Ikonic Tattoo

I was a walk-in and will definitely be coming back. I was tattooed by Joshua and he was so kind. I never once was curious as to where I was and how much longer I had.While I waited, I was fit in between appointments and no one waited long either. But while I waited, my 8yr old and I played the video game in their waiting area. It was a lot of fun. My daughter also stayed out and played while I got tattooed really quick. I felt safe leaving my daughter there because the place was so welcoming, and I knew if she needs me they wouldn’t be rude to her if she forgot how to get to the room.The pricing was great!The art work is beautiful and the place is VERY clean. I was going to a place close by, but it wasn’t a happy or welcoming place. This is a VERY warm and welcoming shop. I will definitely be going back.

Booked with Lex and it was by far the best session I have ever had! We sat down and connected immediately and had an amazing experience getting to know one another. The piece came out beautifully and she did everything I wanted and more. Already booked another session with her and there will absolutely be many more to come! Everyone is the shop is so welcoming and kind, such a positive and amazing atmosphere!

In the spring I had a large full color quad tattoo done by Joshua, and a few days ago had the shin done. Both were exactly what I wanted, and turned out amazing. The experience from the consultation to the completed product couldn’t have gone any better. Both ideas I had were a bit outlandish, but Joshua was able to bring them to life and make them better than I imagined they could be! I’ll be back to finish up the rest of the leg for sure!

Went in as walk-ins for a small memorial tattoo for a friend who passed. Kevin was our artist and he was super cool and kind and got us set up right away.Very nice place as well! Clean and chill. Definitely will be back for future tattoos!

Joshua was amazing to work with. It was my first tattoo, and I was so nervous. He put my mind at ease, and was great! I’m really super happy with my tattoo. It is a memorial piece, for my husband, that passed away in 2021, and I love it. I get so many compliments. I’ve even had a few people ask me for contact information, to go and schedule their own appointments. I can’t wait to add more tattoos!!!

I’ve had 7 tattoos done by Joshua and have loved every single one, the staff at Ikonic Ink are like a really good family to come back to once in awhile! Highly recommend going to them anytime someone wants their first tattoo or are looking for specific styles! Very much worth it.

I will only be getting my tattoos here from now on. They got back to me within the same day of messaging them, it was so quick. Each person I had talked to was so polite. Joshua did my tattoo yesterday. He was so nice. He did the tattoo pretty quick and he did an amazing job. I absolutely love the tattoo he did for me. I would love to have him do more tattoos for me in the future.

I have gotten tattoos from multiple artists here and have loved every experience! They are all so kind and do AMAZING work. I have gone to see Ethan, Kevin H, and John and they all have great personalities as well as portfolios. I recommend my friends to go there and i would personally recommend anyone!

Took my 15 year old to get her nose pierced and I had two dermals done by Jesse. I will forever go back there and only there. Jesse was amazing. Very clean and sterile environment. Incredibly friendly environment that makes you feel comfortable and at home when getting your tattoo. I received a piece on my leg from Kevin J with incredible attention to detail, texture, and shading that made my tattoo look ten times better than the reference photo I provided. My new go-to tattoo shop and artist. Cannot recommend enough.

Walked in on a Sunday afternoon was greated by Kevin j. I wanted to recreate a tattoo my father had gotten over 60 years ago, he took one look and knew exactly what I wanted and drew a perfect likeness within minutes! service was great, shop was extremely clean. Ive already scheduled my next tattoo with him and would definitely refer friends!

Came in as a walk in & Kevin J did an amazing job on a shark tattoo for me. it was my first rib tattoo & he was always checking in & making sure i was okay & comfortable. receptionist was so so sweet. 10/10 will definitely be back :))

This past Saturday I had an appointment with Ash and this was my very first tattoo - so coming into the appointment I was a bit nervous but as soon as I met Ash those feelings went away. She was so welcoming, talked me through the whole process, was so incredibly kind and funny and also absolutely knocked my tattoo out of the park. I can’t wait to return to get another tattoo done by her! Thank you so much Ash, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to say it enough!

Kevin Harrison is the best, literally five stars. I got the cutest fine line script on my side. He takes his time with sketches and is so reassuring and seems like he cares ab tattooing. He doesnt rush and he pays close attention to detail. Ive gotten five tattoes from him and def going back!

Absolutely great place to get a tattoo. I got a somewhat big thigh piece from Josh and he was great with working with the art style I wanted to go with, and during the actual appointment? He was absolutely awesome, super friendly, good with the friends who stopped by to keep me company, and everyone who was working in the shop that stopped by to say hi and look at the piece were ALL great as well!! Super funny, lots of fun conversation, and overall a 10/10 experience, seriously. The wait time from consultation to the appointment itself (about a month) was SO worth it.

We met with Josh last month and told him I was interested in a Larkspur flower which is July’s birth flower. I also wanted to cover up an old existing tattoo. A couple weeks later I sent him a picture of my wording wrote by my son. He designed this and I couldn’t love it more. Josh was wonderful and made the time pass quickly. The shop itself was immaculate and everyone was so friendly. I will definitely recommend Ikonic to everyone I know. Thank you again..

I got a tattoo from here recently and all the staff were amazing! A very clean studio with knowledgeable and approachable staff. I got an ankle tattoo and my artist was very personable and professional during the session, and made sure I got a break as soon as I told him I could use one. I’d absolutely recommend this studio for anyone looking for an absolutely killer tattoo!

I went to Ikonic for my first tattoo and I have to say that it was such a good experience. Everyone that I interacted with was very friendly and welcoming. This helped calm some of the nerves that I may have had since it was my first time ever experiencing this process. Ethan was the artist that I was assigned to and he is the best. I would highly recommend him to anyone that is looking at getting a tattoo! He is a personable guy and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process.

Jenny did my tattoo and she is an amazing artist. I picked her specifically because I loved her work but found that I love her even more as a human being. The two and a half hours in her chair flew by and now I have a gorgeous work of art on my forearm. If you want a beautiful piece of art see Jenny.As for Ikonic Ink its very clean and welcoming. Had two pieces done by Josh Kunkel and couldnt be happier with them. Hes a great artist and lots of fun to talk to. Its clear he works hard to give his clients exactly what they want and make the experience comfortable along the way. Facility is really clean and other staff members are all very friendly.

