East Main Ink is the best shop in Montana, hands down. They specialize in all kinds of styles, sizes and fonts!Every artist here is incredibly talented and dedicated to making sure you leave with exactly what you want. I’ve received many tattoos here over the years and have left with nothing short of a great experience, and a beautiful tattoo.10/10 can’t recommend enough.

Mr. Aye is amazing! We came in with a group of 5 around close. We were expecting more artists and thought we were going to have to come back. But Mr. Aye stayed an extra 2 and a half hours to get all of us done. He did amazing work. I live in Washington and will be coming back for more. Thank you so much! Sorry for the late night.

A friend and I are visiting the area and we planned on getting some tattoos while in town. I found East Main Tattoo and really liked the styles of each of the artists. Max did my tattoo when we walked in. He took a photo of the design that I had done, which is a combination of different symbols, and asked for each of their meanings. He surprised me by double checking all of the meanings while he was getting the design drawn up on his tablet. I really appreciated that, and loved the attention to detail not only in the design, but also to what he was putting on someone’s body. Baker did my friends, which was a simple script font that another friend had created. Baker easily took it and made the simple modifications that my friend wanted. They both turned out so well. Thank you!

Brendan’s now done 2 of my tattoos and I couldn’t be happier with how they turned out. He does it quick, detailed, and listens to what you ask for. Most shops you feel awkward and like you don’t know what you want, not here. They listen and it turns out even better than what you wanted. My vine and red tat both done by him and I’m obsessed

Went there for some ink on our last day of our honeymoon and Aye hooked us up with some amazing work. Made us feel comfortable and is an awesome artist. Shoutout to Dale, young max and Baker. All great artists and a great atmosphere!

Artist: BakerEast Main Ink has always been top notch! I started a leg sleeve with a different artist but he was unable to finish it. After deciding to have it finished I was fortunate enough to meet Baker at East Main. Upon scheduling my first tattoo with him he had no issues with taking over and completing my leg sleeve. Now a little over two years later we’ve finally completed my sleeve hip to ankle and I couldn’t be more stoked about it! Baker and the East Main gang have always been very welcoming and easy to work with. It took close to 20 appointments to finish this piece and I never had to wait very long for an appointment. Baker has become famous for his walk-in schedule so appointments can be scheduled within a week or two. I am very impressed with his quality of work and the prices to go with it! I will definitely be going back to see Baker and the East Main crew again!!

This crew is awesome!! My fiancé and I were in town & have been wanting to get this sentimental tattoo for years. They got us in as last minute walk-ins and we could not have been more stoked. The atmosphere is top notch & every person in the shop has great energy. Brendan gave us exactly what we were looking for and was so kind. I walked in at 4 on a Friday to get some work done. They said they could get me in, so I sat in the parking lot for four hours, and then they closed and said they couldn’t get me in. I get not wanting to take work on a Friday afternoon, but it would have been nice if they were up front and honest about it.

I love the walk-ins only on Friday/ Saturday. Just make sure you are there early enough to secure a spot. Baker does excellent like work and is very efficient. I will definitely be coming back. Waiting area is relatively small so you may have to sit outside.

I had an incredible experience getting my first tattoo at East Main Ink. I had heard great things and decided that I wanted to get my first tattoo done there. They did not disappoint! The studio is incredibly clean and the team is great. All the work I have seen is beautiful, they give great aftercare instructions, and the pricing is very reasonable. I had a sentimental necklace turned into a lovely fine line work. I will be going back to get it touched up and will probably be back for more! Highly recommend East Main Ink to anyone looking to get a tattoo in the Bozeman area.

I got my tattoo done by Brendan. He is an amazing artist as this is one of my new favorite tattoos. If an easy going attitude and good conversation is what you are looking for, this is your guy. It was an all around solid experience and I will definitely get another tattoo from him.

I’ve now been to baker, brendan, and Dana and I couldn’t be happier with my tats. They listen to what you want and the end result is even better than what you expected. I got my first big piece by Brendan and in a visible spot, and it was exactly what I asked for. His work is absolutely amazing and makes the process very comforting and easy. He’s overall an amazing artist and I recommend this shop over any other in Bozeman. Dana did my tiger and it is EXACTLY what I asked for. Not to mention he did a whole tiger in an hour because he knows his technique so well. Exactly why they’ve got so many damn awards in there!!

