Rising Tide is the best of the best. I have a full sleeve from Darren as well as a few smaller tattoos from him and Stevie. I have many tattoos from different shops but no one compares to these guys. They have always been professional, accommodating, and friendly. They are masters of their craft.

Absolutely love Rising tide, Darren is the BEST. Hes done all my tattoos, and his line work is incredible. Clean, great communication, creative and all my ink has healed better here than any other studio Ive been to. 10/10.

I was 36 when I got my first tattoo from Phil Bartell at Rising Tide. Phil has been tattooing for a very long time and it shows. He has done 3 pieces so far and it’s always a great experience. I can’t stress enough how important it is to find someone competent and creative. I recommend these guys and gals to everyone wanting to get a tattoo and relax about the outcome.

The staff here was sooooo kind and helpful!! They got me in for a walk in without any problems, and I couldnt be happier with how my first tattoo came out :) kacy was super rad and very talented, definitely check this place out, great vibes & great people ❤️

These artists are AMAZING! Every single one that I have been to so far have been beyond professional, absolutely creative and amazingly talented. Phil the owner is an absolute amazing dude, he’s done 2 pieces on me and both have not only healed amazing but he even somehow manages to make the experience of being stabbed pleasant. Stevie is also absolutely incredible, she has such a creative mind and tattoos at such a next level, she gave me such a great experience with my hand tattoo, and my second appointment with her was just as great! She even made my mom feel at home (who does NOT get tattooed really). My most recent visit with Matt was just as great, not only a great guy but made me feel welcome in the space! He is so talented as well and such an incredible tattooer who created what I wanted to the T! All of my tattoos so far from this shop have healed beautifully and have been complimented so much, it’s really a diamond in the rough in regards to tattooing in the area. I always refer people to this place if you’re looking for great company, tattoos, and prices, which are extremely reasonable for the amazing art they make! If you’re trying to figure out where to go for a tattoo, this is the spot!

I was tattooed by Phil and he was so amazing!! My tattoo looks AMAZING and he is so nice and professional! I got a traditional style tiger on the side of my abdomen and he did so well with the placement! Everyone there was so nice and made the whole experience wonderful! I would definitely recommend Phil for any sort of traditional style tattoo!

I got got my first tattoo at this shop from Darren and have kept coming back since. I cant recommend Darren enough for his professionalism, artistry, and great conversation. Even then, the rest of the folks at Rising Tide are amazing too. Glenn is awesome and keeps everyone in check. Overall, this shop deserves its high rating and will take care of anyone from someone looking for their 1st tattoo to their 50th.

I made an appointment for Friday over the phone on Tuesday. We called to confirm on Friday morning as we were traveling and they said yes we have your apt. Then we got there at the scheduled time and they couldn’t find our apt. They acted like they didn’t even try to look for it. The gal at the front was not comfortable doing any word tattoo and handed us off the a guy named max or matt. He was very rude and the whole vibe was totally off. Also they lied about the shop minimum. We were there for a very special weekend and it was disappointing that we originally picked this shop to kill the energy. But we turned it around elsewhere.

I had the most wonderful experience with this shop for my first tattoo, a line of Sanskrit in the Devanāgarī script. I sat with Dana Knight, and she was thoughtful and wonderful and supportive and engaging. She really took time to understand what I wanted, she checked in with me regularly, and I felt really comfortable. Oh, and shes amazingly talented! The tattoo is basically perfection, just exactly how I hoped it might be. I recommend this place 100% for anyone getting their first tattoo, as they also do a great job educating on how to care for it, what to expect over time, etc. They offer touch-ups as needed as well, I think, which is great service.All in all, five stars. Thank you!

I came here today with 2 friends for tattoos. The front desk staff was amazing. He worked incredibly hard to get us all in. He is kind, friendly, professional, respectful. So from the beginning the experience was amazing. We all 3 worked with Albert and he is an incredible artist. He took lots of time to make sure we had exactly what we wanted. He was very patient and gave lots of great input and advice on how to make it better. Our experience and final artwork was phenomenal. Can’t say enough great things about it! If you live anywhere near here, this is the place!!

