Definitely coming back! Contacted the studio if walk ins were available and got a same day appointment with a quick response! Jessi was my artist and she was amazing! Jessi was honest about taking care of your tattoo. Gave me a lot of suggestions on how to style my tattoo and came out beautiful! Overall the atmosphere was calming. Everyone was friendly! If you’re looking for a comfortable place to get a tattoo/piercing this is the place!

I have had the BEST tattooing experience at Dark Arts. I have gotten 3 tattoos from Michaela and gone in for touch ups in between. Michaela creates the coolest tattoos, has an awesome personality, and gets to know you as a client. Every time I am there the other artists are friendly, the space is extremely clean, and I have a fun time while being tattooed. I highly recommend going there to all of my friends and anyone else. Great experience all around.

Dark arts has an amazing atmosphere! I found this shop 3 months ago on TikTok and have been treated so well! I’ve gotten my Septum, nose, and helix done by Nisa who is the piercer here! She is always quick to answer and fit you in even on late notice, after getting my septum pierced the ball fell off and she replaced it the second I could make it into the shop! She is the sweetest and I will keep coming back!

My mom and I got Fairy tattoos with Civonna and we had the best experience. The whole shop is beautiful and very clean. There are so many cool things to look at. Civonna is incredibly talented, pays close attention to detail, and very informative. Definitely will be coming back :)

I have been to this shop for three separate tattoos and each experience has been exceptional! The artists I have worked with are Paige & Amanda. Both ladies are so nice, checked in with me multiple times during our sessions, and always replied in a timely manner to tattoo questions/inquiries via email. The shop is so clean, spacious, and a great environment. I have gotten compliments and rave reviews on my tattoos and the work quality of them. I could not recommend Dark Arts enough!

Chris was amazing! He designed my first big tattoo to start my sleeve and let me tell you, I was shook! The talent, atmosphere, and service provided before and throughout my tattoo was beyond what I could imagine. I’m currently scheduled for next month for my next tattoo for my sleeve and I can’t wait! My daughter and I wanted to mark her 18th birthday with getting our first tattoos together. We were able to get appointments less than 24 hours from our inquiry. The shop is clean and classy. They had 6 artists on site today when we were there (a Wednesday afternoon) all had at least one client while we were there. Jamie took the time to hear and adjust the art to align with what we both wanted, when I asked for modifications to his rendering, he did not seem irritated or bothered, he was accommodating and willing to make the requested adjustments. This was both of our first tattoos and it was a comfortable experience (better than either of us anticipated). We both LOVE our results! Pricing was reasonable and we had the option to pay with cash or card which is a nice option when many shops are cash only. Both my daughter and I would absolutely go back again to Dark Arts, we would trust anyone there, they were all so nice, we would definitely see Jamie again! Highly recommend, excellent experience, amazing results. A+

I love this tattoo shop! i’ve been tattooed by michaela, paige, and brit and they’re each so sweet and talented! i highly recommend them, although i’m sure all the artists are the same. michaela even bought me CFA during our session and i’ll never forget my tattoo experience with her! :) brit did my thigh piece, paige did my butterfly and shrek tattoo and michaela did my calf tattoo!

I’ve been tattooed by Sam, Paige, and Amanda here and I’ve loved every experience. Sam has done my eyebrows and given me the eyebrows of my dreams, Paige has done some filler on my sleeve started by Amanda and some custom work for me! So cute and the line work is always on point. The energy of the shop is great. Would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic shop and great artist as well as atmosphere. Nisa has done multiple piercings for me and my daughter and her friends! I recently got my daith pierced to relieve migraines. I haven’t had one since. Nisa is professional and well versed on different types of piercings and their benefits. I recommend her for anyone considering getting a piercing.

I’ve been to the shop twice - two sessions for the same tattoo. My tattoo artist was Angela. She is so sweet, patient, and kind. As someone who is pretty introverted Angela is so easy to talk to. All of the other tattoo artists seem nice and well and nobody seems judge mental. Great clean shop. Definitely would recommend

Dark Arts has amazing artists. Ive personally been to Meech and Amanda, and my partner has been to Nix, but everyone there does fantastic work. The shop is clean and organized. There is plenty of room if you bring someone with as well. They also offer snacks and drinks to customers. Walk-ins are available. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for a fun, professional tattoo shop.

