Elva is an incredible artist. My wife and I went in for our first tattoos and we both could not be happier. Elva is a super talented tattoo artist and modest about her level of talent. She is also an awesome person. We will be going back for our second tats as we are now hooked. A shout out to Elvas assistant as she answered all emails and questions quickly and thoroughly.

I had originally heard of Elva and The Blank Slate through an old coworker who posted her new tattoo on FB. I was in the market for a new piece as well as a new artist. Elvas style on my friend matched the exact style I was looking for. I already had pictures of reference and I emailed Elva per her site. Let me tell you, the fact that she got back to me within 24 hours was already a plus to me. She was professional and to the point on what she needed from me next. After I booked my appointment I did have a few questions/concerns regarding my tattoo, style and placement. Without hesitation she emailed me back at her convenience and followed up with all my issues, which put my mind at ease. Through our emails Elva knew I had to arrange for babysitting services in order to keep my appointment and anytime there was an update to her schedule for our tattoo date, she made sure to notify me. The day of the tattoo Elva greeted me and made me feel super comfortable in her studio. We chatted about all different things and I felt like I was hanging with a friend, not just some random stranger I literally just met. I was so impressed with all her knowledge of tattoos and the history of it, it was great to lay back and have a listen . Elva you are amazing and I am so happy to have met you and be tattooed by a person of your skill and caliber. Thank you again and I cant wait to work with you again!!!

Elva is the best tattoo artist to work with - she listens to the smallest details of whats important to you and ensures your work is original. She has tattooed me 3x, and 7 of my friends multiple times. the art ranges from full color to all black and grey, small to large, realism to geometric patterns to Greek textures to neo traditional to traditional to black dot work and everything in between. her pricing is fair and she will work to make sure you are 100% happy with the art. She is the only tattoo artist who I trust completely.

I’m so lucky to have found Elva. She’s not only an amazing artist that is helping me with my sleeve but she’s an amazing person. Her story and history is inspiring and I don’t even mind driving 3 hours each way to get her beautiful art on my body. I will always recommend her.

Got two pieces, one on each bicep, consisting of fine text. I have other text tattoos, and the more I look at the ones Elva did, Im surprised she didnt try to talk me into a larger font. She really did some incredible and precise work in light of the size of the text, and I didnt really realize how much I had asked of her until they were on my person and I saw them alongside my other pieces. From my research and from the work she did on me, I believe Elva is the best tattoo artist in the Poughkeepsie/Dutchess County area. Her high technical skills mean you dont have to worry about what style tattoo youre looking to get. This is where you want your work done.

I took my son for his first tattoo. I was recommended by a friend too use Blank Slate. We walked in and we were greeted professionally and sat in the lounge. It is a very clean facility and highly recommend The Blank Slate for anyone looking for great tattoo work. The awards and trophies on the walls there are true proof of what to expect on your visit. We will be back!
