Empire Ink - Custom Tattoos & Art Gallery

I had a great experience at Empire Ink today. I made an appointment, was whisked right in. I was listened to and we made some slight changes. I would recommend Ashley and say look at the most recent reviews when you are rating any business. Feel comfortable, at least based on my experience. I did meet Scot the owner and he seems super.

Ron is my artist. Working on a tribal sleeve cover up. I was told by many shops over the last 10 years that there is no fixing all the garbage kitchen table ink I have, but Ron came with the fire. Nailed the concept so well I have given him complete control over my entire right sleeve and making plans to fix my leg after.I would highly recommend this shop if you are looking to get something impossible done.Good Tattoos Cost MoneyNo Whining

Honestly doing this for one of my best friends, they had a horrible experience with them being let in when there was an active flea infestation where their brother found multiple fleas on them, and trying to reschedule and being late with a tattoo that my friend had planned a month in advance, and it was her birthday. I understand that there are artists here that love the work they do, but this kind of behavior is not okay for a place of business, where we are expected to spend our money..

Got flash tattoos done yesterday by I think her name was Lizzy? She did some amazing work! She took her time to make sure lines were clean and shading was on point! They look amazing and are well worth it. I can’t wait to see them fully healed! Great time hanging out and getting inked! Wish I could’ve found her profile online to see more of her work :/

My wife and I came to the shop for their last Friday the 13th sale and the owner threatened to shoot people and was overall really aggressive and cussing for no reason. I went to come back for this Friday the 13th with a friend and had another bad experience. Not worth the time.

I had the unfortunate experience of going on a flash tattoo day. I’m not sure what happened but the owner was screaming at his baby momma in front of everyone with his kid sobbing next to him. It ruined my whole experience and I’m definitely not going back. It felt really unprofessional to be screaming and cussing in front of all of your customers.

Sitting here waiting for a tattoo and the owner just yelled that he was going to shoot someone in the middle of a flash sale. What the heck? Leaving and not coming back.Edit: Saved my life? There was no threat in that shop other than you, throwing a tantrum. Aside from making a child cry and kicking customers out mid-tattoo, you were very unprofessional.

Alex is my tattoo artist. She is doing a refresh on my Starry Night tattoo that is looking amazing so far. She is also adding on to it to form a half sleeve. The atmosphere of this tattoo shop is so chill and supportive. Everyone excited to see what the other is working on. My last session felt like my own personal hype team. I am so happy I stumbled upon Alex on IG. I definitely recommend this shop for multiple reasons. Oh, cash only (as most tattoo places are), but it is so worth the money and the time the artists put into each piece.

Awesome place! Very friendly and professional. Drew did an was job on my husbands piece and Alex gave my son and I both, our first tattoos. They both turned out amazing! Would absolutely recommend. I know for certain my husband will go back to Drew for any future tattooing and I will absolutely be going back to Alex, she’s awesome! I’d been dreaming about this light house tattoo in honor of my grandparents for years and Alex brought it to life for me!

Amazing. Absolutely incredible staff and extremely professional. The photos I added are from Scott Versagos studio which is filled with awesome horror movie props. Will definitely travel back here from Windsor.

Me and my husband has had 3 tattoos total done at this shop everyone is like family in there and the atmosphere is so calm. We plan on many more.

My sister and I got great tattoo from Sebastian last week, he was patient with our decisions and changes. Was a clean studio and they let us watch Ridiculousness for distraction. Tatiana was very helpful in booking our appointment and talking me through her experiences.

I would never go back to this shop again. My wife bought me a gift certificate as a Christmas gift one year from this place. Not only did they not honor it, they were bold in stating we don’t care. In all fairness this was some years ago. I just seen them come up while posting reviews and decided to review my experience. Things could have changed since this time, but non the less, it was a horrible experience and a decent loss of money. Not to mention the wife’s heartbreak from this gift not working out.

Been there two times in two days. Both were great experiences; excellent tattoos; and super awesome pricing!

I had a really good experience from start to finish. I called and asked which artist the recommended for what I wanted and they set me up with Frank Miller. He and I did a quick consult and booked an appointment shortly after. At my appointment check in with super easy. The shop was wonderfully clean and they had a decent little waiting area. It took maybe 5 minutes for Frank to come and grab me and he went through the whole process with me and gave me this amazing tattoo that means the world to me. I would highly recommend the shop and the artist. I will definitely be going back.

I have gotten several pieces done here over the years and always been impressed by the artists but the work Karly did today was superb! DEFINITELY recommend Empire Ink.

We had THE BEST experience here with Scott!!! He was a character while we got tattooed and made the experience great. My cousin and I came early in the morning and came back later that day with my sister because this shop was just awesome. The quality of tattoos is amazing and the atmosphere of the shop is great. We will definitely be recommending this tattoo shop for all of our friends and family. We are already planning on when we come back!!

