Tyler at Hartford County Tattoo is a true artist. He not only captured my dinosaur coffee tattoo vision perfectly but also added his own creative flair. His attention to detail and shading is exceptional. He’s professional and easygoing, making the tattoo experience enjoyable. I highly recommend Tyler for his exceptional artistry.

I had an excellent experience here. Tyler did a tattoo on my forearm that was six inches long, was done in a little over an hour. Came out beautiful and I am amazed that the next day there is still almost no pain and no scabbing either. From past experiences, I expected to be there for three or four hours and have a lot of pain and healing time after my tattoo, but none of that occurred. The price was also quite fair for the work done. Thank you Tyler and the team at Hartford county tattoo, you’ve earned a customer for life!

The place is clean but the tattoo artist Rick was not as good as expected. Went there to have some designs and came out with something else. He charges $175 per hour and the work is mediocre. He charged me for 3 hours when he did not used up all those hours ($525). Had to go somewhere else to have the tattoo fixed because it looked it weird and odd. I think the best artist there is the MT he has a very good portfolio and experience with scars and coverups.

I was very happy with my tattoo. Tyler did exactly what I wanted. He is a friendly and creative guy. The reception was welcoming and friendly. The place has great vibes. I will definitely go back. Thanks Tyler!

My mom and I made an appointment for matching tattoos with Leo and had the best experience! The tattoos are perfect, Leo is so talented and great to work with, and we’re already planning our next tattoo! Can’t recommend enough :)

This is my 3rd tattoo by Dave. He is very knowledgeable and aways explains the process and after care thoroughly. He is also very personable. I highly recommend him.

I went in to get a dark blue tattoo(like lapis). I told the receptionist over the phone and had to write it down on a paper before we got started of the description of the tattoo I wanted. I couldnt see the tattoo while it was being done because of the location, but when I looked in the mirror I was disappointed and didnt even want to finish it so I said it was fine and left. This is in no way the receptionists fault, its the artists fault for not reading the paper I filled out, for not looking at the notes for my appointment from when I made the phone call, or even just asking me to make sure what color I wanted. I am more upset now than when I originally got the tattoo because I was supposed to get another tattoo opposite to this one for my bunny(who has unfortunately since passed) and this tattoo being in black ruins the tribute tattoo I was going to do for him, the colors will look so stupid and crazy because of this tattoo being messed up.

Just had my brothers memorial tattoo done by Rick. He did such an amazing job and I will definitely be back for more.

Everything about this place is professional from the receptionist to the staff. The knowledge and experience make it my go to tattoo place. Ive been coming here for a couple years. Ive mainly delt with @rickstanton tattoo and have always been pleased with the work he does and what I get. Definitely check them out.

Got my second tattoo ever from Ty at Hartford County Tattoo. Not only did he have the utmost level of professionalism; he was also kind, respectful, and one of the easiest people to get along with Ive ever met. We did a couple of adjustments prior to the stencil and he was extremely accommodating. It was such an easy process! He was very consultative and it was so exciting to see how much fun he had with this piece of art. There are some additions to be made in about a month and for the first time in a very long time, Im like a kid before Christmas.I would recommend this place, and Ty, a 1000%. This sets a golden standard of tattoo parlors and I trust whatever comes out of there.

My first time here and it was great! Damian is very experienced and knowledgeable! He definitely knows what hes doing and I think Ive found a new spot for piercings! Plus, this shop is very clean and put together. You walk in and you can actually tell that its a shop and not some junk in some back alley!

I went here for the first time, recently. Everyone was super friendly, from over the phone to the day of my tattoo. I booked with David and hes absolutely fantastic! Hes extremely talented and very affordable. He was very attentive to not only doing a great job, but making sure I was comfortable the entire session. I went here to get my septum pierced and it was absolutely amazing!! damian was awesome and talked me through everything. i was very nervous and damian explained everything to me and made sure i was okay and comfortable. he definitely knows what he’s doing and does it very well, i could not be happier with how my appointment went!! i will definitely come back for any future piercings :)

From the first phone call I loved this place! They were friendly and professional. I live out of state but was taking my teenage son for his first tattoo based on a recommendation from a friend. I also got three done. I will definitely take him back here! We were able to email our designs and MT worked with us to get us each what we were looking for, accommodating an additional request by me. The shop is not just clean but really cool looking like an art gallery inside. We couldnt be happier with the experience or the tattoos. Damien did a fantastic job piercing my daughters nose. He was courteous, thorough and professional. Great place, good people, and VERY CLEAN!

Just got my helix pierced here, the staff was extremely kind and Damien was an amazing piercer!! he totally made me less nervous about the piercing and it was quick and basically painless!

Had my first tattoo done with Leandro and just came back to him a year later on February of 2024 to do a touch up. Hes amazing and helpful, always asks how Im doing during the process and helped me pick out the color of my tattoo so it matched what I wanted.

Hartford County Tattoo is easily one of the best shops in CT. The aesthetic and atmosphere of the shop is very relaxing. The artists are all talented and Nic the manager recommended me an amazing artist after describing what I was looking for. She fit my style perfectly. Nic was also extremely helpful and patient while establishing good lines of communication in describing the fine details of the specifics. Absolute 5 stars!

