We had a previously bad experience this day at a different piercing shop in town, in which they were extremely unprofessional and rude. We did not end up going there, and called in to see if Onyx could fit us in that day. They had a place for us, and even being on the phone it was immediately clear how much better this shop was. Everyone was friendly and piercing went smoothly and quickly. Such a professional shop. Would definitely come back!

I went here last October to get my nostril pierced. I had a great experience. Even starting with my phone conversation they were so helpful and professional. When I finally came in person, I found the shop was clean and organized, I was greeted and helped right away. Mia helped me out and explained everything on the piercing form and made sure I was comfortable with the process. I was not pressured or hurried along to make a decision as I was looking at the jewelry case, even though it took me a while to make a choice. Everything was documented for me, the style and size of the jewelry, the placement, care instructions. Very professional.When it came time for the actual piercing, I was for some reason surprised with the care and professionalism that entailed. It was awesome. Mia was so meticulous and careful with the placement, allowed me to verify for myself if I liked it in a mirror. Sanitation was of upmost importance, and she even put a piece of surgical paper on my face for good measure. I was very satisfied with how it turned out, and the process to get there. The jewelry is worth the higher cost, as they know what they are doing and I have had zero issues with pain, irritation, allergic reaction, or anything like that. In fact, due to the awesome job Mia did, I have had no issues, pain, swelling, keloids etc. Nothing.I returned a couple months later to get a shorter stud put in, Matt helped me out and I had the same awesome experience.I plan to return again to get the stud swapped for a gold ring when it becomes time. My sister is looking to get double lobe piercings and I recommended her to come here for that.

I’ve gotten pierced here twice, and gone with a friend once. they are super helpful, the shop is clean but not intimidating. they did my nostril and my septum, both well done with no issues, healed beautifully, and have both to this day. my friend loves his septum. they will show you the sterilization process, help you choose jewelry, and are overall very professional while being incredibly kind. and if you’re lucky, you get free stickers! great to have such an incredible shop in lincoln.

Ive been to Matt and Mark at Onyx many times and always have an amazing experience, whether its getting a new piercing or just swapping jewelry. Theyre APP certified, honest about if you have the anatomy for a certain piercing, and super professional. Theyre the only place Ill go in Lincoln.

I came here twice, and I really love the place. I thought of no other place of getting my tattoo. Andrew was perfect with my tattoo pretty chill and nice guy too I’ll have him do my tattoos for now on!

I had a very good experience at Onyx. I was very nervous going in but I left happy and calm. I didn’t catch my piercers name but she was very calm and professional, and didn’t seem bothered at all by my nerves. I brought a friend who had her piercing done at a different piercing location and she said mine was done much more professionally as well. Overall the environment and experience was pleasant and I will be returning!

Mia was great with piercing our 12 year old daughters ears. She explained what she was doing as she was going through the process. The place was very clean and they were friendly. We will be going back soon to get a second piercing on her lobes done. Highly recommend!

Matt performed my ear lobe piercings. I was nervous because it was my first time, but they were very patient and professional with my questions. They told me everything that I needed to know about piercing aftercare. The procedure was sanitary, quick, and mostly painless! I would definitely comeback here if I want to do anymore piercings!

Got my nosed pierced a few weeks ago.I have been going to Mark and Matt for the past 10 years for piercings and won’t go anywhere else!I recommend this to all my family and friends if they want piercings. They always sanitize their equipment and show the sanitAtion strips. My piercings have always healed well.They use top of the line jewelry that is great for my sensitive skin!

My original daith ear piercing fell out. I was nervous that a piece of it was caught in my ear. That company would not work me in even though I called in advance. Mia at Onyx took me right in. Looking at the earrings, most were quite expensive for me right now. She pulled out some cheaper models and got me in and out quickly. Very pleased with everything!

I went to another professional between my first and 3 and I will never go to another professional besides Matt ever again. He is extremely knowledgeable and great about teaching his clients. I have had 8 of my 16 piercings done here and each experience has been great from start to finish. Ive been pierced by both Matt and Mark. It is evident they both care a lot about their work and the profession. Studio is super clean. They have a pretty nice jewelry selection from titanium (they will anodize in-house) to solid gold and gemstones, too.

