I have had 5 day sessions so far and the entire staff and all of the artist are very friendly. Derek is my guy and really talented. Highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I went here on a recommendation, great place!!! Very clean, professional and friendly. Keith was our artist, he is amazing at fine line detail. We both love our tattoos and will definitely return here for our next ones!!!

Thus place is AMAZING! I could not be happier with the end result. Matt was super easy to work with, and he made my first tattoo easy and seamless. He also NAILED the artwork!! I went in today for a redo of a tattoo I’ve had for 13 years. Keith groves knocked it out with a fantastic job. Truthfully looks better than when it was originally done. Very clean shop and super friendly atmosphere. Will absolutely be going back for any other work I want done!

Great experience, Ill go back no doubt. TJ at the front desk is one of the best when it comes to making you feel comfortable before any tattoo or piercing. I’m typically prone to feeling anxious doing things out of my comfort zone, but Black Diamond/Kim G(Special K) made me feel right at home. Everyone is so welcoming, helpful, & kind. I went to Special K for a flash deal & ended up returning to her for several other tattoos due to how amazing she is. I absolutely trust her talent & creativity. I have tortured her with multiple coverups and she kills it every time! Every artist at Black Diamond is professional, knowledgeable and their work is second to none. My friends and I had been talking about getting tattoos for years. When we were visiting from Memphis, we decided now is the time. It was kind of last minute, but they were able to get us in within a few hours. Matt did an incredible job and was so patient with us, when were were slightly indecisive. The establishment was extremely clean and everyone was so friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the Nashville/Murfreesboro area.

I love this place & my tattoo! I did my research & they came up A+. Great health exam & clean, calm environment. I wanted a simple memorial tattoo of my father on my left forearm & was not disappointed. Christian Mad Mulvey did mine & I was super impressed with his work. He was very nice & explained everything to me. Their prices are fair & the location is nice. I have suggested them to many friends & family already. Its been 13 years since my last tat & I was super nervous, but it was a very awesome & positive experience. There was a minimal amount of pain (which is strange for me) & it has been the best healing tattoo Ive ever had. He used a barrier film (meant for burn victims) on me & I had to leave it on for a few days. That was a new & welcome addition to the healing process! I would give them more than 5 stars if I could!

Special K has been awesome! I havent had a new tattoo in over 10 years and she has been great to work with. She was able to do a new piece for me that I love as well as revive an old piece and it turned out way better than the original! The studio is clean, private, and relaxing. Ive had several tattoos done here over the last couple of months by Donavin and Matt and have an upcoming appointment with Izak as well. Everyone that works here is amazing. Polite, friendly, insanely talented and professional. The shop itself is clean and has a great atmosphere. It feels like going to a friends house every time I come in. Cant say enough good things about this shop and the artists there. I love Black Diamond!

I was a little hesitant going to Matt because I did not know much about him and my friend had referred me too another at artist at Black Diamond that was booked up for months. Matt was also very helpful with the aftercare instructions making sure that I full understood everything so that my tattoo would heal properly. I would 100% trust Matt for my next tattoo.

Even though I wasnt able to get an appointment as soon as I would have liked the one I got was perfect. Derek did an amazing job even though he had no idea he was doing a cover up. That man put a plan into action and we got it done. He was patient good conversation I really enjoyed my experience. Mallory at the front was a great hostess while I waited!

Got my first Tattoo here for my Birthday! The experience was amazing. Definitely coming here again! Great atmosphere and stress free. Pain was minimal. Lucy was the best artist I’ve ever been to! She made me feel so comfortable and even put on a movie for me to watch in her room while she tattooed me. She also kept the conversation going and was very knowledgeable! I also liked that she was very considerate when she was tattooing, her technique was perfect and I didn’t feel any pain. Since finding Derek Ive stayed with him being my artist. With the exception of one done by Alli who is also an amazing artist. Hes always respectful and courteous. He handles every situation in a professional manner even when someone is disrepectful to him. He is the only artist Ive ever had that does exactly what I ask without twisting the art into what he wants done. The customer service, cleanliness, and entire atmosphere of the shop is amazing. I recommend this shop to anyone and to everyone who inquires about my tattoos.

This place is by far one of the most professional tattoo parlors that I have been to, stretching from the Midwest, East Coast, and the South. The artists here are just that Great Artist. They take pride in their work and their customer service is the best! The prices here are very reasonable for the experience and quality of work that youll get. I have been coming here for a few months getting a complete sleeve and plan on coming back after this one to work on the other arm. Expect to have a little wait when scheduling, but dont let that deter you. Youll be glad you waited once you see the amazing art they can create here.

What an amazing experience! Not only did Derek do amazing work, the level of service here is bar none. Atmosphere of a boutique shop: private and comfortable, not noisy and full of people like most experiences. Black Diamond is such a -pardon the pun- gem. The consultative process was the best I have ever received: Derek really took the time to listen to my ideas and worked with me to create an amazing piece I love.

Derrick got me and two buddies tattoos done on the same day. He was very nice and i felt super comfortable in the environment. Easily the best tattoo shop i’ve been too.

Isaac did an excellent job on my tattoo. Called about the possibility of a walk in as I was on my way back to Wisconsin and had a limited time frame, and Derek, the owner assured me that they could make it work and fit me in-arrived and was in the chair within 20 minutes. They were also very attentive to making sure I was happy with it throughout the entire process. Couldnt have been better service, thanks guys!

Kim is AMAZING! I love my tattoo. During the consultation, she made sure she understood what I wanted and made it a reality for me. We listened to great music while she tattooed me. She asked me regularly if I was comfortable and felt ok. It was a great experience!

