Black Owl Tattoos

I came here to get my first tattoo. Like many people, Ive been thinking about getting a tattoo, but I didnt know what to think. And l like many folks I had heard horror stories. But Black Owl is the perfect place to get a tattoo. Appointments are easy to book made over the phone or through text messages. I was tattooed by Roger, who is a brilliant artist. He took my random idea and made it something that looks awesome. They draw the design when you arrive at the shop, so you have input on the design as it is being created. Many of the artists have experience tattooing dark skin. Which was important to me. Roger has a lot of experience adding color to dark skin. So this is a great place for black and brown folks to get tattooed. The shop is really relaxed. Good music, chill environment. I am a microbiologist, so I have a great understanding of aseptic technique. Roger is highly skilled at keeping everything clean, constantly cleaning as he tattoos, watching were and what he touches.Finally, the question people always ask is, does it hurt. Yes, it hurts. But depending on what you get, where you get it, and your pain tolerance, it may hurt more or less. It is not unbearable, and Roger is good at letting you know what will hurt and when. Cant say enough about Black Owl. This is the place to go. Give them a call, and you will love the experience.

Rob stepped up in a Y amazing piece before I left!!! Third tattoo from this place, Adam did the first two but was unable to do the last one for a situation beyond his control. Love the colors and the collaboration. Super great place and even bette people

I absolutely love the work I’ve gotten from Rob. He is amazing! He is fast, professional and very considerate while you’re getting tattooed. Overall, the shop was also a great experience. Every artist was kind and professional, the shop was clean, and the vibe and atmosphere was so welcoming and positive.

I have some additional work that needed to be added in, and he discussed all aspects of how I would like the finished product to look, and his work exceeded my expectations. I had a tattoo concept in my head that was difficult for me to translate into physical form. Before Rob, another artist told me I couldnt get this design due to my skin color. Rob not only elevated the design but catered to my skin tone. Also, i was nervous about the pain level due to the placement- I didnt feel a thing & he made sure I was comfortable 100% of the time! Roger is the dopest artist i’ve come across. Hands down the best experience i have had. He’s done three thus far and will be the only artist I go to from now on. Booked a tattoo here and flew out from New York to get something from Roger. Thirty minutes before my appointment I get informed that there was an issue with the scheduling system and he was double booked. I got the deposit refunded but now im out hundreds of dollars I spent on the flight and hotel for my stay. So disappointed.

Got my whole neck, traps, and base of the head done by Roger several years ago. I live in West Washington now, and get compliments on it everywhere o go. Ppl who ask are very disappointed when they find out it’s from the Atlanta area. Roger was great to work with, and the rest of the crew is super chill. If I was a wealthier person I’d schedule with Roger every time I’m in the ATL area :)

Roger has to be one of the most talented artists I’ve ever met. He is a master of his craft and always exceeds my expectations. I’m always getting compliments on the tattoos he has done for me and there is no one else in Atlanta that I would trust to tattoo me apart from Roger.

The manager was extremely kind and allowed me to ask alot of questions before going in for the appointment. Roger,my artist, was extremely easy to work with and the work that the did came out beautifully. The atmosphere there was very relaxed and pleasant . Overall a great experience.

The whole process of scheduling the appointment to leaving with a tattoo was made as easy as possible for me. Everyone I interacted with was so kind and Adam worked with me and my ideas very well to give me a great tattoo that I love! I will be back again!

I got my tattoo done by Keech aka Fake Jesus and he did an amazing job. He was very professional and the process was long but it was definitely worth it. Will be back soon to finish. The place is super clean and the artwork on the wall is amazing.

I’ve been getting tattooed at Black Owl for many years. Although Roger Parrilla is my go to person, I’ve let other artists here tattoo me as well. Never disappointed! The artistry is unmatched. I love how knowledgeable they are and SANITARY!!!!! They do not play about cleanliness which is imperative to me!Oh and the compliments I get???? Nonstop!I definitely recommend this shop for your next tattoo!

I love the tattoo i got from Jan at Black Owl Tattoos. Mercedes was super nice when i wanted to change my concept about a week before the appointment and Jan made sure i was genuinely happy with the size and design without being (or seeming👀) irritated. Very nice shop and the staff were all very friendly. 4 stars because the bathroom was so gross i didn’t even think about using it but overall a great experience:)

Whenever we want ink this is where we go! They have a great variety of artist who can fit all your needs stylistically as well as financially. Tim has done portraits of or daughters as well as a full back piece and Roger has done several new school color tattoos for us. We are hoping to get some anime pieces from Adam in the future and black and gray work from Jan. Great vibes, amazing work and reasonably price for something meant to last forever! 10/10 recommend

Went to black owl to see Adam after suggestions from numerous friends. Im glad I listened. I wanted to get a tat of my best friends sketch (he passed away) but had no idea where I wanted it or how big. Adam really listened to what I wanted and helped me find the perfect spot and size. He executed it perfectly. He was extremely professional but also very personable and friendly.The shop itself is a cool lil spot. Clean/tidy, welcoming, chill, plenty of parking.Overall a great experience and I sure as hell will be traveling back to ATL for my next piece.

