We were walk in appointments and taken care of immediately !! The staff here were so sweet, talkative, and helpful. We both got tattooed by Chris, for an amazing price and experience :) ! $100 flat each, with quick and relatively painless applications. 100% recommend this shop.

A friend and I walked in shortly after opening on a Saturday to see if they had any availability. Receptionist was super helpful and set us up with Kane. He was able to help both of us out immediately. Very professional. Shop was spotless and welcoming. Will definitely be back.

Got some shading & dot work done recently with Kelsey & am obsessed. She really did a great job bringing my tattoo to life. The cleanliness & hospitality of the shop & its staff was so refreshing to walk into this morning. Highly recommend!!

I’ve been coming to this shop ever since they opened. Randy was my first artist and he did a beautiful black & grey realism sleeve. Matt has done many of my tattoos (mostly rubberhose cartoon style) and I’ll continue to book him. Arvin is an amazing artist and his work only gets better and better. All the artists make you feel comfortable and welcomed. This shop is my second home!

Ive been there nine times so far and will continue to go back. Lon is my main artist and he is excellent. Ive also had the pleasure of working with both Kelsey and Matt and they did an excellent job as well. Never disappoints.

My husband and I came and got Halloween Flash tattoos that were done efficiently and at a great price! So many great options to choose from, we both got a different artist and both of them were great! I was so happy with their customer service and work I booked an appointment for another tattoo that I had done today. Arvin exceeded my expectations and did a beautiful fine line lettering tattoo on my arm. He was so fast and did an amazing job. It looks better than I had even hoped for! I will come back for more.

This has to be one of the nicest tattoo shops Ive ever been to. Everyone is incredibly friendly and helpful. While getting tattooed, I saw other artists continuously taking time to assist anyone who walked through the door. The amount of care an effort the artists at Black Rose put into their work is undeniable!

Arvin was so great and patient with me during my tattoo session. He is very knowledgeable about his craft. He was so excited to do a memorial piece for my dad and he did it twice for me and my sister. Great experience, great staff and very clean. Would highly recommend Arvin and Black Rose and Dagger.

The majority of my tattoo’s were done here by Lon and had the BEST experience. From the start everyone was great and welcoming. I dont think Ive felt more relaxed while being tattooed than I was here and I definitely plan on coming back for more, I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

The staff were amazing! My particular artist, Arvin, did an amazing job! He made sure I was happy with the product idea before beginning my tattoo and spoke with me about a few ideas before we began, he checked on me throughout the process and made sure I was as comfortable as possible and even played some music of my choice to listen to while he did his magic. Seriously, I couldn’t imagine a better place to go to get a tattoo. The lines are clean, the shading is perfect and I am absolutely obsessed with the way the tattoo came out. The rest of the staff checked in from time to time and were so also great and just as enthusiastic as I was about the tattoo. Even putting the art work to the side, just the environment and the people around you go above and beyond. I will definitely be coming back for my next tattoo, even if it means I have to drive all the way from GA again lol. Can’t thank Arvin and the rest of the staff enough!

I took my mom to Black Rose & Dagger Tattoo to get her first tattoo and it was such a wonderful experience! I called to ask if they take walk-ins and they were more than happy to accommodate us. Everyone working there was extremely friendly and made my mom feel at ease. Lon was my moms tattoo artist and he really made my moms tattoo idea come to life! The tattoo looked so beautiful! I woke up saying I need a tattoo today. Black Rose was #2 on the list and they accepted walk ins so I had to make a run for it. Walked in and I was blown away by the aesthetics and how nice the staff were. Received assistance right away and from there greatness awaited. Shoutout to the dopest and realest artist out here! I have gotten two tattoos at this studio. Fun atmosphere laid back but still professional and VERY knowledgeable. The artist are very talented and they will take whatever amount of time is needed to answer your questions. I witnessed a phone call that was very lengthy, the customer on the phone wasnt even a client at this studio, and still Kelsey took the time to answer all her questions and give her sound advice and schedule a time for her to come in , in person and address the issue she was having. I highly recommend this place. The owners are fabulous people. You dont find many genuinely GOOD people anymore. If your a 1st timer I recommend you booking a consultation. You will be placed at ease and they arent afraid to turn away business if your expectations are unrealistic for what they can provide. Also tattoos are forever, dont be cheap. You get what you pay for. Remember tip your artist or piercer!

Randy did an amazing tribute piece for me. He was able to incorporate everything into a smaller tattoo for my forearm. It has healed nicely and I cant wait to go back for my next one.

This is where you want to go - I found them by tracking down Pu -who is the absolute BEST at piercings. I first came across him at Fuzion Ink on Granby Street in Norfolk years ago - which unfortunately had to close. Friends who want piercings I will always only send them to him.This was a fantastic find. These guys at BR&D are simply excellent on all accounts, highly skilled, professional and friendly. Randy is very well known and super skilled at tattoing but I ended up going with Matt who is completely awesome and meticulous. Matt did a perfect job of an elaborate tribal-ish back piece that took about 10 hours over several sessions. Spending that much time in a shop getting something extremely personal and important to you done on you... you pick up on how they are. All the stars for these guys. This is the place.

Highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone that is considering getting a tattoo. Kelsey was my artist and she was beyond amazing from start to finish. I originally tried getting a quote from another shop and they pushed me aside saying that my tattoo wasn’t “big enough to warrant an appointment and should just be a walk in.” I told Kelsey that since it was my first tattoo I wanted to make sure that I got exactly what I wanted without feeling rushed. Once we set up our consultation she went out of her way to make sure I was getting exactly what I wanted. We had to reschedule a couple times due to my schedule and she was understanding about that as well! Once we got started she offered me lots of breaks and checked in multiple times to make sure that I was feeling okay. I am beyond obsessed with my tattoo and I can’t wait to head back for more from her! She gave me her personal number and said multiple times that I should reach out with any concerns I might have. If you have been on the fence about what shop to use - don’t hesitate! Black Rose & Dagger is where you need to go.

You are greeted with a friendly face when you first walk in and the place is very clean! I went in for my grandsons names to be done by the letter master Bobby Lloyd and he didnt disappoint!Highly recommend. They do take walk-ins as well as appointments.

I came into the shop completely blind about any of the artists, but that was not an issue for this professional staff.After telling the receptionist what I was looking to have done, she recommended Sheyanne to take care of me. She is a wonderful and professional artist who was able to help me out with no issues. Very friendly and accommodating.Overall the shop is extremely clean with a wonderful open layout. All the staff makes you feel welcome right away. They also have an arcade game, as well as refreshments for guests.10/10 I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking to get work done. It is the shop I will be coming to whenever I’m in town and looking to get tattooed.

I would 100% recommend this studio! Their receptionist is very kind, studio was clean & beautifully designed. I had a walk in with Sheyanne, she drew up a beautiful sun to compliment another piece I had. She was very accommodating and welcoming. Overall a smooth process, and they offer military discount which is always a plus in Hampton roads!

It was a great experience filled with laughter. It was a comforting experience. I only got my nose pierced but it was really quick and the instructions given to take care of it was helpful. My piercer was Punastee who was very helpful throughout the piercing.

My most recent tattoo was by kelsey. Super sweet , friendly, and professional. It was the most comfortable tattoo Ive ever gotten. Was there from 10-3 and it honestly felt like I had a moms day so to speak lol environment was really open, clean, and welcoming. Staff were all really chill. Randy has done 4 of my tattoos and also did a great job executing the design. Over all I feel like its a shop you can trust, and it houses some of the best artists in our area. Randy was always my #1 choice for tattoos but books up quickly, now that his girl tattoos , does a great job AND has an easy hand she is quickly becoming my favorite as well. Great people all around. Couldnt recommend them enough, and the tattoo healed like a dream

I woke up one day, really wanting a tattoo not really knowing what to get or why I wanted a tattoo 🤣 I went to the nearest shop which happened to be this one. The energy was very warm and welcoming. One of the artist named Matt, sat me down and asked me what I was looking to get done, I told him I was unsure of what to get. Without hesitation, he told to take the time that I needed to find something for me. I finally made a decision and he drew it up for me, it was beautiful and I got it tatted. During the session music was playing and it was dope paintings and art on the walls, great lighting, great conversations. Overall wonderful experience. 10/10

I am highly satisfied with my service at this shop! A super clean and chill atmosphere with an amazing staff. I got a tattoo done with Arvin, from behind my ear and down to my neck. It was definitely a rough spot to get tattooed but he was super gentle, kind, and patient with me. He collaborated well with me to ensure that I got a design I loved, and he paid very close attention to detail to give me a quality tattoo! Will definitely come back any time I’m in VA!

Great experience with everyone I interacted with here. Sara the receptionist was extremely helpful and kind. Was able to snag one of the last spots during their Friday the 13th Flash Sale. Our time was right before closing and we were still met with smiles and a warm welcome. Even after a jam packed day, we both received pristine work from both Arvin and Kelsey. Will definitely be going back soon for more work.

This studio is beautiful, clean, and all of the staff members are amazing!!! I came in and got a piece done by Arvin and I just couldnt speak highly enough of him! He is so talented, he really pours his heart into his work and made something really special to me, and the whole time we had a blast like I was just hanging out with an old friend. The people who work here have always gone above and beyond for their customers and their customer service is bar none in comparison. The artistry, the people, the vibe, nothing compares. I had an old tattoo that I never really liked much, and I took a chance on Arvy, asking him to make a new design to extend it onto my hand and improve on the first tattoo. Right away I was impressed with how clean and pleasant the parkour was inside and how friendly and easy to talk to Arvy was.I came back for my appointment and found he had worked tirelessly all night to come up with something to compliment the original design and also combine elements from my inspiration photos.The tattoo took longer than he anticipated, because he is a perfectionist who takes great pride in his work. A true artist.I now have a tattoo that I absolutely love, and that attracts compliments from strangers everywhere I go. His art gives me more confidence and I know I will be returning for more when I can afford to.Take a chance on his work even if it seems outside his usual style. My piece was a lot more feminine than the Japanese style he specializes in, so I didn’t see any samples on his insta that matched what I wanted. I took a leap of faith based on his enthusiasm and honest intentions of making sure I would be happy. I’m so glad I did. He is a master of his art form.Go to rose and dagger. You won’t be disappointed.

So so happy with tattoo from @randy_templin_ at @blackroseanddagger . My tattoos are extremely meaningful to me and I worry that really talented artists (Like Randy) don’t have the time for me but didn’t want to trust this to just anyone. Randy made me feel as valued as anyone with really big pieces. He’s a truly kind soul. He took my concept and made it so much better than I had pitched it. I’m so delighted.

They’ve also got snacks and anything you want or need while you’re getting work done, and I left with a new favorite tv show! I’m getting my sleeve done by Randy and he’s ridiculously top notch, and never had an issue with communication or anything, his talent is crazy. I could sit in the chair all day at this place.
