I booked a session with Josh Swords, and he absolutely killed it! I didnt know exactly what I wanted my tattoo to look like, but I sent him some inspiration photos beforehand. He was great at communicating with me so I knew what to expect. During the appointment he was super focused but also really friendly. It was obvious he cared about doing quality work. The shop also seemed very professional in terms of hygiene and cleanliness. After a full day session, I am absolutely AMAZED at the beautiful piece Josh put together. His level of detail and creativity is absolutely ridiculous. Thank you Josh and Golden Phoenix!

He’s an artist and listens to you. Always ready way ahead of your schedule appointment time. Organized. Does not take hundreds of breaks.He gets into a “zone” and does his masterpiece. Solid work ethics. Always learning and listening. Detailed oriented. Artistic and has creative abilities. An all around great, easy going guy with mad skills.I highly recommend Josh!

My 5yo got her ears pierced today by Brandie at Golden Phoenix in Madison, and I was nervous going into this blindly, but it was a fantastic experience and I truly could not recommend this location enough.The space at Golden Phoenix is clean and interesting, the vibe is relaxed, all of the staff we interacted with were kind and welcoming (via text, call, and in person), and the piercing experience itself far exceeded my expectations.Brandie was calm, encouraging, and kind - she patiently walked my daughter through every step of the process (even gave demonstrations) to calm her nerves, spent so much of her own time to make sure she had the placement exactly right, and the execution was flawless.Also want to callout that I loved the emphasis given towards my kiddo’s consent and comfort. My daughter signed her own consent beside my parental signature, and she was assured multiple times that if she wanted to stop the process, it would stop immediately at her word.Again, I couldn’t recommend them enough for anybody looking for a hygienic, caring, and skilled location to take their business.

Christian did my piercing and made the whole experience so great. He joked with us and made me feel less nervous and my friends and I had a great time joking around with him. The shop is clean and was such a fun environment!

What a great experience and excellent work. Jason is a class act and a true artist. He does fantastic work and prides himself in his business. Cannot speak highly enough of this place.

My wife and I used Orlando for our first tattoos here.He was very easy to work with and did an awesome job throughout the whole process. All the artists seemed extremely thorough in the sanitation and cleanliness of their areas. The atmosphere is very friendly and open. I would definitely recommend Golden Phoenix and Orlando to anyone looking for a solid tattoo.

Awesome place! Josh Swords did my tattoo and I couldnt be happier. He loves what he does and he is great at it. I brought in a picture/design idea that I wanted, but there were few changes I wanted to make. Josh really made the design next level. Very friendly, chill environment. They have a few other artists that have some very impressive work as well. In the future, I will continue to go to Josh for tattoos and I HIGHLY recommend him.

Christian was absolutely wonderful! My friend and I got these tattoos and could not be happier! Christian was so cool to work with and next time I’m in Alabama, I plan to have more tattoo money and see him again. Thank you again Christian!

I had a great experience here, Grant did my tattoo and he did a perfect job!! He was so gentle and kind. I recommend you go see him he is there on Wednesdays , plus the whole shop atmosphere was a good vibe overall, definitely will be back !

My daughter and I wanted to get a tattoo to remember my husband because he passed recently. I called Golden Phoenix and was connected with Orlando right away. A week later we were getting our tattoos. He did an amazing job capturing what we wanted. The place was extremely clean and sanitary. Everyone was friendly and loved sharing their work. This was our first tattoo and it was such an awesome experience. I cannot wait to get another one at Golden Phoenix!

Josh Sword did my galaxy tattoo. Hes super detailed, skilled, and friendly. He made sure I knew how to take care of it while it healed (Ive never had the type of covering they use) and he spent extra time coming up with ideas from a very basic picture I sent him. 10/10, will get more from him (he works in 3 locations, worth the drive to any of them).

Beautiful shop, and every artist is amazing. I got an arm piece to cover up some scars by Jayden. He worked fast and clean, and he was super helpful with info for the aftercare! His work is gorgeous and i can’t wait to see even more of his progress! All the other artists were so sweet and welcoming too. I would a recommend this shop a thousand times over!!

Christian did an amazing job on wedding band tattoos for me and my husband. Hes the absolute best and took his time designing the perfect tattoos. We will definitely being going back to him for future tattoos.

I made an appointment for myself and 2 friends for lobe piercings. Brandie was the piercer and she was AMAZING. My friend had a special case where she had a split in one lobe and she was able to make it work for her. She was extremely professional, nice, informative, and careful. We all left amazed and happy. The facility is clean and organized. GOLDEN PHOENIX IS THE BEST. I cant speak for any other piercers because this was our first time, but Brandie was THE BOMB. 10/10 always will recommend.

