United Ink Tattoos and Body Piercings

I’ve been in twice in the last year and had nothing but great experiences both times. The piercing process was clean & both times the piercers made me feel extremely comfortable. Jaydon was an apprentice at the time and his professionalism & attention to detail makes me confident he will thrive in this industry. I have recommended United Ink to everyone who will listen!

Ive had my nose pierced a couple years back and it heald perfectly. I recently called seeking a walk in for a quick tattoo and Nikki hooked me up! I had no idea what i wanted or where, i just knew i needed something! He was kind and patient and came up with something that was better than I ever expected. His work is outstanding. He had great communication skills making the entire process comfortable and smooth as could be. The shop was beautifully renovated since my last visit and it made a world of difference, I felt so welcome. Overall my best experience in this industry by far. Professional, friendly, clean, and fun! Got a stick and poke from Craig and I love it!! The whole experience was great from the time I arrived until I left. I felt seen, respected, and treated well! 10/10!

Man I love the place,very clean,chill place got my septum done a year or so bck.then decided to get a tattoo that means a whole lot to me..freakin Austin is my clover guy from here on out,guys got a chill personality,most definitely be bck to give him a vist to add more. Recommend for anybody to give him and this place a shot want be disappointed! (He did the fresher lookin Clovers need to get him to touch up the one on my hand for sure)

I cant say enough good things about United Ink! Seriously amazing artists and the most caring and welcoming staff. Everyone is professional and friendly. Ive had some great line work and piercings done by Nikki - super fast and great results! Ive also had a cover up and two other pieces by Lacey. Lacey really takes her time to make sure youre 100% happy with the process and the result. Shes created some perfect custom pieces that are truly stunning! Love everyone there!

This place is the best. Everyone there is the coolest and nicest possible. They welcome young talent and help their employees succeed. Not to mention, they do phenominal work. Highly recommend this business to anyone.

Just got my 2nd from Lacey and I couldnt be happier. She did a cover up of an old stupid one and its amazing! She drew it free hand and made some tweaks during the line work to make sure it turned out great.Everyone in the shop is great. We all had a great time and got good feedback on ideas. Ive scheduled my next appointment and will be doing that again when that ones finished

Best tattoo shop! Austin did my first tattoo in December of 2022 ( collar bone) He was so amazing that I had him do my second tattoo this summer 2023 ( thigh) and my daughters first tattoo ( back of neck). Everyone at the shop is fun and easy going. They do amazing quality work in a super clean environment. The work they do is outstanding.

Nikki has been doing a lot of work on me the past few months and its all been amazing. He redid a piece on my left side that came out really good, much better than the original. Still got more work planned and I intend to go to Nikki for all my future tattoos.

Been there 3 times (4 if you include my daughters visit).Niki is awesome. First time I came intold him my idea and he came up with the perfect tattoo. Just recently came for a memorial tattoo for my dad. Told Niki the things (star wars and star treck) my dad was interested in. He asked if my dad had tattoos (which he did, old style ones) and I am loving what he came up with.

Can’t say enough good things about these guys!!! I love sam and Lacey to death! I go to them for all my piercings and tattoos, and I always have the best experience. All of the artists are super talented!

Tbh would not reccomend.. now that my tattoo has healed for a few months Im noticing how uneven and shaky the tattoo is.. Im getting tons of hate for it in real life and on social media because its so crooked lol it is what it is I guess.. you live you learn..This is just my experience with ONE of the employees.. Im sure there are talented ones here!! Just make sure you check the persons art work before going..edit / I cant recall what the artists name was but he was a heavy set guy with a bridge nose piercing.. unfortunately theres nothing you can do to fix it lol theres not enough room in between the moon phases to sharpen the tips of the moons up a bit.. usually a tattoo artist will let you look at the stencil on your skin to see if you like it before they actually tattoo you.. but he didnt.. which is ok? I just wish I could have had the opportunity to ask him to sharpen it up a bit or to make it more center with my chest because unfortunately its kinda off to the side when it was supposed to be centered

Me and my husband both get tattoos by Craig. We are so happy and excited that he has opened up his own show. He is always a pleasure to work with, and we are always super excited about our new tattoos.

