Needed to kill some time while around the area, so I walked into the shop and was greeted by Kristi. She was super hospitable and let me browse. I decided I wanted a piercing and she was able to slot me in right away. Kristi pierced my upper helix with the flower earring. It went super smooth and she let me hang around after while waiting for my friends to finish their dance class at Playground.

I’ve come here multiple times for new piercings and jewelry changes. Kristi is amazing, very gentle, and definitely knows her stuff. I trust her completely!

Dollface is amazing at fine line tattoos (among so many other styles)! We had such a great time getting friendship tattoos today. Super professional, everything clean and hygienic, plus we are so in love w the finished products. Cannot recommend this shop more highly!!

THE BEST PIERCING PLACE EVER!!!! I got my cartilage pierced here when I was 16, my septum at 21, and have been coming back for new jewelry ever since. All piercings are done super well with professional and friendly staff. Doll Face is AMAZING and super knowledgeable about all things piercing/tattoo related, and is always so kind and thoughtful. She will talk you through all of your options and the side effects so that you feel comfortable and excited! I just got my belly button pierced here and I 100% recommend this place. Doll face was so comforting, and she made me feel so secured and welcomed. I came by myself but her presence alone made me feel relaxed and less nervous. They are very sanitary and informative of proper care after you get a piercing. Parking is available here!

Just got my son’s ears pierced here. Kristy And her husband Frank were absolutely amazing. They were so patient and kind with my son. The shop is so nice. Everything was so sanitary, she made my son feel so comfortable and afterwards they took great care of him.

Through Your Skin was a great tattoo experience. Clean and welcoming environment and Dollface has impeccable attention to detail and does the best line work I’ve ever seen. She also took extra care to work with my skin type which made me feel super comfortable. My tattoo looks like a sticker it’s so clean. 10/10 over all experience and would go back for another piece anytime.

Experienced such a warm and great service here. I got a new conch piercing and the owner allowed me to try to on externally threaded ball replacements for my vertical labret. I wasn’t sure what size what right for my current piercing, so it was a really pleasant surprise for the owner to offer to change my piercing as a compliment to buying the jewelry here. Most piercing shops wouldn’t do this. I got to walk away with the jewelry I needed at a great price. I’m definitely coming back.

Decided I wanted a belly piercing and saw that her reviews were great! I called and she was so helpful and sweet! My mother went to Through Your Skin when she was younger and did multiple piercings and recommended Kristi to me when I wanted my first piercing at 13 (with consent ofc). I got about 4 piercings done here in my teen years, always with the best service. My sister also got multiple piercings and her first tattoo from Kristi. I moved to Argentina a while ago and after 10 years I am on vacation in LA, and I IMMEDIATELY went back to Kristi for my surface tragus piercing. I did not trust anyone else to do this piercing but her. She knows exactly what shes doing. The most professional piercer I have met to date. She is also an OG, been in the game for multiple years. I and all my family are in love with her work and her shop as a whole. I 10000% recommend Through Your Skin.

This has become my go-to piercing spot in LA for both myself and my out of town friends and family looking for a local recco. Most places in Melrose completely gouge you for pricing, but this shop is exceptionally reasonable. DollFace did both of my piercings - she is kind, patient, gentle and a total pro. We were talking, she told me to take a deep breath and exhale, and the piercing was already over before I knew it. She also makes a lot of great, high quality jewelry if you’re looking for something that will last & you don’t have to replaced. The shop also carries a lot of half sizes for hoops if you’re looking for a nose piercing or ear piercing to match the shape and size of your body. Also…duh, stop for the Dole Whip downstairs afterwards.

Christy was my piercer and she was so friendly and informative! She gave me a great deal on my first piercings and answered all my questions. She made me feel so comfortable and I would definitely recommend her and come back again!

Walked into this business not knowing what to expect… I found a kind and knowledgeable shop owner that is very skilled at her craft. She was gentle; she didn’t push me to buy. That was some of the best looking jewelry for belly and ear piercings think I’ve ever seen!!! Listen, I’m going back to add extra ear piercings. Completely blown away.

Kristi is brilliant! She pierced my 14 yr old twins - Jackson & Jasper (photo) ears. Kristi is incredibly kind, caring, and a virtuoso with a needle. The piercing was quick, painless, perfectly placed, and no swelling! The boys are thrilled. It’s a joy watching Kristi work and the look on the boys faces, priceless!

So glad I came across this piercing and tattoo parlor. I went in for a piercing today and Kristi (the shop owner) was amazing! She also opened up another piercing I had, which I thought had healed up. Great location (with parking) and the prices are so reasonable. Defo will be coming back here for future piercings.

