IRIS Piercing Studio

This was our third time getting piercings for my kids. The team at IRIS do an excellent job in helping the kids understand aftercare. The actual pricing seems to be practically painless. I recommend them for kids piercings for sure! Very clean very nice and the staff is fantastic and pleasant to work with.

I took my 13 year old daughter in to get a second piercing in her ear lobes and a cartilage piercing. We had Jennie as our piercer and she was absolutely amazing! Shes very knowledgeable, she was very nice and easy to talk to. Im in a power wheelchair so it was a little tight for me and I couldnt get in the room with my daughter but Jennie made sure I was still able to see what was going on and listen to what she was telling my daughter as far as after care goes. Jennie even talked with me about my younger daughters ear piercings and answered all my questions and my younger daughter wasnt even with me. My 13 y/o and I are VERY happy with the service we got. My daughter got woozy after getting her ears done and Jennie was great with her. I will absolutely take my younger daughter in for her ears. And I will definitely recommend Iris to anyone I can!Laurel and Victoria were very nice and helpful as well (I owe one of them some french fries 😉). The whole experience was great!

I went in last weekend for a jewelry change and I’m sooo relieved and happy. Basically, I got my cartilage pierced almost three years ago now at some random tattoo and piercing shop in Denver (won’t name it here but I will never go back there…) and when I went into Iris, I told them I needed a change. It’s been in for three years because I had so many issues with healing. I have a lot of scar tissue from it. I forgot his name already but the guy who helped me was awesome along with the girl who checked me in and greeted me. He told me the jewelry they had put in was terrible and post was way too long hence all the issues I was having. He put in a hoop for me and it’s never felt better. It’s only been a week but I seriously don’t even feel it and the bumps around it are already going away. :) So disappointed in that original shop I went to and I’m so happy I went into Iris for the jewelry swap. Thank you so much!!! Seriously!

Went in with my mom to get pierced and everyone was so kind and accommodating! Both Laurel and Harrison were super kind and patient and answered all of our questions. They walked us through choosing jewelry and Harrison did a fantastic job with all three of our piercings, even installing some additional jewelry for a closed cartilage piecing of mine. I will definitely be back next time I want another piercing!

Super nice and informed staff! I have gotten both my rook and tragus piercings here, and both times they have been incredibly sweet, and professional. Place is very clean with lots of jewelry options. If there is any place to go for a piercing in Boulder, this would be it!

Amazing service! Super polite and Harrison was so nice and super professional, really loved that I was walked through the whole procedure and what to expect while I was getting my ears pierced. I love this place for piercings, they do a great job and have high quality jewelry! however when i went in and asked if i should get my belly button piercing ring downsized the piercer told me yes. two months later and it got too irritated, had to take it out and i had to get rid of my piercing. it was doing just fine until i downsized and i payed over 100 dollars for the jewelry. very upset but what can you do except write a semi bad review:(

Highly recommend Iris for your piercing needs if you’re in Boulder! I’ve been here four times and every visit has been a fantastic and comfortable experience. Jennie did some ear piercings for me and my friend at my last visit and did a fantastic job/was great to talk to. Laurel (gallery assistant) was also very friendly/welcoming and happy to answer our questions/help us with jewelry. The piercers are friendly, talk you through the whole process and make an effort to make you feel as comfortable as possible and get to know your piercing goals for best placement. Doesn’t feel rushed, sanitary, professional and a great time. Go to Iris!! :)

Jennie was great! Knowledgeable, kind, and quick. Shop is very clean and has a lot of jewelry options. I typically go to tattoo shops for my piercings, but this shop was an absolute gem. I have had my nose pierced three times and haven’t had jewelry in for maybe 6 months and Jennie was able to stretch the piercing, as it was still open, instead of fully re-piercing it, making it a cheaper appointment. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone in Boulder.

Ive gotten all of my piercings as a grown up here! The staff is always super friendly, accommodating, respectful, and professional. I always feel comfortable, and the shop and jewelry are kept very clean. I have a personal mission to get all rose gold pieces, and their jewelry selection is high quality and soo pretty to look at!

Had my vertical labret pierced at the Boulder location, by Harrison. He does good work, and made sure my piercing was at the right angle. The staff is very friendly and the jewelry selection is amazing as well! Highly recommend them if you live in the area or are traveling!

Wonderful experience with me, my partner, and my friends daughter. I had my septum pierced and our piercer, Jennie, was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable and had a soothing and caring presence!The staff in the front were also super helpful and kind which makes the difference when an 11 year old is getting her first piercings. Jenny has pierced my double and triple lobes, and my husbands nose, and is such a gem every time! She makes sure were calm and comfortable, that everything is lined up, and the piercing is done quickly. The shop itself is clean with a wide selection of jewelry at varying price points. Well come back every time we want a new piercing!

Ah! Such a great experience. My ears have been pierced improperly all my life (by professionals and myself) so I decided to finally get the final ear piercings that will hopefully last forever. Jennie was so great, kind, funny, and professional. She made sure I knew exactly what was going on and explained why she was doing certain things and I really appreciated her honesty. My piercings were easy peasy, aftercare was thoroughly gone over, and I love my new look!!

Took my daughter in to get her nose pierced. Everyone was so friendly and kind. The piercer explained the process thoroughly and it went great. Prices were also reasonable compared to some other places we looked at.

10/10. It was the least painful piercing I’ve ever gotten - it looks like I’ve had it for weeks and it’s just been a day! Laurel and Danny were incredibly supportive and accommodating throughout the entire process. They have a beautiful selection of piercing jewelry with high-end options you don’t typically see at a piercing studio (gold, white gold, diamonds, etc.) which is also huge plus. Wouldn’t go anywhere else!

