The best experience I’ve had with piercing! Got my nipples pierced and was a little nervous about how it would go. Most shops, it’s done very quickly and you’re sent on your way with aftercare instructions. Shane took his time to make sure you’re comfortable & he is sooo thorough in explaining everything about the piercing and after care. The shop is clean and neat. He was so professional and kind and made the whole experience smooth and easy. Highly recommend. Wanted my tragus pierced and called several shops to check availability and pricing. Shane was by FAR the most professional of everyone I spoke with. His glowing reviews are legit! Seriously the BEST place you can possibly go. Ive had a variety of piercings over the years, but my experience with Shane was hands down the best one. I had a snug piercing a few years back that rejected on me, but I missed it so much. After talking to Shane thoroughly about my options, we opted for a faux snug (conch, helix) that would look like my old snug, but heal significantly better.Shane took his time to find the best placement for both piercings and I never felt rushed throughout the process. When he was choosing the jewelry sizes, he made sure to account for post-piercing swelling and added a bit of buffer room so Id be the most comfortable during the healing process. He took extra care to space out the two piercings so it would look like a snug, but Id also have the flexibility to wear other jewelry for a completely different look.I dont even live in Arizona but will only be coming back to Shane during vacations whenever I need something done.

Absolutely phenomenal customer service. Respectful, informative, doesnt make you feel rushed, cleanliness is astronomical compared to most places Ive been during pandemic. This was my first time getting piercings done here (forward helix and tragus) and it will be the only place I get pierced, here on out. I picked this place out based on the reviews and when they werent open I almost chose to go to another shop but Im so glad I waited! Shane met every expectation and more. My daughter and I both got piercings and Shane took the time to go over everything with us so that we felt comfortable with our choices. He is more concerned with customer satisfaction than the bottom dollar. I appreciate that the shop follows all of the recommended steps for safety, for them and their customers, with requiring masks, booking by appointment only and precautions in cleaning. We just needed a simple jewelry replacement and Shane happily obliged! Good selection of jewelry and very considerate to ensure the jewelry picked was the right fit for the piercing. I can’t speak highly enough of Shane and his piercing mastery. He was extremely patient and flexible with me switching my appointment a few times, and was very accommodating at every point in the process. I got my ears double pierced for my birthday May of 2020 and they healed perfectly. The piercer (Shaun or Shane) did an amazing job. He made sure to mark my ear, made sure my partner and I both liked where it would end up, and took his time. He was also extremely honest with my partners piercing since there was too much muscle. Instead of just doing he said he didnt feel comfortable and made sure we didnt waste the money on it. I was extremely impressed by his honesty and his upfront approach with us. I highly recommend them!

Shane is an amazing piercer and did a great job for my first piercing. I was really nervous but he was able to put me at ease, he did an amazing quick (almost) painless job, and spent a lot of time with aftercare instructions. The piercing is healing great because of the amazing job he did, I cant recommend Mastodon enough!

The best piercing experience you can get in the east valley. Shane is gentle, thoroughly explains what to expect and how to properly care for your piercing. If your anatomy does not support the piercing you wanted he will advise against it, not just take the money. My piercings are looking and feeling great one year later. I highly recommend Mastadon for any piercing or even if you are just curious about it.

I have known Shane for at least 15 years and would not go anywhere else for a piercing. I dont care how good they say thet are. Shane is the best, a true master at his craft. He is extremely gentle and thorough. And somewhat of a perfectionist which I can appreciate being that I am altering my bodys appearance. I have no doubt that had I gone anywhere else I would have had a very different experience. I barely felt nervous and I owe that 100% to Shane. Mastadon is also incredibly sanitary. I will recommend Shane any time, hands down. See you next time buddy!

This shop is awesome!! Everyone is so nice and Shane definitely knows what hes doing. I was so nervous about getting my tongue pierced but he made me feel so comfortable and explained everything to me. Shane is very knowledgeable and hes good at what he does. My friends told me to choose a shop by word of mouth but I chose this shop based on reviews and Im SO GLAD I did! I will be going back for any future piercings or tattoos!