There was a bit of miscommunication, on both sides. I didnt ask enough questions and the details about the tattoo itself were vague. However, the manager was extremely professional and helpful. They have an amazing portfolio and seem to do very good work. The atmosphere is an open floor plan with inviting staff. They definitely made things right and I would recommend them for medium to large size tattoos.

I honestly had one of the best experiences I’ve ever had at a tattoo shop with Scott! He was amazing and efficient. I absolutely love the mini tattoos we got today. The entire atmosphere with him made the visit! He was fun and kept the conversations going as he tattooed each of us. There wasn’t a dry part to our visit.

Ashley is amazing! Very professional, very friendly, and makes you feel very comfortable. She is my artist for life. Her work is so clean, she takes an idea and pulls it into beautiful art. 110% recommend having her tattoo you!!!!!

The owner is AMAZING!! He is such a great guy who obviously cares about his customers and their artwork. He only hires the best artists. The work that come out of this shop speaks for itself. Got my tattoo 🍒 popped by Frank who was AMAZING. My boyfriend passed away in October after an 8 month battle with cancer. I found a love note he wrote me and I wanted nothing more than to have what he wrote permanently on my skin. I am so happy with the results, I think I cried 3 times at the studio.The staff that cleans after a session could work for a hazmat company. They are EXTREMELY through wiping and spraying every last nook and cranny before the next person is scheduled.All in all, I give this place and their entire staff 10/10. Everyone is really nice and the comfort level is great.Thank you for making my first experience beyond what I expected. I will be back 🖤❤️

I came here for the first time and let me tell you the best experience i’ve ever had!! Ron did my tattoo and he took his time and made sure it was exactly what I wanted. Their team inside made me so comfortable and it was fun to sit there and talk with them!! 10/10

I worked with Destinee Reed on a medium sized piece. I got a custom piece and she beautifully captured all the elements I wanted in my tattoo and also worked with me to modify the design before we started working on it. She was quick and did an awesome job.Only thing that bummed me out is that the place is cash only. I personally dont carry cash on me and had to run around to my bank. They do have an ATM inside, didnt really work for me.

Met with Ove Menduza for a podcast interview and I was very impressed with the set up and professionalism of everyone I met.

Empire is the only place Ill go to get a tattoo! Everyone is incredibly helpful and informative without making you feel stupid. They make sure that what youre getting is what you want, and are willing to work with you to make changes and adjustments. All of the artists are incredibly talented and I would confidently get a tattoo from anyone there without any hesitation. On top of that theyre incredibly friendly and have always made me feel welcome.

Clean shop, I didnt get any work done there, they seemed a bit unsure about doing the kind of tat I wanted, which is good because I dont want anyone to just say they can do something then mess me up. Tattoo shops need to keep on sight portfolios for customers to pick up and see examples of their work instead of a business card with an Instagram link. That would give a customer a chance to see their work right at the point of sale, and discuss the pros and cons of an artists work and ability. You dont want customers to just take info and leave.

I got my hands tattooed here by Don twice. Hes incredibly professional, helpful, and understanding! Hands hurt, and he stopped when I needed him to and did not get defensive or tease me, like some artists at previous shops have. I took my sister here to get her tattoos reworked and he did a wonderful job. Highly recommended to all my friends, and many of my friends do frequent this shop. 10 stars out of 5!

India did my breast cancer tattoo for me today. A couple days ago I got told I have cancer for the 2nd time and it’s not even been 8 months! This woman put her best work on me and I was so impressed!!! I couldn’t be more thankful for this woman and this shop. They gave me my tattoo free of charge and my heart just dropped, obviously I couldn’t let this happen so I gave her money anyways!! This shop is amazing and I will be back for her to do my bilateral mastectomy tattoo!!!

Im sorry to hear that some people had bad experiences with this shop. I had a rather intricate tattoo done there and it is still one of my favourite. I cant remember his name (it wasnt Scott), but he did a fantastic job, was kind and courteous, and was ready when I arrived. Everything was clean and neat as well. I had absolutely no complaints with Empire Ink (quite the contrary), and I have a lot of tattoos and have been in a lot of shops, so I have plenty to compare it to.

Excellent experience. Stopped by on a whim, had a cancellation and they took me right in and took time to understand what I was looking for and far exceeded my expectations with the end result. Will definitely be back!

I got my first tattoo on Friday. Des did it. She was amazing. The design was better than I thought, she was friendly and professional. I am going to go back and get some more. I would 100% recommend this place and Des.