I went here about two weeks ago for a tattoo. This place is amazing! It has such a cool and calming environment. My appointment was with Brittany. She was amazing, she made me feel very comfortable and did an amazing tattoo thats healing very well. I would recommend this place to anyone and will be returning in the future. If you are looking to book an appointment here keep in mind the studio has been getting A LOT of attention from various social medias so the artists are going to be booked out a good bit. I had to book out at least three and half months in advance which still isnt a very long wait time for an artists as great as the ones at this shop. Also because of the high attention they have been getting their email fills up very quickly so they do have a two week response time when that happens. I would recommend calling in for walk ins or anything more urgent. I strongly recommend Nix at this shop, not only because hes my friend, but BECAUSE he really takes the time too sit down with you and go over what you want in your tattoo design, he really listens too your ideas and he takes time to get to know his clients dislikes and likes ..It was my first time at the shop and I absolutely felt welcomed. All the shop artist are very cool, and youll feel like your at home when your around them, even when the shop is pretty busy! You wont feel like your not welcome, thats for sure. 😊

Dark arts might be my favorite studio of all time. I’ve worked with Michela twice now and she has been nothing but amazing. Not only is she talented, but she’s super down to earth and kind. She even went as far to offer me some of her lunch when I mentioned I was getting hungry near the end of a longer session. The entire staff is so friendly and welcoming. Nix is so funny and sweet. I love chatting with him and Paige whenever I come in. I can’t wait to go back for more work.Update in 2024:I’ve gone back to dark arts many times since my review. Michaela has done 90% of my tattoos now and I’m so happy with all of them. I love the staff and all the fun events they host. All the artists are super talented and friendly. I have now gotten 7 tattoos done at Dark Arts and I plan to get MANY many more. This shop is not only super clean, but it’s fun and fresh. From the amazing decor (unique to each artists personal style), to the general positive atmosphere, this place is more than just a tattoo shop. Every time I go, MicMacTats and the other amazing artists make me feel at home and comfortable, which is important since I’m usually there for multiple hours at a time. I enjoy myself there and on top of that, I get stunning tattoos! I would highly recommend this shop to anyone looking to get a tattoo! The team is respectful and considerate and each of them are true artists!! I can’t wait to go back and get another one!! 🥰

Ive been coming to DA for a little while now. Ive been tattooed by Paige and Brittany. Every time Ive gone has been a great experience! Brittany did a scarecrow on my calf and she was amazing, professional and super laid back. I usually see Paige when I go. She does amazing work and is super cool and funny. The vibes are amazing in the entire shop, but as someone who has social anxiety especially in tattoo shops Paige makes it really chill and comfortable. Every time I come she is set up and ready to go which I super appreciate. 10/10 recommend! you should def check her out!

I have to say , I had the best experience with Nisa. I was so nervous for my piercing appointment and she made me feel so comforting and talked me through the whole process.. I would definitely go back to her if I decide on wanting more piercings

Me and my husband just left after a wonderful experience. Jamie was our artist. He was very hospitable very talented and worked fast but did not rush he did not miss a beat line work was impeccable color work saturation impeccable he is definitely found himself two new permanent clients for sure. Kept searching for a good shop to go to and found dark arts on Instagram couldnt have been happier with the work we have received.

I’ll start this by saying I’ve only been to 2 other shops before Dark Arts, but after my first visit here I decided they would be the only shop I would visit in the future. Everyone here that I’ve talked to has always been kind and helpful. Whenever I’m in for a tattoo the atmosphere is always so welcoming. I’ve had work done by multiple artists and have never once had an issue with anyone. They always make sure to take care of you and make sure you’re comfortable with everything! I’ve probably had around 30 (if not more) visits here in the last 2-3 years and I have no intentions on going anywhere else! 11/10 would recommend.

My experience has been very unfortunate, I like to support local shops and artists and I came in to try to get a consultation with meech for a sleeve. He asked me to dm him for ideas and when I did I received no response after a week, I then called to see what was up and I was told she was reach out to him to respond. I waited another 2 weeks and I still dont have a response but he’s still posting work on his instagram, I can in no way hand someone the amount of money for a sleeve would cost and they treat me like that. I hope you have a better experience than me.

I thought the place was dope and everyone was super friendly. I’m personally going to see nix but I feel super confident my experience would have been just as good with anyone else in there, thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to go back.

