While most places take about weeks or months to get you in, Skin of a different color has gotten me 3 quality tattoos done on the same day I walked in! I came in last week for a cover up and presented them my idea of a shark to cover an old tattoo I was embarrassed of. Craig, who did my cover up presented a much better idea to me than I had (the shark underwater) and absolutely killed it!

I went back in to have my tattoo completed. Craig did a great job! I am one of those people who have a tendency to faint. He was very patient put the fan on for me and continued to ask how I was doing. He was friendly and funny with a conversation that kept my mind busy and off of the actual tattoo process. I couldnt be happier with the results. I will be back soon for my next tattoo. Thanks Craig Murphy

Skin of a Different Color is the only place I will ever get tattoos. Every one of the artists does amazing work. Ive worked with Craig, Brian, Max, and Eric and they have all been super friendly and professional. Its always been very clean and has continued to be during the current health climate. You cant go wrong here!

A friend and I stopped in, on a whim, for a couple of simple tattoos. The owner, Craig, ended up taking care of us and he was beyond great! My friend got exactly what she went in for and loves it! I, on the other hand, was talked into adding to the piece I wanted done. I am extremely pleased with what he came up with. We both love our new ink and will definitely be back!

Dan has been reinking my bad old tattoo work and doing my sleeves for about 11months (i don’t get work done in the summer). Many sessions. He also does my bandmates and wife’s work. This is far from finished and speaks for itself. These guys always treat me great. If you’ve had a bad experience here, it’s almost certainly because you are the problem.

My sister and I went in about two weeks ago Eric came over quickly as he was pretty busy at that moment he was the only one in shop but he was super kind got promised to get us both in that day he shortly called us back to come in we both got amazzing tattoo work he was precise and super cautious following covid guidelines again thank you he was awesome ! Will Deff be back for more work 👍🏽

Just got my first tattoo done and all I can say is WOW!! The artists are so friendly and attentive to your needs! Their customer service is great!! The tattoo turned out amazing!!! The prices are very very reasonable!! Craig did my tattoo and my husband got his by Dan…we were both very satisfied and will definitely be returning! So glad I ended up going to Skin of a Different Color!

I have been here twice now in the last 3 weeks. Mr. Max is awesome. His work is incredible and he so down to earth. The shop is very clean and they go out of their way to make you not only feel welcome but fell like your at home. Graig even did some amazing magic tricks while I waited to get inked. Tats with a show? What else could you want. Thank you Mr. Max i cant wait till I get my next one done..

If you are a young female I urge you to not go here. I commissioned a back piece from the owner and he messed up and the piece is not symmetrical. While getting my tattoo i was not given anything to cover myself leaving me exposed other than my tieable shirt. He said it would be ok but there were cameras in the actual room! I brought my female friend who’s gay and was offered a “5 dollars and a pack of slim Jim’s” to make out with her. He answered a FaceTime call while I was on the table and without my permission showed the people on FaceTime my back and exposed sides. I am absolutely appalled and feel violated with the result of the tattoo I will now have to get fixed somewhere else. But when I mention where I got the piece to other artists that they don’t want to touch it becqause they’ve seen other messed up pieces from the same place.

Craig is an experienced and professional tattoo artist. Hes been doing tattoos for many years. Hes laid back and is nice to talk with. He did a great job on my tattoo that I redid from a long time ago.

I have SEVEN tattoos and they look awesome!! I wouldnt go anywhere else! I am constantly referring people there for the last 20 some years! Their staff is amazing and they have extremely talented artists! The place is always super clean and sanitary!! I took my niece there for her first tattoo and Im taking my daughter whos turning 18 very soon!! I guess I cant completely explain how lit it is in so many words!! But believe me they are phenomenal!!

Mr. Maxx has done all my tattoos from my sleeves to my chest and stomach he is the best to ever grace this profession with his iconic body of work and presidential ability to be consistent in every canvas his art creative style makes him a pioneer in the tattoo industry.

I almost dont want to rate this place because I dont want to share. Ive been here twice in 4 days. Once with my son and then for myself. This was my best tattoo experience. Craig and Max are the nicest guys. My son knew exactly what he wanted. I, on the other hand, had no clue, and both tattoos turned out great. The shop is clean and the energy is also great. Im already planning my next visit!! Will share photos to their FB page.

My husband, sisters, and I just came in last night and we were ecstatic on how our tattoos came out. Mr. Max greeted us right away when we walked in and he was awesome. Craig also made us feel like family and made sure we were having a good experience. Everything from our tattoos, cleanliness, good vibes, and Dad jokes from Mr. Max are the reasons we will be back!

Craig is amazing! I told him 3 things I wanted on my forearm and he took it to another level! I told him have fun with it and he said absolutely. I’ve been to this place twice I was spoken to very rudely didn’t even end up getting tattoo I will go back again. Very rude unprofessional asking me 1 million questions reasons why I want to get a certain tattoo when it’s really none of their business.

Kivaka is finally back! He did a second vch piercing for me that I totally love. Hes very professional and a great guy with an awesome attitude! I go with him for all my piercings. Highly recommend!! If you need special piercings, jewelry, or education on piercings hes your guy!!

Kivaka is back !!! I absolutely love him, he is the only professional to ever pierce my body and he’s done everything basically! I needed to come back for replacement jewelry and he took me right back and helped me out ! I will be back eventually for my rook piercing definitely recommended !

