OVERPRICED jewelry. Got my bellybutton pierced. Charging 25 for one piece of jewelry. Go on amazon and get a 15 pack for $9. Same quality, same colors, same everything. Piercing was done well but ONLY buy ONE piece of jewelry there.

I only get my tattoos done at the painted lady. The atmosphere and sense of professionalism while still making the customer feel comfortable and almost at a second home. I love this place and the tattoo artist Matt is insanely good at his job and even if you aren’t getting tattooed I’ve never walked into the painted lady and have been upset

Got a septum here not long ago, Sera did it, and she was FANTASTIC!! Super chatty and distracted me from the whole piercing I barely felt it. Shes super talented and you can tell shes a professional in this kind of thing. I love the fact theres a CVS right across the street, which makes for easy access! 10/10 Ill definitely be coming back here for another piercing :)

I’ve been pierced at almost every piercing studio in Harrisonburg, and Painted Lady is the only on I’ll go to now. Every piercing I’ve gotten here has healed beautifully, their prices are very reasonable, and they have some of the coolest employees. They work hard to hire and keep talented artists, and it really shows. The piercer, Sera, takes her job really seriously and it’s obvious how much she cares about the quality of her work and the comfort of her clients. She’s a really cool person to talk to, too. Seriously, don’t go anywhere else if you can go to Painted Lady!

There is NO ONE I want touching me ever again! 🤯 I dont think you understand without the full story! Initially to start my sleeve I went elsewhere- BIG MISTAKE! A VERY sentimental sleeve that tells the story of my life, I sought. I came to Matt mid tattoo (elsewhere) completely BROKEN with still puffy eyes from crying. He surveyed the damage and assuresd me everything would be okay BUT he would not touch me UNTIL I HEALED! (Low key, I was pissed but I understood nd paid the deposit) I immediately felt at ease because my money wasnt his #1 goal, my well-being was! 🫶 .We had our first session today 1/30/2024 and he was so gentle and personable.⭐️ My arm looks amazing and I see the vision because of Matt! I signed up and put a deposit on our next session! 2/23/2024 He is doing my whole arm! 🤩 GO HERE! He cares about you! He cares about you being happy with what you wear on your body for the rest of your life, he gets YOU, affordable, and simply put, Amazing! Thats whats up! 💯 #HeCares

As my tattoo heals, the line work is uneven, messy, and I have pretty bad tattoo blowout. The artist made comments that she couldn’t see and instead of adjusting she continued working. She used a micro needle that most likely she wasn’t well versed in based on the results. EDIT: since the artist has responded quite rudely to my original post, I have attached an image of the tattoo completely “healed,” although the tattoo severely scarred.

I came here twice for cartilage piercings, the first time I had to come back twice because Sara was gone both times to “ check on her dogs” for 2 hours. The actual piercing took forever and the earring I was given was horrible quality. Then about 8 months later I had a second appointment rescheduled since she wasn’t there when I arrived at the scheduled time. I came back the next day (as I was told to) and after standing, freezing outside the locked door a guy came out to tell us they were closing early.

I went to get my nose pierced, and the lady was nice, but kinda of passive aggressive. She did not let me check the marking before piercing it, and when i tried to tell her i was nervous and needed a second to breath she said no, lets just do it and continued to pierce me before letting me take a moment. she just seemed rushed even though there wasnt any wait. also, she sped through the aftercare directions so i missed a lot of the info because she was speaking so fast and when i asked for clarification she gave attitude. tbh, dont really recommend her.but- it does look good

Went to Margaret for a tattoo. She Is so nice and professional. She gives good and honest feedback and is professional and polite about it. It is a safe space and comfortable with her and conversation is easy. I cant wait to book with her again!

Sera is the absolute kindest soul. Makes you feel extremely comfortable and safe. Everything is well cleaned and such a vibe. If you are wanting piercings I highly recommend this place.

The people at the front desk were really nice and professional, and I was enjoying my time there. However, when I got to the actual piercer it was a little different. She was knowledgeable and did a good piercing, but I wasn’t necessarily happy with how she condescendingly talked to me, talked down about the piercers who have done my previous piercings, and slammed the door when I was interacting with the people from the front. I don’t hate my piercing, but seriously if you’re looking for a friendly interaction—you’re not gonna find it here.

I have six tattoos so far, and I’ve had the pleasure of having Margaret do five of them. I’ve been coming to her for seven years and all the work she has done has always been fantastic. She has always jumped in with ideas and I believe she loves the process of creating the tattoo beforehand just as much as the actual tattooing itself. She is nice, respectful and beyond professional. If you’re getting artwork done by Margaret, then you’re a lucky person!