I was really nervous going into my appointment, as it was my first tattoo. i am SO glad i did it. Baker was amazing! i was in and out in about an hour, and the environment was super comfortable and not as intimidating as i thought it would be. the tattoo itself is EXACTLY what i wanted, and it was an extremely reasonable price as well. I will definitely be coming back here for my next tattoo!

So I got wind from a few friends about this hunk with a beautiful beard that does tattoos here and let me tell you I wasn’t disappointed. His name is Dale Hobbs and his work is outstanding not to heavy handed and checks one ya to make sure you are good or need a break. The bonus (for some) is every once in a while you get a nice little tickle from his beard. Really makes you feel special. Definitely going to make the trip back again to the shop and him.

Got tattooed by Brandon at East main!! Such a nice guy and super professional when it came to the tattoo, I was a terrible canvas and just kept moving, and Brandon didn’t say anything, just made sure I left with the best tattoo possible. Also helped keep me at ease by talking and singing and laughing the whole time. Will definitely go back to get a custom piece by each of the guys!

Me and my girlfriend came in as walk-ins around 4:00 on a friday and they worked us in right away and we got done around 7:30 ish. Our tattoo artist was the owner Justin and he did an amazing job! It was both our first tattoos and he worked up our designs really well and got both of us done in a timely manner. He was very authentic, kind, and helpful. Great atmosphere and very kind people all around. The pricing was more than fair for the work. Will definitely go back for future work.

The best in town. Every artist here is about their job so much so that whatever you want from the experience you get. I could sit in this shop all day and never get bored we have the best conversations. Max has to be my favorite, he makes the experience something to talk about. Truly never fails to make my day. Not only that but getting a tattoo just makes you feel hot and I always feel that leaving the shop but to be fair if it was up to me i’d never leave. You have to give them a chance of at least one tattoo and from there they just have you in a hold, next thing you know its the only shop you go to. You have me as a loyal customer for sure and i look forward to getting tatted up with you guys!

Ive been tatted multiple times by Aye at East Main Ink and he kills it every time! I wouldn’t get tattoos anywhere else in this city! Only tat shop in town that does walk-ins and definitely the best traditional tattoos in town.

Stopped in for a “souvenir” while visiting from Minnesota. Baker did my tattoo and was friendly and professional. I’m very pleased with my new Bison tattoo and will definitely go back if we are ever in the area in the future.

My family and I were visiting friends in Montana and on a whim decided we wanted new tattoos. We had called many places and nowhere was willing to take us. We were leaving Bozeman and just happened to drive by East Main and pulled in. The guys were extremely welcoming and awesome. There were 3 of us getting tattoos and all a little unsure of what we wanted. We were all helped and the staff was very patient with us as we decided what we wanted and even gave great recommendations. We ended up being paired with the artist, Brendan, and he was wonderful. He was extremely professional, and clean yet conversed and cut up with us. He was extremely accommodating to my brother who was getting his first tattoo and made sure to ask him if he was comfortable and 100% happy with everything before he began tattooing. We are all extremely pleased with East Main, go check them out you won’t be disappointed!

I have no problem with the tattoo shop as a whole. But I recently went to a new artist there (aye_tatz on insta) and I did not have a great experience. He is very talented, but very frustrating to work with. He fought with me about the designs because he didn’t like it?? It was causing some major anxiety and in the end I felt like a burden and stupid. The tat overall is fine but still needs shading. The real kicker is that he charged me 300$ for a tat that should’ve been 150$ - 200$ MAX! I’m sure others had a great experience with him but not me…

Justin is excellent. Hes done two tattoos for me, one being drawn by my wife and one he drew up. Both are great. Most importantly hes so easy going and gets the job done.

Had a great experience with Baker! As a woman, it’s a little nerve wracking going into an all male tattoo shop, but I felt very comfortable at East Main Ink. Baker did a great job on my tattoo and was very kind. I will definitely be back!

East Main is awesome, I got my first three tattoos there and I absolutely love them. Brenden did two of them, and he’s great, it was super clean, a good vibe, and it is just overall a great tattoo shop. 10/10 recommend, I don’t see myself going anywhere else in the near future for my tattoos.