I started getting my tattoos a little over a year ago and am so happy I found this spot. The atmosphere and the artists are amazing; such friendly people with insane talent. They always make me feel like I’m just visiting the homies during every session.I was originally drawn to the shop by Meg’s (@eightleggedmeg) super unique style, conjuring perfectly eerie creations straight from the uncanny valley. Within her style, Meg’s versatility offers a range of options from familiar favorite characters and delightfully bizarre nostalgic pieces to her one-of-a-kind custom creations, twisting ordinary and recognizable concepts to her whim. Meg is a mad scientist experimenting with the creepy, haunting, and enigmatic, and she’d be the paragon of her style if anyone else was doing what she’s doing.While I haven’t had the chance to work with many of the other artists at the studio yet, I’m excited to get started with them in the near future. I live in the middle of Baltimore City surrounded by countless studios but the people, talent, and general vibe of Dark Arts will have me taking the hour trip every time.

My tattoo is awesome. The pricing is insane though, my tattoo was 3.5 hours and was almost $1,000. The shop was cool. My tattoo was a Harry Potter collage and the shop is Harry Potter themed so that was comforting. My biggest issue is they don’t seem to care about their customers after you’re gone based on my experience and others that have left reviews. I’ve never had a big tattoo, and was very unsure about the wrap they give you. My artist said to reach out with any questions… I did and never heard back. Tattoos are life changers literally, I think they need to do way better at responding to EVERYONE in a business that gives you a product that is so important to people and something you do NOT want to mess up. Idc if they’re busy. All companies get busy. You still respect your customers!

I saw Paige for this little strawberry a while ago and its healed and beautiful as ever! She was very polite, sanitary and fast! So pleased with everything that i already have another appointment booked. Definitely recommend this shop!!

I got a pre-drawn piece done by Paige and I would absolutely go back! Paige was easy to communicate with, the shop was clean and comfortable, and the pricing was more than reasonable and very transparent. My tattoo healed beautifully without issues and Paige made sure I understood all aftercare instructions before leaving. Worth the drive for sure!

Sam is absolutely amazing. Not only great tattoos but the permanent makeup is perfection. She completed boosted my confidence when she did my eyebrows. The environment is super clean, she took the time to map everything out perfectly, and asked me if I had any questions. She made sure I was OK with every step of the process before we actually apply the permanent ink to my face. She checked on me throughout the process and made sure I was feeling no discomfort. She’s super fun and polite. I would recommend everyone at dark arts tattoo, but especially Samantha!!!

I got my second lobe pierced here and the person who did it was super friendly! I found this place on tiktok and when I went I was not disappointed. He had me look in the mirror to check the placement before actually piercing my ears. The atmosphere is calm and I love the decorations and their overall style. I had no issues healing besides swelling, which they guided me through what that means and that it’s completely normal. It is quite pricey but if you can afford it I recommend!

I have gotten multiple tattoos at Dark Arts from Amanda and one tattoo from Angela. The artists and staff are always friendly and caring. The Harry Potter theme of the shop is always fun to go see.

I got a tattoo from the owner, Amanda, and I was thrilled with the experience from start to finish! Amanda was great, she made sure that she listened to what I wanted the design to look like and then executed it perfectly! The shop itself was clean and I loved the Harry Potter theme. While I was there, some of the other artists made small talk with me and everyone I ran into was so nice. I will definitely be back to get more art from Amanda and/or one of the other great artists that she has there.

Jake did a great job on my 11 year old ear lobe piercing. Was very impressed with the sanitation and professionalism. Jake is very precise and worth every penny. Needle piercing isn’t cheap but it’s been a way better experience than the gun piercing we had previously.

I came here to get my third lobes pierced and it was one of the best experiences I’ve had getting my ears pierced. The area was very clean and neat and the piercer took you step by step through the process. He also showed the sterilization of the equipment and had a wonderful display case of all the jewelry you can choose from. My piercings themselves also look great and are healing nicely. Overall this experience was phenomenal and I would recommend this place for anyone.

Michaela is an absolute beast. She completed my dream tattoo to perfection. I 100% recommend this store!! They are so clean, so funny, and full of life. Nothing but perfection!!!

