Hooded Crow Tattoo

Walked in for Friday the 13th, and the entire place reeked of weed. Employees and/or customers were openly smoking inside the building. After looking at the flash sheets and speaking to one employee I discovered that a sheet that was advertised as $80 on Facebook was actually being done at $100. The artist also said that he wouldnt do the design on the sheet in the size it was shown at due to it being too small to get the details in, yet it wasnt a highly detailed design at all. My friend and I walked out due to the entire environment being uninviting and unsanitary.

Mike just did an amazing sleeve for me. Was patient, understanding to my needs and has an awesome shop. Won’t ever go anywhere else!

I got my very first tattoo today, and the owners were just fantastic!! Crystal was my tattoo artist and she helped me feel better and more relaxed by helping me with my numbing cream. Most importantly she kept her work station clean and sanitized. I did end up fainting after getting my tattoo, and they helped me to the floor without me hitting it and even giving me a pillow until I could safely get up and feel better. I would 100% get your tattoo done here if you’re looking to get one!

Ill just say this, I would travel back to Owensboro from South Dakota to get work done by Crystal or Mike again.Professional, very meticulous, and amazing work! They make you feel comfortable and they wont do a design they arent confident in. Love, love, love what Ive gotten from both of them!!!

I am very disappointed in the policy here. I had an appointment for a tattoo and i informed them ahead of time that my work schedule is up in the air. I was told before I made a deposit that I would be worked with. Instead, my deposit was taken and I was asked for another deposit before I could reschedule. I understand the need for a deposit and that isn’t my issue. My issue is not working with your clientele. I also asked if I were to reschedule and pay yet another deposit if my first one would count towards the tattoo and I was told no and to take it up with the owner. They give great tattoos here but their business practice is terrible. I will not be back.

Very clean and laid-back shop with a nice seating/waiting area separated from the artists booths. I visited with the piercer, Kayla, to change out some of my jewelry and she was so polite and knowledgeable. Nice to see such a clean, friendly tattoo and piercing shop in Owensboro!

Crystal and Mike are both amazing. I love how artistic and and clean the shop is as well.The artists are very seasoned and up to date on their technics. They have done several infact 99.9% of our tattoos mine and my husbands. We have never walked away disappointed. I would recommend them for any piece you are looking for.

Honestly, wouldn’t let anyone touch me. 100% know I’m in great hands and Crystal is personally my artist and I just have to tell her what I’m visioning and she always exceeds my expectations. Genuinely cares about their artwork and will help you with placements. Clean reliable services and always welcoming and will explain everything throughly. Wouldn’t recommend anyone else.

I took my 10 year old daughter to get her ears pierced and Kayla was absolutely amazing. She explained everything to her in detail from what she was doing with the tools at her station, to the sterilization process, to care after. She was professional while being so much fun and easing my daughter’s nerves. Would absolutely recommend Kayla!! ❤️

Edited, which this isnt a reflection on Hooded Crow Tattoo, bc the business is very nice, super clean and great environment....but I was working with a particular artist and he did a great job, as an artist hes fantastic, and everything seemingly was going well, I had rescheduled an appointment and after that..... Communication went sour. I had an appt booked for a certain day, texted him, Hey are we still good for today? Shoot me a time so Ill know.. no response. I text him again, hey am I still good to come in today? Does 1 work for you? Let me know........ Nothing still. Checked my email, sent him an email, this bro literally ghosted me. And still to this day has given no response, no hey sorry for the delay. And its a shame too bc I really wanted him to finish what was started. So thats why I gave them 5 stars, but bc of that.... Maybe it was bc I didnt tip? But you know sometimes things happen. I was going to...... Sad it didnt plan out but oh well.

I paid in full for a 2 session tattoo or I was told! I broke out in hives all over the day of my second session so I messaged Crystal to tell her we may need to do everything except the places the hives are and I’ll pay for an extra sitting. She says let’s just reschedule so I said ok. It took months to get in which I understand. But the day before my appointment I messaged her to make sure the time was right and she said yes. I drove the hour but as soon as I got down there she messaged me that she overbooked and had to reschedule me again, that would have been fine but I messaged to see when and she ignored the messages for 3 days. I finally requested a partial refund if she wouldn’t reschedule me. They don’t give refunds so please if you trust these people and have to sit more than 1 session NEVER pay up front! I’m more sad than I am angry because I love my tattoo but I feel like I can’t let someone tattoo me that I don’t trust anymore.

Excellent work and humble folks. Crystals work on brows and lip shading is fabulous! Customers walk out looking like a million bucks. Highly recommend them for your needs. And of course the ink work is on point also.

Such an awesome group of people here. I cannot recommend them enough!! Their creativity, thoughtfulness and desire to make their customers happy makes them so great to work with! Their shop is beautiful and clean. They take great pride in their work.

Out of all of the tattoo shops I have been to, this one is by far the cleanest one I’ve been to. When you walk in the place it is so warming, and gorgeous and full of hand made pieces. I will forever go to Crystal and compliment her artistic abilities.

My husband and I absolutely loved getting pieces from these guys. They were very friendly and open to our ideas. Its always a little nerve wracking walking into a new tattoo shop but we were at ease right away. And we love our ink;)

Crystal is highly talented and knowledgeable in the areas of sanitary practice. Her Microblading skills are fantastic! She know how to gauge the shape of your brows to your specific facial structure. And for tattoos, you will not find anyone more creative, or someone who puts their whole heart into a piece like she does....5 STARS FOR SURE!

I was talking to grine about getting a full sleeve and said I’d pay in full and that I’d like to set an appointment, he said that he had an opening on a certain day and that I could book it, I said that’s fine and he said to go to shop to design and I went and he wasn’t even there, also he ignored my txt once I said I can be there at a specific time then totally ghosted me after that.