I recently got my first tattoo done by Brendan and I am extremely happy with his work. He was patient, personable, and professional throughout the whole process and answered all my questions. The vibe in the shop is laid back, but its easy to tell how seriously this crew takes their craft. Brendan did a custom drawing of my tat while I was in the shop, and took the extra time to make sure I was perfectly happy with it before we started. During the tattooing process, he made sure I was comfortable and was more than willing to let us take a few breaks. It was obvious he wasnt rushing and wanted me to walk away with a quality piece of art. I couldnt be happier with how it turned out! He took my idea and elevated it to something special. He communicated well, let us know what we were getting into and got both our tattoos done in good timing(not too fast; not too slow). I scheduled an appointment with Brendan. He was very punctual. He did multiple of my tattoos and did an amazing job!I felt very comfortable with him and he listened to exactly what I wanted. He was both friendly and professional. Brendan over exceed my expectations.The shop was clean and overall a great atmosphere. All of the artists had amazing positive energy and made my experience enjoyable.I definitely would recommend Brendan.

Called ahead of my visit and was told that depending on what tattoo we want to get, we would be paired with the appropriate artist for the style of tattoo that we want. When we got there, we were laughed at. I guess we don’t look like their typical customer. I wasn’t even asked what tattoo I was considering. They said to come back tomorrow….

Justins artwork is beyond amazing. He is friendly, skilled, and very fairly priced. You are a fool if you get a tattoo anywhere else in Bozeman.

I have gotten three tattoos from here total and with the first two, I had amazing experiences with Justin and Baker. They were both very willing to work with me on my designs and were very kind and patient with me. They were both walk ins and I was able to get them done quickly upon walking in. For my most recent tattoo, I went in with my boyfriend to make an appointment as we both wanted tattoos and I knew that there has been a high demand recently. We went in two weeks later for our appointment and nobody was there. People finally showed up 30 minutes later and Brendan had completely forgotten about our appointment. I showed him my design and he informed me that he would not be able to do it that day because it was a cover up and would take longer (fair enough because I hadn’t made it clear that it was a cover up when making the appointment). My boyfriend wanted to go ahead with getting his so he showed some sketches he was thinking and described his ideas but Brendan was not willing to work with him on his design at all and wound up just drawing him up a very basic design that was not really what he wanted. I then made another appointment for the next day. When I showed up the next day, he was still tattooing his precious customer so I waited for about an hour to find out that he had again forgotten about the appointment I had made the day before. After about an hour and a half he started drawing my design based off the sketch I had designed. He informed me that he would only do part of it because he had walk ins he needed to do after me even though he had forgotten about my appointment. I asked about a part of my tattoo that he had completely left out of his stencil and he reluctantly agreed to add it but didn’t even show me the sketch on my arm before he started tattooing. Overall I am happy with the way the tattoo turned out, but very unhappy with the service both me and my boyfriend received and disappointed in the artists unwillingness to work on design with me and turn my sketch into the tattoo I wanted. Overall a good shop and I have had some really good experiences but I was very disappointed this last time.

East Main Ink was amazing. My daughter and I popped in for a couple of script tattoos. The shop itself is welcoming, super clean and friendly. Brendan (aka alphabet_killer) was incredible and made us feel so safe and comfortable while getting our first tattoos. I highly recommend him and East Main Ink.

Dale has been working on my sleeve. His work is stunning and I get compliments all the time. They do walk ins but if you want to get in I suggest you get there early. If you schedule an appointment you can get a lot of work done but you will probably get a date a few months out. It is definitely worth the wait.

I love this place! Baker does an amazing job with stencils as well as the overall artistry. The tattoos are always on point with the stencils. I go here because I know they will gladly do what looks and what they think looks good. ( which it always does ) I’d recommend this place to anyone who is getting a tattoo as well as people who enjoy humor.

I got quite a few tattoos from here, specifically Dana and Baker, and loved them. However, I probably won’t be coming back because their new artist Brendan made me uncomfortable and didn’t have any professionalism. I felt like he barely listened to me on my design (I was a walk in) and I didn’t get to see the placement and do any adjustments before he just started tattooing. He made some comments that made me genuinely uncomfortable and didn’t give me a good vibe.It’s unfortunate because I love the other artists there and their work but I’m not comfortable in there anymore.

I cannot say enough about my experience! The shop was very nice and clean, which was good. I got my first tattoo done here, and was nervous to say the least. Justin was amazing: he took the time to talk with me, and make sure I was comfortable. He answered any questions I had, and was very accommodating. Not to mention, the design he drew for me (which he was kind enough to change at the last minute) was incredibly beautiful and exactly what I wanted. Thank you so much Justin for making my experience such a good one!

