The Asylum Tattoo and Art Gallery was great! Danny Sexton is a very talented artist and I would recommend him for anyone who is interested in getting a tattoo from your 1st to your hundredth. My son talked with Dannys week before setting up an appointment, he was very confident and knowledgeable. It was my son’s first tattoo and it was in memory of his son Ashton. “My grandson” who will forever be 3.5 months old. So the tattoo had so much meaning and purpose.

First communications with this shop and impressions were great. The artist assigned to my sister and I couldnt give us a price at first or much to details until they saw us in person which was normal and was very polite.Going to the shop its like a big family, everyone smiling, laughing together, kids playing watching their parents work, music in the back to relax everyone, it was great.When our artist comes in though, hes a bit unapproachable as my sister and I try to talk to him, when discussing the style of my tattoo makes negative remarks about the positioning and unnatural angle that I drew them in, which was fine as they were just to be reference idea of having the two bugs flying towards each other, I drew them with wings tilted to show them headed towards each other, and when he went the style of them being lined up instead, the wing position wasnt fixed so theyre quite unbalanced, its my fault in that i didnt notice that until wiping the blood away at the end as he was finished.Mike was difficult to be comfortable approaching with their demeanor as in part was given the impression I was acting as an idiot so I just went with it, though we eventually broke the ice during the tattoo with some bad jokes. Both my sisters and my own tattoo bled quite a bit despite being about 4 Sq inches, and I felt immediately naseous after as well.At the end, I asked if we could get like a plastic cover or something on our tattoos as Ive seen others have, and he stated that wasnt something he really did, that most people brought in those materials themselves.We were sent out the door being recommended a couple tattoo creams, that are repuable, with nothing covering our still bleeding tattoos other than a blue paper towel each. Have been told this is not the norm.Ive read other reviews about Mike being detailed oriented, works with their client on design, and doing well, I wish we had had that experience as well. I really hope if my sister gets a touch up that its on a better day for everyone involved.Everyone was good in conversation, just please remember when youre having a bad day not to let that impact the experience of your client.Really hope you have a better day, and this review does not speak for the other artists, nor what the every day may be, but that today seemed an off one and wishing for a better one next time.

I went in with a few images that didnt really work together. Mike and I worked together to make a custom piece that I love. Hes focused, straight forward, and his work is beyond belief, with details that others might have missed. He listens to his customers and pays attention to the persons limits instead of pushing through just to finish. I cannot recommend him enough.

Great place to go & get a tattoo / any piercing. Great atmosphere & super clean. Would recommend to anyone looking for these services. Fair price for what I got.

Very satisfied with my experience with Danny. He did an amazing cover-up for a fair price and in a timely manner. Hes very friendly and is great at what he does. I feel some mistake his friendliness for flirting. My husband and I visited his shop and all 3 of us carried on good conversation for the entire 2.5 hours we were there. Hes great at what he does. Ive only had 2 tats counting this one i got today If I decide to add more art to my body Danny will be the guy to do the job. Highly recommend him. Thanks again Danny!

Over the course of 20 years, I have had Danny do tattoos and piercings on me. He has done 2 sets of ear piercings on my daughter and my sons first set. Its always quick, clean, painless, and affordable. Ill always go back and have my work done with Danny.

Danny did my daughters first 2 tattoos and did an amazing job! Someone else pierced her belly button(in Evansville) and it stayed infected. So she took it out, let it heal and we had Danny do it this time. I wouldn’t go anywhere but here!

Went during a flash sale on friday the 13th to get my bridge and my partners first lobes done. Well to start off they didnt have the bars for my bridge to be done right which is fair you run out of jewelry but then tried to talk me into using a tongue bar, curved bar(too big), or a septum bell. If you know anything about peircings you know that all of those are wrong for a bridge and could migrate or reject. So i turned it down and asked for my 2nd lobe peircing since i had already paid for thhe hole. Then they decided to use a punch. Not a gun, a disposable puncher. And when i asked she told me it was new regulations because of hygiene.(lie) I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Turns out they gave us plated jewelry that flaked in my partners ear and they tightned the jewelry too tight. They also told him to use bactine. So with all this both of his peircings got infected and we had to take them out. I took one out and asylum did the other. She was so aggressive that she made it bleed. The one i did was moreso infected than that and i was gentle and didnt make it bleed. And after all this they pinned the blame on us and it looks like im not getting a refund. Go to lady luck. Theyve been so helpful though this whole thing and they use needles instead of punchers.

Went to the Asylum for multiple tattoos by Codi Caine, which have all come out excellent, and Danny Sexton, the owner, has done many piercings that came out great and healed properly. They take the time to explain aftercare and have a very welcoming enviroment.

Just left from a walk-in with Danny - truly a great experience! Very fun to talk to, and did a great job! Would recommend to anyone looking for a tattoo :)

They were very unprofessional and as soon as we walked in it smelled like cigarettes and everyone was sitting around talking except for one person who was doing everything. We waited about an hour for Danny to finish up a tattoo which looked good so that was comforting. Then paperwork was signed and then we went to one of the setups went went on with it. He didnt use a clamp and absolutely just moved the needle round and round to find the other hole. It was a horizontal tongue piercing btw. It ended up being taken out because the jewelry was too small for the amount of swelling and we went to contact them on Facebook where they were more than happy enough to talk to us about the piercing before doing it, and they left us on open which they have don previously after giving sloppy tattoos. They will get you in there to get your money and then not communicate with you until you want more things done. Wouldnt recommend, go to Lady Luck or Shaka instead. I havent been to Shaka but Ill bet that it is much better.

This shop is AMAZING!!I came in on Independence Day. Hoping to get my nose pierced and a small tattoo🤞🏽. When I arrived I was greeted politely by a cute caramel skinned gentleman named Shawn. He told me that they could get me in today, so after doing my paperwork we both walked over to watch one of the artists tattooing the owner and I was able to sit with them untill she finished. Afterwards Ashley was able to get me in to tattoo some beautiful writing on my arm. Thanks yall so much!! Ill be back!!

They do an amazing job!!!! Theu have done my daughters ear piercings and last night a nose piercing and they are so friendly. Its like being around famoly and friends just hanging out but they keep their skills definitely professional. Definitely reccomend.

Danny would rather talk to 17yr old girls and flirt then do a tattoos. Says they close at 9pm but if you show up at 730 they complain about showing up to late for them. They would rather group up and chat then do tattoos. Thumbs down and will never try to go there again. Go to shaka, way better customer service.

We are from out of state.. Went here bc my cousin (who lives close) heard good things and had an appointment.. Me and my sister got matching tattoos from the same guy that was not busy atm.. They are now infected and both look horrible.. The work was not shop worthy.. We could of paid $40, instead of $100, and had a guy that does it out of his house do a way better job.. I wanted to leave this here to let others know to avoid going here.. Waste of money and its permanent😥 Id ask for a refund if I could smh

I was there for black friday. We were fortunate to get 2 tats done. The first tat we did early in the day and paid $13 each, it took a total of 1.f hours with wait time. Seeing tats were as low as $13 for black friday, that wasnt bad. Then we went back and got a second tattoo, that was a 7hr total time fir both of us an wait time. We were the last to go in and get done. It made for a ling night but we made lots of friend and reminded me of a night at the roxy.

Got a tattoo they charged me 300 dollars and the tattoo was crooked and didnt even go deep in to stay had to pay 200 dollars to someone else else to get it fixed because the people wouldnt get back with me after I sent them the picture of what they did
