As a walk in for a navel piercing request, I was greeted by Jake immediately and I waited for my turn in the lobby. The steps taken to keep a sanitary environment was amazing and the conversation was even better. The lax of the room made for an overstaying but welcoming experience. The navel piercing came out perfect and centered and the price was fair. If I had other navels to pierce I would return - but I don’t so I strongly recommend others to see Jake for any other piercing requests! Remember: cash only!

Went to get my first piercing, decided on an industrial. Everything has gone smooth and I returned to Jake for my daith two weeks later. I went with my partner to get her lobes pierced for the first time a few months back. Jake was super friendly and personable and the studio was very clean. He was very accommodating and reassuring of my partner being nervous around needles as well as being trans friendly. We had a pleasant casual conversation about the CIA and MK Ultra (my fault, I had just listened to a podcast) which I think put her at ease. All the jewelry options were Stainless Steel (I believe 316 but could have been 304, I don’t remember) which, although not typically industry standard these days, is totally fine if you don’t have any reactions too it which are uncommon in the first place. The aftercare recommendations were thorough although slightly outdated. He recommended cleaning with saline several times a day and washing with fragrance free soap in the shower while a more up to date approach is a little more hands off. These are pretty nit-picky concerns and are by no means actively harmful so I felt entirely comfortable. My partner didn’t have any problems with the healing process and is very happy with the outcome. Overall, the price is right (Again, I don’t quite remember but it was in the $60-$80 range before tip) and I would absolutely recommend this studio.

Jake was amazing! I got my snake bites done and didnt hurt as bad as I thought! This is my first piercing other than my ears so I was definitely nervous. He was so friendly. We had great conversations and just had great customer service! I am going to go back here once Im healed to change out to smaller rods and possibly another piercing! Shop is very clean and well maintained! Highly recommend 💯

Today we visited North Cove Piercing Studio. I brought 2 adult daughters, an adult daughter in law and a granddaughter. We all got various piercings and all agreed it was a pleasant, relaxed experience and I for one felt no pain. The proprietor, Jake, made us feel like family. I give this shop the highest rating possible. I’m a senior citizen and this was my first piercing. I’m already looking forward to my next one.

Jake is amazing! Ive had a few piercings done here, and every time its over quick and surprisingly without much pain, his pricing is very fair, and hes personable and comfortable to be around. Weve gotten into some great conversations during my appointments! He knows his stuff and makes sure that you do too before you leave. And not for nothing, all of my piercings healed really easily and Ive had no issues. I also go back to him to take out the studs and hes even fixed one of my piercings when a ball on the ring fell off without any trouble at all. Will come back here for all my piercing needs. 😊

Awesome experience. My daughter wanted her nose pierced for her 16th birthday. Paperwork was simple. if you’re bringing a minor, make sure you have correct paperwork. The shop felt clean and inviting. The piercing was very quick and painless. The placement is perfect. My daughter is happy. The price was good, especially compared to other local shops. 5/5.

Jake the snake is the best! My septum, industrial, forward helix, and mid helix were all done by him, and I plan on going to him for any future piercings. The three ear piercings just hit a year old and have healed up beautifully (photo is of the fresh piercings). Great conversation and just an overall wonderful dude, and those prices can’t be beat.

I stopped by on Saturday around 2:30pm for a simple jewelry change, Jake was tending to a client, had 7 people waiting and then myself. He takes about 10-15 minutes per person so while I did wait awhile, I honestly have no complaints. I could hear him constantly asking if the clients were okay and if they liked the placement/final look. Every person walked out super excited about their piercings. He was super cool and made me feel heard about my concerns that a different piercer had caused. He’s very knowledgeable and honestly just a great guy. I will definitely be back for future piercings and would recommend him to anyone. It is only Walk-Ins and Cash so be prepared.

Dropped in with my teenage daughter and her friend for ear piercing. Young folk need a parent for consent forms and its a cash only transaction (Wells Fargo across the street is very helpful). Jake is a kind and thoughtful conversationalist. Meticulous in his measuring and speedy with the pokey part. The shop is spotless. Highly recommend and well definitely return.

