The only place I’ll go for piercings! I’ve had such great experiences here and I’m so so happy with my set up! Avery has helped me plan and execute my piercing dreams and I could not recommend her more. She’s helpful, knowledgeable, kind, and has a calm composure that makes you feel relaxed and comfortable in the chair. Can’t wait for my next piercing with her !!!
I cannot speak more highly of Mo. I was so nervous and she put me so at ease. I would’ve paid her 3x what I did for how amazing she was. She is a perfectionist in the very best way, so funny, and all around just such a sweet human being. I asked her a million questions and she answered every single one. Not only is she an exceptional worker, but an exceptional person. If you’re going to get anything done, do it here & do it with Mo. She will not steer you wrong!
I recently went in to get my second piercing from Avery Jade, she did her very first daith piercing on me. I was impressed with her professionalism, eye for aesthetics, and dynamic ability to find the right jewelry and in turn leave me with a beautiful piercing I will treasure. Highly recommend!
I got a tattoo with Braxton today and had a great experience! He was very friendly and did an amazing job walking me through the tattoo process, as it was my first time getting one. The tattoo turned out amazing and I will definitely be back!!
I found Tribal Rites on accident after my husband & I were basically brushed off by a guy.George is amazing!! He is an amazing artist with a steady and light hand.Hes my absolute tat artist now!!
The bad reviews about customer experience was not the case at all with me! everyone was super helpful. i got my vertical labret done and everyone was right where moe’s a perfectionist. even asked if i ever planned on getting a monroe to know if they should match it to my cupids or my septum since they arent perfectly symmetrical. all in all thanks moe! only thing i would mention is that they didn’t give me an aftercare packet so if you have questions make sure you have them written down. could’ve been because i have a good amount of other piercings but just be aware. whole appointment took 10 minutes super clean cool place :)
Male worker was unprofessional with me, went in to get my sons piercings removed as they were done without my permission on our trip to Texas. As I tried to say many times, the father of my son did them regardless of my protest. Male worker went on to say that hEs hiS dAd which is not a good excuse, at all. Any reasonable piercer would know to not pierce a child under 18 years old. My son told me himself that he was forced to. All we wanted was for them to remove them WITHOUT the sarcastic comments and uncomfortable environment.
10/10 experience, all employees incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Jay has pierced me twice now, and I have been very happy with the piercings and experience!
I am going to tell my friends and family about Tribal Rites Tattoo & Piercings . This is such a great place. Andrew Hewitt is very talented, and his skill set is amazing. I needed to have my tattoo fixed and he took the time to understand exactly what I needed. There is a friendly face to meet you at the as you walk in the door. There is definitely a relaxed but professional vibe. The shop is in a great location right right off of Pearl Street. The most important thing I noticed is how clean this shop is. Everyone had gloves on, the needle was opened in front of me, and I watched everything get sanitized before I sat down. I was definitely impressed! I cannot stop looking at how beautiful my tattoo is now.
Andrew did my ghost tattoo on my wrist and it was one of the best tattoo exspirenences ever! Super cool dudes to talk with, very clean and deff a safe space! 10/10 would recommend!
My sister and I are in town from NY and we wanted to get matching tattoos. We both have other tattoos and have a very high standard as to who we let put ink on our body. Right when we walked in the door we knew it was a good place, VERY clean and other tattoo artists and the front desk staff were awesome. Nate was AMAZING. Considering booking a trip back to finish my half sleeve with him. Alot of times people just tattoo for the money but his passion is unbelievable. To anyone in COLORADO or anywhere looking to get tattooed I would recommend Nate over and over. He made us so comfortable. Stayed late with us and made sure everything was perfect. He is very easy going but will make sure you get exactly what you want. He sat down with us and really listened to what we desired. Thank you so much Nate, good luck to you and everyone else in that shop. Hope to see you all soon!!!
I like this place ngl. It got cool vibes. My sister got her nose pierced at this place and they were kind enough to give juice and put a fan in front of her to ease her. The employees were kind and I think the prizes were pretty cool too.
I was a walk-in customer and Tawfaz did amazing and walked me through the whole process! Super reasonable prices and great environment! This is my second tattoo and my biggest one! So happy I went here!
Andrew killed it with these tattoos! Great service, great price, great product! I’ll definitely be coming back to get my other ones here!
Very helpful and accommodating! My artist was Jorge Rivas and I quickly fell in love with his work because he has a serious dedication to making sure the client gets what they want, but also providing input and suggesting additions and improvements that ultimately make the final product look more incredible than first thought possible! His laid back approach instantly disarms the stress of even the most anxious customer, and he is willing to talk through processes that clients are curious or nervous about! This review is after two tattoos with hopefully more to come! If I could give 6 stars I would!
I absolutely love Tribal Rites! I went in to get my first ever tattoos on both wrists and loved the entire experience from start to finish, Everyone there was super kind, laidback, supportive, and professional. Zac (the artist) is absolutely incredible at his work and creates beautiful artworks, I couldn’t be happier! Special shout-out to Zac, Lacy, and Ben! I absolutely recommend Tribal Rites to anyone (both newcomers and experienced veterans) looking for a Grade A tattoo to go to Tribal Rites! I promise you will not be disappointed. Thanks again guys! Much love ✌️😊Edit: June 23rd 2022.Just got another two amazing artworks from my friend Kenny at Tribal Rites, he is Amazing! From start to finish I barely felt a thing! And I am beyond words for how much I love my new additions! Kenny is THE guy to go to if you’re interested in getting some fresh ink, incredibly professional, kind, courteous, and has a Midas touch, I barely felt these additions due to Kenny’s expert hand. Thank you Kenny!! Couldn’t be more grateful and proud to have your work on me man! Much love to everyone at the shop! ❤️☮️😊Edit: June 26th 2022Got some fresh ink from Cres at the shop! He absolutely nailed the design and the intricate coloring! I couldn’t be more impressed and grateful for this artists work! He’s absolutely fantastic and he’s just one of the many artists that I’d absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a tattoo. Thank you Cres!! I’m so happy with this ink!! 😁🙌
Braxton did a good a job at making me feel comfortable and with the placement and the quality of the tattoo. I appreciate the efficiency and the energy he had.
Jorge did an amazing job and was super nice! It was closing time when we walked in, Jorge was about to take 2 beautiful women out on the town, but instead decided to stay late and do me and my wifes tattoos. Everyone there was really cool and the service was great, will definitely recommend and re-visit next time I am in Boulder. @freshinkartistry
Update (part 2): It was not mentioned in my lengthy review below but, my conch was pierced with a hoop. I was given the option, knowing having a hoop will be harder to heal but I liked the look more. Several months had gone by and it still wasnt healed so I was interested in getting a stud put in. I went to a local (Durango, Co) reputable tattoo and piercing parlor to pick out the stud. Then proceeded to go to a different shop to have it put in (the first store piercer was out). The very guy who changed it was awesome but thats besides the point. He pointed out that the orbital my conch was pierced with was way too big in circumference for how small my ear is. Also he was unsure of the gauge size so he measured the ring with some device that tells the gauge exactly. The gauge turned out to be in-between a 12 and 14. You know what that means, CHEAP jewelry. I highly recommend not going here if you dont want cheap jewelry, and a potential bad piercing experience.Update: Although I had some problems with my piercing, Mike responded to me and took care of the situation very quickly! He contacted me, talked to me over the phone as I voiced my opinion. He was concerned and handled everything kindly and made me feel more comfortable about my piercing. If you need anything - contact Mike he’s the man. He went above and beyond my expectations. Great customer service!Original review:***Tribal Rites gave me a traumatic experience. please read the lengthy review because i never want anyone to experience the trauma i went through1) piercing artist cleaned my ear then marked it and it wasn’t the right spot, so i asked them to move it higher. everything was great until they aggressively grabbed my ear and tried to put the needle through my ear but the piercer wasn’t strong enough so my ear was jabbed multiple times.2) they received a phone call during my piercing session and left the needle in my ear while answering the phone call. three to five minutes later she returned without washing her hands, changing her gloves, or doing any proper sanitation procedures. This was not my first piercing, i have multiple piercings and i have never had such a horrific experience
I got a tattoo with Braxton at the Boulder location and I had a great experience. The customer service was great and he was very accommodating with the design I wanted. This was my first tattoo and I could be happier with the outcome! Overall a great experience and I would 10/10 recommend!
