Came here for my first tattoo after being highly recommended artist sara eve by a friend! Really happy with the whole experience! They made me feel super welcome and comfortable throughout the whole appointment. Great atmosphere, great artwork, and a stellar artist. Will definitely be back for more work in the future

I had a fantastic experience with Sara Eve designing and executing my tattoo featuring flowers and some of my favorite pollinators. The design was beautiful. The execution is very well done. The experience of being in her chair for four hours was great. She checked in on my comfort many times, and we had a good time chatting while she worked.Beyond my tattoo, Sara Eve has worked to build a ship with an inclusive culture so that it is a welcoming place for all.I would recommend PMA Tattoo and Sara Eve without reservation, and Ill likely return myself for more tattoos!

All of the staff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome. The shop is very clean. SaraEve is absolutely amazing. She’s very talented and truly cares about your experience. She makes you feel like you truly matter as a customer. She takes her time with you and I will definitely be going back! I went to her for a cover-up on a tattoo I got 20 years ago. I gave her ideas of what I wanted and saw the design the day I went, it was perfect! I get so many compliments on it

Ive been getting tattooed by the folks in this shop for a few years now and have nothing but great things to say. Everyone in the shop is so talented, welcoming, professional, and just great people all around! I always have a fantastic time with the artists here and have always left with a smile and a sick new tattoo. No matter what you are looking to get, the artists here got you covered. PMA is by far one of the best shops in the Pittsburgh area and I couldnt recommend them enough!

Sara Eve is such an awesome person and tattoo artist! This was my second tattoo by Sara, my first being a coverup and my second adding to the original. Such an inviting space and comfortable environment to be in for a few hours. Sara makes you feel welcome and let’s you guide the entire process. Extremely organized and detail oriented, which I love. The work Sara does is excellent and I’m grateful to be a client!

My girlfriends and I spent an awesome day with Dirty Donovan. I got a matching tattoo that my 3 friends already had and Din nailed it on the first try from a picture of one of the existing tattoos. Then we added a new part to the image and Done did an excellent job working with us to get it just right. I highly recommend Don and PMA. We also got to see Jay do some beautiful work as well. It was a great day!

Had my first shop tattoo just done here! I was nervous about going to a shop but I had an absolutely wonderful experience with their artist, Violet.The shop was everything I could ask for out of a tattoo experience. Very clean and calming. And Violet was an absolute delight to work with. Shes extremely gifted and patient with her clients and has the lightest hand in the biz. If youre looking for a change from gruff and uppity traditional artists, shes your gal. She does the most beautiful shading and designs and youll get treated like a princess the whole time.I cant wait to come back for more art.

Sara Eve was fantastic! I had Sara cover up a tattoo for me that resembled something from a past relationship. The design is beautiful and it covered so well! I felt completely comfortable the whole time. Definitely worth the 2 hour drive! I will return for more!

The salon is welcoming and eclectic. Sara Eve created my tattoo just by my description and she was spot on. I’m so happy… this was a long time coming. It honors my late chihuahua, Nunny. It’s my second tattoo at PMA and definitely won’t be my last!

I cannot speak highly enough of Sara Eve and PMA! The shop is bright and clean and the artists themselves are really kind. I went in for a coverup, and walked out way happier than I expected to be. The amount of detail, shading, and bursts of color Sara was able to achieve wildly surpassed what I thought was possible. This is absolutely the place to go for any tattoo work!

Sara Eve is not only a talented artist and tattooist, she is also a wonderful human with excellent music taste. From the moment I entered her beautiful shop I was treated with kindness and respect. Sara was willing to work with my special request to design something bright and floral to go along with my existing dinosaur tattoo. She added gingko leaves to the design since they date back to the Jurassic era. She did research!!! I wasn’t convinced I wanted any more tattoos but I love Sara Eve’s work so much I’ll definitely be back. PMA vibes really are the best!