I had a great experience getting my nose pierced. The proprietor is incredibly knowledgeable about the procedure and safety. I will be bringing my children here in the future.

This was the first time getting pierced at a professional shop, and honestly I was a little nervous coming in, but they made the process super relaxing. I got my septum done (for reference, it costed me $100), and the guy who did it completely talked me through the whole process and made sure I knew what was going on. He answered all my questions and sent me home with instructions that included aftercare and healing times. Everyone there was really professional but humorous at the same time, and it made the experience 10x better. Most importantly, everything was very organized and sanitary. (they also play good music lol) I walked out with a great experience and a sick piercing, I definitely would recommend!

I went in to get my tragus done, and it was a great experience! Matt explained how to take care of it, walked through everything he was doing and why, and had me make sure the placement was correct, and the piercing turned out really well. The environment was super clean and friendly, they had a really good selection of jewelry, and the piercers know what theyre doing. Ill definitely be back for my next piercings!

I had my ears pierced for about a year now, and still several are in the process of healing. Fast forward to today, and my right ear conch is super swollen. I accidentally slept on it but it’s never been this bad before. I did a last minute walk in before closing and the staff were so kind and understanding. It only took 5 minutes and I immediately felt relief from the pressure. I’m so grateful! Thank you so much! I guess certain piercings aren’t meant for everyone and I think that’s okay!

A friend of mine goes here quite often for things, both piercings and tattoos and she absolutely loves it here, fantastic quality work and theyre super friendly! Also if you have ANY complications with anything or questions about healing etc theyre more than happy to answer any questions you have. Absolutely recommend.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I got 3 piercings today, tragus, navel and nostril. My piercer was amazing, he was very quick and efficient. He talked me through the whole process and made sure I liked my placements before he pierced me. Definitely would trust them to come back for more piercings.

I was suuuuper nervous getting my first facial piercing here, but the staff and professionalism of this place is completely unmatched! I had Matt, and he immediately could tell I was nervous, so he cracked a few jokes to calm me down. Instead of letting me just sit there and get worried, he did the piercing quickly and virtually painlessly. I got my septum pierced here, and the jewelry and piercing look awesome! He gave clear instructions on how to clean and how often I should clean it, which was awesome! The jewelry was very clean before it went into my face, and they do a great job cleaning your nose before the procedure as well. 10/10 stars from me!(Also they gave me some stickers and a t shirt which was super awesome!!)

Stopped in today so Mark could put the ear piercing back in my wifes ear Cartilage after a surgery she had that it needed to be removed. We picked out a new ear ring today and Mark was an excellent help in making a choice for this application it looks great. Thank you to Mark and all of the staff here they are awesome.

Between me and my 3 kids, both guys have done 20+ piercings for us...they are amazing and never had any problems trusting them...infact me and my daughter are going for another round next weekend...I wouldnt/couldnt imagine going anywhere else!!

Update 4/20/23 Came in because my piercing had closed up after a week of having it out.They only charged me for the jewelryMade a same day appointment for a nose piercing. I usually go to Iron Brush, but they werent doing nose piercings due to COVID. Matt was super nice and helpful, made mr feel at ease. Andy at the counter was helpful when picking out jewelry and helped me pick just the right one! Highly recommended!

Walked in on a Thursday afternoon to switch out my black nose ring to a bronze colored one. The service was extremely professional, and my piercer patiently answered my questions. Ill be sure to return for all my piercing needs. 👃

RECOMMEND 100% ! I got a helix piercing, and it was such a good experience for being my first ‘real’ piercing. Matt was the one I got. He talked me through everything that was gonna happen, and talk to my mom and made sure she was also okay with everything I was doing. He made this feel very comfortable and made sure that if I was ready for the piercing and even picked out the best size for my ear !

I got my nose pierced today & it was a pretty good experience except for the pain. The person that helped me at the counter was very nice & also happened to be the one piercing me. This is my first time going to get a professional piercing but I have some concerns. My best friend with a ton of professional piercings was very concerned when I told her the process. The first concern was they didnt lube the needle at all & the second was they pierced from the inside out. I was in so much pain. On a scale of 1-10 it would be a 7. Im really happy with the placement & everything but Im not sure if this is the correct way its done. The pain was a whole lot since Ive been told by many people its the least painful facial piercing. Im not sure if I would recommend going here or not.