Super cool people. Very sanitary. Would definitely recommend.
George was really kind and professional when I went to see him last month. He drew a beautiful rose as a tribute to my grandpa. George was honest with his opinions on size and shading, and checked in on me during the process. It was painful so he used some numbing spray to help me out a little bit. He is 100% the person I will go to when I want a new one.
Braxton did a great job on my chest piece. He has great energy and is super down to earth and comforting. Wants what is best for clients and will work to make sure they are happy!
Taphas is an awesome human! Customer service was awesome and the whole experience was very professional and great! Strongly recommend coming here.
I went in on a Monday evening to try to get a few new pieces of body jewelry before leaving for a trip. Tribal rites is always a little more expensive than I expect but, Im always happy to pay for a good service and convenience. I didnt have time to get any jewelry before my trip online so I stopped in assuming I could get something. I stood in the lobby for ten minutes without even being greeted or acknowledged. The employees seemed more interested in chatting with each other than helping a customer. My partner and I were there for at least five pieces of jewelry and would have happily spent our money in this store. Ive had a few mixed experiences before however this will be my last visit. They will not get my business again.
In my opinion the shop, its staff, and their attitudes are all nasty. I left and went to IRIS where all of my needs and expectations were met. I encourage people to visit Tribal Rites in person, so that you may quickly assess for yourself what this place is like. I neither have the time nor the vocabulary to fully describe every nuance of this dismal dour dump.
My daughter and I decided to get our first tattoos while in Boulder to make our trip together special. We went to Tribal Rites and Andrew was the artist we chose. He was amazing! He was so patient with us and especially with me since I could not decide what I wanted. He was honest about some of my ideas and steered me in the right direction. It was a wonderful experience and we both love our new ink! Place was clean and Andrew was meticulous and just a pleasure to talk to as well. Highly recommend! Thanks again Andrew!!!
Clean, professional, and amazing work! I was a walk-in and was extremely happy with my tattoo. I highly recommend Amanda!!
Ive been coming to this shop for a couple of years now for tattoos and piercings. Each experience has been nothing short of exceptional.Taphas, the counter man/tattoo apprentice has helped make every appointment be stress free and manageable.Jason has given me several piercings which he made all quick, precise and nearly painless. Every employee I have dealt with is pleasant and experienced. I see myself using their services for the foreseeable future.
Got my septum pierced by Mo and I love it, she was very professional and had a great kick back vibe, took all the nerves away with confident reassurance. I look soo cute!! I was in a really bad mood walking in, and left in the best mood ever.
First off lets talk about Moe she is the greatest. Took my daughter to get her ears done and she was not only knowledgeable but personable and professional throughout the whole process. She even fit my friend and I in for walking eyebrow piercings that we did not have appointments for while we were there we watched her run the whole shop all by herself she deserves employee of the month. I must have seen her pierced 15 people in the time I was there yesterday all while running the store by herself amazing service.
DO NOT GET A TATTOO HERE.My friends and I called ahead to see if they had openings for the day and they told us to come in, so we did. Each of us were getting small tattoos so they said they could get it done in 2 hours before the artists next appointment. After 2.5 hours of stenciling and the artist spending more time talking to their co-workers, we started placing the stencils. The artist was adamant that two of us should not get the designs on our arms, so the placement was changed to the back of the neck - in the moment, we trusted his recommendation. He had the two neck tattoos lay face down on the table instead of doing it standing up... End result - The two pieces DO NOT look like the stencils AT ALL. They are completely disformed and WAY too much ink was used. First of all the shape is incorrect, but now the tattoo lines are bleeding into one another. He also mentioned being high to the receptionist when tatting the last person? NOT OKAY AT ALL. Lastly, he bandaged one of the neck tats up before we could see it.We gave the shop a call and they blamed it on us moving and not sitting still which was not the case at all. All of us have multiple tattoos and know the drill. They said there was nothing they can do and it was our choice to do them and to give it two weeks / were very rude on the phone.Fast forward 8 days - We all went to different tattoo artists just to take a look and hopefully provide comfort, however not the case. High level feedback from the new artists were: 1 Back of the neck tats should not be done laying down. 2 A significant amount of extra ink was used and the needle was pushed too deep in the skin. 3 We are better off scratching at / picking off the tattoos as they heal for any chance of being able to cover it up because the lines are too heavy.Overall, extremely disappointed and would never recommend this place to anyone. We were denied a refund or any kind of help for these disasters.
I had body piercings done by Mo here and shes the best. Knowledgeable, comforting, and good conversation. My piercings were surprisingly painless and are healing very well so far. The studio is clean, professional, and they know what theyre doing.
I was very nervous to get my ears pierced, and then I was calmed by my piercer Mo. They gave me all the information I needed to take care of the piercing and made the entire experience amazing! I sincerely recommended Tribal Rites.
I went in yesterday to get a tattoo with my friend both wanted our first one and we waited for about 2 hours… which was fine.We told the tattoo artist what we wanted when we first came in and he agreed, and then we were handed paperwork 5 minutes before it was time to get it done. Which we could have been working on during our 2 hour wait. I didn’t mind waiting 2 hours at all we really wanted a tattoo and have heard great things. But the customer service was sadly bad and very disappointing. Getting your first tattoo should be a fun memory and experience but it wasn’t… when it was my turn the artist said “i don’t even want to do one on you at all i’m exhausted” and he only agreed to do one. I would’ve left but then again i did spend my whole evening there… but he DIDNT do my friends at all. I think it would’ve been better if he warned us from the start he was tired and to come back another time.He was super snappy and very rude. And seemed just so annoyed we were even there. I get me walking in 10 minutes before closing and being annoyed but we waited 2 hours and then he just slapped a band-Aid on it and called it good. he didn’t go over any healing or cleaning procedures at all… Will not be going back
I originally had a bad experience with a specific piercer at this location and the piercing manager, Liz, quickly called me the next day. She was very nice and assured me my experience was not up to their standards, apologized, and offered me a refund on my deposit. She was very professional and kind and I really appreciated her effort to fix the situation ! The only reason I’m giving four stars is because of the original experience.
Super impressed with our service today. Taphas was very helpful in informing us to make a decision on what types of piercings to do. They were great in accommodating a group of us, both with appointments and walk-ins. Jay did my piecing and I absolutely loved it! I loved the placement of it and it was quick and painless.
Nate Smalley provided tattoos for my friend and i. He was fantastic! Very kind and patient with us, but most importantly provided exactly what we asked for. Thanks!
Got my rook done with Benny D and he was absolutely awesome! Totally communicative, professional, and comforting. He also helped me pick out cool jewelry and gave me tips on healing previous piercings. Would definitely recommend Tribal Rites.
I got two forward helix’s pierced here at the beginning of March and they have helped me with any issues that have come up as a result of masks and things. They’re always around to help with questions and their staff is extremely helpful and friendly. I got my nose pierced with them as well a few years back and another cartilage done at another location and there’s nowhere I’d choose before them for a piercing. I recommend them to friends every time.
I got a lip tattoo by Taphas and was so excited for it. He told me that he did them often and was very good at them. After getting it done I was so upset by the result. I went to a different tattoo place and showed them my tattoo and they said it was not in the right place, too deep, and would stay for the rest of my life. I have to do the MOST for someone to see it and when they do, it just looks like a blob of ink. I am so disappointed by the result especially that it is permanent instead of only being there for a few years.
Mo absolutely made my day. Booking an appointment was super easy, the staff was friendly, shop was clean. Mo is experienced and exact, I will absolutely be returning to her for more piercings. The best piercing experience I have ever had.