My 10-year-old daughter got her ear re-pierced after it had closed up, and I got a new lobe piercing at the same time. Jennie walked us through every step and even offered to play my daughters favorite music as she had her piercing done. The jewelry is very high quality, the piercers are professional, and the experience was great. Things were a bit rushed since Jennie was the only staff member in that day, but we left happy and love our new piercings. Highly recommend!

My partner and I have been into Iris multiple times and it has always been a wonderful experience. Super clean, professional, and friendly environment. I went in to get a few lobe piercings today and was so happy to see that Laurel and John were working. They (along with all the staff at Iris) are amazing. John is great at explaining every step of the piercing process and made me feel super comfortable. Laurel made picking out my jewelry a breeze and made some great suggestions that I wouldn’t have thought of myself. Iris will definitely continue to be my go-to for all my future piercings.

Victoria, Laurel, and Jennie were very helpful and kind while setting up the appointment and picking the jewelry, and Jennie was great at clearly explaining the piercing process as they did the piercings. Since I got a little shocky, I was given a glucose tablet and some water to help me recover, which was awesome and very helpful. Great shop, I would highly recommend!

Danny is an exceptional piercer. Had a marvelous appointment with him last week to reinsert my several cartilage earrings after I had to have them out for an emergency MRI about several months ago. Saw him again today for my first nose piercing! I couldn’t be happier with the placement and overall experience. Danny knows his craft and has a wonderful bedside manner. Kept me completely at ease both appointments and gave me extra TLC today due to my dizziness as related to a separate medical condition. Lots of care and concern from both Danny and Laurel. I love Iris Studios. Been coming here one five years. Have had multiple piercings done. I wouldn’t trust anywhere else.

Theeee best experience ever! I stopped by as a walk-in simply to get some information about the process and rates. Jennie was so attentive. She answered all of my questions and then some. Just got my second piercing here, and everything went just as well as the first time! the person who greeted us (Laurel) was very welcoming (and also had amazing style, but that’s besides the point lol) and helpful as me and my brother picked out jewelry, and even gave us price estimates before we went to the piercer. Our piercer (Jennie) was also very sweet and extremely professional. She talked us through the whole process, showed us proof of autoclave sanitation, told us what to expect and how to go about the healing process, and checked in to make sure we were comfortable for every part of the experience. It’s very clear that everyone here is well educated and passionate about both the art of piercing and helping clients to the best of their ability. Every piece of jewelry they have is high quality as well, and they even offered to order in a specific piece I asked about that they didn’t have. I personally don’t plan on going anywhere else for body or face piercings while I’m living in Colorado. As someone who works in the field of body art, I also am extremely happy and comforted to see that they are very responsible about sanitation practices! Thanks again! I will definitely be back :)

I have gotten many piercings from many different places over the years but going forward, I intend to go solely to IRIS. It is so clean and organized, the jewelry is so beautiful and good quality, and it’s relaxing and peaceful inside. I appreciate that it doesn’t smell like smoke and doesn’t have loud music playing (if that’s your vibe, that’s cool and I’ve been there but at this stage in my life I like the calm).In all my encounters, the people working have been professional and attentive, I never feel like I’m asking dumb questions and they always listen to me and clearly explain everything. They provide follow up and are available via text for any questions during the healing process. I honestly can’t think of anything unpleasant about IRIS at all, and can honestly recommend them to you wholeheartedly.

Great service. Safety and hygiene is top priority. Had my piercing done 6 months ago and came in to switch to a ring. They always look at healing and ensure your piercing is ready for the change and fully healed, and never rush the process. They advise whats best for the health of the piercing over making a sale.

I’ve gotten my nostril pierced here over six years ago as well as my verticals labret about a year ago and my nipples, tragus and conch pierced within the last few months and every time I had a great experience. I do not enjoy getting pierced and tend to have a low pain tolerance but have had a lovely time here every time. Additionally, all my piercings have healed without issue.

Went here a week ago to get my tragus pierced. I’ve had MANY piercings but none of the experiences have been as good as this one was! The guy that pierced me made me feel so comfortable and was also very kind. He was very informative, patient and fast with the piercing and it was the best experience I’ve had in a piercing studio. They are incompetent and inexperienced. Better options exist at a commensurate price. This is a comment based on several years dealing with Iris across multiple locations. Mediocrity hides behind glass; trust me, there are many places that are less money-hungry that do better work

I wish I could give more than 5 stars!! I have had 11 piercings previously at other shops and just recently had 4 done at Iris and wish I couldve had all my previous ones done here too! Mya at the front desk was awesome and super helpful. She patiently helped me choose the 4 pieces of jewelry I got which took me like 30 min to decide on because Im bad at making decisions. She also was very upfront and clear about all the prices of everything. Barron was the piercer and made suggestions to the spot on my ear which was perfect and Im so glad I went with his suggestions. They were both super friendly, professional, and very helpful but not pushy. Also the jewelry selection here is great from low cost basics to beautiful gold pieces. I cant wait for my ear to heal so I can come back for the other one!

Jennie is freaking awesome! She pierced my septum at 12 gauge and made it way less scary than I anticipated, and it looks great. Told her I wanted it to be pretty snug around my nose, and she nailed it. Would totally go here again. Worth the 2 hour drive for me!

I got my septum pierced and jewelry changed here and had an amazing experience getting with both pierced and healing! I’ve had so many janky piercing experiences, it was refreshing to come here! The staff is super gentle and friendly, and gives so much valuable advice and many great jewelry suggestions. Be prepared, the piercings and jewelry are expensive, but you can walk away knowing you got top tier quality and experience. I plan to get many more piercings here!