I truly love PMA. Ive been a customer since 2019; all of my tattoos were done within the walls of that shop, and Ill be a customer for life! The artists are so talented and have such unique and diverse styles, you can truly find something for everyone! My goal is to be tattooed by every artist in the shop :)

I’ve gotten tattooed at quite a few shops and I have to say PMA is my absolutely favorite. They are so welcoming and genuine. If you are nervous about getting tattooed they put you at ease by telling you everything to expect every step of the way. I cannot recommend them enough! Very queer friendly too! You cannot go wrong with PMA. Go get zapped!!! 😏

Hands down my favorite tattoo shop in Pittsburgh! Sara Eve is an amazing artist and getting tattooed by her is a wonderful experience. All of my tattoos from her are awesome! And she is really concerned with the comfort of her clients while they are getting tattooed. The vibe of the shop is great which is why Ive been coming to her for years.

I got a flash piece done with Donovan and truly one of the best tattoo experiences i’ve had! he was flexible with scheduling when i couldn’t make it on flash day and got me in for my bday instead, meticulous with placing the stencil and making sure we had everything in a good position and didn’t make me feel like an inconvenience when i wanted to reposition (which i’ve had happen at other shops). gentle af (as gentle as you can be with a needle anyway), super personable and friendly, fabulous vibes all around. 10/10 recommend everyone in this shop and Dirty Don especially!!!

Ive been tattooed by both Jay and Sara Eve here and had wonderful experiences with both artists. Sara does excellent floral/botanical tattoos and is a cover-up genius, and Jays animal tattoos are always amazing. All 3 tattoos I have from Jay have healed easily and beautifully. Both artists were easy to communicate with, and I felt understood what I was looking for. I really appreciate the atmosphere of the shop - its very welcoming and clean and aesthetically pleasing. Everyone at PMA has been nothing but professional and kind. Highly recommended

Sara Eve took great consideration for my peace of mind throughout the entire tattooing process. They were doing a coverup in a spot close to my head so they made sure I was always comfortable. They also had plenty of snacks at the shop for when I had a blood sugar drop, and was able to sit for the entire coverup. I definitely recommend PMA as a shop and especially Sara Eve as an artist.

I’ve visited PMA a couple of times now to be tattooed by Sara Eve. It’s the best tattoo experience I have had, and it makes me want to return over and over! The shop atmosphere is incredibly chill and positive, and the vibe makes for a relaxed tattoo experience. It’s clean, well cared for, and the shop owner has done a stellar job at implementing COVID safety measures. You can tell she cares so much about her business AND her clients. Sara Eve is a very talented artist who I trust completely. She is also a skilled tattooer. The work she has done for me has healed better and easier than other work I’ve had done. Had the absolute PLEASURE of being tattooed here by Terrell. The shop was clean, fun, and overall a safe space. They went out of their way to put curtains up so no one else could see me while I had my shirt off. Terrell is not only just an amazingly kind human, but so talented. Jay did a memorial piece for my cat and I love it so much. They were so detail-oriented, made me feel comfortable and in good hands, and the tattoo turned out absolutely amazing. Along with Jay, Donovan and Sara Eve were in the shop working and it was just a really fun relaxing vibe! Definitely recommend Jay and the shop!

I don’t know if there are enough nice things to say about PMA and their artists. Sara Eve designed a beautiful quarter sleeve coverup for me. Even though i will need additional sessions to complete, for the first time in two years I’m proud to show off my arm. The shop has a very relaxed vibe and everyone is interesting, friendly, and supportive. Even the other clients were cheering on during my session! Thank you PMA and Sara Eve!

Sara Eve is such a fantastic artist and all-around human. It is such an honor to be their client. They thoughtfully worked with me to create such a meaningful tattoo and because I had such an amazing experience I’ve decided to work with them on a full arm sleeve. Sara Eve has a light touch, practices trauma-informed methods (ie asks before touching, makes sure you’re ready, checks in frequently during the process, encourages open communication about any sensory/emotional accommodations), and creates a sacred atmosphere both environmentally and socially. What an absolute pleasure to work with beautiful human.