Came here a year ago for a fairly large leg tattoo that was done by Roger. The energy of the shop/employees was very positive, welcoming, and professional. Though the tattoo was pricey, they were willing to take my budget into consideration. When the piece was finished, I was in awe of how Roger brought the tattoo idea to life. Overall I had an excellent experience and would HIGHLY recommend this shop to anyone.

I got my last tattoo about 2 years ago. Roger does amazing work. I remember my first one was supposed to be small well that went through the door really quick. We went big and til this day I love my tattoos. The environment is cool and laid back. Its time for a new one!

Totally forgot to leave this review years ago but let me share my experience. My first experience was pleasant. Scheduled a time, came in explained what I wanted dude(partial owner from what I was told) drew it out made a stencil and we got to work. I was happy and decided to take my girl for her bday. We scheduled and payed a deposit like before but the day of had a little car trouble. I call hours in advance and explained that the car would be fixed but not before traffic hit so wed be a little late. We were assured over the phone our session was still on but after getting there we were told the artist had a small piece he was finishing so we were asked to wait and pointed towards some local food. We had pizza while waiting the first hour and a half but when we came back the artist still wasnt ready so we went and had a couple frozen drinks. Came back the next time almost 3hours later, still nothing so I asked to reschedule. I was told to call in to do so. Came back to the car to tell my girl the news and she was blown and understandably no longer wanted to get our matching arm pieces with them. We had just spent the best hours of her bday getting jerked around and lied to. Ontop of that, when we called the next day they wouldnt give our deposit back..If I could give em less than 1 star I would. We wont be going back EVER nor referring anyone. Sad too because the first guy I dealt with was cool and did good work..smh

I come here all the time, my artist/homie Seven does all my tattoos. He is definitely great at what he does and we def mesh well. Honestly thats the whole feel of the shop. Everyone is welcoming, inviting, and true at their crafts. But the best thing is that every artist has their own aesthetic and they all work with your budgets but still give you a fire (outstanding) tattoo. I recommend the shop to all my friends and anyone who asks about my tattoos. And this place is amazing and highly recommended if you are a person of color (any shade) who wants bright and vivid colors. A1!

The shop has cool vibes but the woman who did what should have been a simple cross tattoo did a terrible job. Im having it laser removed asap.***Contacting the artist does nothing for me...I live 500 miles away. Im glad I can write an honest review about my experience with your business. Black Owl truly made my birthday the best ever! I have always wanted a tattoo but was afraid. I finally got up the nerve to get it this year but I was still super anxious when it came time to actually do it. Marco calmed my nerves and reassured me that everything would be ok and he honestly gave me the best tattoo I could have imagined! The environment was also clean and calming, and they gave detailed instructions of what to expect after the tattoo, which was helpful for me as a first timer. I have already recommended this place to others!

I was referred to Sheldon7x from a very good friend of mine to do my 50th birthday party which was a tattoo party at my home. It was going to be a small group with only 4-5 people getting tattoos. I discussed in detail what I wanted and we were on the same page (or so I thought). I couldnt get any drawings until I paid the deposit. I felt a little harassed for the deposit and I paid it in two installments wiithin a weeks time. After he received the deposit we spoke about my drawing and he even spoke with a couple of the other people getting tattoos. I thought we were all set.Sheldon was suppose to show up at my house on August 21st after 6. He stated that he had to work from 1-6. We were all cool with that. He assured us that he could get all of the tattoos done. My tattoo was the most extravagant and the others were simple and very basic.The day before the party Sheldon texted that he had a problem and that he had a meeting after work and I felt like he was trying to cancel. We agreed that he could come at 8 instead of 6. I also asked to see my drawing, which I hadnt seen yet. He kept saying that he would have it that evening. When he sent the drawing it was a little underwhelming and he stated that it would have color and it would be great.The next day we were all excited and ready for some tattooing. At 5:06 I get a voicemail from Sheldon asking me to call him. I knew we were headed for some BS at this time. When I called he proceeded to tell me that he is sending my deposit back and cancelling without any explanation. After stating that he is sending the deposit back several times I kept asking why he was cancelling. He then tells me that he didnt feel it in his soul with everything going on in his life right now and he didnt want it to affect the tattoos. 🤔 A load of crap! At this point it is too late to get another artist and my 50th birthday party is ruined. He did immediately refund my deposit but it was just rude how everything went down. It is very unfortunate that this is a representation of this establishment. Although I was referred by someone I totally trust I feel that this person (Sheldon) really had no intention of showing up as he kept mentioning that we could come to the shop.I will get my tattoo and Sheldon missed out on about $600-$800 worth of money and that could have been given to a true artist that would have loved to make this money in a few hours.

I have not been at this tattoo shop yet but I seriously will because Marcos has done work on me at a previous shop and I would not go to anyone else now lol Im so glad I found where he is :pHe is not just good with his art but he makes you feel good about getting a tattoo.

Tims nest studio is beautiful, comfortable and intimate. It felt like the perfect spot to add to your art. Also helps that the tattoos are gorgeous.

I would give them zero stars but could they have a ex work that is acting like they work there or whatever either way they running a scam dont come to this place and theyll tell you she no longer works there but they cant doing anything about her scam there clients out there deposit fee terrible and she also use the business name and address

He wanted to charge $1200 for a tattoo that should take no less than 2 hours. trying to say it would take 2 sittings when i spoke to other artists they disagreed. Hes not an artist. Hes just greedy. Stay away.