I went in for my first facial piercing today (nostril), and my piercer was very friendly and professional. He made sure I understood the process, and it was all very clean. I started feeling faint after it was done, but he gave me an ice pack and a cup of water and chatted with me until I was okay to leave. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

My friends had one of the piercers saying a latch hold hoop was as 120$ then when she went back a different day a different piercers said it was 94$. Like let’s keep it consistent and not over charge.

Matt was AWESOME! My daughter got her upper ear cartilage pierced and I finally pierced my nose. I was super super nervous but Matt made us both feel very comfortable with how the process was going to work. Explained everything in detail, ensured everything was sterile and has been extremely helpful even after with questions that came up. The staff was very friendly but Mark did both mine and my friends piercings wrong. My septum piercing is straight through the cartilage and was excruciatingly painful. My friends is crooked. He did not mention once to either of us that these mistakes were made. We are both unhappy that we paid $90 each for piercings that were done incorrectly. I have many piercings and this was easily my worst experience. The good thing is they are a professional shop with good sterilization techniques.

My friend and I went in for belly button piercings and I have a SEVERE fear of needles. Super nervous, get lightheaded, sweaty hands, etc. The staff here couldn’t have been kinder and more patient about it. They explained every step of the way what was going to happen, told me if I didn’t want to do it today it was totally fine, and made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Highly, highly recommend to anyone wanting to get pierced. Jewelry is a little pricey but honestly, you want something high quality going into your body and not some cheap metal. Love this place.

I had not had any piercings since my ears 26 years ago, so I wasnt sure what to expect. They had a great assortment of jewelry, everything was very clean and professional, and Matt knew exactly the amount of chit chat needed to put me at ease as he pierced my nose. Cannot recommend them enough!They gave clear instructions on after care and details on exactly what was being done/what jewelry they used and how to look for new jewelry to replace it with down the road.

Matt did my first non-lobe piercing when I was 16 or 17 and did an amazing job. He not only made me, but also my mom who at the time had to sign a waver for me, feel good about getting pierced. It healed beautifully and Ive never had an issue with it. Tonight I went and got my forward helix pierced and again Matt was wonderful. Hes very knowledgeable about his craft and which makes everything so easy going and comfortable. Not only that but he wants YOU to feel like you know everything too, so he does an excellent job of explaining what hes doing, how to take care of it, why things are the way they are, etc. I will continue to recommend and go to Onyx myself for all my piercing needs!

Matt did my navel piercing and he was super sweet and helpful throughout the entire process. The shop was clean and his sterilization techniques were fantastic. Definitely recommend Onyx and Matt.

I just got my first piercing in ten years from Mark, and I could not be happier! He was fun, kind, and incredibly professional. He communicated every single step of the process, and made sure to go over the after care tips a couple of times. I would recommend Know Piercing to anyone! Another plus was the gorgeous jewelry selection they have! Some places only have one option for your first stud, but they had a huge selection, and I left with a stunning emerald nose stud. Their studs are also a fabulous system that lets you change the gem without taking out the post. Brilliant! All in all, this experience was so much better than I could have even hoped!

Mark was great! I would highly recommend this place. He talked threw everything step by step and made sure you knew what was going on. I love their jewellery. And their sterilization process is great. I felt very safe and confident about having him do my piercing.

I got my nose pierced and was able to get a same day appointment. Everyone was wearing masks and they only allow the person getting pierced to come inside the shop. Everything including the jewelry was medically sanitized beforehand. My piercer (Mark) was professional and clearly knew what he was doing. He was also very nice even when I cried in his chair. Mark even gave me some advice on some previous piercings (not done at Onyx) which I really appreciated, as the shop that did those was nowhere near as professional as this place. I will definitely be coming back, and would really recommend this place especially for more complicated piercing jobs.

I have several piercings from these guys! They are by far the best in town! They are inviting and knowledgeable and The placement is ALWAYS perfect! I have had them done by both Matt and Mark! Mark recently did my Tragus, Nose and Lip all in 2 days! He was very fast and efficient with very little pain (there will always be some, since a needle is going in your body and everything!!!) Mark was so nice and he made my visit pleasant and my piercings very pleasing to the eye! Thank you guys so much! I will be back and would recommend anyone wanting a piercing to see them!!

