No joke the best place in Tampa. Not only is every single person that works here extremely talented but they are also the kindest and most down to earth guys you will ever meet. I have personally been tattooed here multiple times and always left with the finished piece being 10 times better than I could have even imagined it. I also send a lot of my clients here and every single one of them has come back absolutely thrilled with their pieces. Got my first tattoo here. Theyll talk with you about what youre looking for and then pair you with the artist that they think will be the best option. Aiden was great and ran me through the whole process including the aftercare and made himself available to contact after. Even during the appointment, it felt like the entire staff was involved, consulting to make sure the stencil looked straight and positioned in the best spot. Highly recommend checking them out!

I had my first tattoo yesterday at Hawks Electric Tattoos. I couldn’t be more happy. Joe did mine and I saw other very talented tattooists inking others. I have zero complaints. I gave Joe an idea of what I had in mind and he expanded on it (having me approve any change). It’s gorgeous. It was a relaxing, fun environment with awesome artists. You will not be disappointed and I will highly recommend this shop to anyone who asks (and doesn’t).

My boyfriend and I are from Germany and spent a week in Tampa for vacation last week. We walked in the shop spontaneously and asked for a little tattoo for both of us. I’ve been getting tattooed by Cody at Hawks Electric for a little over a year now. Nothing but great things to say about his work and I’m constantly impressed with the creativity and quality. I made a reservation through email with Mike. Day of my appointment, he was ready and waiting for me with a design he created. The business seems well run, I loooove the decor and awesome artwork around the studio. The owner is so easy to talk to and I will definitely come back to get some work done by him.Mike was easygoing and made me laugh. I saw all male artists and they made me feel welcomed. The tattoo came out absolutely amazing and healed well. I recommend this place for traditional style tattoos!!

Great artists and great experience. I’ve been there twice now for both of the tattoos I have and I do not want to go anywhere else. The environment is clean and welcoming and the artists can do a range of styles. I personally had Devin and he gave me a really clean tattoo with really good line work. Highly recommend !!!

Went with two girlfriends to get tattoos on vacation and the atmosphere was amazing. Everyone there was so amazing to work with. Super clean. Guys all had a great sense of humor, super fun environment and they were so helpful with everything. Very clean line work and absolutely delivered on what we wanted. They made sure we were happy with placement and design beforehand. Couldn’t be any happier with the experience and the results. Also very reasonably priced! 10/10 would recommend and next time I come back to Tampa will absolutely visit them again for another tattoo.

My fiancé and I had such a great first experience! This was our first tattoo and Aiden worked with us that day. Aiden was amazing. He took the time to get our designs exactly how we envisioned. He walked us through the whole process and answered any questions we had. The whole atmosphere there is so fun! Everyone was so welcoming. We will definitely be coming back for the rest of our tattoos!

11/10 Experience with Max Councill! He made sure I was comfortable and ready to rock and roll from start to finish. Loved seeing all the art on the walls too! The overall energy/vibe in the shop was fantastic. All the artists were friendly and cranking out some awesome tattoos while I was there. So happy with my newest piece!

Woke up and decided today is the day for a new tattoo. Im new to the area so didnt know where to go. Did a quick Google search and found incredible reviews about Hawks, so I thought what the heck lets go. When I tell you the reviews were not wrong. As soon I walked in, I knew I had found my shop. The vibe was great. Cody worked me into his schedule without an appointment and did an amazing job. He has the hands of a baby angel. The guys banter was hysterical and the music was right the whole atmosphere was perfect. I will definitely be back for more work. Just go you will not be disappointed. 10/10

I’ve gotten tattooed by Max multiple times, he’s the BEST and always knows how to elevate my ideas x100. I never stop getting compliments on the work. From what I’ve seen at Hawks, I’d trust any of these guys to tattoo me. Everyone in this shop has always been friendly and gone above and beyond to make me comfortable and also have spoke up on tattoo placement and feedback when asked. I spent a whole day getting tattooed here and 90% of the clientele coming in that day was female which I think speaks volumes on the professionalism of the all male staff here. making us feel safe and respected.

Best shop Ive ever visited. Ive been to Hawks Electric twice and cannot recommend their work enough - Joe and I have worked together for three separate pieces now and each one exceeded my expectations. I came here for my second tattoo on my ankle; I was super nervous at first but as we finished up with paperwork, my artist Cody M. And another artist Devin B. began joking around with Me easing my anxiety. Everyone there is super pleasant and respectful! The shop itself is cozy, spacious and very clean. If youre looking to get any new pieces or touch ups I 100% recommend every artist in this shop. Im super pleased with my piece and experience here; Im definitely planning on returning in the future!!

