I had a very good experience here. I felt very comfortable the whole time, I even had to take off my clothes at times but I never felt uncomfortable! Juan took a lot of time for me and if something wasnt right with the placement, he helped me to improve it. The tattoos turned out so beautiful!

I got two tattoos today by Juan and what a great experience. I came with photos of what I wanted and he took his time working with me to modify them and make them perfect for my body and personal style. I drove an hour to come here from the Washington DC area and it was totally worth it. Juan was professional, patient, and an excellent tattoo artist. This was my second visit to visionaries and Phil was amazing as ever, he is very personable with his clientele, his art work speaks for itself. Phil was absolutely incredible. From the consultation, he was so easy and friendly to talk to. And even on day of, he sat and asked me lots of questions and thought long term about everything. He asked my opinion on each little thing about my tattoo, and didn’t start tattooing until he made sure I was 100% satisfied with the outline and the placement. The whole thing was quick and painless, and he has such an amazing personality. He was telling us stories the whole time, and my husband and I were laughing and having a fantastic experience. My tattoo is absolutely beautiful, his line work is so detailed and well done, and I’m definitely going back to him for my work in the future. I have never had a bad experience. Phil has done 3 of my tattoos and the latest he took my inputs and drew an original piece that represents everything I asked for. He was quick, the conversation was lively and the other folks, reception, artists, interested parties and management made for an enjoyable experience. And the girl who took the photos seemed very good to me, since she took some photos of the tattoo of various angles and real photos which I liked very much, in conclusion I left very happy from there. I can also say that I liked the facilities and the order they have.

Juan was my tattoo artist, and I got a lower abdominal tattoo. This was my first tattoo and he was very open about the whole process from stencils to different needles to the aftercare of the tattoo. He was also very funny and we had entertaining conversations throughout the appointment.

This was my first time going to Visionaries and I had a great experience. When I first came in for my consultation with Phil, the manager, Kaylee, was welcoming and professional. Phil was open to hearing my ideas and I was able to be scheduled for my tattoo quickly. He is extremely attentive to detail and I felt comfortable during the entire tattoo process. The store manager, Aaron, clearly cares about his clients and the whole place is very clean.

I researched for a couple of years to find exactly what I wanted in a tattoo and tattoo artist. I decided on a large scale, black and grey, photo realistic tiger with Kanji lettering. The piece was a 12 hour tattoo that covered my entire thigh. It was my first tattoo and I was nervous. I discovered Aaron Garcia by word of mouth. He came highly recommended. I reviewed his work on Instagram and was very impressed. We had a consultation and I was sold. He was very in tune with what I wanted and how important this tattoo was to me. We had 2 sessions and at the end, I walked away with the most amazing piece of artwork. I feel honored to wear such a beautiful piece of artistry. He made the experience great and I will go back to him for my next one. Friends, family and strangers alike are overwhelmed by his talent and I couldn’t be prouder to wear it. Thank you, Aaron. I had a great experience getting a helix piercing at Visionaries. Miracle talked me through the whole process and throughly explained the aftercare!

Everyone was nice and positive when we walked in last minute. Super professional. Coming from another state is always awkward but they made us feel right at home! No weird conversations like a lot of shops back home (small talk). Im not good at that lol. If we ever have to come back we will definitely stopping back in for more. Kaylie did a sister\brother tattoo for me. Took her time, was patient with our indecision on placement, let us move the stencil multiple times, and then knocked the line work and shading out of the park. Highly recommend.