I got my Ashley pierced here last year. The man who pierced it put in too small of a stud so it agitated my lip. I ended up going back because the piercing fell out and this woman who was supposed to put my piercing back in had no idea what an Ashley piercing was. I tried explaining it to her and she ended up piercing my lip VERTICAL LABRET style and not the Ashley like I originally had. So she made ANOTHER HOLE in my face. This all happened with in 4 days. She ended up figuring out that the piercing was supposed to go through my lip into my mouth and put a longer piece of jewelry in but I was very upset about the fact that she gave me the wrong piercing and I had went through so much pain again. They also did not put a flat back on my piercing. There were balls on both ends. The piercing ended up falling out again and I left it out. This was the absolute WORST experience and I will never go back to this establishment.

I came to Colorado for a softball tournament and decided that I wanted to get my cartilage pierced, so I looked up the reviews and we stopped by around 2. It was such a fancy and clean environment and I was helped right away. The guy who did my piercing walked me through everything and helped me get through my anxieties. ID is required and some of the jewelry is expensive but that is because its real gold. I got a simple starter jewelry piece and I love it! Would come again if I lived in the area. Took maybe 40 minutes at most to get it done

Overall fantastic experience! Jennie is super rad and knowledgeable. She provided extensive, detailed information throughout the process, and made me feel comfortable and safe. Gunner was also wonderfully welcoming and helpful with selecting the perfect jewelry. 11/10

I asked them a couple of questions and they immediately knew how to answer and what they were talking about. They will also send you text messages after your appointment/couple weeks later to check up on you. i will definitely be coming back here if i want more piercings (not to mention their jewelry is adorable!).

I went in for my VCH peircing and John was super awesome to work with. Very welcoming and communicative during the process. I felt very comfortable and safe for such a vulnerable piercing. Vibes all around in the shop are 10/10. Would highly recommend and come back for any future piercing desires. Keep up crushin it!

We had a very weird experience at Iris about 6 months ago.My friend and I went in to get an ear/septum piercing, and it was pretty cold and hostile. The male piercer shoved his fingers up my nose and then told me I wasn’t a candidate for a septum (does not impact this review!). He then just stared at me and offered to pierce something else if I wanted. Just bad interpersonal skills, and when I thought about jewelry they just stood around me in silence. We both left without getting anything and feeling very uncomfortable about the whole vibe/thing.For reference, we are going for more piercings this week. When we discussed where to go, we both agreed Iris felt unfriendly and bizarre. You can’t even select a female piercer which is too bad. I just wanted to leave this review to inform others’ decisions about their piercing experience. Please note: I cannot speak to the quality of the actual piercing, because I did not get one!

This is a very nice piercing studio. It is quite small but extremely clean and bright. Michael from Utah performed my septum piercing and he did an excellent job. He was friendly and professional and my new septum piercing is way better than the old one I had for 28 years. I highly recommend this place and would return. Beautiful jewelry too!

Im from Oklahoma and the last 2 piercings I got weredone at Iris during 2 separate trips to Boulder. First was my daith and I had 0 problems. Extremely clean and impressive shop. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Last week I got my conch done and again, no problems. Nearly painless and the artists made my experience so comfortable, especially for an anxious gal like myself. They follow up with great customer service. 10/10 would recommend.

They always do a great job with my piercings and the staff are very nice. Just remember to do your part (bring required documents, etc.) and they will flawlessly do theirs. I love that they also have walk-ins now for small things like jewelry changes.

From Cincinnati, but anytime I visit I always stop by to either buy new jewelry or get a piercing. Last August I came in to have a double nostril piercing. Jennie was amazing with walking me through the process as well as picking out the correct jewelry. I’ll be in town visiting soon so I’ll definitely be stopping by for a jewelry change.Aside from the amazing staff, the shop is beautiful and sleek. Doesn’t look like your typical piercing place and I love that!I had my original nostril piercing done by James (sad he’s not longer there) at the Chicago location so I think you have a customer for life.

I got a piercing last week at IRIS Denver, which was a great experience. I popped into IRIS Boulder 1 week later after the front half of my earring fell out, to purchase another earring. They were rude and inefficient. I bought a new earring, in addition to the expense of last week (piercing, placement, earring, back post), as anticipated. They refused to let me place it in my ear in front of a store mirror unless I paid a service charge. They seemed unable to manage the limited number of customers, and maintain appropriate customer relations.

I purchased a nose stud here as mine broke while traveling. When I purchased the staff assured me they would get the right fit of the post for my small nose to ensure the stud was flush. If I paid a service fee to have it put in the fit was guaranteed, so if it was wrong I could return and have this fixed. The post the piercer chose was too long and the nose stud was not flush with my nose (which they guaranteed). I returned to get a shorter post to be told this is not their policy and I would need to pay both a fitting service fee and new post fee. They did offer to waive the service fee as I was given incorrect info, however were still going to charge for a new post. With conversion rate I had already spent over $100 for an ill fitting stud so I decided to just have it removed.I did not choose the post length and to be charged for a new one felt like I was being penalized for the staff choosing the wrong fit initially. Make sure you get the post length checked before you purchase here.

The whole team at Iris was wonderful! Jennie was my piercer and she did everything perfectly. Everything was clean and sterilized and she took the time to make sure each of the piercing spots were marked perfectly before piercing! The piercing was quick and (almost) painless, she told me every move she was going to make and when the piercing was going to happen, as well as helped me with breathing during the piercing :). Will definitely go back again and highly recommend!!