I have been here twice now, here recently for the Friday the 13th flash event and tonight. I got tattooed by both Josh and Church. Both are absolutely amazing artist with two different unique styles. I highly recommend both artists as this isnt my first tattoo rodeo and I will definitely be coming back for all my tattoos. The atmosphere is calm, everything is clean, the receptionists are friendly, and the artists are more then happy to joke with you and have a good time.

I got my first tattoo by Josh in 2019 and he has been doing my pieces ever since! He is kind, caring, and an amazing artist.After having our little one in April I was struggling to feel like my old self. The last two pieces (finished not too long after writing this) he did for me gave me a piece of that person back. And I am forever thankful and appreciative to him for that.SO long story short. If you want a tattoo of any kind Josh is your man!

Ive only had one experience here, but it left a bad taste in my mouth. I was paying for my wifes tattoo as a Christmas present and we scheduled a consultation with an artist named Ethan. He did the bare minimum, even though that tattoo was already a minimalist tattoo and acted like he was annoyed to even be there. Well, we chalked it up to him having a bad day cause we already paid a deposit and we scheduled the day to actually do the tat. That day was today, and when I tell you he was rude and condescending I really meant it. He actually told us he thought it was a stupid idea and it was going to look bad. He was so arrogant and unpleasant that we just decided to forfeit the deposit and we went somewhere else. The shop we went to got us in and did an amazing job. I dont know if Ikonic is just a garbage place in general or if it was just this one artist, but either way, our experience was distasteful enough for me to take the time to write this review.

Great experience,I heard mixed things about this shop leading up to a flash sale they had on 7/15 but I went for it. This place was great! The front staff ladies were great, friendly and informative. The artists were all friendly and did amazing jobs, my partner and I were tattooed by Josh, David and Kevin. The shop itself was cleanly and spacious with good vibes all around. Would for sure recommend this place to anyone who asks about tattoos in state college. Especially the flash sales!

Got a few pieces from a few different artists in there and I love every single one of them. Theyre all amazing artists and they work so well with you, treat you really nicely if you need any breaks, overall just a pleasant experience that feels like you put you before the work. Not to mention its super clean and the atmosphere is so nice, each space for each artist has its own personality and I’ve never had a bad experience there. I’ve gotten a few pieces from Josh now and I’ve never had a problem with any other them, an amazing business.

Everyone is so welcoming and helpful, I had Kevin and he was very helpful and drew my piece for me. I do plan to come back once I figure out what to put on my spine/sternum. They are all like a family their which I love!

Do NOT go here for ANY ear piercing! I had the worst experience here. I have 10+ piercings (conch, daith, tragus, forward helix, helix, lobes). I went to Ikonic because they were having a sale for rook piercings. They charged $90 which is the most I have ever paid for a single piercing, and I usually go to Infinite piercing in Philly which is on the pricier side but SO worth it because they are amazing there! Aside from being absurdly overcharged during a “sale”, the actual piercing was not done well at all and felt so botched. I’ve never had any pain with any other cartilage piercings but this one felt as if they guy took multiple tries to put the needle through my ear, and he said he had been piercing for so many years so I don’t know why getting pierced felt like he either didn’t know what he was doing or straight up didn’t care. I’ve never had a problem with infections or healing but the rook I got at Ikonic got horribly infected multiple times and made my ear swell SO bad I had to remove other piercings on that ear. It took about 2 years total to heal and it still flares up for no reason (it’s not the jewelry either because I have the same mental in other piercings). I am usually 100% okay with paying expensive prices for piercings because you get top tier service for a fabulous piercing that heals well - but here I was WAY overcharged for a bad experience and a piercing that caused nothing but pain and infections. PLEASE safe yourself money and time and go somewhere else (if you need a recommendation I know the best tattoo artist and piercer in state college)

I recently got a tattoo done by Kevin J and I cannot sing his praises enough! His work is absolutely impeccable, I cant stop showing off the tattoo - he made my vision come to life, and dven better than I had envisioned! He was beyond kind during the entire appointment, made me feel very comfortable, and for those reasons (plus some) ... I would not only love receiving another work of art from him, but would recommend him to all!

Joshua did a great touch up on my Lion. He knew just what to do. I never thought I’d get all that definition back. And he is great to talk you and made the whole process fun. The studio is beautiful, clean and well run.

I’m somewhat of a regular at this point, but I love coming to LUXE to get my piercings done. Thank you to the staff for always making the experience a good one!! Much love. ❤️

I went here for my very first tattoo and had a great experience with Kevin J! I went in but being 100% sure of how I wanted my tattoo to look but he sat down with me, showed me options, and was open to my opinions when I wanted something changed. He was super professional the entire time and answered all of my questions. I did the first part of my tattoo a year ago knowing I wouldn’t be able to finish it so with that in mind he did enough that it would still look like a completed tattoo until I was ready to have it done. When I finally returned to having it done it was still just as enjoyable of an experience as the first time. Completely professional yet fun and made my tattoo exactly what I wanted it to be. Could not recommended him or ikonic enough!

I have been going here for over a year now for all my tattoo work and five stars doesnt begin to explain how fantastic they are. Josh has done all my work and is almost finished with my full sleeve. The work is amazing, the people are always so friendly, and they have been very accommodating with scheduling. I can tell you that no matter which artist you get the work will be of amazing quality. Of all the time I have spent there (well over 30 hours now) I have seen lots of different work done by all the artists and Im always amazed by how beautiful the work is. This is definitely my home for all of my tattoo work for many years to come as I have LOTS of ideas that I want done and I know 100% that itll get done properly and of the highest quality. Kevin J is the best portrait tattoo artist. I got a portrait tattoo this March in New Jersey, but it did not reach my standard. I had a talk with Kevin. He told me not to worry about it, and he will try his best to fix it. I got it fixed yesterday, and it was amazing! KJ is the best! If you need a portrait tattoo, KJ is your first choice.

