I’ve been getting tattooed by Mike Prickett for over 20 years now. There is a reason for that, and that I am willing to drive from Louisville, KY to get work done at Hummingbird Tattoos. If you are considering having tattoo work done I highly recommend coming to see these folks!

Mike did my sister and my tattoos on Monday. This was my first tattoo and it was a really good experience. The studio was very clean and pretty. Love all the hummingbird artwork and the meaning behind it. Mike was really cool and great to talk to. I’ll be back here for more.

I found Mike P after a Google search for a cover up artist. I was 19 years old when I got my 2nd tattoo. A drunk cat. Oy. I had an artist look at it about 8 years ago and he wouldnt touch it. I searched again this Spring and found Mike. Consulted in April. Booked for August. He was up for the challenge. All I can say is this is my 5th tattoo over 31 years and by far the best experience. Ever. Mike is just a good human. And it radiates from him. He gave me a cover up and a true piece of art. Thank you Mike!

I worked with Mike when he was at a different shop and I had originally was attracted by his art there. Nan suggested we get memorial pieces for her younger brother who transitioned while deployed on foreign soil. Mike handled both our forearm pieces professionally and skillfully.I have already scheduled my next project with Mike and look forward to developing and completing the upcoming work with him.

Went with my sister to get hummingbird tattoos together. It was her first tattoo and Mike P made everything so relaxed and easy, and everything was clean and sterile. We got exactly what we had been wanting, and some awesome conversation as well. Thanks so much!

Mike is a truly amazing artist and has done quite a few tattoos on me over the past 10 years. Every time I go in the new drawing somehow is better than the last and they’ve all come out beautifully. The color has stayed super bright and solid years down the road and I’m always complimented on how clean the tattoos look. He’s always been professional and easy to work with, and is easily the only person I recommend to anyone who wants a fantastic tattoo that will hold forever.

My whole family has tattoos from Mike Prickett. He is definitely the only guy we will ever go to. You tell him ideas and he draws a perfect tattoo every time. This time I got a matching tattoo with my son (will post picture when they are healed) and have already scheduled an appointment for my next one!

I got my first tattoo here! And then 3 more. Mike is just an incredible artist and a wonderful person. I really enjoyed chatting with him during the process, it made the time fly by and distracted me from the pain. The studio itself is gorgeous and creative. I love my tattoos....they are simple but perfect. My best friend got a large complex one and it is stunning.

I brought my son here for his 18th birthday to get his first tattoo. Hands down, the best decision ever!!! Not only did Mike explain what he was doing, he explained WHY he did it. Mike P did a great job taking my sketch and turning into exactly what I wanted. He was patient as I communicated the placement and his shop is welcoming. Would highly recommend!

Spent about 6 hours with Michael yesterday getting work done for myself and my fiancé. All I can say is how amazing a person Michael is. His talent is only second to his personality. You will not be upset by his amazing work the super chill vibe in his shop. Michael will talk you through everything. Just the best! I recently completed having my 4th tattoo done here. As a senior woman, I was concerned about placement due to aging skin & quality. No worries - Not only did Mike [Prickett - owner] design beautiful art incorporating my themes, he was very helpful in suggesting options and considerations. The shop is extraordinarily clean and has a great energy. Mike is just an awesome guy all around - and cares greatly about his clients, his art, his studio, his community.... just to name a few! If youre considering a tattoo - you wont go wrong coming here! Ill be scheduling my next visit in a couple of months :)

Mike McCollum is extremely talented and professional. He was always in communication with me. Before I found Hummingbird I wasted 2 months at another tattoo shop in Columbus and was treated horrible, like I was lucky just to book time with them. I called and got ahold of Mike and he actually listened to me and what I wanted. I got a full arm sleeve done and it is really amazing. They exceeded my expectations and so happy I chose this place and Mike. If you are serious about getting good work done then look no further.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! My daughters and I were coming in from Colorado for my moms memorial service and wanted matching forget-me-not flower pieces. Reached out to Mike and were all set within a few days! He adjusted the design for the best outcome and took personal care of my youngest, as she is only 17, and Brandon catered to my oldest and I. Super nice guys with attention to detail, VERY clean and highly professional! Michael was great to work with from the initial consulation. He was responsive and listened to what I wanted. My cover up of an old and poorly applied Marine Corps tatttoo wasnt easy but he was able to get it done successfully. I am extremely happy and will go back for sure! Very clean shop and they care for the customer. Best I have ever experienced.