I’m not sure where to start with my review. My artist re scheduled my appointment time 4 times for a 4 hr appt . I arrived 15 mins prior to the last set time which was 1pm. My artist did not show up until after 1:30 she said she had to go eat and I sat there for almost another hour waiting! We didn’t start the tattoo until after 3. She decided to take a break that I didn’t ask for and spent 40 mins on the phone in the back so yet again I’m just sitting there by myself She finishes the tattoo after 7pm. I’m charged for the full 4 hrs. Amanda tried to make it right but I received no apology from Michael just a rude email. Part of my tattoo is scarred which is disappointing since I paid so much . I’ve never been treated at a shop like this before and I doubt I’d go back.

I had an awesome experience at Dark Arts Tattoo Studio. Angela did a full wrap half sleeve for me and I am beyond happy with it. She is so talented, kind, and professional.My half sleeve was a sentimental piece, and what Angela came up with was really perfect. she was great about what little changes I wanted and was very accommodating (which is not always the case at other studios Ive been to).The whole studio is clean, well decorated, and everyone was welcoming and professional as well. I would absolutely recommend to others, and will most certainly be back (Ive already messaged Angela about our next project). I drove here from the DC area and its 100% worth the drive.

My tattoo appointment was with Samantha. She did one of her “wanna do” pieces one my shin. Everything was great! Scheduling the appt was simple and professional. Shop was clean and the tattooing itself was clean/sanitary. Samantha was very thorough in making sure the placement was perfect. Best of all, tattoo looks fantastic! All around great tattoo experience.

Honestly the best tattoo shop in Harford County if not Maryland. Every single one of the artists is so talented, professional, and kind. The community of artists that Amanda has created and the growth of the shop is amazing to see. The new shop is much larger, has space for each artist, and is immaculately decorated (with the perfect mix of Harry Potter/tattoo/nerdy decor). I have 3 beautiful tattoos that were done by Angela, who is incredibly talented and a lovely person overall. I would recommend following dark arts on Instagram for shop updates and artist availability. This is the most welcoming shop I’ve ever been too and again, I cannot recommend them enough!

The first artist I went to at Dark Arts Tattoo Studio was Michaela! She made me feel so comfortable during the consultation and she listened to everything that I wanted for my tattoo and after I sent her a few reference pictures she combined different things from all of them to create a completely custom design for me! Not only does my hand tattoo look amazing, she was clean and organized as well!I’ve not only continued seeing Michaela for tattoo work, but also have seen Brittany for a piece and most recently Nix for a piece as well! I highly recommend all 3 artists because they do amazing work! Every artist at Dark Arts is talented and along with the owner Amanda, everyone creates such a positive and comfortable atmosphere!

All I can say is, Dark Arts is where you need to go if you want a tattoo. I worked with Meech, and the experience couldn’t have gone better. He was very nice, incredibly knowledgeable about tattoo art, and was open to flexibility regarding the details of my piece. The tattoo turned out WAY better than any of my others that I have and I am more than obsessed with it. The shop itself was very clean and had awesome decor. The other artists that were there at the time were also very kind and helpful. I will definitely be going back for my next one!

Ive just read an article featuring this studio. Ive personally never been there to get any work done. However, in the near future I will be booking travel arrangements to drive 9hrs up north to get some work done. The article features the owner of this studio and all of the artists work looks fanominal. The work shops(artists areas) appear to be very clean and sterile for a safe and welcoming atmosphere.but their line work, shading and fill-in art colors are very detail and beautiful. With all this said anyone reading this review needs to keep in mind not everyone skin is the same and the tattoo(s) will only be as beautiful as the person receiving it decides to take care of the art work as it is healing. Getting the actual work done is the easy part. How it heals is entirely up you the canvas of the artists.

The artists here are so kind and knowledgeable about their art. I always feel comfortable when getting tattooed here and always recommend this place whether it’s your first or fiftieth tattoo. With the wide array of expertise, you’ll be able to find someone who can give you a piece you’ll love!

I saw Paige Monday for two of her flash pieces and it was literally the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had. The shop was very clean, professional and welcoming. It’s Harry Potter themed which is a plus for me. When I arrived Paige was already set up and had the stencils ready to go. I have a lot of tattoos and this was the most painless tattoo I’ve ever received and it was in a spicy spot next to my knee. It’s now Friday and my tattoo is almost completely healed, I never had any bad swelling or inflammation and it didn’t scab over either. I will definitely be back to her soon! Everyone else in the shop was also very nice and friendly too.Update: My second visit wasn’t so great… I made appointments for me and my aunt 2 months prior to get gumball tattoos for a Mother’s Day gift. We show up at 10:30am and we’re told that someone else was booked over our appointment and she couldn’t take us until 5:00 now, I declined because the shop is a 45 min drive from where I live. She emailed me apologizing and I said no worries mistakes happen and stated my aunt doesn’t want to come back now and my schedule is hectic because of my job so I wasn’t sure when I could come back in either (I took off work for this appointment). I never heard anything back after that and then saw she unfollowed me on all social media… this was very immature and childish. I was understanding up until that point but this isn’t how you “remedy” a situation you created.

