Lady Octopus Tattoos

We travelled up to DC from Alabama and my daughter and I got matching tattoos by Jason. The booking process was easy but thorough, Jonathan made sure we were all set. The shop was easy to find, clean and had a good vibe. Jason was amazing, real nice guy and professional. He drew up an idea based on what we sent him and it was perfect. Very talented artist! Overall we are very happy with the entire experience.

Truly the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had! Everything from the setup/scheduling to the art to the tattoo itself was stellar. My husband and I booked back to back appointments which they were very gracious in accommodating. Caitlin is also a FABULOUS artist. Can’t recommend Lady Octopus enough!

I absolutely love the tattoo I got from Olena Pukach at Lady Octopus Tattoos!! Her design is exactly what I wanted and she was quick and very professional with the service. It healed so quickly as well, after 4 days with the Second Skin bandage, there was only one additional week of tenderness and no peeling whatsoever. I was also allowed to use numbing cream for the tattoo, which was a major plus for my experience. Furthermore, the studio is lovely and Jonathan was very professional in communicating with me to schedule my appointment, as well as being understanding in rescheduling when I got sick unexpectedly. I have had the absolute best experiences at Lady Octopus! Ive been back multiple times and Jonathan makes booking so easy. Gilda is a gem and not only is she an amazingly talented artist, but also a fantastic person. Her line and illustrative work is incredible and unique. I trust her guidance completely - from the design, the placement and everything else in between. You can tell she is so passionate about her work. She takes the time to make you feel comfortable also and ensures everything is sterile, she shows you the expiration dates, etc. I wont go anywhere else now that Ive found Lady Octopus!

Everything from booking to getting the tattoo itself was great! I submitted a request and was responded to within a day or so by Jonathan, who was very helpful with any questions I had and with scheduling. Once I arrived, I’m not sure the name of the man who greeted me, but he was nice as well while getting me checked in. The shop itself is very open, clean, and inviting. Caitlin did my tattoo and she was very kind and friendly, and has also helped with a couple of follow-up questions I had. I’m so happy with my tattoo and will be coming back to Lady Octopus in the future to see Caitlin again!!

Absolutely phenomenal work done by Caitlin (@caitlin.astrid). Truly the least painful healing process I’ve ever experienced for a tattoo— barely any itching at all! Caitlin is so patient with customizing shapes/designs and stencil placement. Can’t wait to come back for the next one!

I got my first tattoo here with Gilda. She is a great person and a fantastic artist. She was patient with me and took the time during the design process to make sure I was getting what I wanted. I plan to get my whole right arm covered, and I plan to come back here very soon. Great service, and they actually respond to emails and customer inquiries, which makes them even better. Everyone has different tastes in art, and mine fit like a glove with Gilda and her amazing skills.

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Lady Octopus is easily one of the best tattoo shops in the DMV. Very professional and very health conscience so you feel completely comfortable before, during and after the process. I worked with Olena on a piece my best friend (who recently passed away) drafted. She went above and beyond bringing his vision to life and I couldn’t be happier. It’s my new favorite tattoo. I highly recommend Olena and Lady Octopus for your next tattoo!

Gildas talent alone would be reason enough to go to this shop, but on top of that she is truly one of the best people I have met! She was professional, patient, knowledgeable, kind and made the entire experience authentically wonderful from start to finish. Dont second guess it- you will never regret sitting in her chair!

I have found my artist for as long as I live anywhere near here. James Haun is amazing and the entire staff does amazing work. The new shop is gorgeous and super clean and the crew is always really great. My wife and I have both gotten multiple tattoos from James, including a rework (my wife) and a cover-up (me) and are absolutely amazed with the quality of his work. I absolutely cannot recommend this place enough.

Gildas artistry was phenomenal, Im so glad I found Lady Octopus Tattoo! I have over a dozen tattoos, but knew that I needed to go somewhere different than my usual shop for a very specific tattoo. Upon arriving, I was able to describe to Gilda what I wanted. She listened to every detail, asked the right questions, and was able to draw up an absolutely perfect design based off of what I told her. The tattoo she did for me was more beautiful than I even expected. I cant thank her and Lady Octopus Tattoo enough!

This was a great place to get a tattoo, the building was extremely clean and inviting, making me feel comfortable the whole time. The staff was great and very helpful even with helping me find how to get in when I was a little lost. They have also been great with all of my questions post appointment and helping to ensure I understand proper aftercare. Olena was a terrific artist who made sure I was happy with each step. Would definitely recommend this place for someone getting their first or 100th piece done.

