My first tattoo! Baron was amazing, extremely easy to talk to and had me laughing alot. But he treated my tattoo like it was his very own! Enjoyed the challenge I gave him and dont even get me started with his pricing he was very helpful in fitting the tattoo within my budget. I am really thankful and will be coming back to his shop again!

Baron is the BEST! Kind, funny and very professional. I went in for the Christina piercing on Monthers Day and it was a great experience! A week and a half later- still NO issues.Cant wait to return for him to do my tattoo!

Brought my son here to get his ears pierced for his birthday. It was a great experience and one Im sure he will remember. Baron is so chill and cool and funny. He made my son turn around so he couldnt see my face haha. Of course I was being THAT mama, but Baron was completely professional and answering all questions and explaining the actual process and the aftercare. His customer service is excellent, he has years of experience and even gave use a special spray for healing. We will definitely be back!

What can be said about Baron @ Monkey Face. Man is a legend my only thing is I wish I live in CA to have more work done with him. Called and booked an appt. many months ago as he was probably one of the fairest priced artists I spoke to. Wanted a simple Roman numeral date done for myself and my wife and we werent disappointed. He was very clean, and a perfectionist. His personality was very nice and just an overall awesome guy. If I ever come back to CA and want another tattoo I am looking no further. Been to Baron twice for tattoos and he’s now my go to artist in LA. He is patient with design and will give his opinion without being too pushy. He’s personable without being extra. And most importantly, he is not heavy handed which makes the more sensitive areas tolerable. I recommend him to anyone who asks me for a recommendation. I have several tattoos and he’s the only person I’ve gone back to twice.

I went to get my industrial piercing there for the first time I was nervous but the guy reassured me and he got it done really quickly o was there max 15 minutes. Overall it went really well and I was happy with the piercing. Will definitely be going back.

Received my first piercing here about two years ago, and came back today for a nose piercing. Baron is extremely good at what he does and makes the process as quick and efficient for his clients. Hes very friendly and answers any questions that you may have.My nose began to bleed a lot (normal for certain people) during the procedure and he handled it very calmly and quickly. I felt at ease and in good hands during the entire thing and didnt even realize he had finished! Absolutely awful experience. Piercer used a bar that was way too short for my helix piercing, that eventually got embedded in my ear. Had to go to Urgent Care to get the piercing surgically removed. Any professional would know that the bar they placed was way too short. Do not go here!

I contacted this shop via email late at night requesting a quote and Baron Davis THE ARTIST got back to me within the hour with a reasonable rate. He advised me to come into the shop to schedule an appointment, and when I did, he was actually able to see me same-day. Baron did an exceptional job on my tattoo and he was such a nice guy and so easy to talk to. The whole experience was a breeze. Ill definitely be coming back for future tattoos. Highly recommend!

So... me and my ex-husband reunited again after several years and we did a thing. We got matching his & hers tattoos. Neither of us were experienced in getting them and I (personally) was a big ball of nerves. Baron made this an easy, carefree, memorable and satisfying experience.We were advised upon our consultation that it sould be a painless process and it would take approximately 8 hours to complete the double tatting. It was pretty painless and both tattoos were completed in 4 1/2 hours. Why so long you ask? (LOL) Because during the time of our sessions there was 1 walk in piercing and 2 walk in consultations. Baron gave the walk-in customers the same kindness, respect and attention as he did us initially and while we were there... and still managed to complete the jobs 3 1/2 hours earlier than expected.I cannot express how pleased we are with the work. We got the same tattoo each having its own unique features that no one would notice but us. The goal was met, the job is beautiful and we cannot wait to get our new additions. We want more!I highly, 100% and absolutely recommend giving Baron a call to set up your appointment. You will NOT be disappoainted.