I have been going to Painted Lady for years. Eric the owner is such a great guy and he runs an extremely clean business. I haven’t gotten a tattoo there yet, but everyone I know talks very highly of the tattoo artists. I have known Sera all my life and she is an AMAZING piercer, she’s friendly, fun to be around and knows her stuff. I can’t praise all the employees enough. Jacob at the front desk is a great guy too, all of the staff know what they’re doing, which makes them the only piercing studio I will ever go to. Definitely check them out, you won’t regret it.

Margaret is an amazing artist. She did an amazing cover up for me that you cant tell is a cover up, and it was a large tattoo. She also has done both arm sleeves and leg sleeve on my spouse that are so beautiful I cant stop looking at them and touching them ;-)

I got my septum done by Sera here on my birthday in October !! She was so sweet and talked me through everything, we even talked about our similar interests !! As you can see it healed nicely and i’m for sure going back soon for my snakebites. :)

I went in with my friend today to get my daith pierced. I was about to make an appointment when my friend asked if she could also get her earrings changed. After reading these reviews, I figured out that the woman who spoke to us was named Sera. She basically started attacking my friend, speaking in such a condescending and rude way. We were being polite and quiet so I’m not sure why she was behaving that way. She accused my friend of being lazy and careless. Multiple piercers told my friend that she is allergic to a metal but Sera insists it’s just that my friend is lazy about cleaning/touching her earring (which she is not). The man at the desk was very nice but we are never going back there. We are very nice girls so we were very taken aback. You guys should tell Sera to fix her behavior if you value your customers.

Sera, the piercer at Painted Lady, in my opinion is great. She is gentle and quick with the needle and applying the jewelry. She is knowledgeable and thoroughly explains the after care instructions. Sera has a lot of character and talks a lot during the piercing process. However, she can be condescending at times. Based on my many experiences with her, she can have good days or bad days. God bless you if you catch her on a bad day - her attitude is quite arrogant and impatient. I have gotten three piercings at painted lady and two at alley cat. I didn’t love alley cats job. I really do prefer Sera at painted lady!! She just always does what I want and I trust her with my piercings; Despite the rude way she can treat people. I guess it’s the price to pay?

I went to do my nose piercing and Sera is AWESOME! Very professional, very funny and FAST! I didn’t even realized when she was done. My nose piercing is healing without any issues at all and I know for sure 90% is because she did a clean, quick and very professional job. The guy who works at the lobby area is very professional and very kind. I’ve thinking to have a tattoo and I’m definitely going back there! 👍🏼

Awesome!!! I got my first professional tattoo almost 20 yers ago here and they was awesome then also! They take PRIDE in their work and it shows. All the staff are so nice, polite, and respectful. Just a few weeks ago I took my 17 year old daughter there to get her belly button pierced and I couldn’t ask for a better experience as a customer or parent!!!With all that said if you are wanting an awesome unique tattoo or a piercing go to PAINTED LADY!!!!! If you go anywhere else you just paying probably more money for a crappier experience and quality!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THANK YOU PAINTED LADY!!!! Be seeing you soon time for new tattoo!

I had a fantastic experience getting a piercing done, Sera was phenomenal and absolutely hilarious! She was thorough in cleaning all her equipment and the piercing sites, and was extremely detailed with the aftercare instructions. Im definitely recommending PL to my friends, and am already planning to go back for more piercings.

I went to Sera yesterday for a septum piercing. She is absolutely wonderful. I highly recommend going to her, because shes not only knowledgeable, but very down to earth.

Front desk guy was very helpful. Dont know his name but had a beard black hair and glasses.Sers did my piercing. Very safe clean fun and knowledgeable . Defiantly going back for more piercings and for a long overdue tat. Went last Friday and no wait. Thanks guys

I got my nose pierced by Sera. It was very quick and professional. About a week later, the stud fell out and wouldn’t go back in. When I went back, she refused to put it back in, explaining that the hole had begun to close, and she couldnt legally reinsert the piercing. This made sense, and while I was disappointed, I understood the reason. However, she handled the situation in the most unprofessional way possible. She was extremely rude, even rolling her eyes at one of my questions. As I was leaving, I witnessed her making fun of my situation with another customer.Bottom line, if you are looking for a place that gives high quality piercings, this place is as good as any. But if you are also looking for a place where the staff treats the paying customer with the respect, kindness, and decency they deserve, go to Dreamland. They are kind to customers, something I believe is as equally important as the quality of the piercing.