My experience with Iris was nothing but positive. The process of booking an appointment was super easy. Amanda was very helpful, especially when it came to picking out jewelry. She helped me find the perfect piece for me and I will be excited to go back to pick out more jewelry. John was my piercer and he made me feel extremely comfortable. Had a fantastic experience here and so did my twin sister! I got two conch piercings and one cartilage piercing. Both turned out beautiful and the process was super quick. The place itself is extremely clean and the piercer used extreme care when finding the right spot and placement for the piercings as well as when he did the piercing. This review is for septum piercing pictured (not nostrils):There were some scheduling hiccups….but on the whole the staff of both the Denver and Boulder locations came through to give me a wonderful outcome/experience.I have an oddly deviated septum, and have waited almost a decade to have this piercing done.JOHN was a magician, and I’m so pleased with how my new piercing looks.

I had a great experience at IRIS when I got my conch piercing done in my left ear. I had done some research before going out for an impromptu piercing and saw great reviews for IRIS. My sister and I were both walk-ins on a Sunday afternoon and there were only a couple other folks in the shop. We both were getting piercings (she got her second earlobe piercings done). Maddie was very nice and knowledgeable when it came to all my questions about getting a conch piercing. Bambi did the piercings, and he made us feel very comfortable and confident about the whole process! My sister and I both got our piercings done fairly quickly, even with 1 or 2 people ahead of us. The shop is gorgeous and clean. Everyone who worked there was very patient and explained every step of the process clearly. I havent experienced a single issue with the piercing, and its been 2 weeks (only soreness which is to be expected). Im not entirely sure about the best deals when it comes to piercings, but I thought the entire experience, including the shop, the team, and easy piercing process was definitely worth it!! Anytime I want another piercing I will definitely be going back to IRIS!

My brother and I went to IRIS for our very first piercings and had a phenomenal experience! Laurel was so helpful with finding out what initial septum piercings we wanted to go with, explaining what not to get and why, and made filling out a waiver somehow fun. Ben was our Body Modification Artist and made us feel so comfortable from the get-go. Extremely knowledgable and fun, he calmed my nerves through the entire process explaining everything he was doing and helping me with my breathing during the procedure. Ben is a PROFESSIONAL and the procedure was quick, and easy. His aftercare was great, and made sure we had all the information we needed before we left. I will go to IRIS for any and all of my future piercings and am so thankful my first was here with Ben & Laurel. Thank you, both!!

Getting pierced at Iris was a great experience. Brenna and Harrison were incredibly kind and welcoming. They had excellent jewelry suggestions and Harrison made my piercing clean/fast/nearly painless. I will absolutely be going back to swap out jewelry and more piercings. John was the person that pierced my nose. I dont remember the other girls name but she was really friendly and knowledgeable. She explained the whole process and helped me pick out a stud. John did the piercing and he took the time to talk like we were friends that havent seen each other in awhile. He explained what was going to happen and made me feel really comfortable and relaxed. The room was clean and comfortable too. Before you know it my nose was pierced and it was done!! I followed their directions and everything healed great. They even found several places near where I live (Im out of state) for the 1 month follow-up. Their store is simply amazing. High quality artisan jewelry. The entire experience couldt be better. Just yesterday I got my septum pierced by John, he was super friendly and helped me through the whole process which made me feel great especially since it was my first time getting pierced. The ladies up front were all super nice and accommodating. Not to mention the price was really reasonable for high quality jewelry and experienced piercing staff. If I ever want to get pierced again I would absolutely come here!

What I appreciate most is that twice now theyve told me no when I wanted a piercing due to anatomical reasons. It gives me confidence that it will be done right. And so far the healing has gone very smoothly.

I havent had anything pierced before so coming in and getting my piercings done was a little difficult for me (minor fear of needles) but the staff was very welcoming and helped put me at ease. I had no idea what I was looking for jewelry wise, but they helped me find something I liked. My piercer was fantastic and got through all of my piercings quick and without any fuss, great experience. Im definitely coming here to get future piercings done.

I never usually leave reviews but this place was great enough that I wanted to! I had a helix cartilage piercing that had been pierced over a year ago at a different shop that my body just still wasnt healing. I didnt want to remove it but it had just started randomly swelling and bleeding so I knew it needed to come out. I was super scared and anxious, but the person at Iris who helped me — Harrison — was really calming and helpful. They talked me through what was going on and removed the piercing quickly and cleaned it up gently. I so appreciated how well they listened and their patience in talking it all through with me given that I was pretty stressed about it. Highly recommend Iris!

Start to finish this was hands down the best piercing experience I’ve ever had. Everyone was super friendly, incredibly knowledgeable, and professional.My piercing is in a great spot on my nose and my piercer took into consideration my future goal of transitioning from a stud to a ring when he placed it.I had such a good experience that I can’t wait to go back in for a check up in a few weeks. The service was done quickly and really appreciate the workers being so nice.My only issue is one earring I got kept falling off. It was a miracle finding it the first 3 times and I had planned to come in to get it repaired but got sick. I was told to wear this 24/7 for two months so I tried to keep it in but it seems like I have not been lucky the fourth time. The stick piece broke off and is now just stuck inside the insert, while the main piece is gone. No replacement can be offered. For a piece that cost $170+, I would hope that the quality would be better.

A year of time and nearly a thousand dollars later, one competent piercer remarks, it is strange that theyve been using such long posts, which is the reason why 3 diamond studs have detached and been lost. Meanwhile, the staff raises eyebrows and wonders what may be causing my consistent loss of jewelery, making me thing it is the fault of my ears or sleeping patterns. Not the case. Incompetence that has cost me several hundreds of dollars has nowhere further to look than simply applying the wrong posts. For a franchised jeweler that apparently has no clue what theyre doing, look to Iris.

