I recently went to Eli for my first tattoo after looking at many other artists and I was definitely not disappointed! He did a fantastic job and was more than happy to work with me on design and placement until I was completely satisfied with it. I walked in worried about pain level but he worked fast and with a very light hand, causing me to hardly even flinch. I went with a friend and she was so impressed she decided to go back the next day to make an appointment. When we went back Eli was more than happy to change my dressing that had started to fold up at the bottom. I would definitely recommend Bay City Tattoo Company to anyone looking for an all around great experience!

Home Away From HomeWe were coming from Jacksonville, FL to visit some family in Erie, PA and they recommended a place that I could get a really good cover up tattoo. I was wanting to get something fixed and start the process of getting my sleeve done. I read all the reviews from the shop and was eager to start. Eli and his wife Annette were awesome and made the whole experience great. Not only were they great but the shop was like nothing Ive ever seen before. There was all kinds of cool stuff to look at and purchase. Lingerie, jewelry, clothing, collectibles, tattoo guns and more. He was even talking about doing air brushing. Anyway we sat down and talked about what I wanted in my tattoo and he showed me ways that he could not only cover up the existing tattoo, but improve it. He gave me ideas on what would look good, and explained on why other things wouldnt. Very professional and never forced anything on me. This tattoo took hours to complete and we talked the whole time. Im telling you I have over 20 tattoos and Ive never been this comfortable with an artists at any shop. before. Overall it was a great experience and I will be returning here next time Im in Erie!!!! A++++++++

Right from the first phone call they were so welcoming and flexible and simply excited to be working with you. Eli was a very hospitable and kind person that has a lot of experience and is a great tattoo artist. Absolutely fabulous experience! Drove from the Buffalo area so my daughters could get a tattoo (my youngest is 17, so she can’t get a tattoo in NYS). My husband and I were so impressed with Eli, we decided to get tattooed as well! He worked with us from 8 PM to 3 AM... he never rushed and truly took the time to pay attention to detail and deliver truly superior work. We were all highly satisfied with the experience.

My very first impression was this is a very clean atmosphere, each room I went into was very organized, and professional. I showed up, showed Eli what I wanted, and he worked with me to find the perfect design. I live out of state and came back to get a tribute piece done back in May here and after a few months, it turned into not being exactly how I wanted. Eli got me in when I was in town. He not only fixed any fading, but nearly redid the entire piece until we were both happy with it. Hes super talented, friendly and wants only for his clients to be happy with his work on them. These guys are super friendly and knowledgeable of what you want. They were very flexible with me and did an amazing job on my forearm tattoo. The artist was very light handed and quick, but the speed he went did not lower the quality of his work. Im going to be going back to get my touch up work when I need and hopefully be getting more from him on the future. Their puppy was adorable too. 10/10 Will be going to these guys again.

Eli was absolutely amazing. My sister, mother, and I got tattoos of my grandmothers signature to commemorate her passing and all three came out perfectly. The tattoos are perfect replicas of her signature, and it was a great first tattoo experience. The three of us walked in and we were done in under an hour, and we are all thrilled.

If you are looking for a tattoo parlor (or shop...depending on your level of politic correctness semantics...) that is truly welcoming - go to Eli! My husband and I are middle aged outdoor loving geeks who wanted to get a tattoo to show our love of the outdoors, and flyfishing. We are basically tattoo newbies and this place was awesome!! First Tattoo and I absolutely love it he did an amazing job, bay city was the first Tattoo shop I considered.I had herd of a couple good shops but it wasnt all good, I actually went to No Regrets they where good artist but there personalities sucked and they where dick heads and not professional.my girlfriend got her first tattoo there and she says the lettering is way too small, she doesnt even like to show it, so Id have to say she definitely Regrets it. Just got my first tattoo at Bay City, Eli did an amazing job on it and I love how it came out. Very reasonably priced, considering it was a lot of black plus glow ink (which so far is marvelous). As a self harm cover up tattoo, it meant a lot to me to have it done right and it turned out perfect. I would rate ten out of five if I could and I will absolutley be going back for more.