While visiting Tampa from Canada the boys at Hawks Tattoos came through for me with an awesome new custom tattoo! After Aiden worked hard on drawing up my design he was super sick on tattoo day and then Devin stepped up and hooked me up with his own amazing owl design that I’m proud to be able to take home and surprise my son. Loved the atmosphere at this shop and the guys are just fun to be around. They make everyone super comfortable and care about their clients and giving top quality tattoos. I highly recommend them and will be back for sure!

Hawks Electric is a top-shelf joint. I have been a customer for three years and am always delighted to go back. The shop itself is clean and atmospheric with its high ceiling and endless walls of artwork. Headed by Joe--who is knowledgeable, dedicated to his craft, and just plain hilarious--the staff are a friendly and charming bunch. Cody, Mike and Andrew each have unique styles and are professional in their approach to clients ideas. I always recommend Hawks to folks looking to get some ink done. Easily the most comfortable and raddest shop in Tampa. I’ve gotten three tattoos there now, one coverup, all from Cody Martin and I love them all. Best part is that while Cody was my artist, each artist in the shop is nice, professional, and create a great atmosphere with each other and the clients the entire time. They charge fair prices for outstanding work. I’m stoked to book more with Cody and the rest.

This shop is 10/10. The owner, Joe, is very nice and welcoming. Everyone who works there is super laid back and there’s no “snooty and better than you” attitude that some shops have. Cody is a great and talented tattoo artist who did 2 giant Japanese pieces on my legs to cover up some stretch marks for me and they look amazing. The line work is perfect and the colors are very vibrant, and for my first Japanese pieces he really exceeded my expectations! Love this shop, and will be coming back in the future! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

While on vacation in beautiful Florida I decided to have a tattoo. So I did a little research and found Hawks Electric Tattoo’s. I went in & met Mike Amador, who was very friendly and welcoming. Important Fact: the shop was clean & pristine. And my tattoo came out amazing! I highly recommend giving them a try! As a matter of fact, all the gentlemen in the shop were incredible! 5 Stars for sure!

We contacted Devin from Hawks Electric a week before we came to Tampa. He was extremely accommodating. We discussed what my husband and I were thinking regarding our tattoos and Devin took the ideas and made them better than we could have anticipated. The tattoo shop itself is clean, and is a very welcoming environment to be in. You can tell that everyone in the shop loves what they do, and as a result turn out amazing pieces of art. We will be coming back to this shop whenever we are in town.

Joe the shop’s owner did my tattoo it was done as a cover up he did an amazing job and is extremely talented. I recently got my first Celtic inspired tattoo, first tattoo ever, at their shop. Devin was my artist, and immediately upon walking in the door it’s like you knew each other for 15 years. Super friendly, great bunch of guys, engaged you in conversation and made you feel comfortable immediately. I really enjoyed the experience and I’m definitely coming back

This whole shop & tattooing experience was amazing!! Been in Florida for a few years now and was needing a solid, trustworthy shop. Came here to get a very special scripture tattoo done with my siblings and they did such an amazing job accommodating us. The pricing was super fair, they had great skills & talent. The energy in the shop was great too! Joe, Mike, and (I think) Cody took care of us and they were all killer. I had a great experience at Hawks. Aiden worked on me and was outgoing and very professional. I just got a simple birth year on my thigh. He was well versed in typefaces and match the vision I had in my head. He had the other artists in the shop look at the placement and style of the stencil before we started and, as a visual artist, that is something I really appreciate. Then when it was finished we walked around the shop and showed his coworkers my fresh ink and they all had reassuring words of praise which was honestly one of the best feelings ever coming from serious tattoo vets. Never been on a tat tour before and that made a huge impact on me. Two weeks later, its healing up just fine and I will definitely be coming back in the future.Thanks again Aiden !

(I did overhear the owner Joe has magical baby soft hands so you cant go wrong with either artist in house!)