Church is an absolutely amazing guy, was great to work with and work up our design. Helped us work on two designs when the original didnt fit our budget and didnt seem bothered by it at all. First time on my ribs and was nowhere near the pain people have described to me, and I know it has a lot to do with the artist doing it. Would about go back to him in the future!

Great shop it was clean, the staff was professional and kind, and above all else the tattoo artist Bird was absolutely fantastic! My best friend and I had called over a dozen shops looking for a place that was known for quality to do two simple line work tattoos on our feet and the amount of judgement and awful treatment we received for that request at other shops was insane but Ikonic was not like that they were professional asked questions about what we wanted and then booked us with an artist that was excited to do the work.When we met with Bird he was so wonderful. He was excited about our tattoo concept, there was no judgement about what we wanted done, and more than anything he was just so kind and just a wonderful person. Each tattoo only took about ten minutes and they both came out perfect, no blowouts, no missed lines, nice even line weight throughout, etc. Just a high quality tattoo from a high quality dude cannot recommend him highly enough!

I’m not one to ever write a review on any business, however; this might be one of the only times I will. This was by far the worst service any tattoo parlor could offer. This was my first tattoo ever. I got this tattoo in early June 2023. My friend and I decided to head in to Ikonic for a walk-in. I was told the artist would be with us shortly where we sat in the waiting room while nobody was ahead of us for 2 hours. During that time we were informed instead of us both getting the same artist, my friend would get one and I would get another (Church). Now before I dive into this, let me say Church really is an awesome guy. Great personality, but I can tell with the way this business is run his hospitality potential is extremely limited. To sum up the experience shortly, look at the pictures attached. The word “is” was written in my quote an extra time to render the quote grammatically incorrect. Soon after it was covered with white ink that “will fade out black ink”. When I pointed the mistake out, Church was apologetic. I could tell however, he was trying to keep cool to keep me cool because he knew he screwed up. He asked the owner of the shop about his mistake and potential ways to fix it. Who in response, instead of taking the time to find solutions left the shop to “go get tacos”. Fast forward as white ink was permeated through my skin to get rid of black ink, we proceed to checkout. I was charged $80 for the work. I paid cash and still tipped $40. When I demanded a refund I was told that wasn’t possible. I then demanded in writing the shop agreeing to pay for the removal of the tattoo which I was told “We have to ask the owner.” who quite clearly has no business being a business owner. I could tell his employees wanted to help and potentially refund me, but in their heads the shop owner would ream them out if they followed through with it. As I displayed the screw up and the lack of any sympathy or accommodations to a mistake that is permanently in my skin to many people that I know, one response was tended to protrude over any other. “You were refunded right?!” the astonishment of every person to hear the neglect of customer service at that shop is at this point amusing. As I talk to more and more people I constantly hear through word of mouth how terrible this shop really is… if only I had known before I got inked. As a first timer, I was completely taken advantage of. Church offered “free repair appointments” where he would try to fix it with “flesh ink” which I will note. The fact of the matter, why would I trust a guy who just messed up putting the most basic ink in me, to put more ink in me? Mind-boggling if you ask me. I later returned and asked for my tip back as I don’t think any work should be compensated of that nature especially with the lack of respect towards the customer. Let me be clear, I can tell Church really wanted to help. I could tell his management and leadership was so poor that there was a fear to authorize a refund like he knew he would get chewed out if the shop didn’t make money. Lastly, I was told the owner would reach out to me about the refund. He never did, not surprised… he runs a dead end shop and that’s not me talking… that’s the whole town behind his back. So as a synopsis if you didn’t want to read all of that… don’t ever go here it is a money grab they don’t care about you at all.

Kevin was great. Not only was he friendly yand explained everything to me, he actually talked to me about my life and seemed like he truly actually cared about me. I will be back!!!

I had a great experience at Ikonic with Kevin. He did such an incredible job on my tattoo and then even touched up an old tattoo I have and made it look brand new! He’s also really funny and made me feel so comfortable the whole time.However I will say, for any line work I would not suggest Joshua. He was extremely heavy handed and left my thigh scarred forever. Ive been looking into different ways to heal it but there isnt much that can be done. Ive visited 3 different tattoo shops since leaving State College and they all confirmed my tattoo was done very poorly. My one year old tattoo, which also happens to be the biggest tattoo on my body looks like it is at least 10 years old. Kevin helped clean it up a few months later, but unfortunately its already back to looking quite smeared and thick. I have another tattoo on my other thigh which didnt hurt at all when I got it done in New York. It also healed perfectly. I was in such excruciating pain with Joshua that I had to constantly keep taking breaks which I thought was weird because my other other thigh tat was basically painless. Not only was I was surprised at the pain levels but also the amount of blood I was seeing. The tattoo was also raised significantly within the first few weeks. I have several tattoos from here and that is one I think I regret getting with that specific artist. After going to getting it touched up and being asked who did the tattoo it didnt seem like it was a huge shock that Joshua had done such a heavy handed job. This is really not okay.

He has 18 years of professional experience, and it shows! He did a great job on my tattoo and also on my sons who will be writing a review as well. He was very personable and polite. I would recommend anyone to Ikonic Ink based on my experience today. The staff is all very friendly and having a great time will doing amazing work. I was very hesitant on where I wanted to get a tattoo on my leg and I’m glad I picked Ikonic. If you ever need anything done ask for Josh, he does amazing work and envisions the piece just like you want. He not only gave me a perfect piece but was great to talk to and very patient when I was feeling uncomfortable. 10/10 recommend.

I had such a great experience at Ikonic Ink! This particular tattoo was a huge deal to me on so many levels, which had me a bit nervous even though I’ve been through the process before. Start to finish, everyone was really nice and made me feel comfortable and welcome. Josh was the artist who did my tattoo and working with him was great because there were a few aspects, like the size, that I wasn’t quite sure about. He not only made great recommendations but took the time to explain the reasoning behind them, and he asked questions throughout the process to make sure the end result would be exactly what I wanted. He helped me with my questions about aftercare as well. I could not be happier 😊

I’ve had multiple positive experiences with josh as my tattoo artist. He is phenomenal with cartoon style and Japanese traditional style, and has done two massive pieces on me so far and I cannot wait to get the rest of my body done. He’s precise in his line work and has an amazing eye for detail and color. He also actively makes sure that I as the client am comfortable and have the best possible experience while I’m in the shop. Moreover he insured that all of my ideas were taken into consideration and added into my work accordingly. Over all josh and the rest of the ikonic ink staff are super nice and highly professional. 10/10 would recommend.