Awesome service, good and laid back conversation with Braxton. Braxton had a light hand while making sure to do a thorough job getting the ink in there. Awesome experience, will definitely be back!
The people at the boulder location on the hill are awesome! I went to get three piercings with them and they took great care of me. Everyone is super friendly - the guy at the front desk helped me pick out piercings and gave some good advice on them! The piercings themselves were quick and painless - I got two lobe piercings and a helix! Overall great place to get something done!
Went in last minute for a fun birthday tattoo designed by a friend. Braxton (IG: @braxtontat2) was very accommodating and did an excellent job! Super friendly and it’s exactly what I was hoping for!
Ive been getting my piercings here for the past 2 years and they never failed to impress me with their work. The place is very clean and sanitized and the staff are amazing. Taphas at the front counter is super friendly and welcoming. He talks you through the whole process and is very honest about whether you should get the piercing or not. Honestly this is the only place i feel comfortable getting pierced by and would 100% recommend.
Awful place. Wanted a special tattoo that had a lot of meaning to it, and was denied because he didn’t feel “comfortable” doing it. WEIRD. Very disappointed in this.
Would not recommend... Got a new piece of jewelry from here for a helix piercing and it fell out within 2 days. I told the piercer who put it in that it was too tight and they told me it would stretch. Instead it just fell out unexpectedly and the money was wasted. I went back to explain what happened and the front desk lady and piercer basically told me it was my fault even though theyre the ones that put it in. Not to mention this is the second time a piece of jewelry from this store has fallen out. I also spent money on expensive naval jewelry and it fell out within weeks. Disappointed with the customer service and the quality of items at this store. Really wish they were more understanding and accommodating to their customers considering the pricing. I literally feel like theyre just trying to take your money at this point considering the employees lack of compassion for their customers- especially a profession like this one.
This place is amazing. Everyone I interacted with was helpful and friendly. I got a custom piece by Tommy. I sent him a couple references, he drew up a sweet design, and we discussed it (details, style, placement, size, etc). We got it done timely and perfectly. While tattooing we had great conversation, and when we werent talking LOR and awesome music was playing. He definitely knows his stuff (from equipment to multiple styles). I will definitely recommend Tribal Rites and Tommy to everyone, and will be back if Im in the area again.
I’ve come here to get my Tragus and cartilage plus many jewelry changes and each time I am very happy with the outcome. The guy who usually works the front desk (I’m pretty sure his name is Thomas) is super friendly towards me every time I come and knowing he works 7 days a week I really respect his grind. They are always efficient and helpful. Would 100% recommend this place
They made me feel super comfortable when getting my first cartilage piercing. I was very nervous, but they made me feel welcome and safe. They clean the jewelry about 15 minutes before the piercing is put in. They tape down your mask so you don’t have to take it off, and they clean every surface before you sit down. 10/10 would recommend getting a piercing here.
Mo did amazing piercing my naval. She said she was a perfectionist, and she wasnt lying. Super happy with the results! Made my best friend and I feel comfortable and shes a great conversationalist. Highly recommend. Thanks again Mo!
I went in to Tribal Rites in Boulder on the advice of a few friends. I was not disappointed! Tommy was my tattoo artist and I couldn’t be happier with his work. The guy is a pro and an extraordinary artist! The entire crew was welcoming and friendly, even taking time to watch my progress and tell me how great it was coming along. I’d absolutely recommend Tommy and the Boulder shop to anyone looking for a clean, professional and fun shop for their next piece!
During the time of COVID I felt completely safe in the shop. Everyone was taking the CDC guidelines seriously and Tribal Rites has always been super clean and professional. David was my artist and was very nice and answered all my questions. I thought the pricing was very fair and I love my new tattoo piece so much! The colors are absolutely perfect!
I would not recommend this shop to anyone!I had tried to book online for two of us to get a piercing each. I called the shop to make sure my confirmation for appointment went through as it had charged my card twice .They were short and rude on the phone and said just go to the website.Upon arriving, the first thing that was shouted at me as I entered the shopt was DO YOU HAVE YOUR MASK! as if Im unaware of covid (mind you I am an RN that is well educated on our certain situation). I had forgotten mine, so needed to go buy one, which is fine that was my fault. We walked in and never got a greeting, just what are you doing?do you have an appointment, which obviously we did? They look up the appointment and just stick jewelry in front of our faces. One of them then decided to say the one piercing was going to hurt and take a long time to heal. So then my friend had second thoughts about getting a piercing and then decided she didnt want to. Which we had paid for her deposit already. I would have left the shop the minute after I walked in if I hadnt already paid 30$ for the two appointments I booked. They were rude and rushing her to make a decision when we had two appointments booked out and hd plenty of time.THe wait took forever to just get my nose pierced and the TV on was BLASTING and the workers were eating food right there just spread out on the jewelry stand.THey were not inviting or supportive of anything and seemed to care less about the service they provided. THe piercer was also very short and rude and I would never go back to this place.Absolutely terrible customer service.
Me and a friend were just passing through Boulder and spontaneously decided to get matching tattoos for her birthday. Tommy did an AMAZING job creating exactly what we wanted, even though we didnt have an appointment! His work is awesome, and he did a great job with the thin lines and details. Everyone was super nice and accommodating. Go there!
Got a small, basic tattoo from Amanda and had a great experience. She was on time, friendly and did a wonderful job. She made some helpful suggestions but made it clear that if I didnt like her small modifications she wouldnt be offended. This wasnt my first tattoo, but I would definitely recommend this place and Amanda for first timers. It is very relaxed and everyone was friendly. If I decide to get another tattoo while in Boulder, Ill definitely go back!
The website was very easy to use. I made my appointment with no issues. The website messed up my friend’s appointment, but she called and they were super helpful. I got a septum piercing. The service was very professional. The piercer was nice and made it hurt less. The whole thing was very fast and easy. The equipment was clean. I highly recommend this place.
Ive just been tattooed by Tommy and he was amazing! I was a little nervous since the tattoo was on my ribs, but he was super understanding asking how i felt and telling me to let him know if I need break. He asked questions to make sure i was getting exactly what i was looking for. the finished product couldnt be any better.. i love love love it. Everyone in this shop is very professional and friendly and the shop just SMELLS clean when you walk in which is awesome. Id recommend this shop to anyone! GOOD WORK GUYS! :-)
I brought my teen daughter to get an ear cartilage piercing. The service was unfriendly and rushed. They told me I was not allowed to accompany her back (I assumed for covid reasons). The man who did it did not take his time, make sure it would be in the correct spot or treat her with any care. He was eager to go on break. It took less than a minute, was not in the place she had wanted, and she left feeling traumatized. It was a horrible experience and she ended up taking out the piercing. I do not recommend this establishment! I do not write poor reviews but I could not let this go without warning others.
I had been contemplating on a nose piercing for the longest time. Did my research and decided to hit up Tribal. Was gonna go to Westminster, but Boulder was closer. Went in and everyone was very professional, especially with this pandemic going on. Side conversations were hilarious. Jason did my piercing and lets just say i was in and out within 10mins. He marked the spot, let me look and did the work. He was very kind and amazing! Will definitely be back for more. I have to say, the negative comments scared me, but Jason was more than i expected! Thanks a bunch!! Keep doing what your doing Jason!!
Ive had an idea of what I wanted for a couple of months now but I wasnt sure of the size of the tattoo. Andrew was incredibly patient with me in getting the sizing and angling right and I couldnt be more happy with my tattoo. It was also great to talk to Andrew and Frank as I got my tattoo done. This was my first one and it was just a great experience. As long as Im in boulder, Tribal Rites will be my shop of choice. Thank you so much guys!!
Excellent place! I went in to get a nose piercing and was very nervous about it, having had some bad piercing experiences in the past. The staff was very friendly and the place was clean and professional. Chris did my piercing and he had the best attitude and personality! He talked me through each step, and never did anything without telling me first. He did a wonderful job at keeping me calm. I would recommend this place to anyone, especially first time piercings, and will be returning for all future piercings.