I always love coming to North Cove for my piercings and I will always leave a review! Last Friday I got my other nostril done and only three days later I have virtually no soreness or swelling. Jake has always been a fantastic piercer since I first saw him 9 years ago. I didn’t think it was possible but he continues to improve with time. He has done both my nostrils, my septum, my tongue, and my navel. I had one nostril pierced prior to having jake do it and it healed terribly. I thought it was me but I realized later it wasn’t done very well. All my piercings with Jake have healed far quicker than expected and I have never had a single issue with any of them. I live in auburn now and I still drive to him in Tacoma. Not to mention his pricing is great, and the jewelry he uses/sells is high quality. Environment is always extremely clean and feels more like a cool doctor’s office. I will be back for my final piercing someday soon!

Jake is absolutely fantastic. He did my industrial about a year ago. Jake is very friendly, clean, and gives honest advice. He walked me through the entire process and distracted me a little when I asked. He kept me entertained throughout the process by talking about Legos and painting.Unfortunately, as much as I love piercings, my body doesnt respond super well to them. I was fine throughout the whole piercing process, and it wasnt until I tried to stand that I began to feel clammy and faint. Jake noticed how pale I had become and told me to sit down again. He reclined the chair and asked me to put my feet up. He got me a cold water bottle to put on my neck and forehead, and he made sure I kept talking to him to make sure I stayed conscious. Despite the potentially stressful situation, he remained light-hearted and professional knowing exactly what to do. Jake made sure I was okay before letting me go, explaining that one of the reasons hes walk-in only is that when things like this happen, he wants to make sure that the people sitting in the chair with him have enough time to fully recover before leaving without feeling rushed. My industrial piercing in total cost $80 which included switching the barbell from the original longer barbell used to accommodate swelling to a shorter more comfortable barbell. He also told me that when I wanted to change my industrial for the first time on my own, I could bring in the jewelry and he would show me how to do it on my own free of cost. I 100% recommend to anyone looking to get a new piercing. He is the absolute best and I wouldnt consider going anywhere else!

My experience was amazing. I got my nipples pierced and he was great. Super professional and patient. Answered all my questions. We rattled on about harry potter and star wars and before I knew it, he was done! Everything is healing great, placement is impeccable and just 2 weeks later my tenderness is gone. Will absolutely only be going to him from now on.

Jake is awesome, super friendly and great energy. Clearly sterile shop and watched him pull every piece out from individual bags. Gives you a piece of paper with aftercare instructions (I know I forget them all the time so thats super awesome to me). I was showed the intended placement prior to the piercing and he happily adjusted when I asked. Community centric and altogether great experience. If you have to wait, its because hes GREAT!

Jake is an awesome piercer. I had an ear re-pierced by him before covid. When I decided to finally get my nose pierced, I decided to go to him. He is super knowledgeable and patient and had a good positive personality. He answered all my questions. I was very nervous but it wasnt as painful as I thought and its been 4 days and I barely have any tenderness or soreness at all. The first couple of days it was really mild. When I decide to get my next piercing, it will be here. He knows his trade well. And when I am ready to change out my jewelry after its healed, I will go to him. First off, I want to say that I’ve never experienced this level of professionalism or customer service with any piercer/studio. I honestly believe Jake is the best in the Tacoma/Olympia/Seattle area.I had my girls pierced and he was so calming that I hardly felt it. I had them done in Seattle seven years ago, but let them close up because you know…life. He aligned them to the right spot and he pierced them correctly! Won’t name the studio in Seattle but they changed locations, good hint :pAnd lastly, I want to add that I will be getting many many more piercings by him.Also! The artwork is great :))

Oh my gosh he was so friendly and comforting and nice! This was my first time getting anything pierced and I got both sides of my nose done and we were just casually talking while he got me all done. I had absolutely no anxiety and was really enjoying my time!! I totally recommend this place to anyone looking to get something pierced in Tacoma. He isnt at all pricey and hes very VERY awesome lol. Walked in, asked if there was availability and how much my piercings would be. (Cash only) thankfully ATMs are located across the street.Was promptly greeted, communication was excellent. Professional, clean and very friendly. Did not skip on sanitation, constantly changing gloves, sanitizer, cleaner, all equipment was brand new and unopened. He opened it all in front of us. I couldn’t have had a better outcome today, it was genuinely worth the drive. A friend and I got to have our piercings done together (one at a time, sanitized in between us as well) but it made the experience that much more memorable. Thank you!