I got my ears pierced yesterday at their new shop location and I can say I was very happy with the experience. The jewelry is not included in the piercing price for those confused. I got my helix done and my second lobe piercing. The piercer was friendly, informative, and passionate about his job. He reassured me the piercing would be quick with some pain but relatively better than a pierce gun and he was right. Its some pain initially but it goes by fast with some sensitivity afterwards. He informed me all about aftercare and made sure I was comfortable with the aspect before I left. Overall, my experience was pleasant and I would definitely come back for another one.

I have been to Jesse for my helix, nostril, septum, and now my navel. I have had a great experience each time! I feel super comfortable when I go here and all my piercings so far have healed nicely. I just got my navel done the other day so that hasn’t healed yet but so far it’s feeling good. Can’t wait to come back for more piercings!

My daughter was scheduled for a tatoo and when she showed up for a tattoo that was scheduled for almost a month (& was a Christmas gift) receptionist said she could not find appointment, when I sent a screenshot of our online conversation, she said “well u never paid your deposit” I said you never told me about the deposit when I asked how much the tattoo was you gave me the price I said ok, no mention of deposit, she said “not my problem, it is our policy” if u don’t tell me how am I supposed to know that? She was so cocky and due to her attitude I would not give this place any business! My coworkers even heard her so not just me but many others heard her attitude and many others will not use this business because of receptionist. Sad because it sounds like they have some nice artist.

Wife and I took our daughter to get her first piercing(belly button). Jesse did it for her and as we are on the way back home, my daughter is still talking about Jesse. This truly means a lot because she isn’t a trusting person. From the front counter to our exist, I was impressed with the service and atmosphere. This tunage was on point. Definitely will recommend Ikonic to everyone, including my visiting alumni brothers from all over the country.

I got my first tattoo during their flash sale on Friday the 13th . Josh did my tattoo and he helped me figure out the placement as well as put me at ease. It was a great first experience and have already started planning on my next tattoo. Will be going back to Josh for it.

I have had two tattoos done by Josh and in both instances, they were small memorial tattoos. They are not fancy--he traced my loved ones initials. They were not expensive--I think shop minimum. And they look great! I am so happy with them. Both of my visits were emotional and I blabbered on and on about why I was getting them, who these people were to me, and how this was such an important part to my story. Josh was compassionate, generous, and listened to me. These tats are not going to win him any awards in industry, but they should because the way he works matters. Josh works with a deeply personal level of care and pays attention to the nuances. He engaged with me, even when he didnt have to. It was therapeutic, to say the least. I have had really great experiences with Iconic Ink and would recommend them to anyone. I enjoyed Josh so much, that I took my mother to him for her first tat! I am grateful to Josh and for his work.Stephanie might be the most patient woman in the entire county... When you go in, watch how she works and listen to how she talks. Shes kind and gracious. Her warm and friendly attitude makes for a very welcoming space.

Got a forearm tattoo from Josh and it took about 4 hours but he was an amazing artist. It was my first tattoo and he made me feel so comfortable and made sure the tattoo I was getting was exactly the way I envisioned it. He was extremely friendly and made sure I was happy with the tattoo throughout the process. The detail work is incredible and the tattoo is healing amazing. Would highly recommend Ikonic Ink to anyone wanting a quality tattoo.

The environment at Ikonic is top notch, the studio is super dope and super clean. Each and every person who works there are really cool and really friendly to every person who comes in. I first went here for a tattoo in January of 2018 (I think). It was my 2nd or 3rd tattoo overall and I was tattooed by Josh right on my inner forearm. I love it!The second tattoo I got here was also done by Josh and was my entire chest. That was August and September of 2020. Even though it was the most painful experience of my life, I loved it!January of 2021 I went in for a septum piercing from Jesse, I was in and out in like 10 minutes. It was a wonderful experience!Needless to say, I will be going back for more tattoos and piercings down the line. Everyone at Ikonic is awesome and super friendly, whether its your first time there or your 50th.

Ive had two piercings here done by Jesse and he was absolutely amazing! I was guided to Ikonic Ink from a friend while looking into getting my nose pierced. It healed great! Jesse is very professional, answers all questions, provides information you might not know, has a clean sterile work space and instruments. For my second piercing I got an evaluation from a different person at a different shop first in State College and was not impressed or comforted by the conditions of the work environment. I was pretty much shopping around for a rare piercing and like my instincts suggested in the beginning (but I didnt listen to), I went to Jesse again and he took care of me. Honestly at this point I wont go to anywhere or anyone else except for Jesse. He also has taken the APP classes on top of years of experience!

Would not go to this place originally talked to someone online messaging back and forth. I had mentioned i liked joshs work and was looking to get a yatoo from him. Sent a picture of bracelet tattoo for wrist got a quote off $100 an hour total of 2. I agreed then was asked if id like to setup an appointment which i did for sept 24 at 4pm. I was so excited bc this is the third different place ive tried and still havent got my tattoo yet. Showed up on 24th at 4 for the appointment to have the receptionist tell me she had my name and info but now the price changed to $150 hr and didnt have the picture i sent that i would have to have a consult and wouldnt b able to get the tatoo until end of November. What a joke if there are too many accounts alike online maybe you shouldnt have that as a way for customers to reach out bc clearly have no clue whats going on in the shop. Then to pay $300 bucks for a bracelet ridiculous ill go somewhere else and guarantee wont have to wait months to get a tattoo i already set an appointment for. Not a good place whoever is running front desk and scial media doesnt have a clue

I highly recommend Ikonic Ink Tattoo and specifically Joshua Kunkle. The personel and space are clean and professional. The price is reasonable and scheduling is easy & timely. As for artists, Ive worked with Joshua twice. He is willing to work with you to create a design that is perfect for your personality and location on your body. Jesse did my belly button piercing and he is so educated and knows what he is doing. It was painless, fast, and simple. If I was to ever get another piercing I would go back to see him. Also, my friend had a piercing that was rejecting itself and he cleaned it for her, took it out, and explained how to help it heal. AND he didnt charge her for any of it! Hes super great and I liked the place a lot.