This was possibly the best tattoo experience Ive ever had. As soon as I came in the front door, literally every artist greeted me and seemed genuinely happy to have me there. I asked if they took walk-ins, they said sure. I wanted a digital image tattooed on my inner arm and Joe Hawks took a great deal of effort to keep the image true to its digital form while making sure it would look great as a tattoo. He asked several questions while getting the tattoo drawn up that I would have never thought to ask, made me feel comfortable and like my opinion mattered, and was just overall friendly and warm.Even after the temporary outline was placed on my arm and I said it looked good, he leaned in to inspect it closer and decided it needed to be moved a half inch (I had requested that the tattoo mirror the position of a similar tat on my other arm). He was right, it did need to be moved! Excellent eye.The actual tattoo process was top notch. He would give me a heads up on anything out of the ordinary he was about to do (extra long lines, larger shaded area, etc), and took great care in his work. Hes obviously been doing this a long time and is professional, enthusiastic, and detail-oriented.Stellar experience and I cant wait to go back for more art.

Goofy, but super professional shop. Everyone in there having a good time, but they take tattooing seriously. Went for Friday the 13th and not having to sit and wait in line was an amazing thing to be able to have. Super clean store as well. Cody went as far as to have someone take his wallet out of his back pocket after he had put gloves on and was sterile. Great experience and would absolutely get tattooed there again.

I saw Joe Hawks wearing army pants and flip flops so I got a pair of army pants and flip flops.Him and his sons also do amazing tattoos and are very friendly and caring. I’d recommend them to anyone looking for a quality tattoo. But watch out for Cody, he doesn’t know the different between a tiger and lynx.

Visited Hawks Electric with my partner and after seeing the work that Joe had done for her we both knew this shop was it. Joe and his crew are a bunch of stand up, cool dudes. The shop is super clean and tidy and it reflects in the work they do as well. I was sold the minute we walked in and met Joe, so we went back to have my first tattoo done by him as well. That was a couple weeks ago now, the tattoo is nearly fully healed, and all I can think about is the next one. Thanks again Joe (and crew) for the good time and cant wait to be back!

I could not have picked a more perfect place for my first tattoo. I was greeted by the entire staff as soon as I walked through the door. The shop had a fun and festive atmosphere. Everyone was interested in my tattoo selection and the decision I made for the image. Mike was courteous and professional as he explained the tattoo procedure. He. went over several versions of my tattoo. Once finished, every artist wanted to see the end result. They all congratulated me and seemed as proud of my tattoo as I was. Devin was my artist and he did an incredible job!!! I was getting a small word & he was very patient and made sure it was exactly how I wanted it. I had a great experience at Hawks Electric. I got my throat/neck tattooed by Cody and he absolutely killed it. He drew up his interpretation of a death head moth for me and executed it perfectly. It really pops! It was my first time at the shop and it was awesome. Top notch shop with top notch artists. 10/10 would recommend.

Joe the owner has done several tattoos for me over the years and I have been nothing but satisfied. Great people and great work. My wife has been to a few other shops and says hands down from a womans stand point as well that hawks tattoo and crew are Very personable and they make you feel safe and comfortable. I went into Hawks with a super vague idea of what I was looking for and everyone was incredibly helpful in getting me to the finish line with the perfect tattoo for me. Cody did an amazing job reworking my existing tattoo when we figured out a cover up wasn’t the best thing for me and he made sure I was happy with the outcome every step of the way. Went in for a tattoo memorial for my dog. Max drew it up, made adjustments to it from my feedback, and made sure I was comfortable and 100% sure about the design of my dog. Everyone in the shop was kind and tactful regarding the sensitive subject matter; they made me feel welcome and among friends despite being in one of the roughest spots of my life. Highly recommend this shop and I’ll be returning ASAP.

Cody and Devon made our family tattoo session fun, easy, and a lasting memory. Love the vibe Joe and team have created. My wife and I dropped in to inquired about a family session and they made us feel welcome and at ease about our first tattoos. Came for a possible consult, stayed for an amazing tattoo from Mike Amador and an appointment for more with Devin! Stopped by to talk about getting a sleeve done, the guys were extremely helpful and we were good to go, but wait, theres more. Mike had some availability and I was game, so we picked a great looking American traditional design and a few hours later, Ive got some awesome ink and my next appointment to work with these outstanding folks. The setup in this shop is friendly and open, and every tattooer in there is worth a visit - I saw four at work while there and the quality is first rate for each! I will be working with these fine folks for a long time to come, and you should too.