My niece went into the shop to get her piercing done during COVID when they still had their only sign up thing. When you make an appt and read what it says, it says the amount that you paid for the appointment will be the amount deducted when paying. That did not happen. My niece was nervous and they took advantage of that. I tried to email them to tell them about this problem and they just ignored me. She even gave a 20$ tip to the piercer but the guy that was charging her charged her THE FULL AMOUNT without deducting the appt fee. It wasnt until she came back the second time and asked if the appointment price will be deducted. Other than that, the front desk guy was so ignorant. four stars for the piercer, but if I had to give a rating to the place itd be a one. Absolute awful service. Takes advantage of people.
I got my first tattoo here and naively thought you could go to any tattoo shop and be happy with the results. First of all, the tattoo I got was on my hip, meaning I had to pull down my pants to get it done. The guy did not close the blinds to the shop when he told me he did, leaving my entire lower half exposed in front of the entire window for anyone to see as they walked by. As for the tattoo, he pressed too hard into my skin, making the tattoo blowout. Not to mention he was very rude to both me and my friend! Will NEVER COME HERE AGAIN!!
Ive gotten several piercings and Tatts here, theyre the only place on the hill I trust. I got a big spine piece and my artist Kenny was so patient since it was my first big one. He did a super clean job and I couldnt be happier with it!
Don’t come here for any piercing/jewelry needs.Just to start this off, I absolutely LOVE the Tribal Rites in Fort Collins. Chad did my nose piercing at that location over a year ago and it’s been perfect.I just recently moved to Boulder and decided to go to the Boulder location to get a nose ring switched out for the stud I’ve had. It was a quiet day in the shop and I was the only customer in besides 1 person getting a tattoo. I proceeded to tell Jason what I wanted and was only treated rudely. When Jason then put in the ring, he pulled extremely hard and it was pretty painful. He put the wrong size gauge in my nose even after I told him the correct size. (I wear an 18 and he put in a 20). He used an old and potentially dirty plastic bag to put my stud into, see the picture I posted. Then, when I went to pay I was going to use a tribal rites gift card (which I showed him before I picked out the ring), then when I went to pay with it he told me they don’t accept them. I then had to pay with card and wasn’t offered a receipt. Literally no good part of my visit here. I would rather do the hour drive to go to the Fort Collins Tribal Rites than come here again!
To preface, I have gotten multiple piercings prior to this at a professional shop in Chicago. My experience at Tribal Rites was far less professional or enjoyable. I went in to get a rook piercing, and I was only behind one other customer. The shop did not seem busy, but my piercer (who never introduced himself, but I think was named Jason?) seemed to be in a huge hurry to get me in and out of the shop. When I walked back in to the room, he did not greet me in any way; rather, he pointed me into the chair and asked which ear was being pierced. He quickly marked my ear, and without giving warning, pierced my ear. He never showed me any of the equipment being used in the process or the actual jewelry, which was unsettling. He engaged in no conversation other than an extremely brief spiel about aftercare, and then sent me on my way. Overall extremely displeased with my experience at Tribal Rites, especially with the expectations I had going in.
Went in to buy an earring last weekend. The male worker (long hair and really tall) was incredibly dismissive and rude. He only answered my questions with grunts and nods and then walked away while I was talking. If you are looking for a positive shopping/ piercing experience I would not recommend this tribal rights.I will say tho the girl that was working was nice… so there’s that.
I have gone here 3 times. I had my septum and nostril pierced, as well as my nose ring changed. The septum was done well by a very kind man. The nostril piercing and nose ring change were both done by a taller long hair young man. He is incredibly unfriendly, will barely talk to you, and does not care at all about causing damage. He pierced my nostril and gave me a corkscrew piercing so tight my nose had to be ripped open some during getting it out. To ensure this did not happen again, I went to another store. They gave me a straight L piercing for my second nostril piercing, which I later decided to have changed here. This piercing should have been in no way, shape, or form difficult to remove, yet he managed to rip part of the piercing hole open more taking it out, then jammed the new one in. I have 9 piercings and have gone to many different stores, but have never had the absolutely horrendous service that you will get here.
I went in to get a tattoo with Taphas on my wrist. The tattoo is fully healed now and is patchy, too deep in some places, not deep enough in others to where it’s already fading. I went to a different place to get it covered and my new artist said it would be illegible in 2 months.
I went to Tribal Rites today to get a tattoo of a quote on my upper inner arm and the entire experience was completely amazing. My tattoo artist was Amanda and from the beginning of my time there to the end, it was great. The tattoo looks really beautiful and Amanda was a really nice person. All throughout the procedure she was asking if I was okay, and having an actual conversation with me. During my tattoo I mentioned another tattoo that I had wanted (a small one on my wrist) and she said I could get it that day for only a little more, so I got that as well. Then I also was talking about my first tattoo and how the artist I got it from (at a different tattoo shop) said he couldnt darken it anymore for some reason or another, and Amanda says she could do that for me as well! All in all, I got tattoos in three different places and they all look completely amazing and exactly how I pictured them, if not better. And the price was amazing as well. I would definitely recommend Tribal Rites to anyone looking to get a quality tattoo in a great environment!
Benny D is awesome!! I finally decided to pierce my nose and it was one of the best experiences I have ever had. He was very safe and sanitary with everything and was very friendly and personable. I will definitely be back for all of my piercing needs! Thank you Benny!!
Came here for a basic earlobe piercing, and received great service and results! Mo was a great help, and did great work. Will definitely recommend, and reach out whenever in need of more work.
Tribal Rites is the only piercing establishment I go to. Sam is the best piercer I have ever had; he is confident and patient, always willing to help with placement decisions. My industrial piercing was originally done at another shop, refused to heal, and I had to remove it. Sam was able to repierce it for me perfectly, and it has healed completely with no issues. The shop is spotlessly clean, and the staff are always considerate and professional. The prices are right, and jewelry is always great quality. This piercing shop is the only shop I recommend!
I had a really great experience last week at this piercing studio ! Everything was very clean and they have changed due to COVID-19 protocols very well and have kept the business running efficiently. I was helped by CJ and he was really pleasant and helped make the whole process quick and efficient. I have had no problems with the healing of my piercings and will most certainly go back soon to get more piercings !!
I took my daughter into Tribal to have her ears re-pierced, as they had grown over and we could no longer get her earrings in. The staff were very sweet and explained everything to us. She was a bit nervous at first but they did a great job making her comfortable. In the end she only needed her ears to be re-stretched and it only cost about $10. We had a great experience all around, I would definitely recommend. Thanks guys!
My husband and I were both walk in tattoos, and Tommy (who did my husbands tattoo) and Amanda (who did mine) were both so helpful, friendly, and amazing artists. We were in and out in about 2hrs. The work done is absolutely amazing. The next time we come to Boulder, well be visiting them again.
I scheduled my appointment online weeks ago and the day of my appointment got a call saying I needed to reschedule which was highly unprofessional. I called ahead to make sure they had the pieces I needed in stock and when I got there I was told they only had 1 of the 2 pieces because they never set one aside for me. I was then invited into an unclean piercing room with sweat from the last person still on the chair and when I mentioned it the piercer said nothing. I was changing out jewelry and the harshness of the piercer made it feel like a whole new piercing. Tribal Rites is highly unprofessional, unclean, and disrespectful to patrons. 10/10 would NOT recommend coming here!!
Walked right in and was pleasantly greeted by Jake & Jason. They were both very helpful with getting all my paperwork done. Nate fit me in before his first appointment and did an amazing job. There was not fruit involved in our encounter either. Thanks for a great experience guys! Well be back!
Just got my third lobe piercings today. Jason did a quick, swift job, was practically painless (just normal puncturing-skin feeling) and clearly skilled. I was a little bit nervous and there was absolutely no reason to be. He was very calming and professional. I look forward to returning for more!