Started with a few flash tattoos and now I’m getting a sleeve! 😅 Gone to multiple artists, (Swank, Church, and Joshua). All wonderful and so talented. Can’t wait for more!

The staff is nice and experienced. They have a lot of customers mainly College students so dont expect them to give you a lot of importance of you decide to just walk in, appointments are mandatory rather than recommended here. They will not do White ink tattoos or at least not full White ink so dont bother wasting time on that subject, I did and I learned my lesson. But they are very accommodating and gave me my full deposit back.

I had scheduled an appointment for July 1st, booking was completed on June 3rd. I called the shop after emailing back and forth and asked the receptionist, if I was able to pay cash the day before my appointment (June 30th), she said that was fine. I then get a message today that my appointment is canceled, no call or email from the shop as to why. So I contact them to find out why my appointment is canceled, she then tells me it’s because I didn’t pay my deposit and when I then tell her, the receptionist that I spoke with (the day I made my appointment) told me that I was able to pay it the day before my appointment. After hearing this she says “okay”. She then told me the deposit has to be paid by the end of the week, which is fine if I would’ve been told that ORIGINALLY, I would’ve paid the $50 over the phone. But when a customer asks if it’s okay to pay the deposit in person the day before their appointment and told they can, then suddenly 2 weeks after that conversation their appointment is canceled it’s quite annoying.

Update: I believe this tattoo artist no longer works here.Would give 0 stars if possible. I had a tattoo done here that was done so poorly that I had to go to a different tattoo shop for a cover up.I consulted with the artist a month in advance and showed him all of my ideas and drawings behind the tattoo (it was a Huntingtons disease emblem commemorating those I lost to the disease). When I showed up to get the tattoo the artist did no preparation at all. He made me sit almost an hour while he scrambled to put something together. I was nervous that he would rush because it was getting nearer to closing time. Since I had put a large deposit down for the tattoo I didnt want to walk out and I regret not walking out. Just as expected he rushed to finish. The tattoo artist was incredibly rough (my third tattoo so I have experience of what it should feel like), the tattoo left some raised scarring. And the tattoo ended up looking nothing like I had wanted once executed. I was incredibly disappointed and upset with the experience here. Absolutely horrible. I cant remember the artists name but he was a punk male.

I have yet to have a good experience at Ikonic ink. I am embarrassed that I paid their ridiculous prices. When I bought a new stud for my nose the piercer changed the jewelry and used a taper to stretch the hole. She was very aggressive and did not use any sort of lubricant that I have seen other shops use. When I got my nipples pierced I thought the experience was unprofessional and found myself to be uncomfortable compared to friends who have had the piercing done at other locations. Lastly, I lost a ball for the end of my piercing and waited in front of the woman at the desk for 30 minutes (I had made my presence known) before I had to beg her to help me. I was not allowed to put the ball back on myself so I was forced to wait an additional 20 minutes to see the piercer. She then aggressively replaced the ball and twisted the piercing which left me sore for days. There are much better locations in State College that will respect your body, time, and wallet.

Incredibly happy with my experiences with Ikonic Ink! I first got my nose pierced by Miranda when they were still at their old location, and got my belly button pierced by Miranda at their new location, which is absolutely beautiful. I have had no issues at all with either of my piercings, and Miranda and the other staff left me completely at ease, even though I was really nervous for both! I recommend this shop to anyone looking to get a piercing in the State College area, and all of my friends have left satisfied as well. I havent had any tattoos done at Ikonic Ink, but there is a very good chance this will be my first choice of location when I decide to get my first tattoo, just because the staff there are so professional, talented and kind.

We went in pretty late thinking theyd be closing soon, and if anything Id just get something booked. But my friend and I only wanted really simple tattoos and they squeezed us in without issue! Great artists and super helpful all around.

I just got my nose pierced by Kady, and she was amazing!! She made sure my new piercing was perfectly aligned with a piercing I already had on the other side of my nose. She was very sweet and attentive to detail. Couldn’t be happier with my visit!

It is with trepidation I make this review. Janice was my artist. We had six visits, each were 3-400 per visit. She was friendly and I thought we had a good rapport. We had two schedule conflicts, we rescheduled and I in great length explained my expectations for a cover up, half sleeve. She added filigree and it was poorly placed and she allowed me to look at it at first and assured me the shading would be satisfactory.. after several sessions..and incomplete work..it is still not finished. I called the shop two times, reception had me on hold for eight minutes and so I hung up, I then sent correspondence via messenger...four times...AND NEVER HEARD BACK..so today, I finally called again, receptionist acknowledged she received my message but said AGAIN I NEED ANOTHER CONSULT TO DISCUSS MOVING FORWARD WITH THE COMPLETION OF MY HALF SLEEVE. The artist has taken multiple pictures and knows that I wanted additional roses added. I have a $100 deposit credit and still the receptionist said she’d need to “call me back to schedule another consultation!”Insanity!

I got my first cartilage piercing here and was nervous and did not know what to expect. They were extremely efficient and professional, talking me through the entire process. It was very quick, clean, and nearly painless. I’ve experienced minimal discomfort since I got it and have had no infections. Will definitely be going back there for my next one!

With a number of places to get tattoos and piercings in State College, this is by far the best. I had nipple piercings done here about a month ago and I still could not be happier to this day. A friend also recently got her navel pierced and had the same experience. The piercer, Jesse, is hilarious and makes you feel so comfortable no matter what you are getting done. I have heard nothing but great things from everyone who has gotten tattooed there and looking at some of Adams work makes me want one more. Jordan is also amazing, shes super relatable and has amazing advice on not just tattoos but piercings and the jewelry they offer too. High recommend and cant wait to get my next tattoo from here!

The receptionist was quite standoffish. My friend & I had to go for a consult even though we have gotten tattoos before and knew exactly what we wanted. The person we saw was nice enough.However the price is ridiculous!! For a tattoo about the size of a gold ball they wanted $300!! We went in to a place in Tyrone. Spoke to us then gave us a dates and was a quarter of the price. Now we are getting a total of 3 tattoos.