I go to Dave, he is truly the best. I love his work, he has done 10 of my tattoos. All fine line work. Go to him! RUN to him! His advice is great too, I love our therapy ink sessions! Just left from getting my 13th, he’s very accommodating he took my 2 friends and I short notice too! coming back soon for another appointment.

The shop is very welcoming, all the artists here are super relaxed, chill & very professional. The shop itself is covered in artwork you can purchase to help support the artists. I am currently working on my sleeves with Rick Stanton. I cannot say enough good things about him. He has an upbeat vibe about him, and an attitude that makes you feel completly at ease. Every time I walk in I have a new idea & it’s an immediate connection on how we can add the new stuff!!! Doesn’t matter how far away I live, this is the shop I will keep coming back too!! 

I went with my partner, and we got Damien: I can’t give this place enough stars. The front desk attendant was so pleasant, and fun to talk to. And Damien is so welcoming and friendly: not only is he super supportive, but he took care to go through the best practices, and make sure we felt at home. Not only that but he is a riot. Please give this man a raise

I have a few tattoos also my wife and daughter have been tattooed by Rick Stanton.It was pleasurable experience every time. Hes a true craftsmen and artist of the trade. Highly recommend. The work speaks for itself.

I had Mortricia for my first tattoos! She made the experience very enjoyable and when I asked her for her opinion she was very honest not just about what it would look like now but after 10years of having it. I was and am very pleased with how clean it was, how friendly she was, and my overall experience!

First off, I have to say that Tabitha is hands-down, the most down to earth, friendly and knowledgeable receptionist I have ever encountered. She was enthusiastic and caring - being my first tattoo, this made me feel very comfortable!My brother and I had Leo for our artist. We did back to back tattoos with him. We lost our aunt one year ago, and she was indescribably important to us. These tattoos are in memory of her. Leo was patient, friendly and very skilled. We provided him pictures of what we wanted and he absolutely nailed it. We will definitely be going back to Hartford County Tattoo!

I only had 1 small tattoo but At 58 years old I finally decided to get a sleeve done. Went to a shop and wasn’t very happy with what was done. THEN through business I met Tyler (Tytattooguy on IG) I looked at his work and was impressed. Made an appointment and honestly I could not be happier. He books out far but that’s expected when someone is that popular. His freehand is impeccable. The shop is immaculate and well decorated. Would recommend Tyler and the shop to anyone.

Best tattoo experience I’ve ever had! Tyler did an amazing job fixing a horrible tattoo that I previously got. He made me feel super comfortable and was very professional. He really takes pride in his work and cares about his clients. Definitely would recommend getting a tattoo here! The shop it’s self is very welcoming as well as super clean.! The receptionist was also super sweet and very attentive to all that walked through the doors as well as on the phone. Never will I ever go any where else but here.! 10/10 recommend!!

I went in to make an appointment for my 1st tattoo. I meet with MT showed him what I was thinking about and what changes. The day I came in and he showed me what he came up with. It was beautiful. My 1st tattoo was in memory of my mom. MT did an awesome job I love it.

I had a great experience! My schedule is crazy and they were more then willing to work with me and were extremely accommodating, which I appreciate! There are a lot of shops that would not have that level of customer service at all. I had a piece done by Leonardo and it came out amazing. He took the time to make sure the design and stencil were perfect. He was very professional and because English is his second language he took his time to make sure we were able to communicate and understand each other. I definitely plan on coming back to him for more work!

This was my first experiment with Hartford County. I called on a whim and the front desk associate Tabitha was able to get me in within minutes. Rick did my tattoo and I was beyond impressed with the service I received. He was able to take my vision and improve it ten fold. He was not only a great artist but a great conversationalist as well. I would highly recommend this shop and will be back for sure!

I saw Morticia. She was friendly and very personable. I felt like I knew her for ages. The environment was relaxing and definitely clean. She worked on placement with me and was super patient. The thing I liked most is she reaches out a week before with the drawing. I’m super unorganized so that worked great for me. I am definitely going back for part two. Love love love her art work!!!!

I had a tattoo done by Darlene and she did an excellent job. She was precise and professional. She drew up and tattooed exactly how I wanted. She is very talented. I also want to say that whole staff there is kind and compassionate. I had an incident before I got in the door and everyone rallied to help me. I really appreciate everything they did for me to make me feel safe. My pride was hurt but luckily nothing else. Thank you so much!

Had my first tattoo appointment and I am beyond happy with how it came out! The communication is very clear, comfort is important to me and I felt extremely comfortable. Definitely love the energy and everyone is very kind! Mortricia is the artist that took care of me and she is very personable as well as very understanding and I highly highly recommend!