I recently went over to Hawks Tattoo to get an apprentice tattoo by my old friend Aiden. Not only did he do any amazing job but the environment in there was so chill my friend Bre even ended up getting a tattoo by Devin which was also AMAZING! I had been working up the nerve to get my first tattoo for months, so I did some research. I picked Hawks because they had amazing reviews and their portfolios were beautiful. They did not disappoint. When I made an impromptu visit to the shop today, I was lucky enough to have Joe Hawks himself apply my first tattoo! He was professional, courteous, and patient as he showed me how the procedure would work. Joe took as much time as I needed to get the stencil and its placement on my body just right (after all, this is a permanent tattoo).I got a minimalist tattoo of two straight lines. Let me tell you, Joe can draw straight lines better than a ruler. My tattoo turned out exactly the way I wanted it, with perfect placement, proportions, and line weight. The vibe in the shop was casual and fun while still being a professional tattoo studio.Ive never been tattooed before today, but if I ever decide to get another one then Im definitely booking an appointment with Joe Hawks. This guy is a miracle worker. Five out of five stars!

Hawks Electric Tattoos is THE BEST!! I had an amazing experience there and would highly recommend them! I was visiting Tampa for a few days and really wanted to get tattooed and when I found them they were very helpful in getting me an appointment and setting me up with an artist that would suit my design. First of all Joe Hawk is an absolute artist. He completely surpassed any expectations and left me with a piece of art I can proudly show off. I went in with my gf to get something done on valentines day but I had no idea what to get. The owner Joe greeted me with a smile and said how can I help you and took the time and patience to help me narrow down an idea without rushing me. He made sure that I found the right one. I also got lucky cause Joe seems to have a long waiting list and had a last-minute cancellation this day, so he was able to squeeze me in.I knew I wanted something Japanese, and I quickly found out Joe is a big fan and student of Japanese-styled tattoos. We narrowed down the list, sketched it out, and off we went.Joe was knowledgeable about tattooing history, the greats, and all of the music that was playing. Hes built up a solid team of guys in there that make you feel like family. They all walk over and check out each others work and cheer everyone on with the pieces theyre getting. Not to mention the solid amount of roasting that goes on in there. I had to be sure not to move or twitch because I was laughing so hard.I did want something small and nothing major but ended up getting this massive goldfish on my forearm, and I couldnt be happier. I got my first tattoo here today and Lauren did an amazing job. I was really anxious and she helped calm me down a lot so I could enjoy the process. She answered all my questions regarding pain and did a small portion to make sure I was okay with it. Easily the best tattoo shop Ive been to. The atmosphere is incredible. They hang work theyve both done so you can see their styles. Its always bright and so well lit. The artists are beyond talented. Joe has a style that is very unique that captivates you. He clearly knows how to treat his employees based on how happy everyone is. Jons art is ridiculously amazing. He can capture the emotion of an animal through the eyes. He also has incredible line work. He uses bright colors that pop and really help your tattoo stand out from the rest. Both Joe and Jon keep you talking while youre in the chair and include you in conversations. They go above and beyond to make sure youre comfortable. By far the most wonderful shop in the Tampa Bay Area.

Came from out of town to Tampa Bay Florida for the bucs game and decided to get a tattoo while I was in town. I contacted a bunch of tattoo parlors around tampa and Hawks received my business because of their prompt response. I got my tattoo from Mike. He did very well and was very professional. I gave him a generic photo and he spruced up the tattoo. All the artists were very nice, professional, funny and fairly easy going. When the stencil was put on each of the artists looked over placement and helped Mike make the best choice for my tattoo. The establishment is nice, very clean, spacious, with beautiful artwork everywhere. I dont know if Ill ever go back to Tampa, but If I do, I will definitely contact them for another tattoo.

Ive been to Hawks twice now and Ive had Cody both times. This time I actually brought my mom in from out of town for a tattoo. Both Cody and Joe are funny and very personable. Their artistic skill is beyond amazing. I wont go anywhere else for a tattoo.

Was very happy to get my first tattoo here, I was greeted by Lauren and she was very nice, chill, and pretty funny. I showed her what I wanted and she fit me in. I was in and out, tattoo came out perfectly, and will be coming back soon. My girlfriend also liked Lauren and will be coming to her to get more work done in the near future

My son and I went together for our first tattoos and Lauren Margo helped us through the entire process. She was so professional, kind, enthusiastic, and went over and above helping us design personalized pieces according to our ideas. She put us at ease, and the results are fantastic. Highly recommend!