Definitely the best tattoo shop Ive been to! All the artists are friendly, talented, and caring. Theyre willing to work with you and make you feel welcome and comfortable, which is extremely important when youre getting stabbed with needles over and over. The decorations are also really nice!

Michaela was very supportive and accommodating throughout my appointment with her. She had creative ideas for the design process and made sure that I was happy with the end piece. The talent she has is like nothing Ive seen before, (micmactats on instagram)! This was my first tattoo and I couldnt imagine going to anyone else.

I had an amazing time here! My artist for this piece was Angela and she was an absolute sweetheart! I had a lose concept of what I wanted when I came to her and she worked out a sketch and made my dreams come to life!!!! She was super gentle and accommodating for me while I was getting tattooed, and made sure to give me breaks if I needed it. The whole process took four hours give or take, which is a lot faster then I expected. So we got it done in one go! The atmosphere was so welcoming and fun, even other artist and clients that were there talked to me and got in on the conversation! She also gave me a paper of care instructions and explained how to take care of the covering afterwards. They were extremely clean, and fantastic hygiene procedures. I couldn’t recommend them enough! Definitely worth a five star review! 😊

I came in for ear piercings and it was a great experience. Jake walks through the process step by step which I love since I cant see whats happening. He was very patient and informative. He showed me the sterilization process, taught me how to change my jewelry, and took care in placement of the piercings. When I was young I made the mistake of having my ears pierced at the mall a couple of times, each time never healing properly, getting infections, etc. I didnt think I could have piercings because of sensitive skin but so far things are looking good! Cant wait to go back for a few more. (:

I followed Angela to Dark Arts Tattoo Studio from another location, yes she is that good. I love the studio she is in. It is clean and a great atmosphere. Angela is fantastic and I love every piece she has done for me, today we knocked out three in one sitting, and she has completed 3 others for me. Looking forward to my next session!

I absolutely love this shop. I trust all of the artists. Their talent is beyond amazing; they have a great variety of beautiful art forms and bend backwards to make you comfortable. Expect kind, thoughtful & creative individuals every time. I always walk out of my appointments thinking of when I’ll be back and that means A LOT from me who rarely frequents an establishment. I want to start with saying i’m not a big reviewer — if i don’t like a place i just won’t go there anymore, but i feel that this is worth sharing.my experience at this tattoo shop, frankly, was really negative.i was so excited for my appointment is Christian Magnaterra, however, the whole process sucked. i get it, he’s a young artist and tattooing isn’t easy at all, butto make a long story semi short — the lines are not clean, there are several blowouts, the shading is just bad and doesn’t really make any sense artistically. he’s VERY heavy handed and was very passive aggressive when i let him know i needed to be done (i am a fairly tatted person and i generally sit very well). didn’t appreciate that. it healed really poorly, despite me taking very good care of it. all and all just a bad initial experience. i wrote a review hoping i would save someone from a similar experience and got a response from the owner, Amanda Graves.initially she was very nice ! we emailed back and fourth and she offered to fix it for me. i sent her some pictures and got the ball rolling.before we had a date set in stone, but after i had been reached out to i took the review down. i thought she’s being a proactive business owner so it’s only fair.as soon as i took it down she just stopped responding. i of course understand how incredibly busy she is and the shop is; BUT for something that’s on my body forever and also something i paid 600+ dollars for i’m pretty emo about it. i did not feel like she wasn’t making an attempt to make things right.some of the artists here are great, but as a whole i think this business is not great. a big following is not always an indicator of good work or a good business.

Ive gotten tattooed by 2 of the artists there. Michaela and Nix. Both did absolutely outstanding work and both have now contributed to being one of my favorite pieces I have on me. Michaela has some of the cleanest line work Ive seen and is a boss at color coordination. Nix FREE HANDED a pin up girl on me and she is absolutely beautiful the shading and the contrast really brought this piece to the next level.

