Best piercing experience I’ve ever had hands down! Everything is clean/sterile and you can tell how much effort goes into running the studio. All of the staff were extremely friendly & accommodating throughout the scheduling, booking, and piercing session. There are a ton of jewelry options and I appreciated how patient everyone was as I made my decision. I ended up getting a double helix with Toni, who was the absolute best in terms of knowledge, aftercare help, and in general :) Can’t recommend her or Burly Fish highly enough!

While Im not new to tattoos, this was my most intricate design that completes a full sleeve. Darren was absolutely AMAZING! During all 4 of our sessions, he was a rockstar. He is an amazing tattoo artist. If you are looking to get your first tattoo or are looking to add to what you already have, Burly Fish is your place and Darren will make you smile ear to ear! Thank you Darren for this masterpiece.

Justin did a great job with my piercing, very kind and skilled!However, I do believe that this studio needs to review ADA law in regards to service animals. Upon entering, the front desk woman asked if my dog was wearing a badge. My dog was wearing a harness with multiple patches identifying her as a service dog, but apparently that was not what she was looking for. The woman stated that they want the dog to wear a badge for the comfort of the workers. However, under ADA law, service dogs do not need to wear an identifying vest, badge, or other gear. After explaining this, she said that she does have the right to refuse anyone on any basis, but she would allow my dog this time because she was well behaved. If this business had any doubt about my service dog, federal law permits them to ask two questions: 1) is this animal a service animal? 2) what task is the animal train to perform? Furthermore, if my dog had been disruptive, federal law also permits them to ask me to remove my dog.In short, requiring a badge is not legal. A badge is not an indicator of a legitimate service dog. If you have doubts as to the legitimacy of a service animal, you can ask two questions. Denying service to someone because of their service animal is a violation of the ADA.If I come back in the future, I expect the staff to be educated.

I lost my Rook earring on vacation. I was unable to reinsert my Rook jewelry so I called Burly Fish Tattoo and piercing as we were driving through Flagstaff. They were extremely accommodating and fit me into their schedule. I was in and out within 15 minutes and we were back on the road to our vacation

I love burly fish. it was the first piercing shop i tried when i moved to flagstaff and i haven’t been to another one since. i’ve had three piercings done there and each experience has been wonderful. the customer service is excellent, the piercers are funny, professional, and take great care to make the experience as easy as possible, and the vibe is easygoing and chill. everything is clean. i really cannot say how much i love the workers there. such sweet people. highly recommend.

Super friendly and professional! I walked in for a checkup on a fresh tongue piercing (done elsewhere) that fell out. Within 5 mins they did a thorough check. They kindly didn’t even charge me. Definitely recommend for piercings in Flagstaff area!

Went here for a double helix piercing, they pierced it with two hoops which is uncommon for cartilage piercings as other piercers have said this makes it much harder to heal. The piercings gave me a lot of problems but I was able to keep them with lots of care taken during the healing process. There are definitely better places to get pierced in Flagstaff

Ive had all my tattoos done here by Darren and his line work is amazing. Ive also been pierced by Robyn and every time Ive been here everyone is always nice and professional. They dont do walk-ins so you have to make an appointment for a consultation but its worth the wait, even though they might be booked out a little, the work that comes from this place is that good. They have a big selection of jewelry for piercings and everybody who works here makes sure you got what you wanted and really make sure you know how to take care of it when you leave so you get the best outcome for your money. Its the best choice for a tattoo shop in Flag.

Was looking for a salon to for a nostril piercing. Justin did an amazing job! Was quite friendly, very informative, and explained healing procedures that I had never heard before, it was an amazing experience. Will absolutely be back!

If i could rate this studio higher i would. The front desk host was the sweetest and talked to me for about 30 minutes. Justin i believe his name was introduced himself and asked for my name. He walked me through the whole piercing so calmly he could tell i was a little scared. The best piercing experience i’ve ever had, and the most amazing personable employees!

Tried to get tattooed but it was booked... got a shirt and some awesome stickers too!!! The service was polite and very save with distancing herself and being thoughtful in these crazy times with covid! Thanks again guys! I will be back!

Very professional and nice. Earrings are quality metal and all jewelry had internally threaded or push pin backs. Our piercer was very friendly and thoroughly explained after care. My only complaint is that they recommended salt water instead of saline spray and sent us home with a baggie of special salt and instructions to add it to distilled water.