I accidentally ripped out a relatively new piercing (fly tried to crawl in my mouth under my mask) and I was scrambling to find a place to replace my piercing before the hole closed up.Iris Piercing - specifically Harrison - were insanely helpful. Hello,I got my gorgeous forward helix pierced in July with Iris. My sister has been getting her body jewels there for about 3 or 4 years. So she was really excited to bring me over when I came to visit Colorado.The way we were greeted and treated at the store was incredible. The vibes were good, there was obvious care for health and hygiene, but what was most important and noticeable was that Iris truly cares about what YOU want as a customer. They give time for discussion of what youre really looking for, they let you browse jewellery, test out what things may look like. Honestly I didnt even have the chance to get nervous or anxious. So laid back but also so professional.Not to mention how beautiful their jewellery collection is. I got a genuine rose gold feather in my forward helix that I am so in love with, it was exactly what I wanted. I would say there are items on the pricy side, but there are options that arent too upscale. But honestly the cost of piercing and jewellery matches they high quality service thats being offered.Amazing! I hope I get a chance to visit again and get a new one!

I had heard about Iris piercing from my sister who had an ear piercing done by them years ago. We decided on a piercing and went to get one today, 8/24. We made appointments and when we arrived everyone was very nice, the shop itself is very clean, and the process of getting pierced was so easy. Iris Boulder is an absolute dream come true...it is a beautiful jewelry store where you can choose gorgeous jewelry in a wide variety of prices where you can then get pierced and start enjoying your selection. My daughter and I walked into Iris to get pierced and I cannot express my appreciation for the professional and comfortable atmosphere we experienced. This is the only place I will ever recommend. Clean, beautiful, professional and an all around great experience. Everyone was helpful, took their time, everything was explained openly and honestly and we were treated like their only customers.

Everybody was incredibly helpful and AMAZING! I was thinking about getting my nose pierced, and was hoping to find a trustworthy place. After several reviews and places, I landed on this one. The staff members were very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. They did their best to help me feel as comfortable as possible. They gave great after-care instructions. After about three weeks, my nose ring got stuck on my sweater and pulled off - I walked in and they were incredibly helpful and made sure everything went well. They sterilized EVERYTHING and made sure it was very clean. I would recommend this place to anybody interested in a piercing. For those under the age of 18 they ensure you have a birth certificate and your legal guardian/parent with you. A couple of people tried to get in, and were denied because of the age and lack of birth certificate.

This studio is amazing. I have had piercings at other shops, but they do not come close to the professionalism, care, and courtesy of the people here. They put me at ease, and were extremely kind and helpful. Jesse took great care and patience placing my eyebrow piercing. What a positive experience!

Iris is the best place to go for a piercing. I originally went in looking to get an industrial. Harrison informed me that my ear is not the right shape and that it wouldn’t heal properly or would reject eventually. He provided me with alternatives and we did a faux industrial. He really took the time and care to explain everything from the piercing process to aftercare and how I could change up the piercing. I definitely recommend him if you’re in the area, and I’ll definitely be back.

Everyone at Iris is super helpful and so nice to everyone. A few weeks ago my friend and I went in for piercings and they talked us through everything and proved the sterilization of everything. The metal in the jewelry is high quality and my piercer rechecked and rechecked the correct alignment of the piercings. My friend and I were comfortable and so happy with the outcomes we got. I had a really great experience getting my lobes pierced! I will say its hard not to want to buy everything since they had such amazing jewelry! I especially am grateful to John who did my piercings, as he was very gentle and patient. He also made sure the piercings were straight and even on both sides, which I really appreciated. Another really cool thing is they do custom orders with companies like Anatometal, and BVLA, which are two of my favorites. My visit to Iris really made my day complete and it was pretty great.😁

Nick did my septum piercing at a 12 gauge as per my request. No pain whatsoever. He made me feel safe and comfortable and the front of house staff, Cindy and Laurel, were extremely helpful and kind!

I walked into Iris being a little nervous on what to get with one of my friends. I’m not gonna lie it’s a bit overwhelming sometimes trying to get piercing. The front desk person, Aline, was so awesome! She not only helped me pick out jewelry for my piercings but for previous piercings so they matched, really happy I took their Rec for an asymmetrical look! I’m obsessed with the different tones of the gems we picked! The piercer, Jennie, was awesome as well and took their time with my piercings and made me feel suuuper safe! I totally get why Iris is the first name that comes up when you ask people about piercings! They are the only people I trust with my piercings from now on!

I had to get my new backing in for an earring and it was not a cheap earring. It fell out within a week. I went back and forth with the maker, blaming them for a faulty product. It turned out that it wasn’t threaded properly. It is now lost somewhere. 1000 dollar earring too. Bummed.

Ive been to this studio twice now and have really enjoyed the professional experience they give you. This place is solely for piercing, so you wont have to worry about a tattoo artist giving you your piercing (I mean this piercer could have also been a great tattoo artist, but you wont get them here). They also make sure everything is sanitized in front of you and are nice during the actual piercing. The piercer was also helpful when I had questions about the healing process and other piercings that I might want.

Wow! This place is extremely lit. Such wonderful, friendly, and patient staff. My first ever holes and the experience was nose to tail perfect. Came in for my appt and was sweating hot buckets gazing at all the beautiful jewelry in the cases with no idea what I wanted. Studio assistant Annika was a cool and calming breeze who guided me to my perfect first posts. Jennie did the actual piercing, and was sublime— really took her time getting the placements just so, explaining everything as she went. I was a fr hot mess so shoutout to the low-key therapy provided by both Annika and Jennie lmao. Recommend!!

