Cardinal Tattoo & Piercing

Took my 7 year old to get her ears pierced after seeing the reviews online. Matt was phenomenal. So kind and patient. He made sure she was good with the experience and that the piercings were in the perfect spot, not just for now, but with consideration as to future ear piercings and how they would sit in the ear with these. This is not at all like your average amateur traumatic Claire’s quick gun piercing. This is an experience, and I am grateful for it and how my daughter felt before, during and after.

By far the BEST experience Ive had with a piercer. Matt was so professional, patient, and informative! Answered all of my questions, as well as went above and beyond to make sure i was comfortable. Absolute 10/10 experience, would highly reccomend this place! The shop itself was very cleanly, with a friendly atmosphere.

Came for a nose piercing for my 16th birthday. Matt did such a great job that I came back for a tongue piercing for my 18th birthday. Again, he did such a great job! Im so excited to get my first tattoo from them by Halloween and Im so excited to meet one of the tattoo artists!

The atmosphere as you walk in is just amazing the place is clean and sanitary and artwork all over the walls makes you feel comfortable,the people working there are friendly and ready too answer questions that you have. The work they do are amazing,the amount of detail they put into their work makes them top tier. Would recommend them always and wil definitely go back too get more work done.

I got my nose pierced by Matt and he did such a wonderful job to make sure I was comfortable. I havent had a piercing in over 14 years and was quite nervous. He chatted away while my brain malfunctioned during the piercing and helped keep me occupied by the conversation. Definitely going back to get the other side done when this is healed!Edit : 8 weeks later and its healed wonderfully. No problems at all!Edit 2 : I got a tattoo with Caleb 8/14/24 and he did such a wonderful job. It was my second ever tattoo and I made an oopsie in not eating enough before going. He and the staff were so accommodating and made sure I was okay since I started to feel nauseous. An absolute gem of a store and I cant wait to return!

My first time here. I went as a walk-in for a couple of piercings. They were super friendly and able to squeeze me in their schedule, I had to wait like 15 minutes, which was no problem at all. They were super friendly, professional, and made me feel comfortable. I would definitely recommend!

My husband and I walked in today and Caleb was able to see us without an appointment. He was patient while I hand wrote the phrase we were getting tattooed. He made sure it was the right size and correct placement for us. Caleb made sure we were comfortable during our visit. One thing we really appreciated about Cardinal and Caleb was how clean the environment was. We will definitely come back to see him for any other tattoos we want. Thanks again, dude!

Ted was awesome at my cover-up, I gave him full reign of what to do, at first we were thinking about a panther, but then 10 minutes later Ted came out with a drawing of an awesome looking eagle, I am very pleased and happy about it, looks awesome, thanks Ted what great job you did on it.

Had an accident and needed to get my nostril re-pierced and Matt was just great! He was sweet and patient, very knowledgeable. It was such an easy process for the both of us. The front desk person was very nice as well. Nostril piercing was only $45 for hoop/ring which is definitely a steal in my book! Definitely coming back for any other future piercings.

I absolutely love Ted, I give him an idea of what I want and let him have a go at designing within my idea, he always comes up with a design better then I expected.

I had an excellent experience getting my nose pierced by Matt. This was my first facial piercing ever so I was very nervous. Matt was assuring, understanding and very kind. He was informative about the entire process, and he even helped changed my friend’s nose ring to a hoop for her! I highly trusted Matt and he did not disappoint.

The ONLY place I go to for piercings. Matt is the BEST piercer in Fort Wayne. Extremely professional, kind, funny, makes the piercing process easy and comfortable. Excellent! I researched a few places around town. Was going for basic pierced ears and the gentleman that helped us was great. The place was clean, tidy, felt inviting, and was not overly expensive for the care we received. Highly recommend.

As all the other reviewers have stated -Matt at Cardinal is a phenomenal person to go to for piercings! He did my 16yr olds 2nd lobe piercings and my 7yr olds first lobe piercings. He did great with both girls, making sure they felt comfortable and ready. I only wish he had been around when I had my ears pierced 25+ years ago!