I have been tattooed here three times, twice by Theo (who no longer works at PMA but comes back fairly often for guest spots) and once by Donovan. The first two pieces were custom and the third was flash; I had a good experience with both. All of my times being tattooed at PMA have been great. I got my first tattoo there, and my artist made me feel very comfortable and explained the process very thoroughly. The atmosphere inside is very comfortable and pretty and they have things like water and candy. All of the staff were very friendly and its a very accepting environment. Even if you live in the city, its worth the commute.

Everyone from the owner, to all of the artists, are so friendly. They always create a clean, welcoming space for both novice and repeat customers. Terrell does amazing work.

Sara is amazing! She gently reworked an old tattoo that was in bad shape, and added on to it. I couldn’t be happier!! The tattoo is so beautiful!! And Sara is so welcoming and friendly and does everything to make you feel comfortable! The shop is fun and colorful and squeaky clean! Such a wonderful experience with an amazing result!!

Saras booking process was organized and easy. They created a zero pressure and respectful experience and did great work. They also have fostered a community environment in the shop where all are welcome.

I have been to PMA for several different tattoos, and have worked with two different artists. Every time it’s a pleasure to work with them and they truly use their talent and ability to bring your idea to life. I have been tattooed by Sara Eve three times. The first time it was for a coverup. I was turned away from two other tattoo artists stating that mine would be too difficult to cover and Id need to do laser removal first. The attached photo just proves that those guys were wrong. A smart, artistic mind can make things a reality, and my artist loves a good puzzle. Sara is not only talented, but she really hears her clients and what they need. I showed her a few pictures and left a deposit, and she climbed into my mind and created this beautiful piece of work that is now forever on me. She also created a beautiful piece for when my dog died, that I proudly wear on my inner bicep.I will be back in a week to have her coverup another tattoo on my foot, because shes just that good.To the person who left the negative review, she obviously doesnt understand PMAs policy. Its clearly listed on the emails as well as the website. Im not sure how she doesnt see that wanting to constantly change a design doesnt create more work for the artist, when they already poured hours into a design. Its okay if you dont like the design, but you do have to pay an artist for their work. ...stepping off my soap box.I stand behind Sara and followed her from Artisan to PMA. The shop is clean, inviting, and very well decorated. Shes patient, kind, and does a hell of a good job. You cant go wrong.

I got a beautiful coverup from Sara yesterday, and I am so happy it is insane. Definitely will be returning.

I have been getting tattooed by Sara Eve since 2018. She is one of the most professional tattoo artists I have met, and very talented. She makes sure that you are comfortable, and asks if you need to take any breaks. Seeing her for each session is like seeing an old friend I havent spoken to in a bit.The rest of the staff are amazing. They are super friendly, and professional. I always feel welcomed and at ease. They are great to talk to, vibrant and accepting.I have recommended several people to PMA Tattoo, and I will continue to do so.

In 2015, I received a tattoo by Sara Eve when she was working in a different shop. I have followed her work and career since then, and just a couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure to get another tattoo from her at PMA. Sara Eve is the consummate professional, and her artwork is truly beautiful. She takes the time to collaborate on the design details, but to be honest, it was pretty much perfect when I arrived in the shop— just discussed size and black/gray vs color. The shop was squeaky clean and following all health and safety protocols to the letter. It was clear that she did her best to minimize the pain involved, and she kept up fun conversation/distraction the whole time. I am absolutely thrilled with her work, and I cannot recommend PMA Tattoo enough. If there were more than 5 stars available as an option, she and the shop would receive all of them!

Sara took the time to discuss my cover up with me, and took me through some possible color choices for my new tattoo. Sara really takes the time to make sure you are happy with the design. She doesnt rush you through anything at all. My boyfriend was with me and the three of us chatted the whole time and shared some hilarious stories.Im completely over the moon with my new tattoo and how gorgeous it looks. I had my second ever tattoo done here, it was large and needed precise line work and on my ribs. Marisa was amazing to work with, she was very good at the up front discussion and had excellent bedside manner. The tattoo looks amazing and Ill update this review when the redness goes away.Will for sure recommend this place to my friends!

