. Not only is the owner extremely professional, he is an extraordinary artist. His work is consistently recognized by everyone I see through the tattoos he has done on me. Excellent “bedside manner” and always a great experience. Being comfortable through the entire process is key and they make sure you are excited and ready to roll before any appointment. I am very proud that I can be the owners walking canvas. Very clean, friendly, my artist was very focused and seemed very passionate about his work. Answered my follow up questions in a timely manner. Will be going back for a next tattoo in future.

Tattoo turned out incredible, amazing color and design. Took 6 hours, which was expected. Artist Nick was very accommodating for my first big color tattoo, going slowly and offering numbing spray for the pain, checking in often. The only negative is that when I had first gone in to schedule and show them my design, they had given me an estimate of $200-300. Then, after it was finished, I was charged $500, not sure why it was such a grand difference? Definitely worth it, but I would have liked that actual number earlier to prepare for that financially.(really bad pictures, but the design is amazing and turned out great with the color!)

Aaron did an awesome job! It was my mom and I’s first tattoos and he made sure to explain everything before we started. Talked us through everything and helped distract me from the pain. Offered water and comfy chairs too. Just an awesome environment. Everyone else there was super friendly as well. Definitely coming back soon for another one!

I went to Gold Snake about a month ago for a consultation on getting a tattoo fixed. Aaron slept in and was late to the appointment. He was nice enough to not take a deposit because he was unsure if he was able to do it and told me he would keep it touch. For about a month it was radio silence. The day of the next appointment, less than two hours before it, I got a call from him telling me he wasn’t comfortable doing the tattoo. While I completely understand bc I asked for such a big coverup and I appreciate an explanation and not taking a deposit, I am just disappointed in the lack of professionalism. I wish I had been told much sooner than the day of that I wasn’t getting it worked on so I had more time to find other places. Being told “I probably should of told you sooner,” when you spent a month saving and planning, can cause a bit of frustration.

Clean & comfortable shop! Duff is an amazing artist and will turn your tattoo ideas into full blown reality, would recommend him 10/10 from the smallest to biggest jobs you can imagine. Will definitely be a returning customer for all my tattoos. #GoldSnakeTattoo

My friend and I decided we wanted to get a tattoo together while on vacation. We called several shops to ask if they take walk-ins. Every shop said they were booked for the day. Fast forward later in the afternoon and I received a call from Matt asking if I still wanted a tattoo. I didn’t give him my name or number when I first called about openings, but he made the effort to save my number. He called to say that he ended up having an opening and asked if we could still come in. We drove over and he did the tattoos for us. He was really nice and the shop is super clean and professional. Will definitely go back next time we’re in Eau Claire.

My fifth tattoo with Duff, but my first rib tattoo - I was absolutely terrified of the pain I would experience because of what I had heard about getting tattooed on that area of the body. Duff completely eased my nerves, and kept conversation going so that I could keep my mind off the pain.He is funny, clever, fast, efficient, and a great artist. If that weren’t enough to keep you coming back, the prices can’t be beat. His all around great service is why I continue to travel an hour and a half to see an artist I trust will do good work, every time.I’m sure the artists Duff has selected for his shop are just as good. Whether you’re looking for something personal, or something just for fun, Gold Snake Tattoo is the place to go!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Not only am I in love with my tattoo. But its a cover up from a different artist in illinois and I have been so ashamed by what was underneath for so many years. I didnt even want to wear short sleeves. I went to Matt he came up with a killer design to cover it up and I just cant belive it was possible! This place is so clean and youll be comfortable getting a tattoo here as well because everyone is soooooo friendly and laid back. I can not wait to go back!

Matts letter work isnt any good. It was 3 simple words in cursive, he used a guide but rushed on the last word so u its hard to see what it says. Not only on mine but my sisters. Over priced too
