It was the best piercing experience that I’ve ever had! Everyone was welcoming, patient, understanding and professional! As I walked into the shop for my daith appointment, I received an urgent call and they helped reassure me it was okay to take the call. That helped calm me down during a stressful situation and they didn’t mind when I was distracted during the process. They didn’t rush me even though they were busy, understood exactly what was going on and were completely understanding and went above and beyond my expectations. I love that everyone can feel safe while there and that it’s a safe space. The professionalism with their process is top notch and I felt stress free the entire process. Eric was extremely informative and happy to take the time to make sure the piercing experience was a success from start to finish. I will definitely come back for future needs and recommend everyone to go to Haven Body Arts!

My daughter in law recommended Penelope for my first helix piercings. Great woman and experience overall! I had a third lobe piercing that seemed closed and needed to be stretched as well. This gave Penelope a challenge but she stuck with it. There was good conversational distraction and unless I just have a high tolerance for pain, the procedures were all less painful than some dental appointments Ive had! 24 hrs out and i feel no real discomfort. I bought a donut pillow and slept relatively fine. Penelope is an expert! Once i heal, I already have plans to go back!

I went to nearby Hampshire College with Penelope and we were Modmates during my third year on campus. Our two Ferrets and two Mod Cats used to all play together & fall asleep together in a pile on our living room floor.Unfortunately, she hadnt opened Haven yet when I was living in Northampton for awhile after Id graduated from Hampshire, otherwise Id have been a fixture in her Studio FOR SURE. 👍 😉She pierced my eyebrow, and she is one of the funniest, NICEST, sweetest, coolest individuals Ive EVER met. Im SO PROUD of her for opening Haven because shed always be talking about opening her own Piercing & Tattoo Studio back when we were at Hampshire.Like me, shes also a native New Yorker, so we had that connection too. Went on a whim just for a second helix piercing. I think it was Eric who did my piercing. I know it was a basic piercing to them, but they made the visit enjoyable and smooth. I felt super comfortable and they were really clean.

Awesome experience tonight having Penelope pierce my daughter’s ear lobes for the first time. Penelope has done several of my piercings and she’s got years of experience, so it was an easy, obvious choice for me. She’s fantastic and was great with my daughter. She explained everything she was doing, repeatedly checked in with her to make sure it was okay to proceed to the next step. She also regularly gave my kiddo the chance to ask questions as well. Not only that, she took the time to get to know my daughter a bit first so my daughter felt comfortable from the start. Didn’t rush the process, went slowly and carefully, and my daughter was very happy with the result. Highly recommend! Thank you, Penelope!!

My daughter got her belly piercing pierced in June of 2023, it was fine up until about a month and an half ago when it began to get infected and then fell out a couple of weeks later. I got my tragus pierced at Haven in July 2023, it was fine up until a few weeks ago…it is extremely painful and irritating. I’ve been trying for weeks to take it out of with no avail. It’s extremely red and aggravated so My daughter and I went back into Haven last night (3/29/24) so I could explain what’s going on and finally have it taken out. Well, upon walking in the door the woman behind the counter was rude, uninviting, and dismissed me. After telling me that they would not take it out for me without an appointment, she mocked me and told me that is very simple to take out. Obviously if it were that simple I would not have left it in my ear that long…These piercings were not cheap and both my daughter and I had problems. STILL have problems because it’s still in my ear ☹️ but I will never go to Haven for anything again.

The overall piecing experience was decent (it was my first time getting piercings and the staff were nice), but expect to pay more than anticipated because the pricing on their website is not super transparent. It says the lowest priced jewelry starts at $25, but that is just for the earring backings and you have to still pay for studs or other options (individually) on top of that. Being able to offer non-reactive jewelry is nice in concept but it would also be appreciated if the pricing on jewelry was more transparent prior to booking an appointment, given its not included in the appointment cost itself.

I went to Haven last July, and had my vertical labret pierced by Eric. I wanted my vertical labret pierced that weekend and they had a slot open when I was available. I wish I had waited longer for a better piercing experience. I walked in day of, and picked my jewelry. The jewelry was a gem pin end on top and a ball on the bottom. The jewelry picking experience was fine. When the it came time to get pierced, he lined me up with markings to make sure the jewelry was aligned well with my face. This was also fine, i mean theres luckily not many ways to mess that up. Now the piercing is where the trouble started. I lied down for the piercing, and was all set. I got pierced. The needle went in, then the jewelry. Then once everything is in, and done he tells me the jewelry was upside down. The gem which was supposed to rest on top of my lip, was on the bottom. He asked me if i wanted it switched, and said it would be simple and easy. I was still laying down, and I said yes. Then he put the needle in, backwards (dull side first) through the FRESH PIERCING. When I tell you I have never had a more painful piercing experience, my legs were twitching, and I was audibly in pain. He took the needle out after finally putting the jewelry in again. at this point he had not finished putting the pin on the end, and now started to PULL MY LIP BY THE PIERCING to get a better angle on it. Finally he got it on, and I could leave. It was hard for me to give a tip to him to be completely transparent. I left Haven body arts doubting their quality, and my experience that day completely shadowed any good word I heard of them. The whole piercing from needle being in, to jewelry being in CORRECTLY in place took around 5 minutes which was all painful. I left there unhappy, and amazed that a piercer with such a professional portfolio, and lengthy experience as a piercer could make a relatively simple piercing the most painful I have gotten. I walk into every new piercing I get, nervous that the pain will be a fraction of what that was. I URGE you to wait for other piercing studios in the area to have openings, a good piercer will be able to do two large gauge lobe piercing completely in under 2 minutes and with a very minimal pain level. Any time I get asked about my vertical labret, I tout the negative experience I had that day, and tell them they might as well get it done at Claires at least then the quality will reflect the price.

I was very pleased with the care I received at body arts with the piercer. I found his work to feel very safe and clean. The piercings are healing well, so thank you for that.I am extremely displeased with the lack of transparency regarding pricing. It is as if the evasiveness of how much things cost is meant to swindle the customer and surprise them at the end with the total cost when all we really want is to pay are piercers well and tip them well. For example, were told the price of the earring, but not the price of the backing, even though we cannot get our ears pierced with jewelry we bring in and we definitely cant get them without the backing. And for some reason, were treated with hostility when we even question the pricing of the earrings even though there is no price breakdown in an understandable sheet or labeled near the jewelry.So I wonder, why the hostility at check-in and check-out. Why the evasiveness? Were going to pay for a service. Why do we need to be tricked into it?Because of this, I wont be coming back, but hopefully this might help another customer after me.*Ive emailed this feedback to the shop as well*

Shorty was absolutely amazing for my first big (for me) piece and first piece that included any color. He took the time to explain the healing process and even explained what to expect, especially since my skin is very sensitive and didnt particularly like the yellow ink.His calligraphy for the Vulcan script next to the Starfleet symbol is so beautiful and I am in love with it. 😍I would say, however, for me next time I would definitely get written instructions, if only for my peace of mind as we were both easily distracted while talking.He did make sure that we could reach him if we had any questions pertaining to the tattoo or the healing process.The place overall was very welcoming, and everyone was very nice. I am glad my friend recommended this place and I definitely recommend it for others

I got my daith pierced here after not having gotten a piercing in years (got my lobes pierced at Claires years ago... horror story there, they got infected and I ended up letting them close up). I had left a note about how I would like to get a specific item of jewelry as the final result after it healed (was on the Haven Body Jewelry website and listed as for healed piercings only) and the people running the front desk took a look at that for me and agreed to let me reserve it because daith piercings are expected to take 6-9 months to heal and I didnt want the jewelry I wanted (there were only two pieces of it in white gold which is what I wanted) to sell out. Anyways, my piercer, Penelope, took a look at it and told me I could get pierced with it right away due to the way it was constructed, and saved me $25 on the basic titanium jewelry. The process was surprisingly not painful, she gave me great aftercare advice, and I overall enjoyed the experience! Will definitely come back here when the enby urge to get more piercings strikes again (and once this has healed, so I can sleep on that side while my other ear heals). Looking into getting my rook and tragus on my other ear next... 5/5 would recommend :)

Wonderful experience getting my lobes & helix pierced today by Penelope! Felt comfortable & relaxed the whole time, was really impressed by the selection & quality of the jewelry, and I’m in love with my new piercings! Will definitely be back.

