King Cobra Tattoo

Went in for my fiancees double helix piercing. Jake was quick, engaging, and helped ease her nerves. The new shop layout looked great too!Edit to add: weve had 13 tattoos from this shop now. Highly recommend for custom and traditional work!

Could not recommend these guys more! Did a walk in tattoo with my girlfriend for her birthday and she got both ears pierced in a new spot as well. Everyone was friendly and welcoming, shop was very clean and professional. Lowercase j did a phenomenal job on my tattoo and was friendly through the whole process. Her artist and piercer both were also great and we both had a great experience here. We will be back, if you’re in the area give them a visit you will not be disappointed!

Came in there at 6:20 on a Friday night .. was out of town date night with my boyfriend ... my boyfriend who is in his mid 30s and covered in tattoos with cash in hand .. wanted to get the tip of his fingers done and the tattoo artist who had long hair, tall and skinny with a mustache thought that he was above tattooing him.., something my home town tattoo artist could of done in 10-20 minutes .. he seemed entitled.. talk about a pathetic and lazy shop... based off the review pictures Im glad we were denied!!

I recently got my first three tattoos here and couldn’t be happier. The penguin was a tribute to my late father, which made it even more meaningful when it came out perfectly. Timmy did all three, and was super professional, friendly, and fast. The shop itself is clean and a feast for the eyes. All the artists here have great flash covering the walls, and I’ve personally seen incredible work from all of them. I would be getting more from this shop in the near future if I wasn’t about to move! I highly recommend this shop to anyone, especially if you want a traditional style tattoo.

I had a tattoo done for my son by Mikey. I cannot express how much this tattoo means to me. Mikey did an outstanding job with it. He was polite, professional, clean, and creative. I dont take permanent things lightly and would highly recommend anyone to this place. Whether it be sentimental, spur of the moment, or traditional, this is the place to go. I decided on King Cobra to get my first tattoo after hearing some awesome comments from a few friends, and Im so glad I did. I was tattooed by Jake and he was great! He was super nice and friendly and he made me feel at ease immediately (which honestly isnt easy to do lol). Since it was first tattoo, I was nervous about doing something too crazy or detailed, so my tattoo was pretty simple, but Jake still did phenomenal. --- The shop itself was very clean, and theyre adhering to covid restrictions (masks, sanitizing, only a couple people allowed inside at a time). I was very pleased with my experience and if/when I decided to get another tattoo (very likely) Ill definitely go back to King Cobra as long as Im still in State College. Thank you again to Jake!

King Cobra is a nice little tattoo shop. All the tattoo artists are very skilled and do an awesome job. They run a very clean shop and it is nicely decorated too. I like that they do walk-ins and you do not need to make an appointment. Their rates are extremely reasonable, probably some of the best I have encountered for tattoos. I will probably hit them up again next time I am back that way on leave for some more ink.

I have 2 tattoos from Erica and she is hands down the best detailer! She customized and drew up both of my tattoos like nbd. She excels in black and white and uses a thinner needle so her designs look more artistic and they are simply beautiful.

Erica is a wonderful human who did a great job on my croc!🐊 She was fun to talk to, easy to work with (even when I made her change the placement 3 times), and did excellent work. Shoutout to Jake for the moth too, hes awesome!

What a great experience! Im an older person wanting a certain tattoo with great meaning to me....as Im sure is common. Justin listened. I so appreciated that. He really listened. I was just there to make an appointment, but he was able to take me right away. My timing was right. I was in and out in an hour...a simple tattoo...and the whole experience from start to finish was professional, explained perfectly, I was not talked down to, or made to think that why I was there was not special. I highly recommend King Cobra for anyone even considering a tattoo!

