Love Bolder Ink!! Frankie has done my last 3 tattoos!! They are amazing abd so is he!! Traditional style, amazing line work and shading. All mine are color and turned out better than I could have imagined. If you need a great tattoo definitely go to Bolder Ink!!

Aaron at Bolder Ink was excellent! Very patient with all my questions for this newbie. He took my inspiration photos and came up with a great tattoo. Hes very talented and knows his stuff, from how well types of tattoos will age and after care. Highly recommend!

My husband and I have been getting tattooed by Lance at Bolder Ink for 25 years. We moved out of state a few years back and now fly in to get our work done. Our daughter just had her first sleeve finished by Lance. We trust him implicitly—his artistry, professionalism, and cleanliness are first class. My friend and I came in for a walk-in tattoo as we make it tradition anytime he visits we get a tattoo together. I got paired up with Jodie. She was super nice and friendly, showed me her line work as I was interested in getting an American Traditional rose in color to be similar to the one I have in black and grey on my right leg.Jodie took her time to make sure all the shading and coloring was filled in right. She also changed up the leaves she had originally on her line drawing of the rose. I loved what it ended up looking like, and will definitely come back for more of her stuff she has!

I’ve been coming to Bolder ink for the last 5 years to get all my tattoos, my last two were done by Francesco and he did an amazing job!! I gave him my ideas and he turned them into reality and added his own style. Overall experience with him was 10/10 he was super light handed and my tats healed up super quick. Highly recommend!!

The best tattoo shop in America. I’ve been to quite a few and Bolder Ink is the best of the best. Traveled from Phoenix to get tattoos with my friend and Lance made it the best experience. His work is phenomenal, has decades of experience, and is a true artist. I will continue to fly back to Boulder for my tattoos and will forever recommend this spot.

Went to Bolder Ink for my first tattoo, and am very glad I did. Aaron did an amazing job on the tattoo and took time to walk me though all the aftercare steps. Everyone working there was very friendly and helpful. Will definitely be getting more tattoos from them in the future.

I have always expressed how great they are and that I wouldnt ever get a tattoo anywhere else. But when I was there a couple weeks ago I was highly let down. The work was amazing. Im happy with how my tattoo turned out. But, I felt very unwelcome. I felt like my idea wasnt seen. Maybe even joked about. I felt like there was not a ton of respect for me. Definitely a let down because their work is really good, and the price is exactly what you should expect to pay for the work.

I had my 3rd experience at Bolder Ink today with Lance and couldn’t be more psyched. Bolder Ink has 5 star service and a 5 star crew. If you’re looking for amazing, talented artists that will design and deliver one of a kind pieces - this is your place!

Currently have several tattoos. Was interested in getting more here in Boulder. Called and spoke with Frankie, who was generally nice. He told me to send an email with pictures, info, and more explaining what I was looking for and that they would get back to me. Sent that day. Followed up with a phone call to confirm he got it. Then followed up via email a week later, followed by even another phone call. No response and they seemed pretty disinterested in me. Went to Inksmith Tattoos and met someone who was super responsive, cared about the work I wanted to get done, and I felt welcomed. I would give this one star but did two only because Frankie seemed nice over the phone.

I made two appointments in the past with Boulder ink. Talked to a few artists and never really felt like I was respected in the shop. I felt like I was not really wanted there. I had a very simple idea for a tattoo. I definitely felt like I could never squeeze my own idea or even a few words out. As most of the artists were stuck on the fact that I should do it “their way”. Which I understand can help from a professionals stand point, but this was more of like just a cheap route to give me a tattoo I did not want that would cost more. After finding more artists in Colorado I got the desired tattoos I wanted with no fuss. And I definitely felt more welcomed in those other places. I might have caught Boulder ink on two occasions that were just not good for them. But they definitely didn’t make me feel like a valued client and I definitely don’t wanna trust Boulder ink to tattoo me after all this.

Ive been in a lot of tattoo shops...some, when you walk in, you dont get that warm, fuzzy feeling, or a feeling of confidence in the shop and the people around you. The complete opposite is what I felt walking into Bolder Ink. Everyone I encountered was very nice and welcoming. They even had me laughing no less than 10 minutes after I arrived. I got that warm, fuzzy feeling immediately. I knew they knew what they were doing. Aaron was the artist that did my tattoo. Not only did he do an amazing job, but he was up front with me about everything. I came in with a certain idea of how I wanted my tattoo placed. After catching on as to what he was saying, I thought no I dont want the wording to look upside down to everyone but me. So we discussed other ways to do the tattoo (which he was very patient and helpful with). I have a beautiful, perfect tattoo thanks to Aaron. I definitely recommend Bolder Ink and Aaron, but I know any artist there would do an amazing job!