I’ve had the pleasure of getting tattooed at the old shop and new shop. My tattoos have been from Christian and they are by far my favorite tattoos I have.Solid work, I can’t speak for the other person on her but very light to medium handed and over all a great experience.Hope to get more done in the future 5 stars from me!

I was there on December 4th and my artist was Paige and I have to say I absolutely love it there. I will definitely be coming back to get more. The atmosphere, the professionalism, everything about the place was everything I could’ve asked for and more. I wish I could think of more amazing things to say about the store or I would. My first visit they greeted me enthusiastically and I felt right at home. I had a chance to chat with the artists and see even more of their incredible work that day - made a second appt shortly thereafter! First time there and i have to say it was amazing! Brittany did my tattoo and she is amazing! the whole appointment we talked about any and everything and she made me feel so much less awkward! i will definitely keep going back to Dark Arts! i recommend everyone else to do so too!

I had an absolutely wonderful experience with Kyra. We organized and communicated on my design until I felt comfortable with the process and then she executed my vision precisely. She is kind, easy to communicate with, and without attitude, unlike a few other tattoo artists I had consulted with who wanted more of their own inspiration infused into my design. I started with two full arm bands, but Im eventually going to finish the arm with a sleeve of my own making, and I appreciate an artist such as her who takes the time to listen to her client and performs the artwork beautifully.

Havent been but I have looked at the portfolios and I would love to get a piece done here!

This studio is absolutely amazing! All of the artists there are so talented. I have gotten both my arm and my ribs done by Amanda and the whole experience was awesome. She consistently checked on me to make sure I was doing okay, and made me feel so comfortable. I plan on going back again in June, and I am so beyond excited!

Left my tattoo unfinished. When I was told she had the whole day to complete my tattoo. Took my partners deposit and never reached back out after having to cancel because of the artist and a Covid situation. They have been back at work for months now and have just been seeing wanna do gets top priority. And they are fully booked. Will not be returning- ever. 2 hour drive to be told we had ample of time to having an hour and half- if u didn’t want to do the tattoo you didn’t have too. Period.

Beautiful tattoo but would never come here again. At the point of my tattoo I was using a wheelchair due to recently breaking my heel, it seemed to be a problem for everyone that I interacted with there and a lot of rude ableist language was used around me. The actual artist took over an hour to even greet me, once the tattoo got started I was shamed for wanting a break several hours into the tattoo by the receptionist and once the break started it took the artist almost an hour to come back, which results in more pain, because she was busy having a conversation about cheerleading. I have 30+ tattoos, from several artists, and this is the worst experience I’ve ever had. I would when loved to keep going to this shop and getting tattooed, I had even spoken about plans for future work which would have been thousands of dollars but I felt so unwelcome that I’ll never go back and I’ve spread the word about how ableist and rude this shop is.

Amanda has really outdone herself when it comes to encapsulating the atmosphere of positivity and fantasy inside the shop itself. Her work is exquisite and her staff couldn’t have been more nice. Pleasant greetings, barely any wait time, all in all you can tell that Amanda and her staff are passionate about expressing their artwork and as well as making sure all things are clean and sanitized. I would highly recommend this shop for anyone who is interested in booking tattoo artists.Plus, let’s be real here....Amanda’s husband Corey is a complete “dimey dime”. I would sniff that dudes underwear for 0.00 pay.Love,Tyler.

The entirety of this studio as a whole is great! From everyone’s manners when you walk in the front door up until the time you leave. My experience was great. The owner, Amanda is confident and outgoing and it reflects in her studio. It genuinely feels like home, i can professionally unwind here, with no judgement. We talk about any and everything and there is never a dull moment with any artist. While Amanda is the boss they all work as one team. My artist Michaela is so thorough in her work. I love her personality, she’s likable, knowledgeable, and easy to get along with, and it reflects in her work ethic and attitude. I will be going back! I loved it here Dark Arts, great customer service. last thing YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR! The ladies are more than reasonable and while you do pay for skill and quality, they will still work with your budget if you have one. 10/10.

I went to Dark Arts to get two conch piercings done by Jake. He was so amazing to work with and made the process so easy! He keeps a very clean and professional area and he’s so friendly! I will absolutely be back when I’m ready for more work.

Phenomenal owner and artist!! Definitely returning! Edited.... Two years later and she still hasnt completed my tattoo. Sent so many requests and emails and messages and get ignored. Shes clearly a great business woman and tattoo artist, but clearly in it to make herself happy first, clients second. Really disappointed and upset by her.