11/28/23The best worst experience. Everyone was super kind enthusiastic. Fun funny 😁. And super caring I had a great piercer, was as gent as possible for a bridge piercing. They made me feel comfortable, and took their time making sure things were lined. They even ask for other people to double check to make sure it was even on both sides and leveled.I got a triple bridge piercing all at once, it hurt a decent amount but it was barely painful thinking back to a few hours ago.Thank you for a great experience. 😊

I stopped in to see if they had any plugs in my size and i was surprised at the wide selection. Staff was super helpful and friendly. The owner was so kind and talked to me for a while. I ended up getting exactly what I wanted at a great price. I definitely recommend this spot

Once I arrived I started to feel sick out of fear of the pain I knew I was going to endure. My friend and I were going in for nipple piercings. We met Penelope our piercer and suddenly I felt so comfortable, and so safe. She jokes a lot which brought my spirits high! (All that I needed) She was very informative, and fun at the same time. The exact energy you’d want around you when doing something like I did. She handled my friend and I with such amazing care! The room was clean and sanitized. The whole shop was clean and sanitized! The staff was incredibly helpful, and friendly. It was my first time there, but I can say I will never go any place different! This place and Penelope are gems 10/10

I have visited Haven numerous times over more than a decade. The first time, I just felt that they were trustworthy, but had only my gut on which to rely. Theres a reason I kept going back! Penelope has pierced and re-pierced (as a result of bad choices in international piercers) me! She is the warmest, kindest, most skilled person and piercer! Honestly, I cant imagine it could hurt less. And speaking of not hurting...I cant say enough about what a pleasant, relaxing, JOYFUL experience it is to be in that studio, time and again. And this time I also had the utterly delightful Celeste at the front desk, who served only to be the roses on the icing on the cake of Haven and Penelope. I wish I wanted more piercings, just to visit Penelope, again. If youre looking for a piercing--and an MRI-safe one, at that--RUN to Haven!

Eric is a phenomenal peircer! My daughter had her helix pierced and I had my nose pierced. There was minimal discomfort and we have not had any problems with these piercings. We have had the least amount of redness and swelling compared to any of our prior piercings. He is professional and great at what he does.

Went in yesterday on short notice to turn my day around, and it certainly did just that. I didnt catch the name of the person behind the counter, but they were a pleasure to talk to. Eric was also excellent, having great bedside manner, not skipping any details on aftercare even though Ive gotten piercings before. I let Eric place the nostril stud and it looks excellent. The selection of jewelry was also great, and its all high quality materials. Overall very happy with the experience!

If you have never had a professional piercing, this is a great place to go. You can book online. They have an amplified selection of quality body jewelry like gold pieces that are hard to come by. I went in for a cartilage piercing, and Penelope, the piercer, was professional without being elitist. I told her what I was looking for and she carried out my wishes! The space is also super welcoming; there is lots of light, plants, and thoughtful artistic creations. Highly recommend if you are a local or a traveler planning to spend the day in Northampton.

After having my appointment cancelled at multiple other places the week of, I found Haven body on Google with great reviews! Also being a women owned business really lead me to making the last available appointment online! Eric did an amazing job. He calmed me down and relaxed my nerves. He even offered to take a few pictures on my phone with the ring light! For my first piercing I LOVE it! Thank you Eric and the front desk crew for helping me fall in love with my body a little bit more!ALSO Penelope has a naked cat and the pictures throughout the piercing room made my day! Me and my support person were DYING laughing!

Yall, I would literally come here every day to get a new piercing just to see Penelope. The BEST piercing experience I have ever had. She is calming, super knowledgeable, knows what shes doing, and down right hilarious. I felt like i was talking to a friend Ive known for years and didnt even feel like I was getting a needle pierced through me!! The other 2 ladies who were there were also super friendly and amazing. I went to haven because I damaged a piece of piercing jewelry. Penelope, the owner and an amazing piercer, quickly and kindly fixed my jewelry for me. Now my jewelry is in top shape again. They were able to fit me in the same day that I called. Excellent over the phone staff as well. I had a great experience.I also received a tattoo from this studio in 2021 and had a great experience with that as well.

Sunday was my first time at Haven! I got my other nostril pierced and Penelope did a great job with the pairing placement (she pierced the left, I already had the right done). Penelope was super friendly and an appropriate amount of silly that made me feel calm and at ease. Penelope explained what she was going while doing it which was much appreciated! My niece also got her septum pierced and had a positive experience with Penelope as well. Front desk staff was friendly and helpful in selecting jewelry. We traveled from NH specifically for this studio and will be back!

I went here to get a lip piercing, Eric pierced it fine but I ended up getting an irritation bump from waiting too long to get the bar shortened (my bad obviously) and went back to shorten it, their hands were shaking so so bad the whole time changing the bar and it was just a really uncomfortable experience, their hands were so shaky that they still couldnt get the right sized bar in. Afterwards they told me what would help to get rid of the bump BUT told me to put vitamin E oil on it to get rid of the bump. I did this and since the bar was still too long and I was putting undiluted oil on it the bump got worse and started embedding which was extremely stressful for me at the time, so I went back and I saw Penelope which was great she was super helpful with everything and I felt super comfortable the whole time. Penelope told me that I should never be putting straight undiluted oil on my piercing, that was definitely what made it so much worse. She changed the bar and thankfully the piercing bump left. My only issue is with the person who pierced me, there was a time I went back to buy more jewelry and I overheard them telling another costumer to put oil on it as well, Ive never heard another piercer give out that advice.

Eric is absolutely incredible and made the whole piercing experience perfect. He has so much experience 20 + years, and made me so comfortable, calmed all my nerves. Theres no doubt I will definitely be back to see Eric for any piercings in the future. Sterile clean facility with the best of the best professionals from the front desk to the piercer. This shop is top notch.

Haven Body Arts only does things in a safe and sanitary manner, you can put your mind at ease if you come here for any body modification they are going to do what is safe and right. I got a chest tattoo done by Shorty who was super helpful in figuring out the size and placement of the tattoo. He is personable and skilled. Im two weeks in healing very well with no complications and hoping to be back again soon!

Daith & nostril Pierce by Jay! Absolutely amazing piercer!! Talked to my sister and I like we had known him for years. The staff was knowledgeable about the jewelry and processes and helped us no matter how many questions asked. I HIGHLY recommend this shop!!

