I found Allegoric Art while visiting Golden. I live in Denver and the commute is a walk in the park. I have been in the shop multiple times to complete a sleeve on my right arm. Jonny Mustache was my artist for the past few months. He takes the time to understand and work with you on the concept. It is always rewarding when you find someone you can trust with any tattoo ideas. I forget how much tattoos hurt, but when you can sit down and talk to your artist about anything, pain is not even in your mind anymore. Prices are very reasonable and service is awesome. Everyone in the shop is very welcoming. You can tell the level of professionalism when artists support each other. I am very happy with my tattoos. I receive a lot of compliments all the time.

Excellent people, friendly, helpful and very talented!! My wife and I went for a couple spontaneous pieces and were very satisfied with the skill and service they provided! Nick and Josh are the two artist who worked with us and we couldn’t be more happy with the result!! Very quick, and precise line work! Would 110% recommend to anyone looking for a great tattoo parlor!!

I highly recommend Allegoric Art! At their shop I feel welcomed and safe. The artists are talented and professional. I went to their Foss building location for a new tattoo last year and then came back again this year to cover up an old tattoo.The new tattoo is so much better than what I originally envisioned. The cover-up tattoo is genius. Nick Puma managed to completely transform and conceal my old tattoo, making it look like it was never there. The attention to detail and the creativity in the design are incredible. Words cannot express how delighted I am with the artwork.The shop is meticulous about hygiene and safety. I completely understand why they’ve won the Best of Golden award in the tattoo shop category.

Hands-down the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had. Got a piece done by Josh who worked with me every step of the way to ensure I got exactly what I wanted. Ended up with some quality art at an amazing price. I’ll definitely be back!

I have gotten more than 10 tattoos from Jonny at this shop and he is amazing! He has awesome flash but I also have some really great custom pieces from him as well. Everyone at the shop is super kind and helpful. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking to get tattooed in Golden or Denver!

I’ve worked with Nick for 7 years now and he’s done 95% of my tattoos since. He’s absolutely gifted at what he does. No matter what wild idea, style or theme I throw at him, he nails it everytime! Also, the shop is comfortable, clean and professional.

I have been going to get my tattoos done here for over a year now, and I have only had overwhelmingly positive experiences. The artists are talented, kind, and welcoming. I highly recommend this shop for anyone who is new to the tattoo scene, and may be intimidated by an average shop. They will help you feel welcome and comfortable, while providing professional and quality art. I have gotten both flash, and designed work done here, and they have even done free touch ups.

Jonny and Nick are some of the best out there! Such welcoming vibes from them all around. Nick is amazing at everything he touches his hand to and you can always bribe Jonny with some breakfast burritos, either for a tattoo or friendship! Love all the guys here! You can’t go wrong even if you went in for one of the other artists! Incredible work!

Such a good group of guys, they made me feel welcomed and comfortable every single time I’ve visited. I got a few tattoos from Jonny who is fair with pricing and a talented artist, I 100% recommend to anyone to visit this shop. It’s nestled right in between all the local stores in Golden on Washington Ave, it is very clean and cute.

I couldnt recommend this place more. Ive been getting tattooed at Allegoric Art for years and Im still in love with every piece! (I have a sleeve plus at least 7 other pieces from the years with this shop). The space is always welcoming and the artists are wonderful. I feel like theres a comfortable, open communication between me and my primary artist (Nick) —and each time I walk away happy with a piece of incredible art that Im proud to have made a part of me.

This is the place to go. You have an idea? Its on paper and better than expected. You want something done well? Ive never had a tattoo come out better. You want it to heal well? Nick was incredible! He was kind, attentive, and quick. He took me in as a walk in on a Saturday right about an hour before they closed. He drew up the design and got it all done. He was very professional and I’ll be back! The shop was also super clean!

My grandma and I worked with Nick to get matching butterfly tattoos. He was very helpful and pleasant to work with throughout the entire process, and he did a wonderful job on our tattoos. Nick and the other artist there made us feel very welcome and comfortable during our appointment. I would definitely recommend them!

I’ve gotten 3 tattoos from Ben and one from Johnny. I love all of them they do such a good job. Ben is very welcoming and makes me very comfortable. I plan on getting many tattoos from him in the future! The gumball machine is also really fun and I enjoyed getting a tattoo from it! (The pink flail)

I’ve been a repeat customer for years. The staff are professional and polite, the shop is clean, and the art is top tier! They are reasonably priced, and very accommodating. In addition to their tattoo art they have great pieces in other mediums that you should check out. They’re award winning, and I highly suggest them.

After moving here from Minnesota a few years back, I bounced back and forth from shop to shop trying to find an artist that would work with my ideas and communicate their opinion in a collaborative way, and I finally found that at Allegoric Art, specifically with Jonny. Whether you are looking to schedule an appointment or simply wanting to scratch that impulsive walk-in tattoo itch, look no further. Nick and Jonny are great dudes who truly put 100% into their work and the results speak for themselves. Unless I move someplace else, I’m a loyal customer and you could be too 😉

Terrible service at the door, was treated like I don’t know what I was talking about. I have 20+ tattoos that feature excellent work. I was told that small filler work on my sleeve would cost $220. After disagreeing on the price I was asked to say what I paid for each of my tattoos that I already have. (Disrespectful) Went down the street to faith tattoo and they quoted me $120 got the work done and could not be happier. Found out that Allegoric Art is known for price gouging from other locals. Don’t fall for this tourist trap facility. Faith Tattoo will provide you with the experience you want.