I went into the shop with a design already in mind and Lauren hooked me up! She went over some sketches with me, and in no time I had a beautiful new tattoo. She is very kind and has a light touch. The process was nearly painless. I look forward to working with Lauren again for my next piece!

I love Joes place. It is very neat and clean. Joe and Bob are very nice and will work on anything you want. Their tattooing work is top notch and I will not go anywhere else. I have gotten 2 tattoos there and I want more. My wife also got a tattoo there and she loves it. I cant wait to go get my next one.

I ended up not going with this shop, but the exchanges I did have were extremely professional and honest. Although I was interested in working with Joe, he ultimately came to the conclusion that I would be best served by going to another artist who specialized in what I wanted. Furthermore, he provided excellent recommendations on places I should check out. I will definitely circle back with this shop in the future.Thanks again!

Awesome guy with exceptional service. Very personal guy who has awesome attention to detail. Really like the way they meet with you before you get the tattoo to ensure that everything is exactly how you like it. I highly recommend anyone looking for a tattoo guy. He did my first one and I will never go to anyone else.

All the artists at this shop are amazing. I’ve gotten a few tattoos by Mike now and I love them so much. The shop is clean, the guys/artists are goofy and professional. It’s a nice environment and I’ve never felt uncomfortable there. Love this shop.

Clean cool spot, happy to have them in our awesome neighborhood for sure. Several friends have their ink done there and no complaints, actually said they dont dig you hard and truly great artists so my sexy wife and I will be making some appointments. Beautiful work

I have gotten 4 tattoos from Joe and am very happy with them. The shop is clean and smoke free, Joe and Bob are very friendly and easy to work with in the planning and implementation of their work. As they say Welcome to your new addiction !

The guy forgot about the appointment i made a 20 dollar deposit for and when i called the day before to see the design he made, he drew something up in like 30mins that looked nothing like what i wanted. I replied with the things i liked about the tattoo (to be nice) and things i wanted to be changed, he got offended and passive aggressive. I told him to just forget about the appointment to which he replied Great! Ill just fill that spot up and kept the deposit. Do not recommend

I was a walk-in, just passing through, hoping to get lucky with some available time for a reasonably sized black and grey piece on my arm. Not only did they get me in the very next day (which I did not expect), Lauren Margo put together a design that matched the idea in my head almost exactly and did great work on it, too. Ive been in the chair five times before and this is my favorite one.Chill atmosphere, good talented people, and a laid-back, friendly environment. Id like to go back next time Im in Tampa. I cant say enough about not only the tattoo skills Joe has, but the entire experience I had at Hawks Electric Tattoo. From the moment I stepped in the door for my initial consultation to the day I came back after my half sleeve had healed, my experience was something that you dont find very often anymore these days in ANY business. Joes attention to detail and his personable demeanor are hard to find anymore. Ill be back again for sure!

Joe squeezed my friend & me in while on vaca, on her bday, NYE for some small-single needle tattoos. It was pretty impromtu & he was incredibly patient with me while I contemplated location & altered the design idea making it more unique & artistic! We saw a few other pieces as well while we were there. SO MUCH TALENT & fun guys to hang out with as well. Love the shop! Thank you Joe!

Laid back. Always a great atmosphere. Professional. Owner has the cleanest lines and phenomenal traditional and Japanese style tattoo backgrounds. Definitely recommend him for both traditional and Japanese style; in fact tell him I sent ya specifically for that!!! Highly underrated and under the radar. However that is how the owner wants it, as he was taught in the old school ways and is a very modest individual. Joe exceeded my expectations in getting my first tattoo. Joe and Bob are very personable. Joe explained everything in detail regarding the sterilization and the tools being used. He answered all my questions. It was an awesome experience and the atmosphere was great. I am already planning my second tattoo at Hawks Electric Tattoo.

I got two walk in tattoos. one from Joe then a week later a G-W-Y-G for $100 out of the toy machine from Mike when I was there for my familys appointments with Andrew!The three of us couldnt be happier with the art put on our bodies! My only complaint is that we didnt get the chance to have Cody tattoo us!Joe sneezes in front of ladysWe will come back!

Had my first tattoo competed by Lauren, which was a tattoo with my sister! She made me very comfortable and had a lot of patience. I told her what design I was interested and she drew up a design- I love it!!!! I highly recommend Lauren and will be ack again!