Called to ask about a piercing and asked if they pierced with receiving tubes or clamps because I won’t allow anyone who uses clamps to pierce me, and the woman in the background was rudely saying she’s “not teaching someone how to pierce over the phone” when I asked a very specific question, which they should be more than willing to answer. Then she said she uses clamps because it’s “the only way” when any experienced piercer is at least aware that receiving tubes exist even if they don’t know how to use them. Definitely unprofessional and doesn’t seem very knowledgeable.

Went to get a piercing for my birthday, (I got 2 lobes and my tragus, and my mom got a third lobe) and the place was clean and professional, and the cost may seem expensive but it covers jewelry cost and all. The experience was great and Sera was awesome and made you laugh, she just wasnt at the shop at the time I had scheduled the piercing, whether that is or isnt her fault Im unsure, but thats the only reason why its not 5 stars. Great place compared to Alley cat!

Sera did my daughters nose piercing. She was wonderful. My daughter is healing up wonderful. She gave instructions, we listened and things are great. This place is clean and great!!!!

Such a nice place. And willing to work with you on days. Not afraid of complex jobs and are willing to work long term with individuals on larger tattoos. They also have no problem doing a quick little tattoo either. Would recommend 100%

Came in about a month ago wanting my nose pierced and an estimate for a tattoo. They were able to get me in that same day for the piercing and let me know exactly how much the tattoo would cost. When I came back to get the tattoo the following week the man that did my tattoo (don’t know his name) talked with me throughout the entire thing making sure I was comfortable. I would definitely recommend

Im not sure why so many on here are bashing Sera, but I got two piercings done by her just yesterday and she was so funny and cool to talk to. She made me feel super comfortable and the piercings themselves were super quick and easy, this is easily my favorite shop

If I could give this establishment less than one star I would. The staff is unprofessional and act like they are better than their paying customers. On top of that, the lady that pierces there has no idea what shes doing, even for being there 11 years. She pierced a belly button like a surface piercing, not anywhere near where it was supposed to be, and it had to be taken out. The jewelry is not anything special like they say, its just like any other piercing shop. I will not be taking any more if my business there and will advise everyone I know to stay far away from this place.

I have to say, I was extremely satisfied with my experience at Painted Lady. I had my septum pierced there back in January and they were incredibly thorough. The piercer, Sera, truly does her best to eliminate discomfort and make the whole process run smoothly. She provided and care information I needed to know and answered all my questions. They are the best in Harrisonburg. I would definitely go back:)

Whoever the piercer was, she is very rude. Me and my mom came in looking for jewelry andshe wouldn’t even let us come in and pay for something. She legit just said no and walked away. She also said my lip looked swollen when literally my lips are naturally full, unlike her thine pencil lips. Never coming there again.Edit: I just found out the piercers name is Sera and lots of other people think she’s rude too. Glad I’m not the only one.

I came here with my friend both wanting to get piercings. We went through the process of papers and paying. Then the lady who was supposed to Pierce us ran out of the shop and said Im leaving and probably not coming back. So we got a refund which the lady working was sweet about which is why I gave a 2 star. It was a train wreck and unprofessional, will not go back.

I was really excited about getting my cartilage pierced and decided to come to painted lady to have it done. Everything was fine at first until we got into the piercing room. Sera began to cuss every other word to the point it was extremely unprofessional and she also bashed multiple other shops and places to get piercings, even saying that getting them in the mall would be a risk of catching an STD from a college girl since they apparently don’t clean their guns. It was ridiculous to hear her talk this way and was far too much. When it came to the actual piercing everything was fine and I was excited. Throughout the healing process, I noticed my hoop getting caught on everything. I was more than ready to take it out and waited over 3 months before going back. The day I returned was the same day I had an MRI and had to take my piercing out. The hoop got stuck in my ear and ripped a little causing it to bleed. After the MRI, I headed straight to the shop. I had them call sera down so I could talk to her. I explained the situation and she was very rude about it and not willing to listen to me say what happened, even telling me that I should have put it straight back in instead of waiting even though it had only been 10 minutes since I left the hospital. She refused to touch the piercing saying she didn’t want to mess it up since it bled, which I understood. I asked if I could purchase another earring and she refused to sell me it saying she didn’t condone me putting an earring in the piercing. She just kept repeating she wanted me to come back and get it redone even though I knew the piercing wasn’t closed that quick or scabbed over and I didn’t want to spend another $35 to get it poked back through when it was still open. She was rude about the whole situation. I left disappointed and not sure what to do. I went back to the shop because sera said with any problems it would be the safest place for me to come and her to help me, and when it came to that time she wasn’t willing to help in the slightest. I ended up at the mall at Icing who provided me with stuff to clean it and the earring went right back in. When trying to get another earring in, I relized my piercing was done at such a strange angle that I had to have someone else help me put it in. I’ve had no problems since then, but I felt if I went to the shop they should be trying to help me and not send me out confused and to do it on my own. This place is extremely unprofessional, unhelpful, and rude. I will never return here for another piercing and I wouldn’t advise anyone else to either.