Had a great experience here with Darlene! It was my first time at this studio as well as my first tattoo that took more than an hour or so. She was extremely professional, accommodating, patient, and kind. I couldn’t have asked for more. The piece came out absolutely gorgeous, I am completely mesmerized and in love. 10/10. Got a tattoo a few weeks ago from Red. It was my first time at Hartford county it was an excellent experience. The girl at the desk was very friendly and helpful. I was getting a tattoo of my dogs paw I love all my pets they are like my kids. I asked her for someone she felt was what I call an “animal person” and she recommended Red. Great artist he totally got what I was going for. the tattoo he did for me is awesome and he took to another level with his creativity. It was a great experience and the shop was very neat and clean. I will go back for another one and I highly recommend anyone to get a tattoo from Hartford county! Thanks RED!

I just want to say WOW. One of the best shops I’ve ever been to. The staff is super friendly, the artwork on the walls is so mesmerizing, and they have the cutest little gift shop that you can browse while you’re waiting to get tatted! If you’re looking for a clean, professional tattoo shop with great staff, come here. I just want to thank Chad for being so amazing, thank you so much for the great conversation and just being so understanding about everything. Chad was able to compensate me and help me out with a beautiful little piece on my wrist for my father that just passed, and I absolutely love it. I plan to come here to get my thigh piece fixed, and many other pieces of ink. But seriously, Hartford County is one of the best shops in CT, and if you haven’t gotten something done here.. then you definitely need to. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

I had my first tattoo done on Wednesday night I had Chad he was awsome my tattoo came out really good I would for sure be back there and recommend Chad to do another tattoo on me

To start off, I love the atmosphere of the place. Modern but unique, clean place. As for my artist, Dave, has by far exceeded my expectations! I’ve been to about 3 other artists at other locations and no one else has been so accommodating and patient and making sure I love what I have on my body. Takes his time and makes the experience super enjoyable with his energy. I also love that he does different styles as well and is up for anything. I will be going back indefinitely for more!

Definitely recommend coming here for a great tattoo service & experience! I came in looking to get my 4th tattoo done and spoke with Rick for a consultation. I showed him the design I wanted and he made a very visible effort to work with me to fix anything that needed to be fixed or to add anything I wanted. I could tell that my happiness and certainty with the tattoo was his number one priority. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming and very willing to help you with any needs or concerns. He efficiently worked on our tattoos, while still paying complete attention to the details. The flowers that he created are gorgeous and exactly what we wanted. He was personable & professional and made us feel more than comfortable. Great conversation and fun & funny attitude just added to this great experience. I went in for my first tattoo in years and I was amazed by the updated facility. It was clean and inviting, the staff was all friendly. Tricia did 2 smaller tattoos for me and I was very pleased with not only how fast and easy it was but with how beautiful the final product is. I would definitely recommend Hartford county and Tricia and hope to have more work done there in the future.

I have to say this was the Best tattoo shop I have ever been too. I absolutely love my tattoo done by Cheryl! I emailed her 30 minutes before my appointment with a different idea and she had no problem sketching it. The shop was spotless, and I have to say it was very nice to see she had her own private room to tattoo in, along with a door. Especially, when your exposing yourself! Everyone was so friendly it was amazing, totally different experience from other shops I have been too. This is the Only shop I will be using from now on. I will see you again Cheryl!!! I just had an appointment with Mortricia and she is AMAZING and very professional! The entire studio (including her room) was very clean and organized. She had excellent distraction techniques for those like me who are anxious (even though I was getting something super small). When I felt faint after finishing she and the whole staff jumped into action. I had mints, water, a fan and honey stick to me in minutes. Getting a tattoo can be very personal, and I would highly recommend Mortricia!!

I got my first tattoo done today by Tyler. Hands down the absolute BEST service I could ask for!! The design he came up with was exactly how I visioned it, and he made me feel very comfortable and at ease about getting my first piece. Also, the place itself is beautifully decorated and all the staff are extremely friendly. Will definitely be coming back for my second tattoo!

By far my favorite tattooing experience to date. The receptionists were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The shop itself is beautiful, very spacious and incredibly clean. There is an art gallery throughout and you are encourage to look around. Johnny did my tattoo and he was phenomenal. I truly cant say enough good things about him. We talked a lot about randomness and he taught me a lot about the tattooing process, the machines used, etc. He paid incredibly close attention to detail, my tattoo came out so perfect you would think it was a slap on. I will be going back to him in the fall to revisit an old tattoo. I was able to show it to him and get some feedback on what my options are and I am incredibly excited for whats to come as well!

This is me and my daughters 3rd trip here,we have made it an annual event,we come all the way from Cape Cod,Ma.to see our Tattoo Artist Rick. He does amazing work,and the overall vibe there is super chill and relaxing. It is such a great bonding experience for me and my daughter too,who also loves the overall experience. RICK RICK RICK!!!!! Rick Stanton has an upbeat vibe about him, and an attitude that automatically makes you comfortable. He does amazing, traditional work and has no problem spending the little extra time and effort to make your ideas come to life as artwork on your body. It is very nice to go to someone knowledgeable, trusting, and just as stoked to give you a tattoo as you are to receive it. And even more so, it is extremely awesome to get a finished tattoo that is clean cut, professional, and flawless. Definitely book your appointment with Rick next time you go! I was a walk-in looking to speak with an artist about how best to touch up a tattoo I had gotten almost 20 years ago. I met with Cheryl, who was very professional and easy to talk to. And because one of her appointments fell through, she was able to take me in right that day, which was awesome! The entire shop is emmaculate, with an inviting vibe, and Cheryl was very, very cool and made my tattoo look better than new. All around great experience. Highly recommended.