Got to come shadow Josh for a day and it was a fantastic experience! The staff were all super friendly, the place looks clean and inviting, and the artists are great!Cant wait to save up to book a session with Josh!

Just had my latest tattoo done here last night with apprentice Grant and I absolutely love it! My husband also had one done by apprentice Jayden and is also very pleased. These are not our first tattoos either. Very clean place and everyone was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend and will be back!

Josh Swords is the best color artist Ive seen in town! Wouldnt trust anyone else!

Everyone there is super nice and really talented. I had Lillie and she was an apprentice but the work she did youd never be able to tell. Her line work and shading are seriously some of the most impressive Ive seen and probably the best I have on my body. She put in some really good color too and I asked her for some pretty tough colors as well. All in all Im very pleased with my tattoo and the whole experience I had and will be returning for my next one. Thanks again to everyone there!

I got my very first tattoo here (just yesterday!) and I am thrilled with the result. I scheduled with Amiti about a month or so ago - she was very kind from the beginning. I was incredibly nervous about everything but Amiti made me feel very comfortable. She was also easy to talk to & patient with all of my newbie questions, lol. You can tell she truly enjoys what she’s doing - and her talent is phenomenal! The space itself was clean, open, and not at all intimidating. I highly recommend this location. I may get additional ink in the future and would love to work with Amiti again.

Christian did my daughters nose piercing back in July. Night before last she had a issue and it came out. We could not get back in for anything. Went today and not only did he remember her, he stopped what he was doing to put it back. A true professional and amazing customer service. High recommend him.

Awesome tattoo studio! Jonathan and Amiti did great on my sister and Is tattoos. We went in for walk ins for some small, fine line tattoos. They were both really patient and made us feel comfortable. Jonathan is an apprentice and was very open and honest about his abilities and any questions or concerns we had. They both did some of the straightest lines Ive ever seen on a tattoo. A little bit pricey but thats what you get with great tattoo artists. Will definitely be back.

Seriously walked in and waited for like 15 minutes. Got no response from two male artists who could have asked me if I needed any help or what I wanted to get . Nope just pretended like I was wasn’t there super poor customer service.

Im so happy with my new tattoo by Josh Swords! The atmosphere was great and everyone made me feel comfortable as a new client. Josh was very detailed and mindful of my wants, and worked out his entire thought process with me as he went. The folks here obviously care about the work they do and it shows in their interactions and attitudes. I cant wait to work with Josh again on another arm piece. Snag this guy while hes up and coming, cause hes gonna do cool things!

Lillie did my tattoo and was absolutely amazing ! I have not had one done in over 15Years and was very nervous . She put me at ease and took good care . The artwork is almost healed and looks everything like I wanted it to ! The young lady is talented and has an amazing future in the business ! I’m already deciding on my next and would love for her to do my next one !

Awesome place, the people really do care about your safety. I went in for a helix piercing and she checked for veins and when she figured out it wouldnt work, she offered alternatives. Ended up leaving with a conch piercing and Im very happy with it. Thank you so much for such a great experience. Definitely will come back for any future piercings.

Great people, great vibe, and amazing artists. I 100% recommend Elgin, he was done tattooing in about 30 minutes tops, and I was a walk-in who came close to 7. They are amazing definitely coming back!

This is where I get all my art work done, and wouldn’t use anyone else. They do great work very awesome and great people to be around as well as still very personal. I personally get tattooed by Jason west who in my opinion is one of the best artist around the area and as well as his other artist. I will always recommend and do to everyone I talk to or who asks about my work. There very understanding and gets everything I’ve asked for or wanted perfectly the way I want and even more than expected.

I got my ears pierced by Brandie a month ago and I havent had any issues with infection or healing (She was very hygiene conscious!) Brandi did an amazing job and the process was easy.  Will be back for future piercing needs!

Orlando is AMAZING and fun to work with, too. Back in June, he worked his magic on my ankle in the form of a Sunflower. It was my very first tattoo ever! He and Golden Phoenix are awesome! Highly recommend Orlando!

I got a gorgeous tattoo from Amiti. Its absolutely perfect--better than I could have imagined! The studio is clean, spacious, and attractive and the artists do their absolute best to make sure youre comfortable and well cared for through every step of the process. Amiti is a wizard! She has incredible attention to detail and is a true artist. I couldnt be happier.