I walked in on my own while pregnant and wandering around on vacation in Boulder, I knew full well that I could not get a piercing however am very interested in doing so when I am able to. I was impressed with the staff and how they didnt simply turn me away immediately. We discussed what piercings would be good options for me in the future as well as discussing my current piercings. I explained how I had some annoying pain with one and was informed that my jewelry wasnt the right size for it. I never would have thought of that. They happily helped me change my stud length as well as the backing and I am very satisfied! I no longer have any pain and I never would have known that something so simple could fix an issue I had for over a year. Very friendly and welcoming staff as well as clean well maintained environment!

I got my septum pierced here a few weeks ago by Bobby. The whole thing was pretty quick and easy, and very clean and professional. Bobby was very nice and calming. He explained everything to me, exactly what I would feel, when to expect what, etc. The actual piercing did not hurt very much and I have not had any issues since. Would recommend!

I had wanted multiple ear-piercings for several years but hadn’t found a location that didn’t make me nervous... until I walked into IRIS. While their jewelry is beautiful, it was their attention to the details of the actual piercings that put me at ease.A friend and I went in on a Sunday afternoon and while the shop was busy, we were warmly greeted and asked the reason for our visit. Earrings were considered, suggestions and recommendations made - especially about what could and couldn’t be done. The piercings I originally wanted were deemed inadvisable - simply put, it wasn’t going to work for my ears.After picking out earrings and discussing what I wanted, it was time to consult John. He immediately explained that re-opening “old piercings” can be easy. Or not. So that possible “trauma” to my ear had to be considered. Based on my answers to questions about pain levels, past surgeries and other factors, he was willing to do three of the four piercings I was requesting, but that was it. He was persuasive in explaining the reasons why he was right in limiting the piercings - even though it would have meant additional earring and piercing costs.As for the piercing itself - John made it almost painless. In a lovely calm manner that was relaxing and reassuring, he chatted, answered questions and let me know what to expect at each moment. Even the “last deep breath” before the actual piercing was calmly, gently done... to the point that the pain was quick, and it dissipated quickly.After three piercings in my upper ear lobe, and a piercing for my friend, he carefully explained every aspect of after-care from keeping it clean with saline spray and while showering, how to protect the ear while sleeping, and what to do in the weeks and months after. Since I live in Texas, I also appreciated his finding a local business to tighten the piercings when the time comes. Though honestly, given the service John provided at IRIS, I’d be very happy to fly back to Boulder.

I they have a machine that sterilizes all the jewelry past a surgical level. Prices are super reasonable too. I believe my piercing fee was somewhere in the $30s for a Conch.

The pieces they use require you to come in and have it changed by them, you are not able to change it on your own. They do not take into consideration what you would like, slightly condescending, and a bit pushy. Not worth the money they charge. Would not recommend Iris on Pearl St. in Boulder.Additionally, just an FYI that they don’t share with you - if you don’t like the piercing piece, while you are still in the studio, you CAN be remedied and/or refunded. In my case, that was not the situation.

I had been looking for the best place to get my ears pierced for a bit of time. Having done research and previous experience of getting my ears pierced, I knew what I did and didn’t want. When I read that IRIS piercings uses a needle rather than a piercing gun, my attention was caught (Needles will be less painful and are far more safer because they are sterilized). Going there, you can tell that they want to make sure everything is clean. Once you select the earrings they will sterilize them, which they will show you the indicator that they are clean before removing them. Josh—piercer— was very down-to-earth and made sure each piercing was where I wanted on the lobe and adjusted as seen fit. It was nice being able to see where he planned on putting the piercing instead of just going for it like I’ve had in the past when I got my ears pierced. For the piercing process itself, I was told to do deep breathing and then my ear was pierced. In all honesty, I couldn’t even feel it. Afterwards I was told me how I should take care of the piercing. Interestingly enough from what I was told before when I had my ears pierced, you aren’t supposed to rotate the earring or touch all together. Only saline solution is to be applies two or three times a day. I cannot speak highly enough about IRIS piercing! The people there are all very welcoming and the experience was exceptional. If I ever want more piercings I would definitely come back.

We had a great experience at Iris when my 10 year old went to get her ears pierced. Research indicated that a real piercing studio was the best place to get ear piercing done, as they are highly trained and very sanitary and there is no blunt trauma, such as one suffers with a ear piercing gun (which are also difficult to clean properly). They were great with my daughter, explaining every step and making sure they had her explicit and written permission to perform the piercing. She was taken to a private space where she could lie down for the piercing and I could be with her. She was told to breathe and relax and there were no surprises. The healing has gone very well- it stopped hurting within the day and has shown no sign of infection. We were given clear instructions on how to care for her ears, which was very simple and not like the old days- no turning or peroxide! She could easily sleep on them that night. I would recommend Iris in Boulder for kid ear piercing!

We live abroad and waited until our holiday visit to have our 7 year old daughters ears pierced at Iris. They were recommended by several friends and did not disappoint! Heads up - you will need to bring your childs birth certificate!! To ensure top sanitation, they only pierce with jewelry purchased from them, so no need to bring your own. The flat-back earrings they sold us are comfortable even to sleep in, and we appreciated the aftercare advice they offer. Tyler did our daughters piercing and was honest and kind with her, and very patient. Our daughter loves her new earrings and was happy to show them off to a little girl in the lobby as we were leaving. Iris contacted us several weeks later to check on us. Its been 8+ weeks since our experience and I am confident to leave a 5 star review and fully recommend Iris for your childs ear piercing.