I got my first facial piercing done here (a septum) by Matt. He was wonderful! He made me feel at ease and was really nice about the entire process. He was honest about the nature of a septum piercing and patient with me when I got lightheaded (nothing he did, its just how I am when I see blood/the adrenaline made me woozy). I was worried about looking dumb for needing to lay down but the entire staff was super cool about it and assured me that its normal and it happens sometimes. I was not rushed out, and was given as much time as I needed to feel better. Matt does pierce with just a retainer to start off for a septum so you might not have a super cute ring to start off but you can come back when it heals more and he will change the ring for you for free (other than the cost of the jewelry of course!) and does it for life. Matt is super dope, is professional but friendly, and you can tell he really cares about what he does. Highly recommend and will be going back for future piercings :)

Matt really lived up to all of his 5-star reviews. I went in for second lobe piercings as I haven’t been able to use the existing for years. He took the time to check if the holes really were “closed” and was able to get earrings in without repiercing or any trauma to my ear. I had brought my 11 year old daughter to watch so she knew how it was done if she ever decides to get hers pierced. Matt was great at explaining and I’d definitely go back. Saved me money! Anyone lesser could’ve repierced without me knowing any better.

I got the other side of my nostril and my eyebrow pierced here a couple weeks ago and I had the best time. My piercer made sure to explain everything he was doing and made sure to make both of my piercings were lined up correct. He was very through when explaining aftercare overall a great experience!

Had gotten some suggestions for this place by friends and decided to get my first tattoo here and I definitely wasn’t disappointed at all. They had amazing care specially after I almost passed out and they were very patient with me for a tattoo that probably should’ve taken only 5 minutes that ended up take 30 minutes I was very pleased for there patient and the quality of the tattoo

I’ve wanted to get my nose pierced since I was 13. Finally, 13 years later, I was able to do it! The staff was super friendly while my friend and I waited. I called ahead and Matt agreed to stay a little late after his previous appointment to take care of me and I’m so thankful that he did. This dude has some magical calming aura about him. Straight up the tattooing/piercing version of Bob Ross (who we talked about!). He made me feel so comfortable even though I had a needle sticking in my nose and made it VERY clear that once you get a piercing from him, you’re a client for life. Matt, thank you so much for helping me fulfill a dream I’ve had since I was a kid!

My sister and I both got piercings from Matt, he made it seem effortless and he was such a good guy, it really made our experience so much better than any other place we have been too. I’m only doing this review right now because I’m thinking about getting a new tat, and while looking up some stuff today, Cardinal showed up and I can’t NOT rave about this place. I haven’t had a tattoo done by them yet but they did a piercing for me about a year ago. Matt has to be THE BEST dude I’ve ever met. He’s super chill, talked to my bf and I about EVERYTHING i needed to know about the piercing and he even spoke to my bf about their mutual friend. It was so comfortable there and welcoming. It just felt like another home, but with needles and ink everywhere! Matt gave us both his card and told me to come back if I needed help changing the piercings once they healed. He said he’d be happy to do it, and free! Impressive service and artwork. Y’all are fantastic and I recommend everyone to you!

I went here with my stepdaughter to get her first ear piercing and mine as well. Very professional and friendly team with a clean facility. Matt did a wonderful job. He was patient with her as she was very nervous. He did not rush and talked both of us through the whole thing. I loved that they do not use electric piercing here. That is what brought us in the first place.

So Ive never gotten a tattoo here although all of them that Ive seen have been awesome work. I have gotten all of my piercings in the last however many years here, though, and Matt is awesome. You can tell he knows his stuff and takes his work seriously and it very much shows in both the healing process and the results.

Matt was the one who did NY piercing. He did great. I was super nervous but he was really helpful in calming me down. It didnt even hurt. They were so much professional than the other place I went to a few months back. The only issue was that they gave ne and outdated version of cleaning my piercing but that was it. I have been recommending that all my friends go there

Matt did my nipple piercing and it was a 13/10 experience. It was my first ever piercing and i was hella nervous but it was the easiest thing ever—u can just tell hes top tier at this stuff. It only hurt for a split second and completely worth it since looks amazing. Pricing was real reasonable too, definitely gonna have to come back

I didn’t originally plan on coming here but the piercer I planned on going to didn’t have nipple jewelry so she recommended the person who pierced her. I was pierced by Matt and he did an amazing job. I was weary about having a male piercer but he was very professional. I was very comfortable and he kept a conversation so it wouldn’t get weird. He also allowed my boyfriend to hold my hand during the piercing. I definitely recommend him for nipple piercings. Will be coming back for more piercings.

So far, Ive gotten three piercings here. Both my nostrils and my tongue. My tongue is still in the healing process, but my nostrils are amazing and healed really well. Matt is an amazing piercer and makes you feel super comfortable when hes working with you. My nose is crooked due to a deviated septum, and he took time to properly align the piercings, etc., to make them the most visually appealing. The same happened with my tongue, as I have a long web underneath, which he worked around super well. Will definitely be going back.