NUMBER 1 Tattoo Artist! By far one of the best artist Ive ever had. He accepted us as walk ins at 8:45pm, he let us know it would be a minute before he got to us so he could finish his other clients. Baron sat down with us for 3 hours getting the custom piece just right and to our liking, he even re-did work when we wanted something new. I got my first tattoo from Baron here. I had an amazing experience and I was comfortable the whole time. Everything was very clean and organized. I found this shop when I was looking for an artist out here in LA. Baron is such a nice, funny, and wonderful artist! He did my second tattoo and it came out beautifully! He is so great, he even kept his shop open an hour later just to finish my tattoo! I also went back yesterday to get my nostril pierced. It was very quick! I absolutely love Monkey Face and will continue to go there until I die or less dramatically decide to stop getting tatted. Despite my extreme fear of pain and needles, I love tattoos. Especially when Baron does them! He is amazingly talented (#gifted) and has been tattooing forever and you can tell by his extreme attention to detail and craftsmanship. I can easily go in with a concept and he will help me transform it into the perfect tattoo for me. Not to mention I was having some troubles with a previous piercing I received at a another shop and he helped me disinfect the piercing and make it look and feel beautiful again. I was referred to Baron by some good friends who have had work done by him before. We had a consultation which went well and I scheduled an appointment. I needed to reschedule, which was a little difficult, but he took me in on a holiday and once I was seated for my appointment, Baron was nothing but great. Baron is the nicest guy and makes you feel completely at ease as soon as you walk in the door. I was the last person he tattooed on the day I went and even after he’d been tattooing for 10 hours, he was so great and put in the same amount of care he did for every other tattoo throughout the day. Baron is the absolute best at what he does!! There is no one like him. From the moment my friends and I walked in to his shop (no appointment) he made us aware that he was an appointment based shop but still decided to take us in and made us feel comfortable and welcomed the entire time. Very knowledgeable in what he does. The only down side is that he is located in Cali and I live in Miami but I will definitely be back to MonkeyFace for more art.

Incredible Quality, at a Great Business, both my husband and I have now gotten tattoos from Baron. Years ago my husband was one of his portfolio models for his back piece, and ended up loving it so much he came back for a 3/4 sleeve and a 1/2 sleeve. After seeing Barons work every day on him for the last 6 years I knew I was only going to go to Baron for my first and only tattoo. Was just in last week for the second session. He is very conscious of skin infections and takes many hygienic precautions to make sure that everything is sterile. The quality is great, he has a light touch but the ink sets really well. I would highly recommend Baron.

Came here to get my ears pierced the other day. The process was quick, simple and painless. Baron was very precise with the measurements making sure it was even. I was nervous at first since it was my first piercing but I quickly felt comfortable and relaxed once we got to business. The only complaint would be that the earring was put on super tight, but that was understandable since there would’ve been hella blood, I just loosened it up when I got home. Definitely coming back in the future. 👌🏾

This was my first time in Los Angeles and I really wanted my first tattoo to mean something. I booked this appointment a month in advance, only to get stuck on Hollywood Blvd with no way to get there. I called Baron to tell him I wouldnt make it and he was so understanding. I planned to call him later to reschedule but I only had one more day left on my trip and didnt know if it was possible. Almost two hours after my appointment, he contacted me back and told me to come in. He didnt want me to leave LA without my tattoo. Because what I originally wanted would take too long, we changed it a little, and I know it was a huge inconvenience, but I am so thankful! My tattoo came out perfect. I love it so much! Im so glad I waited to get a tattoo that means something to me. If Im ever in LA Id definitely come here again. 1000% Recommend.

I love monkey face tattoos! Since I moved into Southern California, this is the only shop I will go to. Baron is an amazing artist and he always makes sure I am both 100% comfortable and 100% happy when I am getting work done. I came in as a walk-in, and I was immediately greated, I wasn’t really expecting to get a tattoo today, but I was convinced to go for it, I got a small alien tattoo on my index finger, and I honestly thought it was just going to be the black outline because of how small it is, BUT, my artist, Baron surprised me with color, it came out better than I expected. Definitely coming back to get some more work done, and the prices are pretty good for the work you’re getting. Highly recommend!

I was referred to Monkey Face Tattoos by a friend mine whom had gotten their tattoo done at this location. I liked the work he did on my friend so I decided to book with him. He was so friendly and informative creative about the tattoos and designs. I loved the work he did on my arm and will going back for any future work I will be having done. I followed his instructions on keeping my tattoo covered for at least 4 days for the patch that he uses to actually heal the tattoo. I definitely recommend him to anyone.. Oh, let me mention my tattoo did not hurt one bit because of the method of tattooing.

Where do I start, me and my boyfriend were looking for a nice spot to getting matching tatts while visiting L.A. After visiting several other shops we came across this one. Im SUPER afraid of needles and Baron made me feel so comfortable. I got my first tattoo so that I could have visible scars to match the invisible ones. He custom designed a tattoo for me in remembrance of my deceased family members and it was everything that I imagined it to be.When he told me that he was lighthanded, I didnt believe that there was such a thing when it came to tattooing. I felt it of course but it wasnt painful despite me getting it on my spine. Im scheduled for some more work tomorrow (with color!!!) and Im super stoked.