The best tattoo experience that I have ever had! I walked in as a walk in client. They were super easy to talk to and the environment was super comfortable. After talking for a bit and I had told them I had 16 tattoos in total, they asked to see all of them and then I showed them a really poorly done peace sign on the back of my neck that I knew was bad but all my friends kept assuring me that it wasn’t as bad as I thought. They made me feel less crazy by saying that it was a really poorly done tattoo & that they would do everything that they could to fix it. I was almost in tears by the time that I had looked at the fixed tattoo because it was SO incredible how Andrew managed to fix it. So not only did they fix the worst tattoo I’ve ever had and made it exactly what I wanted in the first place, Andrew also gave me the most amazing tattoo of a few mountains and matched it exactly to the style I like and kept it consistent with the style of my other tattoos. I HIGHLY recommend Tribal Rites tattoo shop.
Tommy has been my artist multiple times. He did an amazing job of a portrait of my sister and now has started my Polynesian pattern sleeve. Tribal Rites has always been fun and professional when I go and Id recommend them for any tatts or piercings! Thanks and mad love to Tommy and his crew.
I made an appointment with Jay S. and even though the shop was a little behind that morning this man absolutely crushed it.This was my first dermal as well and on top of taking mad phone calls Jay was able to pierce a small flock of college girls, clean the entire area down to pandemic perfection and empathetically walk me through my neck dermal. I understand he’s prolly done more piercings to count but it means a lot that Jay still handles his patients with care, because for many people this can be scary or emotional moment. If you land a bad piercer it can leave bad memories too. I guarantee this will not happen with Jay. Over a week in healing and my dermal looks amazing.Super clean and professional. Love this shop. Thank you!
A group of us scheduled memorial tattoos for a dearly departed sister. The guys at Tribal Rites did a great job and were professional, especially dealing with covid precautions. I love my tattoo and highly recommend this location.
I’ve gotten 2 piercings from this business and have felt so safe and comfortable doing it! I was able to tell them exactly what I wanted and ask any questions or concerns I had. Love this shop. Super friendly and welcoming!
TOMMY- tatto artist at Tribal Rites did a piece for me that was my very first! Incredibly intricate detail, not to mention his service was kind and sincere. I highly recommend requesting Tommy when you go in, but overall the staff was super kind and the tattoo work was a 10/10. great work, lots of options. Im from Wisconsin, would recommend them to anyone.
I just went into Tribal to speak with a piercer about my unhappy snug piercing :’) i met with Jake and he was so educated and helped me make the decision to remove it. He was patient with me and gave me many options about how to go about my piercing. I really appreciated his truthfulness and kindness. I would recommend him to anyone !!
The shop receptionist was really rude. When I asked if I could get a hoop starter nose ring he said no and proceeded to make a comment how hoop rings are lame. My piercing ended up getting 2 bubbles and never healed. When I came in to get it removed the piercer was really condescending about it. I emailed them to tell them all this as well as tell them I was overcharged and they only responded to the part about me being overcharged. Guess they dont care about all aspects of customer service.
I appreciate the patience & expertise of the staff, but I wasnt asked about piercing placement (I didnt even realize we had moved from marker to needle) and Ive ended up wasting time and money on a piercing with a placement I dont like :/ if you go here, make sure you ask before you get marked, I guess.*Update. Ended up unable to be ok with the piercing, went somewhere reputable to get it taken out. Weirdly enough it just felt wrong to have a body mod that I felt I had my say taken away from. Your piercer should ALWAYS ask, people
I went to Tribal Rites for my first real piercing when I was 18, about 5 years ago, and was so impressed by the clean, professional and friendly people and environment that I didnt have to think twice about where I wanted to go to start stretching my ears about 4 months ago! Every time Ive gone in to move up a gauge size, Sam has helped me out. Hes very professional and quick, which minimizes the pain. Hes also very knowledgeable and answered my many questions with patience and kindness. I highly recommend Tribal Rites to anyone who is interested in piercings!
This was my second attempt with this shop and dear god it’s always been a let down. As someone who has multiple tattoos already, I had a friend recommend Amanda and when going in to talk and collaborate on my tattoo I got resistance, not just resistance but it felt like even after me showing her photos there was a lack of actually wanting to do it. I figured it was we aren’t on the same page kind of deal so in hopes it would work out I held a spot.... well I just happened to find an artist who was way more confident in what I was wanting and was wanting to collaborate.... two days before my tattoo Amanda was informed I wasn’t going to be coming in and I may not get my Deposit back even though there was two days notice. I wasn’t sure if I was going to the right artist or not as all my original artists have left Denver. So I gave it a try as others have recommended her but alas lots of resistanc and a lack of collaboration is what made me switch.... me finding someone who was stepping forward with the best foot is important and I know I am at fault of even holding a spot but she was highly recommended by a dear friend. I truly believe tattoo artist should collaborate and step outside their zones some times and I was def let down. I have high standards so maybe that’s part of it but being a massage therapist who understands this kind of trade and money I get it but don’t just take my money when you may not feel confident or aren’t going to put forth your best foot.
I just started my sleeve, Ive been working with Tommy, and I would highly recommend anyone interested in getting a tattoo to come see him. Very knowledgeable great to work with and he does great work. As does the rest of the tribal rites artists. I Highly recommended them if you are looking for a tattoo or piercings.
GREAT EXPERIENCE! I went to get my belly button pierced and as a plus sized girl I was afraid to be judged or turned down but I was very welcomed. Very professional and cleaned compared to the piercing place down the street 😬. The piercer was quick and straight to the point but very nice and professionalThe girl at the front desk told me about my Jcurve ring and showed me my options and helped me bling out my ring. It was all very very nice! Definitely go here!
Jason and Jake were so awesome to deal with!! Very polite and professional! I had Jason pierce both my lobes @ 4g. And I am not sure if they were more excited or I was! I will be back for labret, septum and anywhere else I need a hole :)I went on a Tues around 3pm and it was not crowded :)Thanks again both of you!!!Jennifer
Honestly this is the only piercing shop I feel comfortable going to and I trust them with anything they are super clean sanitized and professional. They are very honest and will let you know if they could actually pierce the piercing you want or not and help you with each decision. Taphas is amazing and friendly he was so helpful He talked us through everything explained each step.I am such a scaredy-cat but honestly they hype you up in anyway they can and assure you that its fine. As Taphas once said. “ it won’t hurt as much as your ex”😂. Honestly the best support system you could need.
Tophas and Jay were super great! They were helpful, knowledgeable and made us feel at ease. This was a work bonding experience and they even got in a couple people in our group who didnt make appointments. Totally recommend!
I have only good things to say about this place. David Robin specifically. I walked in and was able to make an appointment for the next day. I told him what I was looking for and he was extremely realistic with the placement and angles that it needed to be. He did not trace anything he just drew it on my leg. He is truly an artist. I have gotten so many complement from his art work and I can not praise this business enough. I do want to remind people that I did get custom work and that custom as well as anything that is done well will cost more but in my opinion it is totally worth it. To have beautiful artwork on your body is a privilege to me.
Thank you Carlos Haas for making my time in boulder Colorado memorable!! On a road trip around the west and he fit my boyfriend and I in for tattoos as a walk in on a Sunday!! His work is wonderful and he is very friendly!! Probably the most thoughtful tattoo artist I have had yet!! Thank you again. Next time Im in boulder I know where to come have a tattoo done ;)
Getting a piercing in Boulder is tricky as a lot of places act like they are gods gift simply based on location. After a bad experience at a different shop, went here and was pierced by Jake. He had a great vibe, was quick, friendly, and made sure my piercing was in the right spot. Cant speak for other piercers there but he was great.