I got my dimples pierced here about two weeks ago and Im in love with them! The process was quick, clean, professional, and virtually painless and I was given some good aftercare supplies and tips, all for a very reasonable price. As long as you follow the aftercare instructions carefully and use common sense during the healing process, you should have no issues. Jake is incredibly clean, professional, and overall a really nice guy and has made me feel very comfortable and accepted every time Ive gone in to get my bars changed (which is saying a lot, because Im a very awkward/quiet person). I definitely plan on returning here for future piercings!

I am from CA and decided I wanted to get both my traigus pierced while visiting family here in WA. I already had a dozen piercings but this was by FAR the best experience. Jake is the piercer I trust the most! I have been to him a few times and he always does an amazing job. Very personable yet professional. I have been here twice. The first time was for an ear piercing and re-piercing. Then I came back a week ago and had my ears stretched. Both times I was here I had the best experience. The owner is awesome, very knowledgeable, and has many years under his belt. I had several questions at each visit and he was so patient answering my questions and educating me on the piercing and stretching. I will not go anywhere else! I am encourage everyone I know to come here if they need piercings.

No B.S... I am extremely critical of customer service venues. Jake was fantastic. I was pretty nervous because I read getting certain piercings redone would be more painful due to scar tissue and my pain tolerance is extremely low. Honestly, Im floored at how well this went. Im very happy and pleased with my piercings. The office was clean and organized. He put new gloves on every time he went to a drawer to get another prep item, or different sized piercing, etc. He took his time cleaning and measuring, but the piercing itself was so fast - it made the pain minimal, to say the least.Things to note: 1) Its a walk-in friendly environment, so be patient and hell get to you. 2) Cash Only - stop at the Wells Fargo right next door.Ive had a couple of piercings done at various shops before. Its not that they were bad, but Im only going to Jakes from now on. It was worth the 60-minute drive.

Owner is so friendly, the shop was pristine clean, and he did such a great job. In all, very clean, great guy and worth whatever time it takes in line to get what you came for!! For a shop of his own, he’s faster than any other piercing shop I’ve been to and the best experience hands down. I got my second daith piercing and said goodbye to my migraines for good now! Jake was so professional and friendly. He made sure my medusa piercing was in the perfect spot before proceeding. He had no problem answering all of my questions and making sure I was knew how to care for the piercing and what to expect during the healing process. I’ve gotten my piercing done plenty of time by other people. By far one of the best; Jake was super relaxed and calm when piercing me. I got my industrial done and it was super quick and not really painful. I also love how you can walk in and get a piercing instead of fighting with other piercing place to book one or pay a deposit fee. I highly recommend this place.

Jakes service is absolutely phenomenal! I got two left lobe piercings back in summer 2019 for $60. The cost covered: the piercings themselves, the jewelry, aftercare, and free jewelry replacements for those piercings.Now, back in 2019 I just thought that the free jewelry replacements would only be to get a shorter stud post when my ear was no longer swollen. No! I just recently visited (Jan 2021) to look for some fancier jewels (the front part of the stud) and Jake told me that those were free of charge, too. Being an individual who will absolutely pay for fine service, I refused to leave Jakes shop without handing some $ over, so I told him to take my cash as a tip.All things said, Jake is an absolute gem with exceptional service and dedication to his clientele. The saying typically goes you get what you pay for but Jake has me claiming you pay to support amazing service.

I got my tragus pierced and Jake did a wonderful job. It was clean, fast, and gentle. Everything was sterilized, the studio is very clean and he is very friendly. I walked in having a rough idea of what I wanted, had a pleasant conversation about options and I learned a thing or two. When I asked for different kinds of advice on the piercing, they were helpful in providing different options and letting me decide. They let me mess around with where exactly I wanted the nose stud so that I came out feeling confident. The materials used were all sanitized and the jewelery options seemed to be good quality. No problems with aftercare as long as you follow the aftercare instructions provided! good experience!

I have seen Jake for my nostril, septum, navel, and as of last night tongue piercings. My tongue has little to no swelling and is hardly sore at all. Jake is great. I’ve been here for all the piercings I’ve ever had done for my ears. He’s never given me a reason to go elsewhere for a piercing. He even put up with me when I couldn’t make up my mind about where and how I wanted my piercing located (I’m very picky about that sort of thing). He was very patient, and his studio is very clean.