A complicated piece that Ive wanted done for years but was nervous about getting because I wasnt sure anyone could give me exactly what I had in mind. Ive been coming to Bay City Tattoo for over 10 years, Ive gotten ever single tattoo from this establishment and have never been unsatisfied except for 1 time when I didnt get my Ink touched up by the Artist who did it but he is no longer there. I just got a Unicorn piece on my upper right thigh by Eli and Im super happy...I named her Lilliana because of the Lilly choker thats around the Unicorns neck. I came to his establishment at a time when he was supposed to be open, he told us that he couldn’t do it, but he’d do my tattoo for $50 which is cheaper than it would be elsewhere. When I went back at the time we agreed he again turned me away as he had been working on his car, he gave me a coupon for $100 for my trouble. We agreed on ANOTHER day and he doesn’t even have the courtesy to show up. His shop wasn’t even open like it should have been. Definitely taking my business elsewhere.

I am doing a coverup today of a tattoo that was done here 3 weeks ago. She called me the day after close to tears begging for a consult. I am very torn as to write this because I’m sure the artist is very passionate about doing tattoos but the quality of work needs to be improved massively. It is a slight on tattoo shops and their owners and the industry to be putting out work like this and keeping clients in the dark as to quality work. As a shop owner that relies on good art and honest business, I feel this work is beyond subpar and I do not understand how 250 people have given 5 star reviews? Seems odd. I’m not here to slander the artist, I’m hoping for the sake of the tattoo industry and it’s perception that choices are improved upon. I am all for people following their dreams and being entepaneurs but there is a huge miss between the reviews and the quality of these tattoos. Everyone involved should be educating themself MUCH MORE and knowing what they are doing to others and themself. If you have love for yourself as an artist or client, please do not buy into “I’ve been tattooing x amount of years” etc and think that is worth anything. Bad art and lack of effort is timeless, despite the price tag. I’ve worked with plenty of tattooers that use verbal gimmicks to get people in the chair. Take the time to better yourselves and make better decisions artistically when operating at a “professional” shop level. It’s your bodies people, drive the xtra 30 minutes to get quality or risk looking likely have zero standards for yourself whatsoever. I literally am pained by looking at these results consistently. Props to the shop for being so nice looking. Maybe less time on looking like quality and more time on building quality via more education and putting ego aside. Maybe try using needles smaller than a 9 liner too? I really hope this helps people be better. I know I’m risking angering people here but as a shop owner I am angered on a level seeing people’s bodies transformed in this manner and then wondering what it being said to allot 250 5 star reviews. Something isn’t adding up and it is ruining people self image and perception by others. I hope this doesn’t turn into more but if so, I’m happy to put my skills where my mouth is. I’d like to help improve this art if allowed to and can build such a relationship with the artist(s). Please recognize this quality for what it is and seek better for yourself before altering a fellow human or yourselfs one body for life. I am not looking forward to this coverup or the backlash in the industry for having to answer for this quality of work exponentially. I am not alone either BCT, many of my peers are upset as well. This is an attempt to better the quality of art and technique in my industry that affects humans til the day they die. I’m not being out of line. I’m trying to be respectful to every human involved in this. Myself included. I am now pulled into this debacle and can’t turned a blind eye in good conscience. Please. Be. Better. Everyone.

I went here to get my second tattoo with my family & family friends. My mom and I got our second tattoos and my friend & her mom got their first tattoos. The place was very clean and welcoming. Will definitely go back for more!

I had a difficult tattoo design for my second tattoo so I drove from Pittsburgh to Erie because I knew he could deliver. I rated this 5 stars the first time I went and would for my second tattoo.

I came here THREE seperate times and every single time I left without a tattoo. We made two seperate appointments and the first time I was told he couldnt for no reason in particular. And this last time I came he didnt even have the decency to show up. I dont know how this parlor stays in business if this is how customers are treated, but I can tell you I wont be coming back.
