Black Sapphire Tattoo

Went in one day after work and got my nose pierced. Super fast and quick.Whilst I was there, I booked an appointment to get a tattoo done by John, and a few weeks later, went in, got it done. Love the tattoo, love the piercing. Definitely going to be going back.Love the people that work there, definitely my kind of people.

Got two piercings with Justice. She was so nice and supportive. She gave me expert advice and explained everything to a complete newbie. Shop is clean and gives off a fantastic vibe. I will be back for tattoos as well. Highly recommend.

Amber is so nice!! My experience was so good. It was my first tattoo and I felt super comfortable and relaxed. She made sure every few minutes that I was okay(: my tattoo was on my right forearm ( 4 1/2 inches) and it didn’t hurt too bad, like a 4/10 and was 50$ which is a good price!

This tattoo shop is the only place we come for tattoos now. Karly’s artwork is incredible and her ability to shoot the breeze while creating breathtaking tats makes the experience a joyous occasion every single time. Karly and her friends at the shop have been so welcoming and accommodating to my cousin with disabilities. Karly is a master of her craft but she’s way too humble to market herself so I took to this review to try to get out the word that she is incredible.

Received the crappiest set of dahlia piercings ever. Piercer admitted to not knowing how to do them and had pierced them extremely crooked and hit my teeth.I’d go anywhere else for a quality piercing. Other shops were amazed at how poor these were done.Can’t believe the owner does coke and buys it from some clients they have there.On top of it their tattoo my friend had done hardly lasted as their latest artists are still learning and it appears even after years of them being opened they are still charging lots of money for tacky cheap designs. Lots of mistakes with black sapphire. Highly recommend going anywhere else for services.

I saw a post where Amber was doing a special this month and I looked over her work and thought heck yeah. OMFG SHE DID SO GOOD, her hand was light I barely even felt it, she was very professional and honestly I already emailed her to book another one. Definitely recommend! What a great shop.

Stopped in after work for their $30 flash tattoo event! I was grateful that John was available when I walked in. He was great to work with, fun, and personable. This is the second tattoo I have gotten done by John at Black Sapphire and I will definitely be back for more!

Karly has magical skills! Ive had several tattoo sessions with her since discovering her in November. I swear she can literally see the vision inside my head. Every tattoo has come out better than imagined. Ive found my artist who is perfect for my canvas.

My husband and I lost our first dog and wanted his paw print tattooed so he’s always with us. Carly did both of us the same day and was amazing! She taped the life size photo of the clay paw print to the chair and meticulously got every hair and dot of the print. The place was also very clean. Will 100% come back for our next tattoos.

Anthony is the best. He knows his stuff and how to fix bad work. I went in there to see what could be done with a cover up that turned out bad. With his knowledge and expertise he totally nailed it. Everyone there is so knowledgable and friendly , they make you feel welcome. I attached the before and after photos.

Delaney made my vision come true. She was great to work with. All staff were friendly and inviting. Clean, sanitary environment. Overall very happy & look forward to returning.Highly recommend.

Great people and great at what they do! Super respectful and kind. I have to get my piercings out every 6 months for an MRI, it takes all but 1 minute and they are inclusive and friendly all the same. Once I work up the courage to come get a tattoo as well this is where I will come.Highly recommend!!

Ive been coming here for a while and I absolutely love them. Everyone there is so nice and welcoming and they do absolutely amazing work. Karly is beyond awesome! She did an amazing cover up job for me on a tattoo that I absolutely hated. She turned it in to something beautiful and even squeezed me in so that the tattoo was ready for my wedding day.

Got two tattoos done by Kay and they both are amazing!! By far the best tattoo experience I’ve had; she made me feel so comfortable and the end product is exactly what I envisioned but also exceeded my expectations. Will definitely be going to her from now on for all my tattoos!

Awhile back Sam pierced both the top part of my ears and she was amazing the whole time. I even ask her if she could help me get my nose ring back in because I lost my piercing for it. She helped me with that and got me a new piece of jewelry that would not make my skin have horrible reaction (with no cost beside the new jewelry). I would recommend this business highly.