There were two main issues with my appointment with Dana.The first, relatively minor, issue: I showed up on time, but Dana was an hour late and hadnt even started the drawing. So we didnt start tattooing until three hours after I showed up.The second, much bigger issue: Not sure why, but it seems like Dana really rushed the tattoo. The tattoo has lots of blown out lines, and I actually have quite a bit of scarring (which Ive never had before from a tattoo). I went went back to the shop four months later for a touch-up because the color hadnt held in several places---and Dana told me the tattoo was still healing (after four months)! Anyway, I decided to cut my losses and got it touched up at a different shop.Dana is a good artist, and clearly capable of doing really solid work---but I think he just phones it in some days. Pretty disappointed.

I had a really great experience here at East Main Ink. It was a Sunday and Brendan was swamped but he was kind enough to get me in for a small script tat that morning. What I liked most is he didn’t rush through anything or make me feel like he just wanted to get through it and onto the next tat even with it being so small. It meant a lot because I was getting my grandmother who had just passed that weeks’ name on my forearm. It was special and Brendan helped make it feel special. So thanks to him and East Main for making this experience a great one! Also, go follow him on Insta alphabet_killer ! His line work and other tats are amazing!!

Horrible experience, they do not care about their walk ins. They are all very talented artists; however, the person who did my tattoo busted it out in 12 minutes and when I looked down it was clearly not what I had described, and then he charged $220.He rushed me through the process of describing what I wanted, even though it was quite simple, assuring me he understood what I was talking about. But he did not seem care, and it became clear that he didnt care when he finished. So now I have a tattoo I hate and am $260 broker. Again, as far as talent goes they have it, If you make an appointment you will probably get better treatment. I just feel like I got robbed blind and kicked tot the curb and and this review is all I got.

Really great experience with all the guys at East Main Ink yesterday. Baker was my artist and I could not be more pleased with the way everything went. Everybody was kind, professional, and there was just a really nice vibe in the place. I think it is very cool that Baker saves every Saturday for walk-ins only, no appointment. I couldnt find any other place that could fit me in their schedule before July, so thank you!!

Maxx and the rest of the fellas were great to shoot the breeze with while getting the tattoo done. Was able to sneak in as a last minute walk in. They worked with my kids design and made it work.

Just amazing people that work here. Considerate and down-to-Earth. I had issues with my nose piercing yesterday and I went in only to find out they didnt offer piercing services anymore. Either way, they took care of me, helped me out and didnt charge a cent. I am so so grateful for their kindness. Definitely recommend. One of the better spots in Bozeman.

Having lived in several places through out the States, Ive visited several parlors. This one however takes the gummy bears! From beginning to end my experience here with Dale Hobbs has been a phenomenal one to say the least l! What an amazing artist and all around great guy! Id rate this place 20/10 Everytime! I debated writing a review of this shop for a while because I wanted to look past their mistakes, but my disappointment has overcome me. After months of planning, I picked East Main Ink because of their generally good reviews. I scheduled my session with Dale. The day of my appointment I arrived on-time to find the doors locked and the lights off. I messaged Dale and waited for a half hour. No sign of anyone at the shop. I left, only to receive a message later that he had been delayed and was on his way. Luckily, I was free for a few hours and able to return to the shop, despite being frustrated by the lack of punctuality and consideration. Dales drawing was a little less than true to the references I had sent him. I didnt realize until after he had done the tattoo. Following our appointment, I adhered to all of the aftercare guidelines, but within a few days, the tattoo was inflamed and seeping pus. I returned to the shop and explained that I have had multiple tattoos, none of which looked like this while healing. Dale completely dismissed my concern, condescendingly implying that I had no idea what I was talking about. Two days later I found myself in the doctors office with a confirmed infection and script for antibiotics. The parts of the tattoo that were infected are now faded and blown out. The tattoo isnt straight. Parts that were integral to its meaning are incorrect. I have home tattoos that turned out better than this.I am horrified by the brazen disregard for the experiences of their clients, the lack of cleanliness which resulted in infection, the absence of punctuality, and refusal to accept responsibility for their mistakes.