I came to Tyler for a very challenging cover up project.Over all my expectations were exceeded by far! He is very professional, Talented, continuously made sure I was comfortable, and is also very quick. A project I thought would need 6 hours only took 3. The quality of the tattoo is also amazing. Since the tattoo I wanted covered up was very big and dark, I was nervous about how a cover up would look, but you cant even tell there was ever anything besides beautiful flowers there (:Highly recommend working with Tyler

This place was amazing! I got my first tattoo here. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. She asked me what I wanted to get, what my price range was, the color scheme of the tattoo, and gave me a photo albums of past artworks by the artist there. Joe was my tattoo artist and his price was very reasonable for the size of the tattoo I got. One thing I want to point out is that ALL THE ARTIST HAS THEIR OWN PRICE RANGE. So I would recommend doing your research and look around to see which artists artworks and techniques youd prefer. Overall my tattoo turned out exactly how I wanted. I was very satisfied with the work and I would definitely go back for a second, third, and fourth time. I would recommend this place, but the biggest deciding factor is the viewer themselves. One thing I like may be the worst piece of art to someone else. So it all depends on you.

My daughter and I got mother/daughter tattoos. I gave Johnny Chops an outline of what we wanted and a few basic ideas for color and he did an absolutely amazing job! This was my daughters first tattoo so she was nervous but he made her feel so much at ease with the combination of professionalism and humor. We have had So Many compliments on the work and we are both extremely happy. I would recommend Johnny and Hartford County to anyone looking to get ink done.

Today was my first time ever visiting Hartford County tattoo and I can guarantee it will be the last. I had an appointment with 2 of my friends for noon. We wanted very simple and very small matching tattoos. The artist was almost an hour late to the appointment and each tattoo is COMPLETELY different from the next. How as an artist do you mess up a stencil that badly? Not to mention the ridiculous over price of the tattoos. Completely absurd. Never again will I return.

This parlor has not only very skilled piercers and tattoo artists but also employess who exude professionalism and excellence in their practice. I have had both my first tattoo here as well as multiple piercings and have found the parlor to be clean, well-run, organized as well as business oriented. Prices are very fair and never hidden. The artists are client focused and are very good at specializing their artistic view based on client needs and wants. Also the artists do thorough teaching for first time goers on piercing and tattoo care. Overall Ive had a great experience with all the staff at Hartford County and am scheduled for another appointment within the next month with my personal favorite tattoo artist Izzy who beautifully drew up my first tattoo and made my first experience as comfortable as needles can be.

Loved this place. Would go again. I follow my artist Jay anywhere but hes in a great spot so thats two things I like. Receptionist was super friendly just how you would want service to be when you walk into a place. You dont get friendly smiles like that nowadays, but you can get it there. Jay does great art work, patient and personable.

Ive had all of my tattoos done at Hartford County and every experience has been great. My artists have been very engaging and professional and the rooms and equipment are very clean. The recent expansion and renovation makes the place look great, too! I would highly recommend.

Amazing tattoo shop. I recently got my second tattoo here and after looking through Johnny V’s portfolio I chose him! He is an incredible artist and took my basic idea and personalized it better than I had imagined. Johnny V was also funny and made the entire process of my first large tattoo even better! Went to get a not so good tattoo (originally inked by another person) “repaired”. Chad, the owner, not only took on the task, but he transformed a mess into an amazing work of art. He freehanded exactly what the original piece was missing. Chad is truly a great person, the story of how he built his business is remarkable. I dont know that I can say enough about how much I enjoy coming here. From the moment you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile and no matter how busy it is Ive seen everyone greeted and been notified that they will be helped as soon as possible.I see Daryl and I am so happy with his work that when we move I will be holding off getting any work done until I can get back here from him to do it. The things he can design are more amazing than I could ever dream of. He takes my very basic ideas and makes them come to life in his designs. He then translates that beautifully onto my skin. I have gotten all of my tattoos here and I absolutely love the atmosphere. Everyone is so nice and welcoming. The artist really takes their time on you and makes sure you get what you want. I have also gotten pierced here and it was also a great expirience. The shop is very clean! Only place I will go! All the artist are very talented! I highly recommend to everyone!

I got a tattoo of St. Michael and I am extremely pleased with how it came out. Dave is an incredible artist who had the challenge of working with an outline that someone else had drawn up. I couldnt have asked for a better experience. The studio is very clean and very comfortable, and the private rooms make it all the better. I will be recommending this place to anyone who is looking for a place to get a quality tattoo. I will definitely be coming back.