What an absolute JOY to go here. Dollface provided so much insight, help, knowledge, expertise, and kindess when discussing my pierpcings. I went there after having all of my piercings removed after surgery, so she had her hands full. She was gracious, gave me time to sort it all out, provided gorgeous jewelry, fairly priced everything including two new piercings...and just gave such an endearing and personal touch. But of course most importantly, you really felt her expertise. Even overhearing how she handled another client who had had an issue with another piercing, you could hear how knowledgeable she was on angles, anatomy, and placing. I got my first tattoo, and my 8 year old daughter got her ears pierced. Our entire experience was great. Kristi talked us both through what to expect, and she was very patient with my daughter, who was nervous. My tattoo turned out AMAZING. It is small, has an intricate symbol, small lettering, and a circle. It turned out so crisp and perfect. The service was quick, price was reasonable, and our overall experience was very positive. I would and will go back for future tattoos.

The only reason I dont give this -5 stars is for their prices. They are a great value unlike the other tattoo and piercing shop across the street, Body Electric.👎👎 I give this place a 1 star rating because they never answer their phone. Ive called many times when I know they are open for business and they NEVER answer the phone! In my opinion that is extremely unprofessional. The staff as people are great though. I would still recommend going there instead of getting ripped off at Body Electric.

Dollface is an amazing tattoo artist she did my first tattoo. Her colleague Dom did my second and was just as talented. The place is cool everyone is friendly and the atmosphere is very chill.

Great place!So I initially went in to get my belly button pierced. Alex (I think his name is) was super knowledgable and said it wasnt a good idea considering I didnt have a flap like most people. I waived back and forth on different areas trying to decide. He was really patient. Then decided in getting my rook pierced. Quick and easy. He did a fantastic job and even apologized if he seemed rude bc he was recovery from the flu. What a trooper! Its healing nicely and the jewelry is beautiful.The best thing about this place was that he didnt try to make a quick buck off me but instead helped me decide what would be the best piercing that wouldnt come out.Highly recommended!

Everyone there was so sweet! My industrial piercing was done quickly and professionally and she also helped me change my nose stud into a ring. Overall a good environment.

Zara is the best! So far I’ve gotten 2 outer cartilage piercings, my conch, daithe, and a rook piercing. Sorry kenof them hurt and some didn’t. It all depends on your pain tolerance and the piercer. Zara was very professional and will do your piercing quick and easy. Can’t wait till they all heal so they can change the jewelry!! Remember...you get what you pay for. Next I’m getting my lower forearm tattooed by Zara. Her tattoo work is over the top!!!

Waited outside for twenty minutes for a scheduled appointment. No one came. It was really unprofessional so I wont be back.Its way too hot in LA to leave people waiting like that.EDIT: The appointment was scheduled under the name Aydrian. It was for 12 noon on the 16th. The appointment was for a snakebite piercing on my lower lip. Im just sure who scheduled the appointment for me. However going off of my phone log it was a man who was working in your studio five days ago.As for my appointment I walked over to Body Electric next door and they gave me a walk in appointment. Again I cant stress just how unprofessional this all seemed.

I have no words. Was in the area for work, and after having already planned months in advance to get matching tattoos with my significant other (who was still at home in Vegas) decided to stop by their shop. It was Friday the 13th and they had a huge waiting list, a testament to their skills right? WRONG! My tattoo looks like a 3 year old picked up a pen and scribbled on me with it. There is absolutely no artistry evident AT ALL!!! There is even a machine slip line towards the center! I am irate and appalled. Keep in mind, my significant other and I had the EXACT same sketches of this thing. Always sucks to have the uglier tattoo in a set that is supposed to match. Whats even worse is that I didnt even pay Friday the 13th prices. I paid full price for this thing! Ill have to go to the shop here in Vegas that nailed my fiancés and see if theres any hope left for mine. Please, if you are reading this do not take the chance of permanently marking your body here. They were very nice and all, but some things are more important. When this is the work of the shop owner who also bragged about how great it was (Kristi), its not worth it. The lady there was great. Gave me great information on what I needed to get pierced and what to be aware of. I was in and out for a simple ear piercing. Just overall a nice quick experience.

My favorite tattoo and piercing spot of all time! Four of my five tats were done here, as was my cartilage piercing! 3 of my tats were also from their Friday the 13th flash sale events—they have sooooo many flash designs to choose from and do lovely linework! I had trouble with my nose ring (which I got done elsewhere) and they immediately fixed it up for me, too.