John did an amazing job! Having six holes poked in my ears was a surprisingly chill experience.Also the place is immaculately clean, everything is sterile, the jewelry is really high quality, I can’t say enough. Definitely worth going here and having it done right.

The best experiences with piercing Ive ever had. With extremely high end jewelry, its a jewelry shop that fits you with the pieces you buy, essentially. But they know best practices, they know physiology, they know after care. And everything is surgical steel and precious metals, so my nickel allergy is a non-concern.You can get glass spacers here as well, which was helpful when I had to undergo major surgery. Its amazing that I can walk in, pick something out or bring in jewelry Ive bought before, and theyll switch things right out for me. Great service, great care, great jewelry.

I was seen promptly, the piercing was as painless as I could have hoped and it looks great. My piercer was very honest about how my piercing would look given the spot and the curvature of my ear. So far, Ive had no issues with my piercing at all and its been about 4 weeks since. Over all, the facility is very clean and careful, would definitely recommend getting your self pierced here!

Iris was by far the most professional and clean piercing studio Ive visited. Josh consulted me on the piercings I wanted, and what would be best interest of placement and jewelry. They have an amazing selection of jewelry too. From small simple studs to much more elaborate pieces.

Ive gone to this studio for a few piercings now. They are professional and thorough. Its not cheap but the price is fair and you get what you pay for in quality.

I was in town for NYE and decided to make a stop at Iris for a new set of earlobe piercings. The wait was long (an hour+) but the staff is great and the piercing experience is great. I would recommend making an appointment if you can to avoid the line, but they can also accommodate walk ins if youre willing to wait. See you next time I come to Boulder!

I just walked in to get my nose pierced and it was very reasonably priced ($35 for the piercing and then lowest price for the actual piercing stud was like $20+), and everything was very professional. Walking into the store even, you’ll notice it’s a very impressive little place. Kat and Bambi (Michael) we’re both incredibly professional, warm and welcoming, as well as patient and answered all my questions while asking me all of the necessary questions.Highly recommend—they even fixed someone else’s nose piercing when they came in after getting it done somewhere else but didn’t feel comfortable asking them to fix or redo it where she was at. Michael swooped in so fast to calm her, offer her some solutions, and make sure everything was done the way she wanted. Thank you for a great experience! Also the studs and jewelry in there are so reasonably priced, you can go expensive, but everything already is such high quality without a hefty price tag.

I went to IRIS studio to get my earlobes re pierced after letting them close up. As a piercing noob, Jake and Annika were awesome! Annika was super gracious with her time, made some fun recommendations and helped me pick out the perfect pair. Jake was patient and talked me through the piercing (I hate the thought of needles). I felt safe because of the immense care they took in being hygienic and thorough every step of the way. Jaymes talked me through it, eased my fears, chatted about related topics and made me laugh. Highly recommend Iris piercing! I was nervous after having had two previous ear piercing attempts that had gotten infected and not worked out several years prior. John was kind, professional, did a great job, and I had zero redness/swelling/pain after. Very happy with the results!

I got my nose pierced at Iris Body Piercing and I would definitely recommend it. The people were very friendly and helpful, everything was clean and Jaymes was very gentle and made sure I knew everything that was going on. And they follow through after your piercing to make sure everything is going well. I love my nose ring!

I love this place, so nice, so clean and very friendly! Jaymes (the piercer) took care of me. He removed a piercing of mine (that I got from another place) free of charge! And even though the fee to get pierced at Iris is a bit high. He was very professional with me, pierced my ears, and did it wayyy quicker than the last time I got pierced. Its been 2 weeks and its healing a lot better than I expected! The piercing hurt a little more than normal. But totally worth it! Youll walk out looking good, and without any problems!

We came in because my daughters piercings were giving her trouble. We wanted to see what suggestions IRIS had for us. John was amazing and patient with my daughter who was ... quite worried, in tears, and afraid it would hurt. He talked her through everything and used extremely gentle hands to look at her ears and swap out the earrings. He was even very patient in between ears, when she realized both earrings were being swapped out.Thank you John. My daughter already feels better and she loves her new earrings. Well see you in a month to get those new backs we talked about!

Laurel and Harrison were incredibly nice and conversational, the space and sanitary methods were classy and ideal, and we found my perfect jewelry. additionally, I loved the gender-neutral language used for me. 10/10 would recommend if youre in Boulder! 🖤

Fantastic experience!! Josh had the most amazing energy! Maddie and Josh were both extremely knowledgeable and provided a calm and sterile environment. Maddie helped us select our jewelry and Josh walked us through the entire process to make us feel comfortable. My boyfriend and I got our septum’s pierced and it was a seamless experience! My nose piercing was $25 and the stud was $15. Very affordable, going back for my septum next month. I will only pierce at Iris while I live in Boulder. I trust them the most of all other facilities in town.

Let me start by saying I’ve been to this shop several times over the last 5 years and I’m pretty disappointed with the experience I just had. I’m grateful they were so cautious with covid rules, but scheduling felt really rushed (only 15 minutes) and I bought a $70 nose ring that didn’t fit me. It’s currently guess work if you want replacement jewelry that fits. It wasn’t an awesome experience.Also I felt like the tellers were a little condescending. It’s a bummer because I was so excitement about it as I live on the western slope and made this part of my trip. Long story short- if you want a solid experience I’d wait until covid regulations are over.