I got my tattoo done here. My sons ashes are in the ink and Im so glad they were able to do that for me and my husband. It looks great and I am so happy knowing hes always with me.They do great work. Took my extremely nervous 14yo to get her ears pierced. She had a previous bad experience. Matt was amazing! He talked her through the whole thing and took the time to make her feel comfortable, even though he had a packed waiting area and schedule. Very professional.

Attempted to do a walk in for a piercing but they were booked. It was on me for the risk of a walk in. I attempted to call and book an appointment before going but no one answered so I went anyway to try. This was right before school went back after the holidays so its understandable. The place was great though and the employees were very kind and respectable.

Matt did a tongue piercing for me and did an absolutely amazing job! He was professional and explained after care very well. In the future if I get anymore piercings, I will definitely be going to him! :)

Matt is professional, I will give him that. I went in with my sister to get belly button piercings done while I was in town for spring break. Every body piercing I have has been done at a shop in SC that is EXCELLENT. The problem is with the crappy jewelry they use at Cardinal. When we went, they were all out of internally threaded jewelry, which should have been a pretty big red flag anyway. The piercing itself was fine as he made sure it was symmetrical, but he did use clamps. If you can help it, call around and find out if the place uses clamps before you go. They can cause a lot more pain and complications than necessary. I got pierced back in March, and have had on and off again irritation and infection in this piercing non stop. Yesterday, went to the place I usually go to in SC for a jewelry change and the external threads tore me up, pus and blood everywhere despite cleaning twice a day with saline. Day two with new jewelry, surgical grade titanium, and my piercing looks and feels so much better. If you can help it, just go to a place that has high quality and a better selection of jewelry. Dont be like me.

I had an appointment for a bridge piercing. They were running about 45 minutes behind, however, the quality I got was worth waiting that long. Matt really knows what he’s doing. He brought up the fact that you pierce a bridge with a 14g straight barbell and a lot of people would say 16g with a curved barbell. He was correct and if he would have pierced me with a curved 16g, I would have asked for a 14g straight.I have 10 facial piercings now and we were talking ‘piercing talk’. He’s super fun and bubbly, while also remaining professional. I actually have another appointment April 16 for a set of piercings and I hope he’s the one who pierces me. I’ve been to Grade A in Glenbrooke and to the one on Clinton. I’ve also been to Wildman’s (do not recommend) and the service I got at Cardinal was the best experience I have ever had up north.If you’re ever looking to get pierced in Fort Wayne, please go to Cardinal and ask for Matt.

The places is very clean, and prices are not bad for the level of talent around this business. Theres only 5 stars but Id give another if I could.

Went in to get a conch piercing. Process went well, but I don’t think they quite know what they’re doing. Aftercare instructions seemed a little weird as I was told to only clean once a week. A hoop was put in my ear after the piercing, but it quickly got irritated and I started questioning an infection. I have always heard it’s best to start with a stud and then work your way up to a hoop. So, after trying to endure the pain I finally couldn’t take it anymore and took the hoop out. I cleaned my piercing and didn’t want to abandon it, so I put a stud in afterwards. Within the hour the swelling had almost completely disappeared and pain was minimal. They are supposed to be the professionals and know this stuff.

Went here for piercings with my friend. Matt is beyond professional and makes you feel very comfortable. Highly recommend. Best piercer in town. Thank you!

Absolutely excellent piercer. He is the most professional piercer that Ive ever been to. He is exclusively a piercer so he knows and shares everything you need to know about the piercing hes about to give you. Saved me from a good idea turned very painful experience, instead I had a great time and will be going back when these heal for the last one.

If youre ever wondering where to get a tattoo, I would recommend cardinal 100 times over. In my opinion the best shop in the area. It has amazing artists who are comfortable to be around as well as an awesome piercer who makes the whole process quick, easy, and comfortable.

I have worked with a lot of tattoo artist in fort wayne and I ended up with him as my last tattoo artist! I think he is the best, nicest and most respected tattoo artist in fort wayne! I had him go over all of my work and then some of his own work! I cant wait to get some more work done from him! Matt Keith also works there! He is an awesome piercer! He has done my eye brows and in two weeks from now, he is going to pierce my eye brow for a third time and a micro dermal piercing aka surface anchor!!! Keep up the good work Cardinal!