Used haven a few times for jewelry, small piercings in the past. They have amazing jewelry available and friendly knowledgeable staff. Booked today and got a more serious piercing. I have to say the staff are amazing. The front desk was super busy and the staff member held it all down with grace even helped me pick out a proper jewelry size for my piercing.it was nice to have options and one matched my current jewelry perfect. We wore our masks which made it much more safe for all involved. It was clean as always, comfortable and it’s nice to know the experts here really know there stuff regarding tattoos and piercings. They love their jobs and are passionate about helping you if your new ti piercings or just there for your next one. I’ve had piercings ate other shops before Haven and none are as consistent, thorough, and thoughtful. I was nervous to arrive for my piercing today it’s a big commitment, upon arrival I was comfortable while checking in and through the whole appointment. I felt so comfortable having Penelope do a set of piercings for me and now I’ll be sure to come back, after all I have plenty of space left for more piercings! It was as painless as possible for a piercing and you can grab aftercare products right from the counter at check out. I loved the online booking and the ability to sign most of my forms all remotely before the moment of the appointment. Haven is always great to me and I’m always impressed with their help and services here, they really see the best in the valley maybe even best in the world! So thankful for my piercing it’s a huge confidence boost for me to see my new piercings! Such professionalism, kindness and patience! My 7-year-old daughter had her ears pierced last week. She was VERY nervous, but Penelope (the owner and piercer) was so reassuring and comforting — she never pushed or rushed her, just cheered her on and let her know it was HER choice 100%. Arrived to a wicked friendly staff. Helped me out with my selection on jewelry.. it’s been quite some time having a piercing endeavor so they were very helpful when it came to what is good for the kind of jewelry for the piercings I got. Have wicked nice windows overlooking the Main Street and some sweet art hanging up. So hanging out in the waiting area was great. Penelope was wicked nice, friendly, funny and explained the whole process and what would be great for the aftercare. Quick to! Made me feel welcomed and was wicked knowledgeable. Was my first time at this piercer and if I feel the need to punch more holes in my body. Haven will be the first on my list. Thank you again guys! Wicked happy

I cannot write enough food things about this place. The staff has always been so warm and friendly, and they always make you feel so at home. I received a vertical labret from Penelope today, and I let her know ahead of time that I get woozy from piercings. After the procedure, I nearly fell over, but she spent her time taking care of me until I came back to normal. She supplied ice packs and juice and even dabbed sweat off of me when I couldnt. Shes incredibly kind, helpful, and patient. I always suggest this place. Thank yall for your hospitality.

Visited the shop to have my 10 year old daughter’s ears pierced. They had a good selection of jewelry and studs with replaceable fronts so you can change the look with out removing them. Penelope was great throughout the whole process explaining what she was doing and why so my daughter knew what to expect. I will be returning for any future piercing needs.

Eric did a microdermal on me and did a great job. I’ve had many other dermal piercings done but Eric’s was the least painful.

I had an piercing appointment the other day and was beyond nervous before I went in but within just 2 minutes of being in the room with Josh I was able to relax and get amazing piercings , im incredibly happy with his work and the comfort he was able to bring me before getting pierced. Piercer made me feel taken advantage of and did not inform me before and when the piercing didn’t go well. Messed up the piercing itself and caused excruciating unnecessary pain. Appalling service and disrespectful behavior from both the owner and the piercer. Please do not go and choose another studio for a better experience. Go to Lucky’s for better prices and service.

I had my very first piercing at Haven Body Art with Penelope and my experience was absolutely amazing! She is so funny and very professional. The moment that you step into the shop you immediately feel comfortable and at ease which should definitely be the case when you are getting a needle through your ear. I was actually really nervous but as soon as I stepped in the little piercing room with Penelope everything was instantly better and I had the biggest laugh. Her piercing is very quick and professional and practically painless, she makes sure to thoroughly explain the after care process and can answer any question you may have! Let’s just say I will MOST DEFINITELY come back for my next piercing and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this amazing place to anyone thinking about getting a piercing or tattoo!!

I made an online appointment to pierce my nostril and other shops in the area werent doing any piercings under the mask, but then I found Haven...BEYOND happy it was this shop I was led to! Even though I read everything on their website, I hadnt realized that the down payment for the appointment and piece of jewelery were 2 separate prices. The piercer/shop owner Penelope was a beautiful person who understood her customers and helped make me feel calm and that I could trust her completely. The other staff in store were all super nice and didnt make me feel awkward and Penelope made me feel extremely special. Haven is super clean and beautiful, and I know I found my go to spot for my future piercings and tattoos!!! I would just suggest a bigger name sign and an address update on Google maps because it led me to another tattoo shop and its front door is hidden discreetly on Main street. I had to ask a few locals, kind enough to guide me.

I had a wonderful experience getting my first piercing here. Penelope was super knowledgeable and fast getting the piercing in. Everyone working there was kind and attentive. I will definitely be back anytime I want a new piercing!

We travelled a bit because of the awesome reviews and were not dissapointed! Penelope pierced one of my daughters ears and Jay did my other daughter. Penelope did a great job and Jay allowed us as much time as we needed to be sure the placement was right before she was pierced. I was super nervous but I am so happy that we went through the extra effort. Penelope was really amazing at explaining the aftercare procedure to us. A long time after I thought one of my daughters ears had healed she fell and it became infected. Our doctor recommended antibiotics and taking the earring out, but I called Penelope and she guided me over the phone. My daughters ear healed beautifully. I am grateful to Haven for providing such a fantastic service for people who are detail oriented and strive for perfection. Penelope and Jay are both really kind and wonderful to work with!

I came into Haven Body Arts to get a nostril piercing a few weeks ago with my two daughters and daughter in law (we all got one!). We had our piercings done by Penelope, and it was a great experience! She was so friendly and professional, and we had a great time. She took the time to explain everything ahead of time, and made us all feel comfortable. I love my new piercing, and would recommend anyone who wants a piercing to go here!

I have been getting my piercings here for as long as they have been open. I just got pierced by Jay for the first time. He was amazing. Honest, extremely informative, walked through each piercing ( I got 6 this time) and did a great job. He downsized on a stone because he thought the others too big for where I wanted them. Will definitely continue to go here. Its worth the 70 minute drive, one way. I recommend to everyone. They also have a huge selection of jewelry and anyone working behind the counter are wicked nice, patient and informative. Thanks you so much

I have never been so pleased with a piercing or tattoo experience! Nicole was incredibly helpful and kind and cool and helped me pick out the perfect earrings! Haven worked with my budget and made me feel extremely special. Jay made me feel incredibly comfortable when piercing my ear and putting in the new earrings- he made sure I knew how to take care of the piercing properly AND to top it off - Im positively obsessed with the jewelry and placement and cant stop showing it off. Id recommend Haven to everyone I know, and I will be going back for all my future jewelry, piercing, and tattoo needs. Thanks guys for being awesome!

I got my nostril piercing done by Josh and it was a really great experience! He told me they call him “Gentle Josh” and it couldn’t be more true. This was my first facial piercing and I was nervous but he walked me through the whole thing and made sure I was comfortable! The piercing looks great, I never felt rushed, the procedure was very sterile, and the whole staff were so kind and knowledgeable about aftercare and safe piercing practices. I would 100% come back and recommend this place (and Gentle Josh especially) to anyone!