DON’T COME HERE FOR ANY KIND OF PIERCINGS. I have never been treated so rudely by a person in my entire life. I came to Tribal Rites because I heard that this was the best place to get piercings in Boulder from a local..that was far from the truth. I had initially scheduled an appointment to get my Tragus piercing changed & I had called earlier to see if I could also get a piercing during my appointment. The guy who helped me when picking out my jewelry was very short with me and my friend as we were deciding what we wanted. It seemed as if we were getting on their nerves for just being there. Jason was the one who pierced my ears and was the one who treated me terribly. He started to get irritated with me because I didn’t know which jewelry was for what ear (they were both diamond studs). I got the piercing I wanted which was fine besides him not really giving any warning. He said “breathe in and breathe out” and did the thing. But when it came to switching out the tragus he touched it for a second and said it wasn’t healed yet. I said that it had been a little over 6 weeks which I was told it could be changed. (It had actually been a little over 8 weeks) He said “NO. It has to be at least 3 months before you can change this” in a very snippy tone. I said “you’re kidding” as I was shocked and he says “Why would I be kidding!? I’m a professional” also in a very rude tone and I apologized because I didn’t know what else to do. I don’t understand how his attitude towards his customers hasn’t changed after seeing multiple other poor reviews about him. He may be good at doing piercings but he is terrible with how he treats and talks to his customers. I wish I hadn’t overlooked the bad reviews because they are true.
They were quite rude when I went in for a consult. After calling ahead, I came in and went straight to the front counter where I told them who I was and why I was there. The woman behind the counter, without looking up yelled who wants her and both the available artist replied with not me. Once they argued over who would talk to me, the artist I did talk to was very condescending. I left and never came back.My bother said his experience was similar to mine, but due to lack of time went ahead and got his tattoo done there anyways. The artist did not show him the final design on his back before beginning the tattoo, resulting in the WRONG bible verse tattooed.
I got a small tattoo with Tommy here about a year ago when he still worked here—it was a walk-in for a sort of cliché “roommate bonding” type of thing. He was super friendly and personable, and if you check out his Instagram you’ll see he has tons of artistic talent, but he didn’t look down on the small/simple tattoos we chose and made us feel really comfortable!I tried to go back again recently, also a walk-in, but everyone was booked. I was sad not to be able to get soemthing new but everyone in the shop was still really friendly and the girl at the desk double checked with every artist and piercer to see if they could get us in, and directed us to the website for scheduling info before we left. I know walk-ins are always kinda dicey just because they’re so last minute, so I really appreciated the effort in trying to fit us in even though it just didn’t work out that day :)Will definitely be back sometime soon!
I came in with an idea of what I wanted for ear piercings and Taphas was super patient and helpful with picking out the perfect jewelry. Jason was the piercer and I could not have asked for a more professional and calming person! Definitely the best experience Ive had.
Tribal rites was a great place for first tattoo. Tommy worked with me to figure out the perfect design and was a great partner in the process (and an overall chill dude). Tattoo was finished no more than a couple hours after my consultation
Got my first tattoo here, and have seen multiple friends get piercings here. Very sanitary - this place is very strict with sterilizing equipment and being as clean as possible. My tattoo artist was accurate and quick. Did a great job and years later my tattoo still looks great!
My mom and I came in to get tattoos and were treated by a friendly supportive staff in a comfortable safe environment.Sadly it didnt age well at all. Didn’t seem like the artist was into the work.
My girlfriend and I came in as walk-ins on a Sunday, and Carlos fit us in to his schedule and even stayed late. He was very courteous, knowledgeable in helping us develop our ideas, and he executed the work fantastically. I would highly recommend him to anyone. Thank you so much Carlos.P.S. Great recommendation on the post-tattoo meal (Cosmos Pizza)
The male piercer with long blonde hair was the most rude person I have ever met. He yanked my nose piercing out and I instantly started bleeding. He then proceeded to be very rough and shove random things through my nose and then went on to tell me that my nose was to irritated. I wonder why.....
I LOVE SAM! Sam has been my piercer for.. god knows how many years now, and I wouldnt trust anyone else to do my work. He is absolutely amazing. Always happy to see me, his work is ALWAYS perfect, and he has this amazing ability to make even the most painful piercing feel like a day at the spa. Hes always there to help if Im concerned about the healing process, or if I have any questions. This dude is the real MVP. Ask for Sam next time youre craving a piercing, I promise you that youll leave loving him as much as I do. Sam, you da best. (:
Ive gotten my navel and septum done here in the past three months and I can safely say I wont go anywhere else. My piercings were done by the dude with the large septum ring. He was very patient with me when it came to centering my navel piercing (I have OCD, so Im particularly annoying) and talking me through everything. Great service, awesome staff, and perfect piercings.
I went into the store with a friend to get a price quote on the tattoos that we wanted. We were really excited, but as soon as we walked in the guy we spoke with was very offputting. He was slumped over and was more concerned about eating his orange than answering our questions. When we asked how long it would take he told us that it would be quick and then got even more annoyed when we clarified if that meant 5 minutes or 30 minutes. We left the shop not only feeling like our business was unwanted, but feeling like we didnt want to get our tattoos at Tribal Rites anymore.
Tommy and Amanda are where its at! They helped out me and a bunch of my friends, took the time to design and make sure you were satisfied with your art before it was forever there. They helped me understand how i can make my idea the best tattoo Ive ever seen and Im really happy with my results.
I had been wanting to get my nose pierced for over a year, and am so glad this is where I did it. The piercer was beyond kind and interested, and genuinely cared about my piercing, which isnt always my experience with piercers and tattoo artists. Go in with confidence, this is a great place!
Theyre the best! I had a different shop in Longmont (not the other TR) royally screw up on my philtrum and give me questionable advice that ended with an embedded piercing; which Mo fixed beautifully and painlessly for me. Definitely wont be going to anyone but tribal rites from now on. 🙌
Worst piercing service I have ever experienced. I went in for a simple change of my jewelry because every time I attempt to put in my nostril ring, I bend it incorrectly. I have had my nose piercing for over a year and it was completely healed. The piercer was aggressively trying to put in my jewelry, not slow and gentle in the slightest. It is now bleeding and extremely soar. The jewelry was the same gauge as the one I had in before that. What was supposed to be a simple switch, ended up in a backtrack of my piercing healing process.
I have been here a couple of times now and have been very unsatisfied with the service provided. The first time I came here, I got my nose pierced. The piercer pierced my nose crookedly and then took almost 10 minutes and multiple other needles to correct his mistake which was incredibly excruciating. Had I known that he was going to do such a simple piercing wrong, I would have gone elsewhere. The other times I have been here the piercer (different guy) was incredibly rude and short with me and my friends getting pierced. He acted as if we were burdening him by coming by to get pierced and paying him for it! I do not think I will be returning to this location simply because I do not feel comfortable with the way that the piercers act and the rushed piercings make me nervous that they will mess up. The only reason that I am slightly satisfied is because the guy who works at the front is very nice and helpful and has always given me all necessary information and answered all of my questions.
Had my daith piercing done here, went really well and no problems. I would say to those visiting be sure you are happy with who is chosen to complete your procedure(s) as the very informal setting did make a few staff appear more confident than others
I had a great experience getting a nostril piercing here. Tyler was extremely pleasant and is really good at getting you talking about yourself to distract from whats going on. I love my piercing, and the high quality jewelry they recommended.
I have had 24 piercings done by tribal rites over the years. Mainly all in different parts of my ears, but also had my naval and tongue pierced by them and had 2 dermals removed. I highly recommend tribal rites for their professionalism, skill, knowledge, cleanliness, and customer care. All of piercings have healed perfectly and I attribute that to them. For a while, I also had issues with some of the balls on my earrings coming loose. They often replaced them for free and helped tighten everything up so I haven’t had any further issues! It’s a delayed review as I haven’t been back for a while (I’ve kinda run out of room for more haha), but I have had a lot of people ask where I got my piercings- and always recommend tribal rites! Figured I should post it online too!
I called ahead and still had to wait for a while, about 30 minutes. The guy who tattooed me was kind of rude and not very welcoming. I got a small tattoo on my leg, and he did it beautifully, but the service was little unwelcoming. Besides that, I am happy with my piece!