Sera was my piercer and she is a living wikipedia of knowledge pertaining to many subjects involving piercing and quality products pertaining to piercing, also very friendly and positive with a cheerful disposition, im %100 sure that she can do it all for her customers!!! Clean place, all staff was friendly and informative, prices were very reasonable and everyone has the kind of experience to ease any anxiety or fears a customer may have! Bravo Painted Lady!!!

My daughter finally was able to come visit me here from Dallas. We have a tradition of getting a piercing at every visit. I tried calling this place multiple times. I Was told we could not get on the piercing schedule for Tuesday unless I called back on Tuesday at 1220. When I did call back right at opening, I was told the schedule was full but I could have been put on it the day I originally called. Except the person they had working did not know her job. I was told by the guy that answered the phone, that she didn’t know what she was doing. I explained that wasn’t my fault. It’s bad customer service. I wait because I was told we could get in on Tuesday afternoon. Now my daughter is having to fly back and we can’t find another place cause they are booked up. If I would have known they hire incompetent people I would not have waited. I could have scheduled somewhere else. I will not go back here.

Margaret was awesome to talk to but the tattoo I got done was horrible. When doing the tattoo i noticed she missed some things and got her to go over them. The next day when i took my bandage off it looked absolutely horrible. The line work is crooked and not clean and there are many parts that arent connected and there are so many flaws in this! The picture i gave to her to do this tattoo had shading and texture the end result was nothing but the outline and it was crooked at that. She dug very deep across my scar tissue and it scabbed up and isnt black but mottled looking grey. I took care of the tattoo as you are suppose to because i have many tattoos. This was the first time going to her and i will not be going back. Like i said she was a wonderful person and i enjoyed talking to her but the end result for spending 150 on this mediocre tattoo is very dissapointing.

I got my nose pierced here, and the woman who did it made the whole process so smooth and easy. She was super friendly and informative and knew what she was doing. The place was clean and well-organized.

I’ve asked a few times about dermal piercings, I always got the response “we’re not doing them right now due to Covid because the piercing is under the mask” without even asking me if that’s where I wanted it, so I corrected the guy told him that’s not where I want it I want it else where on my body and I’m still told “we’re still not doing them because of Covid”Y’all don’t need to be open at all if that’s the case. if y’all can do piercings near the face with a face mask on but not elsewhere on the body or aren’t comfortable with doing surface piercings then just say “we don’t do them” in general.It’s not good clientele or professional. I preferred this place before anywhere else but after that unlogical response I’ll travel somewhere else now.

Did not actually go there just called them to ask a question and got my answer just wasnt very polite so yeah . There is a thing called professionalism they didnt have it.

Took my daughter today to get and ear piercing for her headaches. Well the girl drop the small ball down in her ear couldn’t get it out emergency room can’t get it out so now she has to go to a ear specialist to try and get it because now it’s laying on her eardrum Not very happy at all.

Made an appointment over the phone to get my nose and ear pierced. I got there at the time of my appointment and they told me that they’re not doing nose piercings and not helping anyone without a mask. Would have been nice to know over the phone when I made the appointment and before I drove 25 minutes to get there.

Sera did a beautiful job in my Cartilage (helix) piercing. Talked me through the whole process, we were in and out in 10 minutes tops. Highly recommend.

I love Margret she does a great job and is an amazing women to converse with! I have at least 30 hours of ink and she is my favorite artist by far.

I took my daughter in here to get her lip pierced and then my daughter ended up wanting a new ring for her lip so we went back in another day turned out that the piercing person wasn’t there that day they were off and the guy that was there didn’t know the prices of the jewelry said to come back the next day that the person would be there came back the next day with the same story different day and I had also planned on getting a piercing myself but if they can’t ever have a person there then they lost my business

I got my Industrial hoops put in and I waited for the months to pass by so I can get the Industrial bar. When I went there Sera was very unprofessional and very rude to me, because the hoops still havent healed yet. I will be going back to get the bar put in because I already paid for that. Then after that I wont be. I am only going to Margaret

I’ve been coming here since I was of age to get my own body modifications! I absolutely love it here and it’s the only place o go for tattoos or piercings. Everyone is so sweet and they’ll make you laugh through the pain. I love it there