I wanted to get a few piercings fora really long timeI didnt know where to go. I tried a couple of places and they made me feel uncomfortable. Than I found heaven body arts.. Like 4 hours drive )They connected me to Penelope. and then everything changed. She helped me out from the beginning till the end. She made me so calm and comfortable for a very smooth process. Even the staff was very nice and friendly. (A judge freezone ) It was Haven. I cant wait to continue..

Haven is my go to shop for any type of tattoo or body modification. I have been getting piercings and tattoos from them probably since I was about 18 and they continue to be the best shop I’ve been too. All of the tattoo artists are amazing. The front end staff are always so welcoming and knowledgeable. I haven’t had the pleasure of getting pierced by Penelope yet but everyone that I know that has, only has great things to say. Jay. Jay is my go to man. Majority of my piercings he has done. He is amazing. He doesn’t try to candy coat information while at the same time making you feel extremely comfortable. I recommend Haven to everyone that asks about my tattoos and piercings and I will continue to do so.

I have been to Haven before for piercings but I had the best experience tonight! Penelope is so knowledgeable and friendly. I thought there was too much scar tissue from my previous surface bar but she was able to not re-pierce it, but simply gauge it! I thought I would never be able to have it again! Would never go anywhere where else for piercings.

I drove an hour just to go to HBA and my friend waited until she was here from Utah to get her piercings done as well. Penelope repierced my septum for me on Sunday. It was originally pierced by Beckie (her apprentice) over ten years ago and Im happy that P was able to do it this time. Penelopes bedside manner is wonderful. She made me feel incredibly relaxed and comfortable (and laugh) while she took her time to get the placement just right. She listened and did her best to give me exactly what I wanted.The shop was clean and looked great and you could tell the pride they all have in their establishment.TL;DR: Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a piercing done well in a clean shop with a great staff.

I was pierced by Penelope this week, I’d been before but it was my first time going alone and I was very nervous but she made me feel very calm and comfortable. She even tried to preserve the shape of my eyeliner with a tissue after my eyes teared up and smudged it lol. Really great experience, I will 100% be back in the future

I’ve had almost all my piercings done by Penelope. I haven’t been here in probably 5 years since moving to another state. However, for piercings, this is the only place I trust. Today I had a free day so I drove up here for a unique “ear heart” daith piercing. Having never worked with Jay, I was a little nervous but all his reviews are great. I am delighted to add to those reviews. The shop is always clean, the greeter (Nicole?) was friendly and helpful, and Jay was lovely to work with. Had a great experience here this past weekend when I got my lobes pierced! I walked in two hours before closing and waited less than 30 min before I went in (I expected to be there longer).Beginning with the front desk staff to the piercer--everyone was top-quality professional and friendly. Thanks to the front desk staff who helped find me the options that matched my budget. Thank you Jay for a thorough explanation of the process, the piercing, the aftercare, AND patiently answering all of my questions.I absolutely love how it turned out and felt informed, calm, and confident the whole time. Will return! I wholeheartedly recommend this location for your piercing needs.

I needed someone to remove my piercings for an MRI and they cancelled my appointment and called to tell me while I couldnt answer. I had text and email as preferred contact methods. Then when I show up they nonchalantly told me its canceled and couldnt even process the refund 😒 I have to call them back to talk to someone again. They clearly did not give a single f.

Shorty was awesome for my very first tattoo and as I’m Deaf, really great about using my transcription app. He was really nice with my anxiety and did a tiny line first so I could feel it and see the pain level. (He has a light hand and for me it wasn’t too bad.)We went over the instructions and he wrote some out and I got his contact information. He’s been really good with answering questions throughout the healing process! I have no idea why it’s not letting me attach a picture but I did post one separately. it’s a beautiful line drawing of my late dog high-fiving a human hand with the names of my three childhood dogs under it.

Penelope does an excellent job from piercings to customer relations. She pierced my tongue 2 years ago. She made the experience fun. She has a sense of humor and is patient. My 2 friends wanted to watch, and she had no problem letting them come into the room. And when they were more queasy than me, she was totally patient with them, just as if they were her clients.I took another friend to her to get a lip piercing. Again, Penelope was conversational, patient and professional.Haven Body Arts also offers attractive and quality jewelry. My favorite tongue and nose ring are both HBA purchases and have lasted years. As a whole, the shop is clean and obviously well-maintained.I now live in VA but would hold out on another piercing if I knew I would be in their area and could get it there.

I had a wonderful experience today with not only the piercer but all staff members. The people at the front were very welcoming, very sweet, and fun to talk to ☺️🖤. Josh was incredible and gave a run down of everything for me! Changed out majority of my jewelry and made me look and feel amazing. I will most definitely be coming back for more!

Sooooo amazing, no complaints here! Penelope gave me a piercing I didn’t even originally go in to get but it fits my lifestyle and future piercings better especially for placement. She was so funny and relatable and I can’t wait to get my other piercings there. The customer service from everyone was very welcoming and friendly. The price was as expected and reasonable for a job well done and all around great service. The atmosphere was super chill and relaxing. I highly recommend 😊

I got a third lobe piercing and my conch done here. With jewelry, it was over $200 which is definitely pricey. That said, I did get to pick out the jewelry (which is great bc you have to wear it until the piercing settles) and Josh was so professional, kind, and very experienced. All the other staff I interacted with were great as well. I would definitely go back here.

My six year old daughter just got her ears pierced here and we had an amazing experience! Penelope was kind and supportive and patient. The whole process moved quickly without feeling rushed and my daughter remained calm and relaxed throughout. She is thrilled with her new earrings and were so pleased with the process!

I initially went to Haven back in 2015 to get pierced by Penelope, she was friendly, witty and made the entire experience very comfortable. Earlier this year I was looking for a tattoo artist and discovered Erin, she has now done tattoos on my sternum and a side, I am already looking forward to reaching out to schedule another piece. Erin is personable, professional, funny and all around a kind person. She is an out of this world artist and I am so happy I trusted her with doing these large pieces on me (my mom who hates tattoos even loves them).This shop is unbelievably lucky to have Erin and her talent. She is dedicated to making her clients happy and making a pleasant experience. Erin has made me fall in love with the art on my body in places I never thought I would love! I had an amazing experience with Penelope today. She is obviously very good at the technical part of her job, but she is friendly and personable as well, and she really put me at ease. I warned her ahead of time that I might faint after she pierced me, and she even had a juice box waiting!

As soon as I walked in I noticed how bright and clean everything looked. The staff was incredibly helpful and answered all my questions. I was pierced by Penelope and she was amazing. She was very funny and made me feel very comfortable during the whole process. She was very knowledgeable and very thoroughly explained the whole process and aftercare. I highly recommend HBA.

Haven came recommended to me by a friend that had gotten tattooed by Erin, she loved the experience, so I booked an appointment to get my tragus pierced by Josh. I was welcomed enthusiastically by the staff when I first arrived and I was given time to choose my jewelry while Josh cleaned and prepped. The staff answered all of my questions regarding jewelry and there was no pressure involved in the process. When it came time to get pierced, Josh went over the entire process beforehand, and during the procedure he was quick and gentle. Aftercare was explained well, and the pamphlet that I was given is also quite detailed.I loved the experience so much that in a little over a week I was back to get 3 more holes poked by Josh, my lobes at a 6g and a daith piercing! Looking forward to coming back for downsizing, and more piercings once my current ones heal!