The facility is clean. The staff are very nice, respectful, and can strike up a conversation easily. The artists are professionals that know exactly what theyre doing. They take their time to get the piece perfect for you. The shop location is between a little mini Mart and a pizza restaurant so you can grab food during your long tattoo sessions. This is the only shop I will go to for my future tattoos

The staff working the desk was incredibly friendly and accommodating when I wanted to book an appointment with my friend. With everything with covid they kept me updated on what was happening, cancelations, and rescheduling my appointment. I got my tattoo from Tyler and hes amazing, wicked friendly, professional and talented. I went in and asked him to add to a previous piece he did and he freehanded a stunning piece (he basically read my mind)! I love it and booked two more appointments the same day to finish it.

All I can say is WOW! I had an old faded tattoo and my very talented tattoo artist, Arlene did her magic to cover it with her beautiful peony tattoo! You can’t even see the old one. :) I’m so happy!The place is so clean and all the staff are super friendly. Will ba back for sure!

*edit* Within an hour of posting this review I recieved a call from the owner, and he was wonderful to talk to and was very interested in remedying the experience for us. Both him and his wife were incredibly polite and understanding of our dissapointment. Not only did they process a refund but also offered to fix them if they didnt heal right. They completely changed my mindset about the whole experience and made me willing to come back again.------The atmosphere and the people who work there on a regular basis were all laid back and really cool. However...my two best friends and I got tattooed by an artist named katie, who is apparently a traveling artist. Not only did she walk in twenty minutes after our appointment time smelling of weed but she didnt have anything prepared and it wasnt until almost an hour after our scheduled time that she actually started tattooing, she also didnt manage to make the tattoos actually match. Overall she was rather rude to me. We got a small tattoo that shouldnt have cost anything over shop minimum and were charged 125 each. When I mentioned that i thought that was ridiculous pricing i was completely ignored.

If youre going go get your first tattoo then I strongly suggest that Hartford County Tattoo is your only destination.The most important thing as per my understanding is capturing the expectation of the person who wants to get the tattoo and the design has to match those expectations. Tyler nailed it. I walked into the studio with an open mind and explained the design I am expecting. Tyler drew the entire tattoo by hand and the final design was amazing. Wonderful nature scenes with awesome shading and I am happy that I chose this place.

I have been tattooed by multiple artists here and every single one of them is extremely talented, friendly, professional and clean. Everyone has their own unique style, collectively, making this a great place for someone who wants a tattoo to explore. I went yesterday with my son. They did a great job and the staff was very nice We both got tats done by Leo. I understand the price of things went up I get it. BUT 500 dollars for 2 small tats???? Outrageous to me. And everyone else Ive spoke to as well...😳

I got my first tattoo by Jay Goods and he was absolutely amazing. The shop was very clean, I felt safe, and he made me feel extremely comfortable. He is an amazing artist and executed my ideas perfectly. I would definitely recommend!

I was part of a group today. We all had a great experience with Jayse! I have many piercings but this was my first septum piercing. Getting your septum can be a big risk with an inexperienced piercer, so I was definitely prepared to have to walk out without getting it done but Jayse obviously knew what he was doing and it was a much better experience than Ive had with my others. Totally Recommend!!

OMG...Where do I begin? I took my son, who is 16 years old, to get his first tattoo. This tattoo shop was absolutely beautiful and, by far, the most PROFESSIONAL business we have ever dealt with! First, Nic, the receptionist, was flawless in her customer service. Secondly, we chose the tattoo artist Johnny V. to do my sons tattoo. We were impressed with his profile info, which mentioned the fact that he strives to make every tattoo his best work. No words can describe how impressed we were with this tattoo artist. We were expecting to get a tattoo, but we got so, so much more!! Johnny V. made our experience the most incredible one weve ever had. That man is a genius! Not only that, but he was very patient, careful, impeccably clean, and produced the highest quality tattoo...Again, no words to describe this experience. My son loves his tattoo, and we will only see Johnny V. for future tattoos. On a scale of 1 to 10, Johnny was off the charts! I cannot say enough good things about Hartford County Tattoo. I called without an appointment on a Saturday and asked if they take walk-ins. One of the artists made sure to ask every single person if they could fit me in and promised me someone would give me a call if they could. He took down my information and Johnny chops gave me a call just a few hours later. Everyone was so so so kind and extremely helpful. Johnny did a very special tattoo for me and I cant say enough how much I am in love with his work. He explained everything he was doing to me and answered all questions I had as well as being very easy to talk to during the process. I highly recommend both Johnny and Hartford County Tattoo and I will not get a tattoo anywhere else after my experience today.

Great place with an awesome environment. Very friendly staff and clean facility. Got my Daith piercing with Alexis. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I liked that he talked me through the process so that I was aware of what he was doing and in the middle he would hold a regular conversation so that there wasn’t an awkward silence. It took me over 30 years before I found an artist I completely trusted to finally stab me permanently and I found that artist in Tyler. This shop is immaculate! Pre-Covid/Post-Covid.. the owners clearly take health and cleanliness seriously while still creating an inviting friendly atmosphere. Though Ive only worked with Ty, all the artists are top line professional. Hard not to be when surrounded by amazing artwork on the walls too! I highly recommend this spot, especially for tattoo newbies.

The entire staff has been great to work with. I have been here for two tattoos. Both times have been flawless experiences from start to end. Daryl is an amazing artist and Nic does a fantastic job at the front office.