This is a wonderful place to get a tatoo. I have gotten 3 tattoos from Mike. All three of them are scar cover ups. Mike is awesome and will help you make the right decision about what to get. The quality of work is amazing and if I get anymore tattoos, this will be the only place I go. The staff is awesome as well. My last tatto took a while and the other gentlemen there a d Mike made the time go fast by making me laugh. Its just an over great place and I highly recommend them. I’ve known Mike for a long time because of him donating his time to help survivors cover up brandings and scars. He recently did a tattoo for my daughter and me. I can’t say enough good things about him. As a person and a tattoo artist. He is a master of his craft and I always enjoy the conversation and time he gives during the appt. I got my first tattoo and Matt did an awesome job. He explained the whole process beforehand and was a big help with placement of my tattoo on my wrist. There was some confusion about the appointment time but he was able to get it taken care of. The shop great, clean and fun. Very happy with my tattoo and Matt. Already have plans for my next one!

I got a pretty decent size tattoo today and it was a lot cheaper here than other places priced it and it looks exactly like the picture!! Michael was my artist and he did a wonderful job. He was very polite and friendly. I highly recommend this place!

They were great , had some great artwork done by mike McCollum and he was extremely patient, polite , and Great at his work , he also gave me 2 free touch ups when the ink didn’t settle well on one part of the piece , definitely recommend and definitely coming back

Mike P. did an amazing job as always, my design was perfect and he took the time to make sure the placement was right where we wanted it. A true and gentle spirit is suspended in the air here. I walked in to the front room, and was met by Mike. In our conversation there were ideas talked about , and many things agreed upon.If you are worried about a feeling of how your tattoo may turn out. Put your mind at rest, they are professionals here. But more importantly, a conversation to be had, and know that you may leave with a great new tattoo work, but more so you will leave as a friend.

I stopped in to ask about getting a tattoo in honor of my mother who passed the day before. I wasn’t even greeted, just grumpily told “we don’t accept walk ins”. I only wanted one tiny word on my finger, which would have taken minutes; the man was totally dismissive and rude.

Everyone is so cool and make you feel comfortable. The shop is a sight to see! Very colorful and interesting artworks. Brandon created the image Id chosen. He replicated the design with his own touches on my shoulder and did a fanominal job. Very beautiful lines! I love it! Its well worth the drive.

Got my first tattoo 30 years ago. I finally decided what I wanted the 2nd to be and Mike helped me work out what I liked and he worked up an amazing piece. If and when I decide on a 3rd I will go back to him. I recommend him on the highest level!

I came in a few months ago with 5 other people for tattoos and I was happy that they fit us in the next day with Brandon. He was great and personable, but unfortunately we are NOT happy with our tattoos. My tattoo lost ink within 3 days and when I asked to come back, I was told I would have to pay again. My mom got a tattoo and the needle was pushed too hard into her skin, so it looks like the Ink is smeared and that is something that is not able to be fixed. My aunts tattoo lost the ink as well in places, just to give some examples. I am not happy with my experience at all. Given that a higher percentage of us had more bad experiences than good, I would not recommend this place. We were rushed the entire time as well, which is not something you want when getting something permanent on your skin. Luckily, I was able to go back to my hometown tattoo artist and he inked me again at no cost. We are very unhappy with my experience.

Mike did an amazing job on a cover-up tattoo. He is very creative and professional. The studio is clean and has a welcoming vibe. I highly recommend this studio.

Best tattoo shop Ive ever been to in a long time very clean very sterile they take a lot of precautions and drawing up your tattoo setting your appointment and if you have to have two appointments he goes ahead and schedules it Mike is very very good and I love this tattoo shop