My 3 roommates and I were very nervous to get our first cartilage piercings, but Penelope at Haven made it painless and eased our nerves! She was so helpful and answered all of our many questions! I wanted to wait to review until I had work done on both sides of the shop, tattooing and piercing. Erin did a beautiful piece on my forearm and gave me more than what I wanted & made me so comfortable the entire time. I have gotten all of my piercings and tattoos from Haven, and I will never go anywhere else. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, and the shop is extremely clean and professional. I tried to go somewhere else while at school near boston, and I can definitely say ill never do that again haha. They are definitely worth the price, and have a lot of jewelry options in both gold and non gold options. My friend and I got our nostrils pierced by Jay today. We were really nervous but Jay was so patient and kind through the entire process and answered all of our (many) questions. He explained everything step by step and made sure to go over the cleaning/healing process in detail for us. The shop itself was very clean and the Nicole’s at the front desk were amazing and very helpful in picking out our jewelry. Would recommend to everyone!

I had a great experience here! We surprised a friend for her birthday with a tattoo and they were willing to help us out when we called! Drove a couple of hours yesterday evening to see Penelope and her phenomenal crew. I couldnt have asked for a better place to get pierced, they did such a great job! They were all so welcoming and kind and very educated on what they were doing. I got my industrial done there by Jim and he was so funny, definitely eased my nerves and made me comfortable. He walked me through after care, of which he was very passionate about and I loved that about him! He was extremely professional and got the piercing done quickly, cleanly, and perfectly. BEST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD!!! I got my nostril pierced by Penelope, she made the experience so much easier, very easy going person. As far as the procedure it was very clean and very professional they explained everything and everything you need to know about after care and there prices are very reasonable prices for their jewelry.

In August, my mom decided to get a tattoo of a something I painted for her. I recommended that she go to Bang Bang Body Arts because thats where I went for my tattoo in January. However, the artist that tattooed me was not available and was moving away. I did some research and I found Haven Body Arts. The reviews were glowing so we decided to make an appointment. My mom was tattooed by Justin. Both the woman behind the counter and Justin were very kind and helpful. The shop is also extremely clean. Recently, I decided to get my tragus pierced. There was another woman behind the counter who was quite helpful when she was showing me the jewelry. The piercer, Jay, was very patient with me even though I was being pretty indecisive about the placing. When I actually got pierced, he did it quickly and there was barely any pain. When I got home, I realized I had questions. I emailed them and the owner with very thorough answers. Everyone is so friendly at Haven and you can tell that they really care about their work and their customers. I will highly recommend their services to everyone who is looking to get pierced or tattooed!!!

I was stunned by how amazing this shop is. Fair prices, great staff. Penelope treated me and my friend so kindly, it was like she already knew us. She did an amazing job, and made us feel beautiful. Penelope is a very good piercer. She is very genuine and kind. The jewelry selection is much better than Luckys. They gave jewelry at a variety of price points and are overall just more welcoming.

I took my seven year old daughter to get her ears pierced at Haven. The facility was extremely clean and all COVID precautions were followed carefully. Jay was so patient and understanding. He explained the entire process to my daughter and told her that she could take her time and that he would not do anything without being sure she was ready and communicating with her first. He played Disney music in the background and made fun conversation with her throughout the process. She was initially very anxious, but he calmed her nerves. She got both ears pierced within half an hour. I’m so glad I brought my daughter to Haven. Jay made my daughter feel like a grown up and like she was in complete control of the process. I highly doubt that she would have had such a good experience anywhere else. Thank you to all the staff at Haven!

Josh made my daughter really comfortable during her piercing. She got a little dizzy after and he gave her a juice.I was so pleased with how quick,clean and professional he was. We will definitely use Haven for anymore piercings. ❤

I hate leaving negative reviews and rarely do so. I emailed and sent a FB message hoping to speak with the owner but no response after two weeks.I went in to have a nostril and conch piercing switched out. The person at the front counter was really short with me, super interested in her phone, and not helpful. At one point I swore I got an eye roll. Im not experienced with piercings, I was trying to ask questions about the different options, types of metal and prices. I asked if she had any recommendations, the only thing she could say was that all the metals were the same and the only difference was price and look. After 5 minutes of basically no answers, I gave up and picked generic jewelry to replace what I had. I was choosing between steel at $25 per piece or white gold, which she quoted $60 to $80 depending on the size. I decided on the white gold. After picking out jewelry she said ok and went over to the computer. I stood there awkwardly for a minute then sat down, was I supposed to sit down or follow her? I have no idea.Josh took me back, he was really helpful and I had no problems with him at all. My nostril piercing had a problem so I couldnt change the jewelry yet, that was fine. After the white gold conch ring was inserted, he gave me tips about aftercare and potential irritation of the area. One thing he said was that white gold was more delicate so I needed to be more careful. If the person at the counter had taken just a few minutes to really discuss the options, I would have chosen a less delicate metal due to my field of work.I went up to the counter to pay. The cost was $125 for the jewelry plus $10 for insertion and tax, minus the $20 deposit I had to pay at the time of the appointment. So my total was just under $125. I asked what was so expensive, and the same front counter person said the jewelry I picked out was $125. I said, you told me it was $60-80 depending on the size. She said well its a bigger piece so its $125. I said, if I had known it was so much money I would have picked the steel. She just shrugged her shoulders, did not apologize or offer to get it switched out. Thats a $45 increase from the high-end quoted price. This person knew I was picking out both a conch AND nostril piercing, so should have been able to estimate the size correctly or ask for help.Ive gotten two piercings here before and I was very happy. I drove an hour east just to get piercings changed out at this shop because my former experiences were great. Maybe COVID has changed things? The people working the front counter need to have a certain level of care, social ability, and knowledge to provide good customer service. This was really just awful and I hope she can be provided with a bit more training, though it is hard to train someone to care. Your front counter people should anticipate questions from customers since not every person with a piercing is highly experienced.

I cant say enough good things about this place and the owner, Penelope as well as the shop staff. Ive been coming to Haven for my piercing and jewelery needs for several years now and I wont go anywhere else. Penelope went above and beyond to help me at home when it came to measuring jewelery during the COVID-19 pandemic and shipped out a properly fitting post for me which I received within 2 days. While I am also a customer of other highly rated shops in the area, I can confidently say that HBA is the best and they are my first choice and recommendation to everyone 😊

I went to Haven about 2 weeks ago because I wanted a piercing and the tattoo parlors that do it in my town are owned by cocky, rude men I did not feel comfortable with. Im not a piercing person, per se-Im just a middle-aged woman who wants what I want and who does not want to put up with the arrogance of the people Ive dealt with in my community. I feel that if I am changing my body in any way, that I want to feel good about the person who is doing it and that the experience is positive overall. I originally went to get my nose pierced at Haven. I have had my nose pierced 4 times in the past. All of those piercings were problematic in their own ways-placed wrong, at odd angles, with the end of the earring sticking out or coiled somewhat uncomfortably, etc. When I went to Haven, right away, my first impressions on was that the staff was helpful, friendly and non-judgmental. A kind of comeraderie developed between all of the clients and the staff and we all discussed what we were going to get and it was just a very supportive environment. They also had a lot of high-end, stylish pieces of jewelry to chose from. Then I met Penelope, who is the owner and who pierced me. She was funny, relaxed, easy-going and very professional. She instantly made me feel comfortable and good about getting a piercing there. I ended up getting 2 piercings- the other in a very private spot that I had been considering. I am a medical provider-a PCP- and was impressed with her thoughtful, careful and sanitary practices. She let me know exactly what to expect and she was right on the money. The sweet tattoo artist even came in to hold my hand. And, the piercings were perfectly placed, pain was minimal and the healing has been a cinch. Im so glad I found them and the difference between my earlier piercings and these ones was epic. It makes a difference when a real professional does it. This is not a cheap place to have a piercing done, but its so worth it for the knowledge and friendliness of the staff, the professional technique, the lack of pain and the final outcome.