Septum peircing: I cant say enough good things.... Just as a reference this was move-in weekend at PSU. I walked in and was pleasantly greated by the very professional and efficient front desk employee. She took all of my information and helped me select a very affordable earing to replace one I lost on Guatemala. The gentleman doing the piercing was equally professional. He respected my understanding of piercing without shirking his role as the true expert. The septum is not an easy piercing to get right but Ill let the pictures speak for themselves. He listen to what I wanted and then gave me his feedback. The end result was perfect.

Ive gotten all 11 piercings and 6 tattoos I have at Ikonic Ink and I love all the work theyve done on me. My tongue, nose, nipples and navel were done very quickly and painlessly at a VERY competitive price. My tattoos were done extremely well, very cleanly and once again, at a VERY good price. I have absolutely nothing but great things to say about Ikonic Ink and I love the fact that they do walk ins. My fiancee has never gotten a tattoo and tomorrow him and I are getting tattoos and Im taking him to Ikonic Ink. I travel over an hour to go here, but I wouldnt go anywhere else. I absolutely love their work. 10 out of 10 guys! Keep up the good work!

I came to Ikonic to get my earlobes pierced for a second time back in April, something I thought would be simple a straightforward. I really wanted to love this place, because the reviews were good, it was super clean and everyone was really friendly, and they use high quality jewelry. Full story below, but basically I had to have a piercing redone because it was crooked. It was still crooked the second time and the piercer didnt agree, so I ended up going somewhere else to have it fixed.My right lobe was done perfectly, but the left one was obviously crooked (exit hole was way too close to my existing lobe piercing). I went back to ask to have it redone and the piercer insisted it was straight. I wasnt satisfied so went back again, with a photo showing how crooked it was. She agreed to redo it, but it was still crooked the second time, this time with the exit hole really high. It was so crooked that the back of the post started to embed in my ear. Again, she insisted it was straight but offered to change the jewelry to a longer post. It turned out that the post wasnt longer at all, it just had a larger back on it, so it started to embed in my ear again within days.Obviously unsatisfied, I ended up going to a different shop to have the piercing redone by someone with a lot more experience. The entire process at the other shop was way more professional and completely painless, and the placement is good. Im finally happy but it took almost 3 months (because of all the healing time in between piercings). I understand that people make mistakes that are hard to admit, but I wont go back to Ikonic.

Most unreasonable piercing place I’ve been. Ridiculous prices and terrible service. The people running this place and employees are not good people. I’ve even heard stories about them outside of work that make me cringe thinking I ever went there. They do not care about you, only your money which shows in the price. They also expect you to tip the receptionist which is odd... I’ve only ever tipped the piercer/ artist. There are much better places to go in state college, don’t waste your time and money. Go somewhere else.

Even though both of my tattoos were small, Joshua took the time to make sure they were exactly the way I wanted them, and both are perfect. Just got a chest piece from Justin and it was a great experience. From drawing it up to actually doing the tattoo everything was very professional and friendly. I got a walk in tattoo from here earlier this week and I love it!! They were super friendly and made me feel comfortable with trying different things. Process was super fast and efficient, love my tattoo!

I tried to give them $300, wasn’t worth their time. I was old that a 4 year old scar on my hand was to fresh to tattoo over. Besides being turned away at the door I really liked the overall vibe of the studio. Great artwork on the walls, and choice of music. It was my first choice, and I wish I would have been able to have gotten my hand tattoo here instead of their neighbor King Cobra Tattoo.

Thé receptionist at this place really made me not want to get a tattoo there at all. For a small tattoo of beer charged for 3 hours worth 150 per hour. How ridiculous because I got it done from somewhere else for a way lower amount. The receptionist looked at me like I have no idea what I’m talking about and it felt quite disrespectful compared to all the other places I’ve been to where they talk to you with a way friendlier attitude. Especially when you’re a international poc it feels super uncomfortable and tiresome to come across people like this that don’t really look at you like a person.

The service was really super! I came in a little nervous and they were really great about answering all my questions in detail and giving me advice about what I wanted. I had Josh (he stayed late on his birthday for me), he was super gentle and made jokes to keep me distracted. If youre looking for a place in State College, theyre definitely the ones to go to.

I got a tattoo here about 6 months ago, my friend and I walked in and were greeted by a crew that put us completely at ease. I havent written a review until now because I had nothing to compare it to. I went with a friend recently to a tattoo shop in south Philadelphia and was immediately hit with how unkind the people there were. I know it isnt a tattoo artists job to coddle you, but these two guys were making obscene comments about the two girls that went in before us. It was awful. I felt uncomfortable and distrustful. That is what prompted me to come back and give a review. Ikonic Ink is not only clean but upscale and comfortable. The artists are fun and talkative and give good advice without being harsh or rude. I appreciate this place and the kind of experience it gave me with tattoos. If youre looking for a good place that does amazing work, go to Iknoic Ink.

I got my helix pierced the other day, and I have since had no issues with it at all. I have been in absolutely no pain thus far and I would give them five stars if they made it evident on their website that their jewelry is not included in the pricing of their piercings, as I was under the impression that I would be paying at most $45 when in reality I paid over $100.

Posting under a fake name, because apparently they check the names of reviews against records of who went into the shop...and I would rather leave an anonymous review.I got my nipple pierced at another shop in State College. I didnt have any problems with it. I noticed that Ikonic does nipple piercings cheaper than the shop I went to the first time. So I got my other nipple pierced at Ikonic Ink, the bar they used was thinner than my other nipple bar, and much shorter. After two days, my nipple was quite swollen and really painful. I went back to Ikonic and expressed my concerns. The piercer said it was nothing to worry about and that the swelling would go down, but didnt ask to look at my piercing.So I went back to the shop I had gone to the first time, and the piercer there swapped my jewelry into a longer and thicker bar, which matched my other nipple. Which definitely made a difference immediately, and I hope lets me keep my piercing.So I learned my lesson, cheaper usually means not as good.