Jaymes did an amazing job! I came from Nashville on vacation and decided it was a great time to get a new piercing. I had my nose pierced twice prior and had taken it out for various reasons. I figured third time was a charm and it had been about 7 years since I had a piercing of any kind. The piercing studio itself is immaculate and the staff was so friendly. Jaymes made me feel extremely comfortable and its obvious he takes pride in even the smallest jobs. He was super informative and helpful even though it was my third time going through the process. He even helped my friend who had a previous piercing gone wrong. We were so lucky to find Iris on our trip! After a lot of consideration of whether or not I wanted to get a piercing, I had finally decided on one I liked enough that I could see myself keeping it for a long time. I had heard horror stories of course, and even seen a few piercings that hadnt been done well or cared for properly. Then I met 3 people in quick succession who had gotten pierced at Iris, and not only did their piercings look fantastic, they only had good things to say about the shop, its staff, and their practices. So when I finally had the money and the time to properly care for a piercing, I decided to visit Iris. I had been in a few times to ask the basic questions about jewelry, location and pricing, and though it pains me to admit, I felt that I wasnt taken seriously by any of the people who worked there until I walked in and said todays the day, Im getting my bridge pierced. Luke was the one who did it, and he was very clear and kind with his explanations, and very accommodating of my numerous questions. I have been back into the shop a few times over the month its been since I got the piercing, just with more questions and to get a professional opinion on how it was healing, and every time I leave the shop I have a huge smile on my face because I feel that Im being treated with respect, and I just get more stoked about the piercing every time I go in. I will definitely be going to Iris for all my future piercings for as long I live in Colorado.

I have been coming to this shop for at least 5 years, and the shop assistants and piercers are always terribly rude, arrogant, contrary, impatient, and unwelcoming. I have had 4 ear piercings here and I brought both of my daughters here to get their ears pierced over the years, and I always have an issue.The worst experience I had happened when I came in because one of the holes in my ears had closed up and I wanted to get it re-pierced. I know it had healed, but the piercer insisted it wasn’t and he could just “open it back up”. Without any of the normal health & safety protocols or paperwork, he stuck a blunt gauge through my ear, ripping a hole in my lobe. It was horribly traumatic, (he used so much force it scared my daughter who was with me and made her cry out in fear) and afterwards I was left feeling concerned that it hadn’t been done in a sanitary manner and I may have been exposed to who knows what by this unprofessional piercer.Today I came in to have my little daughters earrings switched out to gold earrings and posts because she is having an allergic reaction to the titanium earrings she was pierced her with. The piercer told me this was “highly unlikely” because titanium is the least reactive metal with the skin. Any jeweler will tell you gold is the most inert metal you can wear. These guys don’t know what they’re talking about, and they don’t even sell gold posts and backs for that matter. They even insinuated I needed to take my daughter to the doctor because I didn’t know what I was talking about. The shop assistant was also on such a high horse about not coming in the moment I opened the door, before I had even set foot in the shop because we needed to sign waivers and “did we have an appointment?”. Yes, I had already signed the waivers for me and my daughter, and was just opening the door to say hello & check in for our appointment. All she had to do was politely ask me, not accost and chastise me.I don’t know why I kept coming back here after so many bad experiences. It’s not worth putting up with their attitude anymore. There are plenty of other wonderful jewelry stores in Boulder to do business with. I walked up the street and bought a pair of solid 14K gold earrings for my daughter at Hurdles where they know how to treat their customers and do business. Even though I live just a few blocks away I will never return to Iris.

I first went to IRIS Piercing Studio 3 months after I had surgery for earlobe repair. They said I should wait 6 months to a year to have them repierced. I waited just over a year. I was so pleased with Tyler who did the piercing. He was very careful to make sure the piercings would be even and was so meticulous about making sure everything was sterilized. There was no pain andI havent had any problems with the piercings. I highly recommend this studio.

I have been here twice and was super impressed. I brought my 6 year old daughter to get her ears pierced and she said it didnt even hurt and has had no issues since. I had my ears double pierced here and had a great experience as well - everyone was super friendly, professional, and great at what they do. Highly recommend!

I was really nervous about finding the right place to get my double piercing. I was considering Tribal Rites, as that is where most of my friends have gotten their piercings from but I have also heard many horror stories from that place. So I was super glad when I found IRIS upon doing a quick google search. This store provides high quality, professional piercings, which can be very hard to find. To me, it seemed more like a high end jewlry store that also provides great piercings. John did a great job at walking me through the piercing and the aftercare, while the women at the counter also was very helpful in helping me pick out the right earings. He gladly answered all of my concerned Dads questions about hygien and piercing practises. I ended up paying $240, $25 for the actual piercing process, $148 for 2 plain gold earings, $30 2 earing packs, $10 saine solution which is pretty expensive but I have no doubt in my mind that my earings are high quality and the piercings were done well. Overall, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for high end piercings with no nonesense.

I took my daughter here to get her ears pierced a couple of weeks ago. I was so impressed by this business. They were great with my daughter, and show you the jewelry has been sterilized before piecing. Her ears have healed wonderfully! Not even a little red!

Ive only ever done ear piercing and Ive usually pierced them myself so when I went to iris to get my naval pierced I wasnt exactly sure what to expect but they were amazing!! They were so nice and clean and they walked me through every step. They were also very informative and they had my best interest the whole way. Im so pleased with my new piercings. My artist was very professional but made me feel at ease too. The shop was also very clean and well organized which made me feel safe about the sanitization. Overall, I strongly recommend this place to anyone looking to get any kind of piercing. Ill certainly be coming back. The only criticism I would have is that it seemed a bit expensive to me, but I know that everyone has to make money. I really dont mind paying extra to go to a place where I know there wont be employee or sanitization issues.