Let me start off by saying I might be the most OCD person on the planet... Everything must be perfect and the tattoo I got from Chad was just that! He was so patient with every little tweak I made during the sketching process. He was so chill and laid back and gave me exactly what I wanted. His level of attention to detail was amazing!!!! I absolutely love the finished product. The shop manager (Amy?) was great, other artists were super nice, and it was such a cool atmosphere. There were really cool unique soap/bath products for purchase in the waiting area...got me some fight club soap while I was there!!!! Great stocking stuffers :) My husband will be going back to see Chad for a tattoo and Im sure I will be doing the same. After years of somewhat jumping around from shop to shop, artist to artist....I can finally say that Chat is my guy.

Rick is awesome!! I emailed regarding a cover up and Nic emailed me back right away to get the ball rolling. The consultation was quick and painless and setting up an appointment was fairly quick. So far we’ve finished the first part and everyone has been wonderful from walking in the door seeing Nic at the desk to Chad popping in to say hello and of course Rick for his amazing work. Can’t wait to see the finished product.

Overall average/disappointing experience. I got two small tattoos done by Johnny V on 7/18/19, and I was expecting to get some great quality work. They were my first ever, so I spent a lot of time researching to find a good artist and all of his photos on Instagram and elsewhere looked amazing. This made it even more devastating when I was not happy with my pieces just days after and I am certainly not happy now.The first piece was a handwriting copy from a letter my dad wrote me years ago. At first, it looked great. However, after just 6 months, there are several weird bulges and a few lines that are way too heavy compared to the rest (although this is not a new development, they showed up months ago) but weirdly also a couple of lines (The center and bottom lines of the I) that are really faint and already have missing ink. I’ll be surprised if they last a year or two from now. The faint lines could of course be touched up, but the lack of consistency is frustrating.I also got a stalk of wheat. This one is really problematic. First of all, there are supposed to be thread-like fibers coming out of the sides, and they are completely missing from the design. I didn’t notice this until the day after getting it so it’s partially my fault, but I told Johnny NUMEROUS times that they were a critical element to the design. Second, it’s not as curved as it was supposed to be. Third, there’s a particular seed (see day-of photo, yellow arrow) that for some reason is sticking out on an extra stalk and is weirdly small? Again, something I should have caught, but I was understandably hyped up on adrenaline and didn’t notice. Also, I have never in my life seen a stalk of wheat with a seed sticking out like that, mostly because wheat does not grow like that!!! For all the time it took (HOURS) for him to create this very simple design, an error like that is kind of ridiculous. Also, this tattoo is a blurry mess that looks terrible for only being 6 months old. There are also multiple spots of ink loss, although I am mainly frustrated with the severe ink bleeding. People regularly misidentify what it is.In terms of the customer service, it was alright. I paid a little under $100 for the pair, which I consider to be a very fair price and is probably the reason my rating isn’t lower. Johnny V was a generally nice guy, but there were a few weird moments where he was really pushing me and especially my mom to talk about personal stuff relating to my dad’s death. One of the pieces was a memorial, so it was bound to come up, but he pushed really far and made it awkward at times.Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place or at least not Johnny V specifically. Again, I do acknowledge that some things were my fault, but I think that most of the issues I encountered were due to poor application. I can’t claim to be a tattoo expert by any means, but based on what I see and the additional research I’ve done, the results that I have gotten seem to be mostly a result of how it was done rather than something I did.

This was my first ever tattoo and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Mortricia was amazing and personable and made me feel so comfortable. Both my sisters and I got matching tattoos and it was just overall a great experience.

She is extremely pleased and she is looking forward to showing it off now that its warm weather. Ive been following one of the tattoo artists there to his various shops for 6 years. He is my top choice, but everyone else there is friendly, funny, and extremely talented. The store is immaculately clean and organized.Beyond being tattoo artists, these people are true artists, as their various paintings and other works hang on the walls. You get a feeling of comfort knowing that these people are so talented and passionate about what they do.

Mortricia did an in memoriam tattoo for me. She is very intuitive and kind, and I love the piece. She understood it was an emotional moment for me. She told it like it is, I appreciated her clarity and honesty. ❤️

I got a tattoo here almost two years ago. They were extremely nice and very accommodating, it is very professional and clean inside. I wanted a simple black tattoo (a heart and semi colon combo). It was done quickly and looked pretty awful once healed. It had many spots that it was not filled in all the ways, the lines were sloppy, and it was not proportional. I was very surprised because the shop appears to be very nice and very professional. Unfortunately I don’t remember the name of the artist. I ended up getting the tattoo covered up and that artist was shocked at how bad it looked when I explained it to him. Luckily it looks much, much better now that it’s covered but I was extremely unhappy with how it turned out.

I had called in regards to setting up an appointment with Cheryl, not only was cheryl awesome with responding to my first email, the woman i spoke with over the phone was so great and helpful. Especially the first time i called she answered every question i had and explained the whole process to me. Very pleased and cannot wait until my appointment in August to have my first tattoo done !

Hartford County Tattoo is the most professional and clean tattoo parlor in CT. Diamond Dave is my favorite artist but I would recommend anyone there, theyre all so skilled.

