I had a regrettable backyard tattoo from my youth that made me embarrassed to take off my shirt. After reaching out to multiple tattoo artists, I was met with rejection as no one was willing to take on the challenge of covering up the large, poorly done piece. I had almost given up hope until I saw Jeremy Swanson on the TV show “America’s Worst Tattoos.” His ability to transform terrible tattoos into stunning works of art gave me a glimmer of hope, especially since he was a local artist in Southern California.When I reached out to Jeremy, he welcomed the challenge with open arms and confidence. I first went to Jeremy with a cover up challenge and not only did he run with my abstract idea, he also gave some recommendations I hadnt considered that I adore to this day. I went back to Jeremy for two more abstract tattoo ideas and they turned out fantastic thanks to his remarkable attention to detail and finesse with texture. Ive been tattooed all over the country, and by many differing artists. Sadly though, most shops have a reputation of flakiness, ego and discomfort. But, B.A.T. is not like any other shop. The artists are kind, caring and personable. Jeremy Swan (the owner) has been my artist for years, and is not only an exceptional artist but exceptional human as well. Each of these dudes are the real deal, the shop is clean, easy parking at their new location in Glendale and we walk out overjoyed every time with the product. Highest of recommendations!

Came in here when I realized it was the 13th, Im coming back for more. These guys pass the vibe check and do amazing work. Josue went HARD on my Cherry Drama mask tat and there wasnt a dull moment. Spectacular work, spectacular people. Plus, the pizza next door is some spectacular aftercare.

I recently got my first tattoo. Josue was so kind and patient with me. I had a lot of questions in regards to the pain etc. He answered all of my questions. He made sure I was comfortable with the design and placement. I had a great experience thanks to him.

Jeremy Swan did an amazing job on my newest tattoo. I’ve been looking for a good artist for quite a while now, and I have found him! He had multiple challenges - a bit of cover up, my quite delicate skin and coming up with a design that would mesh with previous tats while taking the artwork in a fresh direction. I brought in a lot of concept images & ideas and we talked about what to do… he first did a rough sketch on my forearm and wrist and then began to work.Working completely freehand, he created a graceful, detailed, and shaded spectacular Japanese-influenced chrysanthemum. The funny thing is had I chosen a flower variety I probably would have started out with a peony, but after discussing with him, turns out it was the perfect image for the area. It’s just gorgeous, and I can wait til it heals. He is an artist. And I will be back for more 😊 Pics to come.. thanks Swan 💚

I was visiting from Texas and didn’t want to miss the chance to get tatted from some of the best artists. Cali is filled with amazing tattoo artists and I was very aware of that when I decided to vacation here. I had filled out inquiry forms to several shops and Broken Art was one of the first to respond. Joshua was able to fit me in the same day. The shop is small and quaint but plenty of room for all 4 artists there and their clients.All the artists seemed great and their clients were all happy upon completion of their tattoos.Joshua was amazing. He was very personable and also gave me and my best friend so many good places to go for food.On top of that the tattoo he created for me with just a mere of an idea was awesome. I’d share but I don’t want anyone copying it! The tattoo that he designed and completed would have taken 3 hours for someone here in Texas to do. I know because I’ve asked lol.All the artists were welcoming and the energy in the shop was overall great.I would highly recommend this place.I’m considering coming back to get more work just because the work was so great!

I have gotten a lot of work done by some of the best tattoo artists all over the world and Derreke is easily one of the best. Not only is he out of control talented but he is as cool a they get. Every time I get tattooed at Broken Art I feel like I’m hanging with good friends. Great Shop even better tattoos…. I couldn’t recommend enough.

I’ve been tattooed by Jeremy, Matt and Josue here multiple times. It’s always been a pleasure working with each of these artists. I’ve picked from their flash books and had them all draw custom tattoos for me and no matter which way you go, it will be great! They are extremely professional and talented. Can’t recommend them highly enough! If you’re on the fence about getting work done here but your mind at ease with these absolute rock stars!

Dillon is absolutely AMAZING! He worked with me until my vision was perfected. I had my roses updated and a butterfly added. Yes, he is very sweet and very cute. Thats the added benefit of sitting in his chair. The primary benefit is hi professionalism, creativity, and intuitiveness. Amazing artist!

Tl;dr - booked an appointment with Jeremy through his scheduling guy Aaron and he didnt even show up.After waiting several days for a reply after requesting an appointment with Jeremy, I got confirmation via his booking guy, Aaron, that I had an appointment in the afternoon for a simple logo tattoo on my arm. This was a couple weeks in advance. The topic of price or time it would take was never brought up, which I thought was weird but whatever. Then, two days before my confirmed appointment, Aaron left me a voicemail saying Hey dude, turns out me and Jeremy have to go ride motorcycles to Mexico for my birthday, so we might have to push your appointment back an hour or two. Alright, kind of a strange reason but thats fine, I could be flexible that day so no biggie. I called him back to re-confirm but never heard anything that day or the next day.The weekend comes and my girlfriend was also getting a tattoo about an hour before that same day with Josh Ojeda, so we went in to get hers and he did a great job. We came back after hers was done at my original confirmed time and the door was locked with no one there. I figured Aaron would reach out sometime in there since Jeremy didnt show for my original appointment time, so we waited two hours and then came back, just for the door to be locked again with nobody there. I never heard back from Aaron or Jeremy after that.There were so many other ways this could have been handled. A simple call from them apologizing and requesting a rescheduled appointment would have done the trick. But to give such an amateurish excuse on such short notice, literally not showing up when I went back for my appointment, both at my original confirmed time AND again two hours later (which, by the way, was never confirmed, just a guess based on the most vauge approximation Aaron gave me), and then to not even respond or follow up in any way after the fact? Laughably unprofessional in every way.On the flip side, Josh gave us a really good overall experience. Super on the ball, professional in every way, and a great communicator when my girlfriend was confirming her design and appointment with him. If it werent for my poor experience, Id rate this place higher.

My vision came to life, Derrek was on point, almost pain free. The colors are amazing and my dads OG signature makes it magical. Highly recommend Derrek for your next tattoo!!

What a great experience! One of the most professional and relaxed environment to have Immaculate artwork done on the body. Derrek was my artist he did an amazing cover-up on what was i thought could never be covered and I couldnt imagine having work done by anyone else since this experience.

Matt was awesome. I called in to see if they had availability for walk ins on the same day, and he said they did. I told him what I wanted over the phone, and he had already started drawing it by the time I showed up 20 minutes later. I was in and out within 2 hours, and all for a very reasonable price. Will be back.

I am 61 years old and just got my first tattoo from Broken Art Tattoo. I was very nervous, but everyone was so nice and understanding. My artist was Joshua Ojeda. Cant write enough great things about him. Couldnt have been in better hands. THANK YOU, JOSH

Reached out to them for a month and could not get a return call or email. Contacted them via their website general request, direct email and phone and whenever I got someone on the phone they said the shop manager would call but never got a call back. The response I got was, we have a lot of people, like 100 a day so sorry but hopefully someone will call you back this time

Adam designed the Valkyrie tattoo I wanted and it came out better than I expected. For sure I will come here again.