My wife and I flew in from Denver to catch a concert/celebrate our anniversary. We wanted anniv. tattoos that I drew (sailor jerry style no bigger than 3in x 3in). After getting a ridiculous and outrageous quote from a different shop (Hollywood Stars aka Hollywood Squares) that wanted to completely change my design btw, we came across Monkey Face on google. I stumbled upon Monkey Face Tattoos & shop owner Baron Davis by accident after deciding to have a sleeve worked on. Upon meeting Baron, I noticed a clean and welcoming lounge area-- complete with some unobstructive music and television on to help with a really relaxed and easygoing environment. Clearly on display is some of his portfolios on display for review in order to showcase his legitimacy and achievements throughout his professional career. While talking to Baron, he acted as a consultant, not a salesperson and really understood what it is I was looking for with an extensive tattoo job. Understanding what it is I was looking for, he took his time and carefully drew a piece reflective of what I was looking for which was a reflection of my heritage. Additionally, rather than rush the extensive job, he broke up the job in several segments over the course of many months. The bottom line is that while hes not cheap in the least bit, the quality of the tattoo job has been second to none, especially in the part of Los Angeles he is based in where tattoo shops are fairly uncommon. Easily one of the best in the city and HIGHLY recommended.

I went to get my ears pierced as my original piercings faced outward. Explained my dilemma, told him exactly what I wanted. He mentioned his own piercings face somewhat outward, I said , actually no and if they look like yours I would be fine. He is the only one there, just all over the place so he doesnt concentrate on you. 1.5 month later that I replaced the studs with hoops and one faces outward and the other foward. Just awful!

Went in for a small tattoo last night. Environment was clean and the vibe was chill. Once he was done with my tattoo I noticed that it was not straight at all. He noticed that I was not happy and asked me why. Told him it was not straight and was he not only arguing with me that it was, and after several attempts saying that my arm was crooked, or that I was looking at it wrong or I was positioned wrong. As a tattoo artist it is your job to stencil the tattoo and make sure it is straight before you start tattooing. Not only were you arguing with me you also got Devora involved asking if it was straight. When clearly you knew it was NOT! All you could have done is admitted that you were wrong and be professional about a mistake that will be on my arm forever! An advice tip I would give you is to stop being distracted and pissed off because people are coming in trusting you. I don’t think I should have paid for a tattoo that clearly was not positioned right!

I love this place. The environment was professional and very friendly. I am always concerned about sterilization of the instruments, but they where very clean. The staff was knowledgeable about piercings and the after-care upkeep. On top of that, the price was excellent.

I went on a whim to get my septum done. I did a quick search. And spotted this place. I called and asked a few questions. I went the same day. One. It didnt hurt. I teared up alot he was so nice/sweet he kept apologizing. He gave me sea salt and told me it would take a year to heal but a least 4 months before I should change it. (Safe side) I respected and appreciated him for that. Im think Im done with piercings and I dont do tats but he would would be my go to person. ❤❤

I’ve been there before and had a great experience myself. I referred a friend and was very disappointed at his demeanor with them. I was quite embarrassed because I had literally put this man on a pedestal saying how awesome he was. He was very short tempered with them and as my friend said “GROUCHY” granted she was pretty excited about the whole thing and she showed her excitement as she entered the door but you must be aware of people who can’t control there excitement at times. #excitementblower.

He took me and my bestie in as walk ins after 8 o’clock and he took care of what we wanted. He was completely professional and made the whole experience fun by making conversation with us as well. If we are back in the area, we will definitely stop by and see him again!

He’s arrogant, and rude. My sister and I called and came to his shop, today. We received consultations and then we WAITED when two other people came in, AFTER us paying customers. He devoted ALL his time to them and made us wait. Then, he had the audacity to try to chastise me in front of them. I told him we had to get back home to our mother. He has a problem with respect and respecting people’s time. The other ppl laughed and talked, not knowing what they wanted. But, me and my sister KNEW what we wanted and was willing to PAY for what we wanted. I would never give him my business. He boasts about being a “black owned” business, but he didn’t treat this MELANIN women right!

When I got my first septum pierced the result was OK but I dealt with it. In the shop, the piercer told me that I could change it a month after. I got it pierced on August 4th, and now it is September 12th when I tried to switch it. When done so, the holes immediately closed after 5 minutes without it. I was devastated; I researched online about it and I was told to keep the septum in for a whole year before switching the jewelry, and I was furious. I talked to him about it and he said that it was my fault on doing so, even when he told me to change it. He said that I can get it re pierced for free, but I have to bring my septum (from August 4th) so he could put it back in. Disgusted, I declined. Youre supposed to supply with a new piercing, not a used one. I DO NOT recommend going here, once they mess up the blame is on you.

My cousin and I went here to get our nipples pierced. My cousin had just got a tattoo under her breast the day before by another artist, and he felt the need talk down on her tattoo saying it was crooked and that it was unexceptable, amongst other things. While talking bad about someone else’s work he should of been concentrating on perfecting his own work because my left nipple piercing is crooked. This was not noticed till i was back home in Washington State the following morning because as soon as he was done he covered them with paper towel and tape