Went to Craig two weeks ago to get a tattoo of my husband’s airplane. He did an awesome job for me two years ago so I had complete trust in him. He captured everything I wanted in the drawing he did for me, but completely botched the actual tattoo that’s on my right wrist and that I’m going to have to look at for the rest of my life. I went from crying since I left to total anger! I still can’t look at it without feeling anger/disgust and there’s nothing that can be done. I had him try to fix his mistakes after he showed it to me, but the damage was already done. The actual tattoo has SO many mistakes (at least six and it’s a small tattoo!!!), it’s almost like a child traced it. I’ve had it for two weeks and and am embarrassed to show anyone, but it’s ON MY WRIST! I’m totally screwed!!! The only positive is that I’m old and will die sooner than later. DO NOT! Repeat - DO NOT get your next tattoo here!! Biggest regret of my life at 61 years of age!!!!

I would love to have been able to actually write a positive review but the unprofessionalism I received yesterday was mind blowing, so here we are. I booked an appointment on Wednesday for Friday evening after work, with Craig. I called to confirm with him as soon as they opened at 12:30 (multiple times actually) with no answer. By 1:45, and my third or fourth attempt to reach them, the receptionist told me that they tried to call me at 12:30 and the number I gave them was disconnected. Obviously we had a miscommunication with Craig writing down my number because when he read it back to me, it was off by a number. Totally fine though, that kind of thing happens (I myself work by appointment in the service industry so I totally get it). So, this guy proceeds to tell me that ME giving them a disconnected number cost me my appointment- they filled my spot. I know my phone number well, my phone is working perfectly and is not disconnected, they literally just wrote it incorrectly. Here is what’s extremely annoying... It was 1:45 when we spoke to confirm my appointment... My appointment wasn’t until 6pm! They literally canceled my appointment without even giving me an opportunity to show up for the time we set. We confirmed this appointment already on Wednesday- two days before. I was super excited and planned out everything I wanted to get, only to be canceled on hours before my appointment time. Instead of calling whoever they filled my appointment with to notify them that they messed up and don’t in fact have space for that day, they canceled me- who was waiting for two days to get in. I won’t even attempt to get tattooed here and will be letting everyone I know how unprofessional this situation was.

LOVE this place! I went with my roommate and husband---all 3 of us left with AMAZING tattoos. Definately way better than all the other tattoos Ive seen other people walking around with. 100/10 we will definately be returning for all of our tattoos from now on. Best atmosphere Ive ever experienced in a tattoo parlor, very positive attitude and great music!The only downside is I had two piercings done recently. Im extremely diligent with cleaning and both of them got infected. Im a little upset about that since Ive had lots of piercings done by other piercers and none od those ever had any issues. Still very happy with my tattoo though 😊

I have been to many different tattoo shops.... I have gone in and looked around, sat and watched and left..................... I have been to Skin of a Different Color many times and each and every time Ive got a tattoo.Craig Murphy the owner is awesome, he has been tattooing for over 40 years, the other artists are as well awesome.Sometimes you might have to wait but come on people its first come first serve..................Once its your turn, they do take their time but do you want them to rush drawing up your tattoo or rushing you in and out???? of course not:So please be patience when you have to wait a bit because they are thinking, drawing, and making it yours!!!! Skin of a Different Color......ROCKS!!!!!

Really wanted to like this place but the staff was very inconsistent with information leading to wasted time. When I first called them, they claimed the artist I wanted only took appointments so I scheduled with him directly and he said he would call me the next day so I could come in. When no call arrived, I called them and the man on the line was so rude and told me that they only take walk-ins which is the opposite of what the previous man and their website had told me. He kept talking over me when I tried to explain to him but he told me that they give priorities to walk ins and then if they have time they take appointments which makes no sense. The whole experience was horrible and I really wanted to come here as I only heard positive things.

Love this place! All my tattoos are from here. Craig is great and does amazing work plus hes light on the needle so rough spots arent nearly as bad.

Wanted to get a tattoo And was assigned Eric and he was not comfortable doing the tattoo I asked for which is fine not mad about it, but , i did waste my time going there and came out with no tattoo , he was very rude about it therefore customer service was horrible and it made me feel horrible being treated so poorly. He could have said thing things differently and approach it differently.

Craig did an awesome job with my tattoo, my dad passed back in July and wanted the last thing he wrote which was his signature. I couldnt be more happy and I highly recommend

I went in there last night and an artist was talking to some girls and he saw me walk in and walked away when he was done with the girls. I never saw him again in the 10 minutes I was waiting for assistance. Another tattoo artist when by me twice not saying anything. I was completely ignored. If someone would have said something like Ill be right with you or anything to acknowledge in anyway then I would have no problem waiting, but no one did acknowledge me. I have heard nothing but good regarding the artists here, but that means nothing to me if they have no customer service. I will not go here again.

My hunny and I got to work with Craig and Dan. Both did a fantastic job.If your looking for a GREAT place to get some high quality work... these are your guys!!!!!!!!We will definitely be back!

Nice they are very social so you can talk to them freely, they did a great job with my back piece it was pretty big but it looked very nice when it healed up!

I am 40 years old and have been going to skin of a different color since I was 16 years old my mom signed off on my first tattoo because I was underage I just went to skin of a different color to get a basic tattoo and the two tattooist in there did nothing but give me excuses as to why they couldnt do it they didnt want to do it I do not recommend going to this tattoo parlor whatsoever the quality of this place has gone downhill immensely I plan on contacting the owner and telling him that his employees have a very bad attitude
