Purgatory Tattoos

Took my girls for their ear piercing and the staff was beyond our expectations. The kindest and over sensitivity shown to my daughters was absolutely heart warming for an event my girls were so nervous about. Thank you so much to the staff!

Took my daughter to get her ears pierced here yesterday and they were amazing! She was getting a little nervous and they all made her feel welcome and comfortable. The piercing was quick and easy and she is so happy with her new earrings! Will definitely be coming back for any future piercing and tattoo needs!

Little bit of a glitch hopefully, I stopped in a couple of weeks ago and the crew was out to lunch. Left my name and phone number for a return call to make an appointment, alas Ive not heard anything from them. The shop was really cool, the party I spoke with was nice. Oh well.....?

I have nothing but kind things to say about the artists, and even clients at Purgatory. I walked in for my first tattoo terrified, and from the start they were all kind, friendly, and encouraging. Which helped settle a lot of my nerves from the start. They all playfully messed with me, making me laugh and settling more nerves. Once I got in the chair and got my design settled with Mike, and we started it was not at all as bad as I expected lol! But everyone in the shop, artists AND clients, continued to check on me, encourage me, give me water, sugar, etc. I get in my own head too much with these kinds of things and they let me sit for a while after we were done to gain color back to my face and feel okay to walk. My husband had all 4 of his tattoos done at a different shop and said that the artists there were NEVER as kind or good as Purgatory. If you’re going to get a tattoo, your first or not, Purgatory is the way to go.

I talked with someone through insta for a appointment for today (6/18) back on may 30th. they wrote me down, had my number and all that. i get no call while running errands. didn’t think much of it. my bf had an appointment same day but at 1pm when mine was at 2pm. we’re about 15 min early and the tattoo artist had told us we would have to wait several hours because our name wasn’t written down and was quite rude about it. don’t know why you guys accept online appointments when you didn’t write them down. really disappointed.

Mike is my favorite. Always makes me feel heard & comfortable in my tattoos.

Took my 6 year old to get her ear lobes pierced here and she had a great experience. From the time we walked in we were welcomed and everyone was super kind and professional. The building is very clean and nice looking on the inside. They got her in quickly and the piercer was awesome! He did a great job explaining things to her and talking to her about what he was going to do and we were both so happy when we left! Over all a great experience and would recommend them to anyone! Thank you all for making her first experience an awesome one! I’m glad we waited and came here instead of going elsewhere.

Hadnt seen Chris for quite a while. And I took my son up there he just turned 18 he wanted his first tattoo. Chris did me right and did a hell of a job on top of that. Id recommend this to anybody. Thanks Chris

Meg did eye liner and Chris did my tattoo for me remembrance of my son and brother the design is talked about every time someone sees it they love it and ask who did it. I love Meg and Chris need to go back to get other arm done maybe lips too💞

The only small problem...1st come, 1st serve.....and they are BUSY!! All the guys are great. Mike did my tat. He was patient, worked with me on design and was meticulous in getting it right....thanks to all.

Meg is absolutely wonderful! She is so friendly, outgoing, and truly cares about her clients! She made sure all throughout my appointment that I was comfortable. She will not do any permanent makeup that she knows will fade and/or look bad several years down the line. She gives great aftercare instructions and is available for any questions that may arise. I wont let anyone else touch my face! Highly, highly recommend! Nothing but praise for her! Theres a reason shes so highly sought after! Im in love with my new lips!

They are awesome! I had an ear piercing I got done at Clair’s go horribly wrong- my earring backing was on too tight and it basically sucked my earring stud into my earlobe.I was a little panicked because it was too painful for me to try and push it back through my ear.I decided to come to Purgatory Tattoo for help and advice, they numbed my ear for me right away and quickly and delicately managed to push the embedded earring out. I’m so thankful!!! Never again going to Clair’s!! I will be coming here for my third ear piercings!! Thank you!

First things first, staff is VERY friendly and inviting. I have never been in a tattoo shop where everyone is so welcoming and friendly, made me feel comfortable. I had a compass done by Mike and its by far my favorite tattoo so far.