A bandmate recommended Bolder Ink as the best parlor in town, and he was absolutely right. I have been completely satisfied with the work performed by both Aaron and Pee Wee, and I presume the rest of the artists are top-notch too. Pleasant atmosphere in the shop and the artists are friendly, patient, and very helpful in collaborating on tattoo design and placement. It may cost a little more than the chain shops, but its totally worth it for the piece of mind that your tattoo will turn out great.

I have had several tattoos done at Bolder Ink with Lance. He is professional, friendly and has a great sense of humor. He takes very good care of you the entire time...he will give you an honest opinion of your ideas, maintains a clean and sanitized workspace and will answer any questions you may have about after care.If you want top quality tattooing and attention to every detail along the way, I would highly recommend this place.

I have been receiving ink from Bolder Ink for a few years now. I have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is exactly what you want when you are coming in for life altering art. The artists and staff are professional, caring, and always a good time. They make you feel comfortable and taken care of. The artists are real people with real lives and real opinions. They greet you, talk to you, remember you when you come back, and are genuinely excited for your ink. Getting to know them is a privilege. PeeWee has been amazing with my projects. He always listens to what I want, but also is a true professional and knows what will actually work best for art and for my body. I trust him and he has never disappointed. My tattoos are beautiful and I am proud of them. I recommend Bolder Ink to everyone I know who is looking for true art. I will continue to only go to Bolder Ink for my tattoos.

Ive been tattooed by Joel at Bolder Ink twice now and both times he has created beautiful work that flows with the body and has made me feel at ease during the process. If you want to laugh and have a master tattoo artist work with you, Joel is who you want and Bolder Ink is where you want to go. I never have reservations letting Joel create art with me and I will always go back to him for more. Further, all the guys at Bolder Ink are super nice and very into the art - I truly love this place!

Ive been getting tattooed at Bolder Ink for just over 7 years now. The attitude in the shop is fun and light-hearted, I enjoy going in for a good laugh as much as going in to get work done. Mijo is my go-to artist, hes exceptionally skilled and well rounded. His ability to make any style piece look crisp and timeless is impressive, and hes always excited to work on something new and fun. Hes patient and kind, and an extremely talented artist. I would recommend him to anyone, veteran canvas or first-timer. That being said, all of the artists at Bolder Ink are exceptionally talented and professional. Pee Wee put a killer mountain lion on my left arm and its definitely one of my favorite pieces. Aaron, Brian, Joel, and shop owner Lance are all well known for their own unique style and approach to making awesome, unique and built-to-last art, and Id feel more than confident recommending any of them to my friends and family. When you get something designed at Bolder Ink, you often get the advantage of hearing the opinions and suggestions of several veteran tattoo artists on placement, color and other design elements. The goal of the shop, collectively, is to make great looking tattoos that look great for a lifetime. Thats what you really want from a tattoo, something that will age well and look great your whole life, and at Bolder ink thats what youre going to get. Ive always wanted a tattoo but it wasnt until I saw the incredible artwork coming out of Bolder Ink that I decided to go for it. Im almost done with a half sleeve from Joel Long and couldnt be happier. I get compliments all the time and its not even finished yet! Friendly, funny and knowledgeable staff in a comfortable atmosphere make me look forward to every appointment. The talent and dedication of the artists here is inspiring to say the least. I cant say enough good things about Bolder Ink!

Seriously every tattoo shop I’ve ever been to has felt like a death metal hospital. Cold, grungy, and they just push people through to make money but Bolder ink is the exact opposite I felt like I walked in to longtime friends. the atmosphere is welcoming, clean, and everyone there is awesome and super kind! Perfect! i went in with an idea. i was asked to look through all of the artistss portfolios to see if anyone popped out at me. later, i met with Brain for a free consultation. he knew exactly what i wanted and why. he was nothing but professional and easy going. Brian is an amazing and talented artist who made my ink come to life. this has been the most perfect tattooing experience i could have hoped for. i have already recommended both Brian and Bolder Ink to various friends. definitely a place to at least check out.

This is the best place to go in Boulder! Walked in, the staff was awesome! PeeWee took me in on short notice and really took care of me. I gave him some ideas and he drew up an amazing piece and started on it right away. The other guys in the shop were great and encouraging. Spent half the day there and cant wait to go back! Aaron did an amazing job on my first tattoo, healed quickly and he made me feel super comfortable. Was super nervous up until I walked in the place and then felt super calm. Ive had several family members also get tattoos here from Mijo, PeeWee and Lance. And I know we will all be back in the future!