Went here for my very first tattoo and was paired with Dana - who listened to my ideas and hang ups, answered every single one of my many questions and concerns, encouraged me to take time if I needed to think about things, and blew it away with the design she created. She really eased me into the appointment and took the time to explain each step so there was no surprises on my end. I am beyond thrilled with my new tattoo and its healing so well, the line work is perfect. 10/10 definitely coming back and would recommend you give them a shot!

I’ve gotten two great tattoos here, but things seem to being going downhill with customer service. in the last week, I reached out hoping to make an appointment for a new tattoo. I emailed back and forth for a day or two with Glenn about making an appointment when suddenly one day he just stopped responding to my emails for no reason and with no explanation. I tried to follow up multiple times but haven’t heard back. Rude, but it’s fine. I’ll take my money somewhere else.

Skilled. Arrogant and passive aggressive. I made an appointment for bridal party to get tattoos. I fully understand that there are artist who are not interested in this type of tattooing. That’s fine. Communicate that before hand. Don’t make the appointment. Instead, we came in excited and we were treated in a condescending manner by the artist who also made everyone all the tattoos larger than they agreed to. Bummer all around. If you want to deal with immaturity and have that inked into your body, this is your place.

I love this tattoo shop, has a much better feeling that they care for their customers then some others that I have been into. The music that they play is a lot better also.

I went in there today to get a very old tattoo touched up. It was missing ink in some spots and the colors were not what I originally wanted. Phill showed me his ideas with permanent marker before starting any work and I loved it! He was able to do my tattoo at my consultation which is not usual, but it was a small one and he had time before his next appointment. This was good because I was trying to get it done and healed before my wedding in July. (I scheduled my appointment in early May and this was the soonest they had--you know if they are that busy, they MUST be good. Also several friends recommended them.) Im so happy with it, and he answered all my questions about care and healing process. The information they give you for the after care is very specific about what to do. Ill definitely be back! Dana was warm and friendly greeting me at the door for my appointment, the space is clean and tidy and I could tell they are taking extra precautions seriously during covid times to keep the reception area sanitized. Albert was my artist, he was organized and clear about the design and took my concerns and suggestions in such a friendly way. My tattoo was even better than I imagined it and Albert was efficient and professional. Highly recommend and will definitely return when I’m ready for some more ink!

I had a couple pieces done at rising tide. Overall impressions are that the shop is clean, the quality is good, and the staff is friendly. However i will not be back for reasons noted below.Each attempt at communicating with the shop was harder than expected. Submitted an email through the website, didnt hear back. Called and left a msg, didnt hear back. Called again and finally got someone that set up an appt.Had a couple appts w Stevie who was even worse at communicating. She provided an email addr and phone number and said either are fine for contact. She never actually responded to an email even though she asked me to send images and notes about the work i wanted done. She responded to 2 of the 5 texts i sent. Again, i was attempting to discuss the work that i would be paying hundreds of dollars for at the next appt. The quality of her work was good, but it wasnt really what I was after. Maybe some artists prefer full creative license, but that doesnt work for me because its going to be on my body for a long time.

The service here is great. My sister and I wanted matching tattoos for a very particular reason and it was time sensitive. They understood how much meaning there was behind these tattoos and rescheduled people to accommodate us. So thanks to those customers for understanding as well. The artist who did our tattoos was good and helped make the energy of this event complete.

Very happy with my tattoo, but not so happy with the service. Artist was 20 minutes late getting started, and didnt really seem sorry about it. No conversation the whole 2 hours. When it was done, she just dropped me off at the desk for the receptionist to go over the aftercare. Not impressed. Love the art, not the artist.