The shop is clean and the staff is awesome. Calvin is a very talented tattoo artist and piercer. All of the staff is kind and sociable and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this shop to everyone. All of the artists are honest and want what is best for their clients.

Mediocre experience . Tattoo itself is ok, but charged a different amount than what was being told. I was charged $550+ for just two hours of line work. (which originally I was promised a $150/ hour rate, I also lost an additional $100 reserve fee since I wasn’t sure if the same thing would happen again and they don’t refund booking deposit ) Not even colored. Originally the planned design was a bigger piece that gets break into multiple sections and I got a four hour time booking, but then the artist last minute altered the first section design to a much smaller piece ( it was my first tattoo so I wasn’t sure about what to say). I thought since we would have time he would continue the design to the next section but he didn’t. I was offered a “discount” rate but somehow still had to pay $550+( the artist didn’t explain at all, he just say I’ll give you a discount and charged me $550, again first tattoo no experience and since it was during the weekend so no desk lady on site to explain just the artist himself ). Also, there were some commentaries during the session really just put me off and made me uncomfortable. I also tried to ask the artist how much it would be for the next session and he said he “don’t know” even though by then he should have a clear idea about the estimate, so I decided to cancel the next appointment since I am not sure if I would have the same thing happen to me again . (Thus losing the extra $100 deposit fee)🥲Originally called them and got a respond that they will try to make it right and I was being promised to be called by the manager to see if things can get resolved, but only received a call that got silenced due to phone settings and never being contacted again ( not even a voicemail). All and all disappointed.

Got a memorial tattoo for my mother by Joe. He did an amazing job!! All of the staff were very professional and courteous. I would highly recommend Hartford County Tattoo for anyone that would want to get their 1st or 20th tattoo. Going back for another one real soon.

Calvin Von Crush performed the piercings that I currently have just about 6 years ago. When I was shopping for a piercing artist, I visited more than 20 shops in the course of 3 months. No one seemed to care about what I -exactly- wanted. Calvin spent the time necessary to understand the crucial angles, in 3-dimensions, that I wanted. From there, he took the time to set me up with the correct sizes to ensure the jewelry I wanted. At the end of the project, everything came out perfect. i still get compliments from both amateurs and pros alike about how well it came out.The shop is clean, and Calvin is very rehearsed on regulations and laws (Even for areas that he doesnt practice in). The shop is conscientious of the entire environment - and are always considering and catching things that normal people wouldnt catch in terms of contamination, cleanliness and organization. Calvin is truly a world-class artist who loves his art, and his love of the craft is immediately apparent.

I called two hours before close requesting a walk in. They fit me in as soon as I got there and did an incredible job. Made my first tattoo experience as stress free as possible!

Again, a great experience today at HCT. Everyone is always friendly and helpful. Shop is always spotless too. I wouldnt get tattooed anywhere else. Miss Jess has done both of the tattoos Ive gotten there and Cheryl does my daughters tattoos.My parents (who are in their 60s) got their first tattoos at HCT not too long ago!

Im in the process of getting a massive cover up, and Cheryl couldnt be doing a better job with it. Not only does she have incredible artistic talent, but shes been patient and worked with me, given me honest feedback about what would and would not work, and is wholly invested in giving me a piece to be proud of. This is my third time receiving a tattoo from hftd county tattoo. I have not been here in ages. Its so nice! I love the art work and the hand made soaps and lotions. Body jewelry was awesome. My tattoo artist who is currently an apprentice (Johnny chops) was a a very nice guy. Clean. Not to talkative because Im quiet and dont want you to talk my ear off lol. But it was a very experience. The only reason I took a star away was because I wanted to purchase a few items if body jewelry for piercings Ive had for over ten years and the peircer had to specifically sell me the jewelry and sterilize it or whatever which the wait would have been an hour and a half so that was annoying. I wanted the jewelry, just sell me it next time lol oh well

I wanted so bad to like this place, I really did. After doing a lot of research I decided to get a coverup tattoo here. Im going to start with the pros. I apologize for the length of this review, I just have a lot to say.This shop is VERY clean, the staff is very friendly, especially the owner, he is a great guy.Now onto the cons. I got a coverup tattoo, I had a tribal scorpion tattoo on my tricep that I wanted covered up. I worked with Daryl, he listened to my design ideas and came up with a nice looking design. It was a Tom Petty inspired tattoo that incorporated an astronaut floating in space. Unfortunately half of the lettering is illegible and the tattoo as a whole is a complete mess. I found myself being pretty depressed about this tattoo after it was done. I reached out to a bunch of other shops and they all said the same thing, that thing is a MESS, one shop thinks I should get it laser removed. Laser removal isnt an option for me, so Im going to another tattoo artist who now has to do ANOTHER cover up. I think perhaps Daryl bit off more than he can chew on this one. They did offer for me to come back, but Id have to pay even more to get the lettering/design fixed and at the end of the day could they make it look any better? Im choosing to cut my losses and go somewhere else.Overall it was a complete loss for me on this tattoo, both financially and emotionally.Just to reiterate, the people at Hartford County Tattoo are great people and they do quality work. I was just one of the few people whos tattoo turned out bad.Thats life though I guess...