This place was awesome. Got my first ever tattoo here today and was immediately welcomed and comforted. The woman behind the counter knew what she was talking about when describing the whole process, and the artist himself, Thomas, was friendly and helpful the entire time. I would highly recommend this place to anyone seeking a tattoo or piercing of any kind.

Miranda is awesome! I came here a month ago to get my tragus pierced. I was a little hesitant because I have not gotten any piercing done besides my lobes years ago. She answered all of my questions before I went through with my piercing and she kept me at ease. I would 100% recommend her!

Thomas is great. The whole staff was really friendly, too. It was my first tattoo and Thomas talked me through it--I didnt even have much time to get nervous before he was inking me. If I want another tattoo, Ill come back here.

Got a super dope galaxy tattoo from Chris Roberts about a week ago. Im beyond happy with how it came out and my entire experience. Chris was nothing but professional and just a good guy the whole time. Definitely would reccomend Chris and this shop to anyone looking for a quality tattoo. I will be going back for more.

A friend and I went this past weekend to get septum piercings. I dont think Ive ever been in a tattoo/peircing shop that has been so clean and so welcoming! The piercer, Jesse, was beyond professional and made us feel super comfortable. He laughed along with our jokes, and was just an awesome guy. I got dizzy and feeling faint after getting my peircing done, and he immediately laid the seat down, and got me a lollipop and a glass of water. I was embarrassed but he assured me that it was fine, just an adrenaline rush. After we were done, Jesse took the time to talk to us about and answer all the questions we had about after care. And then walked us through to the front of the store to show us the different kind of jewelry we can get for our new septum peircings after they heal. All around A+ experience. I would suggest ikonic and Jesse to anyone wanting to get a quality and professional peircing. THANK YOU AGAIN!!! I love my new piercing :)

My experience at Ikonic Ink was amazing. I broke my ankle 3 months ago riding BMX and last week was the first time I rode my bike since. I asked Josh to come up with a mechanical tattoo around my scar because I had multiple plates and screws put in my leg during surgery. I came in today and was absolutely blown away at the design he came up with. It incorporates bike parts like sprockets and chains, but also has mechanical support vibe that makes it perfect. I couldnt have asked for a better tattoo. Not to mention Josh is just a nice guy and easy to talk to.

‼️READ THE STORY‼️‼️DO NOT GO‼️This place is beyond RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. They will NOT take any responsibility when mistakes are made, instead, they will curse you out and call the police on you!I have been thinking about getting my first tattoo for over a year. Since my boyfriend has gotten a tattoo from this place before, he referred me to this place. His experience here, according to him, “service was not the best, but they did get the job done.” Thus, I had a reasonable expectation that it would be the same for me as well.But boy was I wrong.My appointment was on the night of July 9th, 2020. I wanted my boyfriend to come with me since this is my FIRST EVER tattoo that will remain permanently and I wanted to make sure that it was done right (He wasn’t able to come because of social distancing.) I reasonably assumed that the tattoo would be identical to the design since the artist blueprinted the design on my back, so I did not check every detail when it was finished.Until my boyfriend pointed them out after I got back, I noticed that there were some lines added out of nowhere and some missing on my actual tattoo when comparing to the original design. Throughout my entire tattoo experience, I was not communicated of any of those changes at all. But still I thought this would be fixable and decided to call them hoping to work something out the next day.⭕️And this is where everything turned for the worst. When my boyfriend called up the artist (JUSTIN KEPHART), which is the same artist who did his tattoo, to discuss the situation the next day, the artist only responded with attitude and immediately hung up. So we went to the store hoping to figure out what was going on. But when the artist saw us outside of the store, the first thing he said was “oh, those f**kers are here!” and went on to cuss us out right away. I was appalled by his reaction.After some heated exchange between him and my boyfriend, the female manager (STEPHANIE HUTTON) came out and threatened my boyfriend with “my ex-husband was a marine and he will f*** you up” and demanded us to leave. Noted that we were outside the store the entire time so we had every right to be there. The artist then spat more words and went inside. My boyfriend went to grab the door handle, the manager pushed him and said, “don’t put your hands on me.” I don’t believe at any point he touched her. She then called the police as we went across the street. The officers who talked to her came to us and told us that the manager claimed that my boyfriend “grabbed” her and that there were “visible marks” on her arm. Not trying to make accusations like some other individuals, but I can only wonder how she got those “marks” on.So this was my first tattoo. After this, I’m definitely not going back there to get my tattoo fixed. Tattoo art is a very personal thing, yet being treated with care, respect and professionalism is not among the expectations you should have for this place. If you do decide to go I hope you get your tattoos right, because if not, they won’t feel sorry for one bit about it and they will make sure you know that.

Jesse did an amazing job with my navel piercing! Quick and painless and it turned out perfect. I love it! Definitely recommend him for piercings.

I’ve been to ikonic many times in my year at penn state. when jesse did my daith piercing, he didn’t even clean my ear. he didn’t give me any aftercare instructions. it was quick and painless tho. when i went back because the piercing was infected, they told me he’d be in around noon to see me. by 1pm when he finally walks through the door, the receptionist says he has clients waiting. he looks at me and the other girls lined up for piercings and says “i don’t care, i’m not ready”. when i had him take out my daith ring because it was infected, he again didn’t even clean it before yanking it out of my ear. i’m only giving this place two stars bc i got a tattoo here as well and it was amazing and i wish i could remember who did it. if you want a quality experience, go to 814 tattoo company, which is what i’ll be doing for the rest of my college years.

I finished up my half sleeve here and it was done by justin and he was beyond amazing. soooo friendly as well as very welcoming. he was completely open to my ideas while also providing me with input needed to make tattoo for better. i couldn’t have asked for a better artist !! his work is amazing and working with him is so great

Ikonic Ink is definitely the place to go for piercings. Miranda, the piercer, is so nice and is great at answering any questions you have. A few weeks after your piercing they call to make sure its healing well and check if you have questions. I got a few piercings done here and Im planning my next trip home from college to get the next piercings I want. I couldnt be happier, if youre trying to decide where to go: Ikonic Ink is by far the best option

I brought my 8 year old daughter in to have her ears pierced..she got nervous and almost backed out, but Jesse was amazing! He was patient with her and answered her questions, he showed her what he would use and how it’s used. I couldn’t be happier with our experience.