I came in four days ago for my very first piercing. The staff is so friendly! I hadnt eaten or drank anything, and they gave me a snack and juice. I let my piercer know that sometimes I faint, and she was incredibly understanding about it. She talked me through both nipple piercings, allowed me a rest in between, and told me detailed aftercare instructions. It was a very enjoyable experience! My new piercings look great :)

I came here to get my nipples pierced very last minute. I was determined to get them done and the place where I had been recommended to go was closed. I traveled an hour to come here because of the reviews, and they did not miss. Justin was my piercer and he was so amazing. He gave me the privacy I needed as well as an extensive amount of rules on how to properly care for my new piercings. I will never go anywhere else for a piercing ever again. I had a piercing done yesterday and I was very nervous to get it done but Kayla made me so comfortable and made the experience so much better! I would 100% recommend her to do your piercings! Also Darren does amazing tattoos I get all of my work done by him! LOVE THIS PLACE

Was visiting Flagstaff for my birthday, some locals recommended the shop. I called the same day and they were able to get me in quickly. The front desk gal was super helpful, went through the new Covid process with me over the phone, and broke down the cost in front of me. I seen Kelli on their website and had to have her for my piercer. Kelli is professional, fun, and really knows her art through and through. By far the best piercing experience I’ve ever had. Got my helix done and it’s on the road to healing well only a week in! Highly recommend this shop and Kelli!

I went to this piercing shop to get a shorter bar for my nose piercing. The lady I believe her name is karla took out my piercing and said she didn’t have the correct shorter bar for my current diamond stud which was fine. She put it back in and I told her it felt like it was still loose she checked it and said it was fine. I went home that night and the diamond stud fell out and I could not find it anywhere. In my two years of having my piercing it has never fallen out until she removed it. I called the next morning and she told me I would have to just buy a whole new one for 70$ regardless of it being her fault that she didn’t put the piercing on correctly.

I got a daith piercing from Robyn and had a great experience. The front desk was very friendly and gave a lot of piercing jewelry to choose from. They were very upfront with the pricing. I also switched out my tragus jewelry and they gave pricing for several different combos for both jewelry pieces I was interested in. Robyn was great as a piercer. Very friendly and professional. The shop was very clean and everyone was wearing masks. I was very comfortable here and would definitely go back.

Everyone was very friendly, and Robyn was amazing! I know piercing isnt perfect and anatomy is all different. Robyn pierced my tongue, but noticed right off the bat it was just ever so slightly crooked. (it happens) Instead of letting me leave and heal a crooked piercing, she told me and gave me the choice of being okay with it, or redoing it. I know me, so I asked her to redo it. She was so kind and patient. And round #2, it turned out perfect! *once it stops hurting Ill take pictures and add them to my review.*

I got a dermal piercing from Robyn and she did an amazing job! She was professional and made me comfortable. She explained the process and after care clearly, and thourougly. Everything was clean and came out of sterilized bags. I definitely recommend coming to her if you are getting a piercing!

I had two lobe piercings in the past here (done by Kelli) and just got a tattoo done by Darren. Burly Fish is super professional, super clean, and really really friendly. Im beyond happy with my tattoo and I plan on coming back in the future to get a third lobe piercing and a helix done by Kelli again.

I went here one day after school with my roommate and friend. We all got different piercings; a helix, an industrial, and a tragus piercing. Robyn was our piercer, and after reading reviews online I asked her about her job and how long she had been doing it (5+ years). She was the nicest, most knowledgeable piercer Ive had. She explained her process, her placement, and method for each of our piercings, and was incredibly professional and kind. Each of us would 100% recommend Robyn for your piercings, and we will definitely be back soon!! :)

Been going here for years for many different piercings. Always felt comfortable with the different people Ive gone to. They are certified in piercing, so that makes me feel even more confident in their teams abilities. Very clean shop. They have great selections of jewelry. All you can ask for and more!

I came to get jewelry for an existing nose ring and they had me make an appointment, so I assumed that they would install it for me, but instead I was just given the jewelry and the backing in sanitary bags and sent on my way. I didnt know what size backing to get so they just picked one without even looking at my nose and it is way too long, every time I move my nose I have to push the piercing back in because it sticks out a couple millimeters. It took me 20 minutes to put in and I dropped it like 3 times because I dont have the right equipment to put it in so the sanitation is just gone. It was $110 with no installation and the wrong size. Just seems a little unprofessional to send people home with the wrong jewelry size for that much money and not even offer to put it in for them. Ive paid less at other stores for the same exact jewelry and installation, but Im from out of town and this place was recommended to me, so pretty disappointing. 4 stars because I dont want to affect your rating for this, but I wanted you and others to know what to expect.