I’ve always known that if I ever got a tattoo, I would want it to be something meaningful and have to be perfect. I’ve been in love with Montana since I first visited in 2017, and I knew I wanted a tattoo that reflected that. I did my research and found East Main Ink and knew that during my next trip to Montana I would be getting a tattoo (or 2). My tattoos by Baker were nothing short of flawless. I have been following East Main Ink for a couple years now, specifically Baker (aka @ijustwantsomethingsmall). I’ve seen the work he does, and knew I could trust him to tattoo me with something so important to me. I was a walk in, and I can understand how the workers may feel rushed when taking walk ins (especially seeing how popular East Main Ink is). Baker took his time while creating the designs, made sure I got exactly what I wanted, and even complimented me on how great I did while tattooing 2 very painful areas (ribs and inside of foot). They are for sure the cleanest tattoos I’ve ever seen. I am so so happy with how they turned out, and will always make it a point to visit while in Montana. I highly recommend anyone, whether it be a first tattoo or 100th, to visit East Main Ink and get with Baker.As for the shop, East Main Ink gave off a great vibe all around. The place was clean, organized, and everyone seemed super chill and kind! Also, great taste in music if I may add lol. I had a piece done by Brenden at East Main Ink and it was a great experience. I am very happy about the artwork and it exceeded my expectations. It took some time but Brenden was very personable and the time flew by. I will be back to have more work done in the future and will recommend Brenden to anyone who asks me about where to go for quality work.

I was tattooed by guest artist Baker about a month ago. The staff at the shop were down to earth and friendly. I was nervous about getting my first tattoo but the entire experience was pleasant. My artist listened to my idea and was honestly even pickier about the design than I was— which made me feel I was definitely in good hands. I would recommend this shop to anyone in the Bozeman area looking to get tattooed. All of the artists here are incredibly talented.

Just like the website says, the artists and the shop are clean, classy, and professional. The tattoo Justin did for me is GORGEOUS. On my first visit he had 1) drawn me a beautiful rough sketch from a very minimal description I gave him 2) booked an appointment for me - all in less then 9 minutes. He gave me his full attention, listened to my input, and in the end gave me an amazing tattoo that healed well and is still radiantly colorful and clear. Totes impressive. Advice to any reader from someone who has been a few places: Never EVER - and you listen to me - NEVER go anywhere else in Bozeman. East Main Ink is the only place in the valley to get a tattoo.

David was the artist I got on walk-in day and he did not disappoint!! By far one of the best tattoo experiences Ive had and his work is beautiful. Definitely would recommend and would love to get more work done.

First time I went to Dale and he was amazing!!! He worked on the exact drawing I wanted and did it as a cover up! It turned out incredible and I was and still am super happy!Second time was a walk in and was referred to Baker! He was perfect for what I wanted and did fantastic line work! It was just as delicate as I wanted and turned out amazing 🥰 these guys have also done multiple tattoos on my husband and all are amazing.They dont dissapoint!!!

This is THE tattoo shop to go to. East Main is by far the best shop in the area, hands down. Dont even waste your time going anywhere else. All the guys there are talented. I have work by Justin and Julian, and I will never go anywhere else. They have phenomenal talent. I, unfortunately, have had ink done at many other places, and Ill tell you their art is the best, their lines are straight, they have good, clean equipment, and the overall quality is way above average. The guys that run tattoo shops can often be egotistical, obnoxious, and rude, but East Main is definitely the opposite. They will take you seriously, treat you with respect, and the outcome will be the best you can get. They are good guys here, and well worth the visit. Ill never go anywhere else.

Great place with an awesome crew. I know Justin and Julian well. Julian has done a lot of ink for me, including my sleeve and chest piece. Julian is very professional, extremely detail focused and has always pushed the envelope for my expected perfection. His art has a beautiful dark quality, which I can really relate to and appreciate. Ive gotten many tattoos here and have always been incredibly impressed. So much so that I have brought members of my family here as well. Justin is amazing at his job and just a genuinely nice person. It makes this place feel super welcoming.

I was just in here for a tattoo and the artists here are fantastic. I am from the bay area where there are some of the best around but unfortunately you always get the feeling that you are a nuisance instead of a customer with money to spend. Justin helped guide me with the idea I had and Ive got to say this is my new favorite tattoo, and I have quote a few in addition to a full sleeve. These guys will make you feel right at home, such a fun experience. I will definitely be back when I come visit Bozeman again!

Best of Bozeman is a well deserved title at East Main Ink. Not only is the artwork incredible, it transfers from paper to skin beautifully. The talent is diverse and the artists stay up to date on all things tattoo. I went in to get a small piece on my ribs and was very nervous to say the least. When I walked in there was nothing but cleanliness and professionalism, as well as a very friendly environment. I felt at ease immediately as Justin showed me what hed drawn up and prepped the station with clean, sterile equipment. Im so happy with what I got and will definitely be back for more soon.