This as the best piercing experience Ive ever been through and from now on I will go here for all my piercings. Ive had my n*pples pierced before and it was the worst experience Ive ever had. I took those out as they werent healing properly and decided to go here for new ones after they healed. The experiences I had are incomparable and I was amazed with how painless and quick this second time was. As long as I live in Washington, this will be my go-to and I recommend North Cove to anyone whos looking for a clean and enjoyable piercing experience.

Jake is awesome. I was super nervous to get my nose pierced, he cracked a couple jokes and got me to relax. Did a mark on my nose to see if I liked the spot and was happy to adjust it and give me a second to breathe before he started. I totally thought he hadn’t pierced it yet but the jewelry was already in and I barely even teared up! Gave me great after care instructions and told me to let him know if I had any questions later on. It healed amazingly and after about 4 months with my piercing I was back to in person at work (I had been working from home so only was wearing a mask for quick grocery trips) but I recently went back to work and wear a mask 8+ hours a day in a humid environment. The mask makes my face really sweaty and I was starting to notice some irritation on my nose piercing. I shot jake a Facebook message on the North Cove page and he replied super fast with a remedy for me! He is a super helpful guy and made my overall piercing experience and after care feel less scary! 100% would recommend and will be getting any future piercings at North Cove!

I was checking the hours just now to see if I can swing by sometime soon to buy another pair of half barbell piercings since my ball screws keep getting lost and realised I hadnt reviewed yet! 5/5, it was a wonderful experience all around. The wait time was longer than I expected but that was entirely on me - I chose a walk-in on one of the busiest days of the week, at the busiest time of day lol.I went with a friend and was really syked out since Ive never gotten a piercing before (not since I was an infant), and certainly not a 10g piercing right off. The piercer was very kind, though, very friendly, and answered any questions I had; he did an amazing job of distracting me so that I didnt have a chance to flinch when he did the piercing. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and fully intend to come back whenever I get around to getting another!

Very clean little shop with an extremely experienced piercing artist. Not only was he cheaper than the competition, Ive had a lot of piercings done and this was by far the quickest and least painful experience Ive ever had. I drove all the way from enumclaw to see this guy because he came highly recommended at one of the tattoo shops Ive been to in the past. I got my nipples pierced, which is definitely one of the more painful and awkward ones, and honestly Jake made it an unbelievably positive and professional experience. I will never go anywhere else for a piercing. Jake has always been my go to, even way back before he had his own studio. I would go some place else and be quickly reminded why Jake is the best.1) Hes a super rad guy, super friendly, and talks you like a human. All his stuff is sterile in packaging-- Im a professional certified sterile processing tech so this is a HUGE thing for me.3) His studio is great! And all the super rad jewelry in front.4) Quick piercing with hardly any pain (its a piercing... Of course it hurts!) But when he places the jewelry... It doesnt hurt and he does it so fast!5) In great detail, explains the best care of your new piercing. Gives you saline, and makes sure you walk out 100% positive that you got this.Overall, I would give him a 10 if I could. Thanks so much Jake. I love my new piercings and Ill be back once these heal! Jake did a beautiful job on my frenulum of my tongue. Went in today, and he helped me and my mom really quickly. He made everything clear about tg rules because Im 17. There was an incident of a very impatient customer who came in and was questioning me where he was. He works by himself and honestly is pretty quick and thorough so I dont know why she was like that. But overall, it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend going there. He has 15+ years experience so he kind of knows what hes doing 😊

Fantastic experience. I had a cartilage piercing done with a stud and was impressed by Jakes technique. It healed a little funky (absolutely no fault of his) and my stud was kind of pointing upwards, so I wanted to try a hoop. Today (3 months after piercing) I tried replacing the stud with a hoop on my own, failed, and ended up losing the jewl that screws into the post for my original jewelry. I immediately went back and he put in a new hoop for me AND replaced my stud, all for free. I was in a lot of pain from my clumsy attempts to put in an earring, but he was super quick and clean, totally minimized pain. He genuinely wants the best healing experience for his customers and was super understanding of my situation. Thank you Jake!!