Best experience!! The front gal Heather is so warm and personable that she just draws you in. Mark is so professional, from explaining paperwork to read and sign to discussing the piercing that you are getting. He plays question and answer very well. He showed us how he was sterilizing everything in the machine and while that was going on he went over all details to make sure that I knew exactly what was going on and understood care, cleaning and healing. Marks great at what he does and makes a calm atmosphere so the experience turns out perfect!

Went in to have my nose pierced today for the first time. I was very nervous, and it was my first time there. I had heard such great things about this business, and they certainly lived up to what I had heard and exceeded my expectations. Mark was the one to do my piercing. He was very professional and talked me through everything from start to finish and made me feel at ease. Very clean environment and he was very thorough in explaining the procedure and aftercare instructions. They even test tools for sterility right there at your appointment. I would highly recommend them and will go there again for future piercings.

A great place to go for piercings. I’ve had 4 piercings done here. All of them were done very well and healed right on schedule. The piercers are very professional and personable, they were extremely helpful in jewelry and placement selection, and they answered any questions I had perfectly. Scheduling appointments went very smoothly as well, with them even fitting me in at the last minute in some cases.

My daughter, who was 16, got her nose pierced at Onyx. Being a mom, I checked this place out as I was looking for a clean and safe location. This place was incredible. Took the time to ensure items used were sterilized and surfaces were covered. She had no problems after the piercing with healing. We have been back since for an ear piercing. As a mom, I highly recommend this place.

Brought my 16 yr old in to get her helix hybrid pierced. Matt did an amazing job all around! Talked to my daughter about it since she was the one getting the piercing. Shared with me since I was signing the paperwork. And, kept it low-key to help keep the nerves down! Will be back!

I chose Onyx because Mark and Matt are members of APP. Mark was the one who pierced my septum. He was clean and sterile about everything, he answered any questions I had and made sure I was happy with the jewelry and sizing. Mark pierced my septum and immediately told me it was crooked/uneven and gave me the option to come back in a few weeks to fix it or to fix it now. I chose to do it again that day while I was there since I dont live in Lincoln and I cant deal with a noticable crooked piercing. It looks great now and healing well so far.

Matt did a great job with my daith piercing. He was excited about the whole thing when I even mentioned the piercing upon our first meeting. As we were going about the procedure, he was very informative and made me feel at ease with each step, sanitation, aftercare, etc. Plus the earring he offered me sparkles beautifully; it really shows off my new piercing!The shop has a pleasant, inviting atmosphere and it is quite clean. Matt is a great guy and pierced my Lip in January. It was pain free and he had a very clean shop. I went back to Matt to put in a curved nose stud that had fallen out and even though he had not pierced my nose he gladly helped. I recommend him to anyone in the area.

I have had three piercings done at this facility, and hope to get another one placed this afternoon. Their jewelry is a tad pricey, but it is more than worth it. I have sensitivity to some metals; at one point I thought I would need to let my piercings close because they were becoming too much of a problem. However, the jewelry selection Onyx has available for purchase has never caused me any issues! I have purchaced up to 10 pieces from them, and highly recommend their jewelry in you too have a sensitivity to certain types of metal.

I went in to get some help changing my nose ring to a stud. The staff declined to help me, saying that the jewelry I had was “crappy” and he “wouldn’t feel good about it.” He then pointed to their jewelry case and suggested that I buy new jewelry from them. It kind of seemed like he was just trying to sell me jewelry.

Piercing: September 2012. Originally, I wanted three anti helix piercings, but instead of agreeing and gaining from my later pain, he advised that only one would fit in that spot comfortably. He talked me through the entire process--from the sanitized instruments, the different types of earrings I could buy, and a through explanation and handout about after care. Though I didnt have any infections or issues with my piercing, I knew I could call Matt at anytime for help. Because I got a threaded earring, he urged me to come back to him whenever my waiting period ended so he could help me. Whenever anyone asks for a piercing recommendation (I have nine total), I recommend Matt--both for the expertise and the range of cool jewelry!