This review is very long overdue but I just remembered my experience and thought I should share it. In February of this year I booked an appointment over the phone for a septum piercing. On the phone, the person booking my appointment was supposedly new at the time, but also failed to inform me of the covid-vaccine card mandate, which is extremely specific to the piercing I wanted to receive. Not only did I not have a vaccine card on hand, I did not even know that this was going to be an issue as again, the person on the phone did not inform me. It was not in the contract I signed, nor was it pinned ANYWHERE on their website or social media at the time of the appointment setting. I was only informed once I drove over an hour to get there, in the main lobby, where they told me I could “get the vaccine/card and then reschedule my appointment with them”. I understand the vaccine mandate and don’t have an issue with that, but what really upset me was that they refused to refund my $35 deposit. I sent multiple emails to the “owner” about this situation and I don’t believe I ever received any emails from them offering a refund on my deposit, or even an apology for the confusion. I was very disappointed that day, and wished I could’ve left with that piercing and a great review.

Penelope is professional and informative about the experience and aftercare. She spends the time with each customer to feel comfortable and calm while getting stuck with something sharp! Her knowledge of the professional is above an beyond. If you are looking for a piercing, Haven is the place to go!

My 3 year old has been asking to get her ears pierced since her birthday in September. We decided that as a Christmas gift I’d take her to get her ears pierced. I was planning to take her to the mall but as I was looking into it I began to feel unsettled and decided I’d be more comfortable going to a tattoo/piercing parlor. I had trouble finding anyone in this area that would pierce her since she was so young. We were turned away yesterday at another shop in NoHo after I was told they could do it so we made the trip. Both my daughter and I were disappointed. When I got home I call Haven Body Arts and made an appointment for today. We had an amazing experience! Jay was really friendly and made me and my daughter feel really comfortable!! We will definitely be going back 😁

Such a great shop!! Came from Pittsfield and it was worth the drive. I had my nipples repierced and Penelope did an amazing job. I was very nervous after having a bad experience the first time I had them done and she eased all my worries. The shop was clean, professional, and my wait was less than 5 minutes. I HIGHLY recommend Haven for piercings. =)

I got my nostril pierced and he was absolutely amazing. I kept telling him I was nervous and he kept reassuring me without getting mad. Very professional and calm. 10/10 will do again. He also checked my nipple piercings for me in that same time (got them done at a different shop) and helped me figure out what was wrong and set up another appointment to get the jewelry changed since it was too long. I love this place!!

I went to Haven Saturday, May 6th for their $10 piercing sale for pride. I wish I couldve said my experience was as great as everyone else seems to be experiencing, but it was not. I got my helix pierced, and Jay was amazing. He was patient and informative and all around pleasant to be around, making me feel very comfortable. The woman at the front desk is what ruined it for me. It was about 8:30pm, and the shop closed at 10pm that evening. My friends and I walked in and she looked up and looked annoyed, asking what we needed. I said I was there for the sale, and she made a face of disgust and continued to act rude the entire time I dealt with her. She seemed highly annoyed that she had to actually do work at her job. One of my friends was also planning to get a piercing, but was so disgusted at the way she acted that she decided not to. Its a shame because Jay did an excellent job, but this front desk woman ruined the experience for me.

I got my septum pierced here by Josh and I could not be more pleased! He explained everything he was doing during the process and made me feel comfortable. This is my second piercing I have gotten at HBA and will make this place my go to for piercings. I definitely recommend this establishment and piercer!

Josh is so professional and answered all of my questions when I was getting really nervous before the piercing. I had my labret done, it was quick and was not at all bad. they have a very exuberant attitude witch helped with my anxiety. I spend 90+ dollars on this piercing, the jewelry was kinda expensive but I am happy to support them. thank you Josh!

I came in for a piercing and Oz at the front desk was incredibly rude to me. Firstly she rolled her eyes at me when I asked if there were any more selections for piercing options, and when I went to pay she ignored me waiting at the front desk for 10 minutes. Once I paid she very loudly asked “ARE YOU GOING TO TIP” while my piercer stood right beside me. This was incredibly uncomfortable but I tipped as my piercer did a good job. She refused to let me use the touchpad to decide my own tip and then asked what percentage I would like to do. What I didn’t know was that she took the percentage of not only the jewelry but also the piercing fee .. that I had already paid?? This is not standard business practice and was incredibly rude. I had a good experience with my piercer but this lady’s attitude and actions were extremely inappropriate and unless the manager reaches out to ameliorate this situation I will not be returning and I suggest others do not as well.

I just went and got my philtrum pierced and I can only say great things about Haven. Penelope was fantastic! She talks and makes you laugh to keep you at ease while she pokes at whatever part of your body. Everything was super clean and super fun. Ill definitely go back!

I decided to come to Haven to get my nostril peirced after having it peirced, and then get infected two separate times before at another parlor. Let me tell you, it was the best choice I could have made. I was understandably frustrated and Penelope made sure to explain to me what had gone so wrong for me before, and how I could take better care of my newest bling. She had an amazing sense of humor and made me feel really relaxed and at home during the whole process. I am now happy to report that finally, my nostril peircing healed up with out any troubles. I confidently recommend to all of my friends, and I will always go back to them for all of my tattoo and peircing needs.

I have gotten 3 peircings with the owner Penelope....yrs ago. I wouldnt go anywhere else!!! Stop your search on where to go... and give them a call right now.They are soooo... amazing that my luck while this pandemic 🥴 i snagged my dermal and got a infection. I left a voicemail and got a call from Penelope ( the owner ) and she was sweet, caring her and her husband were there for me during this closed time and made sure I got the care I needed and allowed me to do curbside pick up to be able to heal appropriately… i call that the place everyone should do business with. They will 100% not leave you hanging even though they are not open. Give them a CALL NOW!!!!

I have gone for my nostril, belly button, helix, lip, septum, nipples, and my second nostril. I have only had one piercing get infected but that was my fault. I will not go anywhere else for a piercing. I have had every piercer, and I trust them all. Extremely clean, and well stocked. I know that I am getting quality jewelry. They only use treadless or internally threaded jewlery which all shops should use. Easy to get to. The only thing is that if there are a lot of people the seating isnt the best. But the work is so good I can easily over look that. They will not pierce certain things, each artist is different, and I respect that if they feel like the piercing will not work in your body, or it is one that will easily get ripped out, they may not do it. So call before hand if it is something unusual!