Its honestly the best place to get pierced at in Tacoma! I got my nips pierced and my sister got a septum. He was very clean, welcoming, and most importantly answered all my question educatedly. I was very nervous and he talked me through every step. I definitely will be back!

Jake was very nice and calm. I got my septum pierced and he pierced it up way to high and Im very unhappy about it. He didnt use a clamp so he knew where he was piercing, he just pushed the needle through. Septums arent supposed to be very painful but it was extremely because he went through my cartilage.

Ive gotten seven piercings from Jake, and its a great experience every time. The conversations always good, the piercings are as painless as possible, and the prices are very fair.

There are no appointments here. And that is a great thing. Appointments would lead to the care this place takes with its customers to become an issue on time. I got a cartilage piercing and my friend got a septum piercing. We were in there for 45 minutes and most of that was for recovery time. You are taken care of and the piercing is done by hand with high levels of professionalism.

I went yesterday to get my tongue pierced. Every 5 star review on here is so right. He was a pretty awesome guy. He let me know what was going to happen before he did it. The piercing was fast & seriously didnt even hurt until after it was done. He actually took the time to answer all my questions before I could even ask the questions lol. Hes friendly, VERY respectful, and has an awesome sense of humor. You dont get this kind of service in most tattoo/piercing shops. Wonderful customer service! The owner/piercer does a great job at helping you with the process of getting a great piercing. He also supplies A LOT of great products that are all REAL as well as really unique. Anything from standard metal to bone and stone jewelry. Most of it is one of a kind as well, just like the owner/operator. I wont go anywhere else now and I wouldnt recommend anyone else either.

Edit- owners response to this is sappy at best and all he notes is money.Scars do not heal with refunds and redos.After consulting with several APP (association of professional piercers) members it’s obvious to me that this dude doesn’t know what he’s doing.Jake made fun of me and my friend for being “basic” and then messed up our piercings.Didn’t bother to tell me I didn’t have enough room for 3 front helix piercings and decided to take my money instead- even though they wouldn’t heal.I feel awful for bringing my friend here- she and I have had to pay more to fix them in the end.

Went in for my Tragus(60)on my right ear and ended up getting my belly button redone as well. He was fast clean and friendly. Very patient to the fact that I had my four year old and boyfriend with me. He also honored my position in line. I had arrived and saw the cash only sign and left and when I came back he held my place and helped me after he was finished with the young lady before me. I will be back soon for more. For sure going in for stretching my ears.

I didnt end up getting pierced here. I walked in (as it is walk in only) and asked about getting pierced. The piercer said he could do it in a few minutes and I could wait. He did nothing to even welcome me or act like he wanted me there. I called the shop prior to get some questions answered but no one ever answered the phone. I also noticed a sign that said, cash only and since that wasnt told to me on the answering machine, and I had no way of even knowing how much cash I would need, I ended up leaving. I cant say how this place is at piercing but I can say that they need a bit more customer service.

Went in hoping to get an industrial piercing. I was told I didnt have the biology for it (i.e. it wouldnt fit properly in my ear), but that my ears were a good shape for a conch piercing. I got a conch and am very happy with the overall process as well as how it looks. I appreciated that he was knowledgeable enough and showed the integrity to say that a certain type of piercing might be risky instead of just doing it because I would pay. Would recommend and will likely return for another piercing!

Jake does everything the right way, aka super sterile and clean. Hes not big on answering the phone since its just him in there so just pop-in with your questions including pricing. Pricing varies depending on what kind of jewelry and location so there arent going to be any prices online. He only takes cash FYI. For reference my daith piercing with a bar was only 60 in 2017.

First time there today, got my septum pierced. i have gone to lindas piercing in puyallup for a nose stud in the past and a navel/belly piercing, but i like Jake (the piercer here) better. He was VERY clean, the piercing room reminded me of a doctors office. Very professional, very educational and talked the whole time, for the first time i was not even anxious at all! im usually very anxious on piercings, but definitely coming back. He even through in a bigger radius septum piercing for free, since i had gotten the smallest one to hide from work (tucking in). I wish i had known about this place sooner in the past few years, i would have gotten my past piercings here too.

I called and left a message and never got a returned phone call so I went in right when it opened. JAKE said he does not do nostril piercings and said he would get a huge fine if he did from the state of Washington but that was NOT TRUE because I got it done by another shop the next day.