I first saw Saras work a few years back at an art show in the Strip District and immediately fell in love with it! Recently, I was walking from work back to my apartment and I caught glimpse of a new tattoo shop opening up, and it just happened to be Saras shop, PMA tattoo! I had been wanting to get a tattoo for a while, but Im a big scaredy-cat. Finally, I messaged PMA Tattoo and got a prompt response and a date and time to meet Sara at the shop! The shop is beautiful, welcoming, and comfortable and Sara is easily one of the nicest people Ive met! She answered all of my questions, was upfront about her shop policies, and was extremely courteous and easy to talk to. I just had my tattoo finished today and its beautiful! She was clean, focused, and didnt mind that I had to shake it out a couple of times. I would recommend PMA Tattoo a million times over!

The owner Sara is who I worked with. Shes very professional and just lovely. I felt very taken care of. She made sure the tattoo was well planned and she asked me several questions and made suggestions that made this tattoo exactly what I wanted. The shop is beautiful and seems to be very clean. I have had nothing but great experiences with PMA Tattoo and Sara Eve. She is the most attentive & friendly tattoo artist I have ever met. Both tattoos she has done for me were no easy feat. The first one a huge back cover up that took extensive hand drawing to make work with the existing design and the second, a really important, but small piece on my wrist that was incredibly meaningful to me and required a bit of rework to make it perfect and exactly the way I wanted it. -- She is SO professional, VERY sanitary and overall, just a great experience and fantastic artist. I HIGHLY recommend custom art and tattoos from Sara!

Marisa was awesome for my first tattoo experience! Sara was there as well and was super friendly and helpful. It was my first tattoo so I had a ton of questions but they answered all of them while making me feel relaxed and comfortable. I had a great visit and can’t wait to go back!

I returned to this shop to get my free touch up. Everything seemed very clean. My temp was checked when I walked in and I was given hand sanitizer. Sara was happy to make my tattoo exactly how I wanted it and she exceeded expectations. She asked a few times for me to check out my tattoo and let her know if I wanted anything else done. I will definitely be coming back to this shop.

Sara Eve did a wonderful job on my violin tattoo. She and her staff are incredibly sweet, professional, and easy to communicate with. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone and would come back if I ever got another tattoo.

My grrl Sara Eve is so friendly. She will listen to your opinion and will flex to your needs. She played my favorite jams which I appreciated. The location is great as parking is very reasonable. You can use the meters and they dont take much. Sara Eve often has guest artist come through. Check out the tattoo shop Instagram for her latest tattoo work so you know. She accepts credit cards and cash. Keep in mind she is very busy so even if you get the initial session soon the tattoo may be a couple months out for her. This is perfect personally as it gave me time to really perfect my new tattoo and morph it to something beautiful.

I have been lucky to have amazing tattoo artists as friends and to be tattooed by them for many years. When I moved to Pittsburgh I was looking for some new work and searched out artists in the area. Sara Eve met with me at a convenient location for both of us and we discussed my ideas (several) and narrowed down which piece to start with, costs and scheduling. She gave me a time frame for the drawing she would do of the piece and stayed on schedule. I loved the first piece she did so much, I scheduled for more! She has now down several pieces on me and I am in love with her unique artistic perspective, her amazing color work and depth, and generally just her kind and professional demeanor. She is a true artist and a kind soul. I care about that. Highly recommend her and her shop without reservation. And can I also mention how many people stop me all the time and ask who did my work? Yep. Im in Florida now and still handing out her business cards.

Sara Eve Rivera won my skin for life. She is the most creative, easiest-going, most relatable tattoo artist in my experience. She is thoughtful and caring and she aims to make your entire experience working with her enjoyable. I havent been to the new location yet, but Sara started work on me years ago, and to this day, theyre still my most complimented pieces. Im looking forward to getting on the contact list and schedule at the new place to continue working on a sleeve, and I will follow Sara wherever her journey takes her!

PMA came highly recommended to me as a great place to get my first tattoo.My husband, Kenneth, passed away a few months ago. Nixie Vly was able to help me create a beautiful tattoo, made up of Ken’s favorite flowers, to help me honor his memory. She helped me get through the process and was able to talk me through it to distract me from the pain.
