Good Neighbor Tattoo

I am extremely picky about my tattoos, as one should be. Ive been to a few tattoo parlors and never once have I WANTED to leave a review but this is something I have to do. I got a recommendation to go here and I will be back. For most or all of my other tattoos that I have planned out. Amazing work from Ryan! He is a fast worker, nice, superrrr funny and easy to get along with. My friends and I were there for about 3 hours and we were laughing the entire time. You will feel right at home as soon as you walk in. The prices are reallyy good as well. I have nothing bad to say about this place. I will be back again and again!!! It is worth it!

My friend and I walked in last night to get a tattoo before flying back home. Amazing experience. Super clean, the guys were great. Got us in and we had the best time. Plus, our tattoos look amazing. They took their time and made the whole experience incredible! Can’t wait to come back next time I’m in town!

Some of the best customer service Ive ever received from a tattoo shop. No reason to be intimidated coming here, everyone is helpful and takes care of you the second you come in. Arne is my artist and I highly recommend him if youre looking to get work done.

Shawna was the kindest, most professional person. She pierced my daith. She answered all my questions ahead of time and she took the time to make sure I would be a good candidate for the piercing before committing to the service. It went smooth, until I got light headed after the piercing. I was a bit embarrassed but Shawna and Jose (I think is his name. I didnt actually officially meet him) took care of me and insisted on making sure I felt 100% before letting me leave. They fed me Gatorade and water until I started to get some color back in my cheeks. The time and care they took was incredible!! It means so much to me that they would make the effort to make sure I was okay. Not everybody wouldve done that. They were both so kind. The customer service is amazing here. I will never go anywhere else! Thank you Shawna and Jose!

Im a novice at tattoos and the whole industry really, a later bloomer so to speak. My husband and kids are veterans each with several tattoos of their own. Several of which were from past Good Neighbor Tattoo artists. I followed all my familys advice about talking to an artist about my custom design concept for my first big real tattoo for my thigh and even searched based on their recommendations and by viewing portfolios online.When it came to actually working with the apprentice artist, Oscar the process was not made clear after our first meeting when he gave me a flash tattoo (which I do love for the hilarity factor). I provided my sketch and pictures of ideas for a custom tattoo right then, which was the first week of February. There was no mention of deposits at this time but I was clear I wanted it in mid-March.I kept reaching out through IG for information but it wasnt until 2 weeks before the time I requested that he said 1) he couldnt remember if I paid a deposit and 2) that it was $50. I provided the deposit of $60 because I didnt have change on 3/12. I reached out again on 3/19, no response then again on 3/23. By this time I had allocated a whole week off of work for this tattoo that I cant get back. He gave me excuses which may be have been valid but his lack of professionalism, communication and general disorganization left much to be desired. The conversation ended with mutual agreement to not go forward, primarily because I offered to draw it myself to help get the ball rolling (given hes too busy) and because of my feeling of being ignored (which are both valid) offended him. Unrelated to our transaction, he unexpectedly cancels my daughters appointment too via email because of his personal issues with me which seems to show a lack of maturity in this situation from my perspective.I do want to say that another Artist, John, who I spoke to in person at the shop was very professional, understanding of the situation and tried to make things right. Everyone else I have dealt with in this shop in the past (Anisa rocks!) has been 100% professional, communicative, awesome and welcoming. Hopefully some of that can rub off on this Oscar fella because hes a good budding artist but his communication, organization, and professionalism needs serious work. Not a good first timer experience.

My husband and I have gotten most of our tattoos here, and all of my piercings. The artists are fantastic, and everything is clean, sanitary and well maintained. Arne is amazing!!!

I had a seriously phenomenal experience w Anisa and Ryan. Anisa pierced my nose and she is just so lovely and professional. She did a great job. But my twins ripped it out after the first day. So I called & Anisa was off but Ryan offered to fix me. He didnt charge me and basically it was a really hard job to do b/c my nose tissue was traumatized and swollen. He did amazing. And then he even ran to my car to check on me and to give me after care advice. They deserve 10 stars.

I have a LOT of ink and have had a lot of artists, some that have left a bad taste in my mouth. So going in, I was cautious. My artist (Gordo) was extremely understanding to my concerns and even supported my thoughts of how wrong the past artist was. Gordo was extremely light handed, very clean work environment and very beautiful work! Im so glad I found him and I will be going back in the future. Also, all of the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

You guys seriously finding Anisa at good neighbor tattoo today was such a life saver. so originally last friday i went to dermal grafix to get my tragus pierced with my sisters. the piercer there was not friendly, and did not do a good job piercing me or my sister. she pierced my tragus way too close to my head, than the actual tragus which caused way more pain and not the right placement that i wanted at all. on top of that she used a straight bar that was meant for the lip instead of a curved piercing for the tragus. which in turn allowed for absolutely no swelling to happen causing me more pain. when i went to good neighbor this afternoon, it was because the ball on the front of my tragus has fallen out... because dermal grafix did not tighten it at all. and within the three hours that i had to wait until i could see Anisa, my pericing closed and the infection was bad. as soon as i went to good neighbor Anisa was literally so friendly and so ready to fix was was messed up. she immediately told me everything that was wrong with my pricing from the wrong placement, to my infection that was developing, to the wrong jewelry they used. she gave me my options on what i could do and wasn’t in a rush to make me make a decision which i loved. she was so sweet. she ended up helping me clean out my infection, and putting in a curved piece of jewelry that was initially what was supposed to go in my tragus. since then the swelling has gone down, and my ear doesn’t feel so stuck because i have the correct jewelry in now. she even gave me after care instructions and tips on how to clean and tighten... which dermal grafix did not. also i want to add that Anisa works so quick when putting in jewelry that it literally did not hurt at all. especially since i had an infection and was already hurting in that area, it did not hurt!! if any of you aren’t looking for a good piercer go to good neighbor tattoo in san marcos. Anisa really knows what she is doing and she really cares for her clients!

My friend Arne works here. Laid back shop with friendly people. Each artist brings a different style to the table and all the work Ive seen come out of here is top notch.

Arne has been tattooing me for nearly four years, and has been doing fantastic from day one. Reasonable pricing and amazing work, plus a solid movie collection to watch while being worked on.

Hands down, the best tattoo shop in San Marcos. Ive been getting tattooed at GN ever since the Escondido days and Ive never been disappointed with the work they do. I highly recommend.

I got my septum pierced today Savahan did such a great job!!!! Ive had it pierced before from a different piercer. There is no comparison!!!! Savahna did amazing!!!

Spent six hours on a portrait of my mom came out looking like lil tay with dreads. I’m not joking, stay away from Arnie if you want a portrait the other dudes are good.

I’m only 12 lol but I got a helix piercing there and I was very scared and nervous but they calmed me down and the girl who pierced my ear did a very good job and I’m OBSESSED with it I’m going to go back to get another piercing for my birthday I recommend this place!

The truth is that it is a very professional place, I met them when they were in hiding, I have several tattoos that the aforementioned guy (GORDO) gave me, who knows if he still works there, I will soon hire a friend because I recommended this place, and I recommend it very professional and attentive.