I had a cover up done by Albert. He took my idea made some changes that made the tattoo better but still stayed true to the theme I was looking for. He did a great job, lines were good and clean and shading was on point as well. This is not my first tattoo and Albert is one of the better artists I’ve worked with. Highly recommended

Best tattoo shop in Boulder/Denver area! Darren Hall is an excellent tattoo artist that has done several tattoos for me! I highly recommend him and Rising Tide!!!

I had an appointment scheduled with Mo for 4pm. Mo showed up at 3:55pm returning from her break and let me know she needed a quick bite to eat before getting started (which is perfectly fine, no one wants an hungry artist tattooing them). At 4:20pm, I could tell I was not a valued customer and asked the receptionist to cancel. Mo then came out of her office and condescendingly told me that I shouldnt expect an artist to be on time, spoke as if I was the one wasting her time and said that providing me a refund for my deposit would put her out $1. Very displeased and would not recommend if you are hoping to have a good experience.

I have several tattoos from Rising Tide. Darren did a great job with each and every one of them. I came in, told him the elements that I wanted and some general color schemes-and gave him some pictures of things I liked and didnt like. He worked from my incoherent I kind of want this, but hate this ideas to come up with tattoos that exceeded any expectation I might have had. Ill definitely be back!

They took me and my 3 girlfriends as walk ins and worked with us on our designs. Our tattoo artist I unfortunately cannot remember his name, but was from India and he was so friendly and outgoing. He did a great job. THe place is clean and reasonably priced!

Phil and team are awesome people and awesome artists. Cant go wrong getting your first or fiftieth tattoo here.

We are so happy to call this our home tattoo shop. We are always pleased with the work they do and have enjoyed working with the artists in creating unique pieces. Everyone here is so wonderful, and we always make a point to stop in an say hey when we are in the area.

Such an amazingly friendly and talented staff. The parlor itself feels so homey and relaxing, and the staff seem like a big family. I was there for 6 hours getting work done and there was never a dull moment. I travelled here just to get Mo to tattoo me and it turned out perfectly! If I was local, I would never go anywhere else.

Last Friday, my two best friends and I all went to get small tattoos at Rising Tide. Our appointment was with Danny, who was clearly knowledgeable and skilled at what he does. We are all beyond pleased with his work, and love our tattoos. However, I knew I had to write this review for another very important reason. While my friend was being tattooed, my sister (who had accompanied us to our appointment) unexpectedly had a seizure. Obviously, this was very scary for us. Danny sprang into action once he knew what was going on and held her head, all the while assuring us she would be okay. He sat there with us, still holding her head, until the paramedics came and generally kept us calm. He also called us the next day to make sure everyone was okay (my sister is doing just fine now). We all appreciate Dannys kindness so much, as well as his skills as an artist. We will definitely be back to Rising Tide for any future ink!

I got a tattoo yesterday in honor of my mother. I brought in a general design and I had a location in mind. I had a consultation with Darren and then set up an appointment. I felt respected, safe, and the tattoo is beautiful. Its all that I had hoped it would be. Wonderful place!

Rising Tide is full of great artists whether youre looking for flash or something custom. They have a great variation in artists and I can guarantee youll be able to find someone to do whatever style youre looking for in this shop. Phil and Mo are both totally rad.

Managed to walk in and get a tattoo completed on a Thursday while visiting Colorado. We were told that it can often be hard to get a tattoo while walking in without an appt. The whole crew acted professional from the time I walked in until four hours later when my wifes walk in tattoo was completed. I now have a nice keepsake to remind me of my trip and of Rising Tide. Then a terrific guy like Danny gives you more ideas and options. Its like a dry-run...stage the location, size, and placement. I really like the discipline to detail at Rising Tide. Rising tide and their artists have been there for over 14 years. This tells me they like what they do and have many repeat customers. This continued Proof of Performance helped my confidence. Theyre cool people! But the shop made me pay $160 for a new tattoo. when I should have payed $100 - $130. A small tattoo also. Overpriced in my opinion. The tattoo came out okay, needs a touch up or something. But yeah, stick to your word when you consult your pricing...