After a weekend of birthday partying, me and some friends stopped in to get spur of the moment tattoos. Justin was welcoming and very accommodating and ended up staying late for us. I was in the shop the other day for an appt with Dale. Now I’ve heard about his amazing skills from a few friends of mine, but honestly I picked him just because he’s so darn cute!!!!!!!! I mean that beard alone is something dreams are made of.. Anyways, luckily for me Dale isn’t only an amazing piece of eye candy, he’s also an amazing tattoo artists!! He wasn’t even weirded out when I asked for a rather scandalous piece near my nether region (which turned out absolutely perfect btw). I highly recommend Dale for any and all of your tattooing needs!!

Went in for a walk-in today and luckily my friends had told me to get there early, Baker and Brendan are both very busy on walk-in days so if you do want to walk in ya might want to get there early, but they are busy cause they are worth it. Got my tattoo done by Baker and was more than pleased he did an amazing job and I would highly recommend him or any of the guys in this shop to any of my friends and I’m sure I’ll be back in the future to get a few more

This place is whats up! The atmosphere is friendly, clean, and inviting. I have been back three times this month to get tattooed by Julian. He is very thorough, detail oriented, listens well and his tattoos comes out WAY better than any paper version! I highly recommend him to ANYONE seeking a quality tattoo! If I could give 10 stars I would!!

On vacation and wanted to add to my “artists around the world sleeve” where I collect pieces done at places I travel to. Brendan took me right away for a walk-in, no wait. Phenomenal artist. Freehanded the letters perfectly and did even better when it came to the ink. Go see them truly best in town.

I got tattooed by Baker mid last year and it was an awesome experience. Super friendly and fast. Line work was perfect and couldn’t have been happier with the finished product. Check out East Main when you’re in town.

I have many tattoos and I Got my first sleeve done by brendan at East main ink and I am absolutely in love with with it ! All the artist there are so nice and do a hell of a job!!

My best friend and I came in for matching tattoos during walk in hours. We were very unhappy with our artist Brandon,(didnt know his name until I found him on Instagram because he did not introduce himself) we asked for a small piece on our hands. After ignoring what we had asked for, he drew up a sketch that would have taken up our whole forearm. We asked the price and he said $200. When we told him that we were quoted $100 over the phone he freaked out and started yelling. Ive never been called dude, and bro so much in my entire life. Finally I suggested typewriter font, and he agreed. After 10 mins of actual tattooing (we were there for about 3 hours) our tattoos came out, blown out. His bedside manor was horrendous. He was extremely rude and caty. The end result was a waste of $200 and most of our day. $100 for 10 mins of tattooing and blown out lines . We should have walked out in the beginning. Ive done better tattooing on myself. very horrible experience.

I had Justin do my tattoo and he absolutely knocked it out of the park! He made the whole experience great and made me feel very comfortable. Its also a plus how sterile they are here making sure everything is fresh and new each and every time. I would absolutely recommend these guys to anyone who wants a sick tattoo for a fair price.

I highly recommend Baker from East main ink. Definitely skilled in his craft. He took my idea and made it into something better then I could of imagined! I’m super happy with the tattoo he gave me. If you’re in Bozeman east main is the place!

I went in to set up an appointment to get my sleeve started. Luckily, Justin had a last-minute cancelation and was able to get me in a few days later. My trout turned ended up being even better than I imagined. I was able to easily set up another session to get it finished.

Stopped by this shop while visiting Bozeman from Denver and couldnt be happier! Thanks to Julian for managing to squeeze me in as a walk in and doing an amazing job! All the artist were super talented and professional. The shop was clean fun and I will definitely be back the next time Im in town!! Thanks guys.

Very disappointed with the service I got considering the great reviews this place has. My friend and I had called early afternoon to see if we could drop in and Julian explained he had a cancellation and if we came in at 3:30 he could get something drawn up and start tattooing with a deposit. We dropped off the deposit and when we got back there he started off with a short temper and when drawing it up he was throwing the template down and when he explained he couldnt do one part of the tattoo he was very passive aggressive while trying to help us figure out what to replace it with. Considering we had until 6 to get two tattoos done I was feeling rushed and know he was getting impatient as well. Plus with his attitude I didnt want him doing my work that day. When explaining we thought it would be best that we draw it up and plan an other day to tattoo he threw his pen down and said Are we tattooing today or what? Knowing the time it takes from my other work I knew it was going to be half-assed work to get both done. When leaving after being there for about 30 minutes he ended up keeping the deposit with no future appointment and gave us what he had drawn up which implies to me that he was over it and didnt want to do the work. It would have been different if he had a better attitude and explained politely that what we had in mind was unrealistic for the time we had or wasnt his style of work.