These are the nicest people I have ever encountered at a tattoo shop. They take care of their customers from the time you walk in the door. I got a tattoo by Nikki that he customized, and it turned out great. I will definitely be going back here.

My tattoo came out better than I had ever hoped for! Craig took my draft and preferences and ran with it which is exactly what I wanted in an artist. Its been a long hunt for someone i can trust and Ill be going to him from now on.

A little over a year ago, I came in to get a helix piercing. The jewelry they gave me was a very long, surgical stainless steel bar. I was told the length was to allow room for swelling. I went home and took care of the piercing according to their instructions, but it itched horribly for months and months. I finally went in and told them I was concerned I might be allergic to the jewelry, and they assured me that it was highly unlikely that I had an allergy and that the itching was just a normal part of the healing process. So I let the issue go and went home. After another couple of months, I noticed it looked like the jewelry had shifted its position to a more downward angle. I went in again to have them look at it, and I was assured “No, I pierced it at that angle on purpose. Everything is fine.” So I stopped worrying about it and went home again. The very next day, when I was cleaning my piercing, it burst open with a ton of blood and pus. I went back to look at some photos I had taken when I first got the piercing and compared those to my piercing at present, and it was obvious that the jewelry had changed angles. Fed up, I decided to find a piercer who is a member of the Association of Professional Piercers. The closest one to me was two hours away in a different state, but I made the drive anyway. The new piercer informed me that surgical stainless steel can still leech nickel into the body. I AM HIGHLY ALLERGIC TO NICKEL. United Ink never told me that surgical stainless steel could leech nickel into the body. The new piercer also informed me that you are supposed to downsize your jewelry about a month after you get it pierced. If you do not downsize, it can cause the jewelry to shift positions, which was exactly my case. I had the same ridiculously long bar for SEVEN MONTHS and was never told by United Ink that I needed to downsize. The new piercer downsized me to a much shorter titanium bar and the itching that I had put up with for all those months finally stopped that same day. Bottom line, I think the people at United Ink mean well, but they need to be better informed to prevent issues like this from happening. I will never again go to another piercer that isn’t a member of the APP.I am editing my review to say that I did try to email United Ink with more details on my experience but never heard back from them. Unfortunately that email is too long to include here, but I will summarize some things. My piercer’s name was Nikki. I didn’t tell him that I had an allergy to nickel because he told me that the jewelry they use is high quality surgical steel. I didn’t know it could contain trace amounts of nickel. I thought it was allergen free, so I didn’t see any need to tell him about my allergy. I do think it would be wise to have a policy to always inform your clients of any possible allergens with your jewelry because it isn’t always common knowledge to the client. I also want to clarify that when I searched the APP website for a piercer, that was back in August of 2023, and there were no closer locations at that time. If there had been someone closer I would have gone to them. The place I went to was Icon Body Piercing in Murfreesboro, TN. I wrote my review based on what I was told by the people at Icon. I am going to include photos of my piercing with this edit as well.

Absolutely love this shop!! They are the only ones I will let tattoo and/or pierce me. 10/10 recommend.

Kinda upsetting I recommend my sister for a tattoo for our nana dying of lung cancer and Nikki insulted her tattoo idea.. we are already are in a rough place last thing we needed was a jab.

This shop was nice and clean. I’m giving three stars because I’m now having to remove my industrial 5 months later due to the anatomy of my ear. I specifically asked if I had the correct anatomy and was told yes. Now I’ve wasted money and went through this piercing to have to take it out because of the angle it is pierced at. Other than that I had a great experience. I would just recommend going to a APA certified piercer.

My husband and I have gotten all of our tattoos from Craig. He has always listened to what we want and gave us amazing tattoos.

10/10 RecommendAustin and his intern were great! I was a walk in and they quickly worked me in. They rid any awkwardness and made it such a laid back environment. Despite me having already had this piercing before they were still very thorough and professional.Piercing was clean and even.Entire shop appeared clean and well managed.Pricing is fair.I’m 3 days out and they aren’t even sore to the touch.

If you want a tattoo. This is the place to go. Theyre very great people an will treat you like family.