I just got my other nostril pierced and my septum pierced as well by Robyn and she was so sweet! She made sure both of my nose piercings were even and did a quick, painless job. I’ll definitely come back for more piercings in the future:)

Robyn was a miracle worker that squeezed me into her schedule after a piercing snafu. She saved my piercing and fixed my defective gold hoop. Willow helped get me on the schedule and followed up with me several times. Such a pleasant experience that turned a really stressful time into a fun memory. Thanks for all your help guys!

I have gotten a daith piercing and a helix piercing from Burly Fish. Both were the most painless piercings I have received and both healed cleaner, easier, and faster than any other piercings I have had. The piercing staff at Burley Fish is extremely thorough, careful, and go the extra mile to ensure that people are comfortable and confident before getting pierced. Hands down the best piercing place in Flagstaff.

I got about 6 or so pieces from Darren, 2 out of those being pretty big cover ups.My experience with Burly Fish, since day one, was extremely welcoming and professional. The shop is clean and the owner, I believe his name is Patrick, came across as a really down to earth guy, with a nice vibe. Hence the vibe within his shop.My artist Darren is by far the best artist Ive ever had the pleasure of working with. He listened to every single thing I said and if, for whatever reason, he felt maybe XYZ wouldnt work, hed vocalize that and suggest something else. He allowed me to express my vision through his hands and I could not be happier. This man is truly gifted.There is so much I could say but number one would be a huge Thank You to Mr. Darren B, for sharing your gift with the world and helping someone to feel more like them within their skin.And thanks to Patrick for creating such an establishment that harnesses real authentic talent. I have gotten six of my piercings and soon to be two of my tattoos form Burly Fish and I wouldnt go anywhere else! The staff are friendly, soothing of anxious clients, and one of the only ones in town to be accredited with a piercing association. Heard so many bad stories about other places in Flagstaff but never Burly Fish!Ive had three of my friends also go for tattoos and piercings and all had good, safe experiences!

I’ve went to burley fish multiple times in the past and was always a great experience. Sadly, this last time I went was not good at all. I went in to get my nose pierced and walked in 5 minutes before they opened because the door was unlocked and figured mind as well go in and get checked in and was fine with waiting. When I walked in a guy was sweeping and gave me a super dirty look and looked at his watch. I apologized for being early but pointed out the door was open. He then said I needed a mask which I was fine with and I apologized and said I would go to my car and grab one he then rudely said “well what do you want?” And I said “I want to get a nose piercing” and he said “we are booked all day for piercings” so I said okay and left. I wasn’t aware you had to make an appointment to get piercings as they take like 5 minutes but even so the guy didn’t have to be so rude. Anyways, I ended up going to woodys old school tattoo and piercing shop and they got me right in and were so nice and amazing (: I suggest you go to Woodys instead if you want a piercing!

Got my first tattoo here and Im actually going back for another today! I love Darrens work! I also had a piercing in my ear done by Robyn and its healing perfectly with absolutely NO problems thanks to the aftercare tips she gave me. 10/10 best tattoo shop in Flag

Took my almost 17 year old daughter in for her first tattoo. We were a walk in and were welcomed immediately. Had to make a trip home for her birth certificate...these guys follow rules to the max, which I appreciated greatly. The place was spotless and friendly. Darren did a great job with the tattoo and also answered our questions with both humor and professionalism. I was pleased.

Went here to get an eyebrow piercing from Robyn and am super happy with the result! Everything was very clean and high quality, and Robyn was super knowledgeable and friendly and helped me feel really at ease! I will definitely be returning here in the future and highly recommend!

I went here for my first tattoo and it was an overall great experience! Darren did a fantastic job on my tattoo (3 arrows crossing over) and he was really cool and got me through my nerves. Quick and reasonable pricing. Youre allowed to bring one person with you so dont bring a party. Would totally go again

Kelli pierced my nostril and added third holes to each earlobe. She had the most wonderful bedside manner, putting me at ease and reducing my nerves (and is also a delightful human being...pretty sure I nervously chatted her face off, and she was nothing but friendly and gracious).Kelli is also an artist - she knew exactly where to place the nostril piercing, though it was a different location than I originally expected. She was absolutely right, and it looks like it always belonged exactly there. I am SO happy with every piercing, and they are healing so well. Everything and everyone was extremely professional. If I lived here, I would come back for more!

Darren did an amazing job on my tattoo. everything as perfect. great color, clean lines and a must for me, a light hand. I am working on the next piece of my story and i will definitely, hand down choose DARREN & BURLY FISH for sure. Definitely worth the 60 mile round trip!!