Stop looking, this is the place. Both Alli and Derek are incredibly kind and welcoming, no stuck up tattoo studio vibe here. The building is clean and comfortable, and easy to get to. Alli has taken my request of a Van Gogh painting on my skin and made it happen. Not locked into just one style, she has been able to create a detailed painting unlike anything Ive ever seen. Ive seen the work that both of them do and it is just amazing.Do yourself a favor, stopping looking around and just go. You wont be disappointed!!

I recently got my first ever tattoo at Black Diamond; needless to say I was very nervous. Derek is VERY knowledgeable and put me at ease through the process. Derek has a degree in Art and was a great thinking partner when we were coming up with the final design. Black Diamond is the best place in Murfreesboro for you to Ink what’s in your heart onto your sleeve. I already scheduled my second tattoo.

This is far the best place youll ever want to go to get your tattoo. Derek is amazing. Hes a true artist, loves his work, listens to you and offers advice and then gives you exactly what you wanted and more. He is the best so dont waste your time going anywhere else.

Went there today to get a quote on a tattoo that another shop in town quoted me at $180. Then they quoted me here at $80 and was able to get me in right away to do the tattoo. Everyone was super friendly and the place was very clean Izak ended up doing my tattoo and even made a suggestion that made the tattoo better. I wanted the bottom half black like the logo but as he pointed out it would have blended in with the border which i never would have thought of. Im very pleased with the final product.

I went as a walk in, but called first. I spoke with Alli, who was super nice and friendly and she told me that they do accept walk-ins and to just come in and theyd either start right away or, if they were busy, then theyd set me up with the next available time. So I went. The shop is set up in a smaller, cottage-sized house and it gives the shop a very homey feel. Its also very clean and made me feel comfortable. Artwork all over the walls and a large comfy sofa and chair to sit in while you watch tv and wait. Derek greeted me immediately and talked with me about what I was planning on doing and when I wanted to do it. There was some confusion about whether they had an opening that day or not, but after I told him that I called and talked to Alli, he went back and talked with her and it was sorted out. He was in the middle of working on someone when I walked in and after the confusion was sorted out, he told me it would be about 45 minutes if I wanted to hang out until then. So I did, and I think he finished within 30. I had originally went in to get tattoos of constellations on two of my fingers but after talking with him, he explained that there is a lot of wear and tear on your fingers and that he would counsel against getting any there unless youre prepared to get them touched up quite often. I really appreciated his input because I hadnt thought of that aspect, and knowing myself, I opted to go with the tattoos in a different location. I was so worried that I would go somewhere and they would be the snobby artists that I had encountered in the past. The kind that make you feel like you are two inches tall and you should kiss their feet to have them work on you. But these guys were not that way at all! He (Derek), another guy (who I am assuming is his apprentice), and Alli were all SO nice. No snobbery whatsoever. They joked and laughed and were obviously completely themselves and that put me totally at ease. He did great work and constantly checked to make sure I liked the tattoo and we even discussed options for a cover up and some custom tattoos that I want. I relied on reviews to make my decision where to go so I was so glad that he and his shop lived up to the reviews. It was amazing and I will definitely be back soon for more!

So let me tell yall I’ve been found to Derek before he opened black diamond, I told him I wanted a Mother Nature tattoo to start on my sleeve and send him and outline of a woman holding a plant sprout. This man right here is a genius he went and turned what I wanted into a masterpiece, he added rain, stones, and flowers, he thought I wouldn’t like it but I’m absolutely in love with it, I still have to go back and get color because after 4 hours my arm was tired and he made sure he didn’t do to much to the point of I wouldn’t come back. This tattoo shop is amazing and I will forever go there to get my tats done!!

I had been to Derek previously before the shop opened. When my mom wanted to get her first tattoo the only place I called was Black Diamond. Unfortunately, Derek was booked but the other artist at the shop Alli had an opening for mom and I. And she did an amazing job!!! I highly recommend Black Diamond (either artist) to any friend looking into getting something done.

Very disappointed and after several attempts to reach out to the tattoo artist I finally gave up. Switched pricing after I was quoted. It went up $100 after I was done. Not a professional way to run a business. I dont appreciate the comment I wasnt there. Clearly Im leaving this review because I was.

Amazing job done by Derek. I had an idea of what I wanted. He took the time to listen and then made it come to life even better than I had envisioned after being told by another studio to come back when I knew what I wanted or had a picture they could follow. He also fixed and completed my husbands arm piece and its so much better than it ever was. (His was originally done by someone else years ago) The shop is nice and CLEAN! This is the place to go if you want not just a tattoo but a piece of art. Were already planning our next ones :)

Ali did a pocket watch and roses on my chest, that turned out amazing. This tattoo meant a great deal to me because it was honoring my father that passed two years ago. When I get my next tattoo it’ll definitely be done by Ali.

Incredible experience by an incredible artist. But then again, EVERY artist in this shop is high quality. You will not have a bad experience, working with this shop. They go above and beyond to give you the perfect piece of art.

Ive been to several other tattoo studios and this is by far the most talented and friendly place Ive been. She is AWESOME with conversation and even better on prices. Give her a chance and you wont be sorry.

They do good work. Very happy with my experience. Depending on your artist, you are probably looking at booking about 3-4 weeks out. Its worth the wait.

We had Kim do matching tattoos and she was very knowledgeable in what she was doing and was very patient with us!! Definitely looking foward to booking with her in the near future!

I unfortunately didn’t get the opportunity to even get inked at this place, I was hoping for a better experience than the other pretentious shops in the boro but they, just like most, were very rude, short, and quick to dismiss me. I understand it’s a busy industry where dealing with uneducated people is common but I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Derek is the man. He has done 4 family members tattoo and is the man to go to.