My sister and i went in with a friend and PeeWee was so great! everything from sizing to having awesome recommendations. he custom drew my sternum piece and it is AMAZING! seriously the detail and clean lines. thin lines, thicker lines, dot shading, it’s beautiful. i even had an idea to add some words and he told me that wasn’t his strong suit anymore which i a thousand percent respected the honesty, and now looking at it the way it is, i wouldn’t want it any other way.

Lane T is an incredible human as well as tattoo artist. He did my DIL peony tatoo. Brian did free style waves for me. SOOOO many compliments!

I got a tattoo from Mijo. I can’t begin to express how wonderful the experience was. He is so gentle and open to listening to what I wanted. His work is exceptional. I love this guy! And bolder ink has the most decent people working there. I highly recommend Mijo. I will forever love my half sleeve!

Was not impressed with Bolder Ink. I made an appointment with Mijo well in advance for a specific date I would be in the area traveling in from out of state. I emailed over some images that inspired the design for my tattoo to Allen the shop manager. Since it was a very simple line work design Allen assured me I did not need a consult. On the day of the appointment Mijo was late and not prepared. Although I was very detailed in my emails back and forth with Allen ahead of time of what I was looking for and in what style, when I got there Mijo insisted he did not want to do a simple line tattoo. That it wasnt his style and didnt want his name behind it I can respect that.However: 1) Why didnt anyone tell me this when I sent in specific images of what I wanted the design to look like in advance? 2) Mijo, if you call yourself an artist I would have expected a more creative approach to troubleshoot the intended design instead of just a hard No. I came to Mijo with the concept of a very simple feminine line tattoo of mountains and he wanted to add shading and whatnot which is a completely different look/style. Mijo basically told me in other words that the design was dumb and the placement was cliche. 3) I basically paid my deposit to NOT have Mijo tattoo me, to save myself a terrible experience and an unwanted design. I paid the deposit to not have Mijo touch me with a 10 foot pole.I cant speak for everyone, but most people are getting a certain tattoo because they want to commemorate something, solidify a memory or just add some cool art to their body, but what they dont want is some bummer of a guy needling away at their body, resentful because its not the style that he would prefer = bad vibes = bad experience. I said Nah youre not the right person for this task and walked out. BEST. DECISION. Ive ever made. If you have a specific vision in mind, find an artist that will work with you in a positive way to fulfill your design. Although it is important to compromise to an extent because of the nature of the what can be achieved via tattooing there are certain things may or may not be possible, but dont feel the need to change your design completely, instead seek out an artist who can creatively and successfully tattoo your design. Also, find an artist to is psyched to be creating this memory/art piece/experience with you, not someone who makes you feel badly about your design and just doesnt feel like doing it.

Aaron was amazing. I walked in a week ago with 3 different pictures and told him my idea and when I went in yesterday and he showed me what he came up with, it was so perfect.! Everything I wanted and then some.! The size was perfect, the colors, everything.!!! I Love it and cant wait for everyone to see it. Thank you so much Aaron.!!!!!

The guys here are down to earth - and very realistic about tattoo expectations. So far I have only gotten an hour and a half of work here, but I am planning 20 more hours that I wouldnt go anywhere else for.Pee Wee is my artist and is not afraid to tell people if the idea they have for their tattoo is stupid.You dont get tattoos here - you get art.

Came here for my 3rd (and biggest) piece on a whim. Frankie was phenomenal in scheduling my walk in, and PeeWee was an outstanding artist! He brought my (very scatter brained) vision to life and was a pleasure to sit for. I plan on coming back here for another piece!

Brian has gone above and beyond with my tattoo! We had one more session to finish up before COVID happened. I’m excited to finish it up in the next couple months! 10/10 Recommend to anyone!

It was an honor to have Mijo rework a tattoo from years ago into an amazing piece of art that celebrates the relationship my daughter and I share. I dont know that you could find a shop with a more fun atmosphere that also shows such respect for the process of receiving a tattoo.

Second tattoo here and will go back if I ever want another. Everyone was welcoming and gave honest feedback on my desired design that improved it.

I would never go any where else. Sat in the chair with Peewee for hours he has never disappointed. If you want art, its not cheap. Its not quick. Have a sense of humor... They are all very good people.

My sister and I made an appointment to discuss long term projects and were treated so rudely when we showed up early. We left and will never go back and hope that they will see less business so long as they treat new customers like jerks. You cant stand on 20 years of being in a location alone.