Came in for a nose piercing, and had an awesome experience! I was pierced by Jason, and taken care of by T at the desk. Both of them were so friendly, and I was in and out with no issues. I Will definitely be back!
My friend and I were looking forward to get our first tattoos and immediately were greeted with the rude, uninterested artist. We showed him our designs and he wouldnt pay attention to us and continued to eat an orange instead. When I asked for timing estimate he said, uhh pretty quick, even we asked for a specific time reference. Not going back there. Super rude and unprofessional.
I went in to get my lobes redone as I thought they were closed. Mo Bowman was AMAZING and tapered them along with my nose back open and gave me jewelry changes. She also pierced my partners helix and was quick, professional and knowledgeable!!! I love this place.
My piercer was Benny D, he was extremely helpful and explained everything he was doing, and the person at the front desk (not sure of her name) was extremely friendly as well! I highly reccomend this place for any piercings you want, its a wonderful place with wonderful people!
Its difficult because everyone here was nice and SEEMED like they knew what they were talking about. Little did I know. I got my nose pierced there and everything seemed fine but it was a little weird placement. 3 weeks go by and I have a big bump on my nose and I looks nasty. They tell me that its ok and normal and to keep cleaning it. Then two months go by and it isnt any better. I decide to go to another place to get it checked out, where they tell me the placement is wrong, and I shouldnt have gotten it pierced directly with a hoop. They take it out and clean it when they decide that if I want it to look at its best I should get it placed in a different spot. They do it and everything seems better than before. Expect now I have a weird bump where my old piercing is.
My 7 year old recently had her ears pierced. These guys were pros. Tyler was kind, funny, professional and skilled. He took time with her (and the 3 of us there with her) and did a beautiful job. Brilliant! So glad they use a needle instead of a gun.
Got my nose pierced here about a week ago, they were so fast and nice about it. I also got to take a good look at their tattoo books and will definitely be back in the next week or so to talk about my first piece. Super excited!
Beautiful shop with friendly and helpful staff. Jason did a great job with my septum piercing and Taphas was super nice and hooked me up with a free bottle of aftercare cleanser. I highly recommend!
Had my ear pierced by Benny D and he was fantastic! Service was fast, staff was friendly, and Benny was very knowledgeable about the industry. Will definitely return! Thanks!
Nate was great. I am a disabled veteran from the Desert Storm era, and for more than twenty five years, Ive wanted to get a USMC tattoo with the eagle, globe, and anchor on my upper left arm. Not only was Nates design exactly what I wanted, but exceeded my expectations in every way! Nate Smalley is a very personable, professional, and talented artist, and I will recommend him to anyone I know from now on. Not only that, he did a beautiful mountain scene tattoo on my Daughters wrist on the same day, and she loves it. So, nothing but high praise for Tribal Rights and Piercing in Boulder, Coloado. Thanks again Nate for a great experience!
Fantastic shop, amazing people! I recently got my first tattoo (a rather large piece) from Tommy Sisneros and it was a great experience - rather painless! Check out Tommys work, hes a great artist: Instagram ninjakixxtattooIll definitely be back.
I went in yesterday to get my belly button pierced and when I first walked in the lady at the front desk was nice and it seemed very clean. I then got called to the back to get my piercing. I sat in the chair and the guy asked me which ear Im getting pierced. At first I thought he was kidding cause I came in to get my belly button done, but he was serious. So I told him I actually needed to get my belly button pierced. Then he put the dots on my belly button and I felt like it was a little crooked so I told him and he just explained my belly button was crooked. Overall the guy was very rude to me, and kept making other comments throughout the experience. I probably wont go back here.
I got tattooed by Braxton! Super personable dude and very talented. Overall, had an awesome experience.
This was fantastic work for a SUPER tiny piece. I worked with Tommy. Although he is good at his job, be prepared for an awful attitude. I hope it was just a bad day because the Douchebag attitude is enough to make me never go back. Also beware of the ditsy girl that works as a secretary, she is as air headed as they come and will not help and is happy to charge you extra because she is neglectful of the price in front of her and asks you to pay whatever it is she thinks is appropriate.Totally suggest for the work that is done there as you are not goI got there for customer service, but patience is key for this shop.
Got my ears stretched here and bought my girlfriend some new earrings. Prices are high, but the staff is very helpful, knowledgable, and friendly. Two other places I went were going to let me stretch my ear with bone, which I learned at Tribal Rites could cause the jewelry to fuse to my ears... ouch. I had some problems with my new jewelry 10 minutes later, walked back in and they immediately took me to the back and fixed it up for me, even though it was minutes from closing. Will use again for all piercings.
After looking at the art in the portfolio provided there is no way i would get a tattoo from here. Blown out lines and colors not punched in. If you want the art that they will do thats great for you. For me however if I see your portfolio and see nothing but blown out lines and colors not punched in its a major down fall for me. Then when I explain what i want you tell me Im better going somewhere else because thats not what you do. If you cant do a good tattoo of your own style theres no way you can do a good tattoo of anything else.
My piercing lasted about a minute with minimal pain or discomfort. Chris (the piercer) talked me through the entire process and was patient with my nervousness. Id definitely recommend Tribal Rites as a place to get your first piercing.
Went into Tribal Rites to get a septum piercing this summer in late August. The man who does most of the piercings was a little rude, and when I was scared of the needle he brushed it off like it was no big deal. The piercings are pricey, and I paid about $70.00 total for it, which was okay if he wouldnt have SCREWED IT UP. Yeah, after he pierced it was like oops, sorry its a little crooked. IT was insanely crooked and definitely didnt look decent, and he acted very unprofessional about it. I still was made to pay full price for the crooked nose ring. Effing stupid. Dont go here unless you want a crooked facial piercing youll be forced to pay full price for.
Got my first ever piercing here and the staff was very kind and clear on what the entire thing would consist of. Would definitely recommend
I feel like I got ripped off, I was charged $60 dollars for a filled in heart, smaller than a dime located on my wrist! It took less then five minutes! Ive gone to different shops and they also think I got ripped off. They were really nice and its clean but I wouldnt go back.
I went recently to get my nose pierced, and the experience was wonderful! The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable, and the shop was clean and well-organized. Ill definitely go back if I choose to get anything else done in the near future!
Got my industrial barbell done there. The staff was really helpful and were really happy to help my friend and I, i also met with an artist to talk about my first tattoo. Definitely going to go there again and going to recommend to others.
Benny D was a 10/10 piercer. It went by so quickly and virtually painlessly- I could not have asked for a better piercing. Also he’s just a good dude.
Love the double piercing I got at Tribal Lol i yes! Staff cared about making my piercing just to my liking and was helpful through the entire process. Would totally recommend for piercings!
It’s the best place to get a piercing! The staff are so professional and friendly especially Taphas he’s the best! I got two piercings and it wasn’t painful at all. They’re amazing and I’m definitely coming back again!
Excellent Work by Tommy! We (my husband, son & I) were on vacation and decided to get a permanent keepsake. Tommy did a seriously great job on all 3 of us. We definitely plan on going back next year!
So, this happened: guy was about to pierce my teenagers nose and he wasnt wearing a mask so I asked him, as he was prepping her, whether he was vaccinated and he said no. I asked him to put on a mask and he said he didnt have one. I asked him to please go get one and he said we dont have anymore. The manager was there and seemed completely indifferent about the pandemic and that his unvaccinated staff is putting their faces right up close to clients without masking. Very disappointing and irresponsible. Needless to say we left.
I like my piercing, service was fine but this place is seriously overpriced. I feel like i wad gauged, not pun intended. It isnt necessary to pay this much for a hole in your face. Id recommend Freakys on the hill for much more affordable service and jewelry. Staff there is much more personable and friendly.
I went in with some close friends and we each wanted different ear piercings. The pricing is to be expected at any shop and the employees were organized and fun. We all got quality piercings and left happy with a great restaurant recommendation nearby.