Ive gotten my conch, daith, and rook all pierced by jay (one of the piercers) honestly the best experience ever. Hes very professional but funny at the same time and make the piercing process very enjoyable. Also very quick, my friend went to luckys across the street and had to wait more than 3 hours while the same day I went to haven and only spent an hour there (that includes being pierced and paying).

I walked in to haven on a Saturday to see when the earliest they could get me in for my first tattoo. I got my tattoo done within the next 24 hours! I have had my tattoo planned in my mind for months I told Natalie what I was thinking and she made a few options for me to choose from. She created exactly what I had imagined for so long! It being my first tattoo I was extremely nervous but the workers all made me feel so comfortable like I truly belonged there and that they weren’t doing it because it was their job but because they wanted to give me my tattoo. Everyone here is so nice and welcoming!! I got my nipples pierced here and I’ve never felt more comfortable. I have my fair share of tattoos and piercings and I can honestly say this place was the best I’ve ever been to!! Penelope is amazing!!!

I paid almost $150 for two piercings (with the basic jewelry options). I don’t mind paying that much if the experience is good but out of the three shops I’ve been to this one was the most expensive and the most disappointing. The piercer was unprofessional and far too touchy, at one point leaning on me while we were talking (between piercings) and it made me extremely uncomfortable. The nostril piercing I got didn’t line up with the piercing on my other nostril as it was pierced too low and the other piercing I got was pierced at a very obvious (and unintentional angle). Save yourself the money and bad experience and go to either of the piercers at Luckys in Northampton or Stephen at Papercity in Holyoke (my personal favorite).

Jay was amazing with my 7 year old daughter who became terrified of getting her ears pierced after watching her cousin go just before her. She really wanted her ears pierced, didnt want to leave, but didnt want a needle stuck in her ear. Jay did not pressure her one way or the other, instead was a calming force in the room. After patiently waiting for her to make her decision and after being in the studio for nearly 2.5 hours (most of which involved crying), my daughter decided to go forward with the ear piercing. Jay was truly a professional...he and the staff showed no frustration towards her during her time of turmoil. He turned what could have been a horrible experience into a great one, and she left the studio with a huge smile on her face. I cant recommend this establishment enough!

I have been a customer of Haven Body Art for 6 years and I have everything done from my wedding ring being tattooed to my septum being pierced. HBA is a family and they remember your name and ask how you are doing. They genuinely care! I have gone to other shops that put such huge body jewelry in that I was constantly infected and then HBA gave me the correct jewelry and it has healed up perfectly. I WILL NOT GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Penelope, Jay, and the rest of the team are trained and professionals. If you want a piercing or tattoo that will heal well and look beautiful, then go the HBA. You wont regret it!

I really enjoyed my first tattoo experience. It was not as bad as I expected. I did really well my artist told me, Roman was so kind and easy to talk with. I totally want to go back to him for any other tattoo needs. He did a wonderful job on my first tattoo. I love it so much! I really liked the atmosphere of the place and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to get a tattoo.

Absolutely rude and ridiculous staff, went in to buy body jewelry needed to wear a mask, attempted to buy one they wanted to charge me a dollar each no problem all I had was $100 bill, its Christmas time Im Christmas shopping ...It would make sense that they could just add it to the total of my order, but no, we left instead because they seemed so unwilling to help.

This place just might not be for me. I went in to get my inner conch pierced and the person at the front desk told me they wouldnt be able to use the jewelry i had brought in, from a very reputable place in berkeley where i had my upper ear pierced, because the outer threads might shred the piercing hole upon insertion. So, after choosing a ring there was a bit of a wait and then Jay called me in. At first I thought he was really considerate, not wanting to butcher the pronounciation of my name, but I thought it was weird that I had to lie down for the procedure. After a while Jays way of talking to me while lying down got rather agitating. The piercing itself was so painful I cried a lot more than I have with my other piercings. It just kept on going while he tried to get the ring in place. Felt like he was literally tearing me a new one, which I found horrifyingly ironic considering I had been coerced into buying a whole new ring. I almost asked him to take it out and nevermind, but eventually it was over and though I felt humiliated, I paid and left saying nothing, my ear throbbing like hell. This place seems well liked so it might just be that Im used to something different, but I will not be returning here.

As a healthcare provider, I understand that it is difficult to find create ways to meet peoples needs that are COVID safe. I came in for a septum piercing and was having a hard time understanding the fit of septum rings and figuring out what would fit my nose properly. The person assisting with jewelry did not offer much guidance. I asked if there was any way for someone to visually assess my nose to help in the decision process. I asked this while my hands were far away from my mask as I strongly value COVID safety. The person assisting me went completely silent for a while until finally I offered a reminder that saying no is an okay thing to do. I ended up with a septum ring that does not look good and is too small. First, I wish staff felt more comfortable with direct communication. Two, an alternate solution would have been to have ask to see a picture to help in assessing fit during the jewelry selection process.

This is by far the greatest place i have ever been to. always a positive experience. both from the lovely ladies who work the counter and penelope! penelope is such an amazing, sweet person and makes every trip to haven fun. always informative and she never lacks in being funny, and on top of all that shes a master at piercings. they all come out beautiful and heal like a dream. i 100% recommend you check them out if you havent already, you wont be disappointed!

I went to Haven on a Saturday night for a new piece of jewelry for my inner conch piercing. I was helped by a young man who when he looked at my piercing he exclaimed “wow that is in rough shape.” I got my piercing done 5 years ago, I have a keloid, I got my piercing done by a very reputable piercer.I was very put back by this statement. He started showing me jewelry then told me how they charge, $20 per stone on a piece of jewelry, really?! I could get a new piercing for the cost of the jewelry alone and it wasn’t even sterling silver or gold.He lost interest in showing me then walked away from me without even saying excuse me or I’ll be right back, to help two girls down the counter.So much for customer service, maybe I was going to buy a gold piece, but they didn’t show me any, I’ll be going elsewhere, no thanks.

I brought my 9 year old and 4 year old to get their ears pierced. Jay was endlessly understanding and patient. My 4 year old ended up getting just one lobe pierced and my 9 year old didnt go through with it. But when she cried on the way home, and I turned back around, Jay was so sweet and she got both ears done! I am beyond thrilled with the entire experience, start to finish.

I went in yesterday and had Jay as my piercer. He did a great job making me feel comfortable and walking me through each step he was taking before actually making the piercing. Very clean and friendly shop I would recommend them to anyone.

After two nightmare mall piercing experiences, and years of trying to get earrings into my eleven year olds ears without any success, we heard about haven. tonight we walked in to inquire and had an absolutely wonderful experience and once again, she is wearing earrings and so, so, so happy. jay was patient, informative, professional and very skilled. he assessed her situation and clearly gave us our options and offered his expertise. i cant say enough about this experience and want the world to know that you should get your childrens ears pierced here, and never at a mall with a gun. she had double piercing (mall, twice) that caused severe scar tissue. jay was able to rectify the situation perfectly. take your children to the experts people! THANK YOU JAY!!!!!

Went to get my helix done and have severe swelling and pain the weeks following, not normal discomfort. i got it removed at a different place and they told me that the post they used was way too small and was digging into my ear, no room to swell and heal. the same thing happened to my sister at this place.