My collective household has had an industrial, a tragus, an eyebrow, a nose, and snake bites done at United Ink. Weve never had anything but a great experience. The piercings are symmetrical, theyve been fantastic about chatting any possible nerves right out of us, and everything has healed beautifully. Great shop, and I would recommend it without hesitation.

I recently took my daughter to United Ink for her first ear lobe piercings. They made sure she was well aware of what she was asking to have done even before we even started the paperwork. They dont just pierce kids ears because the parents want it done, they make sure to have the childs consent as well.The piercer, Austin, was great! He explained everything before he did it so she knew what to expect and he worked with her to get through her nerves. He was incredibly patient and understanding.I also got a nostril piercing by Nikki and he was also fantastic to work with. He was personable, funny and very professional.I would definitely recommend everyone there that Ive dealt with.

Nikki seemed to understand what colour actually works with my skin tone and selected well for what the final in skin colour would be. It has been four days and it is looking great so far. I was not expecting all the oozing the 2nd day, but apparently that is normal. Im hoping it sets in well, guess a few weeks will tell. Only four stars b/c I kept saying I am HOH (hard of hearing) and yet he kept trying to talk to me over music n such, and so I think I missed a lot of the aftercare directions because I couldnt hear him. I only found out the next day texting a friend that this place has a written aftercare brochure...gee thatd been nice! I would have thought it would be standard to hand that out, especially since I said multiple times I couldnt hear him. Anyway, other than that, it was smooth. But if you are HOH maybe ask for a different artist. The place was nicely set up and everyone friendly.Edited: The bat faded almost instantly. This wasnt a ink-taking-to-skin issue, as some areas from the line art were fine, but none of the fill stayed. Also I was told the detail would be fine, even after offering a solution to put in less detail into the swirls for a cleaner look. However, the artist made it thicker than the original design like a wave! which is not what I wanted nor agreed to. Really there is nothing to be done since you sign away everything, but I do wish there was a way to keep the artist on point as well - they should have to make the design as agreed upon. The added flair made it unworkable to keep. I ended up paying for laser removal.I left two stars because he did get the colour right. But definitely do not go to them for good line art, and I really dont like added flair before asking for permanent markings!I think honesty is important. If the artist had been honest that good line work was beyond him, Id have gone with someone else. If the artist had stuck to the agreed drawing thatd been nice. And if it was too detailed for size, the artist should have used the agreed upon edits instead of freelancing thick clunkyness.(photo 1: original design, notice nice thin lines, and the three swirl i offered a simplified form if it was too detailed, was told it was finephoto 2: already fading fill, how thick it is, the swirls completely undefined, the bottom left of the triple swirl was the i made it a wave bit...yup, a filled in wave it was.)

Always nothing but a great time, even when were just stopping in for appointments or questions or jewelery! Nikki never ceases to amaze me when he tattoos me. Lacey and Austin are equally as amazing artists. I cannot say enough about them. 1000/1000 would recommend to anyone looking for new ink or piercings

I’ve been here for several piercings a tattoo. Lacey, Nikki, and Sam have been excellent. I got a labret piercing done by Nikki about a week ago and it’s healing excellently. *The jewelry in the photo wasn’t what I was pierced with.* I would 100% recommend this studio.

I took my very scared 7 year old daughter in because she wanted to get her ears pierced. I don’t know the name of the piercer (maybe Mickey or Nicky?), but he was very understanding with her fear of needles. No pressure, no sneaky tactics. He put it all in her hands. She ultimately decided not to get it done, but his professionalism shouldn’t go unnoticed. Once she changes her mind, we’ll definitely be back here to get it done.

We got our 10 year olds ears re-pierced here and they did a fantastic job. They explained after care very well. My husband is now finished with part 1 of a 2 part revitalization of an old tattoo and Lacey is doing a great job with it.

I went in here yesterday as a birthday present to myself because I was turning 18, the people inside were really nice and chill. The person who did my piercing was Nikki, and he was really nice and was really easy to talk to during piercing my ears, and after a moment of thinking I came back and got my septum piercing as well, but before I got it done, he gave me time to see if I did want to instead of immediately doing it, and he even showed me the piercing because it was bigger than the normal piercing they would you. He was really kind, and I’m thankful to go to United ink for my birthday.