My 2 roommates and I got small tattoos from Joshua Kunkle. He drew it based off what we wanted and he nailed it. He also made our friend feel comfortable even though she is scared of needles. We are very pleased! It cost a little too much money but oh whale.

Joshua and his apprentice did a great job tattooing my girlfriends first tattoo. There was a weird error in scheduling so our appointment got delayed till later but still a great experience and a great artist.

Do not go to this place! I was extremely over charged for my second ear piercing. There are a lot of better options in state college to get your piercings done. They ripped me off by selling me the earring in two parts (they charge for the front and the back of the earring). Came out spending nearly 105$ for just a normal stud. Avoid this place at all costs

Ethan was so cool! I just wanted a very tiny, simple and meaningful tatoo. He was so attentive and he really catered to what I had envisioned. Thank you. Also, studio is super clean and professional and soo inexpensive!

I went and got my tongue pierced i spent 80 dollars, it was my first tongue piercing so i didnt know much about what piercings r good or not, they didnt put a long piercing in to use while ur tongue heals so my tongue was swollen and dint have much room because they put a regular piercing size in, it fell out and broke two hours after i got it done, i called and asked if they could help and they made it seem like on the phone that they would charge me again and didnt wanna help put it in! so unprofessional and rude on the phone! Very expensive for cheap quality jewelry!!!! so i spent 80 dollars for no reason!!

I went into Ikonic to get a VCH on a dare so I was quite nervous. But the head piercer there, Jesse Barto, was so incredibly kind and professional he eased my worry almost immediately. He told a joke to ease my tension and informed me of everything that was going on so I was never confused. Afterward he carefully explained the healing procedures and wished me well. The piercing was over in 4 minutes but I will always remember the experience because of Jesse.

Me and a friend came in to have piercings done. From walking in to getting them done the whole staff was beyond friendly, very professional, and everything was clean. The gentlemen who did the piercings was very throe and made sure it was as painless as possible. Great place here!

Shawn is a phenomenal artist! And the vibe of the place is fun, friendly and professional. Give Shawn some space to create and youll be very happy! Now. I just have to move to a warmer climate where I can go shirtless all the time to show off the artistry.

Great piercing but the receptionist completely ripped off me and my friend. Told us earrings were 25.99 but ended up charging me 74$ (each earring was 25.99 + 11.99 for each backing?!). Ended up paying 184$ total just for 2 piercings. smh

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Everyone was very rude. We called In to see about getting a piercing done and they told us because I am only 17 I need my birth certificate and a parent. We go in that same night around 8:30-9 and they told us their piercer left. Why they couldn’t of told us that over the phone before we drove the entire way down there and paid for parking. That was Saturday night. We went in today, Tuesday paid for parking again and they tell us no. We can’t do It because I’m not 18. Multiple people gave us the wrong information and they clearly do not know what they’re doing. They call themselves professionals when they clearly weren’t acting like it. They they were very disrespectful, inconsiderate and they clearly do not care about your business. Take Your good money and business somewhere they will treat you like you should be. This is also the second time having trouble with this so called “tattoo and piercing studio” 0/10 would not recommend. Maybe if they werent so ignorant and apologized It wouldn’t be a big deal.

All staff was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Jesse fixed my nose piercing, which was regretfully pierced with a gun (impulse decision), and was very helpful. Great place and recommend to anyone!

COVID protocols are a joke. Front desk staff (manager?) is rude on phone and in person. Piercer performed work fine, but clearly did not care about my patronage based on the way he recited his aftercare speech and promptly left the room to hang out with his friends out front of the shop.I work in a similar field and I know it gets old repeating the same thing multiple times a day, but I want my clients to feel valued and return. I definitely won’t be going back to Ikonic Ink.

I got my navel pierced here. The receptionist was very nice. I was nervous because it was one of my first piercings. Place was very clean and professional. Only downside is it’s expensive but you do get for what you pay for.

Had a wonderful experience with Katie getting my cartilage pierced yesterday. She was extremely nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend Ikonic Ink and Katie to anyone!

I went there for a forward tripple helix piercing or a tripple anti helix piercing. After talking to the piercer she gave me good advice and I decided on the tripple anti helix piercing. They explained that I would have to come back two more times a week or two apart because if I got them all at once the piercings could reject due to too much trama at one time nor to memtin the pain and swelling. Im glad I did it that way because the piercings were healing better. Also the price is good. 30 for the first and 20 for the second and 20 for the third. Overall $70 which is a great price. I also got my second holes and that was $30. Overall a great experience and would definately recomend. They take credit/debit cards too which is a plus .

Ive had earrings changed here and I got a piercing done by Jesse. Everyone here was really helpful and knowledgable. The shop is very clean and bright, and they have a pretty large selection of jewelry.

My friends and I all went for a walk in tattoo and they were all so kind! Josh did an amazing job and even fixed my jacked up tattoo rail road in altoona completely messed up. Definitely going back to Ikonic in State College for my next!

Very overpriced and they charge you for unnecessary parts for a piercing. They claim its the best jewelry but I have been to other places that sell the same jewelry for half the price of what they sell for. For one ear piercing itll cost you around $60 and Evolution Tattoo charges $20. I have been there 3 times and every time they claim they are out of their standard earring so then you have to pay for a $20 earring upgrade plus they charge for the back of the earring to which is $12.

Went and got my nose pierced and paid 196$ including the tip for a “14k rose gold” nose stud. 2 Days later the stud falls out in my sleep and i lose the stud, they told me i would have to pay AGAIN for another piece, they didn’t even offer to give me a refund or money off.

Nice place, I got my nose & both second ear lobe piercings. the ear ones aren’t even at all, my left one is noticeably farther from my first piercing than my right. it also got infected. but my nose & right piercings are both good!!

Kevin was great! I was a late walk in and he still drew something up and got it done. Hyped on how it turned out!

She went way too hard on my skin. I forgot her name but she had blonde/platinum blonde hair? For some reason I think her name is Natalie. Now I’m left with a tattoo that hurts when I lightly scratch it and is very raised. Also, some of the staff are just plain rude.
