Walked in yesterday and York (? hopefully thats right!) squeezed me in last minuteHuge thanks to him for staying late after a long appointment to get my first tattoo done! He explained everything clearly, made me feel comfortable, and absolutely nailed the design. Definitely coming back here for my future tattoos as well!!

Andre was just opening the shop. fast forward 8 years and quite a few tattoos later— the shop is filled with the most talented artists, the most BEAUTIFUL art on the walls, and the most loyal customers you’ve ever seen. my wife and i come here for all of our ink. there’s a reason people continue coming back here year after year.Andre, the owner of the shop, has done ALMOST every tattoo i have on my body (25/27 tattoos). he works fast, has a steady hand with clean lines, he’s full of tv and movie knowledge (which helps pass the time during the painful spots), his dry and witty humor is the best, and he’s got SO many years of experience. i feel like there’s nothing this man can’t do. sometimes i feel like i come in with the most absurd ideas, and somehow Andre makes sense of my visions, and then amplifies them x1000000. and he’d never hire an artist he didn’t think could do the exact same thing.so grateful for this shop, for all the memories i have in here, for the beautiful artwork Andre has put on my body forever, and for the guarantee that i’ll always have an honest and professional shop to rely on in tacoma.ink is unmatched.artists are unmatched.old tacoma tattoo is unmatched.

Stopped in here for a flash while on vacation. I was drawn in from the pics on Google. The shop seemed to be sick and the artists had a style I really liked so I gave a call and soon I was in! Jordan was my artist and he totally killed it! Stoked to have added a new piece to my leg sleeve. I highly recommend stopping in. Keep up the great work everyone!

The shop was clean and the staff was professional. Jordan tattooed a Phoenix on the inside of my wrist and it came out perfectly. He has such a light touch. I am planning on a much larger piece next time.

Ive been going to Andre for almost a decade now, since before Old Tacoma Tattoo was founded. Hes the best, plain and simple. Ill never go to anyone else, even if that means I have to drive the 10 hours from my place in Montana.

Andre from Old Tacoma Tattoo was absolutely wonderful. My twin sister and I were looking for a place to get tattoos honoring our late mother for our 18th birthday. We brought in a baseline photo and one of the many cards she wrote us and yesterday (May 31st) he gave us both these beautiful tattoos that just blew us away. He was so kind, caring, clean and helpful. Would recommend to ANYONE, especially if its your first tattoo!

First time tattoo. Andre does great work. Able to take ideas, concepts and pics and create art on paper and canvas. Highly recommend!

I love my tattoo, but these guys really need to work on their PR. As a first timer I felt rushed and put down. I think their work is quality but I would not return because of the way I was treated.

My Aunt and I booked memorial tattoos with Jordan and they turned out great! We did get started a bit later than expected but he did a great job and this is the first time I had no swelling or scabbing with a tattoo. I will be going back to see Jordan in February!

And his motley crew of phenomenal artist. Darin, Aaron and York will not disappoint.You will leave loving your work an offering to pay them more than they charged you. Best artist in old town.I was a little nervous about going to a new tattoo parlour. Darin, Aaron, and York were so pleasant and friendly, immediately putting all my anxieties at ease. I had the pleasure of having a custom piece drawn by York. I am so ecstatic with his artwork. I am an art snob and hard to please. I will be back for more.Cheers

Darin Forrest has been my tattoo artist for more than ten years. He can do it all. Hes an incredible artist and a true professional; always willing to take on my crazy ideas and put his spin on them to make them exceptional, truly unique works of ink art. The whole shop is filled with massive talent. The atmosphere is inviting, the place is super clean. Highly recommended.

I am giving 1 stars, because I did 2 tattoos in this place, first one was more than great , I went second time after couple months later and NEW guy made me something that is usually easy , just writing some sentences on my forearm, an he did it each letters different and different size ....In my country Bulgaria one tattoo artist said for this tattoo you need to start practicing on his head , completely disaster, hopefully he is not working there ever and never touch this business

My tattoos from Andre and Aron (5 total) still look new years later. You can tell they care about the longevity of your work. They listened to my ideas and gave me better than expected artwork. Clean and ready at the appointment time. Easily 5 stars.

Andrea does the bast tattoo work. I have went somewhere else and had to have him fix there mistake. I have learned not to go to anyone else. He has always had a clean shop. I have been going to him for years and my brother has had amazing work done by him also. He takes his time and does a great job.

Tyson got my siblings and I in on short notice to all get our first ink. And he was super accommodating when my sister wanted to change our planned design. Our first tattoos turned couldt have turned out better. All the other artists in the shop were very friendly as well. Next time Im back in Tacoma Ill definitely come back to Old Tacoma to have another piece done

Been getting tattooed by Andre my whole life. The place is clean their work speaks for itself. I read a few reviews regarding the overall demeanor of the Tattooers. Its pretty appropriate for a tattoo shop, if you want someone to blather on about nothing, go to church. If you need to be glad handed or like to gossip, go get your nails done or your hair did. Nobody is gonna talk you through your tattoos. Seek therapy. I would recommend these guys to anyone, great shop. ( Opinions stated may or may not have been swayed by Stickers and or TShirts)

Tyson was awesome, not only did he give me a great white ink tattoo, but he was fun to talk to through the process. I was scheduled for this tattoo a few days after the Covid shut down and he really prioritized getting me in. This meant the world to me and I know he sacrificed his time to do so! I’m so appreciative and am coming back for more art!

Tyson is my artist of choice, he has done some great work on me and my husband. He is always ready when we come for our apt and very professional. He is a perfectionist in my opinion which is a good thing because if he’s not liking the work the customer isn’t going to like it. I just can’t rave about him enough. Especially my “Muppet tattoo” my last name shows up different on google than it really is so I’m hoping the muppet comment will tell him who this is. I will return to him as long as I have space for work to be done and as long as he is doing work! Nobody else will tattoo me again!

Darin has been tattooing me for about 12 years. I brought him very rough ideas of what I wanted and he reached into my mind and brought my ideas to life. He tattooed my foot, both my armpits, and rather large biomechanical fu dogs on each of my sides. His execution was perfect, his work stands up over the years and he is very professional and friendly. The shop is spotless and everyone else who works there is also friendly and very professional. 10/10 If you wanted to get tattooed by the best you found the right spot if you are reading my review.

Andre (the owner) is awesome. Very talented, and professional. The shop is always clean. I wont go anywhere else, and in fact I drive down from Seattle to get my work done at OTT

Got work done by York who I believe was a guest, super great guy. Didn’t knock our silly idea (chicken nugget) and was super fast and professional!

Great place. I was new to the tattoo game, but Darren was patient and willing to be honest with design, placement etc so that the tattoo comes out the best it can. Also very friendly. Would recommend of anyone trying to get something!

Stopped by on our way through town and Seth helped us draw up an idea for a tattoo and it turned out awesome. Friendly staff and affordable pricing. Very impressed with the work.

Not sure the name of the man who tattooed me, he barely spoke. he was unfriendly, dry and just socially awkward. i got a small tattoo and was in and out in 20 minutes, but the service was absolutely horrible. talking while im getting a tattoo helps distract me, he could barely even socialize with me while leading up to it. not going back. tattoo itself was good, lines were solid.

Brand new shop, but these gentleman are not new to tattooing. Easily the nicest tattoo shop in Tacoma. No egos here, just great quality tattoos from experienced tattooers.Clean traditional, Japanese or fully custom tattooing.

This place has very good art BUT if you want a simple tattoo done dont go there because they wont bother putting there time into it because they wont feel like doing it