I took my 12 year old niece here to get her ears pierced for the first time and she was nervous to say the least. I myself have may tattoos and piercings and I can say hands down this place was the most professional shop I have ever been to! The guy was so good at calming her nerves and explaining detail by detail exactly what he was doing, when he was doing it, and what she could expect. She was easily able to relate to this gentleman and I appreciate that he had such great people skills to put her at ease...you cant teach things like that to employees, it has to come natural and it definitely shows how genuine he was. Thanks for excellent service. I will be back without a doubt!

The shop owners are fantastic and the people that work there do great work Ive been a client since they have opened. The shop never has let me down. I have received great work from them every time at a great price. U may start to see negative reviews start to pop up all of a sudden but dont believe what u see. The shop has resently had to deal with an ex employees girlfriend that was messaging one of the clients an being very rude. Along with cussing at her. She has instructed people to leave negative reviews. Unfortunately they cant do anything but continue to be a great business that provides u great work. I highly recommend them an will continue to do business. Dont just take my word enjoy the great experience urself. ♥️

Austin was very helpful and informative and helped me out tonight on 10/12/2023 and I enjoyed talking to him over the phone and in person this was the best experience ever for getting my maybe second or first tattoo done

So happy to see Craig open his shop! My husband and I have been going to him for almost 7 years and are always impressed!! United Ink is super clean and has a cool layout! As always Craig does killer work and provides great stress relief! Chad is always super nice (haven’t been tattooed by him but have seen some awesome work he’s done) and I really like the two apprentices Emi and Nikki! Can’t wait for my next appointment!

Before I got a tattoo, I researched and talked to people. I really wanted a colorful tattoo with little to no black. I called and talked the the people at the shop about the artist who works more with color and can do Dainty small tattoos. They referred me to an artist. Reviewed his online portfolio he had some beautiful work. I set an appointment met him there. Showed him what I wanted. He assured me that he could deliver and based on his portfolio I had no reason to question. So went in for the tattoo. It took him less than 20 min and I paid for the hour. When he showed it to me I asked him why the flowers had black outline and where all the color was. He said that my skin was swollen and color would develop when the skin calmed down. Absolutely did not. So I called back after a few days asking about why the outline was still so harsh and why no color has developed. He said I should have mentioned it at the time of the appointment. Then I parroted back the response he gave me at the time of the appointment. He then became very short and hung up on me. I believe he did my tattoo to make a quick buck and did not care about the my tattoo because it was not his style of art. Guess my flowery tattoo did not meet his metal image. I wish he would have just said no to doing it or have been honest.

I love United ink! They have the best atmosphere! They definitely make you feel at home! Started with Craig 8 years ago and absolutely love his work! When you are in the shop everyone makes sure you feel welcomed and relaxed. They are very clean as well! Wouldnt go anywhere else!

I took my very nervous daughter to get her ears pierced. The female artist walked her through everything she was doing. My daughter loved her experience. Especially how caring and reassuring the artist did her procedure. She was nervous and tense about the pain and felt almost nothing. It was over before a tear was shed. Highly recommended and teenager approved!!

I got a piercing done at another place and it had gotten infected. My doctor told me it needed to come out and the place that did it only had a piercer two days a week so I called United Ink. They came to my rescue!! Everyone was super nice and the guy who took it out was as gentle as he could be. So glad I went here!! Next time I get a piercing I will definitely be going here!!

Best place to get tattoos or pierced Zoe the intern there is really really great!!! She makes me feel better and gives me courage when I need it lol and Nikki....man that dude is the freaking issssh!!! He has pierced my nose my lip and will be doing many more and probably doing my tats too!!! Craig is amazing at tattooing especially freestyle!! I mean amazing!!! Craig is awesome! Just got finished with my first tattoo and couldnt be happier. I have contemplated getting one for the last 20 years but was never quite confident in the right person to do it. After seeing the artwork Craig did on my wifes arm, I knew I had found the right person for the job. United Ink is conveniently located nearby to where I live, but honestly it wouldnt have mattered if it wasnt. If you want great artwork, you have to go to a great artist. You will find that at United Ink.