I have been coming to this shop for over a year now and I absolutely love their service, Samantha is an amazing piercer who matched my nose piercings up perfectly and also has super cute piercing options! I usually get tattooed by Karly and she also does an amazing job as well she has done most of my tattoos and rocked every single one! I will never stop coming to this shop it’s my go to tattoo and piercing shop!

I was piecred by Sam and it was so great! She did my septum and walked me through the process and it was quick and informative. After my healing process I wore the wrong gauge jewelry at no fault to her and accidentally shrunk my piercing and she stretched it for me back to a 14. Shes constantly having sales and shes super friendly and kind. Shes very comfortable to be around.

Samantha did a surface anchor on my face and it was easily the best piercing experience Ive ever had. She is very knowledgeable, very kind and patient with clients. Cant suggest her enough for piercings, easily one of the best piercing professionals in all of Wisconsin.

I just got my septum pierced by Justice for my birthday and it was amazing. She’s so sweet and reassuring. I heavily suggest her!!! I will definitely be coming back in the future and I hope to see her again!

I’ve gotten many piercings from Samantha. Double nose, septum, and conch. She kept a very clean & sanitized work space. She is very helpful and answered all my questions. She even helped calm me down when I was nervous as heck to get my septum. She has lots of variety of jewelry to choose as well. 10 out of 10, will always go to Samantha!!

I got my nose pierced here for a sale. $30 piercings. The piercer was nice but didn’t really do a good job of matching my piercings up with each other. They are way offfff and it’s quite noticeable. Taking a star away because it was cash only and crooked piercing — and it didn’t match up with my other piercing :(

It was great! This was the only place in town that I could get an appointment at right away. Atmosphere was great, price was good, and the person who did my piercings for me was so cool and clearly very competent. I’d trust her to put new holes in my face any day.

Great fun environment. All the artists are very willing to work with what design you have in mind. As well as they are very experienced and can help you figure out the best way to do a design.

I called to get my nose stud swapped out for a nose ring hoop and they were able to get me in right away. Samantha (piercer) swapped it out and she was so kind and got everything done very fast. She was very attentive and took her time to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. Good prices too!

I had a great experience here with my first two tattoos. Done by Gianna, a very friendly and professional employee. It is a lovely calm and laid back environment, I was offered water and blankets.. so kind. I will most definitely be returning here and that you Gianna for my beautiful tattoos!!

Made a tattoo appointment a couple weeks ago. Came in for my appointment at 3pm, was told by the tattoo artist that she was running 30 minutes late. I decided to sit and wait for her to finish. 30 minutes go by and I can see that she’s still working on her client. I’m thinking maybe she’s almost done. Nope. 15-20 more minutes goes by, still working on her client. At this point I’m getting super irritated, almost decided to just walk out and leave. Finally 4 o’clock comes, and she’s finally done. A whole hour after my appointment time! I ended saying I had to leave anyway and did not get a tattoo. If you’re running that far behind on appointments, maybe contact your clients and say that and not let them wait a whole hour and act like it’s no big deal! It was so ridiculous!

They have the best staff, fair pricing, and amazing atmosphere. Karly has done 2 tattoos on me (as of today) and I am blown away by the talent she has. I am obsessed with the art she has given me. I have 4 tattoos total and wish I would have found this place 2 years ago. I love this place and will be recomending it to my friends. Thank you guys so much! I hope to get more work done soon!

I have many tattoos, with that being said I have never had a problem with any of them until i left this establishment. Upon leaving my tattoo was beyond normal swelling. Day two still abnormal swelling, went to the ER very infected and i now have a huge hole in the tattoo! 10/10 Dont recommend. Also reported to health department!

Samantha (the piercer) is, hands down, the most amazing and attentive piercer I’ve ever had the pleasure of letting put pretty piercings in my face! I’d recommend her to literally anyone and everyone I’ll ever meet.