Getting a tattoo at King Cobra was such a great experience. I was incredibly nervous to get my first tattoo, but Jake and the rest of the team made the process so comforting. He also sat with me for a couple minutes after my piercing so I could ask him questions about my tattoo. Ive been tattooed by both Mikey and Jake, and Jake did some of my piercings a few years back. I cant recommend the shop enough; everyone there is incredibly kind and professional, not to mention talented. They all know american traditional in and out but are also willing to accommodate specific requests (which is awesome-- having Bobby from KoTH forever on my body is something others may question, but I will never regret). On top of the people being great, the shop itself is beautiful. With all of the art on the walls, its hard to walk out without planning your next appointment!! Definitely check out King Cobra whenever youre in State College! :D

Mickey was my tattoo artist. He was very kind and easy to talk to. He took time with my simple tattoo yet was time efficient. He made my appointment for when they just closed and I appreciated very much. Definitely recommend Mickey as your tattoo artist!! He did a great job!!

I had a beautiful, small tattoo done on my right rib in September. It was a walk-in, and they were gracious when I asked them to draw it up three different times to get it correct! The shop is clean, attractive, and the staff are all wonderful. I am in LOVE with my tattoo and absolutely could not be happier! I would go there if you need a clean, simple, black-line tattoo like my own.

Super friendly guys. The piercer, Jake, was great. He kept the atmosphere light with jokes and really didnt make it that bad. I got my nipples pierced and he really made sure I was happy with the placement and that they were straight. I definitely would go back here, it was clean and open but the piercing room was quiet and private.

I have three tattoos from King Cobra and I love all three. They are easily the best traditional artists in state college as well as skilled artists in any style. Mikey and Timmy did the work on my leg. They are both extremely talented, patient, and friendly people. I wish I wasnt moving so I could get more work done by them!

I went in their with my friend to get her nips pierced and we had Jake do it. He was so nice. She was super nervous so he eased her nerves by just having casual conversation. He has a lot of knowledge and experience in the piercing industry. I felt so comfortable I am going back to get my belly button pierced!!

Ive been going to Tattoo Marks for about 2-3 years for piercing and tattoos. First time I was there was for regular old ear piercing. Jake was super nice, piercings were done in a few seconds, everything healed great: easy-peasy. Since then Ive gotten 4 tattoos by Timmy, Justin, and Jake. I love all of my tattoos; those dudes know what theyre doing, and they care a lot about the longevity of their work. Also, I think they work fast which is good for pain and your wallet. While their walls are almost all traditional looking tattoos, they can do pretty much whatever and do it well. Im no expert on tattoo styles but mine are kind of all over the place. Most recently I got an art nouveau tattoo that I initially approached a different place for. Things fell through and I ended up back at Tattoo Marks. I told them I was nervous getting this tattoo there, based on what Id seen on their social media, but Timmy was super patient through all my fretting and really nice about it. In the end Timmy did this delicate, vibrant flowery thing; its absolutely beautiful. I cant decide if its exactly what I imagined or if its better. So Im pretty sure I dont need to go anywhere else while I live in State College. On the off chance they are hesitant about doing something, I recommend you listen to their concerns because its usually for a good reason, like aging issues.

King Cobra Tattoo has exceptional tattooers with clean designs...the only thing better than the ink is the experience provided by the guys who work there! They provide a comfortable, relaxed environment and top notch conversation. Mikey in particular is a stud. Great prices too!

I walked in to schedule an appointment and was actually able to get a tattoo done as a walk in. They helped customize my tattoo and I am not disappointed with the results at all.

My first tattoo experience 16 years ago was horrific...my new one (got this past Wednesday) came as a wonderful experience. Timmy inked me and he was so friendly. He immediately put me at ease. His artisitic abilities are superb. When I saw my tattoo for the first time I cried (it was extremely meaningful) and what did Timmy do? He gave me a big smile and an even bigger hug! Love him...Clean studio...friendly staff....professional...YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THESE GUYS!

The artist there are really good at their jobs and do a fantastic job!!!! The reason for the 3 starts is because there is one guy that is always there that overcharges EVERYONE. I went in one day to just see how much my tattoo would cost but when I came back I got the overcharging guy and he charged me like $20 more than what the original guy said. The same thing happened to my friends. He is always there and it has made me go to another shop just down the road

Ive had lots of work done at Tattoo Marks. I cant say enough good things about this place. It is top-quality tattoo work! Ive had work done by both Tim and Justin (mostly Tim) and theyre equally talented. Most recently Justin did a beautiful job on a tiny, sentimental tattoo for me. I would not go to any other tattoo place within 300 miles. These guys are the best!