I had Mo for my piercing and it went excellent! Quick, clean, professional, and very kind. Absolutely would go here for future services and recommend to others!
Great experience with T today while waiting for my piercing. He is such a character and had us all laughing. Perfect person to help ease the nerves.
Ive gotten all of my piercings and tattoos here and its pretty awesome. Very professional and clean, got a walk in tattoo from an awesome artist with a great attitude, beautiful linework and competitive prices.
I had $40.00 dollars stolen from me by Tribal Rites. They claim it was an employee, but who should be responsible for their employees? Tribal Rites should! Long story short, the owner didnt want to take accountability and pocketed my $40.00!!Please be aware and be careful.Peace, love and namaste :-)Mickey S.
Just got tattooed by David yesterday and he did an amazing job! I brought in a rough sketch of a traditional american style tattoo I wanted and David turned it into a work of art! Definitely will be going back for more!
The people here are very rude, it’s like they don’t even want you there? I went in to buy a nose stud, I asked them to explain the difference between the studs and the guy just gave me an attitude. Also piercings are way overpriced, just because we’re college students doesn’t mean we all have a lot of money. Don’t go here at all!!!
I got my tragus piercing there today and they did amazing everyone was nice they helped me calm my nerves and he kept talking and just did it! Had no pain! Will definitely go back there for my future tattos and peircings
I’ve been to the boulder one and Westminster location and the staff at both locations are always so nice. I’ve done all my piercings through them and will come back anytime I need to get something done.
Had Jason put in my industrial that had been out a few months, he was quick and professional which was super nice. All the piercings he has given me have been great.
David was my tattoo artist & I loved him!! It was my first time getting a tattoo & he made me feel so comfortable. Amazing staff & fabulous service!
Andrew did my work, phenomenally dude. Super informative and well-versed. Frank was a great dude too, very friendly. Only qualm was the kid that checked us out, bit snappy and rude. Well worthwhile though.
The guy who did my tattoo was very rude calling my tattoo basic and sub par. He then reschedules me three times in one week, twice in one day putting other appointments at the same time. Then when I finally can get my tattoo he messes up some numbers. Very bad experience, and will never be going there again.
Ayyyye! These guys are dope! Super chill and professional! Went in for a simple Helix piercing and had a very enjoyable experience! Well definitely be back for more!! Thank you Liz for the perfect piercing! 👽
Taphas and Jay are AMAZING! My piercing was fast, easy and the shop is very clean. They were a delight to work with. Thanks guys!
Tribal rites is dope. Tophus and Jason totally helped me figure out what size my nose ring was after having it out for almost a year. And it didnt hurt when they put it back in. I was hella hyped when I left. Will definitely be back.
I found some awesome body jewelry here (◕ᴗ◕✿)and I plan on returning for other services in the near future (*❛‿❛)
Nate did a tattoo for me today and he was super nice and patient. I sometimes get intimidated by tattoo artists but he was very approachable and professional. And I love my new ink :)
The service for piercings depends wildly on who is working. Some are friendly, some are sullen. They pierced my cartilage and changed my nose ring. Its a clean shop and its reasonably priced.
Had the pleasure of working with Frank Simanton yesterday at Tribal Rites. He did a fabulous job creating what I imagined to pay tribute to our little lost soul who can now forever fly. Words cant describe the symbolism of his art and every time I see the beauty of what he created, it fills me with joy, hope, and sense of peace. Thank you, Frank, for helping me turn a heart-wrenching moment of my life into one of harmony. I will always be in your debt. Namaste.
Frank at Tribal Rites never disappoints! A great artist with a great personality and is so fun to work with. His tattoos are top notch!
Taphas, Jason and Andrew are the crew! Very nice, funny and professional. Great jewelry selection and they helped me with all of my needs! Great place to visit!
Horrible customer service. We were looking to get a piercing done and begin discussions about a sizable tattoo.Unfortunately we didn’t get past the piercing conversation before we walked out. There is no way I would trust this place to do this kind of work.
I came here nervous about getting my first tattoo but Tommy took my idea and came up with a design I’m proud to show off. Extremely professional and amazing artist, I can’t recommend Tommy and the crew here enough.
Great, timely service, helpful recommendations. I was in and out in 15 minutes, even though they were under staffed they were still incredibly efficient and made my first facial piercing a breeze!
Excellent costumer service, everyone is super friendly and helpful. They have some amazing artists, thanks to Amanda for an awesome piece! Will definitely be a returning costumer.
Me and my friend we went together and we did with Kenny, he is very nice and calm guy we just love him , we come again for sure with more friends ☺️ thank you again ❤️
Ive gotten my ears and nostril pierced here, and recently got a tattoo from David! I cant recommend it enough! Every experience has been a great one!
Had the best experience with my nose piercing. everything was done professionally and the people are super sweet & nice. definitely the best choice !!
Got a couple small tattoos from Taphas, super sweet guy, amazing linework, just overall an awesome experience!
Taphas was amazing, first tattoo and I’m in love. Please see him especially if you want color.
These guys are real helpful. I got my ears done out of state, but went here to get them taken out, since the studs were stuck. They did it quickly and painlessly, and didnt even charge me.
Frank is so awesome to get a tattoo with! My first tattoo and he couldn’t make it easier for me! I definitely recommend this shop! Going back for my next one!!
They told me to come in for an appointment and then said they were busy after having time for me i spent 30$ there to get nothing. Horrible service. Horrible shop. Not sure how to respond as I dont write reviews. The money i spent was on a cab getting to this spot with info i couldve been told on the phone. Waste of time money and life.
Got a beautiful sunflower tattoo by Andrew and couldn’t be happier. Great artist and was flexible with what I wanted. Definitely going to come back for my next!
Store was very clean. Staff were having fun with each other and were very professional and knowledgeable with my piercing. Great atmosphere 10/10 would return
I got my Tragus pierced at the westminster location and the guy had no idea what he was doing; compared to other tragus piercings it took excruciatingly long. After about seven months I came to the Boulder tribal rites to get my tragus barbell changed. The piercer, in addition to rushing as fast as he could to change my priecing( even though I was the only one there and it was no where near closing time) could not get the barbell I wanted in so he put my original earring back in. I think the attempted changing of the earring might have hurt more than the piercing itself. After paying the $5 changing fee I went home and later that night cleaned my piercing only to have the ball COME OFF. He didnt even properly change it so that it was secure!! I will never go to another Tribal Rites again.
I loved the guy in the front and the guy that periced my ear, but I didnt like that he didnt really allow me to look at the placement befor he began to perice me. I thought all perciers let you look at the placement befor doing it. I was alittle disappointed with the placement and I wish I had said somthing befor hand.
Frank is amazing! Ive referred so many people its going to start being tough to get an appointment! Thanks for all of your beautiful art Frank.
Got my nipples peirced by mo and it was legit the best experience. Quick, simple, and shes super patient.
I went in for piercings and left with a tattoo appointment too. This place is super professional, clean and friendly. Jason was excellent.
Nate did my friend and I’s matching tattoos. He was super patient and did a great job! Seriously my new favorite tattoo.
Horrible service. Waited an hour and a half over our scheduled appointment time while the artist chatted with walk in clients. Do not recommend unless you have a lot of time to spare.
Dont waste your time. Complete rip off. The employees were rude and didnt want to take the time to help my needs. Charge twice as much for jewelry than other stores. If I could rate 0 stars I would.
The artists are super talented and work well with their customers! Clean shop and friendly shop people! Definitely coming back for more from David Ronin!
Jay is great very professional and personable, I love his work. The shop is clean and comfortable I enjoyed my time there.
I really liked the piercer, Jay. They did a great job and I will definitely be returning for more piercings.
Walk in customer today. Great artists (Kenny & Tawfaz). Would highly recommend. Great shop & Environment
I visited Tribal Rites and spoke with Jason Condon. He was very nasty, unprofessional and rude when seeking information about interest in navel piercing.
Very fun environment and peopleWe felt very welcomed and the piercing was quick and efficient but very well done.