Amazing experience at this tattoo shop! Definitely the best of the best. Shout out to my girl Whitdogg and my boy JPmonee for setting me an appointment with Bakerbakerbaker aka steel oats. Also got a piercing from DaleDenton and loved Dananana the stand up comedian they recently hired. That dude with the Peter Pan shoes was awkward tho

Dana is a joke the most unprofessional tattoo artist I have ever met I show up for my appointment it’s not scheduled on the books. I reschedule appointment I show up for appointment and he isn’t even in town I’ve been trying to get this tattoo done for four months. How can you book appointments and then not even honor it more then once. I got my deposit back and I will never recommend anyone to schedule an appointment with Dana.

Dana took great care of me, fit me into his busy schedule and has always been on time and accommodating. The work he’s done on me is gorgeous, I’m proud to wear it and get compliments all the time. Thanks Dana!

I knew it would be more expensive in a town like this but not double, for a walk in. (Edit: meaning,, double what I would expect in other markets/cities, again expected it to be more, just not that much more for inconsistent work)The line art is fine. The colors are not only wrong but terribly inconsistent. My artist seemed annoyed with my existence, like what I asked for was beneath him. And okay I get it, after seeing his insta, it isnt his style. But I was a walk in, so whatever, I can look past that, if he did a good job. It still has another week and a half to heal fully, so maybe something magic will happen. I doubt it. But now I have to shell out more to have it hopefully have the color fixed after it heals, which I dont know if it will be possible.

Got my first tattoo here and I’ve come back for every other tattoo since then! Tattoos are super good quality, I’ve always gotten exactly what I asked for. Bonus points for the guys being absolutely hilarious :)

I called and asked if the piercer was available on the phone. They said yes. I came over. The only piercer was in the middle of doing a tattoo on someone.Th next time I called to make an appointment. They dont schedule appointments over the phone. You have to show up to make an appointment. What kind of a place is this?

I got a small tattoo on my forearm yesterday from Jeremy (I think that was his name?? He never really introduced himself to me). He was very unprofessional and kept calling me all these pet names like Sugar and Momma and I was very uncomfortable with it.The day after the tattoo, I already believe its infected. He didnt make any effort to shave or even clean my arm off before he started tattooing and he started too fast for me to even object. He also didnt allow my friend to sit in the room with me because I always like support during a tattoo. Then, after, he didnt wrap it up and he also didnt give me any aftercare instructions whatsoever. Also, I was never asked for an ID which surprised me because I really do look a lot younger than I am.To top it off, Jeremy gave my tattoo wavy lines where they shouldve been straight. Im not artist and my lines wouldnt have been half as wavy. Then he tried to convince my friend into a tattoo she didnt want, he kept telling us that hed had tattoos for longer than wed been alive so obviously hed know what wed want, AND the base price there is $80. For the little one I just got, I wouldnt have paid more than $50 back home. Im so unsatisfied that I could cry and Im very worried about my arm because its one day old and already flaking. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone ever.

Edited my review from 1 star to 3 because the owner responded and attempted to fix the situation and the problem was with rude employees, not the owner or the service.Treating customers nicely, on the phone or in person is essential to a successful business. Training employees to do this is imperative, as employees are a reflection of a business.

East Main Ink is hands down the best tattoo shop in Bozeman. All the artists at East Main Ink are friendly, easy going, and funny. I’ve had difficulties being comfortable in tattoo shops before, but being at EMI, I feel comfortable to crack jokes, and have great conversations. Special shout out to Baker, an artist at EMI. I’ve gotten over half of my ink done by him (some in pics below) and I am extremely happy with all of them. I am a very picky person when it comes to permanent ink, and I can’t wait to get more done by Baker. Thanks guys 👍🏼

Really nice people who all get along, and they clearly know what they are doing. There is a reason people show up almost an hour early before opening for Thursday and Friday walk-ins. I suspect most of their customers are repeats.