I contacted Scott to get a large thigh piece. Drove the 2 hours there, he designed it with me sitting there, fantastic piece. He asked how much Im willing to pre-pay and hell double it. Paid $400 and he said he would email me the following week to set an appointment. Following week, nothing. I email him to see whats going on, no reply. Eventually I get a reply and we set an appointment. Something medical came up for me and I wasnt able to get the tattoo done and wasnt sure when I could in the future so I asked for a refund of the money I prepaid. He said he had to think about it since it already had taxes paid on it and would get back to me. No reply for weeks. I keep emailing him and no reply. Eventually I ask if I can get a different piece done so the money doesnt go to waste -- he says hes uncomfortable working with me and to pick a different artist. I picked the shop for him specifically. I would steer clear of this scamming place.

Ive had three tattoos done all by the folks at Empire. Always professional and helpful. The last two were very detailed and on my fingers. Awesome job. Headed back in a few weeks for a custom sleeve which I know will be good.

I Highly recommend came for my first tattoo. I got 3 butterfly’s done, when you come ask for Destiny. She took her time and she’s friendly I love my tattoo and if I get anymore I plan on coming to her everytime 💜. Thank you Empire Ink and Destiny.

Great place if youre looking for a clean shop that does excellent work! I just got my second tattoo here and love it. They are helpful and willing to answer all your questions. Definitely recommend!What made me go here is that they reuse nothing. Everything is disposed of that could possibly be the source of and disease spreading.

Brett Ries is the best artist I know. He makes you feel comfortable while doing tattoo. The other staff do not judge any tattoo you get. Its a very very very clean place. Everyone is friendly and very thoro about their work

I stupidly put down the required $500 deposit and received an awful cover-up. It took a year for it to be finished because Scott cancelled on me 7 times. Unprofessional, would not recommend this place at all. Scott is a fantastic artist but a terrible businessman, lacking in basic customer service skills. Really felt robbed and disappointed.

Long wait time on Friday the 13th special. Cash only, ATM charges fee. I was also charged on same ATM a fee for the shop itself which Ive never seen anywhere ever. Good artists tho. Appointments would work better than walk in.

My boyfriend got his first tattoo at Empire Ink. Lets just say hes hesitant now to get any more. The place looks really nice, but it must be a facade. They set him up with a new guy who called himself the tribal guy. It turns out that this artist presented a false portfolio and is now in jail. Needless to say, it was the worst tattoo I had ever personally seen. The tattoo was a giant tribal cross with wings on my boyfriends back. I finally talked him into getting it fixed, and when I contacted the owner (Scott), he agreed that it was a bad tattoo and he said hed fix it himself, for free. Well he did half of it and said hed do the other half another time. We came in again (after scheduling an appointment) and suddenly he could no longer do it. He enlisted one of his workers to do the other half, and, well, it didnt turn out symmetrical. The tattoo is still not fixed, or finished, and my boyfriend REFUSES to go back to get the free fix. He says he would much rather pay the cost again to get a good artist to fix it. In the end, hes gun shy of tattoos because of the bad experience, still has a messed up back tattoo, and is $300 in the hole because of the payment to the con-artist. Does this studio not run background checks on their workers?The owner told me hed give me a discount if I got a tattoo there. No amount of money saved could ever get me to risk my skin at Empire Ink.

I was looking for the best place for a tattoo cover up. I investigated on-line and found Empire Ink,I contacted them and told them I live a couple hours away. I sent an email of a pic of my existing tattoo and was immediately contacted by Empire Ink and teamed up with Scotty Oswald. He is truly an artist, he sketched me out a beautiful tattoo.On the day of my appointment he was very professional and made me feel completely comfortable. The tattoo turned out better than I could of imagined. I love it! I will be scheduling another appointment very soon with Scotty. Well worth the trip. Thanks Empire Ink.

This is a hard review to write. Mr. Versagos work is impressive and theres no denying that. The problem is service. I had an appointment for a tattoo to be done through one of his many 100 portraits-$100 dollars specials but got rescheduled ad infinitum. I was scheduled for Sept, then early November, then late November at night, and then a second time after that. I get the feeling that once he gets your money through one of these promotions, its kind of a crap shoot. If you plan on getting a tat from him, I would recommend forgoing the limited-time specials and get a normally priced one. He will probably put a priority on a regularly priced tattoo than a discounted one..I have a feeling that he probably sold all his promotions deals and didnt realize all the work that was due after getting the money, thus a case of sellers remorse.

After almost 5 years of service to the Akron area, Empire Ink is still learning and growing. Hosting Ohios top artists, they put out top notch work to the best of their abilities. They are cleaner than your average shop and have an incredible image. Run by the incredible Scott Versago. This shop is a world wonder. These are masters. Highly recommended.

Artist not only took his own artistic liberties with a tattoo that meant a lot to me, but was under the influence while he was working on the lower portion of my sleeve. Artist did not take my suggestions into consideration and claimed this had become his piece. Im frankly embarrassed of my sleeve and am really disappointed in the work I paid $1,400 for. What a waste of my time and money.