July 3 I had an appointment at 2:45 to get my nose pierced. Shane was very nice and calming during the whole thing. The stories were great and we talked as if I’d known him and he was catching up. Shane did my tongue piercing and he was awesome! he was very informative, and he laid out perfect expectations of not only what was to come but exactly what he wanted me to do while he was piercing. the shop is very clean and definitely worth the visit! I bought tongue rings in bulk off Amazon and I brought them with me and Shane even measured those for me so I knew they were the right size!definitely recommend going here, and I know I will be back!

I would recommend Shane at Mastodon for sure. The place was nice and clean, health precautions being taken and he was very professional an cool to chat with.Im really happy with the way my pearcings look and fit. I had them done over the previous holes and through the scar tissue. It was quick and painless.Shane also hooked me up on the price for my birthday. Ill be getting more work done here in th future.

I recently got my nose pierced here by Shane. The shop was clean and the atmosphere was great. The staff was knowledgable and answered any questions I had. I enjoyed that Shane would go over the entire piercing process before it happened. The prices were reasonable as well. I will recommend this place to friends and family and I will be returning soon.

I love this place so much that I have decided to make it my one & only tat shop. This is where I will be getting my back piece, quarter sleeve, & all my piercings done. So far I have been here twice for piercings. The guys who do the piercings are amazing. I looked at the artists work & am looking forward to getting started on my tattoos. This shop has great prices, friendly artists who do amazing work, convenient hours, & its clean. I highly recommend it!

I went to this place yesterday to get a nose piercing. I was very nervous as this being my first piercing since I got my ears pierced as a baby. When I walked in the shop, Shane immediately made me feel welcome. He was patient and talked me through everything. Was very knowledgeable about how to pierce correctly so that the piercing would heal, how to care for the piercing, etc. I would definitely recommend this place especially Shane!

Shane was great! I got my lobes done after years of them being closed. Piercing was basically painless and no blood at all. Gave me the correct care sheet and a bottle of cleaner for buying the opal studs. Place was very clean with one person at a time allowed in. He also helped me remove the studs so I could wear whichever earrings I wanted. Will probably come back for other ear piercings. THIS is how ears are ment to be done instead of a gun at claires!!

Awsome place! The atmosphere is really nice and chill. They have really dope and classic jewellery. Shawn is a great piercer, very informative and talented. All 6 of my Helixes look great thanks to him. I gotta say that H20 Ocean helps so much!

Very professional establishment. They were very educated while helping pick out the perfect piercing for both my sister and I, so informative and precise through the entire piercing process (which might I add our artist was so gentle and you could tell he was very experienced), and gave an extensive personalized care regiment for each persons individual lifestyle after piercing to ensure swift and comfortable healing. This piercing parlor is super legit and I would recommend to anyone looking to get a piercing done the right way. If I plan on getting any more piercings I’ll make it a point to fly back down to Arizona and come back to this shop! Most enjoyable piercing experience I’ve had to date.

Shawn is an amazing piercer. He recently did a dermal anchor near my temple, it was placed perfectly. A couple months ago he did my snakebites as well. He was able to stretch one of them back open, but I had him repierce the other. All of them have healed up lovely! My husband also had his nose and snakebites done by Shawn. Hes very knowledgeable, and takes his time to explain everything to you. Will definitely be going back for my other piercings!

Mastodon Piercing and Tattoo was a wonderful experience. I mainly go here for Mary, she does my tattoos (shes freaking GREAT btw) but I went to get my nose repierced and Shane did an amazing job. I got the daith piercing done by Shane back in November 2019 due to migraines. Ive gotta say, it worked. Im so happy I found this place and went to Shane to get it done. I have not experience a bad migraine ever since. Im truly thankful.

Professional, talented, and honest. Had my tongue pierced for almost a decade, but left it out a few weeks and thought it had closed for good. Usually I could restretch it myself with a sharp taper, but had no luck after repeated attempts and thought it was gone for good this time. Was ready to hand over money and even suffer a new piercing/leftover scar. BUT Sean skillfully stretched the piecing (didnt even hurt!) and restored the ring to its rightful place. Communication was great from start to finish. Not to mention this was extremely affordable and the cost was conveyed to me upfront. So greatful for the quality experience—this sort of work is not something I want to take risks on and am glad to find a local, dependable place. Thanks again Sean!

The owner of Mastodon, Shane Ocell, is covering the costs of a different artist fixing the tattoo. I recommend Mastodon, but not Vinnie Rodriguez.
