Iv been going to Brad for years! He’s always makes sure I am comfortable. Brads so easy to talk to when you’re sitting with him for a couple hours! We have developed a great life long friendship and my go too artist !

Brad made my roomates and I feel so comfortable! Great tattoos and he was very patient and helpful with us when we were unsure about size and fonts! Great prices and an awesome guy!

As Without So Within, in my opinion is the most exceptional tattoo shops I’ve had the pleasure of being in.I have been tattooed all across the United States and have had the good and the bad.I have known and been tattooed by Brad Clabaugh (shop owner) for almost a decade. I have watched him go from his apprenticeship to owning his own business. The staff he chooses to employ are nothing short of kind, respectful, and more than helpful, if you have questions, or are not sure of exactly what you want.The level of professionalism, cleanliness, and sterilization gives me 100% confidence while being tattooed and being pierced.Emily is the piercer, and she is amazing. She even changed my jewelry for me when I was ready and my piercing healed perfectly, I had no issues what so ever and knew I could call her at any time if I did have an issue.If you are shopping around for a place to get tattoos or piercings, know that out of any other shop in Athens, Ohio this is the place you will not regret choosing.As a woman, I have never felt uncomfortable, disrespected or have had to deal with any inappropriate comments here.That is something I cannot say about my experiences at other shops in this area.Brad does amazing work, and has taken some of my ideas and turned them into tattoos I couldn’t have imagined would be so beautiful!Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope you choose As Without So Within.

Emily did 2 piercings for me yesterday and did a wonderful job! She is super sweet, caring and patient! The prices are great and she was super helpful at getting me in at a time that met my schedule. She is very neat and organized I plan to continue going to her for future piercing!

She was super patient with me and really made sure that my piercings were spaced evenly and that I loved the placement of them before piercing. Every New Year’s Eve, my buddy and I schedule time with Brad to get tattoos together and we are never disappointed! Brad sets aside ample time for us, takes his time with his work and provides such a fun, welcoming experience while we are there. Brad is as solid of a tattoo artist as they come. Was here for work for a month and wanted to get a couple initial tattoos on my chest cleaned up and a ring tattoo redone. Two trips in total for touch up work the second time. Lines on the ring are solid, straight, ink is dark, absolutely no complaints there. For the 2 on my chest, when I went in for a touch up the on my ring (since my hands have been really dry and I had to work so lost some ink on it) he noticed a couple light spots on the ink that I couldnt even see until he pointed it out and fixed those up as well.Phenomenal attention to detail and clean work, set up an appointment with this guy for your next piece. If I come out here again, Ill definitely be coming to him for some new work.

Brad designed one of my very first tattoos and ever since then, I have been in awe of his talent, work ethic, professionalism and generosity. Brad is also finishing my sleeve and the outcome(s) have been beautiful and I get constant compliments.When youre getting tattooed by Brad, you know that not only are you getting an amazing tattoo but youre also gaining a life long friend. The way Brad treats his clients is beyond exceptional; he is open and honest and I trust his opinion implicitly. In my opinion, having a tattoo artist who is honest and upfront is extremely important. Hes not there just to tattoo you and go; every time I have been tattooed by Brad, we have wonderful conversations about any and everything and its beyond obvious that he was made to do this.His shop, As Without So Within Tattoo, is utterly fantastic and charming. Brad is amazing! He did a cover up for me, it turned out way better than I imagined it could. Also, very cool and relaxing atmosphere!

I don’t see this shop staying around very long. Customer contact is zilch. Guy says he’s far too busy to work in a job he took on. Told me he did the line work just to shut up the client. Months later, no contact from him. Said he was too busy, had more important work to do. That cost him a dozen referrals. FTS.

Me and my sister went in for matching tattoos yesterday and met with Brad! He was really amazing and took the time to make sure it was just what we wanted and to make sure the placement would be perfect! He did so amazing I actually got two tattoos from him in the same day! We both love them and the colors are bright, we both are just extremely pleased and happy with what we got! And the price was so reasonable I couldn’t believe it!
