Appleton Tattoo

Came in a few years back for a death moth tattoo having no idea how much I would come to regret later.This artist had little experience as you can tell from the photo and a detrimental lack of talent I wish I had foreseen.I was in absolute shock when I saw the results and even went back to my phone to look at the photo again. Outside of it looking NOTHING like the presented photo of what I asked for, the line work was uneven, wobbly, shading isn’t filled in completely and the skull in the center looks like a toddler drew it. The photo I showed him is down below so you can see what I asked for vs. what I got.I knew I was going to breakdown and didn’t want to be confrontational so I tipped him (honestly don’t know why) and left abruptly.I got to my car and broke down immediately. After the tattoo healed I kept it covered at all times and didn’t show anyone due to how embarrassed and ashamed I was of how awful it looked.As soon as I could I scheduled with a reputable artist willing to do a cover up for me that cost over TWICE as much as the original piece. The artist that covered it up asked me “what happened” and “what is that” shaking his head as he couldn’t figure out how someone messed it up so bad. Even the cover up isn’t perfect but the reputable artist that I saw worked with what was there and did his best and I am grateful that I no longer have to look at the original work that traumatized me.To this day it still upsets me, this piece had deep and spiritual meaning for me and the work that was done was absolutely offensive. Unfortunately, I am still emotionally traumatized and livid with this shop and the lack of integrity they have in the tattoo industry.Thank you Appleton Tattoo for ruining what could’ve been a beautiful piece of art. If I could give zero stars I would. I’m hoping my story can act as a warning for future clientele. STAY CLEAR of this shop if you want quality work from experienced artists!

My friend and I got some tattoos and while we love them so much, we just feel like the coloring couldve been done better. My friend had spaces in her tattoo that were basically colorless when the reference pictures in their books was a lot nicer.I got a leaf and I LOVE IT. But I think the line work is blown out and a bit wobbly and I just feel like they couldve taken more time to do it.BUT!!! WITH THIS BEING SAID!! The artists were more than friendly, welcoming, patient, and understanding. I love the artists here and for flash tattoos I will be back. But more complicated tattoos and realism tattoos dont seem to be so great. I LOVE these guys though.

Appleton Tattoo, located just off College Ave, is a great family run business and Jason is a fantastic tattooist, thorough and he maintains a light touch that makes the experience very enjoyable. I highly recommend this shop!

They were amazing!!! i called and asked about walk-ins and they were able to get me in within an hour! the artist who did my tattoo was so gentle too! i will definitely be booking with them in the future!

Robert did a tattoo for me today for my two children who sadly passed away. He was amazing. My tattoo when finished made me so happy it brought tears to my eyes. Its exactly what I wanted. Very friendly as well. Shop is very nice and peaceful!