I had dermals put in my arm by Jay a year ago now, and theyre still as perfectly aligned and flush with the skin as Day 1. Ive had no problems whatsoever.If youre looking to get dermals done, dont go anywhere else. I came all the way from Boston because Jay is the only piercer I trust with dermals. Ive tried several other piercers closer to me (including Marc, who, yes, is very good, but I dont like the non-permanent anchors they use at his shop), none of who could (or would even try to) do the dermals right. The employees at the desk at Haven were extremely helpful when picking out jewelry.Jay has done several other piercings for me, as well (tongue, several ear cartilage, clavicle dermals); he is always meticulous about placement and goes above and beyond to make sure youre happy with what youre getting. My favorite thing about Jay is that he wont try to talk you into doing anything his way stylistically. He will give you all the facts you need and tell you all your available options, but ultimately its your body, and the decision is yours (obviously within the confines of what is safe).I would highly recommend this shop, particularly Jay, especially if youre looking for dermals or anything with special placement.

I was pierced by Joshua two months ago and im very unhappy. I went in to get two back to back dermals on my upper cheek. During the process there was a struggle on his end, they both took forever to pierce! And dermals are no joke it was at least over 60 seconds of him pushing hard into my cheek for each. I knew it would be painful but the whole thing seemed prolonged. The second didnt hurt as bad or feel as deep. When i told him, he took it out and pirced it again deeper!!I was ecstatic with the end result and how well the placement framed my face especially since I CHOSE the placement. I was told to wear bandaids for 48-36 hrs and then let my shower naturally clean them and use healing spray accordingly. I followed his instructions.Then they started shifting and i read online to sleep with bandaids on for the first month!! As soon as i learned this (on my own) i used bandaids frequently. At first it helped and if the top dermal shifted i could push it back into place (the one he messed up) but now it wont push back its permanently poking out and this causes it to be very in the way.Im extremely discouraged to ask for a refund or complain because before the appointment i was warned they are “temporary dermals” but he clearly isnt practiced with this type of dermal placement or something and now im horribly mortified to be seen with botched dermals!At the end of the day im frustrated that they will show no remorse knowing that the best i could do is get them removed and deal with the scars and the memory of what could have been along with the pain and money it took to look completely amazing with them at first. It’s heartbreaking. Cant exactly re pierce them because the scar tissue would cause shifting so im very confused why he thought he could re-pierce it in the first place without long term complications. Im assuming he did know, and if i brought it up he’d just pull the “its rejecting” card!! I make this assumption out of lack of trust for him

I have never experienced such unprofessionalism, poor customer service, and false advertisement until my experience with Haven Body Arts. Their artist committed to providing a tattoo design for approval 10 days before the appointment. My apt was 6 weeks from the time I contacted them. The appt required a $75 hold fee (or so I was told). 10 days before the appointment came and went with no design and after contacting the artist, she said it would be ready in a day or so. That came and went as well. I became uncomfortable with the situation as I live 1.5hrs away from the shop and because the artist is only there select weekdays, I needed to make arrangements with my job to get up there - rescheduling would be difficult for me. So I wanted to cancel the appointment. They said the deposit was non-refundable, something I was NOT told. I made the appointment over the phone and was not told this, given anything to sign recognizing I received this information, etc. The shop person said “Well, I have a lot of tattoos, and it’s normal not to have a design until the day before or day of the appointment”. Excuse me?? That is NO excuse to blow off a commitment your staff gave to a client ESPECIALLY when the client is PAYING YOU. The owner of the shop defended the staff that she also has an 1.5hr drive to the shop... not my problem. You have a job? Figure it out and get your act together. If people are paying you to do a job - do it or give their money back. If most people didn’t do their jobs and finish what they commit do, what happens? They get fired, the company loses clients, thus the company loses money. They can deal with my credit card company. FYI - Haven Body Arts - it’s called larceny when you take a person’s money and don’t provide a service.

I first want to say Ive been pierced and tattooed at Haven multiple times and loved every experience Ive ever had. Ive highly recommended the shop to friends and strangers alike and all have agreed Haven is great. When it came time to get another tattoo, I knew Id go to Haven. I made the deposit over the phone without a doubt in my mind. They just got a new tattoo artist and I assumed everything would go as awesome as every other time Id been. I brought in a picture of what I wanted and expected him to take 5 minutes to discuss it with me seeing as any tattoo is a commitment or sorts. He did not. He rushed away with the image and seemed in a hurry. I put that aside and waited for what hed come up with. He made the image huge and totally not what I had asked for when I placed the deposit. He showed me what it would like and I wasnt happy with it. I politely asked him if he could make it a little smaller and with obvious attitude he told me hed have to redraw it. I apologized and said I just wanted it smaller. He sighed and shooed me out. I waited again and he came up with the exact same thing. He was rude, paid little attention to what I wanted and when I tried to explain myself I felt scolded for not liking what he planned on tattooing on me. In the end I said I did not want that tattoo. I was unhappy with the artist and unhappy that he had treated my tattoo as an inconvenience. I waited a day before deciding that, seeing as this was supposed to be my birthday gift, Id like the refund back. When I called I wasnt even given the opportunity to speak to anyone in charge to resolve the issue, instead I was told I couldnt be helped and hung up on. I was horrified. The customer service level Ive known to be standard at Haven was not apparent at all in this situation. I knew they said deposits couldnt be refunded but I wanted to see if an exception could be made as Im a repeat customer or if I could receive store credit of some sort or anything really to recognize that I was unhappy with my experience. I was not even given that chance. This was such a disappointment compared to every other exemplary experience Ive had at this shop. Im not sure if Ill ever go back.

Penelope is so graceful and amazing. I honestly love the way she interacted with me through out the session.I strongly suggest you go here- its a totally different experience compared to Luckys and Pish Fish (who in my personal experiences- dont show the same respect as she does)

I highly recommend HBA for your piercing. They clean, followed all sterile procedures, and were super friendly. Rob the Piercer did an excellent job of explaining everything prior to proceeding. Id absolutely return here for any other piercing.

This place is amazing! I have had two piercings done by Jay and not only is everyone so nice but they have huge selection of jewelry and very clean and they accept credit cards which is awesome! I definitely will be coming back for more piercings and can’t wait to get my 20th tattoo done by Haven Body Arts!!

Some nerve they have in there man. Went in for $10 piercing Wednesday (I understand this doesn’t include jewelry) and the lady’s trying to charge me $45. Nowhere in the flyer does it say that already discounted items weren’t included. Good luck to anyone that goes in there. Straight up stupid.

Called in need of a service; the girl on the phone told me come on up, we are here, etc, I make a 45 minute drive and they are CLOSED! How deceitful! They intentionally led me on and didnt bother to call me back to tell me they would be, in fact, closed by the time I arrived. Complete waste of a trip. I am highly, highly disappointed and upset by this manipulative behavior. Calling their shop number offers no way to leave them a voicemail....totally unprofessional. I am not happy Haven Body Arts

I got my first tattoo here a few years back for a flash sale. Although, I do not remember my artist since being a flash, Ive been happy with the outcome. Its a fun a semi personal tattoo to me but theres some parts of it that could have been with a straighter hand. Nonetheless, i adore it and the imperfections.

I had the most amazing experience!!! It was calm and i was nervous about getting my nose done but jay stepped me through what he was doing and that helped alot i would definitely come back there to get a piercing done. It was alot of fun thanks haven body art !!!