Booking with Phil was so easy, after calling the shop and confirming my appointment with Phil he messaged me on instagram to confirm our date and even after I had to reschedule due to a conflict that came up, it took just a few seconds to swap my appointment around and get fit in somewhere else. He took the design inspo I sent to him and made it exactly what I wanted and took his time making sure they were exactly the right size and exactly where I wanted them to be. I found my way to Visionaries while on vacation with a friend, we had booked shortly before our vacation and weren’t expecting an opportunity to be open for us, we were very lucky in the fact that Phil had a last second opening! I do not say it lightly when I say this was the best experience I’ve EVER had at any tattoo studio. The environment was amazing, Phil’s energy and passion is incredible. He truly loves what he does and it shows in his work! I initially had scheduled my appointment for 2 tattoos, but I ended up with 3, and they’re all perfect. This experience was AMAZING. I worked with Ramiro who went above and beyond what I hoped for. Yesterday was my first time visiting Visionaries on Main because my local go-to artist, Justin, joined the team! I was very impressed by how bright, clean, and professional the space was. Justin has been my go-to artist for years since I moved back to the Northern VA area and there’s really nothing he cannot do. His specialty is American traditional but he is a till extremely skilled in a variety of styles—definitely one of the most versatile artists I’ve ever met. You’ll definitely be satisfied working with him :)

My artist was Phil, Phil was kind and understanding of what I wanted and helped me design and decide what would work on the tattoo. He was accommodating and polite during the session, the stories and just talking was a refreshing feeling that there are amazing people out there and have interesting stories to tell and share. We also talked with Kayla (I hope I got her name right) she too was very nice.The studio was clean and the vibe was welcoming.It may be a simple wrist tatto but the experience while getting it was one not to forgot.

The tattoo shop itself was great. Very clean and staff was polite and helpful. However, I don’t recommend the tattooer Scuba Steve.Scuba called me the day prior and asked if I could move my appontment back 2hrs early. I had no problem doing this, however, he showed up an hour and 15 mins late. He sat me down and after shaving my arm he said “I’ll be back in 5 mins”, but he instead disappeared for 30 mins while I sat in the tattoo chair. We didn’t end up getting started until 15 mins after my original appointment time.Throughout the session he was continuously distracted. He discussed going out to lunch with his friends in the shop and that he would be done soon. I got the impression he was rushing to finish because he was more interested in doing that instead. On two separate occasions he texted on his phone, neither of which included him changing his gloves afterwards.I told him several times that I wanted the piece to be dark with a thicker outline to match my other tattoos, but he didn’t seem to listen or care. I even brought the reference in that showed exactly how the line work should be. After just two months the outline is already blown out in several places and faded throughout. What I worry about the most is how it’ll hold up over time considering the amount of smearing and fading thats already taken place in two months. Normally I would just ask the tattooer for a touch up, but instead I’m going to pay to have it reworked by a someone who is professional and respects their clients time.That said, it took him two hours to finish the tattoo, but four and a half hours total at the shop. When I came time to pay I was billed for two hours but he didn’t deduct the deposit, so I ended up paying for nearly 3hrs.Overall, I rate the shop a 4/5, and Scuba a 2/5. Clearly he’s a talented artist based on his body of work. However, my first and last experience with Scuba gave me the impression that he feels like he doesn’t need to continue working hard and putting forth the effort that keeps him booked two months in advance. I think the tattoo would have turned out great if he tried harder. There’s far more to tattooing than just putting ink on skin, but at the end of the day it’s there permanently, just like the impression left by the artist.

Spent a half day with Phil getting him to help finish up a tattoo that another artist, at a different shop had started but I wasn’t happy with. Phil was professional, friendly, patient and his work is really amazing. While he’s overall great, if you need any fine line, single needle work, I don’t know of anyone else in the area that’s as precise and works in such fine details as Phil does.Overall the shop was comfortable, kept impeccably clean and constantly disinfected and just overall was a great experience.

Have been here three times, tattooed by Isaias aka Shadow (who has now moved) and Phil twice. I’ve had amazing experiences all three times and will continue to come back. Shop is professional and has some real talented artists. Tattoos are pictured: Isaias did the snake tattoo and Phil did the sternum and additional flowers.