My mom, at age 71, got a beautiful tattoo here. She only got her 1st tattoo at 63 and this last one is her 3rd. It is an extremely sentimental piece of art. Her daughter...my sister....got sick with a terminal illness. She passed at age 50 which was 6 years ago next month. She had a love for ladybugs. My mom got a ladybug with an angel (cherub) lying on top of the ladybug. Absolutely gorgeous work!!!

Most of my family and some of my friends have had there tattoos done By Calvin at Hartford County Tattoo in Bristol ct. My two sons, my daughter in law, myself. My brother in law had a cover up after a divorce, and his girlfriend had a few tattoos. I love my tattoo and people ask about where i got it every they see it. The place was very clean, the women at the counter was very professional so was Calvin.

Got my septum pierced on saturday and was very pleased with the environment and the staff, they made me feel comfortable as well as informed and I was in and out shortly. Im absolutely in love with how it came out and will 100% be going back for more!

Came here 5 days after getting my nose pierced in Boston because the diamond kept sinking in. It was stressing me out and I called and got an appointment that day/right away. Alexis helped me pick out a new ring, sterilized and explained every step of the process and why the original ring wasnt suitable for me. Im so grateful and Id absolutely go back. The place also is gorgeously decorated & maintained. Top of the line!

Artists here are super relaxed, chill but very professional about what you want done. The studio itself is covered in artwork you can purchase to help support the artists. Great quality, natural made soaps lotions and other healthy, aftercare products are available to purchase.

Im trying to put words to my experience but I dont know where to start. Wherever you are, take the drive. I chose Rick Stanton. He is an incredible artist and a great guy.

My artist was very professional and all of the staff were nice and helpful. The shop has an amazing vibe with a lot of amazing artwork for sale and also some really nice-smelling soaps and lotions. This is going to be my go-to shop from now on!

If you want to pay 600 dollars for a 200 dollar half-assed tattoo, come here. Wasnt happy with the work I received, and did not get what I wanted. The customer should come first. Found a better artist who does better work, way cheaper and reasonable. Be careful with who you go to here. Youll get ripped off.

I got my first tattoo done here and it was a few words in cursive and a small image ( an emoji Size) added and it was 180$. Also the E in my word wasnt even shaded in all the way! Meanwhile I have many other friends who have gotten tattoos from this place and smaller or larger ones and their pricing actually matched their design. I am disappointed at the fact I got scammed as a young teen here.

Just went for my first tattoo. Joe did an awesome job and made me feel really comfortable. He worked with me with my design and was great about listening to what I liked and didnt like. Definitely coming back!!!

I had Rick do a piece of lettering on my inner bicep. Not only was his work fantastic, and I couldnt be happier with the way it looks and turned out, but all of his font is custom so no one else will have anything the same. He was great to work with and is an all around awesome guy! I highly recommend going in to see Rick!

Chads the man! He does skulls like no other just check out his work! The shop is so cool inside, when you walk in and see it your just blown away, such a cool shop, and super clean. The whole staff is super cool, no additudes and people acting like there better than anyone. Everyone working there has it together and its cool how all the artist have there own specialtys. If your looking to get some ink deff check this place out before you get anything done. Best shop around by far, check it out for your self youll see!!

Worst place ever! I walk in and was approached by the lady at the front which wasnt very friendly. I was interested in a tongue piercing which the piercer was very rude and didnt want to answer any questions then he walked away. I asked how much it would cost and the lady said I dont know his prices because it varies in what jewelry you want and I dont keep track of his inventory How the **** do you not know the prices of piercings when you work there. Very sketchy place and I would not recommend them to anyone. I also asked for an artist to take a look at a tatt I want so they can give me a price range and once again the lady said that i can look in the portfolios and check out their work. Well let me just say, those are the worse tatts I have ever seen in my life. I wouldnt let them tatt me if it was Free. Sketchy and very unprofessional! Never again will I step foot in that dump.

Got a piercing there when Alexis was still working there. He was super professional with me and used sterile technique. He walked through his procedure step by step. Was not worried or nervous at all.

Felt welcomed and appreciated. I have a few pieces done by a few artists there. Cheryl has done 2 pieces and shes spot on with custom work. Looking forward to more.

While consulting with Calvin on my design an overly concerned mother wanted information for her childs first tattoo. Calvin asked if he could invite her into the room to show her how the sterilization process worked. He went over in detail the rules & regulations that HCC abides by. She left feeling confident that her child chose the right shop for their first tattoo. I left with an amazing tattoo! Best Christmas present? My HCC gift card!

The place was very clean and well-decorated. The receptionist was kind and good at her job. The parking lot was a bit small, but overall the studio was very nice.

Artist was condescending to me over the phone, called me “hun” and said my tattoo was a bad idea. Their “master” piercer has a history of harrassing and insulting former customers. Take your business elsewhere.

The owner Chad has been a good friend for years, let alone being my only tattoo artist, i let no one else do my work but him! 5 stars!!!