This is the go to place in Athens for tattoos and piercings. Owned and operated by Chad and Craig (formerly both at The Pulse on Hwy 72) theyre two of the best in the area. If youre looking to get a tattoo from either one of them youll probably have to book an appointment at least a month or two out. But if youre looking for something that you want right then and there they also have apprentices who are also very good. This is the only tattoo shop I personally trust and gladly recommend them to anyone.

Craig is awesome! He did a joint tattoo with my wife and I and it came out amazing! I have been going to Craig for years and he never fails to deliver!

The group here are very friendly and great to work with,Chad did very detailed and beautiful work on my pirate ship and coin and the highlights on the chain and compass have really brought a lot of compliments. I absolutely love this shop and the people who work there! Great atmosphere very friendly and the artwork is pretty awesome too! I got a brain tattoo during their last Friday the 13th event to remember my brain surgery last year. Designed by Emi and tattooed by Craig he knew exactly what it meant to me and added the burgundy into it to represent brain aneurysm awareness. Seriously I will always recommend them!

Had to get my corkscrew nose ring removed due to a keloid and I must say I was quite nervous. The tech was very calming in her knowledge and gently removed it with almost no pain at all. I’ll be going back for my new piercing.

All my work has been done @ United. Owners Craig and Krysten are as professional as they come and they take great pride in their business. I highly recommend these guys as they only accept the best artist in their shop.

Wonderful experience. Went here forTo get our 12yo girls ears peirced and they were wonderful. They were very comforting to our daughter and explained the procedures and answered any questions she had.

Wonderful staff! I had to get my nose re-pierce because it wouldn’t stay in and the piercer Nikki was great about re-piercing it and putting a different ring in so it will stay. Also great customer service from employee Travis very friendly & nice!

First time I walked in the shop was September 8th. I wanted my nose pierced but was scared for some reason. Emi quickly greeted me and started my paperwork to get my nose bedazzled. She talked me through the entire process and laughed with me to keep me from getting nervous. It was over in a second. Beautify done and she told me to come right back if I have any problems from the piercing and she’d fix it and help me change it. Nose healed beautifully and I’ve been so quick to refer United Ink for any piercings. Then last week I went in to schedule a tattoo. Chad was quick to greet me, asked me what I wanted, gave me a quote for a price, then scheduled me for his next free spot. I got the tattoo done today (11/09/18). The room was spotless clean. I watched all the equipment be freshly opened and everything be wiped down and cleaned. The tattoo took maybe 10 mins to do. Chad didn’t rush me out the door. He made sure I was happy with the finished product, talked to me about the aftercare, and then just about the meaning behind the tattoo and just life in general. I wish I could go back every single day to get something new done. The staff have always been so friendly and inviting. The shop is clean, actually spotless, and just so much more than a tattoo/piercing shop, they all feel like friends by the time you leave. Now I have a bedazzled nose and my aunt handwriting on my wrist so I can remember her. I couldn’t thank the staff at United Ink enough.

The artists are some of the nicest people I know. They make you feel welcome and like you are a part of the family. They also take the time to get to know you and create something that is suited to your exact liking. I will never go to another shop.

Great people, professional & the shop is super clean except the part where the artists wouldnt stop FARTING every 2 minutes. I could smell what they ate. Thank goodness for a mask these days. Other than that they freakin rock!! Wouldve chosen 6 stars.

Got my first tattoo here today. It was a simple design, but it was recreated perfectly. Chad did a great job and was very nice, professional, and made sure I knew about the experience during and after the tattoo.

I took my step daughter to go get a second lobe piercing, and I got my conch pierced. Nikki did mine, and Emi did my step daughters. Mine took all of two minutes, and Nikki did an excellent job, but my step daughter stalled really bad and was pretty nervous, so it took her a good 30 minutes to relax enough for Emi to do her job. Emi did fantastic in helping keep my step daughter calm, and let her play with the gloves and the tools and explained things to her. Will definitely go back!

Craig has done ammost all of my like 15 tattoos. That being said, I would let ANY artist at this shop put ink on me , and plan to have each one do at least one piece on me, just out of respect for thier artistic and tattooing talent. They have also done multiple piecings on me, so I recommend them for that too. Run, dont walk, to United ink.