Hands down this is the BEST place for permanent makeup! I have gone to Meg personally, but have seen Crystal’s beautiful work too while in the shop. Meg has been so VERY patient with my skin allergies and irritation which is the reason I wanted to try permanent makeup. ( I am allergic to aloe cut with lanolin, nickel, gold) She has taken her time to make sure my skin will not be damaged by the tattoo such as my vein pattern in my eyelids. To even using a special numbing cream so I could achieve permanent makeup service. Meg has given me the beautiful girl I once recognized before my skin allergies changed my makeup wearing game. Thank you for giving me confidence again!

They did a horrible job on my cover up tattoo. When they still were in independence . I was in a whole bunch of pain too and he acted like I was annoying him. And was getting mad at me. The women offered me numbing spray that he could of offered me in the first place. I walked out there with a half covered tattoo that looked horrible. I went to someone else and he did way better and told me that the person from purgatory didnt know what what he was doing at. ALL

Kris was an awesome tattoo artist! Very personable, knowledgeable and friendly. Price was fantastic! His wife is wonderful also! Very happy with the make-over of my moons.

Came in for a walk in yesterday to get this. Jason was great and double, triple inspected any portion that mightve been missed and was careful on the more sensitive spots. Its still healing, but its doing great so far. They dont judge and the owner is very warm and welcoming. Im glad I came in. Thanks, guys!! ^^

I came in to get a tattoo on my arm. Coming to Purgatory was a great decision. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the establishment was professional and laid back, and extremely clean. Jason was my tattoo artist and he did a phenomenal job. He came up with a beautiful design for my tattoo and made sure I was comfortable. Hes definitely going to be my tattoo artist for my future tats and I highly recommend this place ^_^

So awesome! By far the cleanest tattoo shop I’ve ever been to. Now, Kyle....has a awesome hand! Don’t expect stick figures , they take pride in their work. Definitely family / friend environment.

I was completely disappointed with this place! My boyfriend and I live 12 hours apart and have met several times in Kansas City since its the half way mark for us both. After much research and reading reviews, we decided on Purgatory to get a piercing. According to their website, their hours are Monday-Saturday 9am-5pm. We got there around 11:30am on Monday to find out that they were closed. My boyfriend and I were looking up info on other tattoo shops in the area and were only in their parking lot for a few minutes. A red truck with the shops name on it pulled up (Assume it was the owner). He approached our vehicle with a pipe/rod in his hand and told us we were in a private lot. We told him why we were there and he got attitude with us, stating they havent been open on a Monday in 15 years. I could understand if it was late at night and we were loitering or if he had asked us to leave prior and we did not leave..... But to approach us with a pipe in his hand like he was ready to beat the crap out of someone was completely uncalled for!!!! And to have attitude with us for no reason was extremely unprofessional. If they havent been open on Mondays for 15 years you would think they could at least update their website!

Meg and her crew are doing it right! What a fun atmosphere and clean shop. You wont go wrong getting your permanent makeup done with Meg. Shell make you feel beautiful 😍

I went to Inkd and classy! The girls in there were so fun to be around, kind and made me feel comfortable! Loved this place and will be going back!

When i entered inside the shop i was little bit scared that it will pain alot but my thinking goes wrong.. Absolutely LOVE Purgatory Tattoos! I just had my second tattoo done there, Toby did this last one that started at my shoulder and went down my arm. He was extremely careful to make sure it was what I wanted and had some GREAT ideas! I will be going back to have him touch up some older tattoos soon!Chris also did my sons tattoo who was in town on leave from the Navy and also my fiancés tattoo. Once again, never disappointed.My son will be flying back into KC from Seattle the end of March and already has plans to visit for Purgatory for another tattoo.Professionalism and Cleanliness of the shop outstanding. We are forever Purgatory Customers!!!

I did a walk in by myself just to get information about them doing piercings. I walk in and there about 4/5 biker looking guys standing around the front desk. I felt a little intimidated by me being a woman. I told them that I was interested in my daughter getting a nose piercing and wanted information. They were very friendly, polite, and advised me they no longer do piercing, but gave me the information of another tatoo parlor that was reputable. When I decide to get my tatoo, these will be the place for me. Good Customer Service goes a long way with me especially when Im spending my money.. Thanks for reading!