I went in to switch my stud to a hoop, and I specifically asked for a hoop that would fit snuggly against my nose. I went with the jewelry that the employee had recommended, and got it switched. As soon as I saw how it fit, I was very upset as it was much bigger than what I had wanted. After I expressed my dissatisfaction, the piercer informed me that there was nothing they could do. They also informed me that all jewelry sales were final, so I was stuck with the piece that I wasn’t happy with.

I got my first tattoo done by Darren a couple of weeks ago. The facilities are very clean and everyone who works there is friendly. I went into a different shop first and wasnt treated with the same respect as I was at Burly Fish. Darren took the time to make sure I was doing okay during the whole process. The tattoo turned out great!I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get a tattoo.

Just had my ears pierced by Robyn Johnson . Shes an awesome person and an exceptional piercer. I will highly recommend her to anyone in the flagstaff area. I had 00 gages 4 ears ago and after getting out of the army, I have been wanting to get my ears pierced. She check out my ears and was able to pierce them. It was super fast and barley painful at that. Vs the first person who ever pierced my ears, she was amazing/extremely professional.

Very clean and professional!! This was my first time getting my tatas pierced and Kelli made it super relaxing and eased my jitters..she did a great job and made sure everything was perfect... overall great experience and have been recommending them to all my friends. Will definitely be back for some tattoo work as well.

Usually i go to woodys for jewelry, i went here bc woodys was closed. woodys usually will give me a free ball when i lose one or jewelry is usually 10-20$. i got charged 40$ for an eyebrow piece. way too overpriced.

Robyn pierced my ear about 5 years ago. The ball fell off of my hoop earlier this week and when I went in to replace it she was very kind, personable, and professional! I would 10/10 recommend.

Super awesome atmosphere immediately once you walk in. Knowledgeable and precise staff. Very cleanly and trustworthy tools/jewelry. Christopher pierced my tongue and walked through each step throughout the process. I have had over 20 piercings and this was by far the fastest. I had an appointment and was out within 15 minutes of being there.

Just scheduled my second tattoo appointment with Darren today and the first work that he did on my wrist was amazing. Great line work and an overall beautiful tattoo. Working on my legs now with a traditional theme and I couldnt be happier with the overall experience at Burly Fish.

Called in early Dec to order a zip up hoodie that I had seen somebody wearing. Was told they were out of stock but they would be reordering very soon so I paid my money and waited. Finally in February I received a pullover hoodie, definitely not what I had asked for. I contacted them to return the item and was told I would be responsible for not only shipping the product back but also the original shipping of the incorrect product which means I am out almost $30 for something I dont have. Not cool Burly Fish

I have gotten multiple piercings here and not only were they super nice but they made me feel comfortable and relaxed! I absolutely love their jewelry and actually will not buy my lip rings any where else!

My cousin has been getting tatted by Patrick, the owner, for many years. The ink he puts down is truly unique, creative and high end. I always think it is best to present a tattoo artist with an idea which causes them to rise to their best work. I feel, based on my cousins ink, that Patrick fully leveled up.

Yeah...... uh super unfairly priced. the ball end of my nipple piercing broke off, so I went to get it fixed, and they wouldnt fix it for me because I just needed to super glue it back on. I then asked if I could just get a new one to replace it, yet they were going to make me pay for one -- when THEIR jewelry broke. completely unfair.

I saw Robyn for a piercing and could not be more pleased! Everything was super clean... quick, easy and (almost) painless. Ill be going back for more, very soon.

Had a hard time finding any piercing jewelry that would work, even though I was very eager to get something new. I found the service was laced with attitude. I would not go back-this is what a typical tattoo/piercing shop would be- gotta be too cool to be there.

Robyn Johnson pierced my left nostril, and did an amazing job! she was very sanitary, and was kind when i had anxiety (this was my first face piercing).

I went in today to ask if it was possible to re-pierce my belly button. The lady with green/blue hair said that Kelli was with a customer and would be with me shortly. The lady behind the counter left, Kelli came out and took another customer back without even knowing that I was there to see her. The other woman behind the counter was oblivious. I walked out, wont be back and wont refer anyone.

Very relaxed, professional environment. Robyn did a couple piercings for me. Everyone here was friendly and helpful!

Got screwed over twice with scheduling, the second time making it impossible to complete my tattoos. If you want to work with a parlor that has even one iota of sense and the lowest baseline of customer service possible, go somewhere else.