Karly and Anthony are the best and the atmosphere is so chill! All we did was crack jokes and talk stuff. It was my daughter’s first tattoo and she’s now addicted. Karly did exactly what she wanted and listened to her to give her the tattoo she had envisioned. They will definitely get our business!!!!

I came in about 3 months ago to grab a 30 dollar tattoo and ever since the first experience Ive been hooked. When I started coming to this shop I had 2 tattoos, three months later I have 9 and a new piercing all done by this wonderful shop. Gotta recommend Anthony & Karly, this is now my forever shop.

Gianna was very fun and welcoming. They were as excited about my silly idea as I was. 5 stars for Gianna! I gave 3 stars because of the atmosphere of the shop. One of the employees (I think?) wasnt working but was lounging on the waiting area couch, without shoes on. Barefoot. I went to sit beside them but noticed the feet and ended up sitting elsewhere. The same employee was lamenting that the shop needs to get a midget. They wanted to get a little person as a prop I guess? It was uncomfortable to hear this as the term was repeated several times. I stopped listening after that and played on my phone. :(

After waiting for an hour I ended up leaving with no tattoo. None of the staff were wearing masks, and they were not enforcing masks on their customers. The store was much too crowded and social distancing was not possible. The stores method of paperwork was a communal clipboard with one pen. My appointment time was a suggestion at best. I absolutely did not feel safe here and I am glad I didn’t get the tattoo. There are many other tattoo shops in Madison that are following protocols correctly, go there instead.

Got tattooed with Gianna, and she was fabulous! She is an apprentice, so the art was cheaper, but the quality was fabulous! I went back and got a second tattoo I was so impressed. She is honing a great talent, and I cant wait to see how she continues to grow!

They had a $30 deal on piercing today. Brandon was beyond anything I could hope for in a piercer. He was friendly, professional and warm. My daughter went and after speaking with the artist multiple times and showing him pix of what she wanted, he decided that she didn’t really know what she wanted. So he thought it a good idea to change her design and put on what she told him she DID NOTwant. To bad she WAS a great customer.

Tried to set up appointment via email with 3 different staff members over the span of a month. Most of the time it took 3+ days to get each reply and once an appointment was finally offered to me and I accepted I never got verification of the appointment. So I tried to call 4 times the day before and nobody answered the phone and there is no voicemail system. Called the time of my appointment to see if I was scheduled (after taking the day off of work for the appointment) and was told that yes it was scheduled but the artist the put me with does not come in until 4 pm. They made my appointment for noon. So- the appointment I had did not in fact have an artist to help me. Whoever I talked with said they would figure out another opening that day and call me back because it was their scheduling mistake. I never got a call back and at this point didn’t care enough to continue to harass the staff about taking my service. I was so excited to come here for a very important tattoo after I’ve loved all my piercings, but the run around and completely unprofessional interaction I had with them this time means that I will be going somewhere else.

Went in Tuesday to get my tongue pierced and not only is it completely crooked but I now don’t have feeling on the left side of my tongue. I’ve had my tongue peirced before there’s literally 2 marks on my tongue all she had to do was look and see where to pierce. 6 months of piercing isn’t long enough to be doing vital parts of peoples bodies. Soo now I’m out $60 and half a tongue.

Truly a wonderful place to get ink! I’ve been to so many tattoo shops and this one takes the cake. It’s clean, professional and the artists are truly amazing at what they do! I just had someone change 3 earrings that I couldn’t get myself. I’m disappointed because they only showed me one of the earrings to approve before putting them all in. It wouldn’t be so upsetting if it didn’t cost $70. I wouldn’t be disappointed at the cost if they had showed me what they were doing and gave me options.

Went here with my friend for nipple and industrial peircings. Peircer said she wouldnt put an industrial bar for my friend instead she put horseshoes in and she could come back for the bar. We had another shop look at it and not only was the peircing the wrong gauge for an industrial bar but the bottom peircing was not in a location of any known peircing. Charged us both $100. Didnt check our IDs. Would give negative stars if I could. Dont go here.