Been tattooed here multiple times and always a fantastic experience! Jonny makes you feel very comfortable and does an outstanding job. Clean shop, good vibes, and reasonably priced!

I’ve gotten several tattoos at Allegoric Art now and I love them all! Some have been my own ideas (which once Jonny drew up were even better than I imagined) and some of their flash pieces (they have sooo many amazing designs to choose from)! The whole team at Allegoric has always been super welcoming and helpful. Very clean shop and their pricing is incredibly fair! Looking forward to more tattoos from Jonny in the future!

Ive gotten 5 tattoos done by Nick now, including two at this studio. Starting with the designs, Nick does a great job incorporating your thoughts and asks and transforming it into art, leaving you with a unique and amazing piece. Putting ink to skin, Nick is great at what he does and the tattoos come out exactly, if not better, than the stencil. From there, the tattoos heal and continue to look better and better.If the tattoos arent great enough, this tattoo shop is worth the visit alone. Located in the heart of Golden, the shop is such a unique and cool place.

Ive gone to Nick for a few years now, and Ive recommended multiple friends to see him. He always is super clean, kind, and I am always super happy with how my tattoos come out. He is talented in his ability to do so many styles of work. I get loads of compliments on his work.

I do not have enough good things to say about Ben, him and Nick run a super clean shop and are some of the nicest guys out there. Ben has never disappointed me in the 4 tattoos hes given me, great price, phenomenal work and some lovely folks.

I love this place, just had my third tattoo from Nick and would not go anywhere else for my fourth! Nick is consultative and creative and does amazing work! My daughter introduced us and now Nick actually just inked up my wife…. It’s a family shop now!

My friend and I stopped in while we were in town. We had our designs picked out. Our artist, Johnny, not only took our designs and adapted them to preserve the original artist’s integrity, but he added some things to really capture each of our visions for our own tattoos. He created absolutely incredible art. I can’t recommend this studio add Johnny strongly enough.

First time getting tattooed at this shop, and it was great! Nick is a very talented and experienced artist; the tattoo process was fast and the work neat. The shop of very clean, and everyone there is super nice. Will definitely be coming back! Thanks!

Nick does awesome work and ill keep coming back to have him keep working on this soon to be sleeve!Came with a very simple concept of a certain flower and bird skull and it turned it into this!! Love it! Nick is a really passionate artist and i am definitely returning to add more pieces in the future!

Much like other reviews… we were wandering around downtown, kinda bummed we’d wanted a tattoo all weekend for a birthday celebration and the other studio nearby was not friendly or helpful. Stumbled across this place— super friendly, accommodating, made us feel welcome and fit us right into their schedule. Johnny and Nic took care of us, and we were super impressed with the work and fair pricing! Highly recommend… probably the most fun traveling souvenir to date. Thanks guys! 🫶🏻

I was wanting a tattoo while visiting and happened to walk by while wandering around downtown Golden. Saw that they had good reviews so decided to give it a go. Johnny was super helpful and did a great job on my tattoo. The facility was very clean and it was overall a great experience.

Ben has been tattooing me for over 4 years. He is an amazing artist to work with. His willingness and patience to collaborate on pieces is one of the many reasons why I get tattooed by him and his technical application is flawless. Ben has completed 2 traditional sleeves and a right leg piece that are amazing and I always look forward to seeing him. The shop is clean, professional and provides a chill atmosphere.

I have been going to Nick Puma for tattoos for over 2 years now and I am consistently amazed by his artwork and the finished product. He takes the ideas I have for my tattoos and brings them to life in a way I could never imagine. I have gone to him for at least 16 tattoos and they are all stunning, unique and exceed my expectations. Nick is a gifted artist and very professional and personable. I always feel comfortable, wherever on my body he is tattooing. {he has done tattoos on my arms- upper and lower, legs- upper and lower, ribs/side and chest} My tattoos always heal beautifully. I get compliments every day. I have attached my latest work of art. Healed, it is as vibrant and detailed as the photo. I cannot recommend Nick high enough!

I booked appointments with Ben a few months ago for myself and 9 of my family members visiting Denver for a girls’ trip. The trip was this past weekend and we all could not be happier with our tattoos!! Each of ours is slightly different, each sort of evolved from the others, and they’re all perfect. Ben was so flexible and accommodating with all of us and did such a great job with several first timers and a couple who hadn’t gotten tattooed in decades. Our group ranged in age from 20 to 70 and we all love this special memory we made with Ben’s help. This was my 7th tattoo and it’s easily my favorite. I also have never felt compelled to go back to a tattoo artist a second time but I will definitely be back to see Ben again in the future.

My husband and I are both very pleased with the work that Nick has done for us. My husband has a more traditional style tattoo sleeve while he gave me a watercolor design. Mine as well as my husbands multiple tattoos are immaculate. The attention to detail is marvelous. I cannot recommend Nick enough. He is amazing!!!

This is a great shop with a relaxed vibe and a cool location in an upstairs space above downtown Golden. Nick is down to earth and friendly.