The best artists in State College and the longest careered artists. I come back frequently from the west coast and only get my work done by Timmy Tatts and Lowercase J. I find it amazing how fast they work, a large thigh piece with shading and line detail taking under 2 hours is proof how mastered they are.

If you like old-skool, classic styling and want your tattoos to look the best, even decades from when you got them, go here. If you want somebody to scribble on your arm and dont care if it looks like soggy bread and all mushed up in ten years, then go somewhere else.In all seriousness though, go here. No, do it. You wont regret it. This crew is really great at what they do, and they wont steer you wrong.I remember once this guy came in and wanted a sword and had some other fantastic ideas that seemed to randomly pop into his head about how great his idea was, I think it involved lightning and a slogan that said My Heart is Dead Janice, WHY!?!, he was obviously grieving over the loss of a girlfriend he met a few weeks ago. Timmy let him down gently and very kindly explained to him that some of the ideas wouldnt translate all that well into a good looking tattoo. In the end, he left with a clean, proportional dagger that had a slogan and some appropriate styling, one that he wont regret. My point is, theyve been doing this a long time.

For a spontaneous decision to get a tattoo, and having King Cobra at a convenient location, I am super happy! The artists were talented and friendly. I got the tattoo on my foot and they helped ease my worries about the pain factor (it barely hurt).

Ive had a few piercings done here, and I just got a tattoo done as well. Their work is excellent and the staff members are funny, professional, and really put you at ease. Its a great shop!

I actually had my nose pierced somewhere else but was having issues with it being to tight. I called and they got me in right away. Took 3 seconds to fix and the professionalism was on point. Will only go there for future piercings orTattoos now just based on customer service alone.

If anyone is going to shove needles through your nipples (or anywhere else) It should be Jake. He always makes me feel comfortable and at ease with his calm personality, precision, and hygiene regarding the piercing process. But I never saw a tattoo I like come out of this place, just not my style.

Absolutely wonderful.... I recently went back because I tried to change my piercing myself and had no luck with that but the guy that does the piercings(I think his name is Jake?) is awesome and got me fixed right up no problem. I will def be going back for anything else I need. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

The place is clean, He did a good job at getting what I wanted on my back. But took out a lot detail and their black ink faded quickly and now it looks greenish black and its been less than 6 months. Free touch ups, but Ive had another tattoo at a different shop that still looks new.

Just finished getting my 4rth tattoo, all done by Justin, aka lowercase j. Each has been great, and still look great years later, with the oldest being 6 years ago. Fair prices, very clean. I wouldnt recommend any other tattoo shop.

I drive 2 hours to get tattoo’d here by TimmyTatts because he is a legend in doing old style traditional tattoos. You can get real American traditional tattoos from all four guys here for a fraction of what you’d be charged in Philly or NYC. State College is lucky to have this shop!

After having an awful experience at another tattoo parlor, I emailed King Cobra and they responded almost immediately. After a consultation, they got me in and fixed the mistaken tattoo. I’ve never been happier working with someone as much as I have been with Mikey. I highly suggest this parlor, especially Mikey, for all your tattoo wants and needs!

I got a piercing and the guy who did it was very cool and knew exactly what he was doing. I got one lip ring from ikonic tattoo and they were better and used all the sanitary materials and even fixed the piercing done wrong by iconic. I love this place and Ill be back

Great artists at this traditional tattoo parlor in State College.

Dont go here if you have darker skin. Im Indian American, medium brown complexion. I asked for a color tattoo with dark pink. They said the color may not be exactly as I wanted. I thought it may be a bit lighter or off, but I could deal. It came out bright orange. See the attached photo for a comparison. I asked for a color correction. They should have apologized and offered to redo it for free. Instead, they told me they had given me a warning and they would have to charge me for the correction. I would not advise going to a shop that doesnt acknowledge their mistake and fix their work. I suspect they have limited experience tattooing brown skin - which is their problem, not mine.