I feel like I won the lotto! I got in on a Flash event and with the Owner, Amanda. The shop was BUSY! Even though there was a crowd, I was greeted promptly and everyone was extremely friendly. It was an amazingly positive experience and I couldn’t help but notice how sweet the staff was to one another. If they were not actively working - everyone asked everyone else if they were ok and needed anything. This is such a great thing to see especially in a place as busy as it is. Everyone seemed to be available to help if needed. I would absolutely recommend and will be back ( I know they are insanely booked) when books open or I can get in! Definitely worth the wait.

Jake did a nose piercing for me, and I’m so happy with it! He is very nice and made me feel at ease. He is also the most clean and careful piercer I have ever interacted with!

Dark arts is the only tattoo studio i will go to, every artist is amazingly talented and super sweet, almost every single one of them has tattooed me at least once! Michaela and Amanda have done a majority of my work and I get compliments on them everywhere I go asking me who did them! Dark arts is the best studio in Maryland that you could go to!!

I called on a whim to see if the had any availability for a walk-in gum ball tattoo, and I lucked out. The person who answered the phone was very polite and pleasant, both times I called, because they asked me to call back in 30mins to better gauge if there would be anyone available. So when I called the 2nd time they were able to squeeze me in within an hour. The artist I ended up with was Jaime. He was polite, his area was clean, and just had a vibe about him that made me feel comfortable. I really appreciated that he wasn’t a chatty person. We spoke a little while he was setting up, but when he was working, I appreciated that he allowed me to just zen out during the process. It was by far the most relaxing tattoo experience I’ve had.

First time at the studio & I was very impressed! Shop is very clean! The entire staff was so friendly & my artist Amanda made me very comfortable. I can’t say enough about how much I love my tattoo! I highly recommend & I will definitely return! 5⭐️

I first became aware of Dark Arts through a friend, Hed gotten a few pieces from Nix and recommended him to me. I was still reeling after getting a very bad addition to a chest piece and I was pretty desperate to get it altered or covered up entirely as I hated the way the previous artists work turned out on me. I was a little hesitant as male dominated spaces tend to be less friendly to POC Trans women, but Dark Arts was different. From the moment I walked in-- incredibly nervous and very shy-- I felt relieved to see so many other women there. There was no biting stares, no whispers or veiled laughs at my expense (Im 6 foot 7 I get a lot of unsavory experiences in public), just professionalism and the occasional peek over at what Nix and I were working on together. My first visit was a consultation so there wasnt much to be said, but when I came in to get my work done, it was truly such a wonderful experience. Ive never felt so safe, comfortable, and taken care of in a Tattoo studio. Every time Ive gone in Ive had a fun conversation with the artists or even the other customers. The atmosphere is so relaxed and everyone just has immaculate vibes. The music is also super top tier, I appreciate them letting me relive my bygone era of emo bangs and really bad eyeliner, but in a fun nostalgic way surrounded by people who wont judge me for poorly singing along.I have begun sincerely recommending them to all of my friends looking to get work done and I will continue to do so and go to Dark Arts until I leave the area. If I could give them a hundred stars I would. I will totally post pictures when my chest piece is finally completed! We are about halfway done fixing it and I dont think it would do them justice to show an incomplete piece, but let me say, it is already leaps and bounds better than what it used to be.Special shoutout to Nix, he is the primo numero uno homie.

There’s no sense of organization and artist treat it like every man for themselves. Literally paid deposits with 2 different artists. One I had to cancel, I called in January to cancel and they never canceled it and charged me a 100 no show fee today months later. 2nd artist asked for a 100 dollar deposit then ghosted when I tried to make an appointment. It’s disorganized and they definitely need structure. Hopefully I can make a real review when I can actually get in there versus constantly getting my money stolen.

The shop seems cool and all, but im very upset with my experience with the (or lack thereof). they say to book, fill out the form on the website or email the shop or artist. i emailed brittany to ask what her availability would be during the time i was in town (im from texas). i did not get a response even though she knew i emailed her (i commented on an instagram post theyd just posted to highlight her emailed her! and she liked my comment). about a week later, i emailed her again to confirm she received the first one. nothing. i filled out the booking form on the website. nothing. 2 days later i decide to email the shop. nothing. if youre going to list email as your primary form of communication, dont leave your clients hanging. such a shame.