This was not my first tattoo, but it had been 10 years since my last experience. I regularly donate blood, so I was advised to travel to VA (MD doesn’t regulate). Gilda greeted me at the door and welcomed me into her clean, modern, cool vibes studio. She then took the time to discuss colors, orientation and effect of the tattoo I had emailed in the months leading to my appointment. From start to finish, Gilda followed aseptic technique. She accurately captured my vision for this tiny tattoo; the detail is truly the work of an experienced artist. I paid the exact amount that Jonathan had quoted via email...no surprises there. This experience was well worth the wait required by current scheduling constraints. Will definitely return for future pieces. Thank you Gilda (and Jonathan)! I love my new artwork!

Ive known Gilda the shop owner since she worked in DC. Over a decade ago.She did such a great job with the idea I had for my sleeve. I knew I couldnt go to any other artist after that. Now she has her own shop and is even more incredable. Her work is awesome and she is a kind patient person.

I came here for my first tattoo, a small and simple piece by Angela. I would definitely recommend this shop and Angela for a first tattoo. The atmosphere was very calm and low-pressure. I wasn’t very talkative (mixture of nerves and a painful placement) but the interaction I did have with Angela was great. She came across as very kind and professional. The receptionist was also very friendly. Overall a good experience. The tattoo has healed up nicely so far (it’s been a week). I would absolutely go here again.

I love Lady Octopus! Their process for scheduling is super efficient and I love the atmosphere of the shop. Susans done two tattoos for me so far and I definitely plan to come back to her. This was my first tattoo experience and I’m happy to say I will be coming back for more. I did my research on the studio all week, combing through several reviews and realized this place has everything I need. I called Jonathan the day I wanted to walk in to see if they could give me the tattoo I finally mustered up the courage to get and he was open and incredibly responsive through out the entire planning process. My artist, Angela, understood my nervousness and was extremely accommodating and transparent the entire process. She made me comfortable for someone who despises needles. I’m super happy with the tattoo itself and hope to come back soon once I have some more ideas!

I think it was fate that I stumbled upon Lady Octopus on a walk one day since I was already planning on finally getting my first tattoo. And let me just say that this was the perfect place to get it. First of all, the service is top notch. Jonathan was extremely helpful in discussing the pricing and answering all of my questions. Not only that, I forgot my bag with the after care lotion after I left, and he dropped it off at my apartment himself so I would be sure to have it the next day. It really doesnt get any better than that.I really couldnt have asked for a better artist than Gilda. She is extremely talented. She is very considerate and discussed every aspect of the tattoo (placement, look, etc) with me, and gave me suggestions when I asked for them. I felt very comfortable throughout the whole process due to wonderful conversations alongside her kickass talent.I came out with two beautiful tattoos and will definitely come back!

My husband and I visited Lady Octapus yesterday and were both tattooed by Gilda. The shop is beautiful, immaculately clean, warm and inviting. The staff were all friendly and more than willing to make our vision a reality. The tattoo turned out better than we could have imagined but the positive impression will last as long as the ink! We highly recommend this shop, its by far the best shop Ive ever been tattooed at!

Scheduling online was easy and heard back from Jonathan in a week with clear covid related instructions and an appointment with Angela.On the date of my appointment the shop was super clean and I felt safe as the covid protocols mentioned in email were followed to a tee. Angela was very friendly and made me feel so comfortable as well as giving me a beautiful minimal tattoo. Overall, great vibes! Best tattooing experience I’ve had to date.

Gilda and Jonathan are amazing. Gilda doors such refined work, her tattoos are true works of art, probably thanks in part to her being a Corcoran trained artist first before tattooing.Their shop is much nicer than the traditional tattoo shop, more akin to an art gallery and very clean.Between Jonathans entrepreneurial spirit and Gildas amazing skill, Nova now has a tattoo shop in a class of its own.

I simply went for a consultation and that experience was all I needed to know I did not want to give them my business. I showed the front desk woman two different pieces I would like. As she walked over to show the artist, she smile at her. Not a smile like she’s happy, but trying to hold on a laugh. When she showed the two pieces to the artist, the artist laughed, mind you this was twice. I didn’t see what was funny about me wanting tattoo and giving them my business. They were a bit judgmental as well. Hard pass.