This is the second time Ive had my nose pierced. The first one was done at another place in Lincoln at the end of December. This week, I got a head cold. At some point one day this week, when blowing my nose, the nose ring (an elbow style) came out without me noticing it. Later that night when getting ready for bed, I finally noticed it was missing. I quickly tried putting in a replacement, but it was too late as itd already closed. I never liked the elbow style in the first place because it never stayed in place; sometimes the end was sticking out my nose. Anyway, I decided to do a little research before I had it redone. I began seeing Matts name on many sites. All of them were positive so I decided to give it a try. When I arrived, Matt was busy with another customer, but while choosing a stud, he overheard me ask if they have the spiral kind because I didnt not want it to fall out again. He took a few seconds (before getting back to the other customer) to show me the kind hed recommend (the kind he wears) because it is a very secure design. When it was my turn, Matt explained the sterilization process of the equipment/stud. While it was being sterilized, he went through a brochure explaining the healing process and the care necessary for the piercing. It also included his contact information, and told me to actually contact him if I had any questions (even if I was considering buying another piece of jewelry & hed lead me in the right direction). He began deciding the best placement for the stud. He asked my opinion, and I said, Youre the expert! He acknowledged the truth in that statement, but he wanted to make sure I felt comfortable/beautiful with it. According to Matt, Im a bleeder. So, he told me how to care for it tonight and then continue with the care wed discussed earlier. He made me feel very comfortable because he knows what hes doing, & he cares about his clients. I was also very impressed with the steps taken to make sure everything was clean & sanitized. The cost of the second piercing was more expensive than the first one, but it was worth it. Not only because I do not have to worry about losing this one (and paying for it to be done again), but because of the service I received at Big O Tattoo & Know Piercing! Great job, Matt! I will certainly recommend you to anyone I hear discussing a piercing.

Great clean place. Very thorough explanation of procedure. Loved that our piercer went over aftercare and everything before performing the actual peircing. They provided many educational opportunities so no matter your learning style there is a way for you to effectively learn to best care for your new peircing. They had an AMAZING selection of jewelry. No more ugly surgical steel hoops or barbells. No way. They had top notch jewelry and you could choose whatever you wanted to get pierced with (within reason). That being said, it is pricey. It depends what jewlery you pick but I about fell out of my shoes when I got my total rung up at the counter. But you get what you pay for: good jewelry, good artist, sterile instruments, and clean procedure.

Matt did an excellent job keeping me up to date on the progress of my jewelry. He was also very calming during the day of my piercing and I would happily go to Onyx again to get additional piercings.

Every opinion he offered was with good intentions. Not once did he attempt to pressure me into any sort of added expense. He was actually referred to me by Iron Brush, which should tell you he is a respected member of the body art community in Lincoln. The variety of jewelry he offered was exquisite. Not once have I ever had so many options of such high quality in any other shop. VERY happy with my experience, and will definiteley go to him for all of my future piercing needs.

We just drove 3 hours to get my daughter a piercing while she is here visiting for the summer. They didnt tell us we had to bring any documentation other than our IDs, and while we were trying to get a photo of her birth certificate send to our phone, they locked the door and turned off the lights!! 🤬 TERRIBLE service, completely unprofessional. Closes at 9pm, yet even now its only 8:45pm and theyre gone. Go somewhere else!

Mark did my piercing. I got a vertical labret done and I’m very happy with the the results! He was thorough and very sweet the whole time. Would totally recommend!

UPDATE: I went in to get help replacing a ball for my industrial. I was kept waiting nearly an hour before the piercer was available, only to tell me that they didnt have any balls that I needed and Id have to buy an entirely new bar. It would have been nice if someone had been able to clarify that before I wasted so much time.°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°Piercers are very knowledgeable and helpful. Got a really cute stud for my conch since my hoop has been causing me some healing issues.

When it comes to certain things I am ANAL! about symmetry haha....not only do I enjoy being pierced I enjoy the finished product. Mark did a fantastic job of being super chill and informative. I want to get my nose pierced but not so sure if this place is actually good? can anyone let me know thanks! I got my nose pierced a few weeks ago at a different place and the woman who pierced it said it’s suppose to be half way out for it to heal? I’m not sure if that was correct or not, and my nose was bruised for a few days as well. Anyone let me know how was your nose thanks!