I tried to get a tattoo here done by Phil. He’s nice, talented from what you can see from his portfolio. Hence wanting to work with him. Contacted him in July, set up a consult to go over a big piece I wanted to start. Paid deposit, went in to the shop in person and talked about the piece. Schedule appointment for September.A couple weeks go by and I had to schedule surgery in August unexpectedly. I told him that I wanted to keep my appointment, but do a different piece because of comfort from surgery. He was understanding and fine with this. Talked about concept for new piece, and then he said he would get back to me.Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, I message Phil directly on IG asking if I can move my appointment due to infection and not wanting to risk tattoo integrity. I had no response. I emailed the shop, twice, no response.Phil finally gets in touch with me 3 days before my appointment, and then sees my messages. He quickly informs me that he thinks it’s best I reschedule (duh) but he’s booking into November and December. No problem, I understand. I ask when I can get back into his books because I’ve paid my deposit. No response! But he could for sure fill in my appointment with a new client within 30 minutes, post about it, and then post daily on IG. Cool.It’s been more than a week and neither Phil or the shop have responded. They can keep my deposit. The arrogance and unprofessional attitude isn’t worth it imo. There are artists just as nice, and just as talented, who can actually respond to their clients and respect their time. The shop should invest in someone who actually responds to client emails in a timely fashion.

I really wanted to avoid this but at this point I can’t care. Please do not book with Steve. It’s just not worth it. He’s done 3 of my tattoos and at this point I wish I had just gone entirely elsewhere. The tattoos look good, but he has practically 0 professionalism in a job field where you must be extremely communicative. Late every appointment. He dodges replies for months and leads you to believe he will contact you soon, it takes honestly about a year to finally get in and waiting months to get replies about what he has previously told you. The most important fact is that he PLAGIARIZED one of my tattoos. I gave reference photos and explained what I wanted and months later I found my exact tattoo with maybe 2 differences (coloring and small detail). I was not informed of this reference at all and was under the impression it was original. When confronted about this he denied it saying he saw a “print” of the design and that he altered it. I was offered a refund, instead I asked for the amount of the tattoo to be applied to future sessions IF he was comfortable with it. The tattoo had cost $500. He agreed, and I was booked for two small tattoos. Keep in mind, I had already been trying to book for a year. He only had urgency when I had caught him copying tattoos. He found a time slot for me and only had one tattoo prepared. He charged me half price, ($150, meaning the actual cost would’ve been $300, but I have a larger more detailed piece done by him for $250), and said he would contact me to schedule in 1-2 weeks for the other small tattoo, at no cost. I have now waited another month with no response. I will be going somewhere else from now on. Sad because he’s a talented artist, but very outwardly arrogant and not caring towards his client. Wish I wasn’t covered in his work. Attached is the original tattoo (instagram post) and then my tattoo second.

Visionaries is the best tattoo shop in the area. As soon as you walk in you’re greeted by everyone , such a welcoming environment. Everyone was super down to earth. I’ve been tattooed by Aaron Gracia and Colton Branch, both artist did a great job of putting my ideas into art. I will definitely be going back. The shop was clean and all of the artists were extremely nice, each artist has their own personal style I love that there’s variety. I honestly wouldn’t get tattooed anywhere else. Check them out!!!

My friend and I went here to get a tattoo after scheduling an appointment, they asked me to go first which I thought was strange, then after doing mine and charging me, took 1 hour to get ready for my friend next. After returning back, then say they can’t do hers and she would either have to wait until November or change her tattoo. Then they gave her a refund for her deposit and we left. IF YOURE UNABLE TO DO A TATTOO SAY THAT BEFORE THEY SHOW UP BEFORE THEIR APPOINTMENT.

Have gotten multiple tattoos from Steve and love all of them. The shop is a great space and super clean and professional feeling. Only thing is Steve’s communication at times is difficult, have been left on read a lot or just not answered for weeks. Chill dude though with great tattoo skills.

Came on 12/9/21 for a hand snake tattoo. Took the plastic off Sunday morning and i noticed an infection on my hand, red and bumps all over my hand. It has been a week and it has gotten worst. Im all tatted to my sleeves, legs and chest I know how to take care of a tattoo. Aaron said it was normal. no sir its not. Big mistake was allowing someone with a year experince doing my tatttoo. I pretty sure he used a dirty needle on me what else explain my hand tattoo infected? Very frustrated did not apolgize or refund me back my money. Not very professional. Thank you for messing up my tattoo and my hand. worst experince.
